Diversity In Education Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of diversity in education can be both challenging and rewarding.
On one hand, there is a vast amount of information and perspectives to consider, ranging from
the historical context of diversity in educational settings to its modern implications and
challenges. Additionally, navigating the sensitive nature of the topic requires a nuanced approach
to ensure inclusivity and respect for diverse viewpoints.
Researching this topic can be time-consuming as it involves delving into various disciplines such
as sociology, psychology, education theory, and cultural studies. Understanding the complex
interplay between factors like race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation,
and ability within educational contexts requires a thorough examination of scholarly literature
and empirical studies.
Furthermore, crafting a cohesive argument that addresses the multifaceted nature of diversity in
education while maintaining clarity and coherence can be a daunting task. Balancing the need for
statistical evidence with personal anecdotes or case studies to illustrate key points adds another
layer of complexity to the writing process.
Moreover, discussing controversial issues related to diversity in education may require careful
consideration of language and framing to avoid inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or biases.
Engaging in critical analysis while remaining sensitive to the experiences and perspectives of
marginalized groups is essential but can be challenging to navigate effectively.
In conclusion, writing an essay on diversity in education demands a significant investment of
time, effort, and empathy. However, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful discourse and
promote inclusivity within educational environments makes the endeavor worthwhile.

Jacob Negligence Case
ABSTRACT This paper is about the Case of Jacob and his diseased leg. Clinical
negligence is one the main causes that led to the infection of Jacobs s leg. It later
resulted in his life being altered due to the fact that it prolonged his healing process
because of a mistake that his own physician had made. The key component of
integrity and honesty wasn t exercised in this situation because of the lack of
maintaining high moral and ethical conducts when treating Jacob. Due to this
negligence, the consequences will be affected by both parties in which will result in
taking it to the next level by taking Dr. M to court. This case should be treated as a
civil action law suit because a wrongful act was committed. The use of clinical
protocols helps healthcare professionals establish appropriate treatments and care for
the patients.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
M was taking a look at his leg that was injured but seemed to be healing. All was
thought to be well until one office visit the doctor went across the hall to check on
another patient who seemed to have an infected leg. The doctor left the door open
where confidentiality here was obviously not being taking into consideration for
the patient he was seeing as well as others who were able to hear them. Since the
door was open, his parents noticed that he did not change his gloves while entering
that other room and came back to check on their son with no gloves on. Dr. M was
concerned about Jacobs leg and told him to come back the following week while
treating it with antibiotics. The following week he comes back only to see that he
has developed osteomyelitis. This was the same infection that the other patient
developed while under the care of his supervision. Jacobs delay in his recover cost
him the opportunity to play football and a college scholarship. Jacobs s parents then
resorted to suing Dr. M because of his negligence and lack of medical
The Pearl Character Analysis
Would A Pearl Change Your LIFE To BE HARD As A MACHINE,Crazy As An
ANIMAL,OR Would You Continue Your Life As Normal? The Pearl written by
John Steinbeck tells a rampageous story of a person who has found The Pearl Of
The World and which it changes him throughout the story which can make him
different. What can make him different are these 3 things which are a man, a
machine and a animal. These three descriptions talk about Kino who changes
throughout the story. As the story starts Kino is a man and as he ends he is a
machine. The definition of Man is that he takes care of his family and would do
anything for his family. In the book the Pearl it tells on page 27 us that Kino is a
brave man, and a fierce man;he is right. From his courage we may all profit. These
were proud of Kino. This quote states that Kino is brave and would do anything
good for his family and people see him as a brave fierce man and that they would
profit good from him. The second quote states on page 9 Hooked his foot in the
loop on his rock and his worked quickly, tearing the oysters loose, some singly,
others in clusters. This quote means that he worked very hard for searching a pearl
to save his son Coyotito who has been stung by a scorpion because he does not
have enough money to pay for the doctor. The third quote says on page 7 He looked
down in wonder at his knuckles and at the blood that flowed down between his
fingers This quote states that Kino was mad at the doctor because he would not
Guy Fawkes Rebellion
ESSAY ON GUY FAWKES
INTRODUCTION
There are many facts about Guy Fawkes that people actually have many
misconceptions of him such as...
QUESTIONS
Was Guy Fawkes a rebel or a hero?
Guy Fawkes was notoriously known for being a rebel to the protestant king or was
he the last hope of the catholic faith?
Being one of the very few Catholics left in England after King James I who was a
protestant had claimed the throne. He had then demanded that all of people of the
Catholic faith be eradicated from England. Although several men had decided to
revolute against the newly introduced kings order. Guy Fawkes had begun to organise
a small group of Catholics willing to assassinate the king and complete their devised
plot. Their intent for this mission was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Does Kurtz Justify The Rule Of War
In the twentieth century alone over 108 million people have lost their lives due to
war. This does not include only soldiers and those who set out to risk their lives, but
civilians and children too. In the movie Apocalypse Now, the film follows the voyage
of veteran Benjamin L. Willard and his mission to terminate the noted and recently
turned insane Colonel, Walter E. Kurtz. In the backdrop of this mission is the
Vietnam War and throughout the movie there is clips of savagery and barbaric
actions shown by the the Vietnam and American soldiers and even the Vietnam
civilians. When Willard arrives at Kurtz s outpost, he is introduced to the civilization
in Cambodia that Kurtz has become a god too. Kurtz rejects the undefined Rule of
War that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Rule of War is a hypocritical way of trying to justify these barbaric actions that
come out of war and Kurtz pokes fun at that. He knows that these actions are
needed to succeed in war and believes that they are justified because a soldier is a
job rather than a person and separating oneself from the job is how you win. In my
opinion Kurtz is correct, these types of soldiers would be beneficial to any Army
and separating humanity from such brutal task is the best method to survive as a
soldier. There are countless occurrences in history where nations have agreed with
Kurtz and did actions that are qualified as unethical. In the final months of World
War II, allied forces bombed the controversial city of Dresden. Between 35,000 to
135,000 people were pronounced dead and the city of Dresden was basically leveled.
Due to the fact that Dresden is not a major industrial center for Germany s wartime
production, many question if destroying a city and killing thousands of civilians was
necessary. To the allies though this was justified, claiming that this attack disrupted
communication lines for Soviet offense and terrorized the German population to the
point of surrendering. To debate whether this was amoral is not the point though, this
aided in ending the war and to some that is enough justification. This is why war can
never be ethical, because to win a war nations will do whatever possible to win, which
they should, but these inhumane actions lead to self destruction of cities and the
murder of millions of innocent
Supervision and Management
INTRODUCTION In earlier days, the supervisor was the person in charge of a
group of towrope pullers or ditch diggers. That person was literally the fore man,
since he was up forward of the work crew. His authority consisted mainly of
chanting the one, two, three, up that set the pace for the rest of the workers. In
Germany, the supervisor is still called a vorarbeiter ( fore worker ); in England, the
term charge hand is used. Both terms suggest the lead person origin. The term
supervisor has its roots in Latin, where it means looks over. It was originally
applied to the master of a group of artisans. Today, the supervisor s job combines
some of the talents of the foreman (or leader) and those of the master (skilled... Show

Against Legalizing Marijuana
Those against the idea of legalizing marijuana have several strong and convincing
arguments. Such as, abusing marijuana may lead people to indulge in other hard
drugs. They assert that tobacco and liquor already cause enough damages to the
human body and it is unnecessary to enhance that damage by adding another drug in
with the general mix. In addition, one of many claims is that marijuana leads to
poverty, wrongdoing, and brutality. First of all it is essential to comprehend the
impacts of marijuana use and its history. At the point when smoking cannabisTHC is

The core of this report focuses on one of the typical tactics deployed the underbidding
of contracts to outbid other contractors, the ethical ramifications of utilizing this
particular tactic and possible viable solutions to doing away with this practice. 1.2
Social Context The underbidding of contracts to outbid other competing contractors
is an open secret amongst contractors at least to the knowledge of the experienced
and high ranking contracting firms. This practice usually stems from the detection of
flaws in construction designs, drawings, outlines and cost estimates. Contractors
wielding intelligence about the make up of such poorly structured projects move to
profit on these flaws by first underbidding on the contracts to be awarded it then
decide to include additional costs to the project via change orders later on in the
project. This practice may also be due to the socially regarded norm on cost
effectiveness. Outsourcing corporations and governments often tend to confuse cost
effectiveness for pragmatism and thus may usually be inclined to award contracts to
the lowest bidding contractor. Contractors then move to exploit this chance by
requesting change orders which in most cases may not be necessary thus bulking on
their profits. This practice would arguably be much more rampant in government
awarded contracts mainly due to bureaucracy and the lack of critical cost
Three Kings Day Short Story
The air rang with laughter and the festive sounds of families celebrating the eve of

