This document provides step-by-step instructions for loading USN software from a USB thumb drive onto a Point of Sale terminal. It details rebooting the terminal, entering the BIOS, changing secure boot settings to allow booting from the USB drive, initiating the Windows PE environment from the drive, selecting installation options, and imaging the new software. Upon completion, the document specifies one additional post-installation task to edit a configuration file to resolve device listing issues.

1. Loading USN Software from USB Thumb Drive

2. Insert USB thumb drive
and connect keyboard
Reboot, press F2 or
Delete at POST
Enter the BIOS password
Whitelist all devices

3. Select yes by clicking the Enter button
Select ok by clicking the Enter button

4. Press the Esc key twice, right
arrow to Exit at the top
Select Exit Saving Changes
Select yes by clicking the
Enter key

5. Upon reboot,
press the Esc
key

6. Arrow to highlight
the Secure Boot
Option button
Select by clicking
Enter key

7. Enter the BIOS password
(caps)

8. Enforce Secure Boot
will be Enabled by
default
Select by clicking
the Enter key,
change to Disabled

9. Once Disabled,
click the F10
button to save
and exit

10. Upon reboot
click the F8
button

Break into the desktop

39. Navigate to C:ProgramFilesx86uGeniusPTM*Config
Find and open the file called: NCR.APTRA.VideoBankingDevicesArray.accfg

40. Extra devices are shown on network manager that do not exist and causing machine to
show in error state or missing modules that should show in network manager but are not.
To fix this, device array file needs to be edited to delete extra unused devices or add
devices.

41. Save and close the file.
At this point begin the customer specifics (Jaguar,
Encompass, branding, etc.)
