Truancy Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of truancy can be quite challenging. Firstly, it requires extensive
research to gather relevant information on the causes, effects, and potential solutions to truancy.
This may involve delving into various academic journals, government reports, and educational
studies to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
Next, crafting a coherent and persuasive argument demands critical thinking skills and the ability
to analyze complex issues surrounding truancy, such as its socio-economic implications,
psychological factors, and educational policies. It's essential to present balanced viewpoints
while also advocating for specific interventions or strategies to address the problem effectively.
Moreover, conveying empathy and understanding towards the individuals affected by truancy,
including students, families, and educators, adds another layer of complexity to the writing
process. Balancing statistical data with real-life anecdotes or case studies can help humanize the
issue and resonate with the audience on a deeper level.
Additionally, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay is crucial to ensure that the
message is effectively communicated to the reader. This involves organizing the content
logically, providing sufficient evidence to support arguments, and using language that is
accessible yet engaging.
Overall, writing a compelling essay on truancy requires a blend of research skills, critical
thinking, empathy, and effective communication. It's a task that demands careful planning,
thoughtful analysis, and attention to detail to produce a piece of writing that is both informative
and impactful.

Religion in Hamlet Essay
The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is one of the most famous tragedies
William Shakespeare has ever written. Found throughout Shakespeare s tragedy are
many religious references. According to Peter Milward, the author of Shakespeare s
Christianity: The Protestant and Catholic Poetics of Julius Caesar, Macbeth, and
Hamlet, From a purely religious point of view, which is more than just biblical,
Hamlet is rich in homiletic material of all kinds, reflecting almost every aspect of
the religious situation in a deeply religious age (Milward 9). These pieces of
religious literature are crucial to the plot of Hamlet. The religious elements found in
this tragedy provide the plot, allusions, and foreshadowing. One of the very first...

In addition to the idea of purgatory, there is an allusion to the Garden of Eden in
Hamlet. During Hamlet s first soliloquy he says Denmark, tis an unweeded garden
(Shakespeare 1.2.135). The audience probably would not think anything of this;
however, once the play gets to scene five of act one it brings into question what
garden Hamlet and the Ghost are talking about. In this scene the Ghost is telling
Hamlet how King Claudius killed him. The Ghost says, sleeping in my orchard,
/ A serpent stung me (Shakespeare 1.5.35 36). According to Michael Ferber, the
author of A Dictionary of Literary Symbols, a serpent can symbolize the devil, and
an orchard is also known as a garden (Ferber 186, 83). Knowing these two pieces of
information found in Hamlet the audience is now able to infer that the garden
being alluded to is the Garden of Eden. According to the New Living Translation
Bible, the Garden of Eden is considered the fall of man. This is where Eve was
convinced by the Devil to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve
then convinced Adam to eat from the tree, which was considered the first sin (Gen.
2 3). Shakespeare was wise in choosing this biblical allusion because at this point of
the tragedy the audience learns about the first sin of King Claudius. If Shakespeare
had not used this biblical allusion in Hamlet the audience would have lost the
importance of this being the first sin
Essay on Impact of World War One on American Literature
The Impact of World War One on American Literature
As people mature, their beliefs evolve; as a child it is easy to be guided by adults,
to believe in adults. As adults, people have their own beliefs. It is the period in the
middle that is the hardest. As children begin to grow, they begin to push limits and
question authority. The modernist period in American literature is comparable to
those teenage years. In the early stages of American literature, America looked to her
mother England for guidance. The very traditional literature that resulted had a strong
emphasis on religion, family, and country. In early literature it was scandalous to
question God; the family was only to be portrayed as a supportive, loving
community; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The young man, George Gearson, is unsure about enlisting, for he is more of an
intellectual type than he is a soldier looking for a fight. George s fiancГ©e is
Editha, who in her innocent ignorance cannot see why George even has to question
enlisting. Editha sees war as a chance for George to be a hero and thereby become
worthy of her and her love. She threatens to break their engagement because of
George s reluctance to serve his country. She writes George a letter telling him, There
is no greater honor above America with me. In this great hour there is no other honor
(365). These sentiments sound ridiculous, but it is actually an accurate depiction of
the state of mind of many young Americans in this era. Going to war for America
was believed to be their duty, and it was an honor to do their duty.
When America called on her young men once again to go to Europe and fight in the
trenches of World WarI, they went. America s decision to join a war on foreign soil
that was already in progress was highly questionable. Many people attributed
America s involvement in the war with the sinking of the passenger liner Lusitania,
but even more attributed the decision to economic reasons, like Senator George
Norris, who said, We are going to war upon the command of Gold (931). American
soldiers and sailors did not know why
The Battle Of Gettysburg By Bruce Caton
The Battle of Gettysburg took place on July 1st 3rd, 1863 (Gettysburg: heading).
The battle occurred in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania which is
located in Adams County. Gettysburg is located in a very rocky area and has a lot
of hills. It is a market town and its population is made up of mostly farmers (The
Battle of Gettysburg1863: Page 5: Paragraph 2: Line 1). This battle was part of the
civil war and is known as the turning point of this war. Gettysburg is also known as
one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in America ( The Battle of Gettysburg by
Bruce Caton: Introduction: Paragraph 2: Line 1). A large cause of the civil war
was the difference of opinion on whether slavery should be abolished in the United
States. The southern states relied on slave labor to make money. The north did not
need slavery as much as the south did because it was more industrialized. The
fighting took place between the Union and Confederate armies. The northerners
were the Union and the southerners were the Confederates. This war altered the
nation as a whole because both sides were from the United States. The country was
fighting with itself. The battle of Gettysburg played a very large role in the war.
Many would argue that this was not the most important battle of the civil war, but
others would say that it affected the outcome of the war in a very large way. The
Battle of Gettysburg was a major battle in the civil war between the Union and
Confederate armies.