Leonardo Da Vinci And The Last Supper

8/2/15
Leonardo Da Vinci is most famous for the Mona Lisa and his countless inventions.
He was many things, an inventor, an artist and a scientist. Here, we are going to
mostly talk about his artist side(Although, personally i would rather write about his
inventor side) His two most commonly known paintings were Mona Lisa and The
Last Supper . Two wonderful pieces of art by an amazing artist. he was born on
April 15 1452 in Vinci, Italy, died May 2 1519. He heavily influenced the
renaissance era and is still influencing us today.
At an early age, Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence, where he apprenticed with the
painter and sculptor Verrochio. Da Vinci s brilliance was obvious even at this
early stage in his life. He often experimented with different artistic forms and
techniques. Being surrounded by Italian art, he often used oils in his paintings .
His work sparked a new style of art in Italy. In 1481, at the age of 30, da Vinci
moved to Milan to work for the Duke of Milan. Although relatively few of da Vinci
s paintings and sculptures survive, two of his extant works are among the world s
most well known and admired paintings. The first is da Vinci s The Last Supper,
painted during his time in Milan, from about 1495 to 1498. A oil mural on plaster,
The Last Supper was created for the city s Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
Also known as The Cenacle, this work measures about 15 by 29 feet and is the artist

Emerson Electric Industry
IV. ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENT
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
Emerson Electric is in the electrical manufacturer industry. Companies in this industry
manufacture electrical equipment, appliances, and electrical components. The major
products includes household appliances, communication and energy wire and cable,
batteries, lighting equipment, industrial controls, motors and generators, switchgear
and switchboard equipment, wiring devices, and transformers(Electrical Products
Manufacturing). The industry made $42.6 billion in revenue in 2015 (Isakowitz, 4).

ECONOMIC TRENDS Advancements in technology strongly drive the demand
for electrical products. US corporate profits, an indicator of corporate demand for
electrical products, rose 3.7 percent in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the
same period in 2014 (Electrical Products Manufacturing). US personal income has
also risen, which increases demand for electrical products. As a result of the
personal income elevation, demand for electrical products rose 6.4% in May of
2015 (Electrical Products Manufacturing). Revenue in the industry is projected to
increase at an average annual rate of 1/7% over the next five years.
Domestic manufacturers in the US have lost market share to imports, which
increased from 45.8% of domestic demand in 2010 to 50.8% in 2015 (Isakowitz, 8),
The penetration of imports is in part because of the low labor costs provided by
offshoring. Increased production costs have

Throughout the ages art has played an important part in shaping societies and the
ideals of them as a whole. But what you may not of realized or thought about is that
powerful art pieces and the context of them can actually create an image of strength
and act as a deterrent from outside countries and foes. Looking back on the high
Renaissancein Florence, a time in which religious devotion was the central focus of
the people and unrest and civil disorder were commonplace. Two differing sculptures
of David were commissioned and sculpted, one by Andrea di Michele Cioni
nicknamed Verrocchio meaning true eye in the late 1400s and the other by
Michelangeloin the early 1500s. Both pieces were commissioned because of Florence

And looking at Florence today it definitely lives up to that expectation of being
small but mighty, being one of the most populated areas in Tuscany. But back then
in the late 14th and early 15th century, they were not very substantial in numbers.
They Probably numbered no more than 15,000 during the 15th century and would
have surely fallen if attacked in an all out war, so they had to rely on other tactics.
This is in my opinion where the idea of not only finding hope in David and his
similarities to that of Florence came into play, but also the idea of creating an
image that Florence though small like David can defeat the greatest of enemies
with the help of God. It kind of reminds of the idea of using brains over brawns,
instead in this case just avoiding the fight altogether by creating the sort of image
that Florence like David can overcome the greatest of hardships. David was to the
people of Florence at the time a symbol of hope and perseverance and acted as a
deterrent to those potential Goliaths . The small city state had little means of
fending off an army and as a major art Center it didn t really have a reputation for
being all that powerful or having any sort of exceptional military. The Davids of
Florence may have changed this acting as a
Big Bang Theory Or A Big Fabrication

Big Bang Theory or a Big Fabrication The concept of creation has boggled human s
minds for centuries. Human nature has an intuitive sense of longing for an answer to
solve the unknown, and creation embodies the concept of unknown. In an effort to
compile reason and scientific knowledge, an explanation of the formation of the
universe was formed and is widely known as The Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang
Theory is considered, ...the leading scientific explanation for the formation of the
universe (Howell). The Big Bang Theory articulates that before this event there was
nothing; and after it there was something. This suggestion to how the universe was
created was originally born from the sighting that the surrounding galaxies are
moving away from our own at an immense speed as if they had been propelled by
some force (Howell). The standard theory states that the entire universe originated as
a condensed, infinitely pressured, singularity, which defies the laws of today s
understanding of physics. It is a misconception this event occurred as an explosion;
rather it resembled more of an expansion. At one moment there was nothing in
existence and in the following, the universe expanded as a balloon would, from a sub
atomic particle, to all that it is today. This notion of how the universe was created, is
nothing more than a shot into the dark, literally, and holds no validity. At this exact
moment there are roughly 100,000
The Influence Of Television In Television
Television is a platform in which nowadays everyone has some type of interaction
with. With television people are exposed to movies, shows, news, cartoons, music,
etc. In today s society television has become the main source of information, but
most people view television as a means for entertainment (Mitu, 2011). For some
people television might be the first platform where they are exposed to a new
subject. This exposure might leave its viewers with positive or negative feelings
towards a subject. According to Mitu (2011) television has the power to influence or
change people s attitudes, behaviors, and feelings towards a certain subject. A topic
that is portrayed in television is disability, the screen provides its audience with a
unique point of view. Examples of disabilities reflected on television can be seen on
movies such as The Hunchback of Notre Damereleased in 1996, At First Sight
(1999), and the TV show The Good Doctor aired in 2017. These movies are
representation of how various disabilities are portrayed through the screen and the
way in which people react to and deal with the differences that these people
experience. The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie tells the story of Quasimodoa
deformed man who also has a hunchback, and since he was a baby he has spent his
life away from society. Quasimodo is afraid of how people will react when they see
him. Frollo the person responsible of taking care of Quasimodo has made him
believe that he is ugly and deformed. In
Spotify Impact
Streaming has had a massive impact on the the music industry within the last few
years. One of the most well known impacts for the music industry, was the launch
of Spotify in 2008, which has changed the way people listen to music ever since. It
has been argued that Spotify do not pay out fairly to artists but this can also be
argued to be due to bad contract deals with record companies. There are many
recognizable examples of why mainstream artists are against musicstreaming, Lady
Gaga claimed she only earned ВЈ108 from one million listens in 2010. Spotify is a
legal service and pays to license songs from all major record labels and although
Spotify pays royalties for all the listening that occurs on their service, they distribute
nearly 70% of revenues back to the right holders, such as; publishers, distributors and
the independent artists themselves. Therefore, as reported by the Independent

As explained by Spotify officials, they work around the basis that the more users
they get, the more money they can pay out (Knopper, 2014). Along with Spotify
there are many more streaming sites, such as Tidal and Apple Music. Most
recently, singer Adele has not allowed her latest album 25 available on many
streaming services but it is still expected to be the best selling album of the year.
Adele stated she would have allowed streaming services to the new album, if it was
restricted to pay but Apple refused to do this. It can be debated that mainstream
artists are restricting their music being put on streaming sites due to business or just
taking a stand. By artists not streaming their music, sites such as iTunes have a rise
on their digital sales. Any retailer prefers this as it is Encouraging more people to

Prince Klemens von Metternich and Prince Otto von
Bismarck...
Prince Klemens von Metternich and Prince Otto von Bismarck can be compared to
the dual sides of a Deutsche Mark, a Deutsche Mark that has sported different faces
when repeatedly tossed over the years. After 1871, the Prussian friendly German
historians hailed Bismarck as the national hero who had united Germanywhile
Metternich was deemed a failure. Then after the loss of the two world wars, the
coin was again flipped, and Bismarck was seen as a bloodthirsty power monger
while Metternich still carried the stigma of a failure. The events that lead to the
diverse opinion of these two men were their characters, ideological backgrounds,
goals, the means by which they reached their goals, their achievements and lastly,

