the emphasis designated to each separate thought.
Though the device is important in every use, the uses following the first stanza are more important in

Mrs. Alice McLoughlin Doro is a Special Education teacher at Downers Grove South High School in
Downers Grove, Illinois. The community is known for its excellent school districts. According to the
2010 census there were 47, 833 people living in Downers Grove with approximately 19,000
households and 13,000 families. The racial makeup of the school was reported to be 88% White, 3%
African American, 5% Hispanic, 0.2% American Indian or Alaskan Native, 5% Asian, and 1.6% from
two or more races. About 1.7% of families were below the poverty line. The school district report card
reports the following racial/ethnic background for the school: 68.1% White, 10.3 African American,

Where does the term motivation come from? Is it from within an individual s mindset or is it the
dedication that an individual has that tends to be certain when a task is needs to be completed that it is
done is a positive manner? I believe that humans as a species are motivated in some form or fashion

recognition from the upper management, or even someone being motivated to move forward and

Communities near ports face extremely high health risks from associated air pollution . Many of these
areas are low income communities of color which raises environmental justice concerns. The health
effects of pollution from ports may include asthma, other respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease,

Reflection On Racism
Of course though the results of my analysis are bias (just like everyone else s) due to my friends and
my already developing political values but it is what I believe to be true. When I sat through that
lecture that day in class I was annoyed because it took me and others off guard and squandered our
time. It left me feeling as if me and my fellow students were separated based upon our races. It formed
a mental segregation in the class dividing us into our respected groups. This event did not frustrate me
because of the scholarship in itself, it was the fact that they were a government subsidised group and a
organization that practices any form of discrimination no matter if it is well intended or not should
never be funded by the federal government. These is what was basically running through my head
during the presentation and lead to me looking at the broader picture and how this could affect a
community or even society as a whole during the following days.I started to think of it in differing
points of view, although nearly impossible even trying to place myself in the shoes of the African
American students it helped to try and find a sturdy reasoning for the program. I found it insulting not
to me but to the very student it was praised for helping. If I was a African American student and was
