Argument Analysis Essay
Crafting an Argument Analysis Essay can prove to be a formidable task, demanding a unique
blend of critical thinking, research prowess, and eloquent expression. The complexity lies not
only in presenting a coherent argument but also in dissecting and analyzing the arguments of
others.
One of the primary challenges is the need for a comprehensive understanding of the topic at
hand. Delving into the subject matter requires extensive research, which can be time-consuming
and mentally taxing. The essay demands a thorough exploration of various viewpoints and a
nuanced examination of the evidence supporting those perspectives. This, in turn, requires a keen
analytical eye and the ability to sift through copious amounts of information to identify relevant
and credible sources.
Moreover, constructing a compelling argument necessitates a deep understanding of logic and
rhetoric. The ability to identify logical fallacies and weaknesses in arguments is crucial. Balancing
the presentation of one's own perspective while acknowledging and refuting counterarguments
adds another layer of intricacy. Striking the right balance between persuasive language and
objective analysis is an art that demands honed writing skills.
The structure of the essay also plays a pivotal role in its effectiveness. Organizing thoughts
coherently, ensuring a logical flow from one point to the next, and maintaining a clear thesis
statement are essential components. A well-structured essay enhances the reader's comprehension
and strengthens the overall impact of the argument.
In conclusion, crafting an Argument Analysis Essay is undeniably challenging. It requires a
blend of research skills, critical thinking, logical analysis, and eloquent expression. Successfully
navigating these challenges can result in a compelling and persuasive piece of writing that not
only presents a well-supported argument but also engages and convinces the reader.

The Collapse And Revival Of American Community By
Robert...
In his famous book Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American
Community, Robert Putnam charted the decline in social capital and social
institutions since the 1950s while arguing that a vibrant and successful democracy
ultimately requires significant engagement from a wide segment of its population.
This argument was something that even concerned Tocqueville (2006) regarding the
American Experiment. Tocqueville marveled in the strengths of organizations such
as the church in America. However, he also warned that the importance of
individualism within American society could serve as its own downfall. This is the
case that Putnam makes in his book. American life has always been seen as a
vibrant community with significant social engagement; however, the trends seem to
be reversing. Putnam (2000) describes in detail the decline in participation in civic
organizations such as religious groups, the Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, and
social groups such as fraternal organizations and bowling leagues. Indeed, the title of
the book comes from the reality that while the number of people who bowl has
increased by 20 percent, the number of people who participate in bowling leagues has
significantly declined. The overarching argument here is that people who refrain
from participating in social interaction serves as a disservice to the country and hurts
the American Dream by removing the protection of interconnection. Putnam (2000)
also details the concerning decrease in

I was speaking with a good friend of mine recently and she is going through the
process of making a few changes (moving, looking into a new career, improving her
health). She mentioned how it always seems like when she wants to do something
the process is much more difficult than it ought to be. It seems as though things come
easier to other people but she always has to go through extraordinary difficulty,
disappointment, and frustration for the same things.
She s not the only one in my network who feels this way. I ve heard the same thing
from some other close friends, relatives, colleagues, and especially myself. So why
are the things in our life so difficult? How come I can t get that parking spot close to
the store? Why does someone else have to get it? Why is it when I drive the speed
limit there s always some jerk who flies by me recklessly who never gets a ticket,
but the moment I rush a little a cop wants to pull me over? Why are my simple
goals of losing weight destroyed when I just look at a desert, while others seem to

E Commerce Security Threats And The Solutions Essay
During the early 1960 s, E Commerce businesses conducted electronic transactions
via primitive computer networks but the way these transactions were exchanged
provided little to no security(34).This made online transactions on WWW(World
Wide Web), not reliable and unsecured making consumers eager to not take the
chance of risking their information, on an unprotected system. During the early
1960 s came Electronic Data Interchange(EDI). EDI replaced traditional mailing
and faxing of documents with a digital transfer of data from one computer to
another .(35)This was the first step toward the E Commerce that is present
today. Then the influential SSL protocol would come to be which helped to improve
the state of security on the WWW. This led to more protocols being introduced,
leading to other detrimental protocols such as (3D Secure, TLS, SET). These
protocols, that were just mentioned are still widely used today. This paper will go
over the threats and the solutions of E Commerce security. E Commerce security
threats according to FindLaw UK, major threats to E Commerce can be grouped into
two categories, malicious and accidental threats .(34) The first threat gone over will
be malicious threats which include hackers attempting to penetrate a system and steal
sensitive data, burglars stealing a laptop that has sensitive data on it and impostors
posing as legitimate users and then copying website information .(34)Another major
threat to E Commerce involves attackers
The Amendment Is Not Protected Under The Freedom Of
Speech...
The first amendment, of the Constitution, protects all citizens from Congress making
laws that respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of
grievances. Most U.S citizens how this amendment, or at least a summary of it,
memorized. Citizens have the right to speak their mind as they sit fit, practice any
religion, and protest. However, in modern times, it is understandable to see why this
is not entirely true. Court decisions have put many restrictions on the liberties
presented in the 1st amendment. A citizen cannot use religion as an excuse for
sacrifices, or protest in violent fashions. The most controversial, and complicated,
restrictions are those prohibiting certain kinds of speech. One of the Supreme is that
obscenityis not protected under the freedom of speech. A problem quickly raise
was: what, exactly, is obscenity? Under Miller v California, to be obscene a
publication must, taken as whole, appeal to prurient interest, must contain patently
offensive depictions or descriptions of specified sexual conduct, and on the whole
have no serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value. It made sense to ban
specific types of speech that was, at the root, meant to be hateful or obscene.
However, Indianapolis legislator, in American Booksellers Association v. Hudnut,

