VICTOR
gabriela-teacher.blogspot.com
He started to study medicine
but he left it when he met the
abstract art of Mondrian,
Kandinsky, Malevich and
Gropius.
He worked mostly in Paris.
He had his unique style:
abstract geometrical designs,
use of optical effects to create
movement, perspective and
inestability…
He believed in a rational, exact,
scientific and calmed way to
create beauty.
In 1965 he participated in an
exhibition called “Responsive
eye”. The idea was to suggest
movement without the actual
movement. The art’s viewer
takes a really active
participation, being free to
interpret his images.
He called his technique
CINETISME
He used different techniques
(oil, gouache, acrylic, wood,
plastic…) but always a minimum
number of forms and colors.
He was the precursor of
OP ART
