1. How I Help My Mother Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of "How I Help My Mother" can prove to be both challenging
and rewarding. On one hand, the subject matter may appear deceptively simple, as it revolves
around personal experiences and daily activities. However, capturing the essence of one's
contributions to their mother's life demands a delicate balance between introspection and
effective expression.
Firstly, delving into one's own experiences and memories requires a keen self-awareness and a
willingness to reflect on the intricacies of day-to-day life. This introspection may involve
recalling specific instances, routine chores, and emotional nuances that might otherwise be
overlooked. Striking the right chord between sentimentality and objectivity is crucial to avoid
turning the essay into a mere list of activities.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in transforming mundane tasks into a compelling narrative.
Describing how one helps their mother in a way that engages the reader demands a creative
approach. The writer must infuse the essay with vivid details, evocative language, and perhaps
even a touch of humor to make the content relatable and interesting.
Conveying the emotional aspects of the relationship with one's mother without veering into
sentimentality is another hurdle. Striking a balance between expressing gratitude, showcasing
empathy, and maintaining a genuine tone can be a delicate task. It requires careful consideration
of language, tone, and the overall structure of the essay to ensure that the sentiments are
authentic and resonate with the reader.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "How I Help My Mother" requires a skillful blend
of introspection, creativity, and emotional intelligence. While the task may seem straightforward
at first, the challenge lies in presenting personal experiences in a compelling and relatable manner.
It is a journey of self-discovery and storytelling that demands a thoughtful and nuanced
approach.

2. Rene Descartes Third Meditation Summary
In Rene Descartes Third Meditation, his purpose is to prove whether God exists,
and if so then whether or not God is a deceiver. This mediation allows us to be sure
that when we perceive things there is no way that they could be wrong. Descartes
believed that God created our mind and situated us in this world, with this being said,
God should have given you a mindthat reaches true conclusions about the world on
each and every occasion. Your mind isn t incapable of making mistakes or being
wrong. Basically, Descartes is trying to prove that God wouldn t have given you a
mind that would leave you to false beliefs about the world for the simple fact that
that would make God a deceiver. Therefore, Descartes thinks that God created us
with minds that have the capacity to attain true beliefs about the world. We are
neither infallible nor hopelessly trapped by falsehood. Rather, we are somewhere in
between: We can reach true beliefs if we are careful about how we use the minds that
God bestowed upon us. He shows that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By Descartes thought, if you carefully inspect the beliefs to make sure that they are
clear and distinct, then we could be absolutely certain that the beliefs are correct.
Descartes uses the concept of clear and distinct ideas to prove a few different
arguments. A clear and distinct idea is an idea that you have in your conscious
mind of something that feels so completely true and utterly real that you can t
possibly doubt it. The idea of God, somewhat who is perfect, was clear and distinct
to Descartes, but just because he believes this is true does not necessarily mean it is
true. Because of this, he goes about trying to show that the presence of clear and
distinct ideas in our conscious mind proves that God does exist. Clear and distinct
ideas are undoubtly very important for Descartes, they allow him to define what it is

Is a hero only someone who does all good things? Most times when asked to think
of words to describe a hero the words courageous, loyal, determined, and many
more come to mind. It is not always the case that a particular hero portrays all the
characteristics, but they offer a faint trace of each characteristic. Brutus shows the
qualities to be both a hero and a villain, but his outstanding hero characteristics
outweigh nearly nonexistent villain characteristics. While someone may believe that
Brutus was a villain, he is a hero because he will be remembered as noble, he
thought that he was doing something good, and he had a deadly flaw that lead him to
trust everyone. Brutus will be remember as a hero in the Roman world because

Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of Powers The separation of
powers, originally established by Baron Montesquieu in De l Esprit des Lois (1748)
can be seen as an integral part of any constitution. Montesquieu voiced the necessity
for a separation of the primary three bodies: the executive, the legislature and the
judiciary.
In Lord Woolf s statement: The separation of powershas never been part of the
framework of our unwritten Constitution. He is clearly stating that he believes that

This of course is a clear breach of Montesquieu s doctrine.
This led Lord Hailsham to refer to the arrangement (A Government with a majority)
as an elective dictatorship . However, although it is a clear breach, it may be noted
that out of 659 MP s only approximately 100 are Cabinet Ministers, so the
Government are outnumbered in any case.
To a large extent, the judiciary form a separate body from both the executive and the
legislature. It has been said, that as the United Kingdom has an unwritten Constitution
we have a need for trust and accountability in our public bodies and another need to
enhance the credibility and effectiveness of our public institutions. This is further
recognized by Lord Steyn: Central to the Rule of Law in a modern democratic
society is the principle that the judiciary must be, and must be seen to be, independent
of the executive. However, although this has been firmly established, judges are