Sharia Law In The United States
Religion is a belief, interest, pursuit or worship in a being or a superhuman
controlling power, such as a personal God or gods. Although, every religion has its
own set of rules and laws in which the believers follow. The first amendment of the
U.S. Constitution protects the religious rights as it declares that the government
cannot infringe upon laws pertaining to the freedom of religion, speech, press, and
peaceful assembly of the people . This grants freedom for Muslims, Jews,
Christians, Buddhas and etc to freely practice his or her preferred religion under
their own terms in America. Being said, Islamic groups have all rights to exercise
their religion. However, putting another law, such as Sharia Law, above the law of
the supreme land is deemed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Islamic people follow the Sharia Law, which is a range of rules which governs
their lives, including finance, religion, daily living, and even violence . The issue
with the Sharia Law is that it is based off of religion, whereas the American
government does not. However, not every Islamic individual interprets the law in the
same way. In many western communities, Muslims who want their religious concepts
to be recognized must obtain a state license and the concepts must strictly conform to
the state requirements. Even though, there are only a few who actually get their
license. Even still, there are usually no more than a few hundred Muslims residing in
the same community that performs their religious duties. The Religious Freedom
Restoration Act, a recent bill passed in states such as Indiana, Arizona and West
Virginia, extended the religious freedoms of individuals who are involved in
litigation with the state or each other. As more states ratified the bill, rumors spread
that it granted outsider laws the privilege in America. In order for an entire
community to be ruled under another law, it must be executed in the law of the
constitution and the American government can not legally approve
To What Extent Should Puerto Rico Become A State
Why Puerto Rico Should Become a State Did you know that for so many years,
Puerto Rico has been a territory for the United State? Since 1898, that is when
Puerto Rico became a territory for the US. Puerto Rico was fully protected and
supported by the U.S government, but this does not meant that they have all the same
rights as the Americans, for example things like the right to vote. However they can
still fight in the military and own a land in the United Statesof America. I don t see
any reasons why Puerto Ricoshould not become a state. Puerto Rico should become a
state because it offers more opportunities for Puerto Ricans, allows for open trades,

Puerto Rico a state for the United State, but only one key element that people
should keep in mind is that the majority of Puerto Ricans support statehood at all.
Some people think that it is a bad idea for PR to become a state for the US because
it might increase poverty and crime state in the US, culture loss, and it might cause
some kind of resentment. Puerto has already been under the United State for so long,
so why not just make it an official

Kolb s Experiential Learning Model
KOLB EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL
David Kolb is an American educational theorist whose main work was on
experiential learning. He published his learning styles model in 1984, which was
later used by him to develop the Experiential Learning Style Inventory.
Kolb s model works on two levels. Level one consists of the four stage cycle of
learning, and level two consists of four separate learning styles.
As per Kolb, new concepts of learning in children developed when they had new
experiences.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING CYCLE
Kolb s experiential learning cycle is based on four basic points. According to him,
all learners go through these stages in their learning process. The basic points are
given in the table below Figure 1 Kolb Experiential Learning Cycle

The emphasis that a person places on a particular learning style preference ultimately
shows his learning style. The knowledge of a person s learning style enables it to be

able to look at situations from different viewpoints. They are sensitive to their
surroundings, and prefer to learn by watching rather than doing stuff. They believe in
gathering the required information and using their imagination to solve problems.
They are best at looking at all situations objectively. Kolb called this style Diverging
because these people perform better in situations that require idea generation, for
example, brainstorming. They prefer gathering information and have varied interests.
These learners have a strong interest in people, tend to be artistic and sensitive, and
have a natural preference for the arts. They prefer to work in groups, to listen with an

Essay on animals in romantic poetry
animals in romantic poetry
Many Romantic poets expressed a fascination with nature in their works. Even more
specific than just nature, many poets, such as William Blake, Robert Burns, and
Samuel Taylor Coleridge all seemed fascinated with animals. Animals are used as
symbols throughout poetry, and are also used to give the reader something to which
they can relate. No matter what the purpose, however, animals played a major part in
Romantic Poetry.
William Blake used animals as basic building blocks for poems such as The Lamb
and The Tyger. By using these carefully selected animals to depict good and evil, the
reader truly understands Blake s words. All readers can relate to animals such as an

The sight of this louse surprises the narrator, and eventually leads him to the
realization that humans see themselves as perfect, judging all others. Through this
louse he realizes what a power it would be to see ourselves as other see us (43) and
what fools we are, pretending to be God like (46 48). Burns uses animals in his
poetry as a way of looking back at man, and seeing through another perspective.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge based his narrative poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,
around the sanctity of nature, especially that of the albatross, a large sea bird who
was a sign of good luck to the sailors aboard the mariner s ship. After the ancient
mariner inhospitably kills their good omen, everything starts to fall apart. The
mariner eventually is trapped in a solitary, never ending penance, telling certain
people his story. The people he tells however, do not appreciate the story because it
points out their lack of spirituality, especially in the case of the wedding guest.
Coleridge, like Blake in The Lamb, relates animals and nature to Godliness.
In conclusion, many Romantic poets showed a fascination with nature, and especially
with animals. They used animals as symbols for many things, or for another way of
viewing the world, but no matter what the use, animals played a major part in the
works of Romantic poets. Bibliography:

Music Essay On Music And The Power Of Music
Song Essay The power of music is as strong today as it has ever been before.
Throughout history music has been a way for our people to speak out against the
government or follow their commands. There is a great irony that a lot of these
songs nowadays all tie together to portray the same message, and this is not a
coincidence. Today, hip hop has taken the lead in protesting police brutality and
the injustices suffered by the poor. Within the selection of songs, the audience can
see how the government tries to control us, as well as how there is still much
racism going on today. Joey s song, Temptations, explores the issue of racial
equality and the struggle of being black in America. Growing up in a poor
neighborhood not having your rent on time because your mom works a nine to

