Movie And Film Version Of To Kill A Mockingbird
The film version of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), which stars Gregory Peck as Atticus and Mary
Badham as Scout, is as much a classic as the novel itself. (The film received eight Academy Awards
nominations and netted awards for Best Actor, Best Screenplay Based on Material from Another
Medium, and Best Art Direction Set Decoration, Black and White.)
Ideally, a novel and its film version complement each other, which, on many levels, is the case with
To Kill a Mockingbird. However, film can accomplish things that novels can t, and vice versa.
Likewise, film has limitations that a novel doesn t. This essay explores some of the differences
between To Kill a Mockingbird, the film and the novel.
Narration
By its nature, film is a visual medium, which makes a first person story difficult to tell. To have
Scout narrating throughout the film as she does in the book would prove distracting, so Scout as
narrator is only presented to set the mood of a scene in the film. As a result, viewers don t get a
strong sense of Scout s first person narration as they do in the book; instead, they simply notice the
childlike perspective portrayed in the story. (The film uses music to help reinforce the child s point
of view. The music is very elementary, and much of the score is composed of single notes without
chords or embellishments.)
Because the narration is not as straightforward in the film, the film seems to shift more to Jem s
experiences. For example, Jem finds all the articles in

The Pros And Cons Of Antisemitism
Equally as important, I ve noticed that antisemitism and racism are associated with their racially
constructed prejudice principles. As mentioned continuously throughout my essay, these terms
comparably show those oppressed seen as lesser than those of other races. In particular, I ve found
that Jews were viewed as if they were like the unfamiliar people that were already known as
inferior (Burton and Loomba 21). Thus, this automatically encouraged me to believe that Jewswere
compared to people that were already dealing with racism. Plainly, it connects those that follow
racism with anti semites because they are both viewing Jews and people of color as the same
inferior races and not as individuals. I ve also realized that Eugenics have even gone on to
illustrate that physical traits testify to personality traits and intelligence, which is used against
people of color and Jews by those that are racist or anti semitic. For example, Jews and blacks
were viewed to have ingratitude and stubbornness , which are known to be undesirable traits
(Burton and Loomba 21). If that isn t prejudiced enough, Eugenics have even compared the lower
races to the female of the human species, which is believed to be inferior to the stronger male
races (Levine 55). These apparent male races came to be accepted as European whites . Therefore,
racism and antisemitisms use of racial inferiority connects them as similar entities. I have even
realized that there is a homogeneous

Free College Debate Analysis
Throughout the 2016 presidential debate, the issue of free college has been a discussion between
the democratic candidates. This is a very controversial topic. Senator Bernie Sanders plans on
eliminating tuition fees at public colleges, and Hilary Clinton favors increasing student aid.
Attending a university is a privilege which many are not able to afford. Many of my friends were
not able to go to collegebecause of the hefty price tags that come along with higher education.
Every year the tuition of attending a university grows significantly. Those who are not able to pay
the fees, decided on another alternative which is to go straight to work after high school or
enroll in the military. In theory, free college seems like a magnificent idea because people from
both part of the spectrum would receive aid to attend the university. For millions of families, their
children would be able to obtain a college degree and live a better financial life. However, this
policy only applies to public schools. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students will cut class more frequently, tests will not be important because at the end of day, if
they fail a class, the money will not be coming out of their pockets. This would be the similar
case for college students. Many students would forgo college to pursue another passion. If
college is free, students will not value their education. If there is a free college, there will be an
abundance of highly qualified individuals working at jobs that will not require a degree. If the
job market is competitive as it is, imagine if everyone had a bachelor s degree? Now a days, even
a bachelor s degree does not guarantee a job, therefore students are obtaining master and doctoral
degrees. Many might argue that loans are detrimental for students. However I believe it is the
complete opposite. With loans, students would strive to excel in their academics and will be eager

CHAPTER 3 During the Colonial Society in the 18th Century many things happened Colonial
Growth, Economic Boom, and the diverse branches of religion growing. Germans , Scott Irish

government was present but only white male owners were limited to participate in the voting
process. Everyone that wasn t a slave in this society had the opportunity to move up in social
status. It was a patriarchal society during 18th Century that consisted of the men running the
household and the family business. Whether you were in the upper class or not consisted if you
had slaves working for you. Britain was controlling when it came to having a great exponential in
exporting, they didn t want America to succeed more than them and input laws. Religion divided
sectors of the colonies when the diverse religions arrived and discrimination was faced. Authority
of Religion was lost during this time especially Anglican because the King of England was the
head of the Church and therefore, many stopped seeing him as leader. In the Colonies the Cultural
life was very much well adopted from England due to it s habitants. The time of The Enlightment ,

Conflict has always been an influential part of the history of man. Conflicts associated with trade,
are some of the most common products of human existence. It simply means to trade something for
something else and some ended up unhappy in the end. The items traded might be goods, services,
relationships, methods or ideas. Although once the initial terms of a transaction have been settled,
often disputes arise after the fact. Believe it or not Paid in full does not mean that the relationship
ends for neither the buyer nor the seller. A buyer might say This is not what you told me you were

Extreme Of The Mohave Dessert
Extreme in the Mohave dessert
Mohave dessert spread across Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and some part of the State of California and
its climate reflects extremes of hot and cold. At winters temperatures are cool, as low as 8
Fahrenheit while the summer reaches about 120 Fahrenheit , winds are present years round blow
about 25 MPH regularly and gusts of 75MPH. all the time extreme is unsustainable either for the
weather or in any matter.
I was wrong and I learned the lesson in a hard way, mostly when extreme things happen to
someone, the first thing come to our mind is taking an extreme measure. I was one of those
people who took an extreme measure. My decision moved to Nevada was made in two weeks
time when 16 Fahrenheit cold weather kicked in South Dakota, and when the days are dark and
depression hanged and rolled on my shoulder. I remember those exciting days that I drove from
South Dakota to Nevada and how the weather in Nevada open its(his) arms and comforted me;
very peaceful and calm down weather, I felted like eating the cold yogurt in a warm weather. I
never forget those days, I truly ask the question to myself, how priceless is the beautiful air we
breathe in, the sun set sky images of an ombre of dark purple painting behind the mountains, and the
moon hangs on the sky before the sun set.
In a month time after I moved, I got a job which I love to work out door. In June The Mohave

Summary Of The Idea Of Order At Key West
Art has the power to enhance consciousness as well as alter the way in which one perceives the
world around them. The process of which one experiences life from the means of their imagination
intensifies their perspicacity of the external reality. This alteration becomes seamlessly natural, and
goes unnoticed as emotions override the mind, and generates creativity. However, the dynamics of
nature are questionable in relation to how it holds inspiration to one s creative expression.
Artistic expression is essential in Wallace Steven s, The Idea of Order at Key West because it
illustrates the relationship between mind and nature. She sang beyond the genius of the sea suggest
that the woman s voice surpassed the spirit of the sea. Just (Impartial) ... Show more content on

It was her voice that made/The sky acutest at its vanishing (34 35). The woman s voice is what
captures the beauty of the sky during the sunset. Her artistic style compliments the environment in
with the speaker and Ramon seem to observe. Besides the theatrical distances and mountainous
atmospheres , no emotion or meaning is taken from the dramatic setting, only the woman s voice.
She was the single artificer of the world/In which she sang. And when she sang the sea,/Whatever
self it had, became the self./That was her song, for she was the maker, (37 40). The power of art
is truly displayed by not only changing the speaker s perception but also creating a world for which
he envisions through his imagination.
The concept of order can be taken into consideration solely to reflect that the singer is the one
altering the speaker s perception of the nature. As sound was a vital implication, silence As the night
descended and light mastered the night reveals the strong effect the song had on the speaker, as it
still carried on even after the artificer stopped singing. The natural world remains the same, but the
perceptibility changed and created more intensity.
The relationship between imagination and realism holds truth that beyond one s experiences and
sensibility has a role on how they will grasp meaning to their own world. For it is the impact of
externalizing the notions of the aesthetic and order that one can possess an understanding of

