4. TURKEY
 Students of our school learnt about important
holidays celebrated in Turkey.
Each student searched for information
connected with Turkey and the holiday called
Ramadan.

5. RAMADAN
 Ramadan(tur. Ramazan) – it is a month of fast for
the Muslims.
 During the fast, adults don’t eat, drink or smoke
from the sunrise to the sunset. After Ramadan
they celebrate a holiday called Seker Bajram.

7. SEKER BAJRAM
 In exact translation - The sugar
holiday
 It lasts for first three days of the tenth month of the
year.
 During these days, people give sweets to children. Kids
go to the nearest houses and greet adults. In return
they receive candies

8. THE SUGAR HOLIDAY IN OUR SCHOOL
In this particular day students and
teachers could eat as much sweets as
it is possible.There were a lot of
candies, the most popular were
doughnuts.

9. THE SUGAR HOLIDAY IN OUR SCHOOL
The students and the
teachers prepared
sweet dishes. After that
we ate them together.

10. THE SUGAR HOLIDAY IN OUR SCHOOL
Everybody liked this day
and we are jealous that
our friends from Turkey
can celebrate this holiday
in such way every year.

11. BAKLAVA
During the Seker Bayram
holiday people visit their
families, especially the
old ones.It is a time
when Turkish should see
or at least phone their
relatives. They also ought
to give them sweet
Baklava(remember it has
got a lot of calories).

12. WISHES FOR THE OLDER PEOPLE
Our students had to
visit their
grandparents and
wish them all the
best.
It was a great time spent with our
families.

13.  We compared this custom with our Polish
Christmas or Easter. We also spend this time
with our families.