film; however, my favorite role of his was in the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
Are Dead by Tom Stoppard. Cumberbatch, in his role as Rosencrantz, portrays an
honorable depiction of the technique and feeling desired of in an actor. As one of the
protagonists in the play, Cumberbatch has to create a parallel between the play s
character and him to add truth to his performance. Once the play begins,
Cumberbatch immediately reveals Rosencrantz s character traits by integrating
confusion, drawn out pauses, existentialist questions, and circular arguments to his
body language and actions.
Current Status Of The Refining Industry Essay
The refining industry is a massive global industry that brings in billions of dollars
every year. Millions of Americans use gasoline and petroleum products in their
daily lives but rarely give much thought to how these fuels get refined, or which
states or nations do the majority of the reining. Even fewer people give thought to
the impact that the lack of refineries has on oil producing states, and/or oil rich
nations. This research paper examines the current status of the refining industry, the
domestic and global locations of oil refineries, the impact of the aging domestic
refineries, as well as considering if/where the U.S. should build new refineries to
keep up with the growing demand. An analytical look into the status of the refining
industry reveals that this billion dollar industry is relying on aging refineries, why
refineries are located where they are and the impact that not having a refinery has on
both oil producing states (in America) and on oil rich nations around the globe. Oil
refineries are dispersed throughout the world and throughout the United States, but
what makes one location better suited for a refinery than another? Many refineries
are located close to crude oil production centers such as the Gulf Coast (which has
significant volumes of crude oil produced both onshore and offshore); near
destinations for importing crude oil; or near major population centers where much of
the refineries output will be needed (e.g., California and the areas near
A Short Note On A Functional Laryngeal Disorder
Case Study #1
A functional laryngeal disorder is one that does not have a known physical cause.
Functional laryngeal disorders are recognized as the misuse of the laryngeal
apparatus or the larynx being used in an abusive manner. One type of a functional
laryngeal disorder is a vocal fold polyp. A vocal fold polyp is a singular occurrence
on one vocal cord or both. A polyp is a growth which resembles a blister like bump.
In addition, a hemorrhage is a blood vessel that ruptures which causes a collection
of blood within the layers of the vocal cord, this can be seen as a bruise on the vocal
cord. Adele has suffered from a vocal fold polyp with hemorrhage.
There is no known specific cause for the development of polyps, but there are
several risk factors. The two most common factors that contribute to a polyp s
formation are vocal abuse and misuse; they can also form from one simple traumatic
event. Polyps can develop from allergies, singing, yelling, chronic coughing, talking
loudly, inhaling irritating substances, and long term smoking or drinking. For
example, the vocal folds vibrate at an immense rate where they then come in
contact with each other causing stress on the vocal folds. Speaking, yelling or
singing for a prolonged period can cause them to swell. If you do not rest and
continue to use your voice the swelling can turn into a polyp, this is an example of
vocal abuse. Vocal fold polyps are known to be benign meaning they are noncancerous
and noncontagious. In
What Does Liesel Symbolize In The Book Thief
An incredibly important aspect in the Book Thief are books. The books are used
for the plot of the book but also they were used as a symbol for many things
including Liesel s ability to read and write, Liesel s character, and Liesel s ability
to use words during the story. The first aspect that books symbolize in The Book
Thief is Liesel s ability to read and write. Close to the beginning of the story, Liesel
found The Gravedigger s Handbook during her brother s funeral. The book reads, On
her first night with the Hubermanns, she had hidden her last link to him The Grave
Digger s Handbook under her mattress, and occasionally she would pull it out and
hold it. This is also a quote from her first night staying with the Hubermanns.... Show

Liesel stole a book for the first time before she knew how to read during her brother
s funeral. In the book, it reads, When he walked away, after a few dozen paces, a
black book fell innocuously from his coat pocket without his knowledge. During
this time, it was when the gravediggers were digging the grave for her brother and
then a book fell out of one of their pockets. Liesel would then steal the book and
kept it with her to remember her brother. Another time in the book that showed
Liesel s character was when she stole book during the burning of the books. It
reads, If you were being flippant about it, you d say that all it took was a little bit
of fire, really, and some human shouting to go with it. You d say that was all Liesel
Meminger needed to apprehend her second stolen book, even if it smoked in her
hands. Even if it lit her ribs. This is describing how Liesel stole The Shoulder
Shrug. She took the book out of the fire and held it against her chest and ribs. This
shows Liesel s character because it shows how she really is and likes to go against
the system. The meaning of the burnings were to burn books and anything made by
a Jew. The book was supposed to stay in the fire and burn because it was about a
Jewish protagonist. Liesel s character influenced her decision to steal the book out of

Athletic Shoe and Nike
NIKE 1 Nike has always remained on the preference list of athletes and athletic
footwear was indeed the first category of products launched by the company more
than 30 years ago. Today, you can see the craze for its products, not only among
athletes, but also among golfers and other sportspeople. Apart from that, Nike shoes
and other accessories have also become the favorite fashion products for teenagers.
Thus, fashion, elegance and achievements are some of the associated attributes of
Nike products.

Key factors that influence success of NIKE
If a company is able to establish brand awareness, they will have a significant
advantage in grabbing consumer s attention and, therefore, market share. In today s
society where consumers have significantly less time to shop and compare, brand
awareness is critical. If an established brand name effectively conveys the messages
of quality and dependability, consumers will automatically go to that brand relying on
the image that has been created when they don t have time to shop around.
Manufacturing efficiency is something that companies are constantly striving for as
well. Athletic shoe manufacturers must balance the costs of labor, raw materials,
shipping, import tariffs, and technological advancements. In an effort to keeps costs
down, the industry has been looking to overseas sourcing. This reduces the risk of
losing revenue if one region which a manufacturer incurs problems. Favorable
legislation regarding foreign manufacturing has led to a huge increase in foreign
sourcing. Overseas production and sourcing can lower material, and labor costs. The
footwear companies must choose their distribution channels carefully because they
want to make the product available, yet remain true to their image and goals.
Retailers account for the largest percentage of sales, so manufacturers must be
especially careful with their relationships with them. Technological
How Did Emmett Till Influence The Civil Rights Movement
He only whistled. But the woman he whistled at was white. He was black. A few
days later, her angry husband roused him from bed, told him to hurry up and dress.
Three days later, his terribly battered body surfaced in the muddy Tallahatchie
River where it straightens out for a stretch through the cotton rich flatlands of the
delta. His name was Emmett Till. He was 14 years old. (Jallon, 1985) Over 60
years ago, the murder of Emmett Till shaped the course of human history
significantly. News of his death sparked outrage worldwide, and served as the
catalyst for the emerging American Civil Rights Movement. Now of course, the first
things that come to mind when the Civil Rights Movement is mentioned are people
such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. However, I firmly believe that another
name should join that list. Mamie Till Bradley, Emmett s mother, worked tirelessly to
ensure that his death would not be in vain, and his name would never be forgotten....

She did this by becoming a civil rights activist delivering moving speeches to large
crowds across the nation on the topic of racial inequality and advocating for
children in poor neighbourhoods. It s also important to note that her actions
inspired more than just the general public. One such person was Rosa Parks. Parks
herself told Mamie Till that it was the image of Emmett s disfigured face in the
casket that was on her mind when she refused to give up her seat on the bus, a
hundred days after Till s death. Rosa Parks would later be cited as one of Martin
Luther King s inspirations for taking on the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which
many consider to be the official start of the Civil Rights Movement. In a way, I
suppose Mamie Till s passion to spread the word about what had happened to her son
had created a ripple of change, which is why I think she is so
The Progression Of Sid Vicious And Nancy Spungen s...
When looking into the progression of Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen s
relationship, it is not a wonder why it ended in death. Looking in from the outside,
with the media as your only source of information, you start to make assumptions
about the musician and his girlfriend. It isn t until you dig deeper into their
separate pasts, that you can really see the full picture. It becomes clear that love
may have never been a part of their lives, but a relationship of need. A place where
a mentally disturbed girl and a lonely man can escape from everything. From the
very beginning Nancy was not like other children. From the moment she was born
she was known for her temper; started with screaming and moved to vicious
tempura tantrums. By time she was in elementary school she continually focused
her rage at her younger sister and threatened to stab her baby sitter with a pair of
scissors. Later in her elementary school years she tried to beat her psychiatrist
when the woman belittled her actions as being nothing but a stunt to get attention.
She was soon expelled from her public elementary school for ditching and was
placed into a private school, which led to her running away and cutting her wrists in
an attempt to commit suicide. By time she was 15 she was diagnosed with
schizophrenia. Before reaching collage she was well known for being incredibly
intelligent. So much in fact she scored very high on an intelligence test and skipped
3rd grade. Despite her tainted record, she
Essay On Indian War
On 29th September 2016, the Indian army carried out surgical strikes against a
number of positions along the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir in response to a
militant attack in Uri eleven days earlier. The Indian military response is
unprecedented, as India has historically responded to Pakistan s support for militancy
in the subcontinent through diplomatic channels. Even after the Mumbai attacks,
which claimed the lives of 166 civilians, Indian officials published a 69 page dossier
detailing the involvement of Pakistani state agencies, and the government responded
by pressurizing Pakistanon the international front, rather than attempting military
action (Rabasa 2009, 12 14).

