The Passionate Shepherd
Marlowe s The Passionate Shepherd to His Love, and Raleigh s The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd,
are both amazing poems that we can t help but want to compare and contrast. The sassy Nymph who
turns away the Shepherd s declare of love. The Shepherd, who offers material objects to show his
love, and the Nymph, the fair maiden who denies his feelings; the tales of unrequited love. The
Passionate Shepherd to His Love portrays a world of love and feelings. The Shepherd offers wondrous
gifts to his love in hopes that he will capture her heart. Marlowe used soft imagery, making the poem
feel lovely and sweet. The Shepherd is seen as a man with a good heart and appears to have good
intentions. The Shepherd offers a bed of roses, and a gown of the finest wool. And we will sit upon the
rocks, seeing the shepherds feed their flocks, by shallow rivers to whose falls melodious birds sing
madrigals. In this quote, he offers her a lovely day of peace and love. ... Show more content on

The Shepherd s gifts, forgotten and unwanted, for they are material items that can wither. The Nymph
accuses the Shepherd for lying, saying that he holds no truth to his words. The time passes, and it as if
she says that she doesn t want to waste her love and time on someone who promises empty words. The
imagery in this poem is much darker, making the happy imagery from The Passionate Shepherd to His
Love rough and cold. An example of the Nymph changing the imagery is, Time drives the flocks from
field to fold when rivers rage and rocks grow cold, and Philomel becometh dumb; The rest complains

Pollution In San Joaquin Valley
Pollution Control
Often while driving through the valley you may start to smell a particular difference in the air, and not
in a good way. Perhaps you didn t know that San Joaquin Valley is one of two districts in the county to
be classified by Enviornmental Protection Agency (EPA) as extreme nonattainment ( The Air District s
Mission ), which means it is considered to have the worst air quality; worse than the National Ambient
Air Quality Standards as defined in the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1970 ( Google ). Also, San
Joaquin County is one of the nine areas in the country to be designated as a serious nonattainment area
for particulate matter ( The Air District s Mission ). Although the air quality is not great here in the

Central Valley Have Such Bad Air Pollution? ). Not much air pollution comes from different places
but the northern part of the district which consist of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced get 27% of
there air pollution from San Francisco Bay Sacramento. Where as the central region that consist of
Fresno, Madera and Kings counties only transport 11% air pollution to us and finally a very minimal

The Gettysburg Address
Introduction
Gettysburg Address is one of the important dictations of values that provided much needed direction
for the future leadership of the United States. It shaped the societal values and beliefs of the country.
This assertion can be affirmed with the speech s enduring presence in the US culture. Notwithstanding
its noticeable place cut into stone units on the south divider of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington,
D.C., the Gettysburg Address is every now and again pointed to in works of popular culture. With the
understood motive that contemporary crowds can be acquainted with Lincoln s expressions.

The Text of the Gettysburg Address
Soon after Everett s overall appropriated comments, Lincoln gave his address that lasted only a couple
of minutes. In this short time, he used ten sentences to aptly summarize the war and the way ahead for
the United States.
The five known composition copies of the Gettysburg Address are named for the individuals who
obtained it from Lincoln. Lincoln provides a copy to his private secretaries, John Hay and John
Nicolay. Both of the aforementioned copies were composed around the time of his November 19
address, while the other three duplicates of the speech, the Bliss, Bancroft, and Everett duplicates, and
were composed by President Lincoln for philanthropic purposes. These copies were sent well later to
November 19, the actual date of the famous address. Since then these copies have ended up being the
standard content of Lincoln s Gettysburg Address (LoC, 2012).
Both the Nicolay and Hay duplicates of the Address are inside the Library of Congress. It is enclosed
in exceptionally manufactured, temperature regulated; argon gas filled and sealed containers. The idea
is to ensure that the original copy is safe from gradual continued deterioration and oxidation (LoC,
2012).

