just dead. Not to feel better for herself, but to better the lives of those she loves.
They have now all agree to have the protagonist die to relieve her sister of the
burden of having an ailing sibling, making her more eligible for a successful life.
The protagonist says Now that I was dead, I was freer. No one but my mother was
allowed into my room, my former room they called it. (226) I believe that the
protagonist felt freer because now she gets solitude. At this point of the story, the

This study analyzes and discusses three shortcomings that prevented investment
portfolio manager David Fletcher of Jenkins, Fletcher Partners (JFP) from realizing
his team oriented operational expectations. His failures were attributed to poor
personnel management, the inability to effectively select or establish team structure,
and the failure to devise the appropriate incentives to motivate and reward employees.
After careful review it is recommended that Fletcher must invest in personnel and
team management training for himself, take a measured approach to create and

Instead a non team member of the firm had to intervene, and Fletcher responded by
isolating Whitney to obtain her perspective on the matter and ultimately making the
decision to fire Doyle with no guidance or performance improvement plan.
In addition to poor people management, the lack of a formal team structure
contributed to team performance issues. Fletcher falls prey to the team scaling
fallacy, believing that growing the staff would immediately reduce the number of
hours needed to perform research. Fletcher failed to set a vision or direction for the
team and he never defined or communicated team roles and responsibilities. He did
not consider the coordination necessary to share and leverage common industry
knowledge or to make joint investment decisions despite the fact that team members

Introduction Through the manuscripts of Herodotus, an ancient historian who
hailed from the mountainous lands of Greece, modern day historians have been
granted the ability to piece together the multitude of events that supposedly
transpired during the years 480 and 479 BC between the Persian empire and the
city states of the classical Greece (Herodotus). The second Persian invasion of
Greece, which took place in the previously mentioned years, was a part of the
many series of battles and encounters that made up the Greco Persian Wars. This
invasion in particular, however, probably saw one of the most distinguished
battles in ancient European warfare befall. As a whole, the second Persian invasion
of Greece consisted of several battles that transpired within a close proximity of
one another chronologically. The war itself was fairly short lived, even for its
time, lasting only the course of approximately one year. The battles themselves
took place in Thermopylae, Artemisium, Salamis, Platae, and Mycale (Setzer). The
Persian invasion forces were led by King Xerxes I of Persia, the son of Darius I of
Persia. Prior to the reign of Xerxes I, King Darius I had wanted to take control of
ancient Greece. As such, he ordered two campaigns which made up the first Persian
invasion of Greece. Much to his hindrance, however, Darius I breathed his last
breath before he was presented with the opportunity to carry out a second invasion.

Evil People By nature, humankind tends to be more evil than good. Even though,
some people are born with kinder temperament than others, everyone is conceived
and birth in sin (Psalm 58.3). For this, in many traditions, once a woman gives birth,
the baby is either baptized or blessed by his community to welcome him into the
world, and to remove him from sin. People are naturally self centered, jealous, mean
individuals who want to gain, but not work hard. They crave violence, and would
instantly cut corners wherever possible to get whatever they want, even if it means
to be consciously good from time to time. As misunderstood by many, a person does
not have to commit heinous act such as to kill, to enslave or to rape all conscious
activities, to be evil. As long as he had thought of evil, was born with sin, and is evil,
his nature is evil. Babies scratch, kick, bite and give people misery even before they
are exposed to life or could tell that what they are doing is bad and painful, and
people tend to show their true self when there is no one around to judge them. As
stated in the Bible, the rod and reproof gives wisdom, but a child left to himself
brings shame to his mother (Prov.29:15). If a child is not consciously trained and
disciplined by his elders, who learned from their elders, he could pander to his
predisposed fondness of envy, hatred and selfishness. And, if he indulges this
fondness, it would lead him into wrangling and strife, and all sense of courtesy