Metternich s character can be summed in his 1819 memoirs: I am always above and
beyond the preoccupations of most public men... I cannot help myself from saying
about twenty times a day: how right I am and how wrong they are, demonstrating the
arrogance of his class (Pelling). Metternich was an opportunist and conservative,
much like Bismarck, and they both hated the idea of revolution. Metternich wanted
Austria to dominate the German Confederation and influence the rest of Europe but
he was against a unified Germany because the Habsburg Empire did not embrace a
single people speaking one language, but many people s speaking different languages.
Metternich was anti nationalist and he was against student organization. His Carlsbad
Decrees in 1819 dissolved the Burschenschaften, and he opposed a representative
government.
Prince Otto von Bismarck was seen as both a political genius and a power monger,
like a Prussian version of Alexander the Great by the people. Bismarck was a
conservative, who used the people around him to reach his goals; and in doing so, he
pitted people against one another. According to the book 19th Century Germany:
Politics, Culture and Society 1780 1918 by John Breuilly, modern historians have
found it very hard to separate the man from his achievements (Breuilly 172). The
historians have run into a roadblock that consists mostly of
Essay about Julius Caesar
Mark Antony, in the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, was a brave, intelligent,
pleasure loving, and cunning man. He was loyal to his friend, Caesar, whom he
considered a true friend. He looked at life as a game in which he had a signified part
to play, and played that part with excellent refinement and skill.
Antony was devoted and preferred to be dependent upon Julius Caesar since he
rather have enjoyed life than to claim the highest position in the government. He
wanted the crown to be given to Caesar so that all conflicts could be avoided.
However, this additional power contributed to the conspirator s motive to assassinate
him. Antony was distraught with Caesar s death and sought revenge first by speaking

However, he felt his duty was to carry on Caesar s reign and clear his name.
Therefore he joined the Second Triumvirate and became a great leader.
Antony was looked down upon by all the conspirators except for Brutus. They
wanted to kill Antony as well as Caesar because they feared that he would become
as powerful as him and possibly a dictator. Brutus persuaded the others not to add
to the assassination by saying, quot; And for Mark Antony, think not of him: for he
can do no more than Caesar s arm when Caesar s head is off quot;(2.1.181 183).
Brutus underestimated Antony and perceived him as a person who didn t always
take life seriously, couldn t have a serious nature and therefore, not a thinker. Brutus
continued to argue with Cassius who did not believe him. quot;Alas, good Cassius,
do not think of him. If he love Caesar, all that he can do is to himself take thought
and die for Caesar. And that were much he should, for he is given to sports, to
wildness, and much company (2.1.185 189). Brutus judged him as being frivolous,
and simply liking sport and partying, with a reputation for womanizing.
Unfortunately for Brutus and the conspirators he was respected by Caesar and so
simply couldn t be ignored.
Caesar respected Antony, and his way of life. He defended him when he said,
quot;See! Antony, that revels (makes merry) long a nights, is notwithstanding
(however) up. Good morrow, Antony quot; (2.4.116 117).
The Importance Of Nation-State Policy
Along with the twenty first century tagged an interconnected and globalized world,
consociated by instantaneous worldwide communication and the free dissemination
of information. With this new era of technology, economic policies of nation states
have become so interdependent that most nation state economies would be crippled
without their respective international trading partners. As such, one may wonder if an
introspective national policy is appropriate, as argued for by the source. For example,
one may contend that international cooperation inevitably results in unequitable
compromise, with the more powerful nation states forcing developing countries into
partisan trade deals. This argument, however, does not take into account the... Show

Furthermore, by stating that individuals, in general, do not appreciate others telling

nation state understands its own eccentricities best, and that others cannot empathize
because they simply do not have such resources, such as seals. A nation state that
chooses to remain isolated from the world suffers technologically. A prominent
example of the detrimental effects of isolationism and the beneficial effects of
international trade can be observed through the period and abolition of Sakoku, better
known as the isolationist foreign policy of Japan. During isolation, the Japanese were
only scarcely aware of the technological advances in Western technology. As such,
when U.S. Commodore Matthew Perry s black ships arrived, the Japanese were
shocked at just how advanced the technology was, especially in shipbuilding and
weaponry. Rather than closing off its borders and potentially suffering the same fate
as China, the Meiji government decided to rapidly Westernize the nation, in terms of
technology and in things like clothing and eating habits, in an attempt to convince the
Western powers that the Japanese were their equals. By the time the Meiji rule
concluded, Japan had a highly educated population and an established and rapidly

Television In the Lives of Children Essay
Television In The Lives Of Children
Consistently, everywhere, in this century there seems to be some form of a TV
screen. These screens appear in restaurants, schools, at work, at home, and quite
possibly more. What is forgotten in society is how that screen may affect the lives of
the children in this modern world. When children are constantly watching a television
screen there may be consequences to their health and education. Most parents do not
have the ability to control what is shown on TV. Many programs disagreeably
display marathons after school and during holidays. Supposedly, adult shows are only
showed late at night, but with movies becoming more and more explicit, even bed
time can t stop the most determined child. Children s ... Show more content on

Violence on the television can also be affecting children s health. Injuries are the
leading cause of death in children, and watching unsafe behavior on TV may increase
children s risk taking behavior. (Boyse Online). So, when watching Americas
Funniest Home Videos make sure to monitor every minor in the house (that may be
their next idea of a fun game).
Violence on television can also be damaging to a child s reaction to the world Kids
who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear
that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them. (Gavin Online).
When young children see these explicit scenes of violence on screen at that age,
most cannot tell the difference from reality so, in the child s mind these bad thing
could befall them. Violence occurs so much on shows and movies, some violent
acts that happen in life are unnoticed The average American child will witness
200,000 violent acts on television by age 18. Kids may become desensitized to
violence and more aggressive. (Gavin Online). It s important to teach the kids
between right and wrong, but this becomes difficult when children are constantly
surrounded by television, Even though kids are taught by their parents that it s not
right to hit, television says it s OK to bite, hit, or kick if you re the good guy. This
can lead to confusion when kids try to understand the difference
Grignard Synthesis of Triphenylmethanol Lab Report Essay
The Grignard Synthesis of Triphenylmethanol Organic Chemistry Lab II March 19,
2012 Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to synthesize the Grignard reagent,
phenyl magnesium bromide, and then use the manufactured Grignard reagent to
synthesize the alcohol, triphenylmethanol, by reacting with benzophenone and
protonation by H3O+. The triphenylmethanol was purified by recrystallization. The
melting point, Infrared Spectroscopy, 13C NMR, and 1H NMR were used to
characterize and confirm the recrystallized substance was triphenylmethanol.
Introduction A Grignard reagent is a type of organometallic, which consists of a
bond between a metal and a carbon. There are three types of carbon metal bonds:
ionic, polar covalent, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grignard reagents also react with the least hindered carbon on an epoxide to break
the ring in order to relieve ring strain. A reaction of the Grignard reagent and
carbon dioxide results in an acid, and reaction of a nitrile and a Grignard reagent
produce a carbonyl via an imine intermediate. These are show below, respectively.
Grignard reagents are reactive enough to also attach esters; however, two
equivalents of the Grignard reagent are usually added because less then two
equivalents leave a large quantity of unreactive ester. This reaction forms a tertiary
alcohol. Grignard reagents cannot be synthesized from alcohols because instead of
reacting with the halide to form the Grignard reagent, the alcohol is deprotenated.
Grignard reagents also cannot be synthesized from molecules with a carbonyl
group. Solvent choice is important in Grignard reagent formation. The solvent must
be non reactive with a negatively charged carbon (ex. acetone or anything even
slightly acidic), and the solvent cannot have a carbonyl group. The solvent must be
a volatile solvent that provides a blanket of solvent over the reaction solution so that
oxygen and moisture in the air are excluded from the reaction. Oxygen and moisture
in the air are very slightly acidic and would disrupt the synthesis of a Grignard
reagent. Anhydrous ether (R2O) is often used as a solvent in creating Grignard
reagents because it keeps out water and oxygen, makes the

Persuasive Essay About Water Bottles
Water bottles have not always been around and ever since their popularity began
the debate over whether or not people should have them has been a controversial
topic. Some argue that they not only create unneeded pollution, but are also
unnecessary since tap water is available. While some say this, others will counter
by discussing the benefits of having a healthy option for a drink on the go. Using
water bottles is a means to help people have easier access to a healthy vital life
necessity no matter where someone might be. First, some people that do not believe
in the use of water bottles would look at one that has one and be absolutely
disgusted, but what is all the fuss about? To begin there has been studies that reveal

