2. Analysis Of Getting Ryan By Chris Landreth
The long history of the combination of animation and documentary is one that stretches back to the
earliest days of moving image. One conjures up thoughts of comedy, children s entertainment and
fantasies, while the other carries with it the assumption of seriousness, education and evidence, which
can nonetheless seem oxymoronic. However these new and relatively explored sub genres actually
depict a new field in the documentary genre known as animated documentary. Filmmaker John
Grierson defines documentary as the creative treatment of actuality, (Ehrlich 248) Meaning that
documentaries do not have to be presented as only live action film but rather a variety of creative
expressions to reproduce actuality. Though animation and documentary ... Show more content on

Animation shifts and broadens the limitations of what can be shown about reality by offering new and
alternative ways of seeing the world. It allows for the conventional subject matter of documentary to
be presented in a non conventional way. It also has the potential to convey conscious experiences,
such as memories and dreams visually, which is traditionally beyond what a live action documentary
can achieve. Animation has the potential to the viewers insight into the mental states of other people.
This is the kind of technique is what Chris Landreth did when creating the animated documentary
Ryan. Landreth create metaphorical visuals and portrays the exact way he feels and sees people
around him and makes his own surreal interpretation. Landreth explains Getting inside people s heads,
and showing in a visual, metaphorical way, the thought processes, the emotional processes...
accentuates the realism of the story, and in this case a documentary... Landreth creates the
documentary with a element of humour which is not only effective and entertaining but also abruptly
brings the viewer to recognise how sombre it all it. Seeing a surreal outlook in context such as this
enchants the viewers, which is something that may have not been possible with live action

5. The Myth Of Co-Sex Marriage In Andrew Sullivan s For Gay...
In the article, For Gay Marriage, author Andrew Sullivan claims that without the right to marry that
heterosexuals possess, homosexuals are denied equality. Sullivan argues that withholding this right
will not prevent homosexual relationships; instead, it would be a measure simply to restrict the same
right heterosexuals enjoy. Not allowing these homosexual couples to marry and prove their love to
each other would prevent gay adolescents from having role models in which they can learn how a
committed homosexual relationship could be. In the article, The Myth of Co Parenting: How It Was
Supposed to Be. How It Was., author Hope Edelman exhumes that marriage is not equal, and that
women are naive to believe that it is. She also examines the faults in heterosexual marriage and how
they are blighted by falsehoods and poor relationships between parents and their children. Though
they defend two different groups of people, Sullivan and Edelman would most likely agree with one
another on the redefinitions of marriage, the need to combat society s marital expectations, and the
negative effects marriage currently has on children. Through their articles, Andrew Sullivan and Hope
Edelman give their definitions of marriage. Sullivan offers an ideology from the contemporary West
that . . . marriage has become a way in which the state recognizes an emotional commitment by two
people to each other for life (Sullivan 30), where homosexuals are entitled to the right of equality. He

7. What Is The Political Philosophy Of The Tempest
THE TEMPEST:
POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY ON SHAKESPEARE S LAST PLAY
Political Philosophy is a wide branch of philosophy that focuses statements and arguments involving
political opinion. It is all about state, politics itself, liberty, justice and the idea of authority. It tackles
the meaning of government itself, why it is needed, what makes a government legitimate, the freedom
of its underman, duties of both government and citizens and other political stuff. This type of
philosophy is being practiced since it was discovered and has two reasons. First is the method and
approach the philosopher and second is the philosopher s agenda that made him came up with the
methods he used. Political Philosophy have major theories that includes Anarchism, ... Show more

Experts have acclaimed that The Tempest did not receive a big amount of public attention and
applause before the ban on the performance of plays in 1642 and retained its popularity after the
Restoration. During 19th and 20th century, theater productions took great interest with the play and
undertook a re appraisal now saying that The Tempest is one of Shakespeare s greatest works. The
Tempest is the inspiration of 46 operas, plays, poems, and films. The story focuses with the exiled
duke of Milan, Prospero, which was brought to an island on the Mediterranean border which he
claimed to be the master. There he raised his daughter from childhood, Mirana, and encountered the
fascinating creature Caliban and the spirit Ariel. Prospero made Ariel his right hand while Caliban
became a slave who is the previous master of the island. Prospero made a Tempest which he said to
come from the use of witchcraft or magic to manipulate certain things just like the storm that hit the
ship of the King of Naples. We might have seen The Tempest as a supernatural literary piece but
almost all of the characters on the play are just part of Prospero s political experiment. Prospero was
once a philosopher in Milan but after he was overthrown, he started to realize the meaning of
Machiavellian politics. Prospero is shown to act according to his own philosophy but is shown that it
is not his main motivation for his actions. Prospero main motivation must be creating the best regime.
It is in the story that parallels the Old Testament and the creation of Israel. As we can see, the royal
group in the ship and the drunkards represents the flaws of human nature. Prospero noticed this flaws
and corrects them through establishing some sort of modern Israel. Prospero s leadership is planned to
be a nation where justice will be seen and

