40. Community Guidelines
Remember that Twitter is a public forum….
DOs DON’Ts
Always be kind and respectful to your
instructor and classmates on and off line
Share copyrighted class material or
classmates’ private information without
prior consent
Check your tweets for spelling, grammar
and accuracy (e.g. use Grammarly)
Add the class hashtag to controversial or
sensitive topics
Add value to the class conversations and
use GIFs and emojis where appropriate
Share inappropriate or offensive
content/media (e.g. images)

41. Set Clear Expectations
● Encourage students to interact with
each other (not just you!)
● Mention that while you will see all
their tweets, you may not answer all
● Share grading rubrics for Twitter
participation
Wahiba Chair @WahibaChair
42. Collect Twitter Usernames (Early on)
● Create a shared file (e.g. Teams
shared notebook) and allow for extra
rows (e.g. for new students)
● Give students a deadline to add their
Twitter username to the file (e.g. by
week 2)
● Consider creating a public Twitter list

43. Measure Results
Wahiba Chair @WahibaChair
● Use tools such as Tweet Binder and
KeyHole to measure hashtag analytics
● Consider doing informal polls, and
asking students for feedback
● Twitter is a journey. Take it a step at a
time!
