Analysis Of The Political Cartoon
The political cartoon uses several outlets to reach its audience. It is describing the turmoil with the war
in the Middle East and discussion of feminism. It does this in the following ways; through the
audience its speaking to, the message it wishes to instill on them, symbols, and emotions.
I believe the artist of the political cartoon was sending a message to young women that want to be
treated equally as men. As shown in the cartoon, women are already in the front lines in battle. Heads
over the military declare that soon women will serve on front lines alongside their fellow man. The
cartoonist explains through his drawing that women are already fighting on the front lines. They want
the American public to know that they take care

Loyalty Scores
I feel my scores are accurate as it should be in some situations. The reason I feel like my scores are
accurate is because my scores depend on my behavior and the attitude on the basis on my day to day
activities which mostly time I feel the same everyday about these kind of activities. Therefore, I would
give them the same score on my scale even after a week because there are not much I would change in
my opinion about them. My scores depend on who I m today. The reason I feel like my novelty score
is high because I like to be open minded about new things and unfamiliar situations. Here is an
example of a high novelty score, in India, when I was in 3rd grade, one day at school my teacher gave
us a project for science where the instructions were very unclear, she did not give us any steps how to

This is something very unfamiliar situation that happens in classroom that any teacher would give this
to a 3rd grade students, an assignment without giving them the complete instructions. Therefore, I
would rate this example, as five somewhat agree because it helps us see new things and unfamiliar
situation from a different perspective. Another example of novelty can be from my past experience is
when I took a tour to Agra where they have the prettiest places such as Taj Mahal, which was created
for a queen, Mumtaz Mahal by her husband. This situation deals with novelty because this is
something that many people will be unfamiliar with or will be a new information for them which they
will view this at something else at first when they will hear at very first time. As most people will be
shocked and surprised from hearing this story since it will be new and something that they never
thought of before that somebody can do this for someone

unfortunate Tom will have a nightmare to remember because this was the very thing he dreamt of , but
now he wants nothing to do with it.. During this turmoil and historical occurrence not only the boys
were perplexed, but also the imperial court of his majesty King Henry the VIII. The noble court heard
a rumor that Prince Edward perchance has gone mad. As the boys embark on this new journey of their

The War On The Front Lines
The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The Great
War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918.
The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind the ongoing war
changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers declined heavily, and
this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured their accounts of these
changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldier s diary that accurately depicts mutiny on
the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in the amount of recruits and supplies
available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the general feelings behind the war as time
went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At the beginning of the war, the duties behind
what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated and they were held above others as heroes. People
of warring countries were rushing to battle and their loved ones were supporting them all of the way.
Battalions were even formed from work groups, as they already withheld an established chain of
command, the members had a close knit bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing
the country they worked in. The glorified fighting and risking of one s life was soon changed.
The way the war was fought also fiercely changed. The battle techniques early on in 1914

Essay On Reaping What You Paid
Reaping What You Sow Imagine working hard every day, putting in multiple ours of practicing and

situation with college athletes. College sports are a huge responsibility for these athletes and basically
their living. They put in multiple hours weekly and always have busy schedules between their sport
and school and for this they should be compensated. College athletics are a full time job , athletes

Hypnosis Persuasive Speech
am absolutely sure you ve heard about Hypnosis. Either as being a procedure of treating wounds of
the heart and soul (past) or as an alternative remedy for a variety of physical health situations. Some
years ago hypnosis was a privilege of an elite of people who understood how to practice the secrets
and techniques of the art. They had the right information. Of course, they chose to keep the precious
info away from the masses.
As a hypnosis specialist for more than 10 years now, I feel I am able to write a little something useful,
especially for those who haven t yet dived in the magical realm of hypnosis!
So, in this article I will try to clear the field for you and tell you exactly what you will need to have to
emerge as a real hypnotist. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Did you know you possessed certain psychic talents? Qualities provided to you from your creator
before you were given birth to! As you arrived on our planet however (as a new child), you forgot all
about it. This loss of memory effect was constantly enhanced as you brought up with bogus and
restrictive beliefs.
Okay! It s definitely not your fault. But it surely will be, if you do nothing at all about it now that you
know what went down. So, with hypnosis it is possible to uncover all those impressive psychic
(paranormal should you prefer) abilities of yours. Might be remedial powers or intuitive skills and so
on, you are a specialist in a certain field without being aware of it most of the times. But you can
uncover the whole real truth!
This is how hypnosis can certainly help BUT you must initially confirm to yourself that you really
possess those abilities. And you are not the only human being on the earth with those advantages! So
keep confirming and having faith and you will be led to where you wish to be (having all the right
information in your hands)...
And that s all to get started with Hypnosis!
But before I leave you I wish to provide you with one final word of

