Sustainable Architecture Advantages And Disadvantages
With global warming, the world s attention on building energy efficiency is increasing. There are a
large proportion of architects recognised that the main factor of global warming is the use of building
energy generated by CO2. Sustainable architecture is involving methods that do not completely use up
or destroy natural resources. There are several major elements need to be considered, such as
technology, economy and Health . However, architects pay their greatest attention to environment.
Because environment is the fundamental factor of others and influence humans life . Sustainable
architectures reduce the consumption of resources in order to save energy for nature and also green
buildings produce less pollution in order to save environment. Evidence suggests that sustainable
architectures are advantageous for environment.Whereas, other individuals states that sustainable
buildings get more drawbacks. This essay argues that the advantages of sustainable architecture far
outweigh the disadvantages in relation to technology , energy saving and economy.
With the development of technology, the invention and evolution of different materials can bring out
more possibility of sustainable architecture. Different materials can be used to describe incredible
design which looks The sustainable materials tend to reduce energy consumption. For instance
architect use renewable materials (such as wood ) to replace the consumption of non renewable
resources(such as original cement ).

Benefits Of A Good Credit Score
Having a good credit score is one of the best matters one can involve themselves in. Good credit can
ensure that one are able to pay for just about anything. From a new car to somebody s first house, it
can make or ruin anyone. Due to the importance of good credit, students frequently take advantage of
their college years as a valuable chance to glimpse into adulthood by beginning their steps toward
increasing that score. Considering the rising costs of tuition and the steep price of textbooks, it is not
uncommon to be incapable of paying for everything immediately. That is where credit comes it.
Credit score is a simple concept. It s a number that represents how often a person pays off debts they
owe from using a credit card. A credit card (different an a debit card), does not take money from its
owner. Instead, the owner is borrowing money it. At the end of the month, people receive bills from
everywhere they owe money. If people can pay them all off, their credit score will rise as a result. On
the other hand, if they fail to pay, that number drops. Once a payment is missed, a person s credit
score will receive a blow that will often be very troublesome to overcome. The higher the credit score
is, the more trustworthy people come across are to salespeople. 800 is a perfect credit score, and what
people strive towards. The college years are a perfect time to establish credit, as it is the first time in
their life where students realize that they will eventually need

Pride and Prejudice: Character Foil
In order for a novel or other literary work to become popular for its time and for an author s audience
to stay engaged and interested in the plot, there must include some sort of conflict or some sort of
contrast that creates that conflict. This conflict attracts the reader to the novel, wanting to read more.
This juxtaposition is achieved through a foil. Foil characters are characters that directly contrast the
traits or qualities of another character. Foil characters usually are the main character, the protagonist
shows traits that are opposite and emphasize the plot of the story, or even another character even
further. A foil, in the novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bennet characters when Mrs. Bennet pressures Elizabeth to marry her cousin, Mr. Collins almost
immediately after she learns about Elizabeth s rejection of his proposal. No matter how much Mrs.
Bennet talked to Elizabeth again and again; coaxed and threatened her by turns (Austen 76 77),
Elizabeth would not budge: Though her manner varied, however, her determination never did (Austen
77). This phrase shows the characterization of the scene. Mrs. Bennet s faith and determination in her
beliefs show the true the meaning of marriage in her eyes. Elizabeth shows the traits of a true,
independent character because she could have, like her friend Charlotte Lucas, buckled under the
pressure that outside forces were putting on her, but she believed in herself and how she was feeling,
instead of others influence on her decisions. Once again, Mr. Collins character indirectly brings out
the strengths in Elizabeth Bennet personality. This serves Austen s purpose because Elizabeth goes
against the social norms of the Regency Era and the opposite of what a woman was expected to be
liked. Although Jane Austen still creates Elizabeth to be a very likable character, Austen exemplifies
the traits of herself through Elizabeth s

Carter Burwell s Impressionist Pieces
Carter Burwell:
In order to compare and contrast Claude Debussy s impressionist work from the 1800 s to 20th
Century impressionist music, one can analyse composer Carter Burwell s impressionist pieces.
Carter Burwell was born in New York City on November 18, 1955. He graduated from King School in
Stamford, Connecticut and then studied animation and at Harvard College. In 1977, Burwell
graduated from Harvard and became a teaching assistant in the Harvard Electronic Music Studio and a
cartoonist for the Harvard Lampoon. He began to build up a career as a composer of film soundtracks,
creating a long working relationship with film makers the Coen Brothers and scoring every film they
have created. Burwell also composed film music for all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, the first and third sections (A) in ternary form are identically, however, it is common that
compared to the first section, the third section will contain further ornamentation. The second section
(B), tends to contrast dramatically with the first and third sections. Clair de Lune is also extended by a
coda which has been composed using material originating from the second section (B). The piece
mostly continues in the tonic, modulating only in bars 37 42. This means that the sections are
harmonically closed. The sections are as follows:
First section (A): Bar 1 26
Second Section (B): Bar 27 50
Third Section (A) + Coda: Bars 51 72
First Section Analysis:
Clair de Lune is in D flat major and begins with a tonic chord, excluding the tonic note. It is
introduced later on, where the median of the chord (F natural) is doubled. The right hand playing
chord I is supported by the left hand for the first four opening bars. This creates a chord a bar
harmonic rhythm. During these opening bars, the left hand slowly starts to descend while the diatonic
theme is played in the right hand. Debussy uses unconventional intervals, for example, G flat and A
(augmented second) in the first couple of bars. In bar 9, the introduction theme is repeated, this time
including some changes, such as harmonic substitutions and decorations. The F and A flat interval is
then reintroduced with ascending octaves. This phrase is then finished in bar 15,

The World s Largest Seed Company
Prosperous farmers mean more employment, more prosperity for the workers and the business men of
every industrial area in the whole country. Franklin D. Roosevelt. The world s largest seed company,
with sales over $10.5 billion is Monsanto. Monsanto specializes in biotechnology, or genetic
modification. Scientist modify crop seeds to better suite environmental needs, provide a higher crop
yield, and to create resistance to insects. These seeds are modified to withstand weeks of droughts,
deter weeds from growing, and to kill insects that may harm the functionality of the crop. Corn,
cotton, soybeans, and canola are the main seeds modified and produced by Monsanto. Approximately
90% of the world s genetically modified seeds are sold by Monsanto. (Ferrel, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2013)
Genetically modified foods cause an alarm for consumers, shareholders, and citizens. The safety and
concern of environmental effects are a major issue for Monsanto. Many individuals question the
overall safety of genetically changing and modifying the seeds. It is a concern that gene splicing could
cause a negative impact on those who eat the product. Whether it goes straight to the cow, then the
consumer or straight to the consumer, many individuals wonder if the seeds can be harmful.
Environmental effects are also a great cause for concern. The use of Roundup Ready herbicide
containing glyphosate is questioned. Glyphosate has the ability to harm birds, insects, and amphibians
that come into

