Breakthrough Productivity - How to Get S*!# Done (for Online Entrepreneurs)Shane Melaugh
What really separates successful online businesses from the millions of people who TRY to make it for themselves, but never succeed?
And what about the major problem so many online entrepreneurs face: information overload and overwhelm? You get bombarded with messages (often conflicting) from all sides. How do you cut through all this noise and find focus?
And finally, does positive visualization actually help?
These are the three main points discussed in this presentation. You might find the answers shocking (but very useful).

I Built It and They Didn't Come - A Technology Adoption SagaColumbus Brown
You were told “Build It And They Will Come”, but few showed up or stayed for long. In this session we will walk through a field of dreams marked by sites and solutions that were expertly built, yet abandoned or under-utilized. Root causes of this Saga will be explored and you will be provided with practical methods and tools to end the negative trend of poor adoption.
People Over Process: Turning Assumptions into Shared Understandingmjovel
Every project is based on a number of assumptions. Assumptions about our users and assumptions that our team has a shared vision of what we are building and why we are building it. The longer we hold onto these assumptions, the greater we increase the risk of not meeting our users needs and ultimately, our project fails.
This talk will be about how we ensure we are meeting our users needs. In addition to learning project workflow, we will cover specific techniques that you can use to ensure that the user is at the center of our design and that you create a shared understanding among your team.
Building Buy-In: Internally Positioning UX for Executive Impact. BigDesign...John Whalen
Presented at: BigDesign2016
Why can’t other people in your organization see what you see? That UX insights you uncovered will revolutionize your company and delight your customers like never before! Doesn’t everyone “get” UX nowadays?
The truth is more complicated than just recognizing UX value: Your professional goals and focus are different than those of others in your organization (e.g., C-Suite, Product Managers, Marketers, Developers) by design. What to do? Learn how to position and present your work for maximum uptake to ensure UX has a sizeable and valuable impact on your products and customer experience.
We reveal what we have learned – often the hard way – about linking UX research and design with organizational goals and strategic directives.
With a little planning, you can to ensure your creative UX work has an influence and actually sees the light of day when the product is launched.

Boost SharePoint User Adoption Through DIY Usability Testing [workshop] Share...Mark Tiderman
A great UX plays a foundation role in the success of any SharePoint project, and the secret to great UX is usability testing.
In this workshop we will…
- Build a case for the business value in doing in-house usability tests.
- Teach through the basics of getting a usability test setup.
- Lead a “live” usability test as a workshop with volunteers from the session as we test out a real SharePoint app.
- Teach and lead a roundtable discussion on analyzing the results and make actionable next steps.
- Recommend the tools and resources to make DIY usability testing accessible to everyone.
Kanban is phantastic in the support the flow of product development and self improvement of teams in that area. However, at each time the process defined through Kanban poses an impediment to work in the creative field. While Kanban may very well fit to work in the domains of product maintenance and iterative, feature by feature innovation, it does not support evolutionary or disruptive innovation. These types of innovation dip slightly or even more into chaos and are completely non linear processes which simply do not fit the Kanban board and process. The talk will show how to protect innovation from delivery and otoh how to create the necessary level of communication between these areas w/o creating silos.
Startups should exist to solve problems, but not many actually do.
This session takes a lessons learned approach to breaking down the 3 most important elements to product-market fit - problem/human need, customer and the solution. It involves a iterative approach based on lean startup thinking and involves building tests that helps founders gather more targeted customer data that will affect branding, user acquisition and product development.

12 Rules for Building Your Product Management PlaybookJeremy Horn
Slides Ian Moulton recently used in his discussion w/ mentees of The Product Mentor.
The Product Mentor is a program designed to pair Product Mentors and Mentees from around the World, across all industries, from start-up to enterprise, guided by the fundamental goals…Better Decisions. Better Products. Better Product People.
Throughout the program, each mentor leads a conversation in an area of their expertise that is live streamed and available to both mentee and the broader product community.
http://TheProductMentor.com
This is a crash course in new product marketing. In less than 30 slides you'll learn how to develop a new product concept, build a business plan to turn this concept into a reality, as well as how to craft a marketing plan to help you sell this product. You'll find these step-by-step slides easy to understand and, by the end, be in a better position to launch your idea to the world.
How to bring products to market with efficiency? How to learn what customer values and buy product for? If you have these questions and this session will help you get started! In this session we will go over different product development methodologies which can be used to bring products to markets in time and on budget. We will look at different agile development methodologies including scrum, which is very popular. And then finally we will look at lean startup framework and methods, which is great way to look beyond just development of product i.e. developing right product or sell-able product which customer would buy.
Lean Analytics - Communication Layer into the World of BusinessBen Yoskovitz
Lean Analytics is more than just understanding what to track and when. Lean Analytics (and data in general) is about communication within an organization. This is a 1-day workshop I conducted at CrunchConf 2016 in Budapest with a group of data analysts and data scientists to help them understand their role, through the use of analytics, within a larger organization.
Presented at Ford's 2017 Global IT Learning Summit (GLITS)Ron Lazaro
Presentation Details: The best way to think about product discovery is to think about it in relation to product delivery. It's not possible to build a product without doing both discovery and delivery. Discovery encompasses all the activities that we do to decide what to build. It includes all the decisions we make to decide what to build next, whereas delivery is all the activities we do to write code, package releases, ship products. It's how we deliver value to our customers.
Key takeaway for the participants will be to help them understand the difference between Product Discovery and Product Delivery and how to apply techniques in doing both.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