This may be a good idea, but the reality of the situation is that most people would not
take the money that was spent on water and give it to charity; instead, they would use
it to buy something else that they want. For this reason and so many more, getting rid
of the bottled water industry is simply not the answer. Creating foundations and
proceeds from buying certain products is a better option to ensure that developing
countries are getting the help they need while still being able to keep bottled water
on the shelf for purchase; for example for each case of water purchased a portion of
the money will go towards helping to get clean water to certain countries. Overall,
the good outweighs the bad when it comes to discussing the need of water bottles,
and by using them people can always have an important life necessity; hopefully in
the future when people purchase any brand of water they can feel that they are doing
good for countries by knowing that some of the cost went towards helping others
receive not only water but essentially a better
The Who Counterculture
The British invasion was responsible for internationalizing rock and roll, and has
managed to influence musical artists to this day. This musical movement of the mid
1960 s was composed of British groups combining the rebellious tone and image of
American music, with their own British style. I believe this music pushed free speech
to new heights in America. Music of this time period was revolutionary and
expressive, and transports me to an inspiring generation that existed before my time.

the song alternate between four simple chords. The lyrics are repetitive and simple
and often connect with Richards significant guitar moments. The texture is
homophonic with background vocalists and instruments accompanying the lead

Freeman And Martin Shkreli
The primary sense of the term [business ethics] refers to recent developments and to
the period, since roughly the early 1070s, when the term came into common use in
the United States (George, Web). This means that business ethics has become a huge
deal over the last recent years. Additionally, Martin Shkreli acted unethically when
he raises the price of a useful drug to certain people who needed it to survive. One
person that would argue that Shkreli was acting unethical is R. Edward Freeman.
A website in the internet informs that Martin Shkreli was born to Albanian and
Croatians immigrates, and he grew up with two sisters and a brother. Moving one, the

Edward Freeman would believe just the opposite. Freeman believes the opposite of
Friedman. Freeman argues the opposite by stating that the basic idea is that
businesses, and the executives who manage them, actually do and should create value
for customers, suppliers, employees, communities, and financiers [or shareholders]
(Freeman, 39). This passage suggest that Freeman believes in the stakeholder theory,
and that a stakeholder can be anyone: an employee, a customer, the community, etc.
Freeman counter argument to Friedman is that Shkreli forgot the most important
rule in modern business, The customer is always right. Friedman theory might
have been ethical to use in the old days, but in recent years a business being ethical
includes taking it customers opinion into account. Friedman fail to realize that
workers and employees play a huge role in business making profit. Additionally,
the web states that For decades, there wasn t any competition to Daraprim for the
simple reason that there wasn t much money to made selling it (McLean, Web).
This is yet another prove that Shkreli didn t had a reason to raise its price. Because
they have no competition, then they didn t have a reason to raise it price. He
acquired the U.S. rights to a lifesaving drug and promptly boosted its price over
5,000 percent (Mclean, Web). All things consider, it is understandable that the drug
cost money to make, but raising the price to 5000% is outrageously high. For this
reason, I believe that if he would have just double the price, it would have been such
a huge deal/unethical. Moving one, in Freedman s eye Shkreli failed to take his
customers into account, and what is worst he hasn t apologized to its customers.
Overall customers have become extremely important to a business, and if you failed
to put customers first the business will not be
Misleading Interpretations of Conrad s Heart of Darkness...
Misleading Interpretations of Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Chinua Achebe, a well known writer, once gave a lecture at the University of
Massachusetts about Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, entitled An Image of
Africa: Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness. Throughout his essay, Achebe notes
how Conrad used Africa as a background only, and how he set Africa up as a foil to
Europe, (Achebe, p.251) while he also projects the image of Africa as the other
world, the antithesis of Europe and therefore of civilization. (Achebe, p.252) By his
own interpretations of the text, Achebe shows that Conrad eliminates the African as a
human factor, thereby reducing Africa to the role of props. (Achebe, p.257)

284) In comparing the two views, one must step back and consider that both views
are only interpretations on what Conrad may have intended. Since no one can ever
really know what his actual meanings were for these two women being so similar
(in their movements), and yet so different (in their character), only individual
explanation can be brought up. This in particular, is what brings me to question
both Achebe and Sarvan s points. By reorganizing Conrad s descriptive words,
Sarvan was able to propose that Conrad did not intend for the mistress to be
perceived as the savage counterpart. (Achebe, p. 255) Yet, at the same time, both
Sarvan and Achebe each write about what they think to be the right thing. It seems to
me that Achebe was looking for racism in this short novel, and that Sarvan was so
taken back by Achebe s accusations, that he himself, went and looked for ways to
defend Conrad.
However, this particular shortcoming of the native woman, is not the only one that
Achebe finds. As stated earlier, communication is very important in our society and
to civilization (as known by the Europeans of the time). While reading Heart of
Darkness, I noticed a significant difference in the levels of communication that were
allotted between the Europeans and the Africans. This drastic difference in speech
was at the core

A Model Transformation Approach For Mobile Application
Nowadays, there is no stable model transformation approach for mobile application.
Model transformation is one of the prominent features and the rising research area
of Model Driven Engineering (MDE). There is still gap between software designer
and developer because of the heavyweight of graphical modeling language like
Unified Modeling Language(UML). The textual modeling language attempts to fill
the gap between modeling and implementing in the development lifecycle. The
proposed research work intends to transform text based model oriented program to
mobile application. UML Programming Language (Umple) uses the concept of
textual modeling as a technique to reduce differences between the model and the
code. The technique of model transformation is defined by meta model and
transformation rule. The proposed work intends to construct the source meta model
for model oriented program and the target meta model for mobile application. And it
also intends to define model transformation rules to bridge the gap between source
and target meta model by using ATLAS (ATL) transformation language. The
proposed system expected to generate the android source project and create, retrieve,
update, and delete (CRUD) android apps.
Although there are already some approaches to model driven development of mobile
apps, there is still gap in model transformation approach for mobile applications.
Individual Approaches are in moving target. The technical space of model
transformations still needs

Fascism In The Kite Runner
I realized the impact of events on childhood when I was watching the movie, The
Boy In Striped Pajamas, a movie about an unlikely friendship between a Jewish boy
and a German boy. The movie covers an unlikely friendship, and the childhood
curiosity ends in the German boy sneaking into a concentration camp to see his

boy scream in agony, realizing what happened to both kids despite their religious
belonging was wrong. The prejudice resembles one similar seen in Afghanistan. In the

College Is Not The Best Years Of Your Life
College is NOT the Best Years of Your Life
I remember high school graduation like it was yesterday. The bitter sweet feeling
of completing the rite of passage in the eyes of most adults. All the exams,
projects, and hard work over a four year time span has now come to an end. Saying
goodbye to those classroom friends, the kind of friends you would share homework
answers with, but never actually heard from outside of school. It was not easy
parting ways with the teachers that you built a personal relationship with as they
prepared you for the next step of your life. Graduation night was emotional for
everyone, all of the families crying tears of joy in the parking lot afterward
knowing that their little babies have now grown up. All of the real, true friends that
you grew up with are now going their separate ways for a few months, but don t get
too upset, you will see them very soon over Thanksgiving break. Although every
graduate had a unique experience that night, I can guarantee each one heard some
variation of the phrase college will be the best four years of your life . Most kids,
including myself, believed those well wishing individuals, but does that commonly

departed away from long distance trade with other societies. Although the caste
system was a social structure, it helped stabilize Indias political foundation. Based on
the citizen s profession, the caste defined their social standing. This system contained
5 main levels; the Brahmans were the priest, highest of the caste, they ruled and

Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay
As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human
hearts and minds. This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point
of clichГ©. Everyone has heard the optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The
Beatles are certain, however idyllic it may be, that all you need is love. Humanity
is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its power to
both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. Loves
power has suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the
feeling instilled in man by love comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise.

