This document defines and provides examples of different types of energy. It discusses the main types as potential energy, which is stored energy, and kinetic energy, which is energy of motion. Some other types defined are mechanical energy from motion or position, electrical energy from electron movement, chemical energy from chemical reactions, thermal energy or heat, sound energy from wave movement, and electromagnetic energy from gamma rays to radio waves.