6. Analysis Of She Walks In Beauty By Lord Byron
Born in 1788, George Gordon Byron, commonly known as Lord Byron, was an
English poet and one of the most famous poets of the romantic era. Romanticism was
one of the most influential poetic movements in which brought Lord Byron into the
literary forefront. Although he has many famous literary works, She Walks in
Beauty is one of his most favourable poems. The poem was inspired by a woman
wearing a mourningful dress whilst at a ball. Love is the overarching theme, focusing
mainly on captivating love. This is seen by the overwhelming sense of his attention
that is captivated by her and the fact that the woman seems unobtainable. Through his
work, Lord Byron captured the reader s attention through the way he used literary
devices and the way he represented different genderrepresentations through the nature
of love.
From the very beginning, the nature of love in She Walks in Beauty is alluded to be
captivating. That is that the woman he sees is very attractive or interesting and that
she is taking up all of this thoughts and attention. Typically in this time period, the
beautiful women were blonde and pale, opposite to this is the woman portrayed in
this poem. The comparison to night and day or light and dark, two completely
opposite things, shows one really beautiful thing. In the first line the simile like the
night (Ln 1) established the initial beauty he saw. In addition, the use of the
personification in tender light (Ln 5) shows that through the woman s beauty his
7. Shakespeare s Influence On The Renaissance
The renaissance was both affected by and had affects on the art of its time and
later on. Whether this art be in the form of paintings or literature it clearly shows
today how the renaissance had taken time to affect everything around it. While
some pieces of art from this time period are as simple as a piece of canvas and
some color in the form of pigment, they have stood the test of time and held up not
only as beautiful images for us to see, but also as devices to give us a window into
the minds of those long past. This is exactly the kind of thing done today when
looking at artwork such as the Mona Lisa or even more so when reading one of the
many pieces of Shakespearian literature, Macbeth specifically.
Starting with the aftermath of the renaissance, Shakespeare was one of the most
ingenious writers of his time and still is today, being able to write play s that stand
their ground centuries later, think of as many writers with that effect as you can
and if you reach ten without Shakespeare I ll applaud you. Not many artists have
art that is known as well as Shakespeare and those that do deserve their spots just as
Shakespeare himself. Starting with Macbeth as our only needed example on the

8. Sonnet 95 Summary
In sonnet 95, the speaker depicts a paternal feeling while speaking to the addressee,
where indeed the poet reminds his audience about way appearance can be so
deceiving. The young man is relying on his good appearance to veil his sexual
immorality. Being that he is handsome and attractive, people are reluctant to
disapprove his behavior. In the first quadrant, the poet employs different stylistic
devices, which include simile, as the young manis likened to a fragrant rose, and on
the other hand, he is compared to a destructive worm, but all his dark side of life is
hidden under his good looking and charming nature. What is important about this
poem is the manner in which the speakerreminds the young man about his bad
behavior and draws examples that makes him feel sorry about what he does behind
his good looking nature. By the use of diction, imagery, diction, images, metaphors
and other figures of speech, such as tone of voice, allusions, syntax and structure of
the speech, the speaker warns the young man against his sexual immorality, and
reminds him that there are detrimental risks associated with his behavior if he does
not change.
In the first quadrant, the speaker examines both sides of the young man s life where
he looks at the darker and better sides but most importantly demonstrating the way
he misuses his good looking ability to commit sexual crimes. However, the speaker
does not condemn it openly but appreciates his good look how sweet and lovely (1),

Sony Entertainment Hacking
Introduction
Information technology is the new topic in the world which has been mostly
developed in the past decade. The management of the information has been a top
priority in this world of data science. And every day there is new leaks of
information by different means .These IT failures come with a huge economic
loss. Research show that IT failures each year costs a 2% average cumulative
abnormal drop in stock prices over a 2 day event window (Bharadwaj et al. 2009).
On these report, I am going to investigate the cyber attack Sony faced which shook
the whole corporation industry in America.

11. The Importance Of Eminent Domain
How safe do you think your property is? Eminent domain is the right of the
government to take private property for public use for fair compensation. It is
described in the U.S. Constitution as the Fifth Amendment which states: ( Annotation
14 Fifth Amendment FindLaw. Findlaw. N.p., n.d. Web. 28 Apr. 2016.) nor shall
private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. This right is to
only be used for times of war and emergencies but lately the government s control
over this power has taken a turn for the worse. Eminent domain is being abused by
the government and the result is the destruction of communities and opportunities for
the minority. Eminent domain is only meant to be used in times of war and
emergencies. An example of the correct usage of this right would be the building of
interstate highways during the Cold Warera for quick evacuation of key cities and

It is not the owner s choice on whether or not to exchange their property and take
the government s offer. This has forced residents for their property for over 300
years. This leads to problems like the poor being left homeless and the destruction
of small local societies. Many consider this right to be unfair and have grievances.
An article from the FEE s website states: (Boudreaux, Donald J. The Dangers of

power can seize control over more than just people s private property, but can even
take control of the presses and studios which control the media. All of this property
is taken for social benefit when it is actually for one s own

Billy Joel is one of the best selling solo artists of all time in the United States.