Selecting Select A Coaching Style
In order to determine what behaviors would be effective in inspiring James to be productive, James s
supervisor needs to make select a coaching style that would be most effective in encourage James to
develop his skills, knowledge, and capabilities. According to Aguinis (2013), there are four different
coaching styles: driver, persuader, amiable, and analyzer (p. 233). The driver style describes a tactic
that entails the coach taking a directive approach to coaching the employee (Aguinis, 2013, p. 233).
According to Aguinis (2013), a coach who use the driver style tends to be assertive and quick to speak
and usually speak about tasks and facts and usually omits personal feelings (p. 233). Conversely, the
persuader coaching style describes an approach in which the coach explains the benefits of the coach s
directives (Aguinis, 2013, p. 233). Aguinis (2013) states that, like the driver coaching style, the
persuader coaching style denotes coaches that are assertive, yet talk more about feelings and
relationships (p. 233). Aguinis (2013) also states that the amiable coaching style emphasizes the
importance of feelings and intuition as a guiding principle in coaching (p. 233). Lastly, the analyzer
coaching style is inclined to follow logic, rules, and standardized procedures (Aguinis, 2013, p. 233).
In addition, the analyzer coaching style is likely to enlist the use of facts and tasks in its approach,
much like the tactics used in the driver coaching style (Aguinis,

Video Games And Violence Effects On Children Essay
Today, people spend excessive amounts of time watching TV or playing video games. Although not all
television shows and games endorse violence, the majority of them do. This violence can have severe
personality effects on children if unmonitored. Some of these effects include depression, aggression,
or lack of morals which can affect children later on in life.
I Time spent playing video games
In a study conducted by Dr. Brent, Conrad we discovered that the minority population on average
spend ample amount of time playing video games. Surprisingly by age 4, Nearly half the population
has played a video game. Within the next 4 years of a child s life that numbers jump to around 81%
who have played some form of video game. Conrad also finds that children under the age 8 typically
play video games for 25 minutes a day.(Dr.Brent Conrad [2]).
II Time spent watching TV Furthermore, in a follow up study regarding the time spent watching TV
Dr.Conrad finds some outrageous numbers. Analyzing the data we find that 66% of all children under
the age of 2 have watched television at one point in their life. By age 8 this number skyrockets to a
whopping 96%. On average 65% of them watch tv daily for about an hour and a half or 100 minutes to
be
Lanier 2 exact. Dr.Conrad also concludes that by age 8 60% have played a game or used a portable
device such as an iPhone iPad or tablet and 90% have used a computer.(Dr.Brent Conrad [2]).

My Own Device ( Byod ) And Risks Associated With It
Abstract
This paper is about Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and risks associated with it. The conditions for
risks to occur, the managerial and technical solutions to such risks are discussed.
Introduction
BYOD or Bring Your Own Device refers to the policy of permitting employees to bring personally
owned mobile devices (laptops, tablets, and smart phones) to their workplace, and to use those devices
to access privileged company information and applications (Bradley December 20, 2011). This
concept is a growing trend for the information technology and many more business sectors.
Businesses that appreciate Bringing Your Own Devices have some advantages over the others. For
instance, the costs tend to shift towards the BYOD user instead of ... Show more content on

However there are an equal amount of risks involved with this. Security has been the primary concern.
A superior authority monitoring the employees all the time is impossible. The manager has no right to
access the devices of the workers as they are private. Also this might reduce productivity if the
employees lose focus on work and use their devices for entertainment or personal benefits. Using and
misusing data, network or resources in the workplace for personal gain. In some cases, data can be
stolen from the organization using such devices causing loss or theft of data. Hence there is lack if
control and potential malware threats (Pillay, Diaki et al. 2013).
Trend Drivers for BYOD BYOD is gaining high popularity and growth which is evident from the
Ovum s research paper published in 2012. Respondents in the emerging, high growth markets
(including Brazil, Russia, India, UAE, and Malaysia) demonstrate a much higher propensity to use
their own device at work. Almost 75% of users in these countries did so, compared to 44% in the more
mature developed markets. The research revealed that 79% of employees in high growth markets
believe that constant connectivity with work applications enables them to their job better, versus
53.5% in mature markets. There is a distinct lack of BYOD management everywhere. On average only
20.1% of employees who use personal devices have also signed a policy governing that behaviour.
USA and India are nearer to 50%. The