8. The Rise Of The Industrial Revolution
With the hum of new machines came the buzz of prominent voices and ideologies within the Industrial
Revolution. The Industrial Revolution began in England around the eighteenth century. It was a period
of time where there was a transition from rural agriculture to powered machinery, and mass
production of goods. Though the goods increased, a new social system also emerged, which
consequently caused tensions between the working class and the bourgeoisie. These strains between
the proletarian group and the bourgeoisie gave rise to many political responses as to how the economy
should be carried out. Philosophers of the Industrial Revolution often debated on whether to leave the
economic system for how it was, a call for reform, or overthrowing the system as a whole by means of
a revolution. The philosophers that defended the new system believed that the economic structure
should have the freedom from government intervention, called the laissez faire political economy, so
that they could act on self interest in order to create greater goods for the greatest profit. A notable
philosopher who strongly defended the new economic system was Harriet Martineau. Harriet
Martineau was a classic liberal who firmly believed that workers should leave their wages to the
supply and demands of the free market. She defended the laissez faire system because she believed
that the competition in the market would lead to a balance between payout and profit, which would
lead to higher wages and

Ivan Pavlov
Classical conditioning is a method used in behavioral studies. It is known as classical because it is the
first study of laws of learning/conditioning, It is a learned reaction that you do when evoked by a
stimulus.
Ivan Pavlov was the scientist who discovered classical conditioning. Ivan Pavlov was born in Russia.
He lived from 1849 1936 . Pavlov s field of study was physiology and natural science.
One of Pavlov s discoveries was the conditioning of dogs. While working with the dogs he
investigated the salivation reaction when food was present. He discovered that the dogs would salivate
when he entered the room with and without food. Pavlov then went on to training the dogs. He would

The animal would response. It would then be rewarded. The response is then learned. If the response
was not rewarded then it would disappear over time. The animals would be placed into the puzzle
boxes and would only be able to escape by making certain responses such as pushing a button. The
experiment with the cats entailed placing a hungry cat into the puzzle box. He then observed its
behaviour. The cat would try and escape in order to obtain food. The cat in most cases would act on a
trial and error method. When the cat obtained the food the trial and error behaviour decreased and the
cat soon learnt how to escape quickly. The learnt behaviour took time and did not improve quickly.
The amount of time the cat spent in the box slowly shorted. Upon completion of his experiment
Thorndike learnt that certain stimuli and responses became associated or dissociated from each other.
He developed his law of effect.
Thorndike concluded that animals learn by trial and error, or most importantly by reward and
punishment. He then linked the behavior of the cats to all beings. His work with animals was the
founding principle of Instrumental Learning. His most famous work was on the learning theory that
lead to the development of operant conditioning by a psychologist called Burrhus.Frederic Skinner.
Skinner was born in Pennsylvania on March 20, 1904. Skinners first studied English at Hamilton
College. He often wrote for the college newspaper. He

Weekly Reflection: Week 11 China Men Question #2 Known for her notable achievements in memoirs
and fiction, Maxine Hong Kingston published China Men: a literature composed of stories about
Chinese men in her family. One story distinguishes the heroic journey of grandfather Ah Goong. Ah
Goong worked to build the railroad, but was driven out when it was completed in 1869; he then
became a homeless wanderer in San Francisco. Upon hearing this fact, Kingston s family called him
Fleaman as they did not understand his accomplishments as an American ancestor, a holding, homing
ancestor of this place (Kingston 151). What Kingston actually meant by Ah Goong being an American
ancestor was that he had many accomplishments, but those achievements weren t communicated to
Kingston s family. To support this claim, I will talk about how Ah Goong s accomplishments were