Badmon describes how young men are killing one another, and figure that is the
way to go about things because of culture but fail to really see what they are doing
as well as who they are hurting. He also mentions how people make an example out
of killing someone rather than spreading positivity and leaves you with the question
of are you willing to make the sacrifice, to make a
Compare And Contrast How To Date A Brown Girl
Stereotypes and Expectations
How to date a brown girl (black girl, white girl, or halfie) and Girl are both an
extreme representation of what life was and sometimes still is for many women.
They re both based on a standardized conception of how women should act towards
society. Even though these two stories have similar messages, the points of view
from where each story is told are different. How to date a brown girl is narrated by a
teenager who believes is experienced with girls from all types of ethnicities. Girl
seems to be a story of a mother trying to help her daughter by telling her how she s
supposed to behave. Besides the confident, self assured tones in both narrators, the
expectations that society places on women are the true similarities shared between
these two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in the same way these stories are assimilated to each other, they also
have their differences. These two stories differ in the perspective from where each
story is told. One side tries to enforce rules and create barriers, whereas the other
side is the reaction to the results of these rules and barriers, which later lead
towards expectations of certain behaviors. The mother in Girl speaks as if she has
been accustomed to living this way all her life and, according to her, its how her
daughter should live also. Each family has different rules depending on their
ethnicity. Most parents raise their daughters with the rules their own parents made
them believe in, which in the end just creates stereotypes for others to use. In How
to date a brown girl , the teenage boy uses this all through the story by speaking in a
self assured and experienced way, as if he knows these girls because of the existing
stereotypes. While one story encourages a specific behavior on a girl, the other story
takes advantage of this repeatedly seen behavior in order to get what he wants from

Abstract perceivers, however, take in information through analysis, observation, and

2.Active and reflective processors Active processors make sense of an experience by
immediately using the new information. Reflective processors make sense of an
experience by reflecting on and thinking about it.
Schooling generally focuses on active and reflective processors however concrete
and abstract perceivers are becoming more and more catered for.
Learning styles theories impact education through the curriculum, instruction and
assessment. The curriculum must place emphasis on intuition, feeling, sensing, and
imagination, in addition to the traditional skills of analysis, reason, and sequential
problem solving. In the instruction, teachers should design their instruction methods
to connect with all four learning styles, using various combinations of experience,
reflection, conceptualization, and experimentation. Finally, in assessment teachers
should employ a variety of assessment techniques, focusing on the development of
whole brain capacity and each of the different learning styles

Research Paper On Quebec Sovereignty
Quebec sovereignty movement
The Quebec sovereignty movement is considered a political movement as well as
an ideology of values, ideas and thoughts that supporter s sovereignty for the
Canadian province of Quebec. Canada is similar to the United States was
established as a colonial settler state by European colonial powers. France and
England fought over the land for many years and in 1759 the British finally won in

Airports Continue to See Major Changes in Security Due

Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, airport security has received
considerable attention from the government as well expect in the aviation industry.
The damages that transpired following the attack have remained fresh in the minds
of peace loving citizens. In fact, security has become everybody s business because a
securitylapse in the aviation industry paralyzes various sector of the economy. Today,
the government has encouraged redesigning of the airport with much consideration
given to security. The new concerns in the wake of 9/11 terrorist attack propose

Facility Placement
I). Airport maintenance facilities
The airport maintenance facilities contain hangar areas and involve public access as
well as supply of deliverables. Since these facilities are accessible to the public,
airport operator should coordinate security of these facilities to limit the chances of
any possible threat. Moreover, the products delivered through these facilities might
contain materials that might be useful in planting a security assault.
II). Aircraft movement area
By definition, aircraft movement encompasses areas such as runways, aircraft ramps,
and taxiways. These movement areas are completely airside and require specific
security measures as provided for by the law in addition to adhering to Federal
Aviation Regulations. The accessibility of the aircraft movement area by public or
individuals conducting specific duties makes such areas prone to security needs.
Largely, the airport operator might not assume that the intentions of persons
accessing these areas are not potential threat to the airport security.
III). Air rescue and fire fighting facilities
The air rescue and fire fighting facilities are critical to airport operation. While there
is need for preparedness in handling accidental fire or conducting air rescue just
incase incidences of similar nature occur, these facilities require adequate security
concerns. Moreover, the positioning of these facilities makes them potential for
security vulnerabilities. At times, the public
What Age Should I Freeze My Eggs

What Age Should I Freeze My Eggs?
The short answer is the earlier the better. Studies show that banking eggs at an
younger age increases the likelihood of having a successful birth after. However,
these studies also show that women who bank their eggs earlier are less likely to use
them, because they have more time to conceive naturally. Keep in mind, these
findings don t apply if you re freezing your eggs due to health issues that impact your
fertility directly.
So, what s the recommended age for egg freezing if you don t have any health threats?
It turns out there are two major age related factors that can help answer this question:
egg quantity and quality. For the best egg freezing results, you need to know at what