Critical Analysis Of Ode To The West Wind By Percy Shelley
Title:Ode to the West Wind
Author : Percy Shelley
I read this poem last week .It only took me about 15 miniutes. But I will take a long time to keep it
in my mind forerver.
Brief summary: The West Wind acts as a force for change and forward movement in the human
and natural world. Shelley sees winter not just as the last season of vegetation but as the last phase
of life. Shelley observes the changing of the weather from autumn to winter and its effects on the
environment. Shelley is trying to show that a man s ideas can spread and live on beyond his
lifetime by having the wind carry his dead thoughts which through destruction, will lead to a rebirth
in the imagination, and in the natural world.
Evaluation: It is worth to read over and over again. In Ode To The West Wind, shelly wants to
show his desire for transcendence. They need an act just like the west wind, in order to change and
improve the natural and human world. And I am strongly shocked ... Show more content on

farmer with his last breath, I am rightly served for pitying a scoundrel.
Evaluation: it is worth to read. This story told us that the greatest kindness will not bind the

Introduction
Writing has existed as far back as the 7th millennium BC and the 4th millennium BC, it first started
with mnemonic symbols which later became a system of ideograms. In the early days people wrote
on different things, such as silk, rocks, wood, papyrus etc. It wasn t Until the 15th century were
parchment or vellum (calfskin) were used as pages for the first books.
A book can be said to be a set of written or printed made of ink and paper usually fastened
together or coupled electronically (e books) for the purpose of storing or recording information.
Collins and Cheek (1999) explained that reading involves a complex thought process in order to
understand a writing or printed message. According to Rubin (2002), reading is a total integrative
process that starts with the reader and includes the affective, perceptual, and cognitive domains.
Okebukola (2004) affirms that,by reading books, humans have the tools to transmit knowledge
from one generation to another; it allows one to listen to the wisdom of those who have lived in
the past and so on. This even expressed by religious prophets. The Apostle Paul in the bible
admonished Timothy study to show yourself approved unto God (11 timothy 2:15). Islam values
acquisition of knowledge (literacy, reading, etc.) As very important The holy Qur an reveals that the

Analysis Of Accidental Death Of An Anarchist
In Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo, farce is prevalent throughout the play. Fo
sought to recreate traditional farce and the comedic effect it creates. In Accidental Death of an
Anarchist, Fo succeeded in creating Didactic Farce, combining comedic values of traditional
farce with a rage of injustice. Fo believed farce to be the most effective way to provoke thought
about Pinelli s death. Didactic farce portrays politics and events of the time in a comedic way. The
combination of farcical elements such as Slapstick humor and Commedia Dell arte and the use of
the alienation effect create a didactic play, underlying the corruption in Italy revolving around the
death of Pinelli.
Farce creates a humorous play where characters become involved involuntarily. Farcical elements
include sight gags, physical comedy, and general absurdity. Critics often dislike farce as it is
believed to be a low form of entertainment. The Maniac is primarily Fo s means of presenting
farce in the play. At the start of the play, the Maniac is speaking with Bertozzo in his office about
the different kinds of law when he exclaims, international law, jurisprudence, human rights
legislation, common law, ecclesiastical law, the offside law, LA Law, mother in law (7). The
Maniac begins by saying laws that the people would know. He then talks about the offside law
which is a rule in soccer, LA Law which is an American show, and finally mother in law which is
a family member. These allusions create humor the audience would recognize and build the
Maniac s character as he uses farce to convey information. Later in the play, the journalist is
about to arrive, and the Superintendent says she cannot see the judge. The Maniac quickly
exclaims, I ll change character (55). He proceeds to change clothes, wearing a false mustache and
a black eye patch. This is situational irony as the audience knows of the Maniac s ability to
change character, while for those involved, this is the first time. His new appearance creates
humor as his outfit is absurd and later leads to an exchange with the investigator. Farce also
includes slapstick or physical comedy to further specific points while providing humor. While still
acting as Mark Weeny, the

Although The Mission and BartolomГ© De Las Casas book, The Devastation of the Indies portray
events that took place over two centuries apart, similar features and effects of colonization are
apparent in each account. Slight differences in viewpoints are evident, such as The Mission s
portrayal of the natives in a more humane fashion, but this goes along with the evolution of time

Similar in theme, Roland JoffГ© s film, The Mission, portrays an eighteenth century South America
in which there are two opposing colonial forces. On one side there are imperialist plunderers , both
Spaniards and the Portuguese, who want to get rich and are ready and willing to utilize any method
possible in order to fulfill their insatiable desire for riches including slavery and the massacre of the
natives. On the other hand, there are Jesuit missionaries who desire to peacefully convert the
natives to Christianity. (Ebert, http://www.suntimes.com/ebert) An interesting connection that can
be made between the life of BartolomГ© De Las Casas and a character in The Mission is with
Robert De Niro s character, Mandosa. At one time Captain Mandosa was in charge of massacres
of natives and owned many slaves, but after he killed his brother out of jealousy for his brother s
lover, he repented his sins by joining the priesthood and helping the mission attain their goals. This
has similarities with how De Las Casas got involved in working for the plight of the Indians.
It can be speculated that The Mission has several sources of influence that culminated in its
production and release in 1986. Since it is not possible for Roland JoffГ©, producer of The
Mission or anyone on his staff to have first hand knowledge of the

Very soon production nightmares happened on the set of Jaws. Spielberg realized a very big

Benefits Of A Unified Salary Schedule
There are many advantages and disadvantages to a single, unified salary schedule. These types of

exceptionality, highlighting what is important to the District. However, there are also areas to be
improved, including recruitment and retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). One
exceptional characteristic of the salary schedule is that the vertical steps carry the same monetary
value as the horizontal columns with the exception of completing a Master s degree or a
Specialist degree. This salary schedule indicates an equal value is placed on service and completed
education. Upon completing a degree, staff salaries increase $960 instead of the $480 earned by
simply accumulating additional hours of education.

The Fool Or Jester, Hired By Olivia
Feste is presented as the fool or jester, hired by Olivia to entertain as an allowed fool. Feste can
speak however he likes to anyone and everyone, including a well respected person such as
Olivia. It seems that he almost reverses the roles. He talks down to people that have higher ranks
than he. At one point, Feste says to Olivia Do you not hear fellows? Take away the lady, making
everyone else seem as they are the fool.
Feste is actually quite clever and witty, though it may not seem like it. He shows the readers this
with his language, word play, puns, as well as his quick wit. In scene 5, Feste begins with He that
is well hanged in this world needs to fear no colours. Maria also plays into the comedy of the
Twelfth Night. Maria and Feste are like a comedy duo participating in quick, witty, and comedic
exchanges.
A theme throughout many of Shakespeare s works, is disguise. His characters seem to love to
disguise themselves. It turns to be quite important, especially in his comedies. In the Twelfth
Night, it seems to be quite ironic. Feste dresses as a wise man. He is trying to be comedic, even
though he is a wise man. He reveals his true nature without many knowing. It was a great value
added by Shakespeare; he showed the audience a glimpse of Feste s true nature. Disguise is a key
element in the Twelfth Night. The main disguise would be Viola dressing as Cesario.
Feste likes to play with words and occasionally seems to talk nonsense. Feste

Themes In Waiting For Godot
Interpreting those characters in the play, we can find that Beckett uses those characters to
demonstrate the suffering life accompanied with the economic development in western society
after 1950s. Du suggests that Estragon, Vladimir, Pozzo and Lucky represent French, Russian,
Italian and British respectively (Du 223). They both have no direction, accept the irony of fate and
waste their life in endless waiting. Vladimir and Estragon is the representation of human beings
who have the seven emotion and six sensory pleasures, which means they are able to be angry, sad
and have memory. Compared with Pozzo, Luckyand Estragon, Vladimir is the only man who
carries memory of yesterday in the second act but he fails to prove the existence of yesterday,...