Wendt identifies three key elements of this international social structure, namely
shared knowledge, material resources, and practices .
Wendt describes shared knowledge as shared expectation or knowledge which
...constitute the actors in a situation and the nature of their relationships... (Wendt
1995, 73), while the term practices characterizes the dynamic nature of social
structures by referring to period of time where certain configurations of relationships

other organizing principle, as with the Cold war. Material refers to the material
resources, such as economic or military capabilities, population size, or other tangible

The Importance Of Campaigning In The United States
To win a presidential election, it is a necessity to be able to afford the cost of
campaigning. The start up cost is $10 million just for the headquarter. These
candidates will need to spend another $4 to $15 million to stay in the game. The
fight to remain as a candidate is vicious as there will only be a couple of candidates
being chosen for the final round. To be in the final round, they have to gain their
popularity, advertise about themselves in order to win. The downside to the hefty
price of campaigning is that only the wealthy can win. The less wealthy ones are
those whom are less funded and are not in the two major political parties in the US.
Hence the majority in the US might not be very well represented due to social
inequality.

people still cannot move their eyes away from the screen; indeed, the Super Bowl
has become a widely anticipated advertising war which costs companies close to 4
million dollars for a 30 second commercial. And no doubt that every advertisers
give out all they got in order to be the winner of Americans wallets. But when the
viewers watch those ads laughing, heckling, or even crying, what do they think?

Association Among Self Photography and Self Esteem, and Narcissism
The procreation of social media in daily life has caused various questions about
how individuals display themselves in these platform. The recent studies explored
the association between self esteem and the posting of self photographs on a social
media networking site such as Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. Social media
arenas have become strikingly popular in the past decade serving the varied
communicative intentions. Despite the accelerated rise in social media networking
industry, the research has been passive to study the behavior on social media such
as self photography which has been a general issue of conversation in day to day
life. One of the big questioning is about what one s behavior on social media might
express his or her personality traits. Self esteem and narcissism have frequently been
considered as crucial awareness in the growth of selfie industry (Cosima, 2016;
Mirshak, 2016). Individuals with narcissistic personality may be more likely to
post selfies on social media networking sites than others. Actually, a recent research
study revealed that the frequency of selfie postings on social networking sites was
notably correlated with self reported narcissism among adult males (Tomko, 2016).
Besides, since it is possible for individuals to discreetly pick and edit the posts, and
even decide who is not allowed to access their posts, individuals with low self esteem

There were 28 total participants in the study who were undergraduate students.
They participated in the experiment on a voluntary basis, and they were given no
compensation. 13 participants were male and 15 were female. Their ages ranged
from 19 years old to 37 years old (M = 22.93, SD = 5.49). Seventy five percent of
the participants were between the ages of 19 and 22 while the other twenty five
percent were between the ages of 23 and 37. Design The participants were
randomly divided into two groups for the experiment. The first group was the
Dominant group (8 women and 6 men), and the second group was the Non
dominant group (7 women and 7 men). The Dominant group included the
participants that had their eyes open and who threw with their dominant hand. The
Non dominant group had the participants close their eyes and they threw with their

the participants to throw. Small cones were needed to make a rectangle that was 1
meter wide and 1.5 meters long. A blindfold was used to cover the participants eyes
for part of the experiment, and a tape measurer was used to mark off 5.5 meters and
7 meters away from the rectangle and to measure the distance they walked after
throwing. Procedure The experiment had the participants throw beanbags from either
5.5 meters away or 7 meters away. The Dominant group (8 women and 6

Free Trade Agreements And The Trade Agreement
Free trade agreements are established around the world by countries to limit
restrictions on trade and investment in hope of benefiting both countries economies.
A free trade agreement removes barriers to trade eliminating most quotas and
removing tariffs on goods and services that can be exported or imported. Many free
tradeagreements also remove other barriers to trade, like property protection or
restrictions on foreign service provider s industry. China a growing superpower, has
the largest population in the world and has numerous free trade agreements with
different countries. China has a free trade agreement with Australia established in
2014 and with New Zealand established in 2008. Free trade agreements help Chinese
businesses by attracting investment from Australian markets. Free trade agreements
increase export markets for China and lower costs of imports into China.
a.Tariffs
A tariff is a tax on the import of goods and services brought into the country. free
trade agreements are created to lower or remove of tariffs on the trading of goods
and services. The tax may vary from a few percent of the value, to well over 100%
of the value of the item depending on its demand and rarity. This tax is carried
down to consumers, resulting in higher prices for these imported goods. Tariffs are
place to protect domestic businesses that are seen as valuable to the economy. For

The next factor is to have a quality, compelling products that innovate and capture
the customers attention. This is clear in that while people are statistically staying
away from buying a car in exchange for public transportation especially in
England, that luxury cars are selling well in worldwide poor economies. I would
say the next factor is to create cars to sell to the U.S. market. Take the foreign
market for example where the Ford focus in the United states is a clear C list car
that isn t that desirable is a great seller in countries like Germany where it is highly
desired. The third factor is public perception. Auto makers must capture the public
attention for sales, not just make the best or cheapest car. For years in America we
have an opinion that due to the bailout for example that foreign cars are better and
as such seek out Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Jaguar etc. and not a Cadillac. We seen
this with GM who was trying to sell the ponaic G8 that was half the cost of
European performance sedans and was a failure in the U.S. despite being one of
GM s most exciting cars ever made for the market. The forth factor would be to
study the market carefully. Motor vehicle companies must compete globally to make
a living and as such must examine the growing markets worldwide and
The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An
Object
Research Question
How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of
an object? Introduction
Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this
motion opposing force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things,
though generally perceived as overused, the automobile, could be considered the
epitome of friction utilization. The principles of friction applies to everything,
especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were perfectly smooth, and to
make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle would keep
moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia.
For this reason, tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of
friction, gripping the road tightly and dispersing water when the roadway is wet.
Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with
friction usage. From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it
possible to drive at all. The В¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the
most underrated use of friction, a match, something any Neanderthal would have
appreciated. [6]
Friction in Bitumen and Sandpaper
This experimental investigation endeavours to replicate the friction caused by
different surfaces of a road. Therefore this experimental investigation requires similar

but very simple and all of one piece. Their thinking does not have multiple
shadings. It has positive and negative, love or hate, right or wrong, truth or lie but
never half this way and half that way. (Hitler 182) He approached his crowd under
the assumption that they shared the same type of thinking and with this strategy,
swayed the masses. I would even be keen to say he was just as meticulous with his
moustache as he was with his political agenda. Although Hitler and I share in our
quest for perfection, I prefer to keep my standards interpersonal.
Hitler and I share a commonplace in our beliefs regarding eugenics. Eugenics is a
social philosophy for the improvement of human hereditary traits through the
promotion of higher reproduction of certain people and traits, and the reduction of
reproduction of other people and traits. (Osborn 389 97) Although not scientifically
perfect, the basic idea behind this philosophy is clearly attributed to natural selection.
In my opinion, while our world experiences technological advances, law and morality
prevent this natural process from taking place. I believe that this process is
imperative to the continuance and improvement of a species. In the animal kingdom,
the weak are food for the strong.