Tolga Mesen found in his research that the highest probability of live birth 74%
occurred when eggs were frozen before 34 years of age. However, most doctors say
that freezing your eggs before the age of 37 is fine. This recommended age is when
the quality and quantity of a woman s egg is still suitable for egg freezing.
What if I m older than 37 years?
Good news: Women still conceive naturally at this age.
The CDC reports that nearly 120,000 women in their 40s give a birth every year in
the United States, with only 9% of these births resulting from IVF.
However, at some point in their 40s, women experience Diminished Ovarian
Reserve. This means that women no longer have healthy eggs to fertilize naturally or
retrieve for preservation. The condition may occur at younger age due to disease or
injury, but it most commonly occurs as a result of the normal aging process.
Dr. Dominic Stoop suggests the ideal age for the egg freezing is 31 35. However,
although eggs from women in 36 40 years will result in fewer pregnancies because of
lower egg quality, he adds that these women may still benefit given the accelerated
age related decline in fertility after the age of 40 years . In other words, if you re 36
or older and you re not trying to conceive right now, you re more likely achieve
pregnancy success later if you freeze your eggs
Machu Picchu Discovery
The Machu Picchu is a breathtaking sight. One has to climb 2,500 meters up the
Andes mountains to visit it. Down below are forests and dense bushes that hide it
from view. Nestled between two peaks, the Machu Picchu complex was built
between 1460 and 1470 AD. Comprising 200 buildings, mostly residences, temples
and storage structures, it was a royal and religious estate serving the first great Incan
Emperor Pachacuti. Today these structures remain as solid as when they were first
constructed, although smallpox ravaged the Incan communities in the 16th century
and by 1527, half of the population had been wiped out. When the Spanish
conquerors came in 1532, Machu Picchu was abandoned. The re discovery of Machu

My Senior Season Of High School Track

stepped into the blocks, I tried to drown everything out while waiting for the starter s

Runners to your mark. Get set. Bang!
My senior season of high school track was supposed to be the year I would win
state in the 100 meter dash. It was expected of me by others, and I was requiring it
of myself. At the time, I thought it was my destiny to become a state champion.
Little did I know, my destiny was actually to fail, and through that failure would
come one of my most memorable life lessons. Track and field is an individual sport.

My coach, a very energetic person, told me the same thing all season long. You
may not be fast enough to win state now, but just wait until your senior year! Little
did I know, he was absolutely right. Once my senior season rolled around, I was
zoned in. The first three years of high school were full of hard work and
perseverance, and the time had finally come to make it happen. Between the 100
and 200 meter dashes, I had won every single race leading up to state, with the
exception of one second place finish in the 200 meter dash. Every night, I laid
awake in bed thinking of the state meet. Every detail was thoroughly planned out
in my head. The key to winning in the sprints is getting a good start out of the
blocks. I was going to explode out so hard that people were gonna think I had jet
fuel in my shoes. In sprinting, a good start will set a runner up in a position to run
as smooth as possible. My start was going to carry me to that perfect position, and
I was going to glide across that finish line faster than anyone in the state. As the
season progressed, I had won conference and districts, and I was expected to win
state. Leaving home, I still had no idea how much the next two days were going to
change my life. The destination for state track is always at Omaha Burke High
School, which is about a one hour drive from my hometown. The

Battle Of Agincourt Analysis
The Battle of Agincourt in 1415 is one of the most famous battles in history. Made
popular by Shakespeare s play Henry V, many people have forgotten or are
unaware of the true details of the actual battle. Myriad details have never been
satisfyingly resolved. One of the controversies involves the fact that Henry V
ordered the deaths of the French prisoners that he had gained during the battle.
According to most historians, Henry commanded his soldiers to kill the prisoners
after the battle was already won, though he may or may not have realized it at the
time. In regard to this fact, researchers have called Henry everything from a clever
strategian to a cruel tyrant. There are a few eyewitness accounts, called chronicles, but

Shakespeare introduces the notion that Henry commissioned his invasion of
France upon the instability of his position on the throne as his main focus, as well
as his claim to the French throne. Therefore, his determination was authentic,
possibly making him resolve to win at all costs as he faced the French army that
reputably was much larger than his own. According to Shakespeare s tale, the
killing of the prisoners during the battle of Agincourt seems to have been induced
by a sudden panic on the part of Henry V when he heard a sudden commotion and
realized that his army was being attacked from behind, just as his victory seemed
assured. While this latter concept corresponds fairly well with the original accounts,
Shakespeare s rendition of the event must be handled with caution as historical
fiction, not historical fact. Additionally, in the play, immediately before this
happens, he hears a vivid account of how one of his relatives died in the battle, and
his grief may have played a part in the suddenness of the order (Shakespeare, 1599,
Henry V, Act IV, Scene VI) Five accounts currently exist that have survived from the
time of the battle in which the

Essay Totalitarian Agriculture
Totalitarian Agriculture The idea of Totalitarian Agriculture is scary. Especially
considering the fact that it is the exact type of agriculture that is being used in
every civilization except for the remaining tribal peoples of the world. I will try to
define Totalitarian Agriculture here: According to an ethics, followed by every sort
of creature within the community of life, sharks as well as sheep, killer bees as
well as butterflies, you may compete to the full extent of your capabilities, but you
may not hunt down your competitors or destroy their food or deny them access to
food. In other words, you may compete, but you may not wage war. This ethics is

Why totalitarian agriculture? You got me. It is really hard to knock Totalitarian
Agriculture since it is the foundation of our culture and the sustenance of our lives.
If Totalitarian Agriculture were to disappear tomorrow, then our culture would be
obliterated by starvation. This is not so for the remaining tribal peoples of the
world. They are fully well capable of surviving on their own just the same as humans
have been since there were humans. Thinking about this further made me think about
the reasons for adopting this practice. Our culture practices working to grow and
produce food, locking it up, and then forcing people to pay to get it. before the
agricultural revolution 10,000 years ago, humans had been living successfully as
hunter gatherers for a hundred thousand years, so asked myself what was the reason
for this sudden mind change to the practice of Totalitarian Agriculture? One answer is
due to the vast amounts of food surpluses that are created with totalitarian agriculture.
This is part of the answer to the next reason for totalitarian agriculture, which is
power and expansion. The founders of totalitarian agriculture thought that their way
to live was the one right way for all humans to live. These vast surpluses of food
enabled this culture to expand into surrounding territories near the Tigris and
Euphrates rivers, and use force to take the land from tribal peoples. So now, the first
generations of our culture putting