Mrs. Linde s Husband
In society, women have been regarded as, above all else, caregivers; whether this be caregivers to their
children, husband, or families. There are women who thought and continue to think they are meant to
be more than caregivers and strive to do more with their lives. On the other hand, there are also
women who find no problem in tending to their families; it is a task they do with joy and Mrs. Linde is
one of these women. In, A Doll House , by Henrik Ibsen, all that Mrs. Linde has done for her family;
such as sacrificing her life with Krogstad for a more financially stable man, shows her impeccable
family values, which is why no one can call her a gold digger for trying to reunite with Krogstad her
true love. Mrs. Linde admits she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Linde s decision to return to a domestic lifestyle with Krogstad is furthermore influenced by the way
she was raised rather than a need to extort money from Torvald; women of older generations tend to
be instilled with strict family values that they come to incorporate into their daily lives once they have
a family of their own. Mrs. Linde s attitude towards reuniting with Krogstad and tending to his family
is described when she states, I must have work or I can t bear to live. All my life... work has been my
one great joy (Ibsen 33). Her obvious need for tending to others is implied to have been instilled into
her from her youth. This behavior is common of older women in society who choose to care for their
families or others and is due to the importance placed on women tending to their families above all
else. Author, Nancy Chodorow of Family structure and feminine personality , explains how Schooling
is a pseudo training. It is not meant to interfere with... [being] feminine and a wife and mother
(Chodrow 90), when speaking of how people raise their daughters. This signifies that while girls are
sent to school they are taught it is not the most important aspect of their life; they are taught to
prioritize domestic duties and caring for a family, just as a wife and mother would. Chodorow s entry
supports and reveals that Mrs. Linde s reunion with Krogstad does not have to do with the financial
stability he can provide but with her genuine care for his family; she sees no issue in caring for his
family because it is something which comes quite naturally to her. This mentality, described by
Chodorow and portrayed by Mrs. Linde and older women in society, is a driving force behind these
women s need to be involved in other people s lives and is what brings them to hold such
responsibility in a higher regards as opposed to other responsibilities. Chodorow also points out that:
Girls remained little women (90), which further supports her notion that

Periodic Trends Lab
In this lab, students compared the periodic trends of the elements in comparison to the atomic number.
A periodic trend is the tendency of certain properties of the elements to increase or decrease as one
progresses along a row or column of the periodic table. The periodic table is arranged in such a way
that these trends are easy to compare, which is the purpose of this lab. One trend, for example, is
between the electronegativity and the atomic number on an element, another being the density. When
comparing the trends, notice that electronegativity decreases when going down the groups, or
columns, of the period table, whereas the density increases. The reason for the increase in the density,
which is the relationship between the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The noble gases are the gaseous elements helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon, in group 18
of the periodic table. Additionally, they are considered the most unreactive of the elements, due to the
fact that the valence electrons are all full , thus making the group the most stable, as well. When it
comes to the periodic trends, the noble gases have the some of the lowest densities because they are
gaseous elements, meaning they state of matter consisting of particles that have neither a definite
volume nor definite shape. The lack of electronegativity of the noble gasses is based off of their group,
which already has a full outer shell, meaning they do not attract any electrons. In final analysis, the
electronegativity and density periodic trends trends are fairly consistent. Electronegativity decreases
when going down groups, while density increases. However, the outliers of these trends are the noble
gases, because of their stable, unreactive properties. In addition to helping students learn about
periodic trends, it also demonstrated to students how these trends were of great use for previous
scientists when they worked together to discover new elements that were missing on the periodic

Education. An example of an accelerated program in Education is the one offered at Walden
University. The school provides three accelerated MSED specializations to help students complete the
degree faster: (1) Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (Grades K 12); (2) Elementary Reading and
Literacy (Grades PreK 6); and (3) Teacher Leadership (Grades K 12). The program can be completed,
depending on specialization, in as few as 12 months at a cost of about $10,000, a significant tuition
savings. Walden s goal is to have the same academic standards for the accelerated program that is has
with its regular programming. Employing self directed and non self directed online coursework,
students are trained to help diverse student populations thrive in the classroom by deploying the latest
education theories and evidence based strategies.
Finding the Right Program
More universities now offer online M.S. programs because online education in general has become
more accepted and more popular among students, professors and administrators. The coursework and
material will be quite similar to what is presented in regular colleges. The big difference is the
schedule. Students usually have access to their courses 24 hours per day. They can now handle family
and work obligations, and still have time to be students without quitting work

Disney s Television History
In 1948, box office revenues dropped 43 percent from their all time high in 1946. Similarly, in 1947
90 million people would visit the theater weekly but it dropped to 40 million a week in 1957. These
changes were due to the invention of the television. By 1960, there were over 60 million TV sets in
homes across the United States. Disney was the first to make a deal with the American Broadcast
Company to air their TV shows weekly. By 19556, studio movies found their way onto TV screens
across America. But the studios had to find a way to make people go to the theater again. The first idea
was to make the screens bigger and the sound better. Studios would increase their width to height ratio

Since box office numbers were so low, studios would start to defy the PCA s production codes and
release uncensored movies. In 1956, due to a large measure of success in a few mature movies, the
MPAA president Eric Johnston changed the code for the first time in twenty years. This change was
minor and only allowed the limited use of the words hell and damn. When the PCA started to lose
control over the film industries productions the MPAA hired Valenti to fix the box office problems and
modernize the PCA. In 1966, six films were released with the new MPAA code that stated that the
films were for Mature Audiences. The MGM submitted Blow up to the PCA and was declined a seal.
MGM then released the movie through Premier Films, which was a subsidiary of MGM. The movie
was a success and the MPAA president Valenti changed the code to a new age based rating system.
The invention of the TV and its widely known success lead to many changes to the film industry. It led
to the creation of Disneyland, movies on televisions, a few changes in the PCA s production codes,
and different movie genres. Box office numbers would rise with the gambles that the studios took to
create mature

