Sealed Air Corporation (HBS 9-582-103) case analysis
1. What are the problems?
Market leadership and technological innovation have marked Sealed Air s participation in the U.S.
protective packaging market. Several small regional producers have introduced products, which are
less effective than Sealed Air s but similar in appearance and cheaper. The company must determine
its response to this new competition. The company is faced with a difficult choice of choosing from
a range of feasible options ranging from doing nothing to introducing a new product. This has raised
product line management issues, particularly cannibalization, and affords the opportunity for the
development of a marketing plan for any new product introduction. The timing of launch and any
change in policies for Air Cap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It should launch uncoated products matching SO 22 (3/16in) and LO 22 (1/2in) offerings of

What I Learned From An Elk Essay
What I learnt from an elk If you told me that there would be a deer to attack me in the future, I
would laugh at you and consider that you are crazy; until there was actually a deer attacked my
fellow members and me when we were camping. Speaking of deer, what I thought about was they
were kind and docile and I believed that they would never initiate an attack. That s the reason why
we chose a deerfarm as our campsite. When I was in China, I was volunteering at one of the
organizations, which was pretty similar to the YoungLife in the US, that we gathered the university
students together and we did a variety of activities. Camping was actually one of the most popular
activities that we had, so that we went camping regularly at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We realized that things have gone wrong, retreating was the very next action we attempted to do,
however, it was too late to just walk away from him. He initiated the attack by running towards us
abruptly without any sign, which astonished all of us, we just began running away in different
directions, trying to detract his attentions. I was so shocked that I could not really concentrated on
what I should do next, what all of us should do next at this particular moment. The elk kept chasing
one of our group members, trying to knock him over with his horns, so that that group member
picked up a really thick tree branch from the ground, fighting against the elk. So we ran towards
our campsite, which turned into another mistake. He remained chasing us all the way to our
campsite, where there were still a lot of members pitching their tents or talking with friends
without any awareness, they were not aware of danger is coming up. As one of the volunteers, I
started yelling at them: run as fast as you can. My voice was like an alarm to all of them, they
started running away from the campsite. I never thought that this kind of emergency would ever
happen to me, but I realized that I needed to calm myself and deal with it composedly, I needed to
keep every single member from danger. At the same time, the elk was knocking down all of tents
that we pitched, the

The Fall Of Humanity By Mikael Horton
In the article, The Fall of Humanity by Mikael Horton we learn the following: Adam s
representative headship accounts for the grandeur and the tragedy of human existence; it sets in
motion the great trial that sets the stage for the fulfillment of all things in Jesus, the faithful last
Adam. The covenant of creation is implicitly and explicitly taught in Scripture, integrating both the
legal and the familial aspects of humanity s natural relationship to God and illuminating the
character of Christ s gracious work. No doctrine is more significant for a biblical anthropology than
original sin, although none has been subject to more criticism. Human image bearing was not lost in
the fall (we retain our human personhood and dignity), but the... Show more content on

The distinction between righteousness before God and before others While Scripture (and
experience) credits unbelievers with a certain goodness, justice, and wisdom in human affairs, it is
the righteousness of God s own character that is the standard by which all will be judged.
2.The distinction between natural and moral ability Humans possess a natural ability to obey God
s commands but lack the moral ability to love God and neighbor in accord with God s righteous
character; our human capacities and abilities were not lost in the fall but twisted and deformed in
unrighteousness.
Apart from redemption in Christ, humans are not truly persons who bear the image of God.
While Lutherans also traditionally teach that the image of God was lost in the fall, differences
with the Reformed are much more semantic than substantial. This delay opens up a space for
God s own saving action, worked out in promise and fulfillment through redemptive history. God
s call to Abraham in Genesis 12 initiates the history of Israel, which is primarily the story of a
people called and kept by the gracious promises of God to the patriarchs. The history of Israel s
judgment for covenant breaking, yet their gracious deliverance on the basis of God s promises to
Abraham, recapitulates the story of Adam s fall and God s promises of a Seed, all pointing to their
new covenant fulfillment in the person and work of

Relationships In King Lear
William Shakespeare s King Lear is massive in scope and deals with many themes. I d like to
focus on King Lear s relationship with his daughters as it evolves throughout the play as well as
the play King Lear s themes regarding politics and politicking. The passage I think best represents
the conclusion of these themes is King Lears conversation with Cordelia in Act 5, scene 3 where
they have been taken prisoner by the English. My conclusion from reading this passage closely
is that in Shakespeare s King Lear, King Lear s speech to Cordelia regarding their impending
imprisonment builds Shakespeare s idea of caged potential and judgement for those who politic.
The first lines of this speech, No, no, no, no! Come, let s away to prison: We two alone will sing
like birds i the cage: (5.3.8 9) in response to Cordelia s question of whether they should see
Goneril and Regan, give us an idea of King Lear s mental state at this time in the play. King Lear
appears to be lucid and to have largely regained his sanity from the earlier scenes of the play
once he has reunited with Cordelia. He insists strongly, with four noes, that they should go
immediately to prison. The metaphor of Lear and Cordelia as birds in a cage implies that he and
Cordelia will have lost their freedom, as a bird in a cage loses its ability to fly. Yet, by saying
that they shall sing in this cage, Lear says that they will be happy while they have lost flight and
freedom, they will have one another. King Lear

The World s Foremost Economic And Military Power
The USA is the world s foremost economic and military power, with global interests and an
unmatched global reach.
America s gross domestic product accounts for close to a quarter of the world total, and its

The country is also a major source of entertainment: American TV, Hollywood films, jazz, blues,
rock and rap music are primary ingredients in global popular culture.
The United States originated in a revolution which separated it from the British Crown. The
constitution, drafted in 1787, established a federal system with a division of powers which has
remained unchanged in form since its inception.

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Satire Analysis
In Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , Twain uses satire to criticize many
aspects of American society. His first use of satire may be overlooked by many. Twain s
decision to set the novel in a time where slavery was allowed, despite the book being published
in 1959, is one of his ways of making fun of American society. This detail mocks how little
progress the United States made with civil rights in the century. Twain continues to mock ideals
such as religion, family feuds, and greed, all of which were engrained in American society
during his life time. One of the first characters that are introduced in the novel are Miss. Watson
and Widow Douglas. Both women are portrayed and described as proper Christians, despite the
fact that they own slaves. According to the bible, anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to
death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper s possession (Exodus 21:16).
Disciples in the New Testament also spoke out against slaveryin their testaments. Despite this, the
women continue to own and sell slaves. By portraying Christians in this light, Twain mocks the
religion as hypocritical. The escaped slave, Jim, also serves as a mockery of religion. Jim is
known to believe in almost all superstations. In the beginning of the novel, Jim is able to tell Huck

Effects Of Social Networking For Our Society Essay
Are Social Networking Sites Good for Our Society? How does social networking sites affect our
society? We all know that social networking sites changed the way we communicate, and many
people are using these sites. As a teenager and a college student, social networking sites has
given me a lot of information and opportunity to socialize and help for my college tests,
communicating with my friends, and many more. Another positive effect of social networking
sites is it providing real time news. According to a website called Pew Research Center who has
experts in statistics, it stated About a quarter of all U.S. adults (26%) get news from two or
more social media sites, up from 15% in 2013 and 18% in 2016. But what are the positive effects
of social networking in our society? The three positive effects of social networking sites are it
provides easy and instant communication, it helps college students, and it help us to find a job
easily. The first positive effect of social networking site is it provides easy and instant
communication. When I was in the Philippines, I was far away with my parents. The only
communication that we had is through social networking sites (ex: Facebook). Social networking
site has given me the opportunity to talked to my loved ones. Another example is when my friends
want to reach me out. Instead of texts and calls they usually message me directly in my social
accounts. So, it means social networking sites really provide an easy and instant

