Essay On Business Communication
Crafting an essay on the subject of business communication can be both challenging and
intricate. The difficulty lies in the need to navigate through the vast and dynamic landscape of
business communication, which encompasses a broad spectrum of topics ranging from
interpersonal communication within organizations to the impact of digital technologies on
business communication strategies.
To begin with, one must delve into the fundamental principles of effective communication in a
business context. This involves understanding the various channels and modes of
communication, such as written, verbal, and non-verbal communication, and their respective
roles in conveying messages within an organizational setting. Additionally, one needs to explore
the significance of clarity, conciseness, and coherence in business writing, as these elements play
a crucial role in ensuring that messages are transmitted accurately and comprehensively.
Furthermore, the complexity of business communication extends to the cultural and contextual
factors that influence how messages are interpreted. An effective essay on this topic requires an
exploration of cross-cultural communication challenges, acknowledging that what may be
considered appropriate communication in one business context could be perceived differently in
another.
Moreover, the rapid evolution of technology poses an additional layer of complexity to the
subject. Addressing the integration of digital communication tools, social media, and virtual
collaboration platforms in the business environment is essential. Analyzing their impact on
communication dynamics, organizational culture, and stakeholder relationships adds depth to the
essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on business communication demands a comprehensive
understanding of a multifaceted field. It necessitates not only a grasp of theoretical frameworks
but also the ability to apply them to real-world scenarios. Successfully navigating through these
complexities requires time, research, and a nuanced approach.

Muhammad, A Biography Of Prophet Essay
Muhammad, A Biography Of Prophet A short history about the world s fastest
growing religion and of the man, who seeded the plant of Islamhimself, Muhammad
(saw). Armstrong writes this book in a humanist style and introduces the reader to the
cultural and historical background of the life of Mohammed and the revelation of the
Quran. She first starts with the West s long history of... Show more content on

She has done her homework in compiling this book and it shows as she goes back
and forth with the dates of different events. The book also shows maps in the
beginning that help the reader to get a better idea of the geography of the area in
the past times along with genealogical charts that give a clear picture of Muhammad
s gene . It s a well written book for an intelligent person who wishes to be informed.
The main idea or it can be called an argument that Armstrong put forth was to break
the wrong image of the west about the Holy Prophet. She starts describing
Muhammad s rising success as a skilled and respected politician; Armstrong mentions
that the Christian world has always judged this part of the prophet s life with distrust.
The Western view has traditionally seen Muhammad s political success as proof that
he was an impostor using religion as a means to power. To explain this attitude,
Armstrong offers the following insight:
Because the Christian world is dominated by the image of the crucified Jesus, who
said that his kingdom was not of this world, we tend to see failure and humiliation
as the hallmark of a religious leader. We do not expect our spiritual heroes to achieve
a dazzling success in mundane terms. (p. 164)
Armstrong depicts Muhammad (saw) in glowing colors, even when she admits his
wrongdoings. In the 8th chapter, Holy War , Armstrong recounts the massacre and
summary executions of the
Fault In Our Stars Thesis
The Fault in Our Stars, a novel written by John Green and published on January 10,
2012, is a traditional love story complicated by cancer featuring main character
Hazel Grace Lancaster, a spirited young woman with cancer who falls in love with
Augustus Waters (Gus), who also has cancer. This book is one of John Green s most
popular novels, leaving teens all around the world in lovewith this book, which was
created into a movie two years after it was published on June 6, 2014, starring
Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as Gus. During the
introduction of The Fault in Our Stars, one of the first pages contains only one line;

John said Esther wanted friendships that weren t defined and circumscribed by

The Defense Budget Should Increase Military Spending
To spend or not to spend, that is the question. America is torn, not sure whether it
should increase military spending or if it should considerably slash the budget.
Advocates for a higher defense budget claim more spending will lead to a stronger,
better trained military, which would in turn help secure our status as the superlative
militarypower of the world. However, supporters of the defense budget cuts argue
for a reduction in troop size, which they believe would save the country billions and
allow the nation to focus those savings on next generation technology for protection.
This argument has raged for decades with no solution in sight. Maybe we have been
approaching this problem all wrong. Perhaps, instead of the shortsighted approach of
either raise or lower the budget, we try a smarter, more efficient method of spending
to ensure every dollar of our annual military budgetpositively impacts our national
defense. The debate whether to raise or lower the defense budget has plagued this
nation for generations with many sides expressing their viewpoints on the matter.
Though there are no doubt countless points of views, two main camps come to the
forefront: either rise or lower the budget. These two opposing camps are often broad
enough to encompass most other ideas on the debate whether for or against it,
leaving outliers little room at the proverbial table in which to make their case.

German History Essay
Most would agree that it is valuable to acknowledge history, whether it be through
documentation, education, or architectural preservation. However, history can be
complex and ugly, stained by war, genocide, and destruction. Therein lies a
philosophical controversy: should these historical stains be acknowledged or buried?
What role do these ugly histories have in the development of a society? Within the
last century, no nation has been forced to confront these questions on the same scale
that Germanyhas (Levinger 118). With a twentieth century historymarked by hatred
and the abuse of power, National Socialism and Soviet communism, Germany s dark
history lies only decades in the past. For this reason, these histories remain freshly...

In essence, historic preservation roots collective memory in a physical, tangible
space. To many scholars, memory in this context is not simply information that is
recalled and retold (qtd. in Till 11). Instead, it is the act of continuously finding and
contextualizing history by means of physical space. Preservation of historical
architecture is therefore unique, as it juxtaposes this history and memory with the
surrounding modern world. This highlights the importance of preserving history
through architecture, rather than museums, textbooks, and archives alone. By
preserving the physical remnants of a city s dark history, residents and passersby
are forced to confront this history nondeliberately. Moreover, according to Rudy J.
Koshar, a preserved site must maintain some present value or purpose. This is
particularly relevant when considering the preservation of buildings or sites which
represent a history that is controversial or shameful, as it is important to balance the
shame evoked by this space with the benefits of its preservation.
The task of historic preservation is especially challenging in nations such as
Germany which have pasts that many are reluctant to remember. Germany is a
particularly interesting case, as it is now recognized as one of the most progressive,
economically powerful, and politically liberal countries in the world. Yet, no
comparably modern country is

How the atmosphere that surrounds us make us who we are? For us, this is the main
theme in the film. The story itself is about a kid, Lucas, who urges to be a man, but
that urge ends up tricking him since he hasn t the courage to become a man and
involves himself with some characters that are the predators of that jungle in the film.

Business Chain Of Command Or Hierarchical Structure
Upward/downward communication occurs when information and messages are
trickled through an organization or business chain of command or hierarchical
structure (Grimsley, Study.com). An easier description of upward/downward
communication is the concept of messages and commands starting from the upper
levels of an organization or business which is then facilitated towards lower levels
through smooth communicationfrom the employer or whoever is in charge.
Advantages of having effective upward downward communication is organizational
discipline, work efficiency, communication of goals and the ease of delegation
(Grimsley, Study.com). Discipline is implemented due to the main emphasis of
upward downward communication within the organization. Delegation of
assignments and projects throughout the organization is done with ease; this
represents the chain of command. Upward downward communication forces
employees to work together while creating a competitive environment. The chain of
command is represented through upward downward communication. In order to
make your way to the top of the chain, it forces employees to hold a strong work ethic
, while keeping in mind the best interest of the organization. Competition is healthy,
the workforce teaches individuals to never have a sense of complacency or
incompetence. If you can t do the job, then someone else will. When it specifically
comes to downward communication the best interest of the company is in mind.