The Long Term Health Consequences Of Deprived Prenatal...
The long term health consequences of deprived prenatal nutrition are a significant concern on a global
scale. Nutrition, as an environmental factor, plays an important role in stimulating alterations in
various epigenetic processes such as DNA methylation and histone modifications. Specific dietary
stressors can create epigenetic variations to the present lifetime but also to successive generations.
Epidemiological and experimental studies highlight the association between adult health and early life
maternal nutritional stressors such as under nutrition, malnutrition and over nutrition. Gestational
maternal nutrition is a critical intrauterine factor which changes offspring epigenome. Numerous
animal and human model studies reveal that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnant mothers require greater energy inputs and when these requirements are sufficient because of
poor diets, long term diseases in offspring develop (Langley Evans, 2006). Fetal developmental
periods are critical to human life as a majority of the epigenetic programming events take place during
this time. Maternal under nutrition during critical periods (fetal programming) is an important
predictor of obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes (Lakshmy, 2013). The
underlying fetal programming hypothesis indicates that during critical periods of fetal development,
changes in the prenatal environment cause the differential expression of genes affecting offspring
phenotype later on (Lakshmy, 2013).The Barker s Early Origins Hypothesis states that unfavourable
fetal growth and poor nutrition may contribute to and increases risk of chronic disease because under
nutrition in prenatal environments alters the fetuses body structure, physiology and metabolism
(Vaiserman, 2014). This concept is present in current North American populations with the growing
obesity epidemic due to excessive carbohydrate and sugar intake during gestation. Understanding the
epigenetic modulation of maternal nutrition on offspring health is essential as chronic disease rates are
increasing in most of the developing and industrialized nations.
The knowledge accumulated through understanding this phenomenon may be important to

Positive Women In Emergency Medical Services

a strong individual and committed woman to enter into emergency medical services. Women are the
minority in this field so there can be many twists and turns having a career in EMS. Women got their
feet into the EMS career world by becoming firefighters first. The first woman firefighter was in 1815

Women and men together make a great team for emergency medical services because, it is such a wide
variety of things we encounter. On some calls men are much better at communicating with the patient
and at other times women are. Entering into the EMS field, I knew there would be things to overcome
such as harassment, hostile situations and many other challenges to get through. You have to love what
you do to make it through daily life in your job. It is very difficult to be first responders and you never
know what type of situation you are going to enter into. Also, I am sure some patients and family
members may think when they see a small woman like me; is she capable to move me, lift that heavy
equipment, and so on. I put my all in everything I do and have a true passion from the heart in helping
others. I know if you are a woman and want to be in this field you can as long as you put your mind to
it and stay dedicated. In some situations it is more difficult on women than it is men to deal with
current things but, that also applies to men as well. I set a goal of becoming a Paramedic and in the
future going above and beyond that. Being a Paramedic student I know how much hard work and
dedication it takes to have a career that is satisfying. Not that being a Paramedic is all enjoyable, but it

The Ho Chunk
The history of the Ho Chunk is very complex. According to oral tradition the Ho Chunk originated at
the Red Banks by Green Bay. These Red Banks are assumed to be a sight on the Door Peninsula.
Their language is related to the Chiwere branch of Siouan, which includes the Iowa, Oto, and
Missouria tribes. These tribes acknowledge having broken off from the Ho Chunk and moving to the
West. The meaning behind their name though is quite fascinating. It can either mean big voice or big
fish . In this sense the word big means ancestral or primordial. Although we know where they
originated in Wisconsin, we do not know their place of origin before entering Wisconsin as well as
their archeological antecedents in Wisconsin. When the French were first introduced to the Ho
Chunks, they were known as the Winnebago. This was the name by which they were known to their
neighbors who spoke Algonkian. This was not uncommon for a tribe to be known by several different
names by different people as the name related to the language that was spoken. The name Winnebago
means Stinking Water . This name fits in relation to the waters around them. In Green Bay there were
several smelly, marshy areas and the fish in this water died fast. Some of these waters may include
The Fox River and Lake Winnebago, which are both in the Fond du Lac area today. In 1816, parts of
the tribe signed the first treaty with Americans pledging both loyalty and peace. Later parts of the tribe

By slipping it into our food without our knowledge, without any indication that there are genetically

Arjun Walia (Walia). GMOs need to be labeled, for it is the consumers health at risk while the farming
companies focus solely on the cost efficient qualities and profit of their dangerous products, not to
mention their ethical violation of nature. GMOs are considered to be as safe as their traditional

the FDA does not refer to this category of foods as GMOs, but rather as GEs, genetically engineered.
Perhaps their reluctance to use the term GMO is intentional and to disassociate the products with the
infamous negative connotations. The following quote is from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

Investigating Estrogen Effects On Myc And Pvt1 Expression
Investigating Estrogen Effects on MYC and PVT1 Expression in Breast Cancer Using Mouse Models
Background
In the United States, breast cancer is currently the second most common cancer in women. The
National Institute of Health states that one in every eight women will develop breast cancer in her
lifetime (1). Furthermore, it is estimated by the American Cancer Institute that approximated 41,000
people died of breast cancer in the United States during 2015 (2). Since breast cancer is such a
prevalent concern in society today, current and future research will help direct the treatment and
detection of the disease.
Studies have shown that high estrogen levels correspond with an increased risk for breast cancer in
mammalian species (3). The hormone estrogen plays a key role in mammary gland development by
binding to the estrogen receptor, which has previously been identified as a transcription factor. In
normal cells, when estrogen binds to the receptor, a dimer forms and a conformational change occurs.
The estrogen receptor travels to the nucleus where its DNA binding domain interacts with a DNA
sequence found in the promoter of several genes. The estrogen receptor must form a complex with
various proteins prior to initiation of transcription. In cancerous cells, the estrogen receptor becomes
overly activated by estrogen and leads to tumor formation via multiple mechanisms (3).
Myelocytomatosis (Myc) and plasmacytoma variant transcription 1 (Pvt1) are two genes that were

Charles Tilly s State Making
Charles Tilly (1929 2008) is a former sociologist and political scientist who introduced the idea of
state making through state makers in global politics. Charles Tilly argued that state making is the
process by which state makers eliminate other hostile or adverse powerful men within a given
territory. State makers are the power holders in society such as kings or landowners . In Bringing the
State Back (Tilly, Charles. 172) Tilly argues that states are formed through a capricious and
unintentional process by which state makers enforce war in the pursuit of territory, human population
and scarce resources. Tilly says that state makers did not take part in the pivotal and costly tasks of
war making, extraction and capital accumulation with a mind set of ultimately forming a state. Rather,
Tilly argued that the pursuit of resources for war making, capital accumulation and extraction was
required to gain territory, money and human population. Tilly describes capital accumulation as the
process of investing money into warfare in return for future profits or benefits. Lastly, Tilly defines
extraction as acquiring means such as population, money or weaponry to carry out the initial war
making process. Modern day rebel militant forces such as ISIS and the Taliban support Tilly s
explanation of state making, however ISIS challenges the aspect of unintentional state making, as it
ultimately envisages the emergence of a state once the war making is over.