The Nitya Ras
The religious performance of Ras Lila is based around the deities Krishna and Radha, two
prominent gods within Hindu culture and religious practice. Beginning with the Nitya Ras, a
representation of Radha and Krishna making love to each other through sacred song and dance, and
eventually progresses to the Lila at the end, which includes text, song, and dance of events from
when Krishnavisited earth. (177 178) Halfway through is an intermission during which the
Maharaj ji appears onstage by stepping through a curtain upstage and walks toward one of the
corners. The music becomes quiet and then he pauses before lowering himself to the floor and
bowing so that his forehead touches it. The goal and symbolism of this action is that he doesn t
see the performers as actors but rather 5,000 year old people. (Mason). The Nitya Ras begins with
the actors playing Krishna, Radha, and their servants along with the musicians taking their places
on the stage, after which the curtain raises revealing the performers. Song and dance establishes a
joyous mood, and Krishna preaches about either the Braj, love,... Show more content on

Afterwards the gopis, or lovers of Krishna, come forward and touch the feet of Krishna and Radha

depending on the troupe that is performing and where the performance is held. In addition to dance,
there are twenty minute intervals that include dialogue between Krishna and Radha called jhankis.
Jhankis are tableaus during which the actors playing the deities hold in place and pose. (Mason).
These twenty minute intervals allow members of the audience to approach Krishna and Radha in
prayer. This allows the performance to be spiritual and deepens the connection between audience

The Pros And Cons Of The Alberta Oil Sands
Have you ever thought about if the Alberta Oil Sands are an economic and environmentally
sufficient enough that we should still utilize the resource of oil? The Alberta Oil Sands also
known as the tar sands were first mined in 1967 and ever since they have done a great deal to
Alberta s economic stability. The issue is that all good things have a bad side as well. Some main
disadvantages to the oil sands is that natural habitats get destroyed, creates greenhouse gas
emissions which are harmful to humans and the environment and the issue of is it more
environmentally friendly to use another source for energy such as methane?
The Oil Sands of Alberta is an enriched area of oil that Canada utilizes for economic stability. One
main aspect of being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some pros of the oils sands are they made Canada the biggest supplier of oil to the US which
allowed for the beginning of a fruitful economic partnership. The oil sands are also a stable
source of energy due to the oil sands being the second largest site in the world. Alberta has
flourished due to the oils sands which creates thousands of jobs for locals. On the downside
there are also cons to every project. Some disadvantages to the oils sands are since the oil is so
deep underground; the process of extraction is very carbon intense which creates more
greenhouse gas. Thousands of bird species have a loss of their breeding grounds due to the fact
that the mining operation is located where the breeding ground used to be. As of right now and
our rate of consumption of oil we have approximately only 40 years worth of oil left. Some
people say that we rely on the oils sands too much and eventually we will have to find a new
source of energy. I say, for now it s fair to say that we will have an issue in the future about
energy but for as of now it is not a huge problem. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons on
the sole fact that we have this resource at our disposal and we might as well take advantage of
what God has given us. From what I understand is that we are also reconstructing the landscape
once we are finished with the sites so the native species will be able to inhabit the area once

This causes the pack to start a reverse spread (Photo ?). Use your left thumb to help pull over the
cards from the top as you guide each one in a straight line, collecting the cards in the fork

reaches back to the right of the spread and pushes more cards toward the left (Photo ?). As the
hands come together, the right thumb controls both how fast and how many cards slide over to
the left in a pile under the left thumb (Photo ?). Continue spreading until all the cards have

A History of the Indian River Citrus Company
Indian River Citrus Company (A) Indian River Citrus Company is a leading producer of fresh,
frozen, and made from concentrate citrus drinks. The firm was founded in 1929 by Matthew
Stewart, a navy veteran who settled in Miami after World War I and began selling real estate.
Since real estate sales were booming, Stewart s fortunes soared. His investment philosophy, which
he proudly displayed behind his desk, was Buy land. They aren t making any more of it. He
practiced what he preached, but instead of investing in residential property, which he knew was
grossly overvalued, he invested most of his sales commissions in citrus land located in Florida s

3. Suppose another citrus producer had expressed an interest in leasing the lite orange juice
production site for $25,000 a year. If this were true (in fact, it was not), how would that
information be incorporated into the analysis? The $25,000 is an opportunity cost, so it s

Chickfil-A Business Proposal
For my project, I will be creating the accounting portions of a business plan for a Chickfil
A restaurant.
I have selected this business for several reasons. Firstly, Chick fil A is the busiest restaurant I have
ever seen. It is the only vendor in the mall food court that requires waiting line dividers. The double
drive thru line wraps around the building most of the time. During peak hours, the parking lot is so
busy that it cannot hold any more cars. Although there are plenty of competing fast food options in
my town, including McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, KFC,
Popeye s and Wendy s all within half a mile of the Chick fil A restaurant, people will park in the
adjacent lot and walk across a busy road rather than go elsewhere for lunch.
Chick fil A s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to their website, they receive approximately
20,000 franchise inquiries every year and select 75 to 80, on average, to become new franchise
operators. Last year, when a friend of a friend opened a Chick fil A franchise, I joked that they
would be serving chicken and taking home the bacon . While I did not know for sure how much
profit could be made from a franchise, I could only assume, based on its popularity, that it was a
very lucrative business.
The story of Chick fil A began in 1946 when Truett Cathy, along with his brother Ben, opened the
Dwarf Grill (now the Dwarf House) near the Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly
Plant. In 1960, when his second Dwarf Grill location was accidentally burned down, Truett
Cathy was forced to rethink his business. His fried chicken sandwich had always sold well, but
they took a long time to prepare and were more expensive compared to hamburgers and fries. In
1961, he found a pressure cooker that could cook a chicken breast in the same amount of time it
took for him to grill a burger. He then sought to reduce the cost of raw chicken by purchasing
boneless, skinless chicken breasts from Goode Brothers Poultry Company. Although

Marketing Plan For A New Product
Whenever introducing a new product to a current market, an organization will need to prepare for
challenges they may face. For this reason, Kohler will need to be smart with our promotional and
advertising objectives when introducing Hygieia to the commercial and residential markets. Our
objectives will focus on building awareness, creating interest, providing information, stimulating
demand, and reinforcing the brand. Working with our big box retailers, we will need to work
closely with channel members and our salesforce to help with the execution of our promotional
objectives to be effective (CITE1).
Kohler being a well known faucet manufacture and distributor helps us to connect with current and
new customers. Our first objective building awareness, is a vital part to determine if the product
will be expanded to more stores outside of our test market. The first two months will be crucial,
especially when we need to present to The Home Depot and Lowes during our product line review,
to show the current sales performance. In this objective we will need to effectively reach out to our
customers though push promotional strategies to explain to our target customers the Hygieia value.
Our second objective will need to focus on providing information that can assist with customers in
the search stage when deciding to purchase a faucet for their home or business. With the Hygieia
being such a unique product to the market place it will have no competitors with the same dual soap

