This document describes different types of traditional and modern landscapes. Traditional landscapes include Mediterranean landscapes characterized by wheat, vine, olive and vegetable crops using terraced systems, oceanic landscapes featuring cereal crops and livestock grazing, and tropical and monsoon landscapes growing rice and cereals with populations living in stilt houses. Modern landscapes incorporate greenhouses growing vegetables and flowers commercially, desert agriculture using wells and irrigation for large crops, jungle crops like soy causing deforestation, and other agrarian and fishing landscapes involving extensive livestock and aquaculture.

-Vegetables and flowers
Characteristics:
-Created by commercial agriculture
-The South of Almería is called “sea of plastic”

Desert agriculture
Characteristics:
-Change from farmed livestock to large
crops, due to the use of wells and watering
systems.
Location : Arid or sem iarid areas (Israel,
Libya, Saudi Arabia)