the old origins of this status is still largely present in societies around the world, and this

Designing And Implementing A Technology Project Essay
Designing and implementing a technology project that spans the three different areas of the team will
take a considerable amount of time, energy, planning and resources. The system must incorporate a
balance between all areas as well as a mechanism that supports the growing demand for output of
quality product in a sufficient and efficient manner. Since all three areas (victim correspondence,
property acquisitions, and debt management) function under various rules and procedures according to
internal governance as well as Federal statutes and policies, the system must be cross functional and
multi functional as well as legally compliant. In as much, a lot of consideration is necessary when
deciding which product, software, and system to choose. For example, the current system used by the
debt management section of the Team uses an Oracle Business product that relies on dashboards to
compile, sort, and analyze data. However, the victim correspondence system uses a web based system
that relates case summary and detailed information as well as downloads and links to system and case
related inquiries and information. Legalities are also to be taken into consideration. Most available

The Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3 Fatty Acids Fatty Acids have a linked chain of carbon atoms. These atoms can be
unsaturated or saturated. Saturated means that there is only a single bond in carbon atoms, which
leaves hydrogen to have the rest of them. Unsaturated means that there has to be at least once carbon
atom that needs to have a double bond. In the case of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Essential Fatty acids are
polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fat is fat that has a lot of double bonds in between carbon atoms.
They have to contain at least two double bonds. A double bond is when there are two atoms that share
two electrons. In all omega 3 fatty acids, the first double bond is located between the third and fourth
carbon atom counting from the methyl end of the fatty acid (n 3) (Higdon). There is a double bond
that is the first on the carbon chain in between the third and forth chain. These double bonds are on a
carbon chains which are in all omega 3 fatty acids. Another example of another fatty acid is omega 9.
Omega 9 has its first double bond in between the ninth and tenth carbon atom. Omega 3 fatty acids are
very good for a person to have. There are different types of omega 3 fatty acids that we as humans can
put into our diet. The two major types of omega 3 fatty acids are alpha linolenic acid (ALA) and the
other is eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Alpha linolenic acids are
found in plants. ALA is known for being a short chain omega 3 acid, unlike EPA and

Characteristics Of Entrepreneurship
Maki of Japan is a restaurant in Opry Mills Mall. In 2015, the business was not going so good. The
food was not selling as it had to and this was not good for the company nor the employees. The owner,
however was creative. This was his personal characteristic. As the entrepreneur himself, he slowly
changed the menu around. He changed prices, plates, and added more food. He replaced things that
didn t sell to new ones. Example be that he stopped selling cheese wantons to sell plantains that the
customers seemed to like more. Gradually, the business started doing great again and this was a good
sign. As the entrepreneur, he took control and found a way to fix the situation by his trait.
Entrepreneur motivation can come from a person s life experience. Past jobs, a person s family
business, or education is an example of this. Life experiences can motivate someone to open a
business because the person has already experienced it and knows what they are doing. They have

Apollo vs. The Palette of Narmer Essay example
The two works of art that have been chosen to compare and contrast are The Palette Of Narmer and
Apollo of Veii. The Palette Of Narmer dates back to the Hierakonpolis Dynasty 1 in 3100 BCE. The
Palette of Narmer is interesting because it is the oldest historic work of art that names a person, and is
the earliest piece of art that uses hieroglyph. This artwork depicts the dawn of a new age of man and
his use of writing and pictographs in art. The statue of Apollo, from Veii comes from the Etruscan art
period Apollo was created around 500 BCE. It was created by a very popular sculpture of his time, by
the name of Vulca. The delicate technique of firing clay is fascinating. A sculptor of Vulca s ability
was required to know how to construct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many scholars believe that palettes decorated with animals, birds, and human figures had some sort of
ceremonial function. On the palette, Narmer s name appears in pictographs a horizontal fish translated
Nar and a vertical chisel translated Mer. These hieroglyphs appear three times on this piece of art. The
king appears as the main character in various scenes on both sides of the palette, he also appears in
hierachical proportion representing the status of individuals in a highly stratified society. The
significance of the ruler appearing larger than other human figures indicates importance and divine
status. On one side of the palette Narmer appears with the White Crown of Upper Egypt signifying
that it has been tamed. On the opposite side he wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt signifying that it
also had been tamed. These images amongst other images of conquest proclaim him to be the great
unifier, protector, and leader of the Egyptian people.
The statue of Apollo is made of painted Terra cotta, which is also known as baked clay. It is the same
material used for pottery containers. It stands at a height of five feet ten inches, and is recognized by
the statues archaic smile, well developed massive body, quick stride, and expressive power. Apollo is
partially concealed by a robe that cascades down in knife edged pleats to his knees. Apollo is shown
striding forward which to our eyes appears that he is stepping

The United State Army Community
The United States army started in 1775 with only a group of volunteer fighters who opposed against
the rule and the oppression of the British. (Hogan 2005) The U.S army is still an all volunteer fighting
force today defending and defeating enemy threats to the United States. Since the creation of the U.S
army it has built on tradition and honor for its country and willing to defend the constitution for more
than two and a half century. Learning the culture of the United States Army will help give people an
understanding of the people who serve in the army as well as learn what shaped the army today.

today s army is a very diverse group.
Colonialism played a part in shaping and forming the Army community. The tension between Britain
and the colonies began to build because of the unjust rule of the colonies. The colonies wanted to be
independent and grow as a nation. Congress decided to declare independence from the British and
form the Continental Army. Previously, each colony had relied upon the militia, made up of part time
civilian soldiers, for local defense, or the raising of temporary provincial regiments during specific
crises such as the French and Indian War. The Continental Army consisted of soldiers from all 13
colonies. (Hogan 2005) Like today s army the army is a diverse group of people who were young, old,
and came from different backgrounds. When they joined the army they gave up to their way of life to
fight what they thought was right. The army was not very organized and well trained because on the

Comparing The Congruence Of Shakespeare And Montaigne
The Congruence of Shakespeare and Montaigne Envision living in a nation that has achieved the
paramount form of society, one that is ideal in its ethical, social, and political facets. Simple to
imagine but impossible to replicate, and that is, according to Plato s Theory of Forms, because the
physical world is a poor copy of these ideas, these forms, even the ones closest to perfection are
imperfect. That is why a utopia can not be attained in reality. Although, in Montaigne s Of Cannibals,
it is proposed that the natural state is the closest to accomplishing this. The ideas set forth in this work,
chiefly the concept of cultural relativism, influenced Shakespeare in his writing of The Tempest, and

