This workshop will give a good opportunity to participants to get acquainted with the main concepts taken into account in the different existing MOOC approaches from pedagogical, technical and market perspectives. This hands-on session will allow participants to establish proper mappings between learning objectives and the choices for designing and developing their MOOC considering learning, human and budgetary resources. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a better overview of how their MOOCs would look like from the design perspective and initial plans for their implementation would be prepared.

In this session we will discuss why you should or should not use video in your MOOC. Once you have decided whether video is one of the media that you will apply in your media mix, we will look at how you can produce appropriate video yourself, in your organisation or with additional, external support. We will discuss pedagogical as well as technical and organisational issues. After this session you should be able to decide whether you can and want to use video and draw up a plan to effectively produce and deploy it in your next MOOC.

Overview of C-SAP open educational resources projectCSAPOER
This presentation showcases, discusses and reflects upon the work of the C-SAP "Open Educational Resources" project. Our project, "Evaluating the Practice of Opening up Resources for Learning and Teaching in the Social Sciences", was part of a pilot programme (funded by the HEA and JISC), which sought to explore issues around the sharing of educational material from a disciplinary perspective. Whilst exploring, with our academic project partners, the principles and issues around releasing educational material (institutional, contractual, administrative), we have also sought to develop some insights into the processes of sharing practice, and look forward to discussing the findings in this forum.

Combining openness and scalability, MOOCs have been spearheading the dramatic expansion of online education in recent years. However, very different pedagogical approaches can be found in this new form of education delivery. Apart from the more typical xMOOC model and the original connectivist cMOOC alternative pedagogical approaches have been developing in Europe, pioneered by the iMOOC model. In this workshop we will analyze the theoretical foundations and principles of MOOC design and explore the different pedagogies being mostly used in these courses.

Teacher design teams can be an effective way to promote the (re)design of curriculum materials in the context of blended learning in higher education. In this workshop, participants (educators, department heads, researchers,…) are introduced to the four-step procedure to blended learning. This procedure was developed during a professional development project by a community of practitioners (see www.ictdesignteams.be for more information). The workshop consists of three parts: first a short introduction of the project and the ICT design teams; then TDT's will be formed (under the guidance of the workshop leaders). Each TDT redesigns a particular case of 'traditional' learning into a blended design. The workshop will end with a group-reflection on the four-step approach and working in TDT's. No prior experience is expected from the workshops participants. The workshop should be interesting for any stakeholder in higher education involved in the process of integrating blended learning into the curriculum.

10. Univirtual Lab A training framework: ILEP (Margiotta, 2006) (information, laboratory , evaluation, personalization) ILEP is an instrumental framework that defines a teaching progressively oriented to promote different steps in the dynamic, cognitive and metacognitive growing up of the students. The ILEP framework contains and formalizes the following hypothetical steps of the teaching action: INFORMATION: This step cover the process that communicates knowledge, focused on the activation and the organisation on knowledge and experience schemes. The teacher, in this step, promotes on student the acquisition of new information, new patterns of reasoning and analogical understanding LAB: This step includes activities where students learn to explore, prove, falsify, and corroborate what they learn; laboratory is the experimental environment in which students learn to apply what it is known in different and problematic environments of human experience. ASSESSMENT: This third step relates to recursive stages of analysis, interpretation and justification of learning results with a particular focus on their generalization. This step could be characterized as a continuous participatory analysis of learning process by students. PERSONALIZATION: This is a recursive action that promotes students’ capacities to explore and to identify rules with which it Is possible to discover new rules of knowledge /experience composition and combination. This is an inventive step: students learn to mastery knowledge and experiences, to gain and to equilibrate attitudes, to understand differences in the largest world, to speak different alphabets , to act a well founded citizenship.