Always a Woman, all with good reason. Having written a plethora of memorable
songs that could easily be added to the soundtrack of our lives, Billy Joels

The musical legend was born William Martin Joel on May 9, 1949 to Howard and
Rosalind Joel. He grew up in the suburb of Hicksville, New York, in a rather
musical home. His father was a classically trained pianist while his mother would
sing along to songs. Billy tried his luck with the piano too, pounding on the keys at
a very young age until his mother took him to take piano lessons at age 4. It wasn t
long before he took to it, and eventually he became so skilled that he could have
been considered a professional by the time he was a teenager.
Billy Joel joined a total of 3 bands before becoming a solo artist. The first group he
joined was called the Echoes, a cover band that quickly gained popularity and
would later be known as the Lost Souls. While enjoying the success of his first band,
Billy Joel saw the Beatles iconic performance on the Ed Sullivan Show and was
inspired to pursue a career as a professional musician. As a result, he dropped out of
high school at age 17 and devoted his life to a musical career.
After leaving the Echoes, Joel would would go on to join two

Invasive species have been around competing against the native species for a long

changes the living habitat forever. In some cases, the introduction to an invasive

White Noise
The world...is crowded, not necessarily with occupants and not at all with memorable
experiences, but with happenings; it is a ceaseless flow of seductive trivialities
which invoke neither reflection, nor choice but instant participation. (Oakeshott) The
idea of the lacking of realness is one of the major themes carried out throughout the
novel White Noise by Don DeLillo, especially through the device of the television.
For most people there are only two places in the world. Where they live and their

This theme of consumerism is one of the strongest driving forces in the novel, which
explains why the role of the television is so important. TV s commercial emergence
coincides with the golden age of Fordism. (McCarthy 2) The television thrives merely
on the ratings that bring about an enlarged group of commercial viewers, and the
more viewers, the more money is brought in through commercials and advertising.
Although many people believe that they themselves are not influenced by advertising,
no one can escape the brief moments of mind numbing product awareness being
drilled into their heads.
Even if these advertisements do not cause some people to immediately go out and
by the products, commercial images linger in their minds, leaving shadowforms
that shape perception and experience. (Yehnert 4) This idea is portrayed in White
Noise when Jack and Murray go visit the Most Photographed Barn in America.
(DeLillo 12 13) The image mediates everything, for the barn would be nothing
special at all without the advertised title of the most photographed . Knowing this
about the barn, viewing it becomes a new way of seeing and being . (Yehnert 4)
Murray seems to be one of the only characters in the book that truly realizes and
appreciates this phenomenon and points out that once you ve seen the advertisements
for the barn it becomes impossible to actually see the barn itself. These images

17. Summary Of Ten Questions By Joel M. Charon
The study of sociology is the study of a society and how people behave in these
societies. According to Joel M. Charon in his book Ten Questions, he states that
Sociology is an academic discipline, an attempt to seek knowledge and understanding
through painstaking and critical investigation (Charon 3). In other words, it is an
attempt to become knowledgeable about of different societies and people in those
societies work together. When studying sociology, a person is trying to understand
human society and how humans act and react to certain situations presented to them
in their society. It also seeks to understand how much a person will interact with their
society.
When Charon first discusses society he says, Society is not simply a bunch of
individuals; it constitutes a larger whole, a reality that it is more than the sum of
the individuals who make it up (Charon 5). This means that society does not mean
lots of people in the same place, it is people living together as a community, having
relationships with each other and having a similar or the same culture. A culture
can be defined as a way of life for a group of people within their society. Living in a
place where everyone comes from the same culture does not necessarily mean that
you automatically have a well working society. While culture is very important to a
society, it is important for the people living there to be able to establish relationships
with the people living around them. For a society to thrive, the