Caliban is subjected to a way of thought that is utterly new to him, given to him from Miranda and
Propsero, and it is said by Montaigne that those who think and act in these way are savage, not just
those who they imposed these ideas upon simply because in their eyes they were deemed as savage.
Even though Caliban is a slave to Prospero and had wicked notions towards him, it is only because his
natural state was altered, which can sometimes lead to an opposite effect than intended. Montaigne
also describes that a nation that is closest to perfection is one with no knowledge of political systems,
letters, numbers etcetera, and Shakespeare concurs with this through representing it in Gonzalo, who
contemplates that if he had the island to rule, he would rule congruently with Montaigne s belief. The
characters of Caliban and Gonzalo both represent Shakespeare s agreement with Montaigne and his

Servicemen And Women Be Able To Keep Dogs Essay
Should all servicemen and women be able to keep the dogs that they trained? I honestly think that
servicemen and women should be able to keep their dogs. I think this because these service people
took a lot of time out of their day of working to train their dogs. Also these people train their dog to
the way of their liking and the way they are helpful to them. These dogs should only have one trainer
or owner. I also think it would be really hard for someone new to get a dog like this and be able get
true obedience. They owner s happiness reflects on the dog also, it knows what makes the owner
happy and what it should do to help them. If someone new was to get a already trained dog I think it

Breastfeeding Critical Incident Essay
This essay explains, reflects and analyses a critical incident which occurred on a postnatal ward during
my first clinical placement as a student midwife. The incident relates to breastfeeding practices on the
ward and is classed as critical because it triggered an instinctual response in me which made me feel it
was not right or helpful. My response and feelings at the time were not grounded in theoretical
knowledge but rather an instinctual feeling. As a result of this instinctual feeling, the incident was
explored. This exploration opened up a flood gate of information regarding what could be learned

Ellen, Harry and her husband went home that day with enough supply line equipment to last two
weeks. I was confused as to how a supply line provided Ellen and Harry with breastfeeding
independence. It was not until I spoke to the Antenatal educator and a casual midwife did I realise why
I had uneasy feelings about what we had done to (not for) Ellen. The antenatal educator highlighted to
me that the postnatal ward is not baby friendly and not to participate in the breastfeeding practices
they promote. She encouraged me to allow extended skin to skin time and use a hands off approach. A
casual midwife further validated and labelled my bad feelings when she mentioned that she has never
seen so many mothers with breastfeeding troubles then at our hospital and if we were a baby friendly
hospital we would not be able to practice the way that we do. She also stated that in all her years as a
midwife in the Northern territory she had not seen a baby that couldn t suck. These two women
verbalised what I could not, and made me realise that we had done the wrong thing and that there is a
better way to assist women to breastfeed then constant hurried intervention. What follows is a critical
reflection and analysis on what could have been done better in regards to this incident and in the

The Health Benefits Of Raw Milk
Raw milk is not sold in every state, and there have been reports that the FDA has closed down many
raw milk producers nationwide. The reason behind this, I don t know, but it looks as if they don t want
the health benefits to get out to the public. The less work and more natural a product is, the healthier it
is. In my opinion, drinking raw milk has been done for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, and in
many locations around the world, people still drink raw milk. If it was really as bad for you as the
FDA claims, humans would have never continued to drunk raw milk. Jersey and Guernsey milk comes
from cows bred on the Isle of Guernsey and the Isle of Jersey, which are located off the the British
mainland. The milk Guernsey cows produce is high in fat, and is also loaded with beta carotene and
protein. Jersey cows produce milk that s high in butterfat, which is why it is often used in cheese
making. Both breeds produce richer and higher fat. Lactose free milk is for the many people around
the world who suffer from lactose intolerance, but how can milk that contains lactose really be lactose
free? Lactose free milk simply contains lactase, a natural enzyme that helps break down lactose. Some
people who take a lot of the lactase enzyme could experience bloating and diarrhea after they have
stopped consuming the enzyme. This is from the body trying to break down the lactose without help.
Skim milk is one of the most consumed milk products in the USA. The media would

The framework of security policy is defined to construct a structure by the help of which policy gaps

The Psychological Effect Of Philanthropy And Psychology
Just as philanthropy has great societal effects, it also has many psychological effects. When people
decide to donate, they are bestowing on themselves an innumerable number of intangible costs, one of
these costs is the psychological implication is giving. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Giving not only
contributes to the way others see one but also to the way one sees himself, this contributes to one s self
image as an altruistic, empathetic, social responsible, agreeable, or influential person (Bekkers
Wiepking, 2010). The first response one feels, however, is an emotional response, this response makes
one feel good and have a positive mood (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The nearly automatic response can
liberate one from feelings of guilt, which in turn satisfies one s desire to show gratitude or morality
(Bekkers Wiepking, 2010).
The first phenomenon that could be studied when linking together philanthropy and psychology, is the
do good, feel good phenomenon. Evidence suggests that helping others and helping behavior has
positive psychological effects on the helper or donor, this can be called, emphatic joy (Bekkers
Wiepking, 2010). Economic models of philanthropy suggest that this section of motives is called
warm glow or joy of giving (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Neuropsychological studies show that,
donating to charity release neural activities in areas that are responsible for reward processing in the
brain. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). In addition, the

Taking a Look at Types of Disasters
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (n.d), the
definition of disaster is known as: an unexpected, catastrophic event that extremely disturbs the
functioning of a community or society and causes human, material, and environmental losses that go
beyond the community s ability to handle using its own resources. In addition, the disaster could be
classified into two category which are the natural disaster and also human made disaster. First, a
natural disaster is known as the naturally occurring event or changes in natural phenomenon that has
disastrous impacts towards the society. The extent of loss vary to the vulnerability of the population,
and also the scope and intensity of the disaster. Examples for natural disasters are earthquake,
typhoon, volcanic eruptions, flood and so on. Conversely, human made disaster is known as the event
that often caused by the negligence or human error which lead to a disastrous impacts towards the
society. Example of human made disasters are technological hazards such as nuclear weapons,
transportation hazards like airplane crash, and so on. Ten years ago, there was a massive undersea
earthquake which known as the Sumatra Andaman earthquake that occurred at 26 December 2004.
The earthquake was classified as natural disaster that caused by the movement of tectonic plates under
the ocean which lead to a series of destructive tsunamis that hit and impacted 14 countries in total.