The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its
presence, that is, through a vision of Love himself or through being close to
Beatrice. In their second encounter, nine years later, Beatrice is walking down the
street where Dante is standing in fear and trembling. As she passes him, she greets
him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to
experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses
reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. (5) It is after this encounter that
Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego
dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in
one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the
two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by
Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as
devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their
will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong
is his devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of
such a state weighs heavily on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil
and causes his friends to grow concerned. About inquiries into the cause of his pain,
Dante says, in obedience to Love s will, [...] I replied that it was Love who had
Leesburg Elementary Education Case Study
Issues
The Hartmann s felt that Leesburg elementary was not providing Mark an education
in the least restrictive environment possible. They felt that Mark should be educated
in a classroom with his nondisabled peers. They believed that LC failed to follow the
mainstreaming guidelines developed by IDEA. These guidelines as stated in Special
Education Law by Latham and Mandlawitz (2008) state that to the maximum extent
appropriate , a child with a disability should be educated in the same classroom with
their nondisabled peers (pg. 9). The Hartmann s felt that putting Mark into an autistic

The Journey of Ty Cobb in Cobb by Al Stump Essay
The book Cobb by Al Stump is a look into the late 19th century and early into the
20th through the eyes of Ty Cobb. The historical biography of Tyrus Raymond
Cobb follows his path from classroom screwaraound and fighter to the greatest
hitter to ever grace the major leagues. Ty Cobb. Growing up in Royston, GA, Cobb
was the oldest of 3 siblings and the son of a schoolteacher, principal, newspaper
publisher, state senator, and county school commissioner who wanted him to do
nothing but study. Cobb didn t listen, he practiced his way to making the bigs,

An ugly man was pig face or ratface. The Royston Rooster(Cobb) learned of a
player s weakness, and in a high screech made sure the crowd knew of it. (82) By
modern day s courtesy standards Cobb would ve been hit, fined, and booed into
submission, but back in the day he was able to trudge on through any abuse he
recieved. In the story Cobb influences a well renowned sports analysist by sending
him letters from fake people, different addresses, and different handwriting styles.
Over time and many letters stating how good Cobb was and how he was
practically setting the world on fire there was nothing to do but note how good
Cobb was in one of his articles. In the modern day one could pull up youtube and
find out if the accusations were correct and if Cobb was found out he d probably
serve jail time. Back in the day he hardly recieved a slap on the wrist though.
However the attention drawn by this article grabbed the Detroit Tigers association
s attention, which later led to Ty becoming their starting, hall of fame, centerfielder.
Tyrus Raymond Cobb was an arrogant, rude, hostile young boy who blossomed into
a talented, arrogant, rude, hostile man. Cobb would do anything to reach the top:
beat up comparable players, jeer, and kick their legs into bloody masses of flesh.
One cannot scoff at his skill and dedication though, in addition to him being
dedicated enough to be the greatest player the game has ever seen, Ty became a
captain in world war one
Compare And Contrast The New Deal And The Great
Society
President Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal in the 1930 s and President Lyndon B.
Johnson Great Society in the 1960 s had several policies, which led to some good
outcomes and some not so much. New norms that guided and redefined
administration organizations led to the development of schools and educators and to
the courses offered for the students. The great society held instruction with less
eagerness yet viewed as not that critical. Rather the great society concentrated on
more positions globally and acquiring government relief. The New Dealwas to fix the
unemployment by creating jobs and improve the economy. The Great Society was
supporting Civil Rights, lower the unemployment, create a welfare state, and
desegregation in education. The
Human Nature In Hamlet
There are many different types of literature, genres of literature include, but are not
limited to poetry, plays, novels, and films. In literature, each author, poet, or director
is responsible for creating a general theme or portraying some sort of message. True
literature tells a story that the audience can connect to their personal lives. Overall,
literature seeks to teach the humanrace about the law of cause and effect, a principle
that states for every cause there is a definite effect, and for every effect there is a
definite cause. Through literature, members of the audience are able to exam the role
each human plays in the lives of others and the world as a whole. It is common
among literature to involve interactions between characters to help display how one
character directly affects another. The most interesting pieces of literature include
some type of human conflict that reveals a flaw, or flaws within human nature. For
example, in William Shakespeare s Hamlet, revenge becomes one of the main
themes in play. In the play, Hamlet seeks to repay King Claudius for maliciously
murdering his father. In a soliloquy, Claudius states O, my offense is rank, it smells
to heaven... pray can I not (Shakespeare 165). This statement by Claudius occurs after
he realizes that Hamlet knows what he did to his father. Following this statement, it
was evident that the play turned into a game of survival of the fittest for Hamlet and
Claudius. During one of his soliloquies about
Essay on A Report On Schindlers List
A Report On Schindlers List
Thomas Keneally s Schindler s List is the historical account of Oskar Schindler
and his heroic actions in the midst of the horrors of World War II Poland. Schindler
s List recounts the life of Oskar Schindler, and how he comes to Poland in search of
material wealth but leaves having saved the lives of over 1100 Jews who would
most certainly have perished. The novel focuses on how Schindler comes to the
realization that concentration and forced labor camps are wrong, and that many
people were dying through no fault of their own. This realization did not occur
overnight, but gradually came to be as the business man in Oskar Schindler turned
into the savior of the Jews that had brought him so much wealth. ... Show more

This turns out to be timely for Schindler as now he is able to get very cheap labor.
The next few years would go well for Schindler and his factory for they turned a
great profit. In fact he made so much money that he is quoted as saying, I ve made
more money than I could possibly spend in a lifetime. ; His workers were also very
happy. This is because Schindler s Jews ; were treated as humans as opposed to
being treated as animals. For them, working in Schindler s factory was an escape
from the ghetto and from much German cruelty. They loved Schindler so much
that his factory became known as a haven throughout the Jewish community.
However, things began to go sour for Schindler, when the Germans ordered the
liquidation of the ghettoes. Soon all of the Jews in the Cracow ghetto were
relocated to the Plaszow labor camp. By this time Schindler had grown so
affectionate toward his Jewish workers that he refused to hire Poles, and instead
sought of a way to keep using the Jews that he had grown so accustomed to. As the
Cracow Jews were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp, Oskar Schindler came into
direct dealings with the camp s director, Amon Goeth. He did not like Amon, but
he tried to get in on his best side in order to keep using his Jews in his factory.
Amon agreed to let Schindler use them, and thus saving his Jews from some of the
harshness of the Plaszow labor camp. As the war began to go
What Is An Example Of Critical Infrastructure
Critical infrastructure are system and assets that are vital to the nation and national
security, without them the United States would be incapacitated. They are what keep
our nation running every day and during natural disasters. The United States has
sixteen of these critical infrastructures that are comprised of smaller subcategories
that included our key resources. Some of these infrastructure are more for everyday
use while others are more for the nation s security. Eight examples that are more for
everyday use would be the emergency, water, energy, the government, transportation,
agriculture, banking, and healthcare. The reason these are more about everyday use
is because they sectors that we use every day and without them the daily
Tense Present Democracy, English, And The Wars Over

Summary of Tense Present Democracy, English, and the Wars over Usage
Published in April of 2001 by Harper s Magazine, David Foster Wallace s essay is
both a review of A Dictionary of Modern Usage by Bryan A. Garner and an
interjection into the present day Usage Wars. Wallace s thesis for his essay is
stated after a list of grammatical errors that are overlooked on a daily basis and a
few paragraphs defining SNOOT. His thesis states, Issues of tradition vs.
egalitarianism in U.S. English are at root political issues and can be effectively
addressed only in what this article hereby terms a Democratic Spirit. A Democratic
Spirit is an attitude a person can have only by being fervent in his/her beliefs while
also recognizing and respecting the beliefs of another. After sorting out what
constitutes a Democratic Spirit and how to maintain such an attitude the author
questions who has the authority to write a dictionary and, thus, determine which
words go into the book and which words are left on the wayside. Wallace praises
Garner for his full discloser statement, which acknowledges Garner s principles and
gives background information to his text. Next, in his essay, Wallace notes Garner s
use of Ethical Appeal. The use of ethos, Wallace says, is refreshing because it is
hardly ever used in dictionary. Most dictionaries are political battle ground in a war
that is fought between the Prescriptivists (linguistic conservatives) and the
Descriptivists (linguistic

of the entire seminar. The questions were to analyze Tim O Brien as a Christ figure,

symbolism rather than in the literal sense. The Song Tra Bong river symbolizes the
beginning of Mary Anne s shift into this other person. It appears that she goes into