I didn t know it at the time, but I believe because of my experience that set the
foundation for the student that I am today. My brother started Kindergarten and
my mother would drop me off at the babysitter so she could go to school. My first
academic memory is remembering my mother sitting at the table saying she had
homework, my brother not wanting to be bothered because he had homework. So
when my mom didn t have school and my brother had school together WE did
homework. That became our time together, she didn t send me to school, she
created school at the kitchen table. She had books, worksheets, cards, and my own
folder. My mother loves to remind me how I use to tell everyone that I didn t go to
preschool. Fast Forward five years, my friends were getting grounded for their grades
and asking me why I never got in trouble for mine. My friends and I spoke with my
mom and her reply was, I believe if you do your best, try your hardest, and do
everything you can to be the best you can I don t believe in punishing Bethany.
Now, If Bethany didn t try her best, try her hardest, do everything she could to get the
best grades she can then we will look at why. My friend looked at me and said Oh,
you re lucky! I wish I had your mom! I never shared that all my grades were A s,
because I did my best, I tried my hardest and I did everything I could to get the best
grades I could and I still do. If I need to study for 3 hours, If I need to seek out a

The Abolition Of Slavery In America
Slavery
Slavery in America began when the first African slaves were brought to the North
American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, to aid in the production of such
lucrative crops as tobacco. Slaves were mostly of African decent. About 12 million
slaves had been shipped from Africa, and 10 million had arrived in America. Slavery
was a problem that lasted 245 years in North America. There was nothing uplifting
or positive about slavery, and it was basically white people making black people, their
slaves.
Slavery was eventually put to an end by leaders such as; Fredrick Douglass,
Theodore Parker, Harriet Tubman, and Martin Luther King Jr. These leaders brought
attention to the horrid act of slavery and what it does to people. Slavery is ... Show

Douglass was born a slave and became a noted reformer, author and speaker. He
dedicated his life to the abolition of slavery and the fight for Black rights. He was
convinced that Abolition should be achieved by moral enticement alone, without
political action.
Next, Theodore Parker (1818 1895) attacked the Fugitive Slave Law from his
Boston stand, urging his audience to assist runaways in any way they could. He
wanted to stress the importance of helping in any way possible. He hid scores of
fugitives from the federal agents delegated to summon up them, and he engineered
their escape to Canada.
Harriet Tubman man (1822 1913) was an African American woman whose daring
rescues helped hundreds of slaves to freedom. She became the most famous leader of
the Underground Railroad, which helped slaves escaping to the free states or to
Canada.
She was called the Black Moses, who led over 300 slaves to freedom on the
Underground Railroad and was never caught, nor any of the fugitives in her charge.
Even just the fact that she was a women makes some people look up to her even

The Biological Agents That Can Negatively Impact The...
Biological agents are living organisms or products of living organisms, and can be
found everywhere. Although, they may be useful in life, they could also be source
of threat to human health (European Agency for Safety and Health at work, 2016).
They include bacteria, fungi and viruses and their metabolites, as well as parasitic
worms and plants. Biological agents can enter the body by absorption through eyes,
skin, wounds (needle stick injuries, bites from animals etc) or mucous membranes
and by inhalation. In a situation of favourable living conditions, fungi, viruses and
bacteria reproduces very fast within a short period of time. And some of these
biological agents can be passed from one individual to the other. Biological agents are

In the case of Hepatitis A, individuals can easily contract it from close contact with
infected persons or through ingestion of contaminated food or faeces (London
Hazards Centre, (LHC) 2005). There are different symptoms that could be observed
with individuals infected with Hepatitis A, such as nausea, lack of appetite,
abdominal pain, fever and jaundice to coma and death. This disease can be prevented
in the work environment through personal hygiene, good sanitation, and waste
disposal. In term of comparison, hepatitis is 100 times more infectious than HIV, and
can be transmitted through saliva, blood, vaginal secretions, semen and urine (LHC,
2005). It is a disease that can be in the infected individual s body without any
symptoms. In the United Kingdom, almost 50,000 of the hepatitis B carriers are
symptomless, while one third of the infected persons are without symptoms. One
third was affected by mild flu like illness and severe illness confronted another one
third for about six months with vomiting, jaundice, nausea, fever, fatigue and pain.
Hepatitis if not properly managed can lead to cancer of the liver or Cirrhosis. Due to
the fact that healthcare workers like pathologists, surgeons, personnel in emergency
departments, dentists and dental hygienists, laboratory workers and personnel in
labour and delivery are at increased risk of infection if they are exposed to the blood

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind provides a good example of the possibility of
presenting philosophical concepts in a fictional feature film. Eternal sunshine of the
spotless mind is science fiction based romantic and comedy film written by Charlie
Kaufman and is directed by Michel Gondry. The film is based on romance and
mainly the scientific aspect to explore and flourish the nature of the human memory.
The film was presented to the viewers in March 2004. The film is made closer to
originality, something like troubling memories forgotten by the mind of the person
but still it is some where in memory. Sometimes we are concentrated on everlasting
thoughts in our minds when we are alone and making assumptions about matter, the
film is based on such phenomenon and is a great piece of art.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a movie primarily about two lovers namely
Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski. Joel, wakes up on Valentine s Day, skips
work, takes a train to Montauk, and meets Clementine. In this film Joel, a soloist
meets a girl namely clementine who needs carefulness and love but their
relationship ended when Joel came to know that she had erased him from her
memory. Joel became sad after being aware of the situation, he was desperate and
finally came to a logical solution to forget her and then he removed her from his
mind as well. Joel and Clementine incidentally met again in a train and immediately

I never learned about the history of Puerto Rico while in school. The curriculum
during my grade school years never included Puerto Rican history. It is interesting
that there is a whole month dedicated to Hispanic heritage and not once did we

Americans would be opposed to working. The misconception that they are
Effectiveness Of Effective Interpersonal Communication
The most successful law enforcement officers are those that are able to find solutions
and yet uphold enforcement without resorting to other use of force methods as most
fights can be won with the right and positive attitude. Therefore, it is essential that the
use of effective interpersonal communication is the numer one compliance tool and
resource for law enforcement officers.
According to a survey, law enforcement officers spend 80 percent of the time using
their interpersonal communications, whether its verbal, face to face, on the two way

What Caused The 981 Airplane Crash
March 3, 1974 a catastrophe occurred outside of Paris. Turkish Airlines flight 981
out of Paris experienced a chain reaction of unfortunate events, that lead to the
eventual crash of the plane, and the complete fatality of every passenger on board
the plane. The DC 10 aircraft, designed by the plane company McDonnell Douglas,
crashed in a forest 10 minutes after taking off from Paris. People who have
analyzed this accident, have looked into what caused this plane to crash and take
the life of all 346 passengers on board? Among the analysts are three different types
of accident theories that try to explain why the plane crashed and how the crash
could have been avoided and spared the life of hundreds. The High Reliability

10 minutes after take off the cargo door on the underside of the plane opened and
got ripped off. The cause for this was the locking pins that were supposed to lock
in the latch on the plane locked, but the latch had not latched onto the bar so the
plane s cargo door was not locked and due to the g force on the plane during takeoff
and ascent into the sky the door was compromised. This event caused a chain
reaction of events to occur. After this happened the pressure from the outside
acclimated with the cargo bay which caused there to be too much of a pressure
differential between the cargo bay and the cabin. This caused the floor of the cabin
to collapse, which then broke all three of the control cables. With all the cables
torn and broken the pilot lost control of the plane. The plane then crashed and
caused everyone on board to die. The overall crash of the DC 10 could have been
avoided had specific points of failure throughout the plane been fixed by an

found that students who live on campus have a higher GPA compared to those
who live off campus. With that being said, you would think colleges would want
on campus living to be the best it can be for college students, so more students will
want to live in the residence halls, compared to off campus? Paige Herald and
Daily Fieldsted found that one of the big reasons for this is the support system
students receive when living in residence halls. I personally agree with this due to
the amount of support I get from my hall. There may be the occasional drama, but
so many girls still support you 110% no matter if it is your personal issues you are

because they do not like the residence halls, but sometime for financial reasons, and
for the ability to have more privacy and responsibility. There are so many pros and