What Is Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs
Advertisements speak to society, supposedly reminding its members constantly of
their needs and wants (Barthel 8). How much of this is truly what society desires?
According to Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs, a need encompasses the most
primitive forms of goods and services that are required for survival, such as food,
shelter, clothing and healthcare ( Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs ). On the contrary,
a want is something a person would like to have, to add value to one s life, and
something deemed enjoyable based on one s personal preference. Henceforth, the role
of advertisingplays on the very fact that these basic economic concepts of needs and

Lab Report On Hand Washing
Lab Report #1: Hand washing is it worth it?
Introduction:
This experiment illustrates the importance of handwashing and proves that hand
washing is worth it. Since our hands are constantly coming into contact with
ourselves and others, touching surfaces, grabbing objects, being sneezed into, etc.,
keeping our hands clean is one of the most effective, yet simple way we can take to
avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are
spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running warm water. The human
skin is a host to anywhere between 10,000 10,000,000 bacteria per square centimeter
and since health care providers come into contact with pathogenic bacteria by being
engaged in patient care, hand washing can reduce the risk of spreading diseases (page
3). The objective of the experiment is to test the effectiveness of hand washing and
demonstrate normal flora. This report presents the procedures and materials for the
experiment, the experiment s results, and an analysis of those results.

Originally, the Sistine Chapel s vaulted ceiling was painted blue and covered with

The ceiling program, which was probably formulated with the help of a theologian
from the Vatican, is centered around several scenes from the Old Testament beginning
with the Creation of the World and ending at the story of Noah and the Flood.
The public first saw Michelangelo s frescoes on the vaulted ceiling of the Sistine

Medicare, Australia s national public health insurance, provides universal health
coverage for citizens and permanent residents in addition to people with temporary
visas from countries with which Australia has reciprocal arrangements. Medicare
covers inpatient care in public hospitals for free or subsidized access to
comprehensive medical services (Mossialos et al., 2015). Citizens may choose to
buy private insurance to cover more health care options and to cover items not
covered under Medicare for example ambulance services. Medicare gives
Australian residents access to health care and is partly funded by taxpayers who
pay a Medicare levy of 2.0% of their taxable income (Ato, n.d.). The first contact
with health services one may need would involve a visit to a general practitioner,
who may refer the patient to a specialist, diagnostic testing, medication for the need

sector operate the private hospitals. As of June 2014 over 47% of the population had

medical system is generally positive and strongly favors a universal public health

The competition was not finished until one man lay unconscious, and this often took
hours (channel 4). Despite the popularity of boxing, cockfighting was still
considered to be the period s most widespread sport.
Cockfighting ranged across all social classes. Tournaments were held between
gentlemen, often geographically based with one area playing another. The cockpits
were a common place where all social classes gathered to place bets and watch the
match. Although even the smallest town had a cockpit, Regency gentlemen were
known to hold contests at their own estate. This pastime was a common practice and
even influenced furniture makers to offer cockfighting chairs (GI).
Unlike bare knuckle bouts between people, cocks were precisely paired by weight
in all the more heavily staked cockfights. Human training was elementary when
compared to the training of gamecock. The cocks often had bone or metal spurs
strapped over the birds beak to insure a fight to the death. Cockfighting began to
diminish in England only after The Royal Society for Cruelty to Animals began to
bring actions in the late 1830s, based on an 1835 Act against animal cruelty (GI).
With boxing and cockfighting s growing interest, both created an obsession with

Understanding The Dynamic And Empowering Leadership
Process
Every day we interact with a variety of people in different situations. Understanding
the dynamic of others can help us improve these interactions. We are all different
in our own ways, yet at the same time were are all very similar. To be an effective
leader, it is important to understand these similarities and differences. Chapter five
of Exploring Leadership by Komives describes how differences need to be
understood in order to create an inclusive and empowering leadership process. One of
the first steps in understandingothers is learning how people build relationships.
People build relationships off of commonality. We group upon similar interest, a
club, or a characteristic. These relationships create associations. According to
Maslow s hierarchy of needs, people need to feel a sense of fulfillment and need to
feel like they belong. Relationships help to form this fulfillment. But more
importantly, relationships are built off of a common purpose. As leaders, I feel it
is very important to understand others so you can adjust your behaviors in order to
include everyone. This type of inclusiveness build relationships and helps a leader to
serve his goal or purpose. It is also important to recognize groups contain differences.
These differences could be caused by genderor culture. Males act and react
differently than females. Sometimes we confuse our sex roles for gender roles. For
example, women are not the only sex to be nurturing of children. While it is

Use of Competitive Radioligand Binding to examine Endothelin Receptor
Populations on Ventricular Cardiomyocyte Membranes of Spontaneous Hypertensive
Rats. Abstract
This investigation concerned the relationship between endothelin receptor
populations on the ventricular cardiomyocyte membrane of spontaneous
hypertensive rats at 16 weeks old. The use of radioligand competitive binding assay
method, involving the displacement of [125I]ET 1 by 3 competitive, cold ligands,
ET 1, ET 3 and BQ123, allowed for the generation of competition binding curves, that
adopted either a one site or two site model and allowed the determination of relative
IC50s and identification of receptor proportions. ET 3 produced a two site model
suggesting the existence of ET A and ET B receptors on cardiomyocyte membranes
in SHRs and calculated that around 29% of receptors were ET B, whereas ET 1 and
BQ123 both produced one site models.
Introduction
Endothelin peptide family is a group of 3 isoforms of a peptide, comprising of 21
amino acids, all of which are formed from the same larger precursor, pro endothelin
1 by endothelin converting enzyme. (Inoue A et al,1989) Each isoform is
distinguished from the others by a differing gene, with endothelin 2 and 3 differing
from endothelin 1 by 2 and 6 amino acids, respectively. (Inoue A et al,1989)
Endothelin is known mostly as a potent vasopressor, but is also known to have a

Patriarchy Of Working-Class Men And Women
Throughout the early 1900s, working class men and women struggled to survive.
Factory owners exploited their employees, requiring them to work unreasonably
long hours in unsafe environments for little pay. Since working class men and
women were often poor, they relied on their jobs to generate an income. However,
the conditions in which they were forced to work infuriated them. Machines in
factories were typically unsafe, and workers hardly received any break time. As a
result, working class men and women began to form unions, like the Industrial
Workers of the World, in an attempt to gain power over inconsiderate factory owners
and fight for more rights. The work of unions to receive better treatment from their
employers initiated the Worker s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time period, patriarchy was prominent within society and heavily
reinforced by both men and women. Women were perceived as weak and delicate
beings, and were therefore solely thought to be capable of performing housework,
such as cooking and cleaning, unlike men. In the first verse of his song, Hill
explains that women were expected to live in beautiful mansions and wear the
finest of clothes (Hill, Verse 1). The women described in these lines most likely
did not work, as those who composed the working class were typically roughened
and poor from having to work long hours for little pay. This implies that women
were not expected to perform manual labor, but were instead expected to stay in
their mansions and do housework, if anything. However, although women were
supposed to resemble these qualities due to their supposedly fragile nature, many
could not afford to. In reality, multiple women were forced into becoming factory
workers, as they were poor and needed to generate an income to survive. Factories
hired people that were desperately looking for work willingly, since these
individuals were more likely to accept lower pay and allow for the company to
generate a greater profit. Therefore, even though these women had to work to
survive, the hegemonic ideology that women were too delicate to perform manual
labor was contradictory; women were expected to stay home, but were
simultaneously hired to work long hours. The song Rebel Girl presents the
hegemonic ideology that women were not capable of performing manual tasks in
order to expose its inaccuracy. Since Rebel Girl is a song dedicated to working class
women, it contributes to the emergent feminist ideology that women could work, like
men, despite pre existing beliefs.
Mozart Bach Research Paper
Seen today as one of the most influential and inspirational composers Bach s
magnificence and brilliance was not truly recognized until a hundred years after his
death. Bach raised the bar for how music was composed and played. He strove for
perfection in his pieces. This all started from his childhood upbringing, be it his
Lutheran faith or the tragedy that stuck when he was merely ten. These parts of his
childhood shaped the master pieces of Bach s work.
Bach was raised in a family full of composers, and his beautiful voice got him into
the best musical schools as a child. Not only was he surrounded by music at home and
school but also in his religious life. Bach s family were devoted Lutherans and thanks