14. Plato s Apology And Ralph Waldo Emerson s On Self Reliance
Through Plato s Apology and Ralph Waldo Emerson s Self Reliance both contend that living an
unexamined life is living a life of ignorance and futility. On the other hand, living an examined life is
living an enlightened life full of intelligence. I agree with Plato and Emerson s similar ideas that
without knowledge, life as it is, is not worth living. They both argue that having personal beliefs
creates an intelligent society. Having knowledge allows for one to set goals and objectives to achieve
within a lifetime, which gives purpose to one s life. In Plato s Apology , Plato tells the story of
Socrates, a philosopher from Athens, Greece, who is accused by three men, a poet, a scholar and a
politician for having opposing beliefs. His charges are all based on the fact that he is a natural
philosopher and that he believes what is considered not to be the social norm. One of the charges he
faces is that he is accused of being a doer of evil, and corrupts the youth (Plato, 198). Socrates is
assumed to be someone who only harms others because he is considered to be evil. They admit that
since he does not care to accept what they consider to be true, then he must be doing evil. Socrates is
charged with corrupting the youth with his knowledge, yet when he addresses it to his accusers and
the court, he questions the charge by stating that if Meletus, his accuser, is charging him of corrupting
the youth then, Come hither. Meletus, and let me ask a question of you. You

Online University s Bachelor s Degree Program Ad Campaign
At the center of any effective advertising campaign is a very clear definition of who the customer is,
what their needs are, and what expectation they have of service. For an online university bachelor s
degree program this is critically important to the success of any advertising, public relations and
marketing program. The student and their needs to become the center of these strategies if they are to
succeed.
For any student considering one online university bachelor s program over another, their criterion will
include expertise of the facility, ease of using the online tools and what the total experience will be
like. Marketing services based businesses incouding education on the dimensions of student or
customer experience is critical to their success. Services must underscore the role of experiences in
benefitting and increasing the value delivered to customers; just speaking of features or functional
attributes of a service is not sufficient (Palmer, 2010).
The advertising, PR and marketing strategies all must be coordinated around a common message to
prospective students that underscore the online universities competencies and show it is worthy of
trust. Prospective students are evaluating online universities as the foundations for their future and

I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my

of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough.

24. The Issue Of Child Marriage Essay
Child marriage is one of the hardest things a teenage child could face. It is basically a violation of
children s human rights. It is strictly prohibited by international law. Early marriage takes away the
girls right to make important decisions about their sexual health and well being. Historically,
patriarchal societies have marginalized women in various aspects across the world. Women
disenfranchisement, in this way, is not a new phenomenon. However, with the passage of time women
have been able to claim their rights and are seen at par with men in many developed societies. But the
misfortune still persists in many parts of the world. Many societies still fail to see woman as fully
human and fail to appreciate their role in the building of society. As a result, women are still subject to
grave injustice in many societies and such societies also suffer from underdevelopment for minimal
role of women in their development. Nepal is a country where women suffer from the issue of Child
or Early Marriages . This is a century s long practice in Nepal and unfortunately nothing significant
has appeared in form of tangible indicators that indicate the improvement in this grave scenario.
International community and NGOs are working on this issue of Nepal as their priority but
unfortunately with little success. Nepal government has also been brought in line on this and it has
committed to ensure elimination of this devastating practice by 2030 BS. With its universal
consequences,

Assignment Question:
A person who is charged with a criminal offence enjoys certain rights. The principle right is that of the
right to silence and the right not to incriminate yourself. The right to silence is an immunity, which
differs in nature, origin, incidence and importance. The suspect s immunity was developed in order to
avoid the risk of untrue confessions being obtained from a person in police custody. The law does not
prohibit a suspect from confessing to a crime. It does however provide that a suspect should be free to
remain silent should he so choose and that he should be informed of his right to do so.

The privilege against self incrimination was seen in the case of Re National Irish Bank . Here some
inspectors were investigating a company in connection with some criminal offences. The employees in
this company refused to answer the questions given to them claiming that they didn t have to answer
these questions because they enjoyed the constitutional right to silence under the case of Heaney v.
Ireland .
Here the right to silence was restricted, as the inspectors had powers that were no greater than what is
required by the public. Therefore the employees had to answer the questions put forward to them by
the inspectors.
In this case, Justice Barrington looked at the privilege against self incrimination in case law in order to
see whether any of the information consumed by the inspector from the accused person involuntary
answering the questions put to him were capable of being used against the accused in court.
The conclusion made by Justice Barrington stated that although some legislation restricted the right to
silence and required the accused person to answer questions unwillingly, however these answers might
not be used against him as evidence in his trial.
Immunity against self incrimination of an accused person was made in order to avoid the risk of the
accused person in providing false confessions while he is in Garda custody.