The HC SR04 module is a distance sensor which utilises ultrasonic signal to conduct its readings.
From the datasheet, it has range of 2cm to 400cm and it uses 40kHz sound waves2. The Trig pin
(input) is used to trigger an ultrasonic pulse, while the Echo pin (output) produces a signal when the
pulse is detected. The Vcc pin is connected to 5V and the GND is connected to the ground pin.
The module was connected as shown in Figure 1b and ran the python program project D c.py to test
the distance measurement. This program outputs the distance detected by the HC SRO4. The voltage
signal from the Trig and Echo pins were connected to an oscilloscope through different channels and
the amplitude and timing were compared. It could be seen that signal for the Trig has amplitude of 5V
and occurs immediately before the Echo , which had an amplitude of ≈ 2V. The Echo pin normally
produces a voltage of 5V, but with the addition of the 1k resistor, the output voltage is lowered to
about 2V. The resistor is there to protect the GPIO pins

Mechanisms of Axon Guidance
Axons are sensitive and their respond depend on the local environment. When the tectum is removed,
retinal axons grow toward the missing tissue, demonstrating that optic axons utilize these
neighbourhood signals as opposed to a long run diffusible attractant from the tectum as they grow
along the optic tract (Taylor, 1990). In the event of a small piece of the optic tract neuroepithelium is
turned 90° preceding the axons enter it, then they become misoriented when they enter the pivoted
transplant (Harris, 1989) and correct their course of growth once they exit. These results confirm that
the neuroepithelium contains local information to which growing axons respond and that they are not
simply following gradients of attractants released by their targets (Sanes et al., 2012). Growth cone
filopodia are long, motile, and covered with receptors, also have a very high surface to volume ratio,
which can help convert membrane signals into large changes in intracellular messengers such as
calcium. Filopodia can show localized transient elevations of intracellular calcium and these transients
reduce filopodial motility (Sanes et al., 2012). Calcium transients can be directly artificially activated
in growth cone filopodia by loading neurons with a calcium caging agent that releases calcium upon
stimulation with a pulse of light (Gomez et al., 2001). Experiments in which calcium is uncaged on
one side of a growth cone generally cause the growth cone to turn toward the side that has

Education Is An Important Part Of Life
Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never
ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste
such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can
continually improve his or her education. In today s culture, an educated person should spend more
time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces
the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking.
Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless
of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more
knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she
may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the
word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader s mind because
each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first
time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times
when the reader uses the word s definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions
build a reader s vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a

Subconscious Habits
You know you shouldn t. You made a decision that you weren t going to do this anymore. You know it
s the right thing to do. You know that your life will be better for it. But, You do it anyway.
All the while you tell yourself that it s okay because this is the last time. You re only going to do it
once more and then you ll quit. After all, it s always easier to quit tomorrow than it is today.
If you have a bad habit you know this scenario all too well. It seems like it ought to be easy. We all
have free will right? Just stop. If only it were that easy.
You see, our habits aren t really controlled by our conscious mind. The powerful and compelling
emotions and cravings that drive us toward our bad behavior come from our subconscious mind. ...

You rationalize it, telling yourself that one more time won t hurt. You ll quit after that.
Pretty quick you ve told your self just this one more time every day for the last year. The whole thing
is maddening and ridicules all at once. And the sad fact is, you are bound to continue in this kind of
cycle until you re write the subconscious mental scripts that are driving your destructive behavior.
Once that s done you can hardly keep your bad habit alive, even if you want to. Once your
subconscious mind has been convinced that you no longer have a particular habit you will no longer
feel those terrible, nearly irresistible, cravings and urges for your habit. Then it s just a matter of
making good choices. And that s easy when you aren t a slave to those horrible feelings you get when
you don t indulge in your vice.
Self hypnosis can be a powerful tool for helping you overcome almost any destructive habit or

mastered self hypnosis you will be able to apply it to any area of your life for easy personal