Is Donald Trump A Good Or Bad President
It s presidential election days and people are insane in how Donald Trump will act as good or bad

Abraham Promises
The Bible teaches that God s longing to redeem the world has always been His desire, but sinful man
has refused God s grace. The appeal to man to turn from his selfish ways dates back to the Old
Testament and is clearly displayed in the actions God puts into place with Abraham and the formation
of the nation of Israel. These activities are evident in Abraham and the nation of Israel through
promises made, examples to show His glory, and Israel s comparison to the Church today.
Promises Made
In Genesis, God promised blessings to Abraham that would carry to his descendants (Gen. 12:2 3
[NASB]).1 Through these blessings, one man and his family would benefit the whole world and begin
a process of ingathering from the darkness and disintegration ... Show more content on

As part of those activities, the Scripture clearly indicates His desire to declare Himself to all nations,
tongues, and tribes. Walter Kaiser explains that the Old Testament unfolds a plan (Gen. 12:3), a
purpose (Ps. 67:1 7) and the need for participation (Exod. 19:4 6) by the nation of Israel.11 There are
three significant areas that serve as evidence of God s intentions. They are the use of the Israelites to
reach the world as a proclamation, Abraham s specific calling to become a priestly nation, and the
nation as an example.
God s plan and work are directed to the entire of humanity with His desire to save all of mankind.12
However, man s struggle against God is apparent in events such as the attempt to reach heaven at
Babel (Gen. 11:1 9) and the universal condemnation of wickedness, which caused the great flood
(Gen. 6:5).13 Israel was designed to be a solid foundation for other nations to turn to. Verkuyl states
that even the nations who oppose God will one day celebrate in restored fellowship.14 Israel will
become the permanent presence of God s people acting and relating with the world. God s word even
makes provision to those who choose to join the nation and accepts them as one born into the
community (Exod. 12:48 49).15 While they were never to become part of the world, Isreal was to live
in the world and be set aside for the purposes of

Cheer Is A Sport Essay
Cheer has been around for a long time. It may not be the oldest or best sport in the world, but it is
definitely a sport. Cheerleading has gone from cheering on sports to All Star cheer, competing. Many
people have said cheer isn t a sport, but there are rules and requirements that make cheer a sport just
like football or soccer.
Cheer was founded by Johnny Campbell, he lead the first cheers on November, 1898 at the Minnesota
University American football game. Campbell helped the crowd cheer for their team and helped their
team to wins by cheering and encouraging. Cheerleaders have been required to lift up and throw
people in the air, along with tumbling, jumps, and dance. These require the strength of football, grace
of dance, and agility of gymnastics. The skills performed go beyond the limits of the body. Safety
organizations like ,AACCA, have been formed because of the requirements and skills of cheer.
Coaches have been professionally trained at national conventions. This sport takes a lot of time
commitment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

2011 report from National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research, found that High school and

cheerleading as a sport. Cheer became its own competitive sport in its own right. American Academy
of Pediatricians called for more attention to cheer injuries and giving the sports label to cheer. But
Federal appeals court ruled Quinnipiac College in Connecticut can not count cheer as a sport under

Comparing The Game-Cock And The Goose
A race between a game cock and a goose? That would be quite interesting to watch! Illustrated by
John L. Magee and published in New York by the Office of Yankee Notions in 1852, The Game Cock
the Goose depicts rival candidates Winfield Scott and Franklin Pierce in the 1852 election race. The
question is: who will win? At first glance, I saw two different birds in a race. Winfield Scott, the man
sitting aboard an elegant game cock (left), tips his hat as he slowly pulls ahead of Pierce. Pierce
(right), on the other hand, is about to fall off his mount, a goose. The pair compete before an interested
and animated audience. Scott and Pierce are both wearing military uniforms, but only Scott has a
bicorne hat. This is because in the Mexican American

The Hindu Faith is an indigenous theology and philosophy...
The Hindu Faith is an indigenous theology and philosophy of India spanning thousands of years.
Reincarnation is the center of the Faith, the teaching that all things become unified through living
many lives. After each cycle of life, karma decides which caste or level of life a person will next
experience. Lying, cheating scumbags, who were greedy and did not assist the poor could be
reincarnated upon death into a life of poverty and illness. With a little hope, such a soul would learn a
valuable lesson and the next time around would be a bit more comfortable. Some Hindus also believe
that a human can be reincarnated as an animal. Whether that is karma from a good or bad previous
life, one can only guess.