4.1 Earning per Share Ratio
A graph below represents Earning per Share ratio. EPS ratio is used when the
company wants to know how are they doing in their businesses from year to year.
EPS is shown in pence. (Dyson, 2010) A year 2009 was not so profitable for
company as EPS was 2,79p. This means that business was making little money,
which was not good for shareholders. However, in 2010 the EPS was quite high,
14,76p, what means the company is making profit and shareholders want to invest in
business.
4.2 Quick Ratio
The Quick Ratio also known as Acid Ratio is used by firms to determine liquidity
position. It explains if the firm is able to pay all of their current debt liabilities.
(Dyson, 2010) The graph above illustrates that over the period from 2007 to 2011
quick ratio was not more that 1, which means that their debts might not be covered
all. The graph also indicates that a peak was in 2011.

Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart
Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how
mathematicians came about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by
geometry as someone today might think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by
algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from the early Egyptians and
Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the impossibility to
solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one
step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way.
Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to
the Babylonians, solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any
clue about how the Babylonians came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came
across is geometrically. Stewart shows how Euclid s Elements of Geometry
introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in Elements in
Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a
compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect
and angle though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7
gon. It was Euclid s Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further
and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as squaring the circle with only a
compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led mathematicians to
change the way that they
Australian Curriculum Analysis
Creative Arts in the Primary Classroom
The review of the Australian Curriculum, undertaken by Kevin Donnelly and Ken
Wiltshire recommended that students in Prep to Year 2 should focus on English,
Math, History and Science and the arts content of the curriculum should be reduced.
This means that the core content of the arts curriculum of music, visual arts, drama,
dance and media arts would be not introduced until Year 3. (http://www.abc.net.au

There is evidence for both sides of the reduction of creative arts for the Australian

reduction of the arts. Arts education provides students with valuable opportunities to

The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

My favorite character in this book would have to be Peter. He was a little bit of a
tough guy yet timid, but wasn t afraid to fight for his siblings lives. Peter was the
oldest amongst his brother and two sisters and was most likely the brains and brawn
of the bunch. In this story, Peter has to fight off a wolf to test his courage or, in Aslan
s words, win his spurs. He returns victorious and is knighted by the lion called
Aslan. His brother Edmund, a very mischievous boy and a bother to his sisters Lucy
and Susan, looks up to Him though he never admits to it. Peter was definitely the

FRAMEWORK OF ANTI MONEY LAUNDERING AND COMBATING OF
FINANCIAL TERRORISM IN THE ECOWAS REGION
By
Oladeji Ifeoluwa TemiloluпЂЄ
1.0Introduction
Money laundering as a form of cross border crime involves the use of legal tender
in a financial transaction in order to conceal the origin, source or destination of such
legal tender derived through illegal means. The sole aim of every money launderer
is to misrepresent to any law enforcement authority or agency that the source of the
funds are clean. As such it would be a difficult task for any enforcement authority to
trace the source of the funds and by so doing the money launderers are able to escape
prosecution or conviction.
The term money laundering has its origin grounded in the Mafia ... Show more

2.0 CONCEPTUAL CLASSIFICATION
The porosity of the borders of most ECOWAS countries has led to the mammoth rise
in the rate of cross border crimes, ranging from drug trafficking, human trafficking,
tax evasion to money laundering. This rise has not only expanded, but has multiplied
these crimes to a more sophisticated type with a crippling effect on the local economy
and international relations of these countries.
These increase can be linked to the ready ease with which humans and goods could
travel between these ECOWAS countries, whilst the developments in technology has
further facilitated the transfer of the proceeds from such criminal activities in ways
hitherto unknown, this led to the swift rate at which money laundering amongst these
countries developed5. Other economic and financial crimes, for example, drug
trafficking and human trafficking also grew in limps and bounds, thus contributing to
the growth in the incidence of money laundering and financial terrorism.
By reason of the fact that the global agenda to curb financial crimes calls for
cooperative approach among countries in addressing these challenges, introducing a
number of international legislations on money laundering and financial terrorism
became a necessity. The treaties includes; the United Nation s Convention against the
Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 1988, the International
Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism
Enlightenment According To Kant And The Enlightenment
nlightenment according to Kant (1784) is : man s emergence from his self imposed
nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one s own understanding without another s
guidance. This nonage is self imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding
but in indecision and lack of courage to use one s own mind without another s
guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) Have the courage to use your own
understanding, is therefore the motto of the enlightenment. (kant, 1784)
The age enlightenment was a move away from Christian period, an era where religion
did not only govern the dominant belief system, but also governed the way of life.
Due to internal weaknesses in Christianity, after it had become an institutionalised
religion, the world once again was going into dark ages. Thus the Enlightenment is
literally, a way out of the dark .
The Enlightenment was an era in history in which all aspects of life, including
culture, intellect etc, were based primarily on reason. The most vital thought of the
Enlightenment was the belief in individuals rationality, that all individuals can think

The Government Of The People
Democracy is, and will always be, as one of America s past presidents Abraham
Lincoln stated in his Gettysburg Address, government of the people, by the
people, and for the people. The exact definition for democracy is a system of
government by the whole population of a state, typically through elected members.
The original idea of democracy that America s Founding Fathers promoted has
shifted throughout the years. America was founded on the principles of freedom
and liberty and many of these freedoms and liberties are being stripped away, or are
at risk of being stripped away, by the American government. America is no longer a
democracy, but it is an oligarchy. America is considered an oligarchy because of one
reason, and that reason is that power lies in the hand of the elite wealthy. The
majority of the population in America belongs to the middle class. The preferences of
most American citizens have little impact on government. Instead, the responsiveness
of government is strongly tilted towards the most affluent citizens . Those who reap
the benefits are the ones creating policies. As U.S. supreme court justice, Louis
Brandeis, stated, America can have democracy or it can have great wealth
concentrated in the hands of a few, but it cannot have both. Oligarchy and democracy
cannot coexist. It is true to say that since the founding of America, freedoms and
rights of all who have inhabited this land have greatly increased. However, in recent
years, these rights have