27. The Importance Of Character Development In Anthem
Character development is essential in a character driven literature, where the plot focuses not on the
events themselves, but actually on the characters motivations throughout their story. This literary
device is utilized step by step in order to focus and clarify the crucial aspects about the character in a
story. The stories that move us most, the ones that will be trapped inside our minds years later, are
those inhabited by characters the reader can connect with on a deep emotional level. No one character
can grasp in a story what they need to learn in order to give in or overcome their own limitations and
flaws without first undergoing rigorous life experiences. The bumpy path of individual growth and
development a certain character undergoes ultimately stares at a crossroad. Imperfections, traits and
vices make a character more genuine and interesting, making them grow as a person. Equality 7 2521
s development as a character throughout Anthem can be seen as a progressive move towards the
distinctive way of thinking he discovers and presents in the final chapters of the novel. It s an egoistic
way of thinking, because it asserts that the only goal of any individual human being should be to
pursue his own happiness, and not to subordinate his happiness to the service of others. Equality 7
2521 begins Anthem with a declaration of his sins, indicating the degree to which his society has
influenced the development of his thoughts. There is quite a shift from the way

3. As far as wireless goes, given the distinct network advantage that Rogers has (with a coverage of
95% of Canada and the most roaming partnerships) and taking advantage of a 69% penetration in
Canada, the strategy to push customers into adopting smart phones (also considering that only a 31%
of Rogers wireless users were smart phone users) is the right one. One area that we should explore is
the enterprise segment. Given our relationship with Apple and other manufacturers, we should seek
partnerships with devices manufacturers, where we could agree to buy in bulk, with a significant
discount per phone and a minimum term contract. Wireless expected growth of 5% annually for the
next several years, there´s an increased customer demand for data driven services, data is twice as
profitable as voice, and the significant data revenue growth experienced in 2009, all support the
previous statement (even though the ARPU ha a minor decline in 2009).
4. It is important to pay attention to those manufacturers that are working with android (Not only

34. The Genius Of Fitzgerald By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Nick Drake
Ms. Howe Dr. Myhan
World Cultures
24 January 2016
The Genius of Fitzgerald In order to spot a literary genius, it is necessary for one to first define the
word literary genius. What makes a literary genius? Though a broad term that can be applied to many
situations, a literary genius can best be described as an author who has a timeless impact on literature
with themes that resonate with every kind of person. F. Scott Fitzgerald, along with several others, is
the epitome of a literary genius. Fitzgerald s works like This Side of Paradise and Tender is the Night
are both great stories and, in a deeper and more analytical context, works that reflect the reality of the
world. The world isn t in the most ideal state, and Fitzgerald knows that. From describing the
lonesome life of wealth and riches to examining how people feel about romance, Fitzgerald s works
will always be applicable to life.
In This Side of Paradise, the main character, Amory Blaine, is essentially on a quest to find values that
suit him. Throughout every aspect of life, Blaine is found repeatedly trying and failing different
methods of living. Blaine was raised in a very unconventional environment. Due to this, Blaine is seen
trying to counter this upbringing by acting in a conventional manner. This is first observed when
Blaine comes back to Beatrice after a 2 year separation. No, Beatrice. I enjoyed them. I adapted
myself to the bourgeoisie. I became conventional. (Paradise ?). With that in

35. Causes Of Unemployment In Nigeria
Unemployment in some cases is not an individual problem. While some may think that unemployment
is always the beholders fault, in Nigeria however, it is quite the contrary. Raw data and statistics can
show exactly why a country has an unemployment problem. Along with that, causes of unemployment
can be significant to why unemployment is such a critical problem. Even more, the effects of
unemployment hint to the future of any country that struggles with this. With all of this in mind, one
must wonder how much unemployment really affects a country. Sometimes, the cold hard facts will
provide better evidence to why unemployment is more of a problem than some realize. Statistics can
be just as vital to understanding the problem of unemployment. Nigerian unemployment rate has
skyrocketed from 10.4% in the last quarter of 2015 to 14.2% in the respective last quarter in 2016.
That is an increase of 3.8% which is the highest job spike since 2009 ( Nigeria Unemployment Rate

(Nigeria Population LIVE P.1), 7,296,000 became unemployed, making the total amount of people
unemployed 27,264,000. In the previous quarter, the jobless rate was 13.9 percent. Unemployment
Rate in Nigeria averaged 9.76 percent from 2006 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 19.70