Despite their unique perspectives and social attitudes of freedom and control, both George Orwell and

The workers are depicted in uniform black, trudging in synchronised robotic movements in an
overcrowded environment, which reinforces their lack of identity and alluding to machinery, their
dehumanisation and conformity to the atrocities of the industrialist environment. This is contrasted
with the light shades and wide open spaces above the depths, reflecting the lifestyle of freedom
enjoyed by the members of the upper city in the eternal garden, including the protagonist Freder. The
repeated reference to the Mediator, between the head and the hands postulates the increasing class
struggle in Lang s time. The iris effect on Maria emphasizes her angelic nature, and adoption of
Christian values. As a devout catholic, Lang intended Maria to adopt notions of equality which are
obsolete in the society of Metropolis, the head of the city, Joh Frederson, possessing a capitalist
outlook. He is the embodiment of power over the workers as suggested by his body posture and stern
facial expressions. Moreover, Maria acts as a catalyst to the Mediator, who is Freder, as suggested by
the chiaroscuro lighting on his face in the catacombs. Freder s actions in the Moloch scene in which he
reaches out his hands to help the workers represents his Christian nature and foreshadows his ability to
undo the inequality of class in which Metropolis has been founded. Similarly, British author George

  • 3. Benefits Of A Good Credit Score Having a good credit score is one of the best matters one can involve themselves in. Good credit can ensure that one are able to pay for just about anything. From a new car to somebody s first house, it can make or ruin anyone. Due to the importance of good credit, students frequently take advantage of their college years as a valuable chance to glimpse into adulthood by beginning their steps toward increasing that score. Considering the rising costs of tuition and the steep price of textbooks, it is not uncommon to be incapable of paying for everything immediately. That is where credit comes it. Credit score is a simple concept. It s a number that represents how often a person pays off debts they owe from using a credit card. A credit card (different an a debit card), does not take money from its owner. Instead, the owner is borrowing money it. At the end of the month, people receive bills from everywhere they owe money. If people can pay them all off, their credit score will rise as a result. On the other hand, if they fail to pay, that number drops. Once a payment is missed, a person s credit score will receive a blow that will often be very troublesome to overcome. The higher the credit score is, the more trustworthy people come across are to salespeople. 800 is a perfect credit score, and what people strive towards. The college years are a perfect time to establish credit, as it is the first time in their life where students realize that they will eventually need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ganis Mrs. Schroder English IV Honors 13 February, 2018 Pride and Prejudice: Character Foil In order for a novel or other literary work to become popular for its time and for an author s audience to stay engaged and interested in the plot, there must include some sort of conflict or some sort of contrast that creates that conflict. This conflict attracts the reader to the novel, wanting to read more. This juxtaposition is achieved through a foil. Foil characters are characters that directly contrast the traits or qualities of another character. Foil characters usually are the main character, the protagonist shows traits that are opposite and emphasize the plot of the story, or even another character even further. A foil, in the novel ... Bennet characters when Mrs. Bennet pressures Elizabeth to marry her cousin, Mr. Collins almost immediately after she learns about Elizabeth s rejection of his proposal. No matter how much Mrs. Bennet talked to Elizabeth again and again; coaxed and threatened her by turns (Austen 76 77), Elizabeth would not budge: Though her manner varied, however, her determination never did (Austen 77). This phrase shows the characterization of the scene. Mrs. Bennet s faith and determination in her beliefs show the true the meaning of marriage in her eyes. Elizabeth shows the traits of a true, independent character because she could have, like her friend Charlotte Lucas, buckled under the pressure that outside forces were putting on her, but she believed in herself and how she was feeling, instead of others influence on her decisions. Once again, Mr. Collins character indirectly brings out the strengths in Elizabeth Bennet personality. This serves Austen s purpose because Elizabeth goes against the social norms of the Regency Era and the opposite of what a woman was expected to be liked. Generally, the first and third sections (A) in ternary form are identically, however, it is common that compared to the first section, the third section will contain further ornamentation. The second section (B), tends to contrast dramatically with the first and third sections. Clair de Lune is also extended by a coda which has been composed using material originating from the second section (B). The piece mostly continues in the tonic, modulating only in bars 37 42. This means that the sections are harmonically closed. The sections are as follows: First section (A): Bar 1 26 Second Section (B): Bar 27 50 Third Section (A) + Coda: Bars 51 72 First Section Analysis: Clair de Lune is in D flat major and begins with a tonic chord, excluding the tonic note. It is introduced later on, where the median of the chord (F natural) is doubled. The right hand playing chord I is supported by the left hand for the first four opening bars. This creates a chord a bar harmonic rhythm. During these opening bars, the left hand slowly starts to descend while the diatonic theme is played in the right hand. Debussy uses unconventional intervals, for example, G flat and A (augmented second) in the first couple of bars. • 6. The World s Largest Seed Company Prosperous farmers mean more employment, more prosperity for the workers and the business men of every industrial area in the whole country. Franklin D. Roosevelt. The world s largest seed company, with sales over $10.5 billion is Monsanto. Monsanto specializes in biotechnology, or genetic modification. Scientist modify crop seeds to better suite environmental needs, provide a higher crop yield, and to create resistance to insects. These seeds are modified to withstand weeks of droughts, deter weeds from growing, and to kill insects that may harm the functionality of the crop. Corn, cotton, soybeans, and canola are the main seeds modified and produced by Monsanto. Approximately 90% of the world s genetically modified seeds are sold by Monsanto. (Ferrel, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2013) Genetically modified foods cause an alarm for consumers, shareholders, and citizens. The safety and concern of environmental effects are a major issue for Monsanto. Many individuals question the overall safety of genetically changing and modifying the seeds. It is a concern that gene splicing could cause a negative impact on those who eat the product. Whether it goes straight to the cow, then the consumer or straight to the consumer, many individuals wonder if the seeds can be harmful. Environmental effects are also a great cause for concern. • 7. Mrs. Linde s Husband In society, women have been regarded as, above all else, caregivers; whether this be caregivers to their children, husband, or families. There are women who thought and continue to think they are meant to be more than caregivers and strive to do more with their lives. On the other hand, there are also women who find no problem in tending to their families; it is a task they do with joy and Mrs. Linde is one of these women. In, A Doll House , by Henrik Ibsen, all that Mrs. Linde has done for her family; such as sacrificing her life with Krogstad for a more financially stable man, shows her impeccable family values, which is why no one can call her a gold digger for trying to reunite with Krogstad her true love. Mrs. Linde admits she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Linde s decision to return to a domestic lifestyle with Krogstad is furthermore influenced by the way she was raised rather than a need to extort money from Torvald; women of older generations tend to be instilled with strict family values that they come to incorporate into their daily lives once they have a family of their own. Mrs. Linde s attitude towards reuniting with Krogstad and tending to his family is described when she states, I must have work or I can t bear to live. All my life... work has been