Plastic Bags Do Not Biodegrades
By going to a website called, postconsumer.com, I found out that, Plastic bags don t
biodegrade, they photodegrade breaking down into smaller and smaller toxic bits
contaminating soil and waterways. They then enter the food web when animals
accidentally ingest them, ( admin, para.8 ). In case you didn t know, the meaning of
biodegrade is to decay and to become absorbed by the environment, while
photodegrade is to be decomposed by the action of light, especially sun light.

That we don t have to worry if we lose any of them. Sure it makes our lives easier,
but we need to stop thinking of ourselves and start looking for ways we could use

before they photodegrade. Our planet is becoming increasingly contaminated by
our unnecessary use of plastic bags, ( Sharon Jacobsen, para.4). Sharon Jacobsen is
explaining in this quote that plastic bags are, basically, unnecessary. For another
example, Big black bin liners, plastic carrier bags carrying advertising logos, clear
sandwich bags and a variety of other forms are all polluting our environment. They
re lightweight, handy and easily discarded. Too easily discarded, ( Sharon
Jacobsen, para.5). By saying this, she meant since plastic bags are easy to get rid of,
this is how problems are created, problems such as landfills and destroying marine
life. What we need to start improving is to not think about our selves entirely and
discuss what should do to help the things around

them. Then lower the price of it, demanded Marie. She s onto something. Follow her

Two years is a short time, yet these past two years have somehow seemed longer
than past decades. The history of monarchs is mainly the history of delusional
people. We must not let them destroy our businesses. They will either be the french
power or they will not and we must make sure they are not. Together we serve
France and together we must protect our businesses! United we stand and together
we ll conquer! yelled the bakers. As we march to versailles, we must remember
that death is a solution to all problems. No monarchy no problems! exclaimed
Leonardo. After five hours of marching, the group of five thousand arrived at the
king s palace in Versailles. As they crowd stormed the castle, the noise they created
woke the king and queen. They tried to flee the palace, however they were too
slow and the mob caught them. They were put in carts and taken back to Paris. As
they were being hauled off to Paris, Marie noticed that the health initiative had
worked wonders. The people on the streets of Paris were looking much better than
they had months before, however the thought of her possibly of dying overwhelmed
her and she couldn t stop thinking about it. Two days later the men threw Marie in
an open cart with bars on it and rode her to her execution. The citizens of Paris
watched as their hated, then beloved, and then again hated queen was being sent to her

Free radical components have a relevant pathophysiological role in several types of
autoimmune human diseases such as heart failure, shock, atherosclerosis, etc[27]. It
is essential to counteract this oxidative stress and thereby enhance immunity of body
system. The immunomodulatory agents are being used as adjuvant therapy in
oxidative stress induced various diseases or vice versa. A very few modern medicines
are available to treat the oxidative stress and immunesenescence; which are costly and
posses serious side effect. On the contrary, the natural antioxidants are safer choice in
the treatment of oxidative stress and immunesenescence. Immunological agents of
plant origin enhance the immune responsiveness of an organism against a pathogen
by non specifically activating the immune system. Natural antioxidants can act as
potential therapeutic agents against many diseases resulting from oxidative stress.
Nowadays there has been increasing interest in the investigation of medicinal plants
for the discovery of new antimicrobial, immunomodulatory and antioxidant agents[28].
In this study, in vitro antioxidant and anti inflammatory activity of different extracts
of Juniperus squamata were tested for their antioxidant activity using DPPH,H2O2,
OH and lipid peroxidation. Immunomodulatory activity was determined by Carbon

When sending a message, business communication technology has its advantages in
the time it takes to send a message. For instance, it can be beneficial to an
organization that does business with customers and clients in globally. Messages can
be sent and received instantaneously instead of waiting days for documents to be
received across the globe; business can exchange files in a matter of moments over
the Internet (Henderson, 2014). Another advantage is the communicator can send a
message in the form of online video chats and conferences, with either with one
individual or with a number of people. No matter the message, it has two primary