Imperialism Annexation
Research Question: To what extent was the annexation of the Philippines a violation
of the Teller Amendment in 1898?
Motives for Imperialism
The conquest of Africa began in 1881 when the king of Belgium sent Henry Morton
Stanley to obtain treaties with the local chiefs to create an imperialized colony
triggering various European nations to follow in the same footsteps.
In the Berlin Conference, the major European nations organized a meeting to split the
Africa into colonies amoungst themselves for economic and political purposes and
United States saw themselves falling behind the imperialist era.
Controversy struck over deciding the status of the Philippines since imperialism
could possibly open doors for new markets and trade possibilities benefiting the
economy.
America s Reasons for the Annexation of the Philippines
The U.S. government were stumped with questions on deciding if the Philippines
Islands should be seized or only take the port of Manila as military base leading to
major debates of the situation.
According to McKinley, Filipinos were unfit for self government and they would
eventually lead into anarchy and misrule resulting the development of the peace
treaty to seize the islands.
McKinley believed the Filipinos needed to be educated and uplifted meaning they
needed to be Christianized which McKinley used as an excuse to annex the
Philippines.
Suggestions rose to give back the island to Spain or give it to one of the imperial
powers but
The Thoughtless Themes In Chesterton s Hammer Of God
When Wilfred thought he was in the clear for not being blamed as the criminal, he
was almost trembling with the excitement of his own glimpse of the truth
(Chesterton 9). He believed that people would be evinced by his disguised sins for
blaming others for actions they did not part take in. While Wilfred isolated himself
from others, he was participating in a crime on one he should love. In Chesterton s
Hammer of God, foreshadowing, setting, and characterdevelopment create the theme
that selfishness hides truth.
Foreshadowing explores the idea that selfishness breaks relationships as Wilfred
approaches Norman s death. Wilfred admits to warning Norman: I told Norman
myself to beware of the thunderbolt (Chesterton 10). Wilfred ... Show more content

In speaking with Wilfred, Father Brown explains that men who prayed on hills and
high crags, and learnt to look down on the world more than to look up at heaven
(Chesterton 13). Father Brown tells this to the Wilfred, hoping that the Protestant
curate will make the connection with his own spiritual pride in looking down
spiritually on his wild brother. The location of the church is at the top of the hill
and overlooks the whole town. Wilfred uses the church to isolate himself from the
others, while he claims to go to church for prayer. He then uses the top of the
steeple to watch over the town, and in his selfish advantage he drops the hammer
from such a far distance onto his brother Norman, causing a large blow due to
gravity. The visual perspective from the sky high church upon the insects symbolizes
the spiritual one that makes the murder possible. When one ceases to think of sinners
as humans, murder becomes more simple for one to cease to exist.
Along with setting, Chesterton also emphasizes character development to maintain
the theme avoidance of the truth. Character Development demonstrates the self
centered aspect as Wilfred acknowledges he is the reason for Norman s death.
Wilfred observes his location: He saw all men walking about like insects. He saw
one especially strutting just below him, insolent and evident by a bright green hat a
poisonous insect (Chesterton 13). Wilfred declares his sight from above. He admits to

The Brute
Personality Profile: Mrs. Popov in The Brute by Anton Chekhov In The Brute,
Anton Chekhov scripts a relatively short, one act play which features two
prominent and distinct main characters. Chekhov himself was born in 1860 in
Russia to a lower middle class family. At age sixteen, he was literally abandoned by
his family, an event which would shape the course of his life and writings in the
years to come. Chekhov s outlandish stories are generally classified as farces, which
are defined as light, dramatic works in which highly improbable plot situations,
exaggerated characters, and often slapstick elements are used for humorous effect
(Dictionary.com/Farce). The Brute is thus typical of Chekhov s work. Written in
1888, it was originally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Smirnov enters the story, Mrs. Popov portrays herself as an introvert who masks
her true feelings. Although Luka s intentions to change Mrs. Popov s mind are
good, the way she responds to his remarks shows that they have known each other
for a long time and simply will brush off whatever comments he makes regarding
the subject. It seems as if they have had this conversation before with the same
results. Mrs. Popov s initial state reveals much about her character. Her husband
was wealthy enough to allow her to live comfortably after his death. She retained
the services of the faithful butler Luka. After her husband s death, Mrs. Popov has
been a woman struggling to determine what she wants in life. She has to convince
herself to carry on mourning by continuing to look at her departed husband s
photograph. It can be implied that she has not gotten out much since the death and
most likely locked herself inside the house. In a sense, she feels liberated from the
control of men, but she knows in order to maintain that freedom she must remain
without male intervention. To accomplish this safely, she knows she must not
allow herself to be friendly with any male. This is the reason for the attitude she
adopts when Mr. Smirnov walks in the room. Mr. Smirnov enters and introduces
himself to Luka, who then goes to fetch Mrs. Popov. She refuses to see the guest,
stating I see no one! (1064). This is a perfect example of Mrs. Popov s attempt to
keep herself isolated

Love
Love for another often hides a greater love for oneself By a close comparison of
your two texts, discuss the representation of sex and seduction.
In both Milton s Paradise Lost and Ford s Tis Pity She s a Whore sex is represented
as a catalyst for sin. The love which is promised by many of the central characters
in the poem and the play often has a falsehood and is used as a facade for the
character s true egotistic needs within.
One can see a falsehood in Giovanni s admitted love for Annabella which conceals a
simply lustful desire for his sister. When demonstrating his love for Annabella,
Giovanni focuses solely on her aesthetics, a love that T.S Elliot believed to be
merely a carnal infatuation . This can be seen in his ... Show more content on

During the time in which Ford was writing his play, women were expected to obey
their father in the choice of a husband.
A similar falsehood can be seen in Florio s supposed love for Annabella. He uses a
generous display of his care for his daughter as a sign of his own status and
lucrative power, My care is how to match her to her liking , telling Donado that I
would not have her marry wealth, but love . However, this is simply an exhibition
of any genuine interest in his daughter s self government. Annabelle s happiness
becomes one more possession he can show off and Florio disguises a devotion to
the instruction of his daughter s desire with apparent good intentions and paternal
thoughtfulness. Florio however secretly imposes his own choice of husband on his
daughter with the promise of his daughter s hand to Soranzo. This falsehood of
intention can be compared to Milton s Satan s suggested compassion for Eve. He
with show of zeal and love to man... new part puts on and displays his false love for
mankind, thus concealing his real intents of temptation. By looking as passion moved
and disturbed Satan leads Eve to her eventual fall.
Although there are multiple opinions stating that Adam s love for Eve has a lustful
falseness, one can see signs of true love in his reluctance to part with her, eventually
telling her to Go for thy stay, not free, absents thee more . This marital love can also
be seen in Adam s Glorious trial of exceeding
History Of Memory Advancements
Some of the memory advancements post 2008 are as follows:
1.Solid State Drives: Solid State Drives are storage devices that make use of
integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data. SSDs have no moving
mechanical components. They are different from hard disk drives because they
don t contain spinning disks and movable read/write heads. 2.3D XPoint:
(pronounced three dee cross point) is a non volatile memory (NVM) technology
which utilizes bit storage based on a change of bulk resistance, in conjunction with
a stackable cross gridded data access array. This is a new type of non volatile
memory that was announced in 2015 and is set to hit the market in mid 2017.
3.Thin Film Memory: Thin film memory is an upgraded high speed ... Show more

