Urban sprawl is the growth of urban and suburban areas into rural land. This document discusses the issue of urban sprawl in Canada. 2. The Issue Urban Sprawl is the growing of urban and suburban locations, which are taking over rural areas. These locations are homes to most of the population and because the majority of the population is in urban/suburban areas then that means not only is that bad for rural places but it’s also bad for the people in the the sprawling places. These locations affect pollution and traffic fatalities.

3. Urban Sprawl In Canada Canada is one of the countries with a lot of urbanization not as much as others though. Natural or rural areas have been taken by the government to make room for urban growth. As a whole Canada has only changed urbanely by 5.04%. Each major city in Canada has grown some what rapidly over the years.

7. Effects of Urban Sprawls Environmentally Take away rural areas so less trees and more urban/suburban areas More cars which pollutes the air. This also affects peoples health. The air in rural areas are known to be much cleaner because there is less polluted air than in the urban areas.

8. Partial Resolution The people living in rural areas should have some sort of permit keeping the urban areas away from them. So they can grow their crops without the disturbances of urban locations. They would have the permit include that the urbanized places should be a certain distance so the polluted area won’t affect the people in the rural areas health.