Atharvaveda Verses that speculate on the earth human connection and other philosophical ideas.
Hymns throughout the Rigveda are referred to as Samhitas. Brahmanas are textual verses that explain
ritual prayers and relay instructional information. Aranyakas and Upanishads propose speculative
theologies and philosophical concepts. Long practiced traditions and cultural behaviors determine the
specific school of philosophy each Hindu will follow. Six major schools of philosophy exist within
Hinduism. Each school, or Darśana, is separate from the others, but they are all centered on verses in
the Vedas. Sage Kapila orally addressed the natural and spiritual worlds in the Samkhya School
founded in the 6th century BC. It is the most ancient Hindu school of Hindu thought. Nyaya is the
school of logical thought introduced by Aksapada Gautama in approximately the 5th century BC. The
philosophy stresses the importance of knowledge and scientific theory. Vaisheshika, the atomic school,
instituted by Sage Kannada in the 3rd century BC, attempts to answer questions surrounding the
creation of the universe and the connection between life sustaining substances and the soul. The
philosophy states that Brahman instills consciousness in all atoms, the smallest form of life. Sage
Patanjalt, founder of the Yoga school in the 2nd century BC, proposed that mastering Yoga could
transform the physical and spiritual self. The Yoga school and Samkhya are closely related
philosophies.

Factors Of Career And Personality Assessments
Pathway to Elementary Education Emily is college freshman at Tarrant County College, a community
college based in Fort Worth, Texas. Emily plans to attend junior college for a year and then would like
to transfer to a larger university. She is struggling with the decision of choosing a major. Deciding
what she wants to do for the rest of her life is very stressful. Her parents think she should go into the
medical field because the jobs are plentiful, but she never did well in her science classes in high
school, and the sight of blood makes her sick. Emily mentioned that she worked with the second grade
class at church and always enjoyed her time with this age group. She wonders if this interest might be
something she should pursue. As Emily s academic advisor, I suggested some helpful steps she should
take that would assist her in making these important decisions.
Assessments
One of the first steps in helping a student who is undecided about their degree is to suggest useful
assessments. Career and personality assessments are beneficial in several ways. They can help provide
insight into personality traits, skills, and interests of a student. The results in turn can help students
make connections between these traits and careers that they are well suited for. There are two tools in
particular that I find beneficial. The first is a database called O*Net Online. This website has
assessment tools to measure abilities, interests, knowledge and skills. It also has

Virginia Essay
The name Virginia is the oldest designation for English claims in North America. The name Virginia
was proposed by Sir Walter Raleigh to Queen Elizabeth I. The chief of the Indians of the area, the
Sectoans, was called Wingina which could have influenced the name. In 1585, Sir Walter Raleigh
launched a colonization expedition to Roanoke island that failed. But when Sir Francis Drake arrived
in 1586 the colonists wanted to go home. The lack of supply ships made them eventually abandon the
colony with only one clue to where they went, a word carved into a tree, Croatoan . The colony was
chartered in 1606 by King James I for the apparent purpose of spreading Christianity but it was to

Jamestown Island was cut off from the mainland and provided little game, no fresh drinking water,
and very limited ground for farming. Captain Newport returned to England twice, delivering the First
Supply and the Second Supply missions during 1608, and leaving the Discovery for the use of the
colonists. However, death from disease and conflicts with the Natives Americans took a fearsome toll
of the colonists. Despite attempts at mining minerals, growing silk, and exporting the native Virginia
tobacco, no profitable exports had been identified, and it was unclear whether the settlement would
survive financially. On May 31, 1607, about 100 men and boys left England for what is now Maine.
Approximately three months later, the group landed on a wooded peninsula where the Kennebec River
meets the Atlantic Ocean and began building Fort St. George. By the end of the year, due to limited
resources, half of the colonists returned to England. Late the next year, the remaining 45 sailed home,
and the Plymouth company fell dormant. Following the abandonment of the Plymouth company
settlement in 1609 the London Company decided to expand Virginia south of the 39th parallel and
north up to the 34th parallel hopefully reaching from sea to sea as the London Company said they
would go all the way to what is now California. This encouraged investors