Human Rights Act 1998 ( Hra )
Section C: 8
Before the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA) coming into force, the UK subscribed to a weak judicial
review. However, the Act has brought a drastic change into the practice of judicial review in the UK.
In this essay, I shall argue that with the new powers conferred to the courts under sections 3 and 4 (ss
3 and 4) of the HRA, they have developed a mechanism which allows the court to communicate with
Parliament through their interpretations although the practice of judicial review remains relatively
weak . I shall also argue that the courts should continue the adoption of the new approach to judicial
review in the UK to counterbalance and limit the possibility of State violations of fundamental human
rights of individuals whilst still keeping the principle of parliamentary sovereignty intact.
A weak judicial review is a creation of statute (i.e. the HRA) that reviews the legitimacy of executive
powers to ensure the Government acts within the scope of power Parliament has conferred to them.
Compared to a strong judicial review, the UK courts have neither the power to strike down a primary
legislation nor can they review legislation decisions. A weakness of strong judicial review is that it
would undermine the principles of separation of powers and parliamentary sovereignty that underpin
the UK Constitution as it would allow the courts to put legal constraints on Parliament. Therefore, the
judiciary should respect the Parliament s decisions and remain the

When we come out only once a month, most of the ideas that were relevant at the time of story ideas

teams and then alternate section responsibilities every issue, like a block schedule of sorts. To
illustrate what I m saying, let s apply this bimonthly publication practice to the Opinions section. In
this example, I would create the Opinions page for the first publication of the month, and Ohana
would create it for the second. Editors and reporters would both have the same amount of work per
month as we do with the current press schedule as there would be the same total pages made and
articles written. By dividing up monthly 12 page issues into bimonthly 6 page ones, the Wolfpacket
would be able to address more pressing and current issues within a reasonable time frame without
demanding much extra work from the

Autopsy Of Anna Garcia
Introduction On August 14, 2011 thirty eight year old Anna Garcia was found dead in her home. She is
a hispanic female who weighs 165 lbs and is 64 inches tall. Doug Greene, Anna s neighbor, contacted
911 at 9:45 a.m. to report his concerns for his neighbor. Police and emergency personnel arrived at the
scene at 9:56 a.m. Preceding the day of Anna s death, Doug spoke to her when he saw her walking her
dog around 6:30 a.m. She was wearing a sweater even though they were currently experiencing a heat
wave. The day of her death her dog was excitedly barking for two hours. Doug attempted to call Anna
but there was no answer. He then tried ringing her doorbell and again was left with no answer. For the
police and EMT to enter the house the front door had to be broken down. When the police and EMT
entered the house, Anna was found lying face down in the entry hallway. The EMT determined Anna
dead at the scene. The temperature inside of the house was a comfortable 73 degrees fahrenheit. An
autopsy of Anna s body took place on August 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. performed by Dr. King. There are

Pursuing A Master s Degree
Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines
how well you do it . These inspiring words from Lou Holtz have kept me motivated towards my goals
and encouraged me to aim high in life. After a good deal of self evaluation I have decided to pursue a
Master s degree in Computer Science in my areas of interest: Artificial Intelligence and Distributed
Systems (Cloud Computing) . This decision followed naturally after carefully analysing my academic
background, my areas of interest, and my long term career objective, which is to pursue a research
career either as a teaching faculty in a university, or in an R D department of the industry.

The Huntington Disease Essay
This paper discusses one of the most well known neurodegenerative diseases named Huntington s.
Recent statistical records showed that the disease is widely spread around the world. Scientists have
conducted many researches in order to study the mode of inheritance of the disease as well as to find a
possible cure for it. They discovered that the disease is genetically inherited from one generation to
another. The aim of this scientific paper is to provide information about this genetic disorder including
its history, genetics, inheritance, mechanism, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and some of the
current researches being conducted to study the nature of this disorder. Huntington s disease has

Sir William Osler showed interest in the Huntington disease and was completely astonished with the
Huntington disease paper that he read. With his knowledge and persistence in the medical field, Osler
contributed in spreading the awareness of the disorder throughout the medical community. Another
biologist, Cahrales Dvenport, who had his desire fueled by Jelliffe s research in the disorder, provided
outstanding contributions in exploring the disease. One of them is detecting the mode of inheritance
and the variability, such as the age of onset of the disease. The research community has further
investigated the disorder for decades. In 1983, the Venezuelan collaborative research project estimated
the location of the HD gene using genetic linkage analysis. It was the first autosomal dominant gene to
be discovered using this particular method and found that the gene is situated at 4p16.3. In 1996,
modeling the disease in transgenic mice opened the door to new experiments. Sine these mice have a
high metabolism rate and a short lifespan; the results can be collected in a fast manner, thus
minimizing the time needed for conducting the research. In 1997, the discovery of nuclear inclusions
in the mHTT fragments gave way to more advanced