Truancy Essay. Descriptive Essay on Preventing truancy - StudyRankers Test

  • 1. Truancy Essay Writing an essay on the topic of truancy can be quite challenging. Firstly, it requires extensive research to gather relevant information on the causes, effects, and potential solutions to truancy. This may involve delving into various academic journals, government reports, and educational studies to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Next, crafting a coherent and persuasive argument demands critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze complex issues surrounding truancy, such as its socio-economic implications, psychological factors, and educational policies. It's essential to present balanced viewpoints while also advocating for specific interventions or strategies to address the problem effectively. Moreover, conveying empathy and understanding towards the individuals affected by truancy, including students, families, and educators, adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Balancing statistical data with real-life anecdotes or case studies can help humanize the issue and resonate with the audience on a deeper level. Additionally, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay is crucial to ensure that the message is effectively communicated to the reader. This involves organizing the content logically, providing sufficient evidence to support arguments, and using language that is accessible yet engaging. Overall, writing a compelling essay on truancy requires a blend of research skills, critical thinking, empathy, and effective communication. It's a task that demands careful planning, thoughtful analysis, and attention to detail to produce a piece of writing that is both informative and impactful. • 2. Religion in Hamlet Essay The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is one of the most famous tragedies William Shakespeare has ever written. Found throughout Shakespeare s tragedy are many religious references. According to Peter Milward, the author of Shakespeare s Christianity: The Protestant and Catholic Poetics of Julius Caesar, Macbeth, and Hamlet, From a purely religious point of view, which is more than just biblical, Hamlet is rich in homiletic material of all kinds, reflecting almost every aspect of the religious situation in a deeply religious age (Milward 9). These pieces of religious literature are crucial to the plot of Hamlet. The religious elements found in this tragedy provide the plot, allusions, and foreshadowing. One of the very first... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the idea of purgatory, there is an allusion to the Garden of Eden in Hamlet. During Hamlet s first soliloquy he says Denmark, tis an unweeded garden (Shakespeare 1.2.135). The audience probably would not think anything of this; however, once the play gets to scene five of act one it brings into question what garden Hamlet and the Ghost are talking about. In this scene the Ghost is telling Hamlet how King Claudius killed him. The Ghost says, sleeping in my orchard, / A serpent stung me (Shakespeare 1.5.35 36). According to Michael Ferber, the author of A Dictionary of Literary Symbols, a serpent can symbolize the devil, and an orchard is also known as a garden (Ferber 186, 83). Knowing these two pieces of information found in Hamlet the audience is now able to infer that the garden being alluded to is the Garden of Eden. According to the New Living Translation Bible, the Garden of Eden is considered the fall of man. This is where Eve was convinced by the Devil to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve then convinced Adam to eat from the tree, which was considered the first sin (Gen. 2 3). Shakespeare was wise in choosing this biblical allusion because at this point of the tragedy the audience learns about the first sin of King Claudius. If Shakespeare had not used this biblical allusion in Hamlet the audience would have lost the importance of this being the first sin
  • 3. Essay on Impact of World War One on American Literature The Impact of World War One on American Literature As people mature, their beliefs evolve; as a child it is easy to be guided by adults, to believe in adults. As adults, people have their own beliefs. It is the period in the middle that is the hardest. As children begin to grow, they begin to push limits and question authority. The modernist period in American literature is comparable to those teenage years. In the early stages of American literature, America looked to her mother England for guidance. The very traditional literature that resulted had a strong emphasis on religion, family, and country. In early literature it was scandalous to question God; the family was only to be portrayed as a supportive, loving community; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The young man, George Gearson, is unsure about enlisting, for he is more of an intellectual type than he is a soldier looking for a fight. George s fiancГ©e is Editha, who in her innocent ignorance cannot see why George even has to question enlisting. Editha sees war as a chance for George to be a hero and thereby become worthy of her and her love. She threatens to break their engagement because of George s reluctance to serve his country. She writes George a letter telling him, There is no greater honor above America with me. In this great hour there is no other honor (365). These sentiments sound ridiculous, but it is actually an accurate depiction of the state of mind of many young Americans in this era. Going to war for America was believed to be their duty, and it was an honor to do their duty. When America called on her young men once again to go to Europe and fight in the trenches of World WarI, they went. America s decision to join a war on foreign soil that was already in progress was highly questionable. Many people attributed America s involvement in the war with the sinking of the passenger liner Lusitania, but even more attributed the decision to economic reasons, like Senator George Norris, who said, We are going to war upon the command of Gold (931). American soldiers and sailors did not know why

Gettysburg is also known as one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in America ( The Battle of Gettysburg by Bruce Caton: Introduction: Paragraph 2: Line 1). A large cause of the civil war was the difference of opinion on whether slavery should be abolished in the United States. The southern states relied on slave labor to make money. The north did not need slavery as much as the south did because it was more industrialized. The fighting took place between the Union and Confederate armies. The northerners were the Union and the southerners were the Confederates. This war altered the nation as a whole because both sides were from the United States. The country was fighting with itself. The battle of Gettysburg played a very large role in the war. Many would argue that this was not the most important battle of the civil war, but others would say that it affected the outcome of the war in a very large way. The Battle of Gettysburg was a major battle in the civil war between the Union and Confederate armies.

Burns uses animals in his poetry as a way of looking back at man, and seeing through another perspective. Samuel Taylor Coleridge based his narrative poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, around the sanctity of nature, especially that of the albatross, a large sea bird who was a sign of good luck to the sailors aboard the mariner s ship. After the ancient mariner inhospitably kills their good omen, everything starts to fall apart. The mariner eventually is trapped in a solitary, never ending penance, telling certain people his story. The people he tells however, do not appreciate the story because it points out their lack of spirituality, especially in the case of the wedding guest. Coleridge, like Blake in The Lamb, relates animals and nature to Godliness. In conclusion, many Romantic poets showed a fascination with nature, and especially with animals. They used animals as symbols for many things, or for another way of viewing the world, but no matter what the use, animals played a major part in the works of Romantic poets. However, most doctors say that freezing your eggs before the age of 37 is fine. This recommended age is when the quality and quantity of a woman s egg is still suitable for egg freezing. What if I m older than 37 years? Good news: Women still conceive naturally at this age. The CDC reports that nearly 120,000 women in their 40s give a birth every year in the United States, with only 9% of these births resulting from IVF. However, at some point in their 40s, women experience Diminished Ovarian Reserve. This means that women no longer have healthy eggs to fertilize naturally or retrieve for preservation. The condition may occur at younger age due to disease or injury, but it most commonly occurs as a result of the normal aging process. Dr. Dominic Stoop suggests the ideal age for the egg freezing is 31 35. However, although eggs from women in 36 40 years will result in fewer pregnancies because of lower egg quality, he adds that these women may still benefit given the accelerated age related decline in fertility after the age of 40 years . In other words, if you re 36 or older and you re not trying to conceive right now, you re more likely achieve pregnancy success later if you freeze your eggs