Summary Of Babe Ruth
With the way the author, Bryson describes George Ruth s upbringing and the tough hand that Babe
was dealt with at such an early age, it seems as if he painted a fairy tale with happily ever after at the
end. To read and to try and grasp what Babe Ruth was able to achieve, it is the most unbelievable
underdog story that I have ever read. While I was reading, I had the feeling that Bill Bryson believed
that George Ruth was a good person and even coming from such a rough city such as Baltimore. He
even disagreed with what babe said in his autobiography. In the book, Bryson says The opening
sentence of Ruth s autobiography is, I was a bad kid. Which is no more than partly true (Bryson 107).
By just the second sentence in the second paragraph, it is clear that Bryson thought, even since Ruth s
childhood, he is a good kid who was stuck behind the 8 ball. Coming from an impoverished family,
having almost all of his siblings die, losing both his father and mother who were distracted anyway.
His mother slowly dying of tuberculosis and his father single handedly running their saloon during all
of his waking hours just so they could have money to survive (Bryson 107). While reading this initial
background on Babe Ruth, I didn t know just how rough he had it. I assumed like most of the athletes
in today s world, his family was able to pay for him to have baseball lessons and training with some of
the best trainers that money can buy. Knowing that Babe Ruth was the epitome of an

Hepatitis A Essay
Introduction:
Hepatitis is caused by a virus that is targeted at the liver, one of your most important organs!!
Specifically, it causes inflammation and injury to the liver. Hepatitis comes in many different forms,
five to be exact. There is Hepatitis A, B, C, D amp; E. Hepatitis is caused mainly by viruses, all of
which are set on shutting down your liver. I will be specifically concentrating on Hepatitis A in this
report. Hepatitis A is also known as infectious Hepatitis, an extremely contagious viral infection that
often effects young children and young adults, especially those in large groups. It has been known to
break out in schools, summer camps and music festivals etc.
Hepatitis A is also very common in developing nations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This keeps up for a few days and you begin to feel a loss of appetite as well as nausea. A low grade
fever between 100 °f 102 °f is present. A pain and discomfort in the abdomen above the liver is also
common, due to enlargement of the liver. After a few days of torture, a person s urine becomes darker
than usual and then jaundice, (a yellowish discoloration of the skin) appears. Jaundice and the dark
urine indicate that liver is not functioning properly in removing a reddish yellow pigment called
bilirubin from the blood.
Treatment / Prevention:
There is no specific treatment for viral Hepatitis. Bed rest and preferably hospitalization is a necessary
step in the early treatment. Even though Hepatitis A is a highly contagious virus, isolation of the
patient to a single room is not necessary. However, proper prevention methods such as washing your
hand after handling the patient, careful handling of the body fluids and feces and wearing gloves when
drawing blood is important.
Prolonged bed rest is not essential for full recovery but patients feel better with restricted physical
activity. A high calorie diet is a good idea and because many patients have nausea late in the day, the
major caloric intake is best given in the morning. Intravenous feeding is necessary if the patient has
continuos vomiting. Isolation of the patient to a single room and bath room is unnecessary, however
the patient and other people in contact should be

Xerox and Fuji Xerox
The structure of the joint venture between Xerox Corporation and Fuji Xerox became an issue in the
beginning of the 90´s. The growth of the competence from Canon, Richoh and Minolta in the low end
copiers and Kodak and IBM in the high end has led them to lose market share. The growth of the
Asian and South Pacific Market as well as the necessity of Fuji Xerox to be more independent
becomes a challenge for the managers of the Xerox Group. We need to find the best practices in
product designs, manufacturing, and management ideas to continue this synergy and fight against the
growing competence.
To understand our situation in this case we most analyze how Fuji Xerox became important for Xerox