Just a few ways Bach revolutionized music was how he played the clavicle. Wanting
more variety Bach tuned the clavicle differently creating what we now call a Well
Tempered clavicle which allowed Bach to compose pieces in keys no one had
really composed in before. Bach composed these pieces as he said for the profit of
the musical young desirous of learning . Because of these pieces future composers
like Mozart learned how to compose music. A few more musical contributions
from Bach was the counter points of his music. Each piece of Bach s works, even
when played separately, are beautiful but when woven all together much like a
tapestry the true beauty of the piece shows. Bach s music is often seen as heavy,
this is partly because of dissonances and the emotions it conveys in his works.
When it came to music Bach was a passionate man which sometimes got him in
conflict with his employers. Even as a young man he showed a desire to liven up
his playing and/or composition. This carried out into his life where he tirelessly
persued excellence. Bach s works being extremely complex means that even
performers must strive for a new form of perfection to play the piece to its full
potential. Bach composed his vocal and instrumental pieces the same which often
meant the vocalists would go for a long period of notes before being able to take a
breath. All these components are what makes Bach s music so beautifully

The first electrical telegraph lines had been built forty years earlier, in the 1830s.
These allowed electrical clicks Morse code to be instantly transmitted over great
distances. Bell wanted to transmit human speech instead of clicks, and he was
getting close to doing it. He had found that human speech came in wave like
patterns. He now hoped to produce an electrical wave that would follow the same
patterns as someone s speech. After a while he won financial backing from
Gardiner Hubbard and Thomas Sanders, two wealthy investors. Hubbard also
brought in Anthony Pollok, his patent attorney. In 1875, Bell was 27. Bell and his
investors decided the time had come to protect his intellectual property using
copyrights. Bell had a copyright written for transmission of speech over an
electrical wire. He applied for this patent in the UK, because in those days UK
patents were granted only if they had not first been granted in another country. Bell
told his attorney to apply in the USA only after his patent had been granted in the
UK. By 1876, things in the USA had become darker. In February of that year, Elisha
Gray applied for a US patent for a telephone which used a variable resistor based on
a liquid: salt water. On the same day, Bell s attorney filed his US patent application.
The money enabled Bell to hire Thomas Watson, a skilled electrical engineer, whose
knowledge would help Bell s research. Alexander Graham Bell s experiment wasn t a

were Alexander s two sons dying of Tuberculosis during his inventing process.

doing things he enjoyed like working with the deaf and being around family and

Features Of An Effective Executive Dashboard Essay
Executive dashboard:
An executive dashboard is a computer interface that displays the key performance
indicators that corporate officers need to effectively run an enterprise In information
technology, the term dashboard refers to a graphical user interface (GUI) that
organizes and presents information in a format that is easy to read and interpret. An
effective executive dashboard serves as a starting point from which a corporate
executive can get a sense of the big picture before digging deeper into data. It is an
intuitive, flexible, customizable, 100% web based Executive Information System
(EIS). Implementing Executive Dashboard into an organization allows company
executives and managers to view critical metrics in a dashboard setting, with the
ability to drill down within the dashboard and view those metrics at any level.
Executive Dashboard allows an organization to more effectively and efficiently
execute on strategy, improve business processes and manage key company metrics
proactively.
Features of an effective executive dashboard include:
An intuitive graphical display that is thoughtfully laid out and easy to navigate.
A logical structure behind the dashboard that makes accessing current data easy and
fast.
Displays that can be customized and categorized to meet a user s specific needs.
Information from multiple sources, departments or markets.
These are the different executive dashboard examples are intended to lend guidance

accounts, the CDC failed to obey the proper protocol. In addition to the anthrax
being transported in an unsafe manner, the bags in which this material was stored
were said to be mislabeled. The anthrax spores were labeled as inactive, when in
reality this was not the case. Under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety

about all hazard information of which the employer is or ought to be aware

mislabeling violates this section due to the fact that the workers were misled,
thinking the anthrax was inactive. Live anthrax is not only a very harmful pathogen
if one is exposed to it, but can be fatal if left untreated. Due to the fact that the
Ziploc bag was not even labelled correctly, the workers may not have been aware of
the potential exposure they had and thus put their lives at risk unknowingly. The

William Shakespeare s A Great British Author
A Great British Author William Shakespeare was one of the greatest poets,
playwright, and actor. He composed numerous plays, sonnets, and poems.
Shakespeare was born in Stratford. His precise birthday is not known, but it is
thought to be April 23, because according to church records, he was baptized on
April 26, 1564. During this time babies were typically baptized when they were 3
days old. Shakespeare s father was John Shakespeare, who was a glove maker and
a tradesman. His mother was Mary Arden. Shakespeare was married to Anne
Hathaway on November 1582. Shakespeare was 18 at the time of the wedding and
Anne was 26. Their first child, Susanna was born 6 months after the wedding in
1583. In 1585 they had fraternal twins, A son, Hamnet and a daughter named Judith.
Hamnet passed away when he was 11 years old, possibly from bubonic plague. Many
believe that the play Hamletwas about Hamnet Shakespeares son. After 3 years of
marriage, Shakespeare moved to London. His wife Anne and children stayed behind
in Stratford. One of my favorite Shakespeare plays is Hamlet. The story develops
with the late King Hamlet appearing to his child, requesting retaliation on his sibling,

Going To Colorado Research Paper
The most exciting place I have been is Colorado because there are so many fun
things to do and see. I love going to the Broncos game and the Rockies game or just
seeing my family out there. I have a lot of friends and family out there that I go out
and see. In Michigan, I can see my family and friends a lot so that is why I like going
to Colorado. There are also a lot of activities in Colorado like skiing and
snowboardingusually whenever I go out to Colorado in the winter I go skiing
because I do not know how to snowboard. I have gotten good at skiing over the years
because if you practice you will get better at it and then you will succeed at that
sport. The first time I skied I kept falling and I did not know what I was doing
Sound Of Thunder Vs Nethergrave Essay
Many people in the past and today believe the future will hold advancements in how
humans live and what they use. The most common advancement is technology.
Technology is the future, from the simplicity of turning on a light, to an advance
development of a robot. The future is commonly told through sci fi movies and
through non fictional books such as the stories The Sound of Thunder by Ray
Bradbury or The Nethergrave by Glaria Skurzynski. The story Nethergrave is better
than The Sound of Thunder because it s more entertaining, shows better imagery,
and it s ultimately easier to understand. The story Nethergrave is about a young boy
named Jeremy who faces the struggle of fitting in and the unlucky reality the real
world can pose. Jeremy, a student at Beacon Heights Middle School has a hard time
fitting in and is unable to impress anyone to actually have real friends. He s also on
the soccer team but has very little luck in scoring. While his family life is rough
when his parents are separated and he rarely gets to see his father who s in the
computer business. However, Jeremy s online life is a bit more pleasing as he has
online friends until an unknown messenger called the Magus ... Show more content on

