У 1948 р. Джеймс Каллітон ствердив, що маркетингові рішення повинні бути результатом певного рецепту. У 1953 р. президент Американської асоціації маркетингу (англ. American Marketing Association) Нейл Борден в одному зі звернень назвав такий рецепт «маркетинг-міксом». У 1960 р. відомий маркетолог Джером МакКарті запропонував класичне визначення маркетинг-міксу з «чотирма P».
• Товар (product) — це головний елемент комплексу маркетингу. Розкривається через такі категорії:
• упаковка,
• асортимент,
• якість,
• торгова марка,
• післяпродажне обслуговування,
• сервіс,
• можливість повернення, обміну тощо;
• Ціна (price) розглядається з погляду підходів до цін:
• прейскуранти, знижки,
• націнка,
• терміни виплати,
• кредит,
• умови платежу тощо;
Ціна встановлюється таким чином, щоб сприяти продажу і водночас забезпечувати певний дохід підприємству.
• Місце (place) або дистрибуція (розповсюдження)— це дії, які здійснює підприємство для забезпечення доставки товару цільовій групі споживачів у потрібне місце і час:
• канали розподілу (збуту),
• посередники
• рівні збуту,
• транспортування,
• складський запас,
• розміщення,
• підготовка торгового персоналу та ін.
• Просування (promotion) — створення інформаційних взаємозвязків підприємства зі своїм цільовим ринком (споживачами). Тут мається на увазі:
• зв'язок з громадськістю, реклама,
• персональний продаж,
• стимулювання збуту,
• PR,
• метод прямого продажу та ін.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