The Jewel Birds
Once there was a princess named Princess Ella. As she was walking in her palace gardens, she saw
a sign made out of gold and silver. It read, This way to Gold and Silver Orchard. Princess Ella
followed the arrow on the sign.
A little ways along the path, she came to another sign. It read, Keep following this path to get to

The princess wondered which path to take. What should I do? Princess Ella muttered to herself.
She decided to stay in the smaller Gold and Silver Orchard, and explore and enjoy herself while she
was there. Suddenly Princess Ella found that she was very tired, and she lay down to take a nap
under a shady tree. She slept for days!
When she finally woke up, she saw a big bird flying above her. She said to the bird, What a

The bird replied to her, Oh, my name is SilverBird. My name comes from what I am made of. I am

things that happen but these are the main ones in this case. We can do many things to stop all of the
problems with the American Criminal Justice System, we can crack down on who visits the crime
scene, use more evidence when convicting somebody, And using the justice system and have
hard evidence to sentence someone for a crime. Brendan Dassey was Steven Avery s nephew and
he was 16 when he got convicted of the crime so he was a miner at the time but they didn t have
any permission to question him so he shouldn t get in trouble even though they made a mistake.
Yes he admitted to stabbing and raping her but we still have to remember had a very bad learning

Steven Avery assumed that evidence has been tampered with and he directly said it in court but
the judge of this case dismissed his statement and went on. This raised many questions because no

tampered with the evidence in order to make Steven Avery guilty in her murder. This is not the
only case where tampering with evidence has happened so it is possible for the Criminal Justice

Early American Transportation
Transportation, a system for moving people or goods from one place to another. Throughout the
history there are many ways of transportation, such as road, boat, airplane that only appeared around
last century, etc. People use these tools to transport goods or themselves from one destination to
another. Even though different vehicles provide different speed and volume for transportation, the
most common and beneficial route is the land route. The dominant way of transportation on land is
always the train. The train not only can travel at a high speed it can also carry many things. The
railroad played a huge role in the human history making it one of human s best invention.

Under the influences from the Europeans, American began developing its own railroad system.
With the vast amount of land available, the Americans were able to build railroads with far
larger scale than those built in Europe. The earliest railways in the United States were just like
those earlier railroads in Europe. They were short, wooden railways built by quarries and mines
along which horses pulled loads to nearby water ways. In the 1827, the mine and quarry
operators built the first full size railways. In 18329, the first locomotive for the railroads was
imported from Europe. Although some Americans such as Horatio Allen had been experiencing
with locomotives, their locomotives were proved to be too heavy for the tracks that had been
constructed and was subsequently abolished. ( Railroads. Dictionary of American History) The
railroad era in America truly began in the 1830s when Peter Cooper s locomotive, Tom Thumb,
first steamed along 13 miles (21 km) of Baltimore and Ohio railroad track. (Rail transport, Early
railroads in the US, Wikipedia) Tom Thumb traveled at speeds approaching fifteen miles per
hour while pulling a car filled with thirty people. This led the beginning of train transportation of
human not minerals or ore. However, not until the 1850s, though, did railroads offer long
distance service at reasonable rates. Not only the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was the first carry
passengers but also the first to evolve from a single line to a network in the United States.
Railroads were connected to each other between some cities. However, in order to get from one city
to another, the passengers had to transfer train multiple times. In addition, only at places like
Bowling Green, Kentucky, were the railroads connected to one another. Soon following the

The superior capabilities of knowledge management systems provide an opportunity for the
business to engage the most effective components and recognize the importance of communication
to make informed, accurate decisions (McGrath, 2001). This system can organize the company s
knowledge resources, knowledge obtaining, organizing, and applying to make a sound routine the
will enforce effectiveness (Niu, 2008). The dynamic function of knowledge management to create,
capture, and apply knowledge to achieve an organization s objective will allow them to be more
profitable and successful (Zucker, 1986). In addition to increasing profits, the system can be also
used to reduce costs and enhance research and development (DeTienne Jackson, 2001). With all of
these advantages, it would be wasteful for a company to not employ knowledge management. As
seen in the Discovery Communications, Inc. example, the company can attribute their new
productivity levels and increase in ease of securing documents to the knowledge management
system that put into place by Carefree Technology. Like Discovery Communications, Inc.,
knowledge management is so popular today because companies can collect, process and share
knowledge to ignite employees creativity which in turn will make the business grow. Wenhong and
Jianhua (2009) explained the core of knowledge management is to convert company s knowledge

properly before being issued. A prime example of this is the case of Mrs X who was served an
ASBO purely on false allegations. She wasn t made aware of the ASBO allegations until the
papers were served to her for a hearing in December 2004. Thankfully, the ASBO was overturned
by the court and Mrs X was compensated but the council was criticised by the Local Government
Ombudsman for abuse of power of nightmarish proportions (BBC News 05/07/2007). This report

The Y2k Hysteria By Richard Landes
This phrase and the belief that the world was formed in 6 days with a 7th for rest, gave the early
Christians a view that the world would last for 6000 years. According to scriptures the world had
a beginning, it had a now in which they were living and a promised end. This end was proclaimed
in the Olivet discourse (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13), but with warnings that none on Earth
would know when. The Y2K hysteria caused many scholar to wonder how the millennial dates past
where thought of by those that lived in that time.
This essay is a discussion on whether merging of dates with the idea of six millennia (1000 year)
periods was just an intellectual exercise or directly gave rise to apocalyptic thought. Richard

This was part of the problem chronologists had in merging dates systems.
Landes diagram showing the various chronological systems, that highlights when they hit the 6th
Millennium. Note: the vertical dotted lines, of the changing a date system to avert the dangerous
millennium. From this it seems obvious that the church fathers of Augustine and later Boniface
must have made the decision to change dating to avoid the Millennium fever. But that is not quite
the full picture. It does not consider the intervening centuries of learning, translation and
scholarship creating better methods of calculations. Figure 1 chronographical shifts and apocalyptic

The study of chronology has been a pursuit of many a scholar over the ages. We should note that it
was not just early Christians who were interested in this. Rabbi Yossi ben Halafta, a 2nd century
scholar, calculated the beginning date of the Hebrew calendar from when Adam Eve were
created (Year 1 of Jewish calendar) which (adjusted for modern calendar) was October 7,
3761BC. . The old Testament part of the Bible was a collection of the religious writings from
Jewish Torah, giving a chronology from Genesis to well before the Coming of Jesus. Various