In Du s perspective, Godot owns the same status with the God, which is deem to save people
from miseries but failed to appear again and again (Du 224). According to what mentioned in the
first few paragraphs, the disappearance of Godot is accordance with the decline of the power of
religion and the insane behaviors of Vladimir and Estragon also echo people in the troubled times
when religions are no longer the vita important thing. They wait for Godot to give them a better
future and take them out of the current life they lived but they make no efforts except waiting and
praying. Redeemer is the eternal hope and image among human beings, especially in the troubled
times, however, in the second half of the twenties century, the hedonism and money worship make
people spend more time in libertinism or sit around, like Vladimir and Estragon, so that they lose
the capability to save themselves. Moreover, the image of Godot can be interpreted as the meaning
of life itself, which Vladimir and Estragon spends the whole time in the play to reach for but they
fail to find Godot and know the real identity of Godot. The writer of the play, Samuel Beckett, is the
advocator of the existentialism whose perspective is that philosophical thinking comes from human
subject, which means that there is no preset meaning of life ( Existentialism ). In the play, Vladimir
and Estragon do nothing but waiting the coming of the meaning of life, Godot, which is opposite
with the viewpoint of the existentialism. Vladimir and Estragon have no idea that the meaning of
life should be found from themselves but not the unknown person because the value, essence and
meaning are both defined by human actions but not the illusory power. During the war years, the
meaning of life was obvious, protecting our home

The French Of French History
For the duration of French history, those in high positions of power have endeavored to create and
control culture in their personal interest. Countless rulers comprehended that the portrayal of
power, in contemporary conditions what would be described as an image, is an embodiment of
authority in itself. Cleverly, artists, artisans and intellectuals were employed as patrons on behalf of
the ruling forms of government, manufacturing pieces that declared the validity of their power,
fortified their supremacy, and intensified their stature. Often, the artistic urges of the artists behind
the pieces were suppressed, conflicting personal impulse with the goals of ruling government. The
correlation between power and politics, and thus the French cultured yielded through such a
calculated relationship, is tainted by the very progenitors of the culture itself. The so called
achievements of French history are exacted as much by dissension and censorship as much as they
are exacted by collaboration and patronage. In accordance with such an awareness of the true
circumstances of French government and its intimate relationship with culture, most notably in the
absolutist monarchy under Louis XIV, art becomes an invaluable resource meant to be utilized as a
tool for the uncovering and understanding the realities of the time period, and its correlation with
the politics, economics and social structures of late 17th century France (Leffler). By understanding

German Schools Vs American Schools
American schools and German schools have many differences.
In the United States, students customize much of their education, especially at higher grade levels.
They must study core curriculum, like math, English, and science, but also can choose what
language they take, whether they take art classes or shop class, and so forth. They make decisions
about what interests they wish to explore, and they can change that decision if they discover they
do not care for it.
German students have a much more prescribed curriculum and are not able to explore as many of
their own interests in the classroom. German students learn many of the same basics as American
students, but their education paths diverge earlier than students in the US. Starting in

A Girl and Her Downfall After a Man Attacks Her
She was alone, making her way home on a beautiful summer s night. The colour filled skies and
the warm breeze persuaded her to take the long way home. Walking through the empty, lifeless
streets. With every small step she took she smiled. Everything was falling in to place. Her life
was back on track, she found him. The man of her dreams. The person to make her feel alive, to
show her she hadn t been living. Smiling as she walked further and further down the motionless
streets. But little did she know that he was there. Waiting, watching, following her every move.
Hiding in the shadows, waiting for his chance to strike. He followed her step by step, his
breathing increasing as he got closer. She was completely oblivious, so happy that she was left
vulnerable. He inched closer and closer, his heart pounding louder with every waft of her scent.
His adrenaline growing at the thought of the unthinkable act he was going to commit. He
gripped her from behind with one arm tightly wrapped around her petite waist, placing his large
free hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Her once so pretty eyes, wide in
disbelief as he dragged her struggling body in to the darkness of the shadows. Stabbing her with
a large needle to stop her from fleeing, he then violently threw her to the hard cold ground. He
moved over her and she clamped her eyes shut. Unable to look at her attacker as he rendered her
helpless. She could feel his breath staggering on her neck. His uneven breathing

High School Football Benefits
Participating in high school football has had a beneficial impact on myself as a person. Football
has prepared me for situations and scenarios I will face during adulthood. Football workouts and
activities occupied almost every day from the beginning of July to the end of October. This
experience is similar to a person going to work almost every single day. If an individual on our
team was ever tardy for a football function, the player was punished. The gameof football also
taught me to face adversity; in the game of football not everything can go your team s way, but it
is the way the team meets the challenge that shows who they really are. This applies in the business
world.

asked Corporal Shanek What are we doing? as they approached. Corporal Shanek was on the
phone with Lt. Berthia as I doubled back and around the cafГ© to cut Eastin off at the main

Everyday people are paying attention to celebritys advice, since they seem to be very successful.
They want to listen to their advice to make their own lives prosperous. However, some of this

The Flea, By Andrew Marvell
John Donne s, The Flea, and Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress are persuasive poem in
which the speaker is attempting to establish a sexual union with his significant other. These poems
is spoken by a male lover to his female beloved as an attempt to convince her to sleep with him.
John Donne and Marvell brings out and shapes this meaning through his collective use of conceit,
rhythm, and rhyme scheme. The basic theme of the poems is the speaker s need to turn his coy
mistress into a willing mistress .
Donne uses the flea as a conceit, to represent a sexual union with his significant other. Marvell
using his way with words to convince his lover to a sexual union. In the first stanza in The Flea,
a flea bites the speaker and woman. He responds to this incident by saying, And in this flea our
bloods mingled be. (line 4). He is suggesting that they are united in this flea and would equally
be united in intimacy. In the first stanza of To His Coy Mistress , the speaker tells his woman
that if they had more time and space that her coyness wouldn t be a crime. He says this, Had we
but World enough, and Time, This coyness lady were no crime . (line 1,2) Marvell also would
compliment her and admire her. In the Flea , the speaker tries to marry the man and woman while
in To His Coy Mistress the man is not trying to marry the
Duncan 2 two but trying to get the lady to sleep with him by using time. Donne states, This flea is

Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief
I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so
the resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in
individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an
affirmation of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the
chances of individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a
group of individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the
interests of the largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the
interests of the majority. And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority
than the minority (duh), collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have
their interests protected than not. Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of
individual prosperity. However, this is not only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical
examples of this holding true in practice as well. Just take a look at nature we can easily observe
a large variety of species that instinctively live in large, interactive groups in which collective
welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison,
sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and many more fall into this category. There is a
reason why such a