(China and Australia the most important) Xerox Company should analyze more deeply the idea of

more profitable for the group to produce and deliver products for this market through Fuji Xerox than
from RX as now being done.
The last question to asses would be: Is there conditions for the sustainability of the joint venture? We
can see by the increase of sales and processes improvement that this partnership could promote
stability in the long term, but we should focus in organize the internal problems the most important
issue is to align interest of the companies. Therefore we should align which markets should Fuji Xerox

Xerox had come to recognize Fuji Xerox as a critical asset and we get to the conclusion that Fuji
Xerox does create value. Xerox Should gives more autonomy in order to compete directly with our

Organic Compounds
Organic Compounds CH3CH2 O CH2CH2CH2CH3 This chemical is known as butyl ethyl ether. It is
a type of ether that is a colorless liquid and falls within the R O R functional group (Chemical Book,
2012). The compound is extremely flammable, and as such, fire and other safety professionals must
take great care when handling chemical fires burning with the substance. The research shows that the
compound will be easily ignited by heat, sparks or flame, but also that vapors may form explosive
mixtures with air. Vapors may travel to source of ignition and flash back (Chemical Book, 2012). This
makes the vapor from this organic compound incredibly dangerous in terms of fire risk in doors, but
can also cause problems outdoors as well. Fire and safety officials must be careful in enclosed areas.
Often, this flash will spread throughout lower lying areas, such as basements and sewers. Moreover, it
is incompatible with oxidizing agents, making it unsafe to try to extinguish chemical fires of this
nature with water (Chemical Book, 2012). CH3CH2CH CH2CH2OH I CH3 The chemical compound
presented here is also known as 3 methyl pentanol. It is based on an alcohol in the OH functional
group. Thus, it has the functional group of R O H (TCI America, 2012). Along with the other chemical

Chrysler in Trouble
Executive Summary
The automobile market is one of the most lucrative markets in the world. They have focused on
international expansion since the late 1900s. This market has very successful international companies
such as Mercedes Benz, Lexis, Hyundai, Chrysler, Camry, Fiat, etc. All of these firms have held a
position in the automobile industry. Even in economic hardships when demand for automobiles was
decreased, the market did not faze them. Two firms prominent in this industry are Chrysler and Fiat
which have both held successful positions in the late 1900s. Due to decreased market demand and
lackluster products both firms have drastically diminished their market appeal. This has led to
decreased profits which have led to European ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The employment level first dipped below one million in 2007 and fell to 880,000 workers last year.
With the restructuring and bankruptcy of Chrysler and General Motors, and the ongoing recession in
the auto sector, employment in the nation s automotive manufacturing industry will most likely shrink
in 2009 and 2010 as additional assembly, powertrain, and auto parts plants close.
Economically the automobile industry is an oligopoly. This is why the Big 3 remains the Big 3. The
nature of building cars makes it difficult for small players to enter the market. The cost of entry is
high. As an oligopoly, the Big 3 also tend to pay more attention to one another than to customers or
competitors. If GM adds airbags, Chrysler and Ford add airbags. Being the smallest, Chrysler tends to
follow rather than lead. Ideas generated outside the Big 3 tend to be ignored.
When times are good, automakers can sell anything they can produce. That includes bad cars. But
during recessions, automakers lose billions of dollars just maintaining operations. This is basically due
to the high fixed costs. And those costs are getting higher as tight union contracts make labor a fixed
cost.
The industry consists of six segments: three mature markets (North America, Japan and Western
Europe) and three emerging markets (Asia Pacific, Eastern

Essay On Opening A Business
Construct force. Longing for propelling a business will just get you up until this point. You need to
follow up on your vision eventually. Make sense of something that will constrain you into movement,
says Holdford. That could be going to systems administration occasions or, in case you re
unemployed, taking a between time work that will get you once more into the routine of working.
Never let the law of inactivity grab hold. On the off chance that you sit home sufficiently long, that
latency is practically difficult to defeat, he says. Try not to stop your normal everyday employment.