As humans, why do, we feel the need to destroy everything that we see? Why is it
that if it does not make us more money than it is not worth it? The Earth, the only
planet in our little solar system to contain intelligent life and the only use we can
find with that intelligence is to destroy one another and the planet we live on. Ever
since the beginning of time humans have only cared about themselves and now
that greed is destroying our planet. The pollution of this planet is astronomical,
rivers and parts of the ocean filled with trash and the skies over cities have been
blackened by smog. When will all of this end and why do we have to do this to
ourselves. Did you know that it is more cost efficient to just throw something away
in a landfill than to recycle. Same thing goes for sewage and chemical wasteit is a
million times cheaper to dump it in the ocean than spend the money, man hours and
resource to filter the waste. Air pollution is the most intoxicating, people assume
because they cannot see it therefore it does not exist. These are common forms of
humandestruction to the environment. But the real question is when are we going to
stop this destruction from consuming our planet until there is nothing left but death.
Humans are greedy, I know this, but it does not give you the right under no
circumstance to destroy the Earthbecause you are too lazy to recycle or filter your
own waste. We only have one Earth do you want it to end up like the Earth in Wall E

balance/coordination based ailments including: (1) Tai chi, (2) yoga, (3) video

Rotational exercises have also been shown to effectively train balance abilities
(Brant, 2001, Nyabenda 2003). While free weights may improve coordination,
safety needs to be considered before incorporating them into your program. Safety
should also be considered before recommending water based activities because
directional disorientation could lead to drowning, if an attack occurred underwater.
Overall the personal trainer must consider the unique aspect of the Meniere s

preferences before designing a training plan. It is imperative that safety precautions

In this essay, I will explain the historical and contemporary meaning of the English

are written by various scholars in the culture and linguistic realm, who have different
insights and opinions of the dominance of the English language. I will integrate Ngugi

Crystal continues by revealing his opinion on the future of the English language and
its global undertaking.
English has been labeled the global language and is spoken and read in every country
around the world. The reasons behind the phenomena are directly related to the
British empire. The global language of English gained its status by developing a
special role within non English communities which can be found in each country. The
role is having a large majority of the country understanding a language and its context.
The global media that is saturated within the current society spreads language, which
is English, across borders into countries that conform to the English content. Crystal
explains that wherever you travel you see English signs and advertisements (Crystal
44), even though English is not fluently spoken in such countries.
There are positive and negative implications of English being the global language.
Crystal explains the benefits as, pride that your language is the one which has been
so successful (Crystal 46). The other advantage to a global language is it is a
worldwide language and there is no reason to learn other languages. Crystal also
believes having a dominant language like English will bring harmony and peace
because there will be no misunderstandings. Although, Crystal continues by
explaining the negatives as other people can change it without

Jacqueline Bacon, African American writer, quoted Samuel Cornish and John
Russwurm in her essay Freedom s Journal, The First African American Newspaper:
We wish to plead our own cause. Too long have others spoken for us (Brown 13).
This quote gave slaves a sense of empowerment to stand up for themselves and no
longer be property, but people. The Freedom Journal is the first African American
newspaper that was published in March 16, 1827 in New York City by free black
men Samuel Cornish and John Russwurm. They felt that a national newspaper will
give them a chance to have freedom to voice their opinions about public debates.
Through their process of creating their newspaper they endured many trials of deal
with hatred and being criticized for their choices. Through the time of creating the
newspaper they were able to establish a black free communities. Beginning in the
1780s, a first generation of leaders began to address issues if identity, self
determination, and group consciousness. They did so against a backdrop of racism,
oppression, violence, and tension within the new republic about slaveryand the place
of free African American in the nation ( Brown 14). Richard Allen, Frederick
Douglass, and Solomon Northrup are leaders for overcoming slavery, shaping African
American history, and creating a community for blacks to come together. These three
influential people pleaded their case to gain their own voice and identity.

24. The American Outdoor Education Movement
Throughout my studies at Utah Valley University I have had the privilege of learning
a vast amount about the history of the American outdoor education movement. Since
I know so much about the American movement, I was interested in exploring the
outdoor education movements in Europe. I specifically wanted to compare and
contrast the differences and similarities between Europe s movements and the
exploits of Gifford Pinchot and John Muir. I focused on understanding these
differences in regards to the individuals, unions, and philosophies that drove both
movements.
The American outdoor education movement was really spawned from the fortitude
of early American conservationists. They worked to establish the National Parks
movement, which has resulted in the preservation of precious land which can be
admired today. Over 143 years ago the National Parks movement was formally
established, and then 20 years later John Muir created the Sierra club. When
examining the timeline of the early American outdoor movement, you can see how
these actions led to the eventual creation of the Wildlife Refuge System by America
s first known conservationist in the White house, Teddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt was
truly visionary with his planning of the National Parks service, but it wasn t until the
latter Roosevelt was in office with his spring of New Deal programs that we saw the
modern American outdoor education movement we see today.
The great depression played a large role in the United States

Throughout the story, The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, uses of propaganda are
displayed. Sinclair applies numerous hyperboles and unrealistic ideas/scenarios to his
novel. This can be proven through the Calamities that befall on Jurgis and his
immigrant family. Sinclair describes the conditions of the family as well as their
workplaces. His true goal was to display the hardships of immigrants caused by
politics, economics, and industry. Therefore, his exaggeration use is applied to gain
the attention of the public through the use of propaganda. This was an attempt to
abolish the corrupt system of politics and industry that caused for many immigrants