37. Comparing Debt Financing and Equity Financing Essay
There are two basic ways of financing for a business: Debt financing and equity financing. Debt
financing is defined as borrowing money that is to be repaid over a period of time, usually with
interest (Financing Basics, 1). The lender does not gain any ownership in the business that is
borrowing. Equity financing is described as an exchange of money for a share of business ownership
(Financing Basics, 1). This form of financing allows the business to obtain funds without having to
repay a specific amount of money at any particular time. There are also a few different instruments
that could be defined as either debt or equity. One such instrument is stock options that an employee

Now I will discuss the pros and cons of the alternative decision, which is a combination of the debt
and equity methods. A positive of this method is that the instrument is split between debt and equity.
The company could just split it up 50/50 between the two methods. Also if they had too much debt,
they could account for the instrument with 20% as debt and 80% as equity. This would make it look as
if they do not have too much debt or too much equity. This method would be an advantage, if the
company were looking to get more financing in the future.
A negative aspect of this method is how the instrument is split between debt and equity. An example
would be if the company split an instrument 50/50 between the two methods. This may seem fair
when first accounting for it, but what if the split did not represent the actual split of the instrument. Let
s say that it turns out that 90% of the instrument ends up being equity, and 10% ends up debt. The
books would be off by quite a bit, and creditors my not be happy with the company when they learn of
this.
Now that I have discussed pros and cons of each method, I will now explain the instrument that I will
be using as an example. I will be using stock options as the instrument. Stock options are offered by
many businesses to employees that stay with the company for a specified length of time. It is offered

44. Sexualizing Women
Women are sexualized, and have been sexualized, in and out of the public s eye, for decades.
Sexualizing women has had a huge impact on the entertainment industry, especially for men. Many
retail stores use sexual appeal to sell their products and other companies, like Playboy, thrive off the
money made from under clothed models. These companies have made millions, if not billions, of
dollars because people (mostly men) are willing to pay for a still photograph for certain
(unmentionable) pleasures. Now, to each their own on their opinion to stop sexualizing women,
however, unless some drastic influence happens, sexualizing women might stop but, it is not very
likely because of the many other influences that it has on our society. Norma ... Show more content on

Expressing one s sexuality is important in confidence in and outside of intimate encounters.
Confidence can lead to breakthroughs in women s personal lives and careers. Monroe grew up
fatherless and with a mother who was schizophrenic. Her mother s disease made her unfit to raise her.
Monroe was then given to her mother s best friend, Aunt Grace, but Aunt Grace ended up giving
Monroe to an orphanage; she was in and out of the orphanage and foster homes for years (Real Life
Marilyn Monroe). Going from trying to be raised in a normal family to being given away for someone
else s responsibility may have a toll on an individual s mental health. From an outside perspective, it is
hard to understand what it feels like not to be loved. When Monroe s beauty was discovered, attention
and lust was, and still is, poured on her. This attention could have led to the increase of expression of
her cherished self. On the set of one of her last movies, There s no Business Like Show Business,
Monroe worked closely with Mitzi Gaynor who became a close friend of hers. Gaynor describes
Monroe as being empowering, strong, and great with her lines she steals the picture (Real Life

Actuaries and Physical Therapists Does anyone have a hard time choosing what career or job which
they really want to do in the future? I personally have two jobs that I am considering right now:
actuary and physical therapist. Actuaries basically manage risk. They help organizations plan for the
future and protect themselves from loss. Physical therapists use a variety of techniques to improve
mobility, relieve pain and prevent permanent physical disabilities in their patients. The reason why I
am choosing between these two jobs is very much related to my past experience. Since my youth, I
was influenced by my elder sister who is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, some top earners earn more than that.
Moreover, both actuaries and physical therapists are high demand jobs. According to Bureau of Labor
Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook (2010), demand for actuary in United States will see a
projected growth rate of 27% through 2020. The education process and examination procedure for
becoming fully qualified actuaries can be very demanding, causing this profession to remain very
small in the world. As a result, actuaries are in high demand, and they are highly paid for the services
they provide. The reason for actuaries to be high in demand is because the students that were studying
actuarial science in college tend to change majors into an easier course because they find it hard to
cope with the tremendous pressure. For them, it was very stressful to take a series of professional
papers where the probability to pass those exams were extremely low. There are a number of my
friends which started off their first year of college studying actuarial science, changed into some easier
course later on, such as Business Administration. The journey of becoming physical therapists is also
not easy. All physical therapists must receive a graduate degree before taking the National Physical
Therapy Examination that allows them to practice. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
Occupational Outlook Handbook (2010), demand for physical therapists in United States will see a