Post Secondary Education Plan
The venture to a post secondary institute is not a cheap one. Though, those living in
Ontario, like myself, have the privilege of government bursary and loan programs, it
is still a financial struggle to fund the education that is vital to a strong career path.
OSAP, and the surplus of scholarships available to the public in North America is a
blessing to population who lack financial support from their families.
In my entire post secondary education plan, I plan to spend around $40,000 on
tuition to get my Bachelors in Global and International with a Specialization in
World Politics, or a B.A with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in
Economics. Then, I plan to get a Masters in either Law or Political Studies, which I
anticipate will cost around another $20,000 on tuition. However, I may not look to
achieve this right away, I may wait until paying off all loans before attending school
again. In total, I am expecting to spend about $60,000 on tuition alone, though the
actual cost of tuition may be much more than this.

in the Canadian government for several years before getting my masters and
becoming a member of parliament. I hope to work to pay off my student loans, while
also earning scholarships based off of my future aspirations and academic

The infant depends on the parents, especially the mother, for food, sustenance, and
comfort. The child s relative understanding of world and society come from the
parents and their interaction with the child. If the parents expose the child to
warmth, regularity, and dependable affection, the infant s view of the world will be

Aggressive behaviors, such as throwing objects, hitting, or yelling, are examples of
observable behaviors during this stage. Preschoolers are increasingly able to
accomplish tasks on their own, and with this growing independence comes many
choices about activities to be pursued. Sometimes children take on projects they can
readily accomplish, but at other times they undertake projects that are beyond their
capabilities or that interfere with other people s plans and activities. If parents and
preschool teachers encourage and support children s efforts, while also helping them
make realistic and appropriate choices, children develop initiative independence in
planning and undertaking activities. But if, instead, adults discourage the pursuit of
independent activities or dismiss them as silly and bothersome, children develop

Diversity In Education Essay

  • 1. Diversity In Education Essay Writing an essay on the topic of diversity in education can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, there is a vast amount of information and perspectives to consider, ranging from the historical context of diversity in educational settings to its modern implications and challenges. Additionally, navigating the sensitive nature of the topic requires a nuanced approach to ensure inclusivity and respect for diverse viewpoints. Researching this topic can be time-consuming as it involves delving into various disciplines such as sociology, psychology, education theory, and cultural studies. Understanding the complex interplay between factors like race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, and ability within educational contexts requires a thorough examination of scholarly literature and empirical studies. Furthermore, crafting a cohesive argument that addresses the multifaceted nature of diversity in education while maintaining clarity and coherence can be a daunting task. Balancing the need for statistical evidence with personal anecdotes or case studies to illustrate key points adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Moreover, discussing controversial issues related to diversity in education may require careful consideration of language and framing to avoid inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or biases. Engaging in critical analysis while remaining sensitive to the experiences and perspectives of marginalized groups is essential but can be challenging to navigate effectively. In conclusion, writing an essay on diversity in education demands a significant investment of time, effort, and empathy. However, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful discourse and promote inclusivity within educational environments makes the endeavor worthwhile. • 2. Jacob Negligence Case ABSTRACT This paper is about the Case of Jacob and his diseased leg. Clinical negligence is one the main causes that led to the infection of Jacobs s leg. It later resulted in his life being altered due to the fact that it prolonged his healing process because of a mistake that his own physician had made. The key component of integrity and honesty wasn t exercised in this situation because of the lack of maintaining high moral and ethical conducts when treating Jacob. Due to this negligence, the consequences will be affected by both parties in which will result in taking it to the next level by taking Dr. M to court. This case should be treated as a civil action law suit because a wrongful act was committed. The use of clinical protocols helps healthcare professionals establish appropriate treatments and care for the patients.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... M was taking a look at his leg that was injured but seemed to be healing. All was thought to be well until one office visit the doctor went across the hall to check on another patient who seemed to have an infected leg. The doctor left the door open where confidentiality here was obviously not being taking into consideration for the patient he was seeing as well as others who were able to hear them. Since the door was open, his parents noticed that he did not change his gloves while entering that other room and came back to check on their son with no gloves on. Dr. M was concerned about Jacobs leg and told him to come back the following week while treating it with antibiotics. The following week he comes back only to see that he has developed osteomyelitis. This was the same infection that the other patient developed while under the care of his supervision. Jacobs delay in his recover cost him the opportunity to play football and a college scholarship. Jacobs s parents then resorted to suing Dr. M because of his negligence and lack of medical

The Pearl Character Analysis Would A Pearl Change Your LIFE To BE HARD As A MACHINE,Crazy As An ANIMAL,OR Would You Continue Your Life As Normal? The Pearl written by John Steinbeck tells a rampageous story of a person who has found The Pearl Of The World and which it changes him throughout the story which can make him different. What can make him different are these 3 things which are a man, a machine and a animal. These three descriptions talk about Kino who changes throughout the story. As the story starts Kino is a man and as he ends he is a machine. The definition of Man is that he takes care of his family and would do anything for his family. In the book the Pearl it tells on page 27 us that Kino is a brave man, and a fierce man;he is right. From his courage we may all profit. These were proud of Kino. This quote states that Kino is brave and would do anything good for his family and people see him as a brave fierce man and that they would profit good from him. The second quote states on page 9 Hooked his foot in the loop on his rock and his worked quickly, tearing the oysters loose, some singly, others in clusters. This quote means that he worked very hard for searching a pearl to save his son Coyotito who has been stung by a scorpion because he does not have enough money to pay for the doctor. The third quote says on page 7 He looked down in wonder at his knuckles and at the blood that flowed down between his fingers This quote states that Kino was mad at the doctor because he would not

QUESTIONS Was Guy Fawkes a rebel or a hero? Guy Fawkes was notoriously known for being a rebel to the protestant king or was he the last hope of the catholic faith? Being one of the very few Catholics left in England after King James I who was a protestant had claimed the throne. He had then demanded that all of people of the Catholic faith be eradicated from England. Although several men had decided to revolute against the newly introduced kings order. • 5. How Does Kurtz Justify The Rule Of War In the twentieth century alone over 108 million people have lost their lives due to war. This does not include only soldiers and those who set out to risk their lives, but civilians and children too. In the movie Apocalypse Now, the film follows the voyage of veteran Benjamin L. Willard and his mission to terminate the noted and recently turned insane Colonel, Walter E. Kurtz. In the backdrop of this mission is the Vietnam War and throughout the movie there is clips of savagery and barbaric actions shown by the the Vietnam and American soldiers and even the Vietnam civilians. When Willard arrives at Kurtz s outpost, he is introduced to the civilization in Cambodia that Kurtz has become a god too. Kurtz rejects the undefined Rule of War that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Rule of War is a hypocritical way of trying to justify these barbaric actions that come out of war and Kurtz pokes fun at that. He knows that these actions are needed to succeed in war and believes that they are justified because a soldier is a job rather than a person and separating oneself from the job is how you win. In my opinion Kurtz is correct, these types of soldiers would be beneficial to any Army and separating humanity from such brutal task is the best method to survive as a soldier. There are countless occurrences in history where nations have agreed with Kurtz and did actions that are qualified as unethical. In the final months of World War II, allied forces bombed the controversial city of Dresden. Between 35,000 to 135,000 people were pronounced dead and the city of Dresden was basically leveled. Due to the fact that Dresden is not a major industrial center for Germany s wartime production, many question if destroying a city and killing thousands of civilians was necessary. To the allies though this was justified, claiming that this attack disrupted communication lines for Soviet offense and terrorized the German population to the point of surrendering. To debate whether this was amoral is not the point though, this aided in ending the war and to some that is enough justification. This is why war can never be ethical, because to win a war nations will do whatever possible to win, which they should, but these inhumane actions lead to self destruction of cities and the murder of millions of innocent
  • 6. Supervision and Management INTRODUCTION In earlier days, the supervisor was the person in charge of a group of towrope pullers or ditch diggers. That person was literally the fore man, since he was up forward of the work crew. His authority consisted mainly of chanting the one, two, three, up that set the pace for the rest of the workers. In Germany, the supervisor is still called a vorarbeiter ( fore worker ); in England, the term charge hand is used. Both terms suggest the lead person origin. The term supervisor has its roots in Latin, where it means looks over. It was originally applied to the master of a group of artisans. Today, the supervisor s job combines some of the talents of the foreman (or leader) and those of the master (skilled... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The core of this report focuses on one of the typical tactics deployed the underbidding of contracts to outbid other contractors, the ethical ramifications of utilizing this particular tactic and possible viable solutions to doing away with this practice. 1.2 Social Context The underbidding of contracts to outbid other competing contractors is an open secret amongst contractors at least to the knowledge of the experienced and high ranking contracting firms. This practice usually stems from the detection of flaws in construction designs, drawings, outlines and cost estimates. Contractors wielding intelligence about the make up of such poorly structured projects move to profit on these flaws by first underbidding on the contracts to be awarded it then decide to include additional costs to the project via change orders later on in the project. This practice may also be due to the socially regarded norm on cost effectiveness. Outsourcing corporations and governments often tend to confuse cost effectiveness for pragmatism and thus may usually be inclined to award contracts to the lowest bidding contractor. Contractors then move to exploit this chance by requesting change orders which in most cases may not be necessary thus bulking on their profits. This practice would arguably be much more rampant in government awarded contracts mainly due to bureaucracy and the lack of critical cost