my one great joy (Ibsen 33). Her obvious need for tending to others is implied to have been instilled into her from her youth. This behavior is common of older women in society who choose to care for their families or others and is due to the importance placed on women tending to their families above all else. Author, Nancy Chodorow of Family structure and feminine personality , explains how Schooling is a pseudo training. It is not meant to interfere with... [being] feminine and a wife and mother (Chodrow 90), when speaking of how people raise their daughters. This signifies that while girls are sent to school they are taught it is not the most important aspect of their life; they are taught to prioritize domestic duties and caring for a family, just as a wife and mother would. Chodorow s entry supports and reveals that Mrs. Linde s reunion with Krogstad does not have to do with the financial stability he can provide but with her genuine care for his family; she sees no issue in caring for his family because it is something which comes quite naturally to her. This mentality, described by Chodorow and portrayed by Mrs. Linde and older women in society, is a driving force behind these women s need to be involved in other people s lives and is what brings them to hold such responsibility in a higher regards as opposed to other responsibilities. Chodorow also points out that: Girls remained little women (90), which further supports her notion that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A periodic trend is the tendency of certain properties of the elements to increase or decrease as one progresses along a row or column of the periodic table. The periodic table is arranged in such a way that these trends are easy to compare, which is the purpose of this lab. One trend, for example, is between the electronegativity and the atomic number on an element, another being the density. When comparing the trends, notice that electronegativity decreases when going down the groups, or columns, of the period table, whereas the density increases. The reason for the increase in the density, which is the relationship between the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The noble gases are the gaseous elements helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon, in group 18 of the periodic table. Additionally, they are considered the most unreactive of the elements, due to the fact that the valence electrons are all full , thus making the group the most stable, as well. When it comes to the periodic trends, the noble gases have the some of the lowest densities because they are gaseous elements, meaning they state of matter consisting of particles that have neither a definite volume nor definite shape. The lack of electronegativity of the noble gasses is based off of their group, which already has a full outer shell, meaning they do not attract any electrons. In final analysis, the electronegativity and density periodic trends trends are fairly consistent. Electronegativity decreases when going down groups, while density increases. However, the outliers of these trends are the noble gases, because of their stable, unreactive properties. In addition to helping students learn about periodic trends, it also demonstrated to students how these trends were of great use for previous scientists when they worked together to discover new elements that were missing on the periodic ... The school provides three accelerated MSED specializations to help students complete the degree faster: (1) Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (Grades K 12); (2) Elementary Reading and Literacy (Grades PreK 6); and (3) Teacher Leadership (Grades K 12). The program can be completed, depending on specialization, in as few as 12 months at a cost of about $10,000, a significant tuition savings. Walden s goal is to have the same academic standards for the accelerated program that is has with its regular programming. Employing self directed and non self directed online coursework, students are trained to help diverse student populations thrive in the classroom by deploying the latest education theories and evidence based strategies. Finding the Right Program More universities now offer online M.S. programs because online education in general has become more accepted and more popular among students, professors and administrators. The coursework and material will be quite similar to what is presented in regular colleges. The big difference is the schedule. Students usually have access to their courses 24 hours per day. Similarly, in 1947 90 million people would visit the theater weekly but it dropped to 40 million a week in 1957. These changes were due to the invention of the television. By 1960, there were over 60 million TV sets in homes across the United States. Disney was the first to make a deal with the American Broadcast Company to air their TV shows weekly. By 19556, studio movies found their way onto TV screens across America. But the studios had to find a way to make people go to the theater again. The first idea was to make the screens bigger and the sound better. Studios would increase their width to height ratio from 1.33:1 to 1.85:1 for flat prints and ... In 1956, due to a large measure of success in a few mature movies, the MPAA president Eric Johnston changed the code for the first time in twenty years. This change was minor and only allowed the limited use of the words hell and damn. When the PCA started to lose control over the film industries productions the MPAA hired Valenti to fix the box office problems and modernize the PCA. In 1966, six films were released with the new MPAA code that stated that the films were for Mature Audiences. The MGM submitted Blow up to the PCA and was declined a seal. • 11. The Long Term Health Consequences Of Deprived Prenatal... The long term health consequences of deprived prenatal nutrition are a significant concern on a global scale. Nutrition, as an environmental factor, plays an important role in stimulating alterations in various epigenetic processes such as DNA methylation and histone modifications. Specific dietary stressors can create epigenetic variations to the present lifetime but also to successive generations. Epidemiological and experimental studies highlight the association between adult health and early life maternal nutritional stressors such as under nutrition, malnutrition and over nutrition. Gestational maternal nutrition is a critical intrauterine factor which changes offspring epigenome. Numerous animal and human model studies reveal that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pregnant mothers require greater energy inputs and when these requirements are sufficient because of poor diets, long term diseases in offspring develop (Langley Evans, 2006). Fetal developmental periods are critical to human life as a majority of the epigenetic programming events take place during this time. Maternal under nutrition during critical periods (fetal programming) is an important predictor of obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes (Lakshmy, 2013). The underlying fetal programming hypothesis indicates that during critical periods of fetal development, changes in the prenatal environment cause the differential expression of genes affecting offspring phenotype later on (Lakshmy, 2013).The Barker s Early Origins Hypothesis states that unfavourable fetal growth and poor nutrition may contribute to and increases risk of chronic disease because under nutrition in prenatal environments alters the fetuses body structure, physiology and metabolism (Vaiserman, 2014). This concept is present in current North American populations with the growing obesity epidemic due to excessive carbohydrate and sugar intake during gestation. Understanding the epigenetic modulation of maternal nutrition on offspring health is essential as chronic disease rates are increasing in most of the developing and industrialized nations. The knowledge accumulated through understanding this phenomenon may be important to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Ho Chunk The history of the Ho Chunk is very complex. According to oral tradition the Ho Chunk originated at the Red Banks by Green Bay. These Red Banks are assumed to be a sight on the Door Peninsula. Their language is related to the Chiwere branch of Siouan, which includes the Iowa, Oto, and Missouria tribes. These tribes acknowledge having broken off from the Ho Chunk and moving to the West. The meaning behind their name though is quite fascinating. It can either mean big voice or big fish . In this sense the word big means ancestral or primordial. Although we know where they originated in Wisconsin, we do not know their place of origin before entering Wisconsin as well as their archeological antecedents