During his lifetime, he was a strong ruler and after his death he became the god of the dead, of
afterlife and of the underworld. The legend about Osiris s death at the hand of his jealous
brother Seth is one of the main reasons why the Egyptians believe in life after death. It is
believed that after Isis (Osiris s wife) found Osiris s dead body in Phoenicia, she brought the
body back to Egypt and buried it. Set (Osiris s brother and god of storm and violence) came to
the place where the body was buried, tore the body up into pieces and scattered those pieces all

##ethical Analysis Of God Is Dead By Friedrich Nietzsche
I was really confused when I first stumbled across reading this quote. I didn t really understand
what Nietzsche was saying from the phrase God is dead . After talking with my classmates and
doing some research I got a better understanding about the quote. Most people didn t understand
it like me at first and they thought Nietzsche interpreted in a literal death or end of God. I think
Nietzsche says this quote because he was an atheist and he had a different perspective about God
which he never even believed in. Most people believe that God is all knowing and powerful so he
or she can t die. The understanding I got from this quote is that I think Nietzsche is trying to say
that is not relevant to people anymore meaning that people don t care. Friedrich Nietzscheis a well
known philosopher who influenced many topics in the world and was not really a fan of religion.
This quote is widely known by everyone and it is first shown in his 1882 collection The Gay
Science . The phrase God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him can have many
meanings to different people. I interpreted this phrase by thinking that people don t care about
and no more have a use for God. In a sense Nietzsche is saying that large and consistent moral
theories could exist without reference to God. For example, Europe no longer needed God as the
source for all morality, value, or order in the universe. By that I mean philosophy and science was
capable of doing that for us. As the

Setting Clear Boundaries in the Social Work Field
Setting Clear Boundaries In Social Work Many individuals opt for the field of social work so
that others may grow and improve their way of life and have a stable living style. However,
while providing this sort of help to the clients, it is important that social workers are aware of
their ethical boundaries and have communicated this to their clients as well. Setting and
maintain clear boundaries is a very important part of every profession. As far as social work is
concerned where the worker directly influences the lives of his clients, this practice becomes
more important as it has a direct impact on ones professional integrity. Where we see number of
complaints filed against the social workers for breach of ethical boundaries, it is important to
understand what these limitations are and how to adhere to them. In order to understand the
concept of setting clear boundaries, let s have a look at what Dietz and Thompson said about it.
As per them, The concern about appropriate boundaries is, at least in part, a concern about the
effects of the power differential between client and professional. It is primarily a concern about
boundary violations (Dietz and Thompson, 2004, p. 2). In addition to it, it is important to realize
that boundaries provide us safer connections based on the needs of clients we are dealing with
(Peterson, 1992, p. 74). Now that we are aware of what boundaries really are, it is also vitally
significant about what constitutes a breach and how

Marlon Brando as Terry Malloy conveys the tension and perplexity of an incoherent speaker

Throughout this lab, many different experiments were tested on the unknown white compound.
The first test ran was the Solubility Test, which was started by measuring 0.03g of the unknown
substance. Next, measure out 60ml of distilled H2O and mix with 0.03g of unknown. Use a
stirring rod to the substances were mixed together, and observations were made to see if the
unknown dissolves. The use of a ionic solubilitychart was helpful when running this test.
The next test that was conducted in this lab was the Anion/Cation Test. Within the Cation/Anion
test the first experiment was done with the Ammonia Trial. Within this trial,1ml of 6M NaOH was
needed along with 0.03g of the unknown compound, and 1ml of distilled H2O. The Ammonia
Trial will have a chemical compound of NH4(X) + NaOH = NH3 + Na(X) + H2O, where X is
the unknown anion. The first step of this trial was to mix the measured unknown with the H2O.
Once the compound has dissolved, add the NaOH to the solution. By wafting over the solution
determining if an ammonia smell is present, if so the unknown compound will contain
ammonium. The trial was repeated three times and observations were recorded. The next Cation

The Identification Of Good And Evil
The Identification of Good and Evil
A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed,
and forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has
been whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a
philosopher (300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be
directions that indicate our way to good. Throughout the life of a human being, factors contribute to
build personalities, while also creating labels in the social environment. Most of the time, humans
reflect characteristics of those individuals surrounding them. Either those characteristics are good or
evil, they construct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can
tolerate. This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a
personality, and therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label
an individual as good or evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people
interacts with others due to personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as
they share a point of view. For example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by
insecurity, negativity and vandalism, it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the
evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding of an individual is positive, it will create a way to
good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and communicating attribute to the personality of an
individual define if we are good or evil, but also ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people.
Another factor that is essential while people talk about human beings born good or evil is the
illiteracy and ignorance that people tend to have. There are abounding communities that live in
poverty, and as a matter of fact, these communities are more feasible to have crimes regularly. Not
only there are more crimes committed, but also several adults live in an illiterate state. This affects
the communities, since the illiterate adults have little to no interest in education for their children. In

Importance Of Self Driving Cars

Let s say that we theoretically took all teenage drivers off the road and put them in self driving
cars. These are America s newest drivers with the least experience on the road, so think about how
many less accidents there would be. If this is what self driving cars could do in Phoenix, think
about what they could do all over the rest of the world.
Another reason we should have self driving cars is because they are better for the environment.
In an article by Business Insider, Cadie Thompson says Because cars will be automated, there
will be less chance of accidents caused by human error, leading to less traffic congestion. This
would be good for the environment because less traffic means cars spend less time on the road.
Some people get stuck in traffic for hours at a time, which means their car is producing a lot of
CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), and that is very bad for the environment. Less of these traffic jams
would mean that cars would produce a lot less CO2. Imagine that you are driving to work and
get stuck in a traffic jam. You could go through almost a whole tank of gas just waiting to get
through it! But then, you get to the front just to realize that a bad driver ran into the median and
totaled his car. You just released a lot of CO2 into the air because someone crashed their car. And
you don t want to have to do that, do you? Self driving cars would not make these mistakes, you
would spend less time in traffic, leading to less CO2 emissions. Another reason

When Reading “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” By
When reading Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas, Acquainted with the
Night by Robert Frost, and Sestina by Elizabeth Bishops, the authors use unique imagery,
symbolism, and metaphors to demonstrate a dark atmosphere during the poems. Each poem deals
with dark tones such as depression, sadness, and death. By using imagery, symbolism, and
metaphors, the authors are able to intensify the overall mood of the poems. Thomas uses metaphors
to show different settings of his poem throughout the days and Frost utilizes metaphors, symbolism
and imagery to represent the local setting and distant surroundings. In Sestina , Bishop uses imagery

The poem has a balanced rhythm and the first line rhymes with the third and final line of each stanza

throughout where each stanza had exactly ten syllables and every other word was stressed

represented by the night. It doesn t represent death, but it is more of a metaphor for depression
or sadness. The poem tells of a man that is walking alone at night through a city. The narration of
the poem not only uses night as a metaphor, it also uses imagery and symbolism to enhance the
depth of the poem. In the poem, the man hears a cry far away (Frost 503) and he is said to have
outwalked the city light. (Frost 503) This symbolism is used to depict the man as being alone
and not around anything. He has walked away from all the lights of the city and is in the

darkness, Frost writes that it is raining as the man is walking alone at night. The poet uses the dark