  • 11. Leonardo Da Vinci And The Last Supper Matthew Greiner Artist Project 8/2/15 Leonardo Da Vinci is most famous for the Mona Lisa and his countless inventions. He was many things, an inventor, an artist and a scientist. Here, we are going to mostly talk about his artist side(Although, personally i would rather write about his inventor side) His two most commonly known paintings were Mona Lisa and The Last Supper . Two wonderful pieces of art by an amazing artist. he was born on April 15 1452 in Vinci, Italy, died May 2 1519. He heavily influenced the renaissance era and is still influencing us today. At an early age, Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence, where he apprenticed with the painter and sculptor Verrochio. Da Vinci s brilliance was obvious even at this early stage in his life. He often experimented with different artistic forms and techniques. Being surrounded by Italian art, he often used oils in his paintings . His work sparked a new style of art in Italy. In 1481, at the age of 30, da Vinci moved to Milan to work for the Duke of Milan. Although relatively few of da Vinci s paintings and sculptures survive, two of his extant works are among the world s most well known and admired paintings. The first is da Vinci s The Last Supper, painted during his time in Milan, from about 1495 to 1498. A oil mural on plaster, The Last Supper was created for the city s Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Also known as The Cenacle, this work measures about 15 by 29 feet and is the artist s only surviving

Companies in this industry manufacture electrical equipment, appliances, and electrical components. The major products includes household appliances, communication and energy wire and cable, batteries, lighting equipment, industrial controls, motors and generators, switchgear and switchboard equipment, wiring devices, and transformers(Electrical Products Manufacturing). The industry made $42.6 billion in revenue in 2015 (Isakowitz, 4). Acquainted ECONOMIC TRENDS Advancements in technology strongly drive the demand for electrical products. US corporate profits, an indicator of corporate demand for electrical products, rose 3.7 percent in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014 (Electrical Products Manufacturing). US personal income has also risen, which increases demand for electrical products. As a result of the personal income elevation, demand for electrical products rose 6.4% in May of 2015 (Electrical Products Manufacturing). Revenue in the industry is projected to increase at an average annual rate of 1/7% over the next five years. Domestic manufacturers in the US have lost market share to imports, which increased from 45.8% of domestic demand in 2010 to 50.8% in 2015 (Isakowitz, 8), The penetration of imports is in part because of the low labor costs provided by offshoring. Increased production costs have
  • 13. The, By Andrea Di Michele Cioni Throughout the ages art has played an important part in shaping societies and the ideals of them as a whole. But what you may not of realized or thought about is that powerful art pieces and the context of them can actually create an image of strength and act as a deterrent from outside countries and foes. Looking back on the high Renaissancein Florence, a time in which religious devotion was the central focus of the people and unrest and civil disorder were commonplace. Two differing sculptures of David were commissioned and sculpted, one by Andrea di Michele Cioni nicknamed Verrocchio meaning true eye in the late 1400s and the other by Michelangeloin the early 1500s. Both pieces were commissioned because of Florence s favoring of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And looking at Florence today it definitely lives up to that expectation of being small but mighty, being one of the most populated areas in Tuscany. But back then in the late 14th and early 15th century, they were not very substantial in numbers. They Probably numbered no more than 15,000 during the 15th century and would have surely fallen if attacked in an all out war, so they had to rely on other tactics. This is in my opinion where the idea of not only finding hope in David and his similarities to that of Florence came into play, but also the idea of creating an image that Florence though small like David can defeat the greatest of enemies with the help of God. It kind of reminds of the idea of using brains over brawns, instead in this case just avoiding the fight altogether by creating the sort of image that Florence like David can overcome the greatest of hardships. David was to the people of Florence at the time a symbol of hope and perseverance and acted as a deterrent to those potential Goliaths . The small city state had little means of fending off an army and as a major art Center it didn t really have a reputation for being all that powerful or having any sort of exceptional military. The Davids of Florence may have changed this acting as a
  • 14. Big Bang Theory Or A Big Fabrication Adair Day AP English IV Mrs. Britt Collins 14 March 2016 Big Bang Theory or a Big Fabrication The concept of creation has boggled human s minds for centuries. Human nature has an intuitive sense of longing for an answer to solve the unknown, and creation embodies the concept of unknown. In an effort to compile reason and scientific knowledge, an explanation of the formation of the universe was formed and is widely known as The Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory is considered, ...the leading scientific explanation for the formation of the universe (Howell). The Big Bang Theory articulates that before this event there was nothing; and after it there was something. This suggestion to how the universe was created was originally born from the sighting that the surrounding galaxies are moving away from our own at an immense speed as if they had been propelled by some force (Howell). The standard theory states that the entire universe originated as a condensed, infinitely pressured, singularity, which defies the laws of today s understanding of physics. It is a misconception this event occurred as an explosion; rather it resembled more of an expansion. At one moment there was nothing in existence and in the following, the universe expanded as a balloon would, from a sub atomic particle, to all that it is today. This notion of how the universe was created, is nothing more than a shot into the dark, literally, and holds no validity. At this exact moment there are roughly 100,000
  • 15. The Influence Of Television In Television Television is a platform in which nowadays everyone has some type of interaction with. With television people are exposed to movies, shows, news, cartoons, music, etc. In today s society television has become the main source of information, but most people view television as a means for entertainment (Mitu, 2011). For some people television might be the first platform where they are exposed to a new subject. This exposure might leave its viewers with positive or negative feelings towards a subject. According to Mitu (2011) television has the power to influence or change people s attitudes, behaviors, and feelings towards a certain subject. A topic that is portrayed in television is disability, the screen provides its audience with a unique point of view. Examples of disabilities reflected on television can be seen on movies such as The Hunchback of Notre Damereleased in 1996, At First Sight (1999), and the TV show The Good Doctor aired in 2017. These movies are representation of how various disabilities are portrayed through the screen and the way in which people react to and deal with the differences that these people experience. The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie tells the story of Quasimodoa deformed man who also has a hunchback, and since he was a baby he has spent his life away from society. Quasimodo is afraid of how people will react when they see him. Frollo the person responsible of taking care of Quasimodo has made him believe that he is ugly and deformed. In
  • 16. Spotify Impact Streaming has had a massive impact on the the music industry within the last few years. One of the most well known impacts for the music industry, was the launch of Spotify in 2008, which has changed the way people listen to music ever since. It has been argued that Spotify do not pay out fairly to artists but this can also be argued to be due to bad contract deals with record companies. There are many recognizable examples of why mainstream artists are against musicstreaming, Lady Gaga claimed she only earned ВЈ108 from one million listens in 2010. Spotify is a legal service and pays to license songs from all major record labels and although Spotify pays royalties for all the listening that occurs on their service, they distribute nearly 70% of revenues back to the right holders, such as; publishers, distributors and the independent artists themselves. As explained by Spotify officials, they work around the basis that the more users they get, the more money they can pay out (Knopper, 2014). Along with Spotify there are many more streaming sites, such as Tidal and Apple Music. Most recently, singer Adele has not allowed her latest album 25 available on many streaming services but it is still expected to be the best selling album of the year. Adele stated she would have allowed streaming services to the new album, if it was restricted to pay but Apple refused to do this. It can be debated that mainstream artists are restricting their music being put on streaming sites due to business or just taking a stand. By artists not streaming their music, sites such as iTunes have a rise on their digital sales. Any retailer prefers this as it is Encouraging more people to buy then to stream (Shaw,