This is a prime example of how changes within the economy are effecting those who
work for the banks and also customers of the bank.
It could be argued that making changes can help economy as more avenues have
been introduced giving customers more choice. This allows for any customer who
works antisocial hours take control of their banking, it allows for every customer to
be treated fairly as everyone has the same opportunities with their banking. For
example savings account online normally have a higher interest rate to those offered
in branch these accounts are optional for every customer however you need to bank
online to manage the account therefore you automatically introducing yourself to a
new avenue of banking.
It could be argued that making changes is harming the economy as manual labour is

strain on the government this would then be costing the government.

the Muggle (non wizard people) setting till the age of eleven when he received his

Snape was once a Death Eater and therefore implying his loyalty towards Lord
Voldemort (Goblet of Fire). We know very little about the early life of Snape
making it easy to believe that Voldemort and his ideologies were something Snape
greatly admired, ( Snape knew more curses when he arrived to school then half of
the kids in seventh year , according to Sirius Black). Snape had also invented a
curse too, Sectumsempra (Half Blood Prince), which is rare for a student. He
demonstrated no qualms to use the word mudblood (a foul word used for the
muggle born or the impure) in the most derogatory sense (as Harry witness during
his visit into Snape s worst memory in the Order of the Phoenix). He also fancied a
nickname for himself, The Half Blood Prince, highlighting his wizarding
heritage. These small facts, when taken together, are indicative to the reasons
Snape may have chosen to become a Death Eater. His words and actions
throughout the series indicate his need for power and respect, two attributes that
the wizarding world accords to the Dark Lord, which may have been the strongest
reason behind his decision to be Voldemort s follower and join the Death Eaters in
his youth. Snape and Voldemort share the same tactic of intimidation through
fear. However, the power and respect accorded to Voldemort was also accorded The
Great Dumbledore. Moreover Dumbledore could offer two things to Snape that
Voldemort could not and if could would not care to due to his selfish nature, and
that is, unwavering trust and true friendship. Snape may have been Voldemort s
favourite but he shows distrust in Snape when he appoints Peter Pettigrew to be

Lexical decision evaluates how quickly a person can classify words and non words
through the use of stimuli s. The conditions of the study facilitated manipulations in
visual and auditory stimuli s to measure reaction time and accuracy when exposed to
different circumstances, such as the auditory stimuli matching/mismatching the
visual stimuli/words. This study found that congruent and incongruent conditions
impacts accuracy and reaction time when choosing if the type of letter string
presented is either a pseudo word or a word. This finding suggests congruent or
matching auditory words and visual words assists people in quickly recognizing a
word or non word and is more accurate with their decision. Incongruent or
mismatched auditory words and visual words slow down peoples decision making
and minimizes their choice from being correct. In addition, the findings of the study
also suggest that pseudo words and words had no effect on a person s accuracy but
rather their reaction time. The result for the types of letter string administered in the
experiment proposed that the visual stimuli s/words does not interfere with a person
from correctly making a decision, but makes people slower in making a decision.

Elle Woods was the typical sorority girl while at CULA she loved shopping; her

Overview
The Edwards Air Force Base located in Antelope Valley in Southern California was
built to test new aircraft and help integrate them into the U.S. Air Force. The site
became a flight test center after World War II. As an air base, many chemicals and
fuel are stored here and throughout its history there have been spills and improper
disposals. This became an environmental hazard when the contaminants began to seep
into the ground. The EPA, the Air Force, and two state agencies signed a Federal
Facility Agreement in 1990 to address this issue.

Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) is a semi volatile organic compound suspected of
being a carcinogen and is a known hepatotoxin. Some of the less harmful

protected under the United States copyright law:
The most recent revision of the U.S. copyright law, made in 1978, is far more

