9. P3 Housekeeping
• Please make sure your child has their name on
everything.
• Please ensure your child has gym/soft shoes in class
at all times for health and safety reasons and to
protect the floor coverings.
• Please make sure they have pencils and rubbers.
• Please send a filled water bottle every day.
• Juice is only allowed at break and lunch.
• Please ensure your child has a gym kit in school for
Monday and Wednesday.
• Library day is every second Thursday.
• Please check homework diaries daily and sign any
comments from the teacher.

• Spelling – Weekly.

• Topic – Homework occasionally
throughout the year.

11. Homework help
• Counting forwards and backwards. Forwards to
100. Backwards from 20.
• Counting on/back – steps of 2, 5 and 10.
• Number bonds to 10/20.
• Doubles & odd/even numbers.
• Telling the Time – Revise o’clock and half past.
Using quarter past, quarter to. Telling the time in 5
minute intervals.

12. Class Charter
• Children discussed the UN Convention
on the Rights of the Child.
• We identified rights we felt were
most relevant to making our classroom
a quality learning environment.
• From this we created the Class
Charter and have agreed to follow the
statements.
• We decided on rules for the class to
follow related to the Rights.

13. P3 Term 1 topic
• Term 1 – The Victorians.
• We are hoping to organise a trip
to New Lanark and a visit to the
school from West Lothian Museum
service.

14. Wider Achievements
• We like to celebrate your child’s
achievements from outside school at
assembly on a Friday and in class at
appropriate times.

15. Clubs
• We have many clubs going on in
the school.
• Dance – Monday (small charge)
• Gardening club – Tuesday (free)
• Library club – Thursday (free)