This ultimately slows down operations, it provides a 25% increase in storage capacity.
Next 5 years Moore s Law states that the number of transistors in a dense integrated
circuit doubles approximately every two years. Flash memory has been and will
continue to take advantage of Moore s Law as performance and cost per bit
increases in the years to come. Its competitor, the HDD is still widely used thanks to
its cheap cost and high capacity. In the next 5 10 years, it s a guarantee that both these
technologies will continue to improve.
Hard Disks Developments in hard disks can be seen in technologies the likes of
SMR (mentioned above) which Seagate revealed at the end of 2014 with the launch
of an 8TB disk. Success of SMR will give rise to the adoption of another technique
known as Two Dimensional Magnetic Recording (TMDR) signal processing. Because
tracks are so thin/close together, the read head tends to pick up noise and signals from
neighboring tracks whilst retrieving data. To tackle this problem, multiple heads are
used to read portions of multiple tracks simultaneously. The drive then subtracts the
inter track interference signals.
Another contender for hard disk improvement is the Heat Assisted Magnetic
Recording (HAMR). HAMR uses laser strapped drive heads. The lasers heat up the
track right before the data is recorded. The heated tracks produce smaller, more
precisely magnetized areas with less interference between

Titration has application to be as blood sugar and pregnancy test. For pregnancy test
it applies to titration, as it test the concentration of the blood to identify whether a
person is pregnant or not. The concept is same for blood sugar testing, from the
concentration of the blood can help determine the amount of glucose in the blood

relying use in chemical reaction, but rather other important real life use.
Errors: Percent error: Measured value Accepted value/Accepted value X 100
0.468 0.5/0.5 X 100= 6.4% percent error
Sources of error: One possible error can be during the process of putting the base
solution into acid beaker until it turns pink. There maybe a possibly that there are
more base in the acidic solutions. This would related to the outcome of the percent
error to be negative. If there was less base than the actually amount than the titration
calculation would be lower.
Second potential error could be some incorrect measurement on the buret for base
solution volume. In some case measuring is hard tell in decimal number and is not
always accurate, there maybe a slight chance the measurement could have been lower
than usual. If this were the error, this would affect the outcome of molarity because if
there is low measured volume it will ultimately result in a low
The Two Theorists Hume And Kent
Thomas Johnson
The Meaning of Arts
Professor Brennan
Beauty
The two theorists Hume and Kent are basically talking about beauty and what is
commonly done in order to enhance beauty. The argument therefore involves two
theories, which are talking about the same thing, which is beauty even though they
have different thoughts about beauty. They therefore provide a broad and wide
definition and also reasons as to why different things are taking place in order to
enhance beauty. The two theories are therefore opposing each other to some extent
and they also agree with each other to some extent while trying to pass the
information about beauty (Freeland, 2001, p.10).
This article is therefore going to look at each of the two theories in order to ... Show

Then it will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each and every theory and it

.
According to Hume s point of view, any person who has a for the most part highly
developed artistic taste assessment of art less valued when it does exult in practices,
which are capable of violating the moral standards which are commonly shared.
Therefore Hume argues that beauty is not the actual quality of things by themselves
but it is an assumption. Beauty therefore exists in a person s mind that always tends
to think about it. Therefore different people with different minds tend to identify a
different type of beauty compared to another person s mind. He also argues that one
person might not be able to see beauty where another person is seeing beauty.
Therefore each and every person has his own opinions about beauty and ideas, thus
no one can be able to think of beauty according to the way another one thinks of
beauty. Therefore Hume argues that beauty can only be thoughtby a person and
therefore different people will always have different thoughts about beauty. Hume
therefore points out that beauty is not real but it is what a person thinks it actually is
according to his or her own way of thinking. Consequently beauty cannot be the same

Critical Appraisal Byrne , C., (2012), Jeesis is alive! He is the King of Australia:
segregated religious instruction, child identity and exclusion. British Journal of
Religious Education. 34 (3) pp. 317 331.
This paper outlines a critical appraisal for a research paper conducted by Cathy Byrne
(2012). Byrnes paper is an exploratory case study into the impact of segregated
religious instruction in public schools. She argues that segregated religious
instruction influences identity development and may lead to exclusionary behaviours
in students. This essay argues that Byrnes use of an exploratory research design is an
appropriate and useful approach as this method provides the researcher with a greater
understanding of the topic and allows the researcher to gain clarity in defining the
nature of the research problem (Manerika Manerika , 2014, p.95). It also helps Byrne
define a problem statement for her future research. However, the nature of this
approach is associated with significant limitations, which in Byrnes paper, were
coupled with problems in the research title and method that affected the believability
and validity of the study. There are also issues with the overall argument of the paper
which is based on the assumption that Special Religious Education in Australian
schools are segregated without defining segregation or adequately proving that
grouping students by religious identity for religious

Competitive Advantage , published in 1980. The value chain is a series of activities
that create and build value culminating in the contribution of total value to the

examining the development of an organization s competitive advantage in the
marketplace.
In using the value chain concept, the total activities undertaken by a business are split
into Primary Activities and Support Activities. Primary activities relate to inbound

Conflict Causes Poverty During The Soma-Lian Civil War
highlighted in the case of Sierra Leone, leaving countries in mass poverty. During
the Soma lian civil war Africa Watch (in Adams: 1999: 177) estimated
approximately 50,000 to 60,000 people were killed just by government forces. Over
400,000 were displaced from their homes leaving them either fleeing the country or
living in the countryside of Somalia with no help, shelter or food. Homelessness,
hunger and job insecurity were all characteris tics laid out in the definition of overall
povertyby the UN defined near the beginning of the essay, and caused by civil war.
A further example to show how conflict causes poverty is one of war movement
between Siyaad Barre and his forces and the clans within Majarteen in Somalia.

them with long term development issues, as there is less fertile land for agricultural

food production maintaining the famine. It leaves the country reliant on interna tional

Also the state changes hands and has to adapt again, with deep problematic group

Powerful buyers are less likely to shift loyalties as they might not find others willing
to cater to the niche markets as the focused organizations do. The specialization that
focused organizations is able to achieve in serving a niche market acts as a powerful
barrier to substitute products/services that might be available in the market. For the
same reasons as above, the competence of the focused organization acts as an
effective entry barrier to potential entrants to the niche markets. *Risks associated
with focus *business *strate*gy: Firstly, serving niche markets requires the
development of distinctive competencies to serve those markets. The development of
such distinctive competencies may be a long drawn and difficult process. Being
focused means commitment to a narrow market segment. Once committed, it may be
difficult for the focused organization to move to other segments of the markets. A
major risk lies in the cost configuration for the focused organization. Typically, the
costs for the focused organization are higher as the markets are limited and the
volume of production and sales small. Niches are often transient. They may disappear
owing to technology or market factors. For instance, a new technology may make the

South And Central Afric An Undeveloped Continent
Nowadays, Africa is considered to be an undeveloped continent. Out of all the
reasons Africa grew out to be this way. In this period, there were many different
types of currency in Africa; unlike in other parts of the world where one type of
currency was more used than others. For this study have chosen four different types
of currency, which are cloth, cowries, gold and slaves. We will see how their nature
influenced the economy of precolonial Africa. The conclusion reached is that the
nature of the currencies had a great impact in the underdevelopment, their nature
being especially relevant when the external trade started, because of the contrast
between hard currencies with the African currencies, provoking the latter to become