You may not be fast enough to win state now, but just wait until your senior year! Little did I know, he was absolutely right. Once my senior season rolled around, I was zoned in. The first three years of high school were full of hard work and perseverance, and the time had finally come to make it happen. Between the 100 and 200 meter dashes, I had won every single race leading up to state, with the exception of one second place finish in the 200 meter dash. Every night, I laid awake in bed thinking of the state meet. Every detail was thoroughly planned out in my head. The key to winning in the sprints is getting a good start out of the blocks. I was going to explode out so hard that people were gonna think I had jet fuel in my shoes. In sprinting, a good start will set a runner up in a position to run as smooth as possible. My start was going to carry me to that perfect position, and I was going to glide across that finish line faster than anyone in the state. As the season progressed, I had won conference and districts, and I was expected to win state. Leaving home, I still had no idea how much the next two days were going to change my life. The destination for state track is always at Omaha Burke High School, which is about a one hour drive from my hometown. The

Made popular by Shakespeare s play Henry V, many people have forgotten or are unaware of the true details of the actual battle. Myriad details have never been satisfyingly resolved. One of the controversies involves the fact that Henry V ordered the deaths of the French prisoners that he had gained during the battle. According to most historians, Henry commanded his soldiers to kill the prisoners after the battle was already won, though he may or may not have realized it at the time. In regard to this fact, researchers have called Henry everything from a clever strategian to a cruel tyrant. There are a few eyewitness accounts, called chronicles, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare introduces the notion that Henry commissioned his invasion of France upon the instability of his position on the throne as his main focus, as well as his claim to the French throne. Therefore, his determination was authentic, possibly making him resolve to win at all costs as he faced the French army that reputably was much larger than his own. According to Shakespeare s tale, the killing of the prisoners during the battle of Agincourt seems to have been induced by a sudden panic on the part of Henry V when he heard a sudden commotion and realized that his army was being attacked from behind, just as his victory seemed assured. While this latter concept corresponds fairly well with the original accounts, Shakespeare s rendition of the event must be handled with caution as historical fiction, not historical fact. Additionally, in the play, immediately before this happens, he hears a vivid account of how one of his relatives died in the battle, and his grief may have played a part in the suddenness of the order (Shakespeare, 1599, Henry V, Act IV, Scene VI) Five accounts currently exist that have survived from the time of the battle in which the

If Totalitarian Agriculture were to disappear tomorrow, then our culture would be obliterated by starvation. This is not so for the remaining tribal peoples of the world. They are fully well capable of surviving on their own just the same as humans have been since there were humans. Thinking about this further made me think about the reasons for adopting this practice. Our culture practices working to grow and produce food, locking it up, and then forcing people to pay to get it. before the agricultural revolution 10,000 years ago, humans had been living successfully as hunter gatherers for a hundred thousand years, so asked myself what was the reason for this sudden mind change to the practice of Totalitarian Agriculture? One answer is due to the vast amounts of food surpluses that are created with totalitarian agriculture. This is part of the answer to the next reason for totalitarian agriculture, which is power and expansion. The founders of totalitarian agriculture thought that their way to live was the one right way for all humans to live. These vast surpluses of food enabled this culture to expand into surrounding territories near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and use force to take the land from tribal peoples. So now, the first generations of our culture putting

  • 33. Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how mathematicians came about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by geometry as someone today might think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from the early Egyptians and Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the impossibility to solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way. Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to the Babylonians, solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any clue about how the Babylonians came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came across is geometrically. Stewart shows how Euclid s Elements of Geometry introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in Elements in Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect and angle though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7 gon. It was Euclid s Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as squaring the circle with only a compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led mathematicians to change the way that they

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.0 CONCEPTUAL CLASSIFICATION The porosity of the borders of most ECOWAS countries has led to the mammoth rise in the rate of cross border crimes, ranging from drug trafficking, human trafficking, tax evasion to money laundering. This rise has not only expanded, but has multiplied these crimes to a more sophisticated type with a crippling effect on the local economy and international relations of these countries. These increase can be linked to the ready ease with which humans and goods could travel between these ECOWAS countries, whilst the developments in technology has further facilitated the transfer of the proceeds from such criminal activities in ways hitherto unknown, this led to the swift rate at which money laundering amongst these countries developed5. Other economic and financial crimes, for example, drug trafficking and human trafficking also grew in limps and bounds, thus contributing to the growth in the incidence of money laundering and financial terrorism. By reason of the fact that the global agenda to curb financial crimes calls for cooperative approach among countries in addressing these challenges, introducing a number of international legislations on money laundering and financial terrorism became a necessity. The treaties includes; the United Nation s Convention against the Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 1988, the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism

Nonage is the inability to use one s own understanding without another s guidance. • 38. The Government Of The People Democracy is, and will always be, as one of America s past presidents Abraham Lincoln stated in his Gettysburg Address, government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The exact definition for democracy is a system of government by the whole population of a state, typically through elected members. The original idea of democracy that America s Founding Fathers promoted has shifted throughout the years. America was founded on the principles of freedom and liberty and many of these freedoms and liberties are being stripped away, or are at risk of being stripped away, by the American government. America is no longer a democracy, but it is an oligarchy. America is considered an oligarchy because of one reason, and that reason is that power lies in the hand of the elite wealthy. The majority of the population in America belongs to the middle class. The preferences of most American citizens have little impact on government. Instead, the responsiveness of government is strongly tilted towards the most affluent citizens . Those who reap the benefits are the ones creating policies. As U.S. supreme court justice, Louis Brandeis, stated, America can have democracy or it can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but it cannot have both. Oligarchy and democracy cannot coexist. It is true to say that since the founding of America, freedoms and rights of all who have inhabited this land have greatly increased. However, in recent years, these rights have