Rule THAT HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF FAILURE IN BUSINESS Maybe our very
own couple disappointments are lethal, business analyst and Financial Times editorialist Tim Harford
writes in his new book, Adapt: Why Success Always Starts With Failure. This might be valid, yet we
unquestionably don t act like it. At the point when our errors gaze us in the face, we regularly discover
it so disquieting that we pass up a major opportunity for the essential advantage of coming up short
(yes, advantage): the opportunity to get over our inner selves and return with a more grounded, more
brilliant approach. As per Adapt, achievement comes through quickly settling our mix ups as opposed
to getting things right first time. To demonstrate his point, Harford refers to convincing cases
development by experimentation from visionaries as shifted as choreographer Twyla Tharp and US
Forces Commander David Petraeus. I talked with Harford over email to delve further into the
nonsensical lessons of Adapt. What takes after is a progression of key takeaways on the brain science
of disappointment and adjustment, consolidating bits of knowledge from our discussion and the book
itself. The Wrong Way To React To Failure With regards to coming up short, our self images are the
cause all our own problems. When things begin turning out badly, our

Essay about The Life and Accomplishments of William...
Abstract William Edwards Deming was known to many as one of the Great Quality Pioneers. He was
born in Sioux City, Iowa and eventually became a statician. He attended school in a one room school
house where he got his education early. He studied with Walter Shewhart for many years and used his
theory of statistical control as the basis of his own work. He eventually went off to college and ended
up with his Doctorate degree. He made an impact on Japan helping them to get their economy back
together after WWII. After working in Japan he came back to the United States and was professor at
many different colleges. His big break in the United States was when he did an interview on NBC
showing the progress that he had made in Japan. After ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After he received his bachelor s degree he stayed at the University of Wyoming where he became an
instructor in engineering and still studied math. Deming received his master s degree in 1924 at the
University of Colorado at Boulder to become a physics teacher there. He later attended Yale to finish
with his doctorate and worked at Western Electric where he learned of Walter Shewharts theory of
quality control. After studying with Shewhart for several years Deming used his theory of statistical
control as the basis of his own work. (Wikipedia). Deming was able to help the United States Bureau
of the Census in it first sampling experiment. Then during WWII the techniques that he used for
wartime production faded away and he ended up working in Japan after they lost the war to help
rebuild their economy. While working with Japanese scientists and engineers Deming helped their
production to pick up and revenues started rising and the word spread about his principles of quality
control. Deming s 14 points for management originally started with top management. But in order to
have a successful organization Deming thought that it must be taught throughout. The fourteen key
principles for management for transforming business effectively are: 1. Create consistency of purpose
for the improvement of product and service, with the aim to become completive, stay in business, and

Age Of Reason
Throughout the years, there has been different changes to our country. From the Age of Reason to
today there were different beliefs and ways of thinking. These two time periods have differences and
similarities in their values. At the very beginning, to when our country started, took a lot of courage.,
Tto go from one country and start a whole new one took a lot of time and work. The Age of Reason
was an eighteenth century movement. It represented a genesis in the way man viewed himself, the
pursuit of knowledge, and the universe. To go away from one country and start a whole new one takes
a great amount of courage. New ideas filled the horizon and people were eager to explore these ideas,