There are difficulties in the study of this topic. The first one is the view of the
historiography. Many economist and historians have considered Africa to be
underdeveloped even before the colonialism period, which recent studies have
proved to be wrong. Africa had a well developed economic system, where the
monetization of the economy had created a class society . There needs to be more
investigation about this topic, which hopefully will bring some light to this
interesting period in time. Secondly, the lack of primary sources is another
obstacle to the study of this topic, many of the ones available are biased because
they are from a European perspective. However, it is possible to find other material
in archaeology, documents and oral stories. Thirdly, the continent of Africa is huge,
and in its study, we should try to avoid generalizations, because it erases the
particularities of each territory. Therefore, as said, we are going to focus on West
and Central Africa, so the study will be more focused and specific.
There were many different types of currency in precolonial Africa. Among them the
most used ones were cowries, copper, cloth, slaves, gold, silver and salt. Different
areas preferred different kinds of currency, however, their value was recognized in all
West Africa. The multiplicity of currency indicates a lack of centralization, as well as
many connections between zones. One important characteristic
Essay on Ethics and the Advancement of Military
Technology
I. Introduction:
Technology in the light of military weaponry has been one of the growingly
controversial issues that the world faces today. Among the top weapon types that
have advanced greatly over the past recent years are nuclear, chemical and biological
weaponry. Though the United States government and militaryhas been
enthusiastically involved in the evolution of these weapons, their enthusiasm
dwindles when responsibility must be taken for the consequences that result.
Consequences that are left unresolved or postponed only bring about more doubts

Nuclear powered weapons have been tested in nearly any surroundings possible:
underground, underwater, on top of towers and barges, and even fired by rockets
200 miles into the atmosphere.7 These tests have also been carried out in multiple
sites in the United States, such as Nevada, New Mexico, Mississippi, Colorado and
Alaska.7 But though the last weapon test was held over a decade ago by China, an
estimate of 3,830 kilograms of plutonium has been left in the ground, and 4,200
kilograms has been released into the atmosphere due to the great number of nuclear
testing around the world.7
In comparison to nuclear weaponry, using chemicals as a weapon can be dated
back to 400 BC. when the Spartan Greeks used sulfur fumes against the soldiers of
their enemies. Of course, what is today known as modern chemical warfare did not
begin until 1915 during World War I.1 The first chemical used in warfare was 160
tons of chlorine gas, which the Germans released into the wind against their allies
using 6,000 pressurized cylinders.1 This chemical killed over 10,000 troops within
its first and second attack by forming a yellowish liquid in the lungs of the victims
and causing burning in the
Firewall Attack Essay
In the world of computer and network security, there are myriad ways to launch an
attack, which, from the perspective of a network, can usually be defined as traffic
that has vicious intent. There are infinite computer attacks that no firewall can
prevent, such as those executed locally on the machine by a malicious user. From the
network s perspective, there are numerous types of attack. Attacks can be grouped
into two types: brute force and precision. Juniper Firewallhas the capability to protect
against both types of attack. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks are one of the most
well known network security threats under brute force attacks, which is largely due to
the high profile way in which they can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can use flows or sessions as a way to determine whether traffic attempting to
traverse the firewall is legitimate. We control the state checking components
resident in Juniper Firewall by configuring flow settings. These settings allow you
to configure state checking for various conditions on the device. You can use flow
settings to protect against TCP hijacking, and to generally ensure that the fire wall
is performing full state processing when desired. We take a case study of attack on a
network and perform study of the detection of the malicious packets on a Netscreen
Firewall. A new solution for securing enterprise networks will be developed here.
1.INTRODUCTION
A number of malicious attacks which causes disruption to the processes has been
increased due to an increase in the tremendous expansion in the field of computer
networks. The main aim of network administrators is to provide continuous services
to which they are intended to. Currently, the main aim of researchers is to provide
secure network whereas, little intervention has been given to the quantification of
network security which includes assessing of the vulnerability and malicious attacks
to these systems. One of the huge networks which has more possibility to malware is
an Enterprise Network which is a large and diverse network that connects both major
and minor sites within an enterprise.Thesecurity and trustworthiness of Enterprise
Networks have been a major concern in
The Medical And Healthcare Records
The medical or healthcare record has multiple purposes. First, it is repository of
documentation of the actions taken in patient management, the documentation of a
patient s progress, and therefore a mean s to augment one s memory and knowledge
as well as to provide meaningful medical information to other practitioners should the
patient transfer to a new provider or should the original provider be unavailable for
some reason. The health electronic health recordsystem that is currently in use at my
facility is Cerner. Cerner retained the top spot for community hospitals of 101 250
beds for the same time period; it also came out the best for hospitalsystems. I will
discuss the role of this system as it relates to memory, computation decision support
and collaboration. Although there are some minor issues I have noticed throughout
the years I find navigation through this system is secure and easy to use. Cerner has
the capability to display available history and demographics. Each time a patient is
admitted into the hospital their records are maintained and are able to be viewed by
any authorized staff member. Their charts are only allowed to be accessed if the
patient was admitted within the last 30 days at any Methodist Health Care hospital.
All information documented from other Methodist facilities will be visible to current
providers. Chart Search improves productivity by limiting the amount of time needed
to search a patient s medical record. Clinicians
Why I Chose Drama School
I would like to study acting at drama school because it would give me the
opportunity to understand other people s lives and experiences and express this in
a creative way. I have done drama throughout my educational career and have
continued to be inspired by its ability to pass a message and teach people of all ages.
My future plan is to become an actorand being a dramastudent has made me realise
the work ethic it takes to do so. I have learnt to keep on giving it my all to make it
to the top of the competitive industry. One reason why drama appeals to me much
more than other courses is because I see myself as a visual learner, so watching
things rather than reading or just listening helps me to learn more.
Two years ago I was in a film ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Good listening is a really important skill in acting as it is important to listen to the
audience s reaction, other actors, directors and audio. Every year since 2014, I
have dedicated 3 hours a week from December to March to volunteer at a homeless
winter shelter in Wood Green. This includes making teas and coffee for the
homeless, setting up their beds, serving foods and most importantly,
communicating with the homeless and getting to know them. Doing this also
helps me develop empathy for others and a good understanding of other people s
situation. Volunteering is something I really enjoy as I am always keen to help out
the community and connecting with homeless people is a big part of that. I have
been involved in various modelling shoots including modelling for Arena Homme+
Magazine and the Campus Group website. I also volunteered at Lock Studios,
Shoreditch as a studio assistant for two weeks in 2016; this gave me a good insight
into what the industry is like and I met and spoke to a few directors who were

Domestic Violence In Australia Essay
Domestic violence, family violence, domestic abuse, intimate partner violence, child
abuse regardless of the title domestic violence presents in many forms, has different
meanings and is complex. Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behaviour
where one person uses power and control over another. It is not limited to physical
harm and can be verbal, emotional, economic, sexual, social and spiritual (Domestic
ViolenceResource Centre Victoria, 2013).
Domestic violence and family violence are used interchangeably in the media. From
an Australian perspective the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) identified no
single definition of domestic violence and is shaped in the context of inquiry from

The Human Nervous System Essay
The Human Nervous System
The nervous system is the most complex part of the body, as they govern our
thoughts, feelings, and bodily functions. It is an important factor in science because
it can lead to new discoveries for cures or diseases. The studies of the nervous system
helped lower death rates from heart disease, stroke, accidents, etc. The nervous system
is a network of neurons (nerve cells that sends information to the brain to be analyzed.
Neurons live both in and outside the central nervous system. Understanding how the
neurons work is vital to understanding the nervous system.
The neuron has two important structures called the dendrite and axon, also called
nerve fibers. The dendrites are like tentacles that sprout ... Show more content on

The impulse is then sent to another neuron, and the process repeats until the nerves
are at rest. The effect of the signals depends on what the target is. If the target of
the signal is a muscle cell, the effect might be a muscle contraction. The speed of
the electrical impulse depends on the size of the nerve fiber. In small nerves, the
rate it transmits impulses is from a half to two meters a second. The larger the
diameter of the nerve fiber, the higher rate of conducting impulses. There is less
electrical resistance in thick fibers. When nerve impulse jumps from one node (gaps
in nerve fibers) to the next, it is called saltatory conduction. Saltatory conduction
conducts faster because it contains an insulator that prevents leakage of currents. The
rate of conduction is 2 to 120 meters a second. Not all nerves conduct impulse
electrochemically. Some impulses jump from nerve to nerve, bypassing the synapse.
Unlike other cells, once neurons are lost, they can t be regenerated. Fortunately, there
are about 10 billion neurons and they have other cells to aid them in carrying
messages to other nerves. But if nerves are severed, the nerve fibers can regenerate if
the two ends are reattached precisely. However, restored functions may produce
different actions because the nerves might not be connected to the right channel.
There are three main parts of the nervous system: the central, peripheral, and
autonomic