Argument Analysis Essay

  • 1. Argument Analysis Essay Crafting an Argument Analysis Essay can prove to be a formidable task, demanding a unique blend of critical thinking, research prowess, and eloquent expression. The complexity lies not only in presenting a coherent argument but also in dissecting and analyzing the arguments of others. One of the primary challenges is the need for a comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. Delving into the subject matter requires extensive research, which can be time-consuming and mentally taxing. The essay demands a thorough exploration of various viewpoints and a nuanced examination of the evidence supporting those perspectives. This, in turn, requires a keen analytical eye and the ability to sift through copious amounts of information to identify relevant and credible sources. Moreover, constructing a compelling argument necessitates a deep understanding of logic and rhetoric. The ability to identify logical fallacies and weaknesses in arguments is crucial. Balancing the presentation of one's own perspective while acknowledging and refuting counterarguments adds another layer of intricacy. Striking the right balance between persuasive language and objective analysis is an art that demands honed writing skills. The structure of the essay also plays a pivotal role in its effectiveness. Organizing thoughts coherently, ensuring a logical flow from one point to the next, and maintaining a clear thesis statement are essential components. A well-structured essay enhances the reader's comprehension and strengthens the overall impact of the argument. In conclusion, crafting an Argument Analysis Essay is undeniably challenging. It requires a blend of research skills, critical thinking, logical analysis, and eloquent expression. Successfully navigating these challenges can result in a compelling and persuasive piece of writing that not only presents a well-supported argument but also engages and convinces the reader. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any other writing challenges, various resources, including professional writing services, are available. One such option is HelpWriting.net, where you can explore a range of services to make your writing endeavors more manageable. Argument Analysis EssayArgument Analysis Essay
  • 2. The Collapse And Revival Of American Community By Robert... In his famous book Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community, Robert Putnam charted the decline in social capital and social institutions since the 1950s while arguing that a vibrant and successful democracy ultimately requires significant engagement from a wide segment of its population. This argument was something that even concerned Tocqueville (2006) regarding the American Experiment. Tocqueville marveled in the strengths of organizations such as the church in America. However, he also warned that the importance of individualism within American society could serve as its own downfall. This is the case that Putnam makes in his book. American life has always been seen as a vibrant community with significant social engagement; however, the trends seem to be reversing. Putnam (2000) describes in detail the decline in participation in civic organizations such as religious groups, the Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, and social groups such as fraternal organizations and bowling leagues. Indeed, the title of the book comes from the reality that while the number of people who bowl has increased by 20 percent, the number of people who participate in bowling leagues has significantly declined. The overarching argument here is that people who refrain from participating in social interaction serves as a disservice to the country and hurts the American Dream by removing the protection of interconnection. Putnam (2000) also details the concerning decrease in

She mentioned how it always seems like when she wants to do something the process is much more difficult than it ought to be. It seems as though things come easier to other people but she always has to go through extraordinary difficulty, disappointment, and frustration for the same things. She s not the only one in my network who feels this way. I ve heard the same thing from some other close friends, relatives, colleagues, and especially myself. So why are the things in our life so difficult? How come I can t get that parking spot close to the store? Why does someone else have to get it? Why is it when I drive the speed limit there s always some jerk who flies by me recklessly who never gets a ticket, but the moment I rush a little a cop wants to pull me over? Why are my simple goals of losing weight destroyed when I just look at a desert, while others seem to have no
  • 4. E Commerce Security Threats And The Solutions Essay During the early 1960 s, E Commerce businesses conducted electronic transactions via primitive computer networks but the way these transactions were exchanged provided little to no security(34).This made online transactions on WWW(World Wide Web), not reliable and unsecured making consumers eager to not take the chance of risking their information, on an unprotected system. During the early 1960 s came Electronic Data Interchange(EDI). EDI replaced traditional mailing and faxing of documents with a digital transfer of data from one computer to another .(35)This was the first step toward the E Commerce that is present today. Then the influential SSL protocol would come to be which helped to improve the state of security on the WWW. This led to more protocols being introduced, leading to other detrimental protocols such as (3D Secure, TLS, SET). These protocols, that were just mentioned are still widely used today. This paper will go over the threats and the solutions of E Commerce security. E Commerce security threats according to FindLaw UK, major threats to E Commerce can be grouped into two categories, malicious and accidental threats .(34) The first threat gone over will be malicious threats which include hackers attempting to penetrate a system and steal sensitive data, burglars stealing a laptop that has sensitive data on it and impostors posing as legitimate users and then copying website information .(34)Another major threat to E Commerce involves attackers
  • 5. The Amendment Is Not Protected Under The Freedom Of Speech... The first amendment, of the Constitution, protects all citizens from Congress making laws that respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Most U.S citizens how this amendment, or at least a summary of it, memorized. Citizens have the right to speak their mind as they sit fit, practice any religion, and protest. However, in modern times, it is understandable to see why this is not entirely true. Court decisions have put many restrictions on the liberties presented in the 1st amendment. A citizen cannot use religion as an excuse for sacrifices, or protest in violent fashions. The most controversial, and complicated, restrictions are those prohibiting certain kinds of speech. One of the Supreme is that obscenityis not protected under the freedom of speech. A problem quickly raise was: what, exactly, is obscenity? Under Miller v California, to be obscene a publication must, taken as whole, appeal to prurient interest, must contain patently offensive depictions or descriptions of specified sexual conduct, and on the whole have no serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value. It made sense to ban specific types of speech that was, at the root, meant to be hateful or obscene. However, Indianapolis legislator, in American Booksellers Association v. Hudnut, used

Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead Characters Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= t5UTLkfoUs Benedict Cumberbatch has played major roles in theatre, television, and film; however, my favorite role of his was in the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard. Cumberbatch, in his role as Rosencrantz, portrays an honorable depiction of the technique and feeling desired of in an actor. As one of the protagonists in the play, Cumberbatch has to create a parallel between the play s character and him to add truth to his performance. Once the play begins, Cumberbatch immediately reveals Rosencrantz s character traits by integrating confusion, drawn out pauses, existentialist questions, and circular arguments to his body language and actions.
  • 7. Current Status Of The Refining Industry Essay The refining industry is a massive global industry that brings in billions of dollars every year. Millions of Americans use gasoline and petroleum products in their daily lives but rarely give much thought to how these fuels get refined, or which states or nations do the majority of the reining. Even fewer people give thought to the impact that the lack of refineries has on oil producing states, and/or oil rich nations. This research paper examines the current status of the refining industry, the domestic and global locations of oil refineries, the impact of the aging domestic refineries, as well as considering if/where the U.S. should build new refineries to keep up with the growing demand. An analytical look into the status of the refining industry reveals that this billion dollar industry is relying on aging refineries, why refineries are located where they are and the impact that not having a refinery has on both oil producing states (in America) and on oil rich nations around the globe. Oil refineries are dispersed throughout the world and throughout the United States, but what makes one location better suited for a refinery than another? Many refineries are located close to crude oil production centers such as the Gulf Coast (which has significant volumes of crude oil produced both onshore and offshore); near destinations for importing crude oil; or near major population centers where much of the refineries output will be needed (e.g., California and the areas near
  • 8. A Short Note On A Functional Laryngeal Disorder Case Study #1 A functional laryngeal disorder is one that does not have a known physical cause. Functional laryngeal disorders are recognized as the misuse of the laryngeal apparatus or the larynx being used in an abusive manner. One type of a functional laryngeal disorder is a vocal fold polyp. A vocal fold polyp is a singular occurrence on one vocal cord or both. A polyp is a growth which resembles a blister like bump. In addition, a hemorrhage is a blood vessel that ruptures which causes a collection of blood within the layers of the vocal cord, this can be seen as a bruise on the vocal cord. Adele has suffered from a vocal fold polyp with hemorrhage. There is no known specific cause for the development of polyps, but there are several risk factors. The two most common factors that contribute to a polyp s formation are vocal abuse and misuse; they can also form from one simple traumatic event. Polyps can develop from allergies, singing, yelling, chronic coughing, talking loudly, inhaling irritating substances, and long term smoking or drinking. For example, the vocal folds vibrate at an immense rate where they then come in contact with each other causing stress on the vocal folds. Speaking, yelling or singing for a prolonged period can cause them to swell. If you do not rest and continue to use your voice the swelling can turn into a polyp, this is an example of vocal abuse. Vocal fold polyps are known to be benign meaning they are noncancerous and noncontagious. In
  • 9. What Does Liesel Symbolize In The Book Thief An incredibly important aspect in the Book Thief are books. The books are used for the plot of the book but also they were used as a symbol for many things including Liesel s ability to read and write, Liesel s character, and Liesel s ability to use words during the story. The first aspect that books symbolize in The Book Thief is Liesel s ability to read and write. Close to the beginning of the story, Liesel found The Gravedigger s Handbook during her brother s funeral. The book reads, On her first night with the Hubermanns, she had hidden her last link to him The Grave Digger s Handbook under her mattress, and occasionally she would pull it out and hold it. Liesel stole a book for the first time before she knew how to read during her brother s funeral. In the book, it reads, When he walked away, after a few dozen paces, a black book fell innocuously from his coat pocket without his knowledge. During this time, it was when the gravediggers were digging the grave for her brother and then a book fell out of one of their pockets. Liesel would then steal the book and kept it with her to remember her brother. Another time in the book that showed Liesel s character was when she stole book during the burning of the books. It reads, If you were being flippant about it, you d say that all it took was a little bit of fire, really, and some human shouting to go with it. You d say that was all Liesel Meminger needed to apprehend her second stolen book, even if it smoked in her hands. Even if it lit her ribs. This is describing how Liesel stole The Shoulder Shrug. She took the book out of the fire and held it against her chest and ribs. This shows Liesel s character because it shows how she really is and likes to go against the system. The meaning of the burnings were to burn books and anything made by a Jew. The book was supposed to stay in the fire and burn because it was about a Jewish protagonist. Liesel s character influenced her decision to steal the book out of the

Three days later, his terribly battered body surfaced in the muddy Tallahatchie River where it straightens out for a stretch through the cotton rich flatlands of the delta. His name was Emmett Till. Now of course, the first things that come to mind when the Civil Rights Movement is mentioned are people such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. Parks herself told Mamie Till that it was the image of Emmett s disfigured face in the casket that was on her mind when she refused to give up her seat on the bus, a hundred days after Till s death. Rosa Parks would later be cited as one of Martin Luther King s inspirations for taking on the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which many consider to be the official start of the Civil Rights Movement. Take the foreign market for example where the Ford focus in the United states is a clear C list car that isn t that desirable is a great seller in countries like Germany where it is highly desired. • 22. The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An Object Research Question How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of an object? Introduction Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this motion opposing force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things, though generally perceived as overused, the automobile, could be considered the epitome of friction utilization. The principles of friction applies to everything, especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were perfectly smooth, and to make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle would keep moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia. For this reason, tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of friction, gripping the road tightly and dispersing water when the roadway is wet. Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with friction usage. From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it possible to drive at all. The В¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the most underrated use of friction, a match, something any Neanderthal would have appreciated. • 31. Understanding The Dynamic And Empowering Leadership Process Every day we interact with a variety of people in different situations. Understanding the dynamic of others can help us improve these interactions. We are all different in our own ways, yet at the same time were are all very similar. To be an effective leader, it is important to understand these similarities and differences. Chapter five of Exploring Leadership by Komives describes how differences need to be understood in order to create an inclusive and empowering leadership process. One of the first steps in understandingothers is learning how people build relationships. People build relationships off of commonality. We group upon similar interest, a club, or a characteristic. These relationships create associations. According to Maslow s hierarchy of needs, people need to feel a sense of fulfillment and need to feel like they belong. Relationships help to form this fulfillment. But more importantly, relationships are built off of a common purpose. As leaders, I feel it is very important to understand others so you can adjust your behaviors in order to include everyone. This type of inclusiveness build relationships and helps a leader to serve his goal or purpose. It is also important to recognize groups contain differences. These differences could be caused by genderor culture. Males act and react differently than females. Sometimes we confuse our sex roles for gender roles. For example, women are not the only sex to be nurturing of children. While it is
  • 32. The Role Of Endothelin Receptor Populations On Ventricular... Use of Competitive Radioligand Binding to examine Endothelin Receptor Populations on Ventricular Cardiomyocyte Membranes of Spontaneous Hypertensive Rats. Abstract This investigation concerned the relationship between endothelin receptor populations on the ventricular cardiomyocyte membrane of spontaneous hypertensive rats at 16 weeks old. The use of radioligand competitive binding assay method, involving the displacement of [125I]ET 1 by 3 competitive, cold ligands, ET 1, ET 3 and BQ123, allowed for the generation of competition binding curves, that adopted either a one site or two site model and allowed the determination of relative IC50s and identification of receptor proportions. ET 3 produced a two site model suggesting the existence of ET A and ET B receptors on cardiomyocyte membranes in SHRs and calculated that around 29% of receptors were ET B, whereas ET 1 and BQ123 both produced one site models. Introduction Endothelin peptide family is a group of 3 isoforms of a peptide, comprising of 21 amino acids, all of which are formed from the same larger precursor, pro endothelin 1 by endothelin converting enzyme. (Inoue A et al,1989) Each isoform is distinguished from the others by a differing gene, with endothelin 2 and 3 differing from endothelin 1 by 2 and 6 amino acids, respectively. (Inoue A et al,1989) Endothelin is known mostly as a potent vasopressor, but is also known to have a positive inotropic effect on the heart, act as a proliferator of vascular smooth