Medical Clinic Forecasting
A good forecast should be consistent with other parts of the business, should consider any past data
available, and should take into consideration any potential changes in the economic and political
policies (example affordable care act, etc.). There are many forecasting techniques available and the
challenge is to pick one that fits the best for one s business model. Such techniques include expert
opinion, market research, economic indicators, projections, econometric models, and so on. I think the
projection model would be a great aid in running a medical practice. A projection model is a form of
naïve model that projects trends. Among the projections, there are compound growth rate and time
series techniques. Among such techniques, I think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Trend is the direction of movement of data over a relatively long period. In a medical practice, such
trends would include the increase in the number of population that would require medical care in the
future, the number of people that would be medically insured over time, and also the trend in the
neighborhood where the clinic is located. According to the US Census Bureau, the number of
Americans over age 84 is projected to more than triple between 2010 and 2050. Hence, it is clear that
there will be an increase in demand to care for the elderly population with Medicaid plans. Medicaid
plans experienced an initial bump of 10.8 million new enrollees in 2014 because of the healthcare
reform law. But future growth among those newly eligible members in the 28 states that have
approved expansion won t be as large, some experts say (Sandler, 2015). This data of Medicaid plans
shows an uncertainty as even though there is an increase in demand right now, but according to some
experts this might not increase at a constant pace over time. Even in a market oriented society like
ours, government intervention in healthcare has been huge. Government actions play an important role
and impact on healthcare sector and it is obvious that such impacts also affect the competitors. If we
look at the health insurance as a whole instead of just Medicaid plans, we see that the number of
insured will grow over time

The cost of living is a little below the national average, perhaps pushed up a bit by the high home
prices and monthly rent. Homes sell for more than $230,000 in Venice on average and monthly rent in
this city is close to $1,000.
Just because Venice is more of a retirement community doesn t mean it is boring. Venice is also a
hotspot for scuba divers for the abundance of shark s teeth, seashells and fish that can be found in
Venice s waters. Every year, Venice even has a Shark s Tooth Festival in celebration. The city also has
some history in entertainment as well, as it was once the winter home for Ringling Brothers Barnum
and Bailey, as well as the location of their Clown College.
These days Venice is a bit calmer, choosing to cater a bit more to its residents than its tourists. The city
has a community theater, tennis courts, boat ramps, basketball courts, walking trails, biking trails,
canoe and kayak launches and, of course, beautiful beaches. The city does have a few events here and
there as well, including a weekly farmer s market, a craft festival and holiday events throughout the

Controlled Fire During The Paleolithic Period
Controlled Fire in the Paleolithic Period (2.6 million B.C. 10,000 B.C.)
The origins of controlled fire go back to the Paleolithic Period, by early humans some of the evidence
takes us all the way back to East Africa. The use of controlled fire was a big and important
development for these early humans, this tool could be handled in so many ways not only provided
them food but also shelter, and protection.
The development of controlled fire meant that food could be haunted and cooked immediately so meat
wouldn t rot. Because there were many hominids scared across the world controlled fire allowed them
to defrost frozen meat in cold regions, this provided a more sterilized as well as nutritious diet. It
could not only be used for meats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clothing was part of these new developments, prehistoric clothing consisted of fur, grass, leaves and
leather that were wrapped or tied to the body in order to protect from elements of the time.
Archeologist have seen objects like handmade needles that were used to sew these clothing s in order
to create different items to keep them warm and dry. A main disadvantage of most prehistoric clothing
was that the materials would deteriorate quite fast, later on the next generation of humans found
themselves creating more durable and wearable pieces of clothing. Neanderthals faced harsh climates
there were parts of Northern Asia and Europe that had series of Ice ages, because of this man had to
step up and create something to keep their body heat. With the creation of tools in order to hunt they
found themselves hunting deer, mammoths and bears which provided large, thick and furry coats for
them. At first their clothing tended to be simple by making holes in the head and arm area letting them
drape all over their bodies. Later on it can be seen that they grew more and more sophisticated by
creating strips to wrap their clothing in place sort of like belts.
After Neanderthals there came the invention of the tunics by the Cro Magnon people they mainly
consisted of skin from a given animal and it