Bacon s Rebellion and Challenge
Bacon s Rebellion and Challenge: Bacon s rebellion is a civil war that erupted between the
English and the Indians in the Chesapeake whose main cause was land and labor. Since the
English men were facing hunger, they decided to go out in search of greener pastures that
included the search for new lands to do farming and later change it to cash. The farming itself
involved looking a place that they would plant tobacco and as they were in this process, they
came along some Indian communities who were already residing at their (English) border. That
is when the conflict began whereby the Indian communities were beaten up and forced to flee
from the area. This not only affected the Indians but also former servants who had worked with
the colonialists and were part and parcel of the colonists as they ended up being landless. During
this war, Bacon refused to send any troop that would assist in stopping the conflict leading to
loss of lives and discrimination by the Indians. The Southerners were not needed by the
government and even those who held top positions were ordered to be killed, removed
forcefully from their positions, and sold into slavery. Since these individuals were under Bacon s
power, they had no choice than to comply with the order. This war led to loss of properties and
houses hence the Southerners became displaced and they even lost children due to the bad
weather and sleeping in the cold. In the process of all these Berkeley called for an election to be

The Framers Of The Constitution
Civics and Citizenship
The Framers of the Constitution looked to history for examples of governments that directly
represented the people. Early Romans wanted to create a lasting republic, a government in which
citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. A republic is a government in which
citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. Americans liked the roman form of
government but also knew that eventually the Roman republic became a dictatorship, a government
in which one person rules with all authority. The Framers wanted to avoid the Roman s fate. They
wanted to create a permanent government where the informed citizens ran their own government.
Another historic document the Founders looked to was the Magna Carta. In 1215, many of the
landowning gentry of England rebelled against the unpopular King John. In order to help restore
peace the rebels forced the king to sign the Magna Carta. It placed limits on the power of the
English king and made Parliament the ruling body in England. The English Bill of Rights (1689)
was another document the Framers looked to. It gave the citizens of England certain rights such as
freedom of speech and separation of powers.
John Locke published Two Treatise [essays] of Government in 1689. In these tow documents Locke
proposed that every person had the rights of life, liberty and property. The government cannot take
these unalienable rights away unless they have a reason. Locke also stated that the

My Experience At Middle School
In middle school, 5th to 8th grade, I endure multiple adjective to describe my experience in
middle school. While in Middle School, I struggle with my appearance which has stayed as an
adult. For I always look at myself and all the flaws in my features, as my family members and/or
friends state my beauty features, I will brushed them off by stating the negative feature I
visually observe. Until recently, I ve overcome my inability of reading in public and/or to my
peers. As my cousin passed away tragically, his mother (my Aunt) asked if I will read his poem
to her and a group of 50 strangers. She knew my fear of public speaking, she also knew my
dream of becoming a teacher and starting to a career as a substitute teacher. Therefore, she knew
I needed to overcome the fear of speaking. I am extremely pleased with myself to speak clearly
and to have the strength and encouragement of my family to overcome my greatest fear with a
poem in dedication to my beloved cousin. In 5th grade, my insecurity resulted in myself being
bullied by others for my appearance which I expressed still affects myself as an adult. When

Pneumonic Illness Essay
Pneumonic illness has critical outcomes for the maturing populace. Understanding the maturing
procedure in the lungs is important to give ideal care to our maturing populace. As individuals
ordinarily age, narrowing of the intervertebral plate spaces causes kyphosis or arch of the spine.
The kyphosis edge starts to build more quickly in ladies than men, from a mean of 43В° in
ladies matured 55 60 years, to a mean of 52В° in ladies 76 80 years old. Utilizing radiolabeled

College Sports Persuasive Essay
College sports were originally started to give the school some spirit. It s the same with high
school, it was there to give the kids something to do and give the other kids something to believe
in. But, as time has progressed, college sports have taken a completely different path than high
school. Now collegesports have turned into huge money makers, and high schoolsports struggle to
stay alive. Should college level sports continue as they are? I believe yes, even if it is a bit corrupt,
it is beneficial to the school and could be changed. College sports do a lot to help out the University
s budget. This is undeniable, where else would that TV and cheap knick knack money go? In a
world where thirty percent of America s budgets go to defense, where as five percent goes to
education, the teachers need a different way to get paid. Of course, they have those ridiculous
student loans, but that s a different rant all together. All of that aside, it s hard to argue that college
sports don t help the school. The Gators have earned a hundred and six million dollars in 2008
alone. While some of this money is used in buying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

they need to stop the hard core advertising. Many of the students and coaches are practically
owned by different companies simply because they asked them to advertise. Its clear above that
they don t need the advertising money, so why are they always accepting it? Unless I am
remembering it wrong, it is illegal for non professional players to be paid simply for playing a
game. Stopping the advertising that is just putting money in the coach, and player s, pockets would
benefit everyone. Another thing they could do, is lower how much the coach is getting. 4 million

Toyotomi Hideyoshi s Life In Medieval Japan
In the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and
Tokugawa Ieyasu, successfully created a unified Japanese state by bringing to an end the civil wars.
The most ingenious man of those three unifiers was Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Although primarily this
examination will focus on Hideyoshi as a conquering hero , the efforts and influence that the other
unifiers had on Hideyoshi s life and society in the latter half of sixteenth century Japan will not go
entirely unnoticed. I examine the important events and changes that occurred in medieval Japan at
a time when Nobunaga and Hideyoshi successively were establishing the early modern Japanese
state.
In examining how Hideyoshi became heroised , I attempt to show ... Show more content on

Under the dictator Toyotomi Hideyoshi, samuraipower reached its most ostentatious development.
Balancing progress in civility by continued practice of the military arts, the samurai engaged
heavily in national and local administration simply because they were understood by the rest of
Japanese society as those who had the power to resolve conflicts and keep the peace. Himself a
samurai, and successful military leader and administrator, Hideyoshi also brought his power onto
the social prestige of the high nobility, eventually legitimating himself through the title of kampaku,
or imperial regent. Just over four hundred years earlier, at the height of samurai power, amidst the
chaos and uncertainty of civil war, the populace of medieval Japan lived under the samurai regime.
For more than seven centuries Japan was dominated by this military caste, and today it still greatly
influences social moral and spirit. Therefore, it is necessary to some degree to study and understand
the actions of the samurai, as it is from this position that Hideyoshi ultimately succeeded in winning
the tenka (the realm) and thereby serving as its ruling

Netflix Financial Analysis Essay
I.Introduction
The advent of Internet capable devices has given greater popularity to streaming video on demand.
Arguably, the most well known company leading this change is Netflix. We will discuss the
industry that Netflix works in and the competition it faces. Not every company that attempts to
stream content succeeds, but one fact remains the same: these companies are all chasing the
success Netflix has found, and there are a few which may be able to successfully compete with
Netflix. In addition, we will use the past five years of financial statements to forecast the next three
years of growth for the company.
II.Economic Overview The economic climate in the U.S. today suggests a robust labor market
despite sharply declining industrial output. In fact, many have speculated that the government is
underestimating economic growth, as suggested by the growth in wholesale inventories. With the
stock market at an all time high, with unemployment at 5.8 percent, last quarter economic growth at
5 percent, relative mild consumer price inflation, and the bonanza of cheap gas, there is increased
optimism about the U.S. economy (Chafuen). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Netflix and other streaming services offer a substitute product for traditional cable (one
that binge watching Millennials are increasingly turning to), the declining growth in the cable
sector is a source of new subscribers for Netflix. Low barriers to entry mean that a growing number
of traditional telecom competitors (Verizon, AT T) have announced recent streaming plays, and are
crossing into internet publishing. But those providers see mobile video as a mechanism of
increasing data usage, which is their real source of profit. Porter s 5 forces model would suggest
that this churn of competition will shrink the industry s current robust profit