Morgan Motor Company
Morgan Motor Company (MMC) began as a family company and has remained that way over the
years. Decisions were largely driven by steady demand for their luxury product. Traditionally, decision
making was premised on production quotas that kept supply slightly behind demand. While the
company made a profit, it was not enough to sustain the company in the long term due increasing
costs caused by inefficient methods of production. The key area for improvement was strategic
planning based on detailed and accurate information. The implementation of the strategic plan would
require a review of human resource management practices in order for MMC to develop into an
organisation that valued continuous innovation.
MMC could gain valuable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first instance, focus should be on developing managers to help facilitate organisational change
(Waldersee, 1997) and enable them to be effective role models within the company. Training solutions
and interventions should target general areas such as effective teamwork and communication,
motivating workers and encouraging innovation. Additionally, where there are identified skills gaps, it
should also target content specific areas e.g. contemporary sales and marketing practices would make
up for the sales director s lack of recent sales experience. Once again, Charles was led by example by
enrolling in an MBA, thus demonstrating his commitment to ongoing education and development.
Although collectivism has traditionally been associated with eastern cultures (Härtel, Fujimoto,
Straybosch, Fitzpatrick, 2007), motor companies like Ford and Toyota moved away from Taylorism
and demonstrated the value of teamwork in vehicle manufacturing (Winfield Kerrin, 1996). However,
MMC s reward system of individual production bonuses did not acknowledge the value of teamwork.
Moreover, an unspecified dollar amount that was eroded by inefficiencies in the production process
did not provide an incentive to improve production. Not only should these individual production
bonuses be quantified, the company should also consider a reward system for foremen to acknowledge
their efforts in encouraging individuals and teams to achieve higher production.

Self-Acquaintance And John Winthrop s City Upon A Hill
For our second week of school, we learned about the different Puritan ideals and how they influenced
our society today. In this essay, I will discuss one of those many ideals and provide evidence to defend
that it is, indeed, a Puritanical ideal that can be found in many early colonial pieces of literature, such
as Self Acquaintance by William Cooper, Here followes some verses upon the burning of our house,
July 10th, 1666 by Anne Bradstreet, and John Winthrop s City Upon A Hill, 1630. Loyalty to God, or
faith, is a Puritan ideal.
Faith is a Puritan ideal as shown in many early colonial works. In Self Acquaintance by William
Cooper, the speaker begins to question his faith before stating, Oh, cleanse me in a Saviour s
blood,/Transform me by thy pow r,/And make me thy beloved abode,/And let me rove no more. As he
begins to wander from his faith, he cries out to God, his Saviour, to cleanse him from the sin of
doubting his faith. In Anne Bradstreet s Here followes some verses upon the burning of our house,

Heroes Proved The 2016 election was a turning point for many individuals in the United States, not
least of which were members of the LGBT community. In mid July, President Trump made an
announcement over Twitter that resulted in upheaval and uncertainty for those serving in the military:
transgender soldiers would no longer be allowed to serve in the military in any capacity. The ban of
transgender troops in the military, made in a highly unorthodox manner, should have no major
financial repercussions but may cause many social issues. While the decision has caused open turmoil

12). More trans soldiers have expressed their concern that when Donald Trump attacks what America
calls its heroes or its warrior class, it means it s only a matter of time before he starts attacking and
dissembling the American public, and that s what I have the most fear of (Burns and Lucey, para. 16).
However, many politicians are fortunately against the ban, saying that gender identity should not be
relevant in the military selection process, and to choose service members on other grounds than
military qualifications is social policy and has no place in our military (Burns and Lucey, para. 31).
Perhaps most controversial about the interdiction is Trump s use of the word burden when describing
the financial impact of transition related healthcare, leading to discussion of the financial aspect of the
ban. The costs of transition related healthcare and the effect on the military s readiness and lethality
were the main concerns stated in Trump s announcement. In a series of tweets, Trump said allowing
transgender troops to serve is an unacceptable burden on the military s ability to fight and win wars
(Burns and Lucey para. 24). The Pentagon would not provide an estimate of the costs; however, it is
estimated that these costs would only equal about one percent of the military s budget. The Rand