The way I look at and feel myself today would readily reveal not only the palpable changes in me but the undeniable transformation that happened to my whole self brought about as a product of my undertaking the Superintendents Leadership Program. A number of my subordinates and local stakeholders have noticed that difference in my person since I subjected myself to the strenuous but enjoyable regiment of the Superintendents Leadership Program. The varied learning I gained from the program has added more intensity and sharpness on the way I enunciated and delivered my thoughts as made evident during my conduct of meetings, delivering speeches or ordinary talks and conversations and most of all when I gave instructions or interpret policies or guidelines. It appears that I am now better understood compared to the time when I was not yet able to set foot at the halls and façade of the Eugenio Lopez Center. On the Test of Integrity There were various occasions in the past that I failed to stand on the test of my personal integrity. At present, I can now say categorically that I understand the people around me better than before. This is made evident during all instances when I had the chance to interact with them. I had the depth and comprehensive understanding of the way people reacted and interacted with me. In the work
  • 34. Patriarchy Of Working-Class Men And Women Throughout the early 1900s, working class men and women struggled to survive. Factory owners exploited their employees, requiring them to work unreasonably long hours in unsafe environments for little pay. Since working class men and women were often poor, they relied on their jobs to generate an income. However, the conditions in which they were forced to work infuriated them. Machines in factories were typically unsafe, and workers hardly received any break time. As a result, working class men and women began to form unions, like the Industrial Workers of the World, in an attempt to gain power over inconsiderate factory owners and fight for more rights. The work of unions to receive better treatment from their employers initiated the Worker s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this time period, patriarchy was prominent within society and heavily reinforced by both men and women. Women were perceived as weak and delicate beings, and were therefore solely thought to be capable of performing housework, such as cooking and cleaning, unlike men. In the first verse of his song, Hill explains that women were expected to live in beautiful mansions and wear the finest of clothes (Hill, Verse 1). The women described in these lines most likely did not work, as those who composed the working class were typically roughened and poor from having to work long hours for little pay. This implies that women were not expected to perform manual labor, but were instead expected to stay in their mansions and do housework, if anything. However, although women were supposed to resemble these qualities due to their supposedly fragile nature, many could not afford to. In reality, multiple women were forced into becoming factory workers, as they were poor and needed to generate an income to survive. Factories hired people that were desperately looking for work willingly, since these individuals were more likely to accept lower pay and allow for the company to generate a greater profit. Therefore, even though these women had to work to survive, the hegemonic ideology that women were too delicate to perform manual labor was contradictory; women were expected to stay home, but were simultaneously hired to work long hours. The song Rebel Girl presents the hegemonic ideology that women were not capable of performing manual tasks in order to expose its inaccuracy. Since Rebel Girl is a song dedicated to working class women, it contributes to the emergent feminist ideology that women could work, like men, despite pre existing beliefs.

Bach raised the bar for how music was composed and played. He strove for perfection in his pieces. This all started from his childhood upbringing, be it his Lutheran faith or the tragedy that stuck when he was merely ten. These parts of his childhood shaped the master pieces of Bach s work. Bach was raised in a family full of composers, and his beautiful voice got him into the best musical schools as a child. Wanting more variety Bach tuned the clavicle differently creating what we now call a Well Tempered clavicle which allowed Bach to compose pieces in keys no one had really composed in before. Bach composed these pieces as he said for the profit of the musical young desirous of learning . Because of these pieces future composers like Mozart learned how to compose music. A few more musical contributions from Bach was the counter points of his music. Each piece of Bach s works, even when played separately, are beautiful but when woven all together much like a tapestry the true beauty of the piece shows. Bach s music is often seen as heavy, this is partly because of dissonances and the emotions it conveys in his works. When it came to music Bach was a passionate man which sometimes got him in conflict with his employers. Even as a young man he showed a desire to liven up his playing and/or composition. This carried out into his life where he tirelessly persued excellence. Bach s works being extremely complex means that even performers must strive for a new form of perfection to play the piece to its full potential. Bach composed his vocal and instrumental pieces the same which often meant the vocalists would go for a long period of notes before being able to take a breath. All these components are what makes Bach s music so beautifully

The first electrical telegraph lines had been built forty years earlier, in the 1830s. These allowed electrical clicks Morse code to be instantly transmitted over great distances. Bell wanted to transmit human speech instead of clicks, and he was getting close to doing it. He had found that human speech came in wave like patterns. He now hoped to produce an electrical wave that would follow the same patterns as someone s speech. After a while he won financial backing from Gardiner Hubbard and Thomas Sanders, two wealthy investors. Hubbard also brought in Anthony Pollok, his patent attorney. In 1875, Bell was 27. Bell and his investors decided the time had come to protect his intellectual property using copyrights. Bell had a copyright written for transmission of speech over an electrical wire. He applied for this patent in the UK, because in those days UK patents were granted only if they had not first been granted in another country. Bell told his attorney to apply in the USA only after his patent had been granted in the UK. By 1876, things in the USA had become darker. In February of that year, Elisha Gray applied for a US patent for a telephone which used a variable resistor based on a liquid: salt water. On the same day, Bell s attorney filed his US patent application. The money enabled Bell to hire Thomas Watson, a skilled electrical engineer, whose knowledge would help Bell s research. Alexander Graham Bell s experiment wasn t a walk in the park, he ran into many obstacles on the way. Some obstacles involved were Alexander s two sons dying of Tuberculosis during his inventing process. Another rough time for Alexander was the time, effort, and work he put into the telephone throughout his timeline. Alexander got through many of his obstacles by doing things he enjoyed like working with the deaf and being around family and people he cared

On both accounts, the CDC failed to obey the proper protocol. In addition to the anthrax being transported in an unsafe manner, the bags in which this material was stored were said to be mislabeled. The anthrax spores were labeled as inactive, when in reality this was not the case. Under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Regulation Reg. 860: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), section 6(2): (2) An employer who produces a hazardous product in a workplace shall ensure that every worker who works with or who may be exposed in the course of his or her work to the hazardous product is informed about all hazard information of which the employer is or ought to be aware concerning the hazardous product and its use, storage and handling. This mislabeling violates this section due to the fact that the workers were misled, thinking the anthrax was inactive. Live anthrax is not only a very harmful pathogen if one is exposed to it, but can be fatal if left untreated. Due to the fact that the Ziploc bag was not even labelled correctly, the workers may not have been aware of the potential exposure they had and thus put their lives at risk unknowingly. The second incident, in which the second lab s operations were halted, came as a result of similar circumstances as

Shakespeare was born in Stratford. His precise birthday is not known, but it is thought to be April 23, because according to church records, he was baptized on April 26, 1564. During this time babies were typically baptized when they were 3 days old. Shakespeare s father was John Shakespeare, who was a glove maker and a tradesman. His mother was Mary Arden. Shakespeare was married to Anne Hathaway on November 1582. Shakespeare was 18 at the time of the wedding and Anne was 26. Their first child, Susanna was born 6 months after the wedding in 1583. In 1585 they had fraternal twins, A son, Hamnet and a daughter named Judith. Hamnet passed away when he was 11 years old, possibly from bubonic plague. Many believe that the play Hamletwas about Hamnet Shakespeares son. After 3 years of marriage, Shakespeare moved to London. His wife Anne and children stayed behind in Stratford. One of my favorite Shakespeare plays is Hamlet. The story develops with the late King Hamlet appearing to his child, requesting retaliation on his sibling, the King Claudius, which is an occasion prone to irritate the Crown Prince. Over the span of the show, Hamlet perseveres through numerous trials of his will and cognise compelling him to reinforce his feelings and the strategies by which he will execute them. Yet, through it
