The Challenges of Creating Mobile Games for Regulated Health SituationsSeriousGamesAssoc
For the past several years, game and media producer Beth Rogozinski has turned her attention to making games for mental and behavioral health – some of which have been submitted to the FDA to be regulated as a Class Two medical devices and are available only with a prescription. These games are based on clinical data and random control trials – making the process of developing fun and engaging games even more challenging. Add to that the FDA oversight and rigorous testing and QA specifications and game making becomes serious business indeed. But well worth it. Outcomes with these games and apps can far exceed treatment as usual and for mental and behavioral health patients these games can provide the privacy, dignity and access that they’re never before had.

Due to a diversified society, many of modern people are under stress and anxiety which cause
mental illnesses. Moreover, the social costs of psychotherapy and solution is so high that it cannot be limited to
a problem for individuals realistically. In this paper, we implement an m-Health application that can provide
preemptive art therapy services to reduce social costs and medical expenses. The implementation of the mHealth
application for art therapy has an advantage that social consideration class (the elderly, post-traumatic
stress disorder, etc.) can get treatment without leaving records by receiving medical welfare service of art
therapy in conjunction with professional therapist. Consultation clients are treated through the visit of a
professional therapist and the recorded videos are transmitted to a professional psychotherapy center server if
clients agree to shooting and recording of the processes. Based on the outcomes derived from the consultation
processes, we aim to build a database of the medical records and the new treatment program and apply it to mHealth.
Therefore, we expect to establish the criteria of objectivity, quantify, accuracy and the automaticity of
psychological treatment analysis.
Psychophysiology of positive and negative emotions, dataset of 1157 cases and...Maciej Behnke
Subjective experience and physiological activity are fundamental components of emotion. There is an increasing interest in the link between experiential and physiological processes across different disciplines, e.g., psychology, economics, or computer science. However, the findings largely rely on sample sizes that have been modest at best (limiting the statistical power) and capture only some concurrent biosignals. We present a novel publicly available dataset of psychophysiological responses to positive and negative emotions that offers some improvement over other databases. This database involves recordings of 1157 cases from healthy individuals (895 individuals participated in a single session and 122 individuals in several sessions), collected across seven studies, a continuous record of selfreported affect along with several biosignals (electrocardiogram, impedance cardiogram, electrodermal activity, hemodynamic measures, e.g., blood pressure, respiration trace, and skin temperature). We experimentally elicited a wide range of positive and negative emotions, including amusement, anger, disgust, excitement, fear, gratitude, sadness, tenderness, and threat. Psychophysiology of positive and negative emotions (POPANE) database is a large and comprehensive psychophysiological dataset on elicited emotions.

Background to Chosen Evidence-Based Intervention:
List the primary points for six sections.
i) Background of the practice problem/gap at the project site
One of the primary causes of disability worldwide, depression affects a sizable percentage of the population. Persistent feelings of sadness and guilt, changes in sleeping patterns (insomnia or oversleeping), changes in appetite, decreased mental and physical energy, unusual irritability, inability to enjoy once-enjoyed activities, difficulty working, and thoughts of death or suicide are all symptoms that can be associated with any type of depressive disorder. These "down" symptoms alone may indicate a unipolar depressive disorder like dysthymia or severe depression if they are present. A person may be diagnosed with bipolar illness if they experience alternating spells of depression and euphoria. Adolescents and young adults increasingly have difficulties with their mental health (Poppen et al., 2016). An individual's mental health is something only they can fully comprehend, making it difficult for friends and loved ones to spot warning signs in time to intervene. Juvenile and young adult suicide is a major problem in today's world. A lack of life experiences, self-confidence, and faith in one's own skills contribute to the suicides of many young individuals.
ii) Significance of the practice problem/gap at the project site
Mental illness has been a problem that is affected the population for a long period and worryingly young people and adolescents are experiencing many effects that lead to some committing suicide. The stress that today's youth encounter nowadays is the most significant of all these issues, especially the pressure they receive based on their academic expectations and poor communication about their troubles to their parents. There is also a gap in the schools in terms of students receiving counseling services because there are limited professional counselors that attend to student needs. Despite the fact that psychologists claim stress could be caused by anything, many young people find the rapid pace of modern life to be a significant source of anxiety. Many young individuals are inspired to take their own lives by the media's glorified depiction of suicide (Poppen et al., 2016). The reality that suicide is always fatal seems to be lost on many young people. Young people, in other words, consider suicide an o ...
The Gamified Well-being for all Ages paper was co-written by Lucia Pannese and Antonio Ascolese of Imaginary and david Wortley of GAETSS.
This paper explores the role of technology and gamification strategies in addressing serious societal health issues by providing tools and practices which support healthy ageing (thereby reducing the cost of care for the elderly). These tools and practices also provide an infrastructure and ecosystem that enables effective care and rehabilitation to take place in a home environment with more cost effective patient management from remote medical professionals. This paper emphasises the importance and cost effectiveness of preventative healthcare based on influencing patient lifestyle behaviours, awareness and understanding and the value of citizen empowerment in personal health management.
The paper is based on the experiences of major European projects Rehab@Home, Pegaso and Doremi where the author’s company has been developing technology tools and gamified applications to improve physical and mental wellbeing for ages from teenagers to the elderly.
Mobile Apps for Mental Health: Overview and a Social Gaming FrameworkIJERDJOURNAL
ABSTRACT:- This paper reviews current research on the role of Smartphones and similar technology play in mental health and mental health maintenance, promotion, and assessment. The first section overviews the current state of the art concerning the role Smartphones may play as tools for mental health in general. The second part reviews one of the more promising Smartphone application areas related to social gaming and gambling addiction and related mental health issues. This is followed by a section that presents a prototype Smartphone app for data collection related to social gaming behaviours and their potential relevance to gaming and gambling addictions. The prototype app is outlined in order to delineate the major components required for collecting player data as a means of inferring behaviour. The final section overviews the inclusion of technology such as Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality in apps being developed and directed toward mental health.

including text extraction using the Naïve Bayes machine learning model for text classification, the early
signs of depression and anxiety are measured using DASS-21 parameter. In total, 22,934 Facebook posts
were contributed as training and learning data collected from July 2017 until July 2018. As a results,
analysis and mapping of social demographics of users that are usually as a trigger of depression, and
anxiety, such as grief, illness, household affairs, children education and others are available.

Keynote by Alvaro Fernandez at BrainFutures 2017. Washington, DC. September 6th, 2017.
Hundreds of science labs and companies around the globe are researching and developing new ways to help brain owners be smarter, sharper and healthier. What explains this flurry of activity, and where may it be headed? Which companies, technologies and solutions are gaining the most traction so far, and what are some of the best practices for appropriate use?

Presentation by Alvaro Fernandez at the New York Neuropsychology Group (NYNG) 2017 Annual Spring Conference.
Hundreds of companies around the globe–now including Elon Musk’s Neuralink and even Facebook–are researching and developing new ways to help brain owners be smarter, sharper, and healthier. What explains this flurry of activity, and where may it be headed? What are the opportunities and challenges for the Neuropsychologists of the Future? We will structure the conversation around five emerging and thought-provoking statements:
1. There are 7.5 billion human brains out there, and everyone needs help 2. Lifelong neuroplasticity means all those brains can “sculpt” themselves 3. Mobile, sensing, wearable technologies, coupled with artificial intelligence (AI), provide a new platform to harness that neuroplasticity for good 4. Entrepreneurship and investments are fueling accelerated growth 5. Professionals are stepping up to help educate consumers and patients.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