Nervous System Analysis
As we do simple actions in our life we start to do them so often that we don t even realize how and
when we are doing them. For example when we get ready to ride a bike we just get on the bike and go,
because we have done it so many times that it just comes naturally to us. Another example is watching
a scary movie and putting popcorn in our mouth at the same time. Well it is our nervous system that
helps us to do these simple actions because it handles information. When our phone rings there are a
number of functions that go on in our brain. The first thing would be our neurons in the auditory
cortex which picks up the sound of the ringing phone, neuron functions are then going to relay the
information to higher areas to process what s going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They supply nourishment to neurons, help remove neurons waste products, and provide insulation
around many axons. The primary role is to shield synapses from the chatter of surrounding neuronal
activity, enhancing the signal to noise ratio in the nervous system. The Neural Impulse uses energy to
send information. The resting potential of a neuron is its stable, negative charge when the cell is
inactive An action potential is a very brief shift in a neurons electrical charge that travels along the
axon. After firing the action potential the channels in the cell membrane that opened now close up.
Some time is needed before they are ready to open and fire again. The absolute refractory period is the
minimum length of time after an action potential, during which another action potential cannot begin.
Special junctions called synapses which depend on chemical messengers. A synaptic cleft is a
microscopic gap between the terminal button of 1 neuron and the cell membrane of another neuron.
The neuron that sends a signal across the gap is called the presynaptic neuron, and the neuron that
receives the signal is called the postsynaptic neuron. The arrival of an action potential at an axon s
terminal buttons triggers the release of neurotransmitters chemicals that transmit information from 1
neuron to another. Most of these chemicals are stored in small sacs called synaptic vesicles. Receptor
sites are tuned to recognize and respond to some neurotransmitters but not to others. When a
neurotransmitter and a receptor molecule combine, reactions in the cell membrane cause a
postsynaptic potential, a voltage change at a receptor site on a postsynaptic cell membrane. They are
graded which means that they vary in size and that they increase or decrease the probability of a
neural impulse in the receiving cell in proportion to the amount of voltage change. An excitatory PSP

Roll Back The Red Carpet for Boys 1. The allusion of the red carpet refers to the red carpet treatment
that is given to hosts of considerable status. Nowadays, red carpets are literally rolled out for functions
with celebrities and movie stars alike. 2. In her essay, LaFramboise delivers a powerful and thought
provoking message about the untrue belief that society has lead us to believe. That is, that males have
an easier red carpet, like experience in life. 3. When LaFramboise writes, Girls are victims of
circumstance and boys are masters of their own fate. Girls are moulded and manipulated by the social
pressures; boys make conscious choices. Girls get to blame everyone but themselves; everyone gets to
blame boys. Wasn t feminism supposed to be about abolishing double standards? She is connoting at
the clear double standards that have been placed on males. Stating that girls are not held responsible
for their own decisions and faults, rather an external source of control is to blame. However, males are
solely responsible for their own flaws. 4. a) An example of statistics is the statement Between the ages

Coal Mining As Environmental Health Issue
There is a common bond throughout Kentucky that stretches from western to eastern state lines that
unites many Kentuckians. This common thread is coal mining. Window decals proudly proclaiming
Coal miner s daughter , friend of coal license plates, and yard signs declaring Coal keeps the lights on
are only a fraction of the coal mining propaganda frequently seen throughout my community. There is
an allure to being a coal miner not only because it is a high paying job that does not require a college
degree, but also because being a coal miner evokes a sense of pride within people. However due to the
occupational hazards and coal s impact on the environment, coal mining also poses as a very real
environmental health issue for not only my community in western Kentucky but the entire state as
well. This research paper aims to describe coal mining as environmental health issue, explain the
potential health risks of working in and living near coal mines, identifying regulations and laws
concerning the issue, describe the industry s response to this issue, describe my community s response
to this issue, and identify needs and nursing interventions required for affected aggregates.

Sandra Day O Connor
Throughout history many U.S. Supreme Court Justices have served for numerous years on the
Supreme court making final decisions on diverse cases that have created long lasting impacts. The
current supreme court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and former justice Sandra Day O Connor have not
only made an impact but are proof that women are equal to men when it comes to court room
decisions. Throughout the essay I will explain the background of the justice, the president who
appointed them, and the accomplishments made on the Supreme Court. Sandra Day O Connor was the
first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. A Republican, she was considered a moderate
conservative and served for 24 years. Born on March 26, 1930, in El Paso, Texas, Sandra Day O
Connor spent part of her youth on her family s Arizona ranch. She graduated from Stanford University
in 1950 with a bachelor s degree in economics, O Connor attended the university s law school and
received her degree in 1952, graduating third in her class. As opportunities for women lawyers were
limited at the time she had to work without pay at a county attorney in California San Mateo region.
From 1954 57, O Connor moved overseas and served as a civilian lawyer for the Quartermaster
Masker Center in Frankfurt, Germany. She returned home in 1958 and settled in Arizona. There she
worked at a private practice before returning to public service, acting as the state s assistant attorney

