This document discusses a study on the use of waste polythene in concrete. The study found that including waste polythene in concrete mixtures at amounts up to 0.75% by weight of cement led to increased compressive strength at 7 and 28 days, compared to a control mixture without polythene. Further, flexural strength also increased with inclusion of polythene up to 0.75%, above which strengths started to decrease. The optimal amount of polythene replacement was found to be 0.75%, which provided strength gains without significant compromise.