Corporation I spent many of my opening hours in a office doing research,
analyzing data, writing memos, creating the entire system of how the corporation

continuously stated that this is a learning process and that he had hired all three

classrooms and the library. After a few weeks on getting to individually know each

Hume s Problem Of Induction Essay
Hume provided an integral philosophical question analyzing the problems of
causality and of induction. Following Hume s claims, Kant offered his attempt to
solve Hume s problem (or, more broadly, the problems that empiricism faced). By
carefully explaining what the problem is that Kant is attempting to solve, then
explaining vigilantly how Kant tries to solve it. Thus leading to a concluding
critical examination to Kant s solution, indicating whether it s successful and why
or why not that s so. Hume asserts that there is no form of good reasoning that
leads to the conclusion that the future will resemble the past, or that similar causes
will lead to similar effects. Hume dedicated his philosophical work trying to
uncover the problem of induction, and his skepticism of causality. Hume s claims
stem from separating two asserts of knowledge as relations of ideas priori, meaning
that they are certain and it is impossible to imagine them to be false, they tell you
about the meaning of words, knowledge of truths and facts and matters of fact much
of what the scientific community uses, there are craters on the moon, uncertain and
can be imagined to be false, tell you about the world. Matters of fact are ideas that can

He exposes the relation of knowledge and causality by criticizing two assertions.
That every cause has an effect, and if A causes B...then B will always be a result of
event A in the future. The following assertions both can t be validated by either our
intuition or through our senses, Hume claims these assertions are problematic.
Referencing Hume s theory of knowledge, there is no absolute justification for the
faulty assertions, thus emerging the problem of causation. Hume asserts that our
senses can t possibly perceive that all events have a cause, or that we can perceive and
comprehend the causal connection between the two events ensuing chronologically

Wild Water Gets Soaked
Wild Water Gets Soaked I believe that the macroenvironmental elements that affect
the Salernos are laws and regulations and the economy. The Salernos have to abide
by laws and regulations as any business in the United States. They are affected by the
economy because their business is only open several months out of the year. In this
time frame they have to put in extra work in order to make sufficient income in the
limited amount of months that they are open. Their limited income has stopped them
from upgrading the park, which is needed to stay relevant. The element of the
competitive environment that the Salernos face now is customers. As with all
businesses the customers are the driving force. The Salernos have a good customer

Having more residents can be of a great advantage if they make the right moves.
With an adhocracy culture they will be setting themselves up for being creative
and ready when the next big change hits them. I believe that Wild Water s should
get some form of a loan or credit in order to re invent their amusement park. They
should do some research on what other up and coming amusement parks are doing.
They should find a way to incorporate the things people look forward to in
amusement parks and what they have seen loyal customers gravitate towards the
most. In getting a business consultant instead of meetings with employees they can
gain perspective from a professional outside source. I believe that they should make
their park bigger if at all possible. This will allow them to keep the integrity of the
old amusement park with additives that new residents appreciate as well. They
will have to add a better restaurant and things for a person with a higher quality of
taste. I believe that the business consultant will help them through the stages of
decision making to come up with some solid solutions. I believe that the Salernos
can still keep their loyal customers happy by keeping the integrity of the old park.
By keeping some of the greatest attractions of the park loyal customers will feel like
things haven t changed completely. They can also do some kind of special pricing

A Report On Heritage Woods Will Be Bustling With
Farmhands...
They ll have to stay indoors, Crocco said. Heritage Woods will be bustling with
farmhands when the sun comes up.
Right, William said. You guys have to promise to stay indoors until we can find more
private housing. The men nodded and left with Crocco.
Let me get him fed and into bed, Tabitha said, nuzzling the infant. Then we can talk.
Tabitha followed William to the second floor of the condominium. William drew
the shades and lit a kerosene lantern in the bedroom, and another lantern in the
bathroom. Tabitha changed the baby s diaper, and fed him a bottle of formula.
The baby s eyes grew heavy as Tabitha rocked him to sleep, and put him down on a
mattress in the bedroom. She used the warm water in the bathroom to clean herself
up, and changed into clean shorts and a tank top. When she was sure the baby was
asleep, she walked downstairs where William was waiting under the sharp glow of a
single, naked lightbulb hanging from the ceiling.
William stared at Tabitha as she descended the staircase. Even in the unflattering
glare of the single, 80 watt bulb, and past middle age, Tabitha was as beautiful as
ever. There was a slight bend to her back, but she still carried herself with the sleek,
avian movements that William remembered from their days at Beacon Academy.
Her hair was thinner and shorter with a few streaks of gray, and crow s feet clawed at
the corners of her eyes, but her face still held the glow of youth, and her eyes were as
deep, intense, and
The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell By William Blake
In The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, William Blake explored and solidified his
divergent religious beliefs through beautiful etchings and poetry. Blake had relatively
nothing at stake in his opposition to the norm; he had been judged as an insane
person for the majority of his life. However, Blake s resistance to traditional Christian
tenets was only part of his socioreligious defiance. Blake spoke against the very mode
of popular thought through his writing, a revolutionary style of prose and
nontraditional illustration, combined with his outlandish theological views that
delved into parts of his own psyche.
In terms of his writing, Blake s approach to creation reflects the world he was
brought up in. With no formal education, Blake came ... Show more content on

Devourers do not get to experience the entirety of existence because they have not
created on their own without the help of industrialization. The Prolific would cease
to be prolific if the Devourers and the companies behind them were not receiving
the bulk of the recognition and money that came from their similar goods. This
concrete example in of Blake s loathing for what the Industrial Revolution did to
artisans, shown in his text, illustrates that he disagreed with many of his
contemporaries on mass production. In a revolting world, this single viewpoint
showed Blake s personal solidarity with the lower class, as he knew what it was like
to live within it.
All of Blake s works showcase a similar motif of radical and strange religious ideas.
Though Blake would have never said he was non religious, his thoughts surrounding
Christianity didn t often align with those of the church. Blake saw religion
intimately. He quite literally saw it, within his everyday life, in the form of visions
that were real to him. When reading The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, keeping his
visions in mind, it is clear to see that Blake believed religion should be personal. He
wrote about angels and prophets as though they were his lifelong friends. Through
phrases like The Prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel dined with me (Blake 16) and As I was
walking among the fires of Hell, delighted with the enjoyments of Genius, (Blake 9)

