A method of preventing school shootings would be to acknowledge risk factors
that the student is facing. For example, bullying is a risk factor for school
shootings. In a research study done in 2001 of 37 school shootings, it was reported
that 75% of the school shooters felt bullied, threatened, or injured by others in
which most of the shooters in the report had experienced long term bullying and

Literary Analysis: The Devil and Tom Walker
The Devil and Tom Walker is a short story written by Washington Irving. The story
is about a legend of a pirates treasure hidden in a swamp and how a miserly man
named Tom Walker finds it on his way home through a swamp. When Tom is in the
swamp a dark tall man, Old Scratch, who Tom recognizes as the Devil, offers Tom a
deal for the treasure. Tom goes home and tells his wife about the deal the Devil
gave him, her greedy made her to take all their valuable possessions and go bargain
with the Devil for the treasure. When she didn t return Tom Walker decided to go
look for his wife. When Tom was looking for her, he found her apron, liver, and her
heart tied up to a tree. After seeing this Tom decided to make the deal with the
Devil. The Devil tells Tom that he must do services to the devil for the treasure. He
first tells Tom to become a slaver trader; however Tom refuses to become one.
Finally the Devil tells Tom to become a corrupted money loaner, which he agrees
to, so he moves to Boston and becomes a moneylender. While at Boston Tom
regrets doing the deal with the Devil and tries going to zealous church in a hope to
redeem his soul for what has he done; however it was too late for Tom Walker. One
afternoon while Tom s victims were begging him for a delay, Tom lost his patience
and his pity and yelled The Devil take me... if I have made a farthing! (Irving, The
Devil and Tom Walker). Immediately after this statement Tom hears three knocks on
his door and the Devil comes for Tom and rides away with him on his horse. The
next day Tom s house and all his belongings are burnt down, and Tom is never seen

We hear in the news about police misconduct, use of excessive force, embezzlement,
but one thing I found while researching what I should write this paper on is the
Wrongful convictions of innocent men and women, that spend years in prison being
innocent, and there is nothing that gets done till it s too late. Some wrongful
convictions are honest mistakes, but many times law enforcement and prosecutors
lose sight of the obligation of ensuring truth and justice, and are focused on their
convictionrates. As with any job, they are honest people and ones that just don t care
and are corrupt, this exists in the criminal justice system. One way to prove someone
is innocent now is through DNA testing, but even at all levels of a criminal
investigation there could be misconduct or mishandling of evidence, which then

applications. In this paper we investigate energy efficient offloading policy for
transcoding as a service in a generic mobile cloud system. we explores how to
minimize the energy consumption of the backlight when displaying a video stream
without adversely impacting the user s visual experience. we put forward algorithms
to solve the fundamental problem and prove the optimality in terms of energy
savings. Finally, based on the algorithms, we present a cloud based energy saving
service.

Theme of Death in Sylvia Plath s Edge and Lady Lazarus Sylvia Plath was born in
Boston. Her first collection of poems, Colossus, was published in England in the
year 1960 and two years later in the United States. Her marriage was a failure and
Ted Hughes, her husband left her in the year 1962. In deep depression, Plath wrote
most of her poems that comprised her most famous book Ariel. On 11th February

pages of the book, tells the reader that she was born with religion. She immediately
explains (in regards to the Islamic practice of veiling) that I really didn t know
what to think about the veil. Deep down I was very religious but as a family we
were very modern and avant garde (Persepolis, 2003, pg. 6). For western feminists,
this ambivalence towards the veil has been a common topic of discourse. In
secularized western countries, the veil is often viewed as a symbol of patriarchal

Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a leader of the British Romantic Movement, was born in
Devonshire, England on October 21, 1772. Out of fourteen children, he was the
youngest in the family. Samuel s father, Reverend John Coleridge was a much