in Wisconsin. When the French were first introduced to the Ho Chunks, they were known as the Winnebago. This was the name by which they were known to their neighbors who spoke Algonkian. This was not uncommon for a tribe to be known by several different names by different people as the name related to the language that was spoken. The name Winnebago means Stinking Water . This name fits in relation to the waters around them. In Green Bay there were several smelly, marshy areas and the fish in this water died fast. Some of these waters may include The Fox River and Lake Winnebago, which are both in the Fond du Lac area today. Investigating Estrogen Effects On Myc And Pvt1 Expression Investigating Estrogen Effects on MYC and PVT1 Expression in Breast Cancer Using Mouse Models Background In the United States, breast cancer is currently the second most common cancer in women. The National Institute of Health states that one in every eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime (1). Furthermore, it is estimated by the American Cancer Institute that approximated 41,000 people died of breast cancer in the United States during 2015 (2). Since breast cancer is such a prevalent concern in society today, current and future research will help direct the treatment and detection of the disease. Studies have shown that high estrogen levels correspond with an increased risk for breast cancer in mammalian species (3). The hormone estrogen plays a key role in mammary gland development by binding to the estrogen receptor, which has previously been identified as a transcription factor. In normal cells, when estrogen binds to the receptor, a dimer forms and a conformational change occurs. The estrogen receptor travels to the nucleus where its DNA binding domain interacts with a DNA sequence found in the promoter of several genes. The estrogen receptor must form a complex with various proteins prior to initiation of transcription. In cancerous cells, the estrogen receptor becomes overly activated by estrogen and leads to tumor formation via multiple mechanisms (3). • 17. Charles Tilly s State Making Charles Tilly (1929 2008) is a former sociologist and political scientist who introduced the idea of state making through state makers in global politics. Charles Tilly argued that state making is the process by which state makers eliminate other hostile or adverse powerful men within a given territory. State makers are the power holders in society such as kings or landowners . In Bringing the State Back (Tilly, Charles. 172) Tilly argues that states are formed through a capricious and unintentional process by which state makers enforce war in the pursuit of territory, human population and scarce resources. Tilly says that state makers did not take part in the pivotal and costly tasks of war making, extraction and capital accumulation with a mind set of ultimately forming a state. Rather, Tilly argued that the pursuit of resources for war making, capital accumulation and extraction was required to gain territory, money and human population. Tilly describes capital accumulation as the process of investing money into warfare in return for future profits or benefits. Lastly, Tilly defines extraction as acquiring means such as population, money or weaponry to carry out the initial war making process. Modern day rebel militant forces such as ISIS and the Taliban support Tilly s explanation of state making, however ISIS challenges the aspect of unintentional state making, as it ultimately envisages the emergence of a state once the war making is over. Saturated means that there is only a single bond in carbon atoms, which leaves hydrogen to have the rest of them. Unsaturated means that there has to be at least once carbon atom that needs to have a double bond. In the case of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Essential Fatty acids are polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fat is fat that has a lot of double bonds in between carbon atoms. They have to contain at least two double bonds. A double bond is when there are two atoms that share two electrons. In all omega 3 fatty acids, the first double bond is located between the third and fourth carbon atom counting from the methyl end of the fatty acid (n 3) (Higdon). There is a double bond that is the first on the carbon chain in between the third and forth chain. These double bonds are on a carbon chains which are in all omega 3 fatty acids. The food was not selling as it had to and this was not good for the company nor the employees. The owner, however was creative. This was his personal characteristic. As the entrepreneur himself, he slowly changed the menu around. He changed prices, plates, and added more food. He replaced things that didn t sell to new ones. Example be that he stopped selling cheese wantons to sell plantains that the customers seemed to like more. Gradually, the business started doing great again and this was a good sign. As the entrepreneur, he took control and found a way to fix the situation by his trait. Entrepreneur motivation can come from a person s life experience. Past jobs, a person s family business, or education is an example of this. Life experiences can motivate someone to open a business because the person has already experienced it and knows what they are doing. They have seen what it is the business will need in order to be successful. This is beneficial for the business because if the leader knows what they are providing for the customers, the business will go well. Previous jobs are a good example of life experiences that can motivate an entrepreneur. The reason behind this, I don t know, but it looks as if they don t want the health benefits to get out to the public. The less work and more natural a product is, the healthier it is. In my opinion, drinking raw milk has been done for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, and in many locations around the world, people still drink raw milk. If it was really as bad for you as the FDA claims, humans would have never continued to drunk raw milk. Jersey and Guernsey milk comes from cows bred on the Isle of Guernsey and the Isle of Jersey, which are located off the the British mainland. To address this credibility gap (Gorbachev) Gorbachev mandated a partial withdrawal of the State from artistic and intellectual affairs (Harvard Business Review). The Soviet leader allowed limited criticism of the State, allowed the publication of previously banned books, and gave the media more journalistic freedom (Sixsmith). In making these changes, Gorbachev took a calculated risk. On one hand, Glasnost was a necessity. With greater access to information, the State could no longer truly censor the media citizens consumed. On the other hand, as Martin Sixsmith argues in his book Russia, Glasnost opened the gates to criticism of the regime, and only accelerated the downfall of the Soviet Union. When people decide to donate, they are bestowing on themselves an innumerable number of intangible costs, one of these costs is the psychological implication is giving. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Giving not only contributes to the way others see one but also to the way one sees himself, this contributes to one s self image as an altruistic, empathetic, social responsible, agreeable, or influential person (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The first response one feels, however, is an emotional response, this response makes one feel good and have a positive mood (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Lang s science fiction film Metropolis encapsulates the tensions of his wartime experience, and the political situation of the 1920s Weimer period in Germany, in which Lang tapped into the country s power struggles, issues of poverty and conflict, as well as the clear fascination with technological developments, through a heavily stylised futuristic environment. The repeated reference to the Mediator, between the head and the hands postulates the increasing class struggle in Lang s time. The iris effect on Maria emphasizes her angelic nature, and adoption of Christian values. As a devout catholic, Lang intended Maria to adopt notions of equality which are obsolete in the society of Metropolis, the head of the city, Joh Frederson, possessing a capitalist outlook. He is the embodiment of power over the workers as suggested by his body posture and stern facial expressions. Moreover, Maria acts as a catalyst to the Mediator, who is Freder, as suggested by the chiaroscuro lighting on his face in the catacombs. Freder s actions in the Moloch scene in which he reaches out his hands to help the workers represents his Christian nature and foreshadows his ability to undo the inequality of class in which Metropolis has been founded.