  • 18. Prince Klemens von Metternich and Prince Otto von Bismarck... Prince Klemens von Metternich and Prince Otto von Bismarck can be compared to the dual sides of a Deutsche Mark, a Deutsche Mark that has sported different faces when repeatedly tossed over the years. After 1871, the Prussian friendly German historians hailed Bismarck as the national hero who had united Germanywhile Metternich was deemed a failure. Then after the loss of the two world wars, the coin was again flipped, and Bismarck was seen as a bloodthirsty power monger while Metternich still carried the stigma of a failure. The events that lead to the diverse opinion of these two men were their characters, ideological backgrounds, goals, the means by which they reached their goals, their achievements and lastly, their failures. I cannot help myself from saying about twenty times a day: how right I am and how wrong they are, demonstrating the arrogance of his class (Pelling). Metternich was an opportunist and conservative, much like Bismarck, and they both hated the idea of revolution. Metternich wanted Austria to dominate the German Confederation and influence the rest of Europe but he was against a unified Germany because the Habsburg Empire did not embrace a single people speaking one language, but many people s speaking different languages. Metternich was anti nationalist and he was against student organization. His Carlsbad Decrees in 1819 dissolved the Burschenschaften, and he opposed a representative government. Prince Otto von Bismarck was seen as both a political genius and a power monger, like a Prussian version of Alexander the Great by the people. Bismarck was a conservative, who used the people around him to reach his goals; and in doing so, he pitted people against one another. According to the book 19th Century Germany: Politics, Culture and Society 1780 1918 by John Breuilly, modern historians have found it very hard to separate the man from his achievements (Breuilly 172). The historians have run into a roadblock that consists mostly of

He was loyal to his friend, Caesar, whom he considered a true friend. He looked at life as a game in which he had a signified part to play, and played that part with excellent refinement and skill. Brutus persuaded the others not to add to the assassination by saying, quot; And for Mark Antony, think not of him: for he can do no more than Caesar s arm when Caesar s head is off quot;(2.1.181 183). The Importance Of Nation-State Policy Along with the twenty first century tagged an interconnected and globalized world, consociated by instantaneous worldwide communication and the free dissemination of information. With this new era of technology, economic policies of nation states have become so interdependent that most nation state economies would be crippled without their respective international trading partners. As such, one may wonder if an introspective national policy is appropriate, as argued for by the source. During isolation, the Japanese were only scarcely aware of the technological advances in Western technology. As such, when U.S. Commodore Matthew Perry s black ships arrived, the Japanese were shocked at just how advanced the technology was, especially in shipbuilding and weaponry. These are show below, respectively. Grignard reagents are reactive enough to also attach esters; however, two equivalents of the Grignard reagent are usually added because less then two equivalents leave a large quantity of unreactive ester. This reaction forms a tertiary alcohol. Grignard reagents cannot be synthesized from alcohols because instead of reacting with the halide to form the Grignard reagent, the alcohol is deprotenated. Grignard reagents also cannot be synthesized from molecules with a carbonyl group. Solvent choice is important in Grignard reagent formation. The solvent must be non reactive with a negatively charged carbon (ex. acetone or anything even slightly acidic), and the solvent cannot have a carbonyl group. The solvent must be a volatile solvent that provides a blanket of solvent over the reaction solution so that oxygen and moisture in the air are excluded from the reaction. Oxygen and moisture in the air are very slightly acidic and would disrupt the synthesis of a Grignard reagent. Anhydrous ether (R2O) is often used as a solvent in creating Grignard reagents because it keeps out water and oxygen, makes the

Freeman believes the opposite of Friedman. Freeman argues the opposite by stating that the basic idea is that businesses, and the executives who manage them, actually do and should create value for customers, suppliers, employees, communities, and financiers [or shareholders] (Freeman, 39). This passage suggest that Freeman believes in the stakeholder theory, and that a stakeholder can be anyone: an employee, a customer, the community, etc. Freeman counter argument to Friedman is that Shkreli forgot the most important rule in modern business, The customer is always right. Friedman theory might have been ethical to use in the old days, but in recent years a business being ethical includes taking it customers opinion into account. Friedman fail to realize that workers and employees play a huge role in business making profit. Additionally, the web states that For decades, there wasn t any competition to Daraprim for the simple reason that there wasn t much money to made selling it (McLean, Web). This is yet another prove that Shkreli didn t had a reason to raise its price. Because they have no competition, then they didn t have a reason to raise it price. He acquired the U.S. rights to a lifesaving drug and promptly boosted its price over 5,000 percent (Mclean, Web). All things consider, it is understandable that the drug cost money to make, but raising the price to 5000% is outrageously high. For this reason, I believe that if he would have just double the price, it would have been such a huge deal/unethical. Since no one can ever really know what his actual meanings were for these two women being so similar (in their movements), and yet so different (in their character), only individual explanation can be brought up. This in particular, is what brings me to question both Achebe and Sarvan s points. By reorganizing Conrad s descriptive words, Sarvan was able to propose that Conrad did not intend for the mistress to be perceived as the savage counterpart. (Achebe, p. 255) Yet, at the same time, both Sarvan and Achebe each write about what they think to be the right thing. It seems to me that Achebe was looking for racism in this short novel, and that Sarvan was so taken back by Achebe s accusations, that he himself, went and looked for ways to defend Conrad. However, this particular shortcoming of the native woman, is not the only one that Achebe finds. As stated earlier, communication is very important in our society and to civilization (as known by the Europeans of the time). • 37. Fascism In The Kite Runner I realized the impact of events on childhood when I was watching the movie, The Boy In Striped Pajamas, a movie about an unlikely friendship between a Jewish boy and a German boy. The movie covers an unlikely friendship, and the childhood curiosity ends in the German boy sneaking into a concentration camp to see his friends and both of them dying. At the end of the movie the parents of the German boy scream in agony, realizing what happened to both kids despite their religious belonging was wrong. The prejudice resembles one similar seen in Afghanistan. In the novel The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseinidisplays the growth of fascism and the manner in which it can drastically dehumanize a childhood. The bitter sweet feeling of completing the rite of passage in the eyes of most adults. All the exams, projects, and hard work over a four year time span has now come to an end. Saying goodbye to those classroom friends, the kind of friends you would share homework answers with, but never actually heard from outside of school. It was not easy parting ways with the teachers that you built a personal relationship with as they prepared you for the next step of your life. Graduation night was emotional for everyone, all of the families crying tears of joy in the parking lot afterward knowing that their little babies have now grown up. All of the real, true friends that you grew up with are now going their separate ways for a few months, but don t get too upset, you will see them very soon over Thanksgiving break. Although every graduate had a unique experience that night, I can guarantee each one heard some variation of the phrase college will be the best four years of your life . Most kids, including myself, believed those well wishing individuals, but does that commonly used phrase have any truth to it? In today s society, the idea of college is portrayed by the media as a wild party scene where young adults struggle to receive an education due to their long nights spent partying. Most high school seniors were looking forward to the day they could move out of the house and

As she passes him, she greets him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. In literature, each author, poet, or director is responsible for creating a general theme or portraying some sort of message. True literature tells a story that the audience can connect to their personal lives. Overall, literature seeks to teach the humanrace about the law of cause and effect, a principle that states for every cause there is a definite effect, and for every effect there is a definite cause. Through literature, members of the audience are able to exam the role each human plays in the lives of others and the world as a whole. It is common among literature to involve interactions between characters to help display how one character directly affects another. The most interesting pieces of literature include some type of human conflict that reveals a flaw, or flaws within human nature. For example, in William Shakespeare s Hamlet, revenge becomes one of the main themes in play. In the play, Hamlet seeks to repay King Claudius for maliciously murdering his father. In a soliloquy, Claudius states O, my offense is rank, it smells to heaven... pray can I not (Shakespeare 165). This statement by Claudius occurs after he realizes that Hamlet knows what he did to his father. Following this statement, it was evident that the play turned into a game of survival of the fittest for Hamlet and Claudius. During one of his soliloquies about

Wallace s thesis for his essay is stated after a list of grammatical errors that are overlooked on a daily basis and a few paragraphs defining SNOOT. His thesis states, Issues of tradition vs. egalitarianism in U.S. English are at root political issues and can be effectively addressed only in what this article hereby terms a Democratic Spirit. A Democratic Spirit is an attitude a person can have only by being fervent in his/her beliefs while also recognizing and respecting the beliefs of another. After sorting out what constitutes a Democratic Spirit and how to maintain such an attitude the author questions who has the authority to write a dictionary and, thus, determine which words go into the book and which words are left on the wayside. Wallace praises Garner for his full discloser statement, which acknowledges Garner s principles and gives background information to his text. Next, in his essay, Wallace notes Garner s use of Ethical Appeal. The use of ethos, Wallace says, is refreshing because it is hardly ever used in dictionary.
