• Tweet - your posts
• Retweet (RT) - when you repost something from
another person

thoughts

time

Terms
3
Tips
• Write a clear description of yourself in your Twitter bio,
include album pre-order/buy links
• Pin an important/informative tweet to the top of your
page (album pre-order/video premiere)
4
• Authentic content, content with links, retweets, photos, and
videos
• Engage your fans by replying to their questions and comments
• Unless you use a handle, the likelihood of that
person/brand/publication seeing your tweet is slim. Tagging
allows people to know when they have been mentioned and
flag a tweet they may want to retweet.
• Timing will depend on your audience, purpose, and objective.
It is best to tweet 3-5 times a day
• There is a reason for the 140 character limit
Do’s
Mix up your posts with an array of tweets
@ Reply
Tag other’s handles in tweets and replies
Plan your tweets and tweet often
Keep tweets short and sweet
5
• Excessive selling, self-promotions, and retweeting will clutter
people’s feed and turn them off from what you have to saying
• Twitter has its own voice and should not be linked with other
social networks.
• If something has a link make sure you include it within the post
• Hashtags can be a useful tool, but use them sparingly. Regularly
including three or more hashtags in your tweets means people
will probably start overlooking them, because they tend to look
like spam and are harder to read quickly.
Don’ts
Overdo it