Analysis Of The Wrongs Of Maria By Mary Wollstonecraft
Michaela Heilesen
ENGL: 2348:0001
Fighting the Patriarchy with Novels Mary Wollstonecraft was a passionate woman who advocated
for women s rights in the 1700s. She quickly noticed how popular genres supported the campaign
for abolition in the 1790s. As a result, she decided to write a novel in hopes that it would accurately
convey the arguments of Rights of Womanwhile simultaneously being well received by the
general public and appeal to a broader audience in this form. Wollstonecraft had very radical ideas
for her time that eventually lead to the creation of one of the first feminist novels in English
literature. Wollstonecraft wrote The Wrongs of Woman; or Maria with one main point in mind, a
very radical and feminist point, nonetheless. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maria is a heroine who has been imprisoned in multiple ways by her husband. Maria s husband
also claimed her property and her daughter. Jemima is Maria s warder in the madhouse who ends
up telling her life story to Maria. While those two women are the focus of her novel,
Wollstonecraft presents the reader with a string of devastating marriages that all result with a
woman being abandoned, robbed, or abused. This was a strategic way for Wollstonecraft to get
the general public to be more aware of these issues by sliding them into a fictional story. It was
less of the blame game this way, by allowing the readers to disapprove and dislike the fictional
husbands and men in The Wrongs of Woman; or Maria rather than their own husbands or men in
real life. Those feelings could then simmer until one was ready to make a public statement or try
to speak out against patriarchy. Wollstonecraft made a powerful statement by having the two
women bond over their experiences with men. By doing this, Wollstonecraft is encouraging
women to band together and support each other. There is a particular passage in The Wrongs of
Woman; or Maria that really highlights Wollstonecraft s end goal. Thinking of Jemima s peculiar
fate and her own, she was led to consider the oppressed state of women, and to lament that she had

Listening to others opinions is important, but one should never make the mistake of altering one

upon the reader that one should not follow in the footsteps of the speakers, for living an

with no accomplishments and experiences of any worth. This poem also implies that one should

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Nissan
Nissan has a new flagship Maxima sedan, a 2016 edition that is stylish, sporty and competitively
priced. Most people consider the Maxima Nissan s largest model, but they would be wrong in
that assessment, at least in one important area: total interior volume (cabin + trunk = total
volume). Indeed, it is the Nissan Altima that offers the most room, even though the Maxima is
recognized as the brand s flagship sedan. I recently had the Nissan Maxima in my press fleet
rotation (that review will be published here later in the week), and immediately recognized that the
cars are similar in size. Nissan markets the Altima in the midsize segment, a model that is only

Those numbers are based on SAE measurements, a voluntary way of determining trunk (storage)
space as well as interior (cabin) space. It is such a convoluted process that few people will pay
attention to it. Kudos to Cars.com for attempting to explain it in short, the standards are based
on SAE J1100 methodology and that archetype was developed more than five decades ago. As
the chart indicates, the Nissan Maxima is dead last in proportions among the flagship models.
To my knowledge, Nissan isn t marketing the Maxima as its large car nor as its flagship sedan.
Instead, they re emphasizing this model s sporting characteristics. Indeed, when you see the
hashtag 4DSC, you re supposed to think of the Nissan Maxima and the embellishments on the
transmission stick and lights. That hashtag stands for four door sports car, a marketing initiative
that Nissan has used with the Maxima previously. I could have stirred the pot further by adding
the midsize Hyundai Sonata to the list just above the Nissan Altima. Had I done so, you would

volume or nearly 10 cubic feet more than the flagship

The Mass Extermination Of European Jews
Alexander Burgazzoli History 233 Exam 3 December 6, 2013 The mass extermination of European
Jews was, without a doubt due to the actions of the Third Reich. The question up for debate was
whether this extermination was a product of Adolf Hitler s methodical planning and execution
under his direct order, or the accumulation of unplanned events driven by the Germans anti Semitic
views? These two polar opposite views of intentionalism and structuralism both have convincing
evidence that support each of their own theories. The intentionalism theory views Hitler as the
mastermind behind the Final Solution, and all the events that led up to the death of nearly six
million Jews. It is their idea that Hitler had been planning the annihilation of the Jewish
community even years prior to him taking complete control over Germany. The anti Semitic view,
the greater part of the German population shared could have been the driving force that leads
structuralism ideas to form. This long lasting hatred for Jews, especially after enduring such a
humiliating defeat in World War I only gave the rest of Germany more reason to turn on the Jews.
They view these mass murders as simply an unplanned set of circumstances that lead to the Final
Solution. If one is looking at the Nazi party from an intentionalist view point you could argue of a
systematic chain of command that flowed from Hitler through all the ranks bellow him. This
ideology had the perception that what could

Analysis of Atmospheric Effects on Free Space Optical Communication
The Free space optical Communication (FSO) technology enables high interconnection speed in
next generation services. FSO uses laser links between the transmitter and receiver and provides a
lesser propagation delay due to the line of sight (LOS) path and lower air refractive index. The
performance of the links highly dependent on different weather conditions such as Fog, Turbulence

work, 9am 5pm I was at the Vision Care Center, 6pm 11pm I was at the Express at Town East
mall and by the time I got home, I was already fed up with life but had three courses to finish by
the end of the month. Obstacles were everywhere and my mind was the worst one. I will try
making an effort to view and think more positively. I hope to have a better perspective about
everything around me. I will squeeze in dinner with the family and find a day off to feel a bit of
freedom. The resources I could start to use more is the library, instead of getting home from work
and feeling tired, maybe the library would motivate me to stay awake and finish more exams
/assignments. Overall, I m really glad that I had the chance to experience this particular
assignment because it triggered me to see that the world doesn t have to feel like such a busy
place. Having this time to type out my thoughts is the freest I ve felt in a while.

Examples Of Evil In Othello
Pure evil is like a cancerous plague that harms all those who come upon it. In the tragic play
Othello by William Shakespeare, Iago is a character that represents pure evil a malignant cancer to
all those around him. His evil is exposed through his choice of words, his ability to manipulate
people, and his opportunistic ways.
First, Iago s evil is shown through his choice of words that demonstrate his vulgarity and his
sinister intentions. Iago s language is extremely base and forward; he does show any remorse or
sympathy in any situation. For example, Desdemona has recently married Othello; when Desdemona
s father, Brabantio, hears the news he becomes enraged. To make the situation much worse, Iago
says to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of his evil imagery is when he says, It is engendered. Hell and night/Must bring this
monstrous birth to the worlds light. (Act 1, sc.iii, lines 396 397). His voracity is seen in this
quote; he calls upon hell and night to give birth to his evil plan. The way he uses the word, hell
and night, associate him with evil which derives from the word devil. Another example that
proves Iago s evil imagery is when he says, Divinity of hell!/When devils will the blackest sins
put on. (Act 2,sc.iii, lines 340 341). In this quote, Iago, once again calls upon hell but this time
describes it as divine. Iago s sinister thoughts are of evil essence because he calls upon the
blackest of sins to aid him in his evil quest. Thus, Iago s choice of words prove his sinister
intentions; which also
include his ability to manipulate people.
Iago s evil is also demonstrated by his ability to manipulate people and situations through his
words and through his actions. The first victim to fall under Iago s manipulative spell is the half
witted Roderigo. Iago recognizes that Roderigo is consumed by lust for Desdemona and would
go to the extremes to make her his own. Iago convinces Roderigo that the only way to win
Desdemona s heart is to give her money; ...Put money in thy purse... (Act 1, sc. iii, line 339).
However, Iago is able to manipulate Roderigo s infatuation and make himself a profit by taking the
money intended for Desdemona and