The United States And The Native Americans Essay
The United States and the Native Americans have a rich historical background. Though on the surface
it is filled with hatred and injustice, there are a lot more complex interactions once thoroughly
examined. The U.S, once a colony of the Europeans, eventually grew into the strong standing nation
that it is today. Meanwhile the original inhabitants, the Native Americans, often received the
aggression and oppression of this growing nation, but they weren t the savages the U.S. claimed them
to be. In fact, the Iroquois Confederacy was the main influence of the U.S Constitution. This paper
will discuss the differences as well as the similarities, which are thought to be controversial, between
these two historical documents.
The difference between the two groups has been very apparent for the hundreds of years they
cohabited. For the Native Americans everything about the American culture clashed greatly with their
own beliefs and systems within their own community. An example would be how their community
was mainly led by the idea of equality and a voice for everyone, no matter how young or old.
According to Grinde s analysis, Iroquois political philosophy was transmitted through the social
education of the young and power [was] equally distributed male and female, young and old [rather]
than in European American society (236). The Iroquois also placed a tremendous amount of
importance in teaching the younger people about politics so they had enough education to be able to

The reason I feel like my scores are accurate is because my scores depend on my behavior and the attitude on the basis on my day to day activities which mostly time I feel the same everyday about these kind of activities. Therefore, I would give them the same score on my scale even after a week because there are not much I would change in my opinion about them. My scores depend on who I m today. The reason I feel like my novelty score is high because I like to be open minded about new things and unfamiliar situations. Here is an example of a high novelty score, in India, when I was in 3rd grade, one day at school my teacher gave us a project for science where the instructions were very unclear, she did not give us any steps how to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is something very unfamiliar situation that happens in classroom that any teacher would give this to a 3rd grade students, an assignment without giving them the complete instructions. Therefore, I would rate this example, as five somewhat agree because it helps us see new things and unfamiliar situation from a different perspective. Another example of novelty can be from my past experience is when I took a tour to Agra where they have the prettiest places such as Taj Mahal, which was created for a queen, Mumtaz Mahal by her husband. This situation deals with novelty because this is something that many people will be unfamiliar with or will be a new information for them which they will view this at something else at first when they will hear at very first time. As most people will be shocked and surprised from hearing this story since it will be new and something that they never thought of before that somebody can do this for someone ... • 6. The War On The Front Lines The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The Great War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918. The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind the ongoing war changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers declined heavily, and this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured their accounts of these changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldier s diary that accurately depicts mutiny on the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in the amount of recruits and supplies available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the general feelings behind the war as time went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At the beginning of the war, the duties behind what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated and they were held above others as heroes. People of warring countries were rushing to battle and their loved ones were supporting them all of the way. Battalions were even formed from work groups, as they already withheld an established chain of command, the members had a close knit bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing the country they worked in. The glorified fighting and risking of one s life was soon changed. The way the war was fought also fiercely changed. The battle techniques early on in 1914 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The HC SR04 module is a distance sensor which utilises ultrasonic signal to conduct its readings. From the datasheet, it has range of 2cm to 400cm and it uses 40kHz sound waves2. The Trig pin (input) is used to trigger an ultrasonic pulse, while the Echo pin (output) produces a signal when the pulse is detected. The Vcc pin is connected to 5V and the GND is connected to the ground pin. The module was connected as shown in Figure 1b and ran the python program project D c.py to test the distance measurement. This program outputs the distance detected by the HC SRO4. The voltage signal from the Trig and Echo pins were connected to an oscilloscope through different channels and the amplitude and timing were compared. It could be seen that signal for the Trig has amplitude of 5V and occurs immediately before the Echo , which had an amplitude of ≈ 2V. The Echo pin normally produces a voltage of 5V, but with the addition of the 1k resistor, the output voltage is lowered to about 2V. The resistor is there to protect the GPIO pins ... • 19. Mechanisms of Axon Guidance Axons are sensitive and their respond depend on the local environment. When the tectum is removed, retinal axons grow toward the missing tissue, demonstrating that optic axons utilize these neighbourhood signals as opposed to a long run diffusible attractant from the tectum as they grow along the optic tract (Taylor, 1990). In the event