Quality Improvement in Advanced Nursing Care

 COURSE OBJECTIVES

 • 1. Identify the relationship of evidence based quality
         improvement measures to patient outcomes.
 • 2. Analyze quality improvement models to determine
         applicability in clinical environments.
 • 3. Demonstrate the use of evidence based quality
         improvement models to improve culturally
         competent patient outcomes.
 • 4. Differentiate roles in transdisciplinary collaboration
         and peer review in context of quality improvement
         strategies

  • 2. Faculty: Carolyn Schubert, DNP, RN-BC COURSE OBJECTIVES • 1. Identify the relationship of evidence based quality improvement measures to patient outcomes. • 2. Analyze quality improvement models to determine applicability in clinical environments. • 3. Demonstrate the use of evidence based quality improvement models to improve culturally competent patient outcomes. • 4. Differentiate roles in transdisciplinary collaboration and peer review in context of quality improvement strategies
  • 3. Required Textbook Kelly, Diane. (2011). Applying quality management in healthcare: a systems approach. Chicago: Health Administration Press.
  • 4. GRADING • Online Discussions(4) 40 points total (10 each) • 25% of grade • Individual Project 40 points total • 25% of grade • Group Project 80 points total • 50% of grade
  • 5. Discussion Boards • Active participation, use references/APA formatting • Read and reflect on others’ postings • Random assignment to small group for discussions • Time spent and content posted-- both monitored • Do postings in a WORD DOCUMENT, then cut and paste to Carmen to avoid losing if timed out
