This document discusses the use of Facebook as a web 2.0 tool to enhance intercultural competence in Korean EFL learners through a telecollaborative project with American students. The study employs Byram's model of intercultural communicative competence to assess the effectiveness of the interaction on Facebook, identifying five key components of intercultural competence. The findings indicate that Facebook facilitates intercultural communication but also highlight areas requiring improvement for better outcomes in developing learners' intercultural awareness.