literature, music, drama, pantomime, choreography, pictorial, graphical and

34. Summary Of Katie Hammil s Sense And Sensibility
Katie Hammil s play Sense and Sensibility, adapted from Jane Austen s novel of the
same name, is about reservedness and openness and how both behaviors can cause
misunderstanding, but ultimately result in the same outcome, which is revealed
through the play s characterization of the two Dashwood sisters, and the conflict
between them, which is all highlighted by the lighting and costume design as well as
the acting in the Playmakers Repertory Company production. Elinor Dashwood
(Shanelle Nichole Leonard) and her sister Marianne Dashwood(Emily Bosco) are
two people of very different temperaments. Elinor is characterized as reserved, and
she works to restrain her emotions for the sake of decorum and because she
believes it is unseemly. I WILL be mistress of myself, she exclaims as Edward
Ferrars (Rishan Dhamija) appears at the end of the play, in the scene Edward is
Married (106). Marianne, on the other hand, is a lot more open about her
emotions, and is characterized as a more lively and sensitive young woman. Elinor
s personality causes her to bottle up her feelings toward Edward, making her
extremely unhappy, while Marianne s willingness to love Willoughby (Geoffrey
Culbertson) results in him taking advantage of her. The sisters s differences
causes conflict between them, as they cannot understand why the other acts as she
does. Elinor desperately wishes her sister would be more composed, while
Marianne wishes Elinor would be more uninhibited. This often leaves them at odds
with one another, as seen in the end of the scene Brandon s Letter. Ultimately,
however, both sisters are able to find romance and a happy ending, and can finally
begin to learn from their mistakes and accept each other for how they are. Both
young women s temperaments are reflected in their costumes, designed by Olivera
Gajic. Throughout the entirety of the play, Elinor wears a dress of light blue, a
color that implies ice and coldness, which mirrors her tendency to be emotionally
cold. In fact, Marianne even teases her sister in the scene Marianne and Elinor by
referring to her as Cold hearted Elinor! (14). Also, in the beginning of the play,
Elinor wears a neck kerchief, as if covering herself up both

Lysistrata amuses audiences through different comedic techniques to explore
complex themes that Lysistrata puts forward. Many of these themes can be related
within today s society. The main themes that are presented within the play Lysistrata
are obedience, the woman are no longer prepared to obey the men and this gives up
the typical stereotype of traditional house wife s and mothers. Another theme is sex,
the women use sex as a weapon to fight against the men to stop fighting in the war

this the women refuse any sexual activity with the men until the war has been

the men to end the war that they are fighting in. The theme of war within Lysistrata

36. Essay On The Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
Throughout the novel, Lord Of The Flies, by William Golding, there are multiple
objects through the novel that have a large impact on the group of boys. Some
objects or materials are brought into the book that might help them in a specific way,
or even influence the killing of some boys, but none of them had been an influence
for as long as the conchshell was. Objects came and went throughout the novel, but
the conch really stuck to the boys on the island, influencing them from beginning to
end in physical and mental ways. Overall, the conch shell is hands down one of the
most important of not, then the most important object that is brought into the novel,
and brought up throughout the novel. In the beginning of the novel, the conch is
considered a significant part of it, because of the ways that it helps the boys. The
two boys that found the conch in the beginning of the novel were Ralph and Piggy,
who had just gotten off of the crashed plane on the deserted island. Ralph and Piggy
then spotted it after talking for a little while sitting in the mud in a lagoon. When
they finally got it out of the lagoon, they exchanged comments about it, with both of
them passing it back and forth to each other. Piggy was holding when he made the

In the implementation and sustenance of JIT, psychological factors also play a vital
role. Little consideration of the complexities involved in psychological pattern of
employees and suppliers would reveal a vast field hitherto explored in the
manufacturing environment. Every manufacturing practice has two elements; one is
the technical element and other is the human element. In this paper, we attempt to
understand the criticalities involved in the human element of the JIT practice. For
this purpose, we researched upon the various factors affecting the human element and
present the information in the following order. Firstly, we list down the factors or
characteristics that would enable JIT to be successfully implemented and sustained.
Secondly, we attempt to gain in depth understanding these factors thru the research
workconducted by work psychologist and how these factors behave in molding the
implementation. Thirdly, we present how these factors are handled in industries and
what are the possible solutions presented by academic and industries entities to tackle
the challenges posed by these factors and its relations.
Academic research not only concentrated on the traditional cross cultural psychology
like leadership, motivation, work values etc. but also staffing, performance
management and employee health and safety. These research will better able to

While I had thought initially to matriculate into the English Department, it seems to

This leaves my pressing question of What do I do in the writing classroom? like

Well, perhaps tomorrow. But tomorrow never arrives, in accordance with the
axiom. A typical course sequence is one in which the greater part of the semester is
spent discussing theories and issues surrounding the teaching of writing, practice
and application are mentioned briefly or in passing, and at the end of the semester
students are charged with creating a writing class syllabus. That being the end of
the course, presumably students are now prepared to actually teach the course they
have designed. However, that most demanding educator experience has taught me
that this is not a good strategy. Despite spending an enormous amount of time