Life Is Beautiful Film Analysis
Life is Beautiful Movie Analysis
Life is Beautiful, directed by Italian director Roberto Benigni, released in 1997, is a film about
love, war and death. Set just before and during WWII, the main character, Guido falls in love with
the woman of his dreams, they have a child but they get separated by the horrors of the war. Guido
and his little son strive to get reunited with his wife but their internment in a Nazi concentration
camp halts him from doing so. Nevertheless, he slyly keeps in contact with his wife so she knows
they are safe and well.
Roberto Benigni uses cinematic techniques such as music, costume and lighting to convey the
strong theme of love between two characters in the film Life is Beautiful.
In Life is Beautiful, the love between two people is a recurring theme. The music, composed by
Italian light classical composer Nicola Piovani, is one of the major factors that helps successfully
convey this theme to the audience.
In the film, the same upbeat tune is used for many of the romantic scenes between Guido and
Dora. This tune, in a more subtle tone, is the theme song for the film, and when it is repeated for
the romantic themes it gives a powerful sense of love. For example, when Dora falls out of that
farm house, and Guido catches her, the music is used for the first time in a romantic setting. The
same music is then repeated in the scene at the 11 minute mark when Guido falls off his bike into
Dora and they both fall over into a big pile of sand. This

Divine Law In Protestant Countries
The divine law was an idea, which is believed since the middle Ages in Europe.
Kings claimed that they had been chosen by God and were his representatives on earth pore so
only had to look up to God for their actions. This was called the divine right of kings.
Therefore, the kings had absolute power and exercised as wanted.
The same right became that anyone who wanted to depose a king or limit his powers went against
the will of God, which meant sacrilege
In Protestant countries, the idea of the divine right of kings started very strong but tends to
disappear even faster than in Catholic countries where it had never been fully adopted to start.
In Protestant countries it was very difficult to question the authority of the pope but quickly

The Father Of The Nuclear Age Essay
Nowadays, we all know that the development of education is very fast. It can be proved by so
many new things created by the combination of education, especially in science. Long time ago,
in New Zealand, there was a man called The Father of The Nuclear Age who became the main
figure in radioactivity and nuclear physics. His name is Ernest Rutherford. Born as the second
son and the fourth of twelve children in his family in New Zealand, on 30th August 1871, Ernest
Rutherford grew up by believing that education can be a tool to make a big change in the world.
During his studies, he got so many awards because of his efforts developing the modern education
of physic and chemistry. For instance, he got the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and a Baronetcy both in
1908 and 1931. He also did some experiments to developing the atomtheory for several years.
Finally, Ernest Rutherford results from all of his experiment now used in the physic and chemistry
education. In addition, to regard him, his picture appeared in the $100 New Zealand Dollar. He is
a very important person behind the development of modern science and will be remembered for a
long time because of his effort to discovering the theory of radioactivity, found the segment
direction from his radioactivity experiment, and dissecting the atom.
Ernest Rutherford firstly developing the modern science by found the theory of radioactivity from

Summer Student Observation
Introduction
During my time observing the Summer Scholars Program, I witnessed many topics that I have
studied from the book throughout class come to life. I saw the diversity of the students, and got to
involve myself in teacher student interaction. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivators played a big part
in the lessons. The students were involved in discussions small group and whole group. I also
realized how important teacher efficacy is and what a large role it plays in the rapport of the
classroom.
Summer Scholars Program at UNG Gainesville
I completed my field hours at the Summer Scholars Camp that was held at the Gainesville campus
of the University of North Georgia. The camp was comprised of about 50 or so upcoming tenth

The instructor played a song by Eminem, and a trailer from his movie. Afterwards, she explained
the lyrics of the song, and held a discussion about how the artist did not let his geography define
his destiny. I thought this was such a great idea. The students were then given an Ipad and asked to
look up a song that meant the most to them, and they would be able to play the song and share it
with the class. This directly exemplified motivation/incentive to me. It was motivation, in the sense
that they wanted to use the Ipad and look up music to show the class their favorite song. Intrinsic
motivation to be exact. The Journal of Education For Business defines intrinsic motivation as an
activity whose initial impulse originates from self motivation , (Rassuli, 2012, 86.) This was
obviously portrayed, because the students liked the activity they were participating in, so they
voluntarily did it without any prize or reward at the end. I also saw examples of extrinsic
motivation during my time there. A short quiz was done at the beginning of class based on the
lesson from the previous day. Each student was given a card that said true or false, and was asked
to hold up his or her answer when the question was asked. The game started off slow, it was the
end of the day and the students were just not cooperating. The teacher then said, You will get a
prize if you win, it s behind this box. Just like that, the students started throwing their signs up and
trying to beat each other for the right answers. I learned that intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and
incentives are directly seen in the classroom, and most of it depends on the lesson and the
circumstances it is being taught