of a small piece of the optic tract neuroepithelium is turned 90° preceding the axons enter it, then they become misoriented when they enter the pivoted transplant (Harris, 1989) and correct their course of growth once they exit. These results confirm that the neuroepithelium contains local information to which growing axons respond and that they are not simply following gradients of attractants released by their targets (Sanes et al., 2012). Growth cone filopodia are long, motile, and covered with receptors, also have a very high surface to volume ratio, which can help convert membrane signals into large changes in intracellular messengers such as calcium. Filopodia can show localized transient elevations of intracellular calcium and these transients reduce filopodial motility (Sanes et al., 2012). Calcium transients can be directly artificially activated in growth cone filopodia by loading neurons with a calcium caging agent that releases calcium upon stimulation with a pulse of light (Gomez et al., 2001). Experiments in which calcium is uncaged on one side of a growth cone generally cause the growth cone to turn toward the side that has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Education Is An Important Part Of Life Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can continually improve his or her education. In today s culture, an educated person should spend more time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking. Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader s mind because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times when the reader uses the word s definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions build a reader s vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Human Rights Act 1998 ( Hra ) Section C: 8 Before the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA) coming into force, the UK subscribed to a weak judicial review. However, the Act has brought a drastic change into the practice of judicial review in the UK. In this essay, I shall argue that with the new powers conferred to the courts under sections 3 and 4 (ss 3 and 4) of the HRA, they have developed a mechanism which allows the court to communicate with Parliament through their interpretations although the practice of judicial review remains relatively weak . I shall also argue that the courts should continue the adoption of the new approach to judicial review in the UK to counterbalance and limit the possibility of State violations of fundamental human rights of individuals whilst still keeping the principle of parliamentary sovereignty intact. A weak judicial review is a creation of statute (i.e. the HRA) that reviews the legitimacy of executive powers to ensure the Government acts within the scope of power Parliament has conferred to them. Compared to a strong judicial review, the UK courts have neither the power to strike down a primary legislation nor can they review legislation decisions. A weakness of strong judicial review is that it would undermine the principles of separation of powers and parliamentary sovereignty that underpin the UK Constitution as it would allow the courts to put legal constraints on Parliament. Therefore, the judiciary should respect the Parliament s decisions and remain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When we come out only once a month, most of the ideas that were relevant at the time of story ideas are stale and old news by the date of distribution. By coming out more often, we would be able to avoid this problem. For this idea to work, we would shorten the length of each individual Wolfpacket issue to 6 pages instead of 12 (i.e. A E being one page instead of two.) We then divide editors into teams and then alternate section responsibilities every issue, like a block schedule of sorts. To illustrate what I m saying, let s apply this bimonthly publication practice to the Opinions section. In this example, I would create the Opinions page for the first publication of the month, and Ohana would create it for the second. Editors and reporters would both have the same amount of work per month as we do with the current press schedule as there would be the same total pages made and articles written. By dividing up monthly 12 page issues into bimonthly 6 page ones, the Wolfpacket would be able to address more pressing and current issues within a reasonable time frame without demanding much extra work from the ... However, many politicians are fortunately against the ban, saying that gender identity should not be relevant in the military selection process, and to choose service members on other grounds than military qualifications is social policy and has no place in our military (Burns and Lucey, para. 31). Perhaps most controversial about the interdiction is Trump s use of the word burden when describing the financial impact of transition related healthcare, leading to discussion of the financial aspect of the ban. The costs of transition related healthcare and the effect on the military s readiness and lethality were the main concerns stated in Trump s announcement. Most of these chemicals are stored in small sacs called synaptic vesicles. Receptor sites are tuned to recognize and respond to some neurotransmitters but not to others. When a neurotransmitter and a receptor molecule combine, reactions in the cell membrane cause a postsynaptic potential, a voltage change at a receptor site on a postsynaptic cell membrane. Though on the surface it is filled with hatred and injustice, there are a lot more complex interactions once thoroughly examined. The U.S, once a colony of the Europeans, eventually grew into the strong standing nation that it is today. Meanwhile the original inhabitants, the Native Americans, often received the aggression and oppression of this growing nation, but they weren t the savages the U.S. claimed them to be. In fact, the Iroquois Confederacy was the main influence of the U.S Constitution. This paper will discuss the differences as well as the similarities, which are thought to be controversial, between these two historical documents.
