Cross site scripting (XSS) is a type of computer security vulnerability typically found in web applications, but in proposing defensive measures for cross site scripting the websites validate the user input and determine if they are vulnerable to cross site scripting. The major considerations are input validation and output sanitization.
There are lots of defense techniques introduced nowadays and even though the coding methods used by developers are evolving to counter attack cross site scripting techniques, still the security threat persist in many web applications for the following reasons:
• The complexity of implementing the codes or methods.
• Non-existence of input data validation and output sanitization in all input fields of the application.
• Lack of knowledge in identifying hidden XSS issues etc.
This proposed project report will briefly discuss what cross site scripting is and highlight the security features and defense techniques that can help against this widely versatile attack.

The SolarWinds attack brought additional scrutiny software supply chain security, but concerns about organizations’ software supply chains have been discussed for a number of years. Development organizations’ shift to DevOps or DevSecOps has pushed teams to adopt new technologies in the build pipeline – often hosted by 3rd parties. This has resulted in build pipelines that expose a complicated and often uncharted attack surface. In addition, modern products also incorporate code from a variety of contributors – ranging from in-house developers, 3rd party development contractors, as well as an array open source contributors.
This talk looks at the challenge of developing secure build pipelines. This is done via the construction of a threat model for an example software build pipeline that walks through how the various systems and communications along the way can potentially be misused by malicious actors. Coverage of the major components of a build pipeline – source control, open source component management, software builds, automated testing, and packaging for distribution – is used to enumerate likely attack surface exposed via the build process and to highlight potential controls that can be put in place to harden the pipeline against attacks. The presentation is intended to be useful both for evaluating internal build processes as well as to support the evaluation of critical external vendors’ processes.

Customer trust and security is paramount for Salesforce. While containerization is great for DevOps due to flexibility, speed, isolation, transient existence, ease of management and patching, it becomes a challenging environment when the sensitivity level of the data traversing the environment increases. Monitoring systems, applications and network; performing disk, memory and network forensics in case of an incident; and vulnerability detection can easily become daunting tasks in such a volatile environment.
In this presentation we would like to discuss the infrastructure we have built to address these issues and to secure our Docker container platform while we rapidly containerize Salesforce. Our solutions focus on securing the container pipeline, building security into the architecture, monitoring, Docker forensics (disk, memory, network), and automation. We also would like to demonstrate some of our live memory analysis capabilities we leverage to assure container and application integrity during execution.

The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling.
