What is UDL? Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a set of principles for curriculum development that gives all students equal opportunities to learn. -from the National Center On Universal Design for Learning

UDL and Barkley Students at Barkley Elementary can greatly  benefit from UDL. Webspiration- Helps all students organize their thoughts through graphic organizers.
UDL and Barkley Students at Barkley Elementary can greatly  benefit from UDL. Voki-Customized avatar will read aloud to ESL students and struggling readers.

Brain Research and Learning Differences Brain research helps educators understand how learners differ. It also helps us recognize our students’ strengths and weaknesses. Recognition Network Helps students recognize voices, faces, letters, words, and patterns Strategic Network Helps students to process their actions and plans Affective Network Helps students to recognize emotion and express emotion
Brain Research and Education As educators, we should meet the need of every student. Teaching a different lesson to each student may not feasible, but addressing all networks of the brain during one lesson is realistic. Recognition-Provide multiple ways to present key concepts Strategic-Provide multiple ways for students to express themselves Affective-Provide multiple means of engagement
Brain Research and Technology With technology, educators have many means of support to meet their students’ needs by addressing each of the 3 networks of the brain.
