The document provides information about upcoming events at KELC in June, including field trips to the library to see birds and giraffes, preschool graduation, and a community picnic. It reminds parents to send towels for swimming and lists closed days in 2016. It also notes opportunities for compassionate care at Kendal at Oberlin's assisted living and nursing facilities and shares that teachers are proud but sad to see graduating preschoolers leave in June after enjoying a field trip to Dunham's Tavern and planting a tree.
1. I hope that June brings us warmer weather as we are all looking forward to getting outside and exploring our campus. Thank
you to all who bought shirts for Noah! We raised $200 for Noah and t-shirts for Noah and his parents. To avoid over-
payment, please let us know if your child’s KELC schedule is changing this month.
Have a great start to summer, Jeni Hoover

A Note from Kendal at Oberlin:
Please consider if the older adults you know and love
might benefit from our compassionate care at Kendal at
Oberlin. We currently have open private rooms in our
Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living wings for short
term rehab and respite stays. We also have the
opportunity to provide several direct entry contracts in
Assisted Living, including two life-care contracts. We
would be delighted if you would help “get the word
out” about these wonderful opportunities!
Kendal Intergenerational News:
This month we are going to have our Kendal
Community Picnic on Wednesday, June 15th
. We
will eat with the kids at 11:30am and invite you to
come and join us if your schedule allows.
2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
May certainly flew by for us here at Kendal. The children really enjoyed the trip to Dunham’s Tavern. It was interesting to see
how people cooked back in the old days compared to now. The children really got a kick out of the “kick” toaster! It made
them laugh that people had to kick the toaster to toast the other side of the bread. We also planted a tree here at Kendal as part
of the John Bartram Arboretum opening. The children participated by reading The Lorax, reciting fun tree facts, and finally
planting the tree.
June is here and we are sad to say goodbye to so many future Kindergarteners! We have 17 children graduating from Kendal on
June 9. It is always a bittersweet moment for us teachers. We are so proud of all our children and know they will do really
well, but we are sad to see them go and will miss them all.
Lots of love! Mary, Sara, Karen, Macie, Robin