having numerous discussions with peers about their experiences with teaching a

realities of it. I had cobbled together the class without supervision, without
39. To Kill A Mockingbird And Valley Of The Dolls
In the mid 1960s the United States involved itself in the conflict between Communist
and anti communist forces in the country of Vietnam. This involvement, although
resulting in a humiliating defeat for the U.S, affected culture in ways both large and
miniscule. These effects include influence on novels and films, changes in the
conductivity of mass media, and a split of culturewithin the U.S.
Over the duration of the Vietnam War popular culturetended to deal with the war
indirectly, certainly including it in novels and films, yet perhaps not intending to
incorporate it in works. There are many works which reflect issues in American
society and issues brought about by the war, such as the novels To Kill A
Mockingbird and Valley of the Dolls. (Digital) To Kill A Mockingbird focuses
mainly upon the racial tensions occurring in the deep south of America an issue in
American society. Valley of the Dolls, both a popular novel and film at the time,
focuses upon effects of the war and the use of drugs (Bookrags). For films and
media which intentionally incorporated or covered aspects of the Vietnam War,
most were interpreted as negative. Films portrayed the war as a swampy, fiery hell
peopled by psychopaths while mass media portrayed the Vietnam vet as problematic
and neglected a scraggly and deranged outcast with a rumpled boony hat, a legless
victim converted to pacifism, a returning P.O.W. scarred by unspeakable horrors

Councillor Joe Cressy is a great supporter of the park and believes the city needs to
commit to building the new parkland even though the budget might be tight due to
other necessities like transit. He believes this is another priorities like the others
which the city need to build if they want a livable city and an equitable city City
staff will rely on development charges , donations, sponsorships and government
grants to fund the park The city might rezone the area as parkland to prevent any
developers from buying off the land The downtown core is one of the most park
deficient areas of the city The population of downtown is expected to double from
200,000 in 2011 to 475,000 by 2041 According to city staff Rail deck park is the last
opportunity for the city to build a large park in downtown. City staff are also
exploring other park options which might be cheaper The least expensive will be
south of Front St It will be 1.4 acre park and would cost an estimated $16.4 million
to build If city council accepts the park a work plan would be ready by the end 2017

41. The Fiction Genre Of Gothic Fiction
The Literary fiction genre of Gothic, including Crime and Horror, usually features a
figure of Otherness as either the protagonists of antagonists of the story. The noun
Otherness is used in this context to describe a being that is different from the norm.
This could be a creature that is not human at all or an individual as representation of a
minority group in the human society, in either race, class, sexuality or gender. These
figure often have the function of discussing issues, such as homosexuality or gender
inequality. Gothic fictionof the nineteenth century specifically used the body of the
monster to produce race, class, gender and sexuality within narratives about the
relation between subjectivities and certain bodies. ... Show more content on

The most famous vampire however, is Bram Stoker s Dracula , antagonist of the
eponymous novel that was first published in the year 1897. Since its popularity in
Victorian Gothic literature, the versatile creature has never lost its position as one
of the most used monsters in fiction, not only restricted to the genre of Horror. The
vampire is able to adapt to every generation without any difficulties and thereby
avoids being exposed in its Otherness. In Victorian times as well as contemporary
times, the vampire is used to raise attention to social anxieties and fears about
differences in mankind. In the early nineteenth century, one of the biggest threats to
humanity were contagious illnesses, such as tuberculosis and syphilis. After the
fast increasing of cities during the Industrialisation, illnesses spread more quickly
and every member of society could be infected. Being turned into a vampire was
often used as an image of the outbreak of a lethal illness. One the most apparent
similarities between a lethal disease and the transformation to a vampire is the
infectiousness through blood or other bodily fluids. The way Dracula s victims are
infected is through exchange of blood, which is how sexual transmitted diseases,
like syphilis or nowadays the similarly as lethal AIDS, are carried. Bruce Hale offers
a description of the development of cholera in Victorian times: thirst and dehydration;
sever pain in the limbs, stomach, and abdominal muscles; a change skin hue to a

effect is more relevant when the reflectors are closer to the antennas and
particular for the 500 MHz antenna (Table 3). The horizontal resolution obtained
for the 1 GHz and 800 MHz is very similar and much better than for the 500 MHz.
As expected, horizontal resolution worsens as the reflectors are moved away from
the frequency, mainly because their footprint size gets larger. In radargrams (a) and

In general, the vertical resolution it is better to use wooden bars. The higher
reflection coefficient of the metallic bars makes the tail of the reflected pulse
in the п¬Ѓrst bar strong enough to blur the second one when the two bars are close to
each other. This effect is noticeable in the results obtained with the 500 MHz. The
horizontal resolution worsens as the reflectors are separated from the frequency
because the footprint gets larger. The simulation and experimental values range
approximately from О»/2 to 2О» for the high frequency. The results obtained for
different frequency, the wavelengths converge when the bars are buried far from the
antennas. In the horizontal resolution, the influence of the reflector s material is
smaller. The best resolution is obtained with the 1 GHz as its resolution is slightly
better than for the 800
43. The Issue Of Bullying At School
In this week assignment I am going to describe an issue that I passionate about it.
Bully is an issue that destroys a family specialist the kid involve in the situation.
Those children can experience negative physical, school, and mental health issues.
Kids who are bullied are more likely to experience. Depression and anxiety,
increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns, and
loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy. These issues may persist into
adulthood. Three actions that I would take to address the issue with bullyingat school
and the challenges I might encounter taking the action to address each and achieve
my goals.
The issue of bullying at school is one of the issues I passionate person because I
have the experience three years ago with my own son. I think that s something that
help to recognize that something was not right with my son s was seeing him
getting isolating himself in his room after school and himself too sensitive and he
use to cry for everything and anything into my son feel comfortable to share with me
what he was experiencing at school being bullied and being physically abused by one
his classmates.
The first thing I did as a parents remind me son that he was not alone and he has a
hundred percent of support his family, then I went to school and requested a meeting
with the teacher and principal and the parent of other children because to me was
going to be the last time I will have a type

