Panther points. I read this chapter with both of my observations in mind. My
observation in North Minneapolis with Erik, at the middle school, at first seemed
like I wasn t going to learn anything. However, I think I have seen the example of
what NOT to do in a school environment. My co operating teacher along with all of
the teacher s in the middle schoolhave decided to give Panther points out as a way to
positively enforce good behavior. Eric s yellow and red card system, followed by
removal from class was used as the reinforcement of bad behavior. I directly
witnessed a kid, let s call him Marcus. On day one he was helpful in helping other
kids with projects and was given a Panther point for his awesome leadership. On
day two he even stayed after class to clean up and pushed many chairs in to

For the Native American shaman the world of animals, the world of plants, the

Robert Walton is amazed and in awe, while he is traveling to the north pole. His
traveling gives him dreams and excitement for what will come during his travels.

Evelyn Goh s paper on Hierarchical order in South East Asia aims to explain the
surprising peace and mutual co operation which grew out of South East Asia
following the post Cold War period. Her main argument is that it is the South East
Asian states themselves which created this peace and co operation through two broad
pathways : Omni enmeshment on a regional and inter state level and the creation of a
complex balance of influence. My main criticism with her argument is that the
current order in South East Asiahas yet to be challenged by a substantial security
crisis, leaving us questioning just how robust these pathways are. I also reference to
John Mearsheimer s paper on the false promise of international institutions to provide
further criticisms. Regardless, I found her analysis on how smaller states can create
the regional framework for peace compelling it runs counter to the two major streams
of IR thought (realism and liberalism) while explaining what they could not predict:

LuГs Alberto Urrea uses the allegory of desolation in the book The Devils
Highway, A True Story to illustrate life as well as death on the Devils Highway in

word desolation is defined as a state of complete emptiness or destruction. Often,
the word does not appear, when this is the case, the illustration shifts to life.