  • 2. Movie And Film Version Of To Kill A Mockingbird The film version of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), which stars Gregory Peck as Atticus and Mary Badham as Scout, is as much a classic as the novel itself. (The film received eight Academy Awards nominations and netted awards for Best Actor, Best Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium, and Best Art Direction Set Decoration, Black and White.) Ideally, a novel and its film version complement each other, which, on many levels, is the case with To Kill a Mockingbird. However, film can accomplish things that novels can t, and vice versa. Likewise, film has limitations that a novel doesn t. This essay explores some of the differences between To Kill a Mockingbird, the film and the novel. Narration By its nature, film is a visual medium, which makes a first person story difficult to tell. To have Scout narrating throughout the film as she does in the book would prove distracting, so Scout as narrator is only presented to set the mood of a scene in the film. As a result, viewers don t get a strong sense of Scout s first person narration as they do in the book; instead, they simply notice the childlike perspective portrayed in the story. (The film uses music to help reinforce the child s point of view. The music is very elementary, and much of the score is composed of single notes without chords or embellishments.) Because the narration is not as straightforward in the film, the film seems to shift more to Jem s experiences. For example, Jem finds all the articles in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Antisemitism Equally as important, I ve noticed that antisemitism and racism are associated with their racially constructed prejudice principles. As mentioned continuously throughout my essay, these terms comparably show those oppressed seen as lesser than those of other races. In particular, I ve found that Jews were viewed as if they were like the unfamiliar people that were already known as inferior (Burton and Loomba 21). Thus, this automatically encouraged me to believe that Jewswere compared to people that were already dealing with racism. Plainly, it connects those that follow racism with anti semites because they are both viewing Jews and people of color as the same inferior races and not as individuals. I ve also realized that Eugenics have even gone on to illustrate that physical traits testify to personality traits and intelligence, which is used against people of color and Jews by those that are racist or anti semitic. For example, Jews and blacks were viewed to have ingratitude and stubbornness , which are known to be undesirable traits (Burton and Loomba 21). If that isn t prejudiced enough, Eugenics have even compared the lower races to the female of the human species, which is believed to be inferior to the stronger male races (Levine 55). These apparent male races came to be accepted as European whites . Therefore, racism and antisemitisms use of racial inferiority connects them as similar entities. I have even realized that there is a homogeneous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Free College Debate Analysis Throughout the 2016 presidential debate, the issue of free college has been a discussion between the democratic candidates. This is a very controversial topic. Senator Bernie Sanders plans on eliminating tuition fees at public colleges, and Hilary Clinton favors increasing student aid. Attending a university is a privilege which many are not able to afford. Many of my friends were not able to go to collegebecause of the hefty price tags that come along with higher education. Every year the tuition of attending a university grows significantly. Those who are not able to pay the fees, decided on another alternative which is to go straight to work after high school or enroll in the military. In theory, free college seems like a magnificent idea because people from both part of the spectrum would receive aid to attend the university. For millions of families, their children would be able to obtain a college degree and live a better financial life. However, this policy only applies to public schools. A ... Students will cut class more frequently, tests will not be important because at the end of day, if they fail a class, the money will not be coming out of their pockets. This would be the similar case for college students. Many students would forgo college to pursue another passion. If college is free, students will not value their education. If there is a free college, there will be an abundance of highly qualified individuals working at jobs that will not require a degree. If the job market is competitive as it is, imagine if everyone had a bachelor s degree? Now a days, even a bachelor s degree does not guarantee a job, therefore students are obtaining master and doctoral degrees. Many might argue that loans are detrimental for students. However I believe it is the complete opposite. With loans, students would strive to excel in their academics and will be eager to look for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Extreme Of The Mohave Dessert Extreme in the Mohave dessert Mohave dessert spread across Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and some part of the State of California and its climate reflects extremes of hot and cold. • 11. Summary Of The Idea Of Order At Key West Art has the power to enhance consciousness as well as alter the way in which one perceives the world around them. The process of which one experiences life from the means of their imagination intensifies their perspicacity of the external reality. This alteration becomes seamlessly natural, and goes unnoticed as emotions override the mind, and generates creativity. However, the dynamics of nature are questionable in relation to how it holds inspiration to one s creative expression. Artistic expression is essential in Wallace Steven s, The Idea of Order at Key West because it illustrates the relationship between mind and nature. Besides the theatrical distances and mountainous atmospheres , no emotion or meaning is taken from the dramatic setting, only the woman s voice. She was the single artificer of the world/In which she sang. And when she sang the sea,/Whatever self it had, became the self./That was her song, for she was the maker, (37 40). The power of art is truly displayed by not only changing the speaker s perception but also creating a world for which he envisions through his imagination. The concept of order can be taken into consideration solely to reflect that the singer is the one altering the speaker s perception of the nature. As sound was a vital implication, silence As the night descended and light mastered the night reveals the strong effect the song had on the speaker, as it still carried on even after the artificer stopped singing. The natural world remains the same, but the perceptibility changed and created more intensity. The relationship between imagination and realism holds truth that beyond one s experiences and sensibility has a role on how they will grasp meaning to their own world. • 12. Critical Analysis Of Ode To The West Wind By Percy Shelley Title:Ode to the West Wind Author : Percy Shelley I read this poem last week .It only took me about 15 miniutes. But I will take a long time to keep it in my mind forerver. Brief summary: The West Wind acts as a force for change and forward movement in the human and natural world. Shelley sees winter not just as the last season of vegetation but as the last phase of life. Shelley observes the changing of the weather from autumn to winter and its effects on the environment. Shelley is trying to show that a man s ideas can spread and live on beyond his lifetime by having the wind carry his dead thoughts which through destruction, will lead to a rebirth in the imagination, and in the natural world. Evaluation: It is worth to read over and over again. In Ode To The West Wind, shelly wants to show his desire for transcendence. Introduction Writing has existed as far back as the 7th millennium BC and the 4th millennium BC, it first started with mnemonic symbols which later became a system of ideograms. In the early days people wrote on different things, such as silk, rocks, wood, papyrus etc. It wasn t Until the 15th century were parchment or vellum (calfskin) were used as pages for the first books. A book can be said to be a set of written or printed made of ink and paper usually fastened together or coupled electronically (e books) for the purpose of storing or recording information. Collins and Cheek (1999) explained that reading involves a complex thought process in order to understand a writing or printed message. According to Rubin (2002), reading is a total integrative process that starts with the reader and includes the affective, perceptual, and cognitive domains. Okebukola (2004) affirms that,by reading books, humans have the tools to transmit knowledge from one generation to another; it allows one to listen to the wisdom of those who have lived in the past and so on. This even expressed by religious prophets. The Apostle Paul in the bible admonished Timothy study to show yourself approved unto God (11 timothy 2:15). • 16. Analysis Of Accidental Death Of An Anarchist In Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo, farce is prevalent throughout the play. Fo sought to recreate traditional farce and the comedic effect it creates. In Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Fo succeeded in creating Didactic Farce, combining comedic values of traditional farce with a rage of injustice. Fo believed farce to be the most effective way to provoke thought about Pinelli s death. Didactic farce portrays politics and events of the time in a comedic way. The combination of farcical elements such as Slapstick humor and Commedia Dell arte and the use of the alienation effect create a didactic play, underlying the corruption in Italy revolving around the death of Pinelli. Farce creates a humorous play where characters become involved involuntarily. Farcical elements include sight gags, physical comedy, and general absurdity. Critics often dislike farce as it is believed to be a low form of entertainment. The Maniac is primarily Fo s means of presenting farce in the play. At the start of the play, the Maniac is speaking with Bertozzo in his office about the different kinds of law when he exclaims, international law, jurisprudence, human rights legislation, common law, ecclesiastical law, the offside law, LA Law, mother in law (7). The Maniac begins by saying laws that the people would know. He then talks about the offside law which is a rule in soccer, LA Law which is an American show, and finally mother in law which is a family member. These allusions create humor the audience would recognize and build the Maniac s character as he uses farce to convey information. Later in the play, the journalist is about to arrive, and the Superintendent says she cannot see the judge. The Maniac quickly exclaims, I ll change character (55). He proceeds to change clothes, wearing a false mustache and a black eye patch. This is situational irony as the audience knows of the Maniac s ability to change character, while for those involved, this is the first time. At one time Captain Mandosa was in charge of massacres of natives and owned many slaves, but after he killed his brother out of jealousy for his brother s lover, he repented his sins by joining the priesthood and helping the mission attain their goals. These types of salary schedules only recognize years of service and amount of education to determine salary amounts for all certified staff. Each salary schedule has strengths and areas of improvement, and analysis of the salary schedule will highlight these areas. Salary schedules, including Hollister RV School District s, only require teachers to remain employed thorough the school year to earn a raise in pay for the next year, automatically moving to the next step on the salary schedule. Pay increases also are earned by moving to the next lane or column based on the hours of graduate credit completed toward an advanced degree, such as a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree. Hollister RV School District s certified staff s salary schedule discloses several areas of exceptionality, highlighting what is important to the District. However, there are also areas to be improved, including recruitment and retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). One exceptional characteristic of the salary schedule is that the vertical steps carry the same monetary value as the horizontal columns with the exception of completing a Master s degree or a Specialist degree. Countless rulers comprehended that the portrayal of power, in contemporary conditions what would be described as an image, is an embodiment of authority in itself. Cleverly, artists, artisans and intellectuals were employed as patrons on behalf of the ruling forms of government, manufacturing pieces that declared the validity of their power, fortified their supremacy, and intensified their stature. Often, the artistic urges of the artists behind the pieces were suppressed, conflicting personal impulse with the goals of ruling government. • 32. Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so the resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an affirmation of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the chances of individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a group of individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the interests of the largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the interests of the majority. And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority than the minority (duh), collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have their interests protected than not. Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of individual prosperity. However, this is not only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical examples of this holding true in practice as well. Just take a look at nature we can easily observe a large variety of species that instinctively live in large, interactive groups in which collective welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison, sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and many more fall into this category. I didn t really understand what Nietzsche was saying from the phrase God is dead . After talking with my classmates and doing some research I got a better understanding about the quote. Most people didn t understand it like me at first and they thought Nietzsche interpreted in a literal death or end of God. I think Nietzsche says this quote because he was an atheist and he had a different perspective about God which he never even believed in. Most people believe that God is all knowing and powerful so he or she can t die. The understanding I got from this quote is that I think Nietzsche is trying to say that is not relevant to people anymore meaning that people don t care. Friedrich Nietzscheis a well known philosopher who influenced many topics in the world and was not really a fan of religion. This quote is widely known by everyone and it is first shown in his 1882 collection The Gay Science . The phrase God is dead. God remains dead. Setting Clear Boundaries in the Social Work Field Setting Clear Boundaries In Social Work Many individuals opt for the field of social work so that others may grow and improve their way of life and have a stable living style. However, while providing this sort of help to the clients, it is important that social workers are aware of their ethical boundaries and have communicated this to their clients as well. Setting and maintain clear boundaries is a very important part of every profession. As far as social work is concerned where the worker directly influences the lives of his clients, this practice becomes more important as it has a direct impact on ones professional integrity. Where we see number of complaints filed against the social workers for breach of ethical boundaries, it is important to understand what these limitations are and how to adhere to them. In order to understand the concept of setting clear boundaries, let s have a look at what Dietz and Thompson said about it. As per them, The concern about appropriate boundaries is, at least in part, a concern about the effects of the power differential between client and professional. It is primarily a concern about boundary violations (Dietz and Thompson, 2004, p. 2). In addition to it, it is important to realize that boundaries provide us safer connections based on the needs of clients we are dealing with (Peterson, 1992, p. 74). The principal dynamic is their private, fragile discussion, and the second offers significance to their physical cooperation. Dropping the glove makes Edie uncertain of what she needs to do with her body. She pushes unknowingly and reluctantly through different choices, even as she keeps up a private discussion. Use a stirring rod to the substances were mixed together, and observations were made to see if the unknown dissolves. The use of a ionic solubilitychart was helpful when running this test. The next test that was conducted in this lab was the Anion/Cation Test. Within the Cation/Anion test the first experiment was done with the Ammonia Trial. Within this trial,1ml of 6M NaOH was needed along with 0.03g of the unknown compound, and 1ml of distilled H2O. The Ammonia Trial will have a chemical compound of NH4(X) + NaOH = NH3 + Na(X) + H2O, where X is the unknown anion. The first step of this trial was to mix the measured unknown with the H2O. Once the compound has dissolved, add the NaOH to the solution. By wafting over the solution determining if an ammonia smell is present, if so the unknown compound will contain ammonium. The trial was repeated three times and observations were recorded. The next Cation /Anion experiment that was conducted was the Halide Trial. This trial was conducted by taking 0.03g of unknown compound and creating a solution with 1ml of distilled H2O. Then, 1ml of 6M HNO3, and 1ml of 0.1M AgNO3 was added to the solution, and observations were made towards if a white precipitate was formed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Identification Of Good And Evil The Identification of Good and Evil A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed, and forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has been whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a philosopher (300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be directions that indicate our way to good. Throughout the life of a human being, factors contribute to build personalities, while also creating labels in the social environment. We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can tolerate. This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a personality, and therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label an individual as good or evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people interacts with others due to personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as they share a point of view. For example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by insecurity, negativity and vandalism, it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding of an individual is positive, it will create a way to good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and communicating attribute to the personality of an individual define if we are good or evil, but also ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people. Another factor that is essential while people talk about human beings born good or evil is the illiteracy and ignorance that people tend to have. There are abounding communities that live in poverty, and as a matter of fact, these communities are more feasible to have crimes regularly. Not only there are more crimes committed, but also several adults live in an illiterate state. This affects the communities, since the illiterate adults have little to no interest in education for their children. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to a Business Insider article, Driverless cars are designed to have almost a superhuman like ability to recognize the world around them. The way these cars work is by having cameras on all sides, so this ability is a reference to the cars getting all that information from the cameras at once. If this is what self driving cars could do in Phoenix, think about what they could do all over the rest of the world. Another reason we should have self driving cars is because they are better for the environment. In an article by Business Insider, Cadie Thompson says Because cars will be automated, there will be less chance of accidents caused by human error, leading to less traffic congestion. This would be good for the environment because less traffic means cars spend less time on the road. Some people get stuck in traffic for hours at a time, which means their car is producing a lot of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), and that is very bad for the environment. Less of these traffic jams would mean that cars would produce a lot less CO2. Imagine that you are driving to work and get stuck in a traffic jam. You could go through almost a whole tank of gas just waiting to get through it! But then, you get to the front just to realize that a bad driver ran into the median and totaled his car. You just released a lot of CO2 into the air because someone crashed their car. And you don t want to have to do that, do you? Bacon s Rebellion and Challenge Bacon s Rebellion and Challenge: Bacon s rebellion is a civil war that erupted between the English and the Indians in the Chesapeake whose main cause was land and labor. Since the English men were facing hunger, they decided to go out in search of greener pastures that included the search for new lands to do farming and later change it to cash. The farming itself involved looking a place that they would plant tobacco and as they were in this process, they came along some Indian communities who were already residing at their (English) border. That is when the conflict began whereby the Indian communities were beaten up and forced to flee from the area. This not only affected the Indians but also former servants who had worked with the colonialists and were part and parcel of the colonists as they ended up being landless. During this war, Bacon refused to send any troop that would assist in stopping the conflict leading to loss of lives and discrimination by the Indians. The Southerners were not needed by the government and even those who held top positions were ordered to be killed, removed forcefully from their positions, and sold into slavery. Since these individuals were under Bacon s power, they had no choice than to comply with the order. Early Romans wanted to create a lasting republic, a government in which citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. A republic is a government in which citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. Americans liked the roman form of government but also knew that eventually the Roman republic became a dictatorship, a government in which one person rules with all authority. The Framers wanted to avoid the Roman s fate. They wanted to create a permanent government where the informed citizens ran their own government. Another historic document the Founders looked to was the Magna Carta. In 1215, many of the landowning gentry of England rebelled against the unpopular King John. In order to help restore peace the rebels forced the king to sign the Magna Carta. It placed limits on the power of the English king and made Parliament the ruling body in England. In addition, we will use the past five years of financial statements to forecast the next three years of growth for the company. II.Economic Overview The economic climate in the U.S. today suggests a robust labor market despite sharply declining industrial output. In fact, many have speculated that the government is underestimating economic growth, as suggested by the growth in wholesale inventories. Set just before and during WWII, the main character, Guido falls in love with the woman of his dreams, they have a child but they get separated by the horrors of the war. Guido and his little son strive to get reunited with his wife but their internment in a Nazi concentration camp halts him from doing so. Nevertheless, he slyly keeps in contact with his wife so she knows they are safe and well. Roberto Benigni uses cinematic techniques such as music, costume and lighting to convey the strong theme of love between two characters in the film Life is Beautiful. In Life is Beautiful, the love between two people is a recurring theme. The music, composed by Italian light classical composer Nicola Piovani, is one of the major factors that helps successfully convey this theme to the audience. In the film, the same upbeat tune is used for many of the romantic scenes between Guido and Dora. This tune, in a more subtle tone, is the theme song for the film, and when it is repeated for the romantic themes it gives a powerful sense of love. For example, when Dora falls out of that farm house, and Guido catches her, the music is used for the first time in a romantic setting. This was obviously portrayed, because the students liked the activity they were participating in, so they voluntarily did it without any prize or reward at the end.
