This document provides information for parents about their child's Primary 7 class with Mrs. Andison. It outlines the homework expectations, lunch procedures, class charter focused on rights and responsibilities, behavior policies, class supplies needed, achievement celebrations, and the first term topic which will be WWII integrated across subjects. Parents are asked to label all student belongings, provide gym clothes and supplies, check homework diaries daily, and notify the teacher of any questions or concerns.

7. HOMEWORK
• Spelling – Weekly
• Reading – Weekly, Reading for Enjoyment for first
term then group novels
• Maths – Weekly practise of tables

8. LUNCHES
• School lunches can be ordered every day.
• The school uses an online payment system.
• This can be used to order lunches from home.
• Saves the children or parents having to sort or look
after money.
Children have the opportunity to earn Finer Diner with
good behaviour in the dinner hall.

9. CLASS CHARTER
• Children have looked at the UN
Convention on the Rights of the Child.
• They identified rights they felt were
most relevant to maintaining the
Ready, Respectful, Safe ideas that
they had.
• From this they created the Class
Charter and have all agreed to follow
the statements chosen.

10. BEHAVIOUR
• There are high expectations of behaviour in the P7 class.
• Children are aware of expectations.
• Children are encouraged to reflect on their behaviour and
the rights of others in order to make a better choice.
• Positive behaviour is awarded with dojo points and verbal
praise.
• Negative behaviour results in the use of the corrective
action flow chart and other appropriate consequences.
• Restorative approaches are used to resolve conflict.

11. P7 HOUSEKEEPING
• Please make sure your child has their name on everything.
• Please ensure your child has gym/soft shoes in class at all
times for health and safety reasons and to protect the floor
coverings.
• Please make sure they have pencils and rubbers.
• Please send a water bottle.
• Juice will only be allowed at break and lunch.
• Please ensure your child has a gym kit in school for Tuesdays
and Thursdays.
• Please check homework diaries daily and sign once homework
is completed and if there are any comments from the
teacher.

12. WIDER ACHIEVEMENTS
• We like to celebrate your child’s achievements
from outside school at assembly on a Friday and in
class at appropriate times.
