Needing to produce some kind of deliverables throughout a project is inevitable: it might be user research reports to inform senior stakeholder; usability test results to communicate to developers; sketches and wireframes to pass on to web designers.
Just as we make the products and services we design easy to use, the UX of UX is about communicating your thinking in a way that ensures that what you've defined is easy to understand for the reader. It's about adapting the work you do to the project in question and finding the right balance of making people want to look through your work whilst not spending unnecessary time on making it pretty.

ABSTRACT
Today’s global economy is a very complex and hard to read environment. Competition is fierce and being the first to ‘get it right’ when designing new products could be decisive. With so much at stake, many companies have turned to trends research as a way to differentiate their products. This work starts by looking into the current theoretical evidence that is available, aiming at making sense of how the issue has been portrayed in academic and commercial literature.
The research itself was conducted in two steps: a quantitative study and a qualitative one. In the quantitative strand the aim was to understand how trend reports have been used in new product development and what opinion was had held about them by their users. The results indicate that trend reports were frequently being used but not thought of as an essential tool. In the qualitative step the aim was to drill down specifically on the opinions and expectations of product designers for trend research and reports. The results show that there was a discrepancy of expectations between designers and management about what trend reports are, how they should be used, and what they should be used for. And finally, five possible roles of trend reports for product designers were identified: source of discoveries, boundary objects, brand compasses, sparks and recipe books.
There are key things that will give you a much better chance at success. While these are well documented in numerous books, articles, and videos - there are still many stakeholders that don't subscribe to some basic truths, like: product decisions should be based on evidence, or having dedicated UX Designers on product teams.
Jeremy will go over his top ten questions to ask any team to see if they're heading toward launching a great product experience.

Interior design in India has come a long way. It has gained autonomy from Architecture and is no longer reduced to just decoration and furnishings. It sees space as a living environment, and is a holistic resolution of the socio-cultural, emotional and resource conditions of the context it represents.
In this report, we have explored interior design trends in the context of modernization and Indian and global influences. Trends in India are many, given the diversity factor. Add to India’s rich and varied cultural heritage, the new wave of progressive development in both urban and rural areas, and diversity only deepens. In the past, each region had its own distinct characteristic elements. Although even today, places have their own design language, the ‘genius loci’ or the spirit of the place has undergone minor to massive changes. While some old features continue to exist, some others have reinvented themselves, while still others have merged with influences from other quarters, with the world becoming a much smaller place. Developments in technology have accelerated the change and recession has seen the birth of new trends in certain sectors. And in an era of green living, almost everything revolves around eco-friendliness.
Given the current day scenario, it is indeed difficult to fit all the trends signifying India into a few pages. In realizing that, we chose a path, where we scanned the most prominent trends in a few sectors namely, housing, retail, hospitality and corporate. These trends are more depictive of the Indian urban lifestyle, and of course, are not free from influences of rural elements. What we have done in compiling these trends is to give a bird’s eye view of interior design in the urban scenarios, some of which have a deep, yet new cultural significance and others that are highly relevant to fast-paced global India.
This trend study looks at 12 interior design trends across 4 sectors, Residential, Retail, Hospitality and Corporate, depicts them through 18 examples, peeps into the future and offers directional pointers as well.
Useful for designers, architects, developers, consultants, professionals in various sectors and ideators who are interested in this creative line of thinking.
This is my second lecture about experience design at HITLab i Ne Zealand. As designers we have this amazing opportunity to change the world, thus, in fact, we always design for the future and not the present. I believe that it is crucial to understand the changes that transform our societies not only from the economical or social perspective but also from the technological one. Trends allow us to see what the future could be like and provide inspiration to change it in a way be trust would be the best.
Rapid Product Design Using Lean UX Methods [Tradecraft : May 2014]Kate Rutter

In this 120 minute workshop, Tradecraft members practiced rapid techniques to envision a product concept that is driven by user needs. Early on as a Designer I had the privilege to work with some big brands, like: Verizon, Mission Foods, Nokia, and Sabre. Most of my projects were rooted in web applications. Which I loved, and was more than happy to work on as a UX Designer. But some designers took other paths, working on e-commerce sites, or perhaps lead generation. What has been hard to find recently is someone who's done both. I know I didn't know e-commerce to the degree I needed to when starting at GameStop - but learned quickly - luckily I've had some good teachers over the last couple of years.
Now talking about channels, bounce rate, A/B testing, conversion, SEM/SEO in the norm. And as I loved designing applications, I find equal interest in what makes people shop and (hopefully) eventually buy.

Android vs iPhone - Differences in UI Patterns and DesignJeremy Johnson
While using Android over the past couple of weeks i’ve noticed some things when comparing my top apps to iOS. Both iOS and Android, in different cases, choose different UI elements to do different things. I wanted to catalog some of them here.
Overall I’d say that mainstream Android apps have improved over time, and in many cases (Spotify, Evernote, NPR, and Amazon) I liked the Android versions better. Also with design trends moving to blocky designs and flat colors (like Windows 8) - Android looks more modern in a side-by-side comparison to its iOS counterpart.
If anything this shows that there are very few standard patterns that are used 100% of the time on each OS, but there is risk of confusion from someone expecting one thing - like they have an iPad tablet, but an Android phone - and getting different results when switching between devices.