  • 1. Essay On Business Communication Crafting an essay on the subject of business communication can be both challenging and intricate. The difficulty lies in the need to navigate through the vast and dynamic landscape of business communication, which encompasses a broad spectrum of topics ranging from interpersonal communication within organizations to the impact of digital technologies on business communication strategies. To begin with, one must delve into the fundamental principles of effective communication in a business context. This involves understanding the various channels and modes of communication, such as written, verbal, and non-verbal communication, and their respective roles in conveying messages within an organizational setting. Additionally, one needs to explore the significance of clarity, conciseness, and coherence in business writing, as these elements play a crucial role in ensuring that messages are transmitted accurately and comprehensively. Furthermore, the complexity of business communication extends to the cultural and contextual factors that influence how messages are interpreted. An effective essay on this topic requires an exploration of cross-cultural communication challenges, acknowledging that what may be considered appropriate communication in one business context could be perceived differently in another. Moreover, the rapid evolution of technology poses an additional layer of complexity to the subject. Addressing the integration of digital communication tools, social media, and virtual collaboration platforms in the business environment is essential. Analyzing their impact on communication dynamics, organizational culture, and stakeholder relationships adds depth to the essay. In conclusion, writing an essay on business communication demands a comprehensive understanding of a multifaceted field. It necessitates not only a grasp of theoretical frameworks but also the ability to apply them to real-world scenarios. Successfully navigating through these complexities requires time, research, and a nuanced approach. Muhammad, A Biography Of Prophet Essay Muhammad, A Biography Of Prophet A short history about the world s fastest growing religion and of the man, who seeded the plant of Islamhimself, Muhammad (saw). Armstrong writes this book in a humanist style and introduces the reader to the cultural and historical background of the life of Mohammed and the revelation of the Quran. She first starts with the West s long history of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She has done her homework in compiling this book and it shows as she goes back and forth with the dates of different events. The book also shows maps in the beginning that help the reader to get a better idea of the geography of the area in the past times along with genealogical charts that give a clear picture of Muhammad s gene . It s a well written book for an intelligent person who wishes to be informed. The main idea or it can be called an argument that Armstrong put forth was to break the wrong image of the west about the Holy Prophet. She starts describing Muhammad s rising success as a skilled and respected politician; Armstrong mentions that the Christian world has always judged this part of the prophet s life with distrust. The Western view has traditionally seen Muhammad s political success as proof that he was an impostor using religion as a means to power. To explain this attitude, Armstrong offers the following insight: Because the Christian world is dominated by the image of the crucified Jesus, who said that his kingdom was not of this world, we tend to see failure and humiliation as the hallmark of a religious leader. We do not expect our spiritual heroes to achieve a dazzling success in mundane terms. (p. 164) Armstrong depicts Muhammad (saw) in glowing colors, even when she admits his wrongdoings. In the 8th chapter, Holy War , Armstrong recounts the massacre and summary executions of the

This book is one of John Green s most popular novels, leaving teens all around the world in lovewith this book, which was created into a movie two years after it was published on June 6, 2014, starring Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as Gus. At this time John Green had not yet written The Fault in Our Stars and was waiting for inspiration for his next book. John Green describes his first meeting at the Harry Potter Convention with Esther saying I was interrupted by a small voice saying: Are you John Green? I turned and saw a girl wearing a nasal cannula and a nearly identical girl her sister, I gathered holding an oxygen tank. Yeah, I said. Hi. (Green 6). After talking for a while John Green discovered that much like himself, she was a hard core nerdfighter. (Green 2). He then went on explaining that Nerdfighters are people who fight for nerds and celebrate intellectualism. (Green 10). Continuing, John said Esther wanted friendships that weren t defined and circumscribed by illness. Her physical disabilities made that difficult in real life, but on the internet, she wasn t Esther Earl Who Has Cancer And An Oxygen Tank. (Green 13). And that is exactly the kind of friendship that Esther and John had. At this time John had not realized that unfortunately, Esther was terminally
  • 4. The Defense Budget Should Increase Military Spending To spend or not to spend, that is the question. America is torn, not sure whether it should increase military spending or if it should considerably slash the budget. Advocates for a higher defense budget claim more spending will lead to a stronger, better trained military, which would in turn help secure our status as the superlative militarypower of the world. However, supporters of the defense budget cuts argue for a reduction in troop size, which they believe would save the country billions and allow the nation to focus those savings on next generation technology for protection. This argument has raged for decades with no solution in sight. Maybe we have been approaching this problem all wrong. Perhaps, instead of the shortsighted approach of either raise or lower the budget, we try a smarter, more efficient method of spending to ensure every dollar of our annual military budgetpositively impacts our national defense. The debate whether to raise or lower the defense budget has plagued this nation for generations with many sides expressing their viewpoints on the matter. Though there are no doubt countless points of views, two main camps come to the forefront: either rise or lower the budget. These two opposing camps are often broad enough to encompass most other ideas on the debate whether for or against it, leaving outliers little room at the proverbial table in which to make their case. Proponents for a fiscal increase range far and wide with perhaps the most
  • 5. German History Essay Most would agree that it is valuable to acknowledge history, whether it be through documentation, education, or architectural preservation. However, history can be complex and ugly, stained by war, genocide, and destruction. Therein lies a philosophical controversy: should these historical stains be acknowledged or buried? What role do these ugly histories have in the development of a society? Within the last century, no nation has been forced to confront these questions on the same scale that Germanyhas (Levinger 118). With a twentieth century historymarked by hatred and the abuse of power, National Socialism and Soviet communism, Germany s dark history lies only decades in the past. For this reason, these histories remain freshly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In essence, historic preservation roots collective memory in a physical, tangible space. To many scholars, memory in this context is not simply information that is recalled and retold (qtd. in Till 11). Instead, it is the act of continuously finding and contextualizing history by means of physical space. Preservation of historical architecture is therefore unique, as it juxtaposes this history and memory with the surrounding modern world. This highlights the importance of preserving history through architecture, rather than museums, textbooks, and archives alone. By preserving the physical remnants of a city s dark history, residents and passersby are forced to confront this history nondeliberately. Moreover, according to Rudy J. Koshar, a preserved site must maintain some present value or purpose. This is particularly relevant when considering the preservation of buildings or sites which represent a history that is controversial or shameful, as it is important to balance the shame evoked by this space with the benefits of its preservation. The task of historic preservation is especially challenging in nations such as Germany which have pasts that many are reluctant to remember. Germany is a particularly interesting case, as it is now recognized as one of the most progressive, economically powerful, and politically liberal countries in the world. Yet, no comparably modern country is

Hi, I m Joana from Caneças, I m 24 years old, and I m in the festival with the short film Beasts . How the atmosphere that surrounds us make us who we are? For us, this is the main theme in the film. The story itself is about a kid, Lucas, who urges to be a man, but that urge ends up tricking him since he hasn t the courage to become a man and involves himself with some characters that are the predators of that jungle in the film. Not having that courage he doesn t know how to manage all that. My inspirational film is A Prophet by Jacques Audiard. My inspirational film is also by Jacques Audiard, Rust and Bone . It came up from the eagerness of wanting to explore that space, those characters and the almost animalistic atmosphere. When I got in there I felt that everything was possible. There, everything is possible, and people can really be whoever they want to be. That space ends up transforming us, and the characters, and therefore it becomes also a character itself. An actor or actress who fit well in my movies? I would say Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron for all the reasons. An actor or actress who fit well in my movies? It could be Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence who is on the rise and in whom I believe. Two days before shooting we had a kid who gave up, leaving us without an actor for a period of time. Then, Guilherme came up. At that time, it was Rogério who
  • 7. Business Chain Of Command Or Hierarchical Structure Upward/downward communication occurs when information and messages are trickled through an organization or business chain of command or hierarchical structure (Grimsley, Study.com). An easier description of upward/downward communication is the concept of messages and commands starting from the upper levels of an organization or business which is then facilitated towards lower levels through smooth communicationfrom the employer or whoever is in charge. Advantages of having effective upward downward communication is organizational discipline, work efficiency, communication of goals and the ease of delegation (Grimsley, Study.com). Discipline is implemented due to the main emphasis of upward downward communication within the organization. Delegation of assignments and projects throughout the organization is done with ease; this represents the chain of command. Upward downward communication forces employees to work together while creating a competitive environment. The chain of command is represented through upward downward communication. In order to make your way to the top of the chain, it forces employees to hold a strong work ethic , while keeping in mind the best interest of the organization. Competition is healthy, the workforce teaches individuals to never have a sense of complacency or incompetence. If you can t do the job, then someone else will. When it specifically comes to downward communication the best interest of the company is in mind. Efficiency is offered due

