Wah Garden was originally developed as a rest stop for Mughal emperors traveling between Kabul, Kashmir, and Lahore. It evolved over many years under different emperors with additions like baradaris, terraces, and water features.
Emperor Jahangir and Emperor Shah Jahan visited Wah Garden frequently and left detailed accounts praising its natural springs, waterfalls, and lush surroundings. Emperor Aurangzeb stayed there for over a year and had additional structures built.
The garden has fallen into disrepair but excavations have uncovered its original layout including a central pool fed by springs, bathing chambers, and a carefully designed water channel system flowing