Effects of Social Networking on Undergraduate Student s...
Introduction Social networking has made its way into American culture quickly and is more
prevalent now than ever before. Many people have different views on the relevance and benefits
of social networking, whether they are positive or negative standpoints. Nevertheless, social media
and networking is a part of our American lifestyles as a whole. As a Computer Information
Systems major and studying the foundations and composition of computer applications, I would
like to research the effects that social networks have on underclassmen undergraduate students
attending an Historically Black College or University. In order to conduct this research, a study
and survey must be held to determine whether social networking positively or negatively affects
grade point averages by recording the number of social networks students are actively using and
the number of hours spent on these applications in comparison to grade point averages. This
research is important because there are many individuals who do not know the effects of their
social networking, or lack thereof, has on their grades, sleeping patterns, health, and lifestyles in
general. Although this research will focus on grade point averages of students, it will also
determine if social networking has effects on other aspects of the college life such as sleeping
patterns, health, and awareness. Purpose of Study Individuals should understand that the use or
nonuse of social media has negative and positive effects on their

Unknown Blood Cells Lab Report
Introduction When foreign antigens enter the body, chemical signals are dispatched to different
parts of the immune system and send it into action. B lymphocytes produce the antigen specific
antibodies. The antibodies will then attach to the antigen/virus and T lymphocytes will attack the
antigen that the antibodyhas bound itself to. Once the antigen has been eliminated phagocytes,
which are cells that absorb bacteria and other small particles/substances, will come through and
absorb the remains of the antigen/infection. In a forensic setting antibodies can also be used to
identify an unknown blood/protein. The purpose of this experiment is to use the process of
immunoprecipitation to identify an unknown host protein.

yellow burnished surface, which is characteristic of Final Periphrastic pottery. Also, it has an
imported scarab from the Egyptian Pharaoh Ahmose from around 1550 1525 BC, which falls
within the Final Periphrastic period. Stratum 18, also dating to the Early Pleonastic period, has
several yellow burnished pottery shards. Stratum 19 date directly to the Final Periphrastic period,
as it only has shards of yellow burnished shards. This site was also inhabited during the

What Is The Theme Of Romanticism In Giselle Ou Les Willise
The ballet Giselle ou Les Willis was premiered at the Paris Opera on the 28th of June, 1841. The
ballet follows the protagonist Giselle an innocent peasant who falls in love with Albrecht the Duke
of Silesia, passing as a villager. When Giselle uncovers the truth behind Albrecht deceits she dies of
a broken heart and is transformed into a Willi, a supernaturalbeing that has been left at the alter.
Gisellewas created in the period known as the Romantic Era, which was named due to the influence
of romanticismthroughout Europe in the 1800s. The development of modern Europe begun
between the 1780s and 1849 which was an economic transformation that set the first stages of the
great Industrial Revolution. This period created changes that can be seen throughout the ballet
Giselle with alterations to costuming and theatrical innovations, which changed how the public
perceived dance. Themes symbolic of the time were generated and brought depth and emotion to
previous one dimensional storylines, as well as the development of how the roles of men and
women in dance went against the way of society.
Throughout the Romantic period the ideas of Romanticism in art and literature influenced the
creation of ballets. During this period ballets explored similar key themes of betrayal, love and a
spiritual connection between the living and dead, in which these themes reflected society at the
time. Throughout the romantic period society were facing hardship in which they looked to the

Case Exemplar
Everyone will have to deal with the death of a family member or friend, as well as his or her own
mortality. The certainty of the end of life can be very stressful and overwhelming. Many aspects of
caregiving, treatment, and pain management are all part of the journey towards the end of one s life.
Many people are unclear about pain and symptom management during the end of life. Some
believe that if you choose to medicate for pain then they are hastening or responsible for the
death of their loved one. Others believe that all measures should be taken to help prolong their
loved one s life. No all deaths are the same. Some people pass away peacefully, while others will

In order for Mrs. S to obtain optimum pain management, she required multiple medications. As
she became progressively worse, the hospice nurse monitored her pain, pain relief, and adverse
effects. Mrs. S often resisted taking medications that might sedate her, because she was the
primary caregiver for her 90 year old mother who had late stage dementia. Mrs. S s own primary
caregiver was her husband of 45 years. He was very distressed about her illness and did not know
what to do as his wife had always taken care of everything.
Pain is understood to be a whole person experience that has not only a physical source but also
psychosocial and spiritual dimensions. Therefore, comprehensive pain relief must include
interventions that target psychological, spiritual, and social distress. There are many
complementary therapies for pain. Heat, cold, and massage are helpful in treating physical pain.
Psychological approaches such as relaxation, distraction, meditation, and attention to spiritual
distress are methods for addressing psychological pain. Complementary therapies offer family
members opportunities to comfort the patient at the end of life. In the case of Mrs. S, involving
her husband in positioning her, use of massage, playing calming music, and reading from her Bible
provided an opportunity for him to replace his sense of helplessness with a sense of helpfulness.

Pros And Cons Of Privatizing The United States
Privatizing the United States air traffic control operations may move closer to becoming a reality
in 2017 something most airline companies and other industry leaders have been pushing for a
long time. Proponents of shifting away from government control introduced a bill last year that
the incoming president has expressed a willingness to carefully consider. Rep. Bill Shuster (R),
who helped draft the legislation, sees the long overdue shift to satellite based air traffic
management as the solution to lower costs for operators, while making air traffic safer and more
efficient for all stakeholders. Whether global air travel is privately run or government controlled,
call center voice recording activities will still be necessary to ensure control tower staff are fully

Supporters for privatizing air traffic control claim that it is time to address long delays and
inefficiencies in an aging airspace network that doesn t fully utilize modern aviation technology.
UK based NATS projects delays will exponentially increase from the current 90,000 minutes a year
to approximately 4 million in the next 15 years unless the United Kingdom government invests in
modernization by replacing outdated airspace technology by switching to satellite based control. In
the United States the federal government has a history of moving at a snail s pace when it comes
to updating national infrastructure. For example, New York City just completed a subway upgrade
that was originally approved in 1929. A revamping of the system similar to the innovative changes
that transformed call center voice recording equipment from simple recording devices to systems
that capture conversations and enable digital archiving and instant sharing via cloud based
technology, will help modernize our airspace management strategies. The time to act is now if we
want to avoid problems in the

The Goals Of The American Abolitionist Movement
The American Abolitionist Movement
The instant emancipation of slaves and the end of racial discrimination, segregation, and abuse
were the goals of the American abolitionist movement. Unlike moderate anti slavery advocates who
pushed or gradual emancipation as well as other activists who argued to restrict slavery to certain
areas in hopes to avoid slavery being spread west, the call for immediate emancipation is was set
abolitionist apart. This movement was mainly fueled by the religious excitement of the Second
Great Awakening. This awakening motivated many people to support the emancipation of slavery.
These ideas increasingly became popular in northern churches and even in politics in the 1830s.
This also contributed to animosity between the north and the south, leading to the Civil War.
The Second Great Awakening was a period of religious revival in the United States between 1790
and the 1840s. This movement brought widespread conversions, social activism, and the emergence
of new Christian denominations. This wave of religious revival stimulated the establishment of
many reform movements which were designed to remove the evils of society before the extremely
anticipated second coming of Jesus Christ. Being that slavery was seen as one of these evils, this
revival encouraged many slaves to demand their freedom.
Before the 1830s, slavery was discovered calmly. Since slavery was banned in the North, most of
the early abolitionists were southerners. The first abolitionists were Quakers and free blacks.
Quakers believed that all people have the same spark of divinity, making slavery immoral. They
were also among the first to free their slaves. Some Quakers even traveled the countryside urging
slave owners to free theirs.
In the 1820s, a large anti slavery movement emerged, supported by southerners and represented by
organizations such as the American Colonization Society. Benjamin Lundy urged southerners to
free their slaves, and for the nation to help free blacks move back to Haiti, Canada, or Texas,
which during this time was still apart of Mexico. Lundy tired to use persuasion rather than attack
and condmen slave owners. However, because of the increasing profitability of cotton production,
they were