It was Jem s turn to cry. His face was streaked with angry tears as we made our way
through the cheerful crowd. It ain t right, he muttered... (Lee 284). The realistic
fiction novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and the historical fiction novel,
Mississippi Trial, 1955 by Chris Crowe, both share many characteristics. Both novels
take place in the Civil Rights Era American south and revolve around the unjust trial
of an African Americancharacter. By the events that take place in the two novels, a
universal theme is revealed: Changing Attitudes Through Knowledge . Through
common experiences in Southern towns, both Jem and Hiram exhibit similar views
on the treatment of African Americans, experience comparable changes in the way
they view their role model, and are forced to surrender their optimistic attitudes
towards justice and individual integrity. Hiram of Mississippi Trial, 1955 and Jem of
To Kill a Mockingbirdboth show a dislike towards the prejudice and poor treatment
that some people give to African Americans. They do not understand how white
people can treat Negroes with so much contempt and hatred. After the trial of Tom
Robinson, in which a guilty verdict was announced in spite of the utter lack of
incriminating evidence, Jem shows disagreement with the verdict. The outcome
deeply affects him, and he is profoundly afflicted by the injustice of the verdict. Jem
was suddenly furious. He leaped off the bed, grabbed me by the collar and shook me.

45. Essay On Rosa Coldfield Absalom
Samantha McCann Professor Sarah Luria Touchstones II 16 April 2018 Rosa
Coldfield s Pursuit of a Proper Place William Faulkner s complex masterpiece,
Absalom, Absalom! tells a story about how inhabitants of the Old South find
themselves entangled in a world of hurt and haunted by the extreme pressure of the
past. Rosa Coldfield, the first character Faulkner introduces in the novel, is one such
inhabitant who struggles to come to grips with history. The maiden spinster never
surrenders her Old Southern lens of the world and remains forever fixated on her
notions of what might have been, despite the Old South crumbling around her (115).
Rosa finds herself continuously isolated from the other characters, yet she repetitively
entwines her narrative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why does she consistently involve herself in the lives of those around her,
attempting to become not just a wife or mother but also a daughter, sister, or aunt?
I argue Miss Rosa Coldfield spends her entire life trying to build connections with
other characters since she struggles to find her proper role in the Old Southern
patriarchy. From the beginning of her existence, Rosa Coldfield lacks a standing in
her family, yet she continues searching for a role. The house, normally the heart of
family life, becomes an ironic representation of her lack of standing. As Shreve
comments, Rosa grew up in a household like an overpopulated mausoleum (144). A
mausoleum is defined as a stately building erected to house tombs (OED). With these
words, Faulkner generates a tone of sorrow and isolation surrounding Rosa s
childhood, explaining how she grew up in a home overpopulated with death. Her
mother died giving birth to her, and her father mounted to the attic with his
hammer...and nailed the door behind him (65). The hammer, a tool for striking with
great force, usually represents strength and protection. Ironically, Mr. Coldfield uses
the hammer to destroy his relationship with his daughter, putting a literal barrier (the
nailed shut door) between them to represent the divide. By boarding
46. The Sugar Of Sugar And Sugar
Percent Sugar Lab
Purpose: To determine the percent of sugar in soda, produce, or other grocery product.
Introduction: Every day people eat food to provide them with nutrients that they need
to survive. Food supplies a person with energy, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and
minerals they need for life. But do people consider how much sugar is in the food and
drinks they ingest? In this lab the student calculated the amount of sugar found in
foods and drinks they ingested every day to find that they were consuming too much
sugar. In addition to this task, the student was then able to target the food or drinks
that they were consuming that had the most sugar, the foods or drinks that they
should eat or drink less of.
Procedure: The nutritional facts from actual items found in the kitchen or grocery
store were used to calculate the percent of sugar in food and drinks. Three drinks,
fruits or vegetables, and four other food products were chosen by the student. The
student collected the information about these items using the nutritional facts found
on the package. The ten items were recorded in the data table below. The mass of one
serving size of each item was recorded in the table below. The mass of sugar in one
serving size of each item was recorded in the table below.