So when my mom didn t have school and my brother had school together WE did homework. That became our time together, she didn t send me to school, she created school at the kitchen table. There was nothing uplifting or positive about slavery, and it was basically white people making black people, their slaves. The film is based on romance and mainly the scientific aspect to explore and flourish the nature of the human memory. The film was presented to the viewers in March 2004. The film is made closer to originality, something like troubling memories forgotten by the mind of the person but still it is some where in memory. Sometimes we are concentrated on everlasting thoughts in our minds when we are alone and making assumptions about matter, the film is based on such phenomenon and is a great piece of art. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a movie primarily about two lovers namely Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski. Joel, wakes up on Valentine s Day, skips work, takes a train to Montauk, and meets Clementine. This event caused a chain reaction of events to occur. After this happened the pressure from the outside acclimated with the cargo bay which caused there to be too much of a pressure differential between the cargo bay and the cabin. This caused the floor of the cabin to collapse, which then broke all three of the control cables. With all the cables torn and broken the pilot lost control of the plane. The plane then crashed and caused everyone on board to die. The overall crash of the DC 10 could have been avoided had specific points of failure throughout the plane been fixed by an

When he spends time with Adam, he sees that he acts very rude and starts fooling around on the bridge. With that being said, you would think colleges would want on campus living to be the best it can be for college students, so more students will want to live in the residence halls, compared to off campus? Paige Herald and Daily Fieldsted found that one of the big reasons for this is the support system students receive when living in residence halls. I personally agree with this due to the amount of support I get from my hall. There may be the occasional drama, but so many girls still support you 110% no matter if it is your personal issues you are dealing with, or your school work. Students do not decide to live off campus just because they do not like the residence halls, but sometime for financial reasons, and for the ability to have more privacy and responsibility. There are so many pros and cons that Megan Heynen found between living on and off campus. Motives for Imperialism The conquest of Africa began in 1881 when the king of Belgium sent Henry Morton Stanley to obtain treaties with the local chiefs to create an imperialized colony triggering various European nations to follow in the same footsteps. In the Berlin Conference, the major European nations organized a meeting to split the Africa into colonies amoungst themselves for economic and political purposes and United States saw themselves falling behind the imperialist era. Controversy struck over deciding the status of the Philippines since imperialism could possibly open doors for new markets and trade possibilities benefiting the economy. According to McKinley, Filipinos were unfit for self government and they would eventually lead into anarchy and misrule resulting the development of the peace treaty to seize the islands. McKinley believed the Filipinos needed to be educated and uplifted meaning they needed to be Christianized which McKinley used as an excuse to annex the Philippines. Suggestions rose to give back the island to Spain or give it to one of the imperial powers but

The Thoughtless Themes In Chesterton s Hammer Of God When Wilfred thought he was in the clear for not being blamed as the criminal, he was almost trembling with the excitement of his own glimpse of the truth (Chesterton 9). He believed that people would be evinced by his disguised sins for blaming others for actions they did not part take in. While Wilfred isolated himself from others, he was participating in a crime on one he should love. In Chesterton s Hammer of God, foreshadowing, setting, and characterdevelopment create the theme that selfishness hides truth. In speaking with Wilfred, Father Brown explains that men who prayed on hills and high crags, and learnt to look down on the world more than to look up at heaven (Chesterton 13). Father Brown tells this to the Wilfred, hoping that the Protestant curate will make the connection with his own spiritual pride in looking down spiritually on his wild brother. The location of the church is at the top of the hill and overlooks the whole town. Wilfred uses the church to isolate himself from the others, while he claims to go to church for prayer. He then uses the top of the steeple to watch over the town, and in his selfish advantage he drops the hammer from such a far distance onto his brother Norman, causing a large blow due to gravity. The visual perspective from the sky high church upon the insects symbolizes the spiritual one that makes the murder possible. When one ceases to think of sinners as humans, murder becomes more simple for one to cease to exist. Along with setting, Chesterton also emphasizes character development to maintain the theme avoidance of the truth. At age sixteen, he was literally abandoned by his family, an event which would shape the course of his life and writings in the years to come. Flash memory has been and will continue to take advantage of Moore s Law as performance and cost per bit increases in the years to come. Its competitor, the HDD is still widely used thanks to its cheap cost and high capacity. In the next 5 10 years, it s a guarantee that both these technologies will continue to improve. Hard Disks Developments in hard disks can be seen in technologies the likes of SMR (mentioned above) which Seagate revealed at the end of 2014 with the launch of an 8TB disk. Success of SMR will give rise to the adoption of another technique known as Two Dimensional Magnetic Recording (TMDR) signal processing. Because tracks are so thin/close together, the read head tends to pick up noise and signals from neighboring tracks whilst retrieving data. To tackle this problem, multiple heads are used to read portions of multiple tracks simultaneously. The drive then subtracts the inter track interference signals. Another contender for hard disk improvement is the Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR). HAMR uses laser strapped drive heads. The lasers heat up the track right before the data is recorded. The heated tracks produce smaller, more precisely magnetized areas with less interference between

Therefore Hume argues that beauty is not the actual quality of things by themselves but it is an assumption. Beauty therefore exists in a person s mind that always tends to think about it. Therefore different people with different minds tend to identify a different type of beauty compared to another person s mind. He also argues that one person might not be able to see beauty where another person is seeing beauty. Therefore each and every person has his own opinions about beauty and ideas, thus no one can be able to think of beauty according to the way another one thinks of beauty. Therefore Hume argues that beauty can only be thoughtby a person and therefore different people will always have different thoughts about beauty. Hume therefore points out that beauty is not real but it is what a person thinks it actually is according to his or her own way of thinking. Consequently beauty cannot be the same in different

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are difficulties in the study of this topic. The first one is the view of the historiography. Many economist and historians have considered Africa to be underdeveloped even before the colonialism period, which recent studies have proved to be wrong. Africa had a well developed economic system, where the monetization of the economy had created a class society . There needs to be more investigation about this topic, which hopefully will bring some light to this interesting period in time. Secondly, the lack of primary sources is another obstacle to the study of this topic, many of the ones available are biased because they are from a European perspective. However, it is possible to find other material in archaeology, documents and oral stories. Thirdly, the continent of Africa is huge, and in its study, we should try to avoid generalizations, because it erases the particularities of each territory. Therefore, as said, we are going to focus on West and Central Africa, so the study will be more focused and specific. There were many different types of currency in precolonial Africa. Among them the most used ones were cowries, copper, cloth, slaves, gold, silver and salt. Different areas preferred different kinds of currency, however, their value was recognized in all West Africa. The multiplicity of currency indicates a lack of centralization, as well as many connections between zones. One important characteristic

It is an important factor in science because it can lead to new discoveries for cures or diseases. The impulse is then sent to another neuron, and the process repeats until the nerves are at rest. The effect of the signals depends on what the target is. If the target of the signal is a muscle cell, the effect might be a muscle contraction. The speed of the electrical impulse depends on the size of the nerve fiber. In small nerves, the rate it transmits impulses is from a half to two meters a second. The larger the diameter of the nerve fiber, the higher rate of conducting impulses. There is less electrical resistance in thick fibers. When nerve impulse jumps from one node (gaps in nerve fibers) to the next, it is called saltatory conduction. Saltatory conduction conducts faster because it contains an insulator that prevents leakage of currents. The rate of conduction is 2 to 120 meters a second. Not all nerves conduct impulse electrochemically. Some impulses jump from nerve to nerve, bypassing the synapse. Unlike other cells, once neurons are lost, they can t be regenerated. Fortunately, there are about 10 billion neurons and they have other cells to aid them in carrying messages to other nerves. But if nerves are severed, the nerve fibers can regenerate if the two ends are reattached precisely. However, restored functions may produce different actions because the nerves might not be connected to the right channel. There are three main parts of the nervous system: the central, peripheral, and autonomic