Nazi Art
Art is a subjective medium of expression. Based on each person s experiences, beliefs, and
feelings they will create and also interpret art in different ways. Usually this will lead to a healthy
discussion on the differences of the interpretation of each individual. This was not the case when
the Nazi s had power in Germanyand they used their power to shape art in their country to what
they deemed to be acceptable and exiled art they deemed unacceptable or not fitting their belief
system. This would change the art direction of Germany from a more expressive style to a more
conservative style that fit the Nazi partys beliefs and how they wish to run the country.

the great personalities of moden art, Vasily Kandinsky. (p.l.) Vasily Kandinsky was another
artist eventually got seized by the Nazi s in the seizing party of 16,000 pieces of art. Arnason

did was explore a revolutionary idea about non objective or abstract painting. That means
painting without literal subject matter. A painting that does not take its form from the observed
world. In 1914 World War I forced Kandinsky to return to Russia, and shortly afterwards a new
phase of his career began. This was not unusual for art in the time period of World War I. Looking
at the art style of Der Blaue Reiter up to the year 1914, We can see that the individuals involved
were not held together by common stylistic principles but rather constituted a loose association of
young artist who were enthusiastic about new experiments an united in their oppositions. Besides
the personal friendships, Kandinsky was the one who gave the group cohesion and

increases, so does the amount of mentally ill Americans. Pathologizing the normal and increased
pharmaceutical use has led to widespread increase of incorrect mental illness diagnosis. The

To this day no scientific tests have been done to support the existence of ADHD. As it stands the
diagnostic criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder are essentially reflective of normal
childhood behavior. The behaviors that someone needs to elicit in order to be categorized with
attention deficit hyperactive disorder, include behaviors such as: often has difficulties organizing
tasks and activities ; often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained
mental effort ; often loses things necessary for tasks or activities ; is often on the go ; often talks
excessively ; and often interrupts or intrudes on others (American Psychiatric Association, 2014).
These criteria for ADHD are found in most children but not all children have Attention Deficit
Hyperactive Disorder. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders has taken
normal behaviors of a child and reclassified them to be characterized into a disorder. If psychiatry
was against pathologizing normal behavior then disorders like ADHD which are essentially just
descriptions of normal childhood behavior would be eliminated. Children would therefore be put
on medication less often and therefore would lead to less serious disorders based off of the
findings of Whitaker. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is

r centuries farming had been down with manual labor and animals. Beginning in the early 1800 s
steam powered engines and other mechanical devices began to be used in agriculture and farming.
John Froehlich helped make permanent changes to farming with his invention of the traction
engine .
John Froelich was born in 1849 in Iowa and attended school in Galena, Illinois, and in Iowa. While
in college he became interested in engineering, and farming and agriculture. After he graduated from
college, he built the first petrol powered traction engine that would move both forward and

Unlike animals and people, tractors did not get tired, although they did breakdown frequently and
their moving parts were dangerous. Because tractors were much stronger than horses, machines
which had been powered by horses could now be more easily powered with tractors.
Many improvements have been made on the tractor since the model John Froelich invented in
1892. The first tractor had three wheels and was clumsy to move. Eventually tractors would be
made with four wheels which made them easier to drive and more stable when moving. The
invention of the tractor would also lead to the invention of the Caterpillar or crawler which
worked much like the tractor except it used tracks instead of wheels. These machines proved
especially useful in places like the California which had heavier soil. The invention of the tractor
also lead to the invention of powered hydraulics to lift heavy machinery and the power take off
allowing the tractor to be used more efficiently as a power source to other machines while the
tractor was stationary or moving. These improvements and inventions have led to many types of
machines which have made farming more efficient and

  • 2. Sealed Air Corporation (HBS 9-582-103) case analysis 1. What are the problems? Market leadership and technological innovation have marked Sealed Air s participation in the U.S. protective packaging market. Several small regional producers have introduced products, which are less effective than Sealed Air s but similar in appearance and cheaper. The company must determine its response to this new competition. The company is faced with a difficult choice of choosing from a range of feasible options ranging from doing nothing to introducing a new product. This has raised product line management issues, particularly cannibalization, and affords the opportunity for the development of a marketing plan for any new product introduction. The timing of launch and any change in policies for Air Cap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here market share of Sealed Air was 22% and declining. The learning from this endeavor can be used in the European markets. GAFCEL not only competed on price basis but also on quality (quote ....made a decent product in Hauser s estimation ). SA could leverage its high quality production facilities. Another relevant parallel would be In Germany and France uncoated manufacturers with better production facilities were eating into SA s market share. The other option of reducing price or distributor s margin (to match GAFCEL s offering) may have a detrimental impact on the bottom line. SA could also consider entering the food packaging industry. 4. If so, what marketing program would you propose for uncoated? Product/price specification It should launch uncoated products matching SO 22 (3/16in) and LO 22 (1/2in) offerings of GAFCEL. It should further launch a product in the 5/16in category so that it attacks its competitors from all fronts and may also help in capturing any untapped market potential. 3/16 in ($) 5/16 in ($) 1/2 in ($)

  • 4. What I Learned From An Elk Essay What I learnt from an elk If you told me that there would be a deer to attack me in the future, I would laugh at you and consider that you are crazy; until there was actually a deer attacked my fellow members and me when we were camping. Speaking of deer, what I thought about was they were kind and docile and I believed that they would never initiate an attack. That s the reason why we chose a deerfarm as our campsite. When I was in China, I was volunteering at one of the organizations, which was pretty similar to the YoungLife in the US, that we gathered the university students together and we did a variety of activities. Camping was actually one of the most popular activities that we had, so that we went camping regularly at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We realized that things have gone wrong, retreating was the very next action we attempted to do, however, it was too late to just walk away from him. He initiated the attack by running towards us abruptly without any sign, which astonished all of us, we just began running away in different directions, trying to detract his attentions. I was so shocked that I could not really concentrated on what I should do next, what all of us should do next at this particular moment. The elk kept chasing one of our group members, trying to knock him over with his horns, so that that group member picked up a really thick tree branch from the ground, fighting against the elk. So we ran towards our campsite, which turned into another mistake. He remained chasing us all the way to our campsite, where there were still a lot of members pitching their tents or talking with friends without any awareness, they were not aware of danger is coming up. As one of the volunteers, I started yelling at them: run as fast as you can. My voice was like an alarm to all of them, they started running away from the campsite. I never thought that this kind of emergency would ever happen to me, but I realized that I needed to calm myself and deal with it composedly, I needed to keep every single member from danger. At the same time, the elk was knocking down all of tents that we pitched, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Fall Of Humanity By Mikael Horton In the article, The Fall of Humanity by Mikael Horton we learn the following: Adam s representative headship accounts for the grandeur and the tragedy of human existence; it sets in motion the great trial that sets the stage for the fulfillment of all things in Jesus, the faithful last Adam. The covenant of creation is implicitly and explicitly taught in Scripture, integrating both the legal and the familial aspects of humanity s natural relationship to God and illuminating the character of Christ s gracious work. No doctrine is more significant for a biblical anthropology than original sin, although none has been subject to more criticism. Human image bearing was not lost in the fall (we retain our human personhood and dignity), but the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The distinction between righteousness before God and before others While Scripture (and experience) credits unbelievers with a certain goodness, justice, and wisdom in human affairs, it is the righteousness of God s own character that is the standard by which all will be judged. 2.The distinction between natural and moral ability Humans possess a natural ability to obey God s commands but lack the moral ability to love God and neighbor in accord with God s righteous character; our human capacities and abilities were not lost in the fall but twisted and deformed in unrighteousness. Apart from redemption in Christ, humans are not truly persons who bear the image of God. While Lutherans also traditionally teach that the image of God was lost in the fall, differences with the Reformed are much more semantic than substantial. This delay opens up a space for God s own saving action, worked out in promise and fulfillment through redemptive history. God s call to Abraham in Genesis 12 initiates the history of Israel, which is primarily the story of a people called and kept by the gracious promises of God to the patriarchs. The history of Israel s judgment for covenant breaking, yet their gracious deliverance on the basis of God s promises to Abraham, recapitulates the story of Adam s fall and God s promises of a Seed, all pointing to their new covenant fulfillment in the person and work of ... • 6. Relationships In King Lear William Shakespeare s King Lear is massive in scope and deals with many themes. I d like to focus on King Lear s relationship with his daughters as it evolves throughout the play as well as the play King Lear s themes regarding politics and politicking. The passage I think best represents the conclusion of these themes is King Lears conversation with Cordelia in Act 5, scene 3 where they have been taken prisoner by the English. My conclusion from reading this passage closely is that in Shakespeare s King Lear, King Lear s speech to Cordelia regarding their impending imprisonment builds Shakespeare s idea of caged potential and judgement for those who politic. The first lines of this speech, No, no, no, no! Come, let s away to prison: We two alone will sing like birds i the cage: (5.3.8 9) in response to Cordelia s question of whether they should see Goneril and Regan, give us an idea of King Lear s mental state at this time in the play. King Lear appears to be lucid and to have largely regained his sanity from the earlier scenes of the play once he has reunited with Cordelia. He insists strongly, with four noes, that they should go immediately to prison. The metaphor of Lear and Cordelia as birds in a cage implies that he and Cordelia will have lost their freedom, as a bird in a cage loses its ability to fly. Yet, by saying that they shall sing in this cage, Lear says that they will be happy while they have lost flight and freedom, they will have one another. King Lear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Satire Analysis In Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , Twain uses satire to criticize many aspects of American society. His first use of satire may be overlooked by many. Twain s decision to set the novel in a time where slavery was allowed, despite the book being published in 1959, is one of his ways of making fun of American society. This detail mocks how little progress the United States made with civil rights in the century. Twain continues to mock ideals such as religion, family feuds, and greed, all of which were engrained in American society during his life time. One of the first characters that are introduced in the novel are Miss. Watson and Widow Douglas. Both women are portrayed and described as proper Christians, despite the fact that they own slaves. According to the bible, anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper s possession (Exodus 21:16). Disciples in the New Testament also spoke out against slaveryin their testaments. Despite this, the women continue to own and sell slaves. By portraying Christians in this light, Twain mocks the religion as hypocritical. The escaped slave, Jim, also serves as a mockery of religion. Jim is known to believe in almost all superstations. We all know that social networking sites changed the way we communicate, and many people are using these sites. As a teenager and a college student, social networking sites has given me a lot of information and opportunity to socialize and help for my college tests, communicating with my friends, and many more. Another positive effect of social networking sites is it providing real time news. According to a website called Pew Research Center who has experts in statistics, it stated About a quarter of all U.S. adults (26%) get news from two or more social media sites, up from 15% in 2013 and 18% in 2016. But what are the positive effects of social networking in our society? The three positive effects of social networking sites are it provides easy and instant communication, it helps college students, and it help us to find a job easily. The first positive effect of social networking site is it provides easy and instant communication. When I was in the Philippines, I was far away with my parents. The only communication that we had is through social networking sites (ex: Facebook). Social networking site has given me the opportunity to talked to my loved ones. The music becomes quiet and then he pauses before lowering himself to the floor and bowing so that his forehead touches it. The goal and symbolism of this action is that he doesn t see the performers as actors but rather 5,000 year old people. (Mason). • 11. The Pros And Cons Of The Alberta Oil Sands Have you ever thought about if the Alberta Oil Sands are an economic and environmentally sufficient enough that we should still utilize the resource of oil? The Alberta Oil Sands also known as the tar sands were first mined in 1967 and ever since they have done a great deal to Alberta s economic stability. The issue is that all good things have a bad side as well. Some main disadvantages to the oil sands is that natural habitats get destroyed, creates greenhouse gas emissions which are harmful to humans and the environment and the issue of is it more environmentally friendly to use another source for energy such as methane? The Oil Sands of Alberta is an enriched area of oil that Canada utilizes for economic stability. One main aspect of being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some pros of the oils sands are they made Canada the biggest supplier of oil to the US which allowed for the beginning of a fruitful economic partnership. The oil sands are also a stable source of energy due to the oil sands being the second largest site in the world. Alberta has flourished due to the oils sands which creates thousands of jobs for locals. On the downside there are also cons to every project. Some disadvantages to the oils sands are since the oil is so deep underground; the process of extraction is very carbon intense which creates more greenhouse gas. Thousands of bird species have a loss of their breeding grounds due to the fact that the mining operation is located where the breeding ground used to be. As of right now and our rate of consumption of oil we have approximately only 40 years worth of oil left. Some people say that we rely on the oils sands too much and eventually we will have to find a new source of energy. I say, for now it s fair to say that we will have an issue in the future about energy but for as of now it is not a huge problem. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons on the sole fact that we have this resource at our disposal and we might as well take advantage of what God has given us. From what I understand is that we are also reconstructing the landscape once we are finished with the sites so the native species will be able to inhabit the area once ... The firm was founded in 1929 by Matthew Stewart, a navy veteran who settled in Miami after World War I and began selling real estate. Since real estate sales were booming, Stewart s fortunes soared. His investment philosophy, which he proudly displayed behind his desk, was Buy land. They aren t making any more of it. Firstly, Chick fil A is the busiest restaurant I have ever seen. It is the only vendor in the mall food court that requires waiting line dividers. The double drive thru line wraps around the building most of the time. During peak hours, the parking lot is so busy that it cannot hold any more cars. Although there are plenty of competing fast food options in my town, including McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, KFC, Popeye s and Wendy s all within half a mile of the Chick fil A restaurant, people will park in the adjacent lot and walk across a busy road rather than go elsewhere for lunch. While I did not know for sure how much profit could be made from a franchise, I could only assume, based on its popularity, that it was a very lucrative business. The story of Chick fil A began in 1946 when Truett Cathy, along with his brother Ben, opened the Dwarf Grill (now the Dwarf House) near the Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly Plant. In 1960, when his second Dwarf Grill location was accidentally burned down, Truett Cathy was forced to rethink his business. His fried chicken sandwich had always sold well, but they took a long time to prepare and were more expensive compared to hamburgers and fries. In 1961, he found a pressure cooker that could cook a chicken breast in the same amount of time it took for him to grill a burger. He then sought to reduce the cost of raw chicken by purchasing boneless, skinless chicken breasts from Goode Brothers Poultry Company. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She quickly noticed how popular genres supported the campaign for abolition in the 1790s. As a result, she decided to write a novel in hopes that it would accurately convey the arguments of Rights of Womanwhile simultaneously being well received by the general public and appeal to a broader audience in this form. This was a strategic way for Wollstonecraft to get the general public to be more aware of these issues by sliding them into a fictional story. It was less of the blame game this way, by allowing the readers to disapprove and dislike the fictional husbands and men in The Wrongs of Woman; or Maria rather than their own husbands or men in real life. Those feelings could then simmer until one was ready to make a public statement or try to speak out against patriarchy. In We Real Cool, the theme impresses upon the reader that one should not follow in the footsteps of the speakers, for living an uneducated life full of danger and alcohol only results in death. One s life then becomes wasted, with no accomplishments and experiences of any worth. This poem also implies that one should never choose the road to death when life is a choice, and that education and achieving goals in life is important. However, in relation to Sadie and Maud, one shouldn t just learn, go to college, and forget to live after becoming hide away in the future stresses and problems that family members and occupations often bring. Experiencing life completely is one of the most important factors of learning and maturing, and nothing should hinder one from doing so. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Nissan Nissan has a new flagship Maxima sedan, a 2016 edition that is stylish, sporty and competitively priced. Most people consider the Maxima Nissan s largest model, but they would be wrong in that assessment, at least in one important area: total interior volume (cabin + trunk = total volume). Indeed, it is the Nissan Altima that offers the most room, even though the Maxima is recognized as the brand s flagship sedan. I recently had the Nissan Maxima in my press fleet rotation (that review will be published here later in the week), and immediately recognized that the cars are similar in size. Nissan markets the Altima in the midsize segment, a model that is only outsold by the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord and is just ahead of the Ford Fusion... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those numbers are based on SAE measurements, a voluntary way of determining trunk (storage) space as well as interior (cabin) space. It is such a convoluted process that few people will pay attention to it. Kudos to Cars.com for attempting to explain it in short, the standards are based on SAE J1100 methodology and that archetype was developed more than five decades ago. As the chart indicates, the Nissan Maxima is dead last in proportions among the flagship models. To my knowledge, Nissan isn t marketing the Maxima as its large car nor as its flagship sedan. Instead, they re emphasizing this model s sporting characteristics. Indeed, when you see the hashtag 4DSC, you re supposed to think of the Nissan Maxima and the embellishments on the transmission stick and lights. That hashtag stands for four door sports car, a marketing initiative that Nissan has used with the Maxima previously. I could have stirred the pot further by adding the midsize Hyundai Sonata to the list just above the Nissan Altima. Had I done so, you would have seen that the EPA classifies the Sonata as a large car as it has 122.4 cubic feet of interior volume or nearly 10 cubic feet more than the flagship ... The Mass Extermination Of European Jews Alexander Burgazzoli History 233 Exam 3 December 6, 2013 The mass extermination of European Jews was, without a doubt due to the actions of the Third Reich. The question up for debate was whether this extermination was a product of Adolf Hitler s methodical planning and execution under his direct order, or the accumulation of unplanned events driven by the Germans anti Semitic views? These two polar opposite views of intentionalism and structuralism both have convincing evidence that support each of their own theories. The intentionalism theory views Hitler as the mastermind behind the Final Solution, and all the events that led up to the death of nearly six million Jews. It is their idea that Hitler had been planning the annihilation of the Jewish community even years prior to him taking complete control over Germany. The anti Semitic view, the greater part of the German population shared could have been the driving force that leads structuralism ideas to form. This long lasting hatred for Jews, especially after enduring such a humiliating defeat in World War I only gave the rest of Germany more reason to turn on the Jews. They view these mass murders as simply an unplanned set of circumstances that lead to the Final Solution. If one is looking at the Nazi party from an intentionalist view point you could argue of a systematic chain of command that flowed from Hitler through all the ranks bellow him. In the tragic play Othello by William Shakespeare, Iago is a character that represents pure evil a malignant cancer to all those around him. His evil is exposed through his choice of words, his ability to manipulate people, and his opportunistic ways. First, Iago s evil is shown through his choice of words that demonstrate his vulgarity and his sinister intentions. Iago s language is extremely base and forward; he does show any remorse or sympathy in any situation. For example, Desdemona has recently married Othello; when Desdemona s father, Brabantio, hears the news he becomes enraged. To make the situation much worse, Iago says to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of his evil imagery is when he says, It is engendered. Hell and night/Must bring this monstrous birth to the worlds light. (Act 1, sc.iii, lines 396 397). His voracity is seen in this quote; he calls upon hell and night to give birth to his evil plan. The way he uses the word, hell and night, associate him with evil which derives from the word devil. Another example that proves Iago s evil imagery is when he says, Divinity of hell!/When devils will the blackest sins put on. (Act 2,sc.iii, lines 340 341). In this quote, Iago, once again calls upon hell but this time describes it as divine. Iago s sinister thoughts are of evil essence because he calls upon the blackest of sins to aid him in his evil quest. Thus, Iago s choice of words prove his sinister intentions; which also include his ability to manipulate people. Iago s evil is also demonstrated by his ability to manipulate people and situations through his words and through his actions. The first victim to fall under Iago s manipulative spell is the half witted Roderigo. Iago recognizes that Roderigo is consumed by lust for Desdemona and would go to the extremes to make her his own. The Goals Of The American Abolitionist Movement The American Abolitionist Movement The instant emancipation of slaves and the end of racial discrimination, segregation, and abuse were the goals of the American abolitionist movement. Unlike moderate anti slavery advocates who pushed or gradual emancipation as well as other activists who argued to restrict slavery to certain areas in hopes to avoid slavery being spread west, the call for immediate emancipation is was set abolitionist apart. This movement was mainly fueled by the religious excitement of the Second Great Awakening. This awakening motivated many people to support the emancipation of slavery. These ideas increasingly became popular in northern churches and even in politics in the 1830s. This also contributed to animosity between the north and the south, leading to the Civil War. The Second Great Awakening was a period of religious revival in the United States between 1790 and the 1840s. This movement brought widespread conversions, social activism, and the emergence of new Christian denominations. This wave of religious revival stimulated the establishment of many reform movements which were designed to remove the evils of society before the extremely anticipated second coming of Jesus Christ. Being that slavery was seen as one of these evils, this revival encouraged many slaves to demand their freedom. Before the 1830s, slavery was discovered calmly. Since slavery was banned in the North, most of the early abolitionists were southerners. The first abolitionists were Quakers and free blacks. Quakers believed that all people have the same spark of divinity, making slavery immoral. They were also among the first to free their slaves. Some Quakers even traveled the countryside urging slave owners to free theirs. In the 1820s, a large anti slavery movement emerged, supported by southerners and represented by organizations such as the American Colonization Society. Benjamin Lundy urged southerners to free their slaves, and for the nation to help free blacks move back to Haiti, Canada, or Texas, which during this time was still apart of Mexico.