Literary Commentary In All The Pretty Horses
Literary commentary essay In the excerpt on pages 147 151 of All the pretty horses Cormac McCarthy
shows through various literary techniques such as imagery and diction. As well as his use of language
and the structure of the passage to show how the horses are such a big part of the story, how they are
not just a way of transportation for John Grady Cole and Rawlins, they are almost everything to them.
From friends to their life s passion these horses are what really drives them and neither of them would
be the same without them. Throughout this passage there are multiple effects that come from Cormac
McCarthy s choices of literary techniques and structure of the passage. They all mainly focus on the
horses and their impact with John Grady and Rawlins. Throughout the passage Cormac McCarthy
shows that the horses are a connection to the things that John Grady and Rawlins love, you never
really see them upset when they are with horses. McCarthy displays this on pg 147 when it says They
rode hard hazing the wild manadas out of the high valleys and they camped at their old site on the
south slope of the Anteojos where they camped with Luis. This is something that both Rawlins and
John Grady love doing and it is closely tied to the horses. McCarthy most likely does this to symbolize
how important the horses are to them and also how the horses are not just a mere mode of
transportation, they are their passion and what they love doing. You can tell that both have formed

Correlation Between Gang And Gang Delinquency
Introduction When potential gang members become exposed to certain life situations they have a
higher risk of joining a gang. When someone joins a gang they become susceptible to partaking in
actions that they would not normally do. This paper will give some idea of what a gang is and describe
some factors that can motivate a person to get involved with a gang. It will also explain the problem
associated with an increase of gang member activity that result of a higher gang homicide. The data
will show that the estimated number of gangs was at a high, then that number trended downward.
Finally the number has risen to the present and has steadily plateaued at the high. In this report I will
explain the relative correlation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Part of the problem is that in the large major cities youngsters who are suffering from boredom,
despair, and poverty can easily be enticed into the idea of being part of a gang. With these ideas of
involvement, it is increasing the gang membership in larger cities. Studies have shown an increase in
gang involvement since 2003 but now is stabilizing. This is a growing problem because if we do not
increase activities such as prevention groups or getting the police involved in community programs in
cities encouraging youth participation it could begin to rise again over a few more years. Police need
to not be just a figure in a uniform, but get involved and let youth and adults know that the figure in
the uniform is a person who cares about them and the community.
What is a gang and what do they do?
There are many definitions for what a gang is. According to The National Gang Center website, one
definition of a gang is a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate closely, often exclusively,
for social reasons, especially a group engaging in delinquent behavior such as a gang of thieves. Some
factors that make a gang a gang are that the group has three or more members, generally aged 12 24,
the members share an identity, typically linked to a name, and often other symbols. The members view
themselves as a gang, and they are recognized by others as a gang. The group has some permanence
and a degree of organization and the group is involved in an elevated level

Examples Of Beauty In Dancer From The Dance
In the novel Dancer from the Dance the author uses beauty and aesthetics in many different ways. The
author uses beauty and aesthetics in ways such as, the night life in the city, the relationships between
the characters in Dancer from the Dance, the clothing that the character s wear, and the way each
character looks. The characters in Dancer from the Dance feel like themselves when they are able to
dress, act, and go places where they won t be judged by others. The author shows the reader that
during the day the characters have to hide who they really are so that they won t be judged by society,
but at night the characters are free to do what they want and won t be judged for it because they will
be with others like themselves. The characters do the things that they do because that is who they are,
and there is beauty in those things.
The characters in Dancer from the Dance dress in normal clothing during the day so that they can fit
into society. One of the main characters in the novel is Andrew Sutherland. Andrew Sutherland dresses
as a drag queen at night when he goes out to gay bars at night. He dresses as drag queen because that
makes him feel like himself. For some gay males, clothing is a semiotic
marker for identity creation. (Schofield). Sutherland is a man that has money and a sense for fashion.
Since he has the money to buy nice expensive clothes, he does. Because of their spending power, gay
consumers have been found to be more brand and fashion conscious

The Pros And Cons Of Attending A Post High School

Let s imagine a man named Steve. Steve is twenty three years old, working at a fast food place. He s

College isn t free. There is free money out there, but it can be tough to get. The Government does give
out Grants to low income students, but that requires the filling out of an online application and
everything has to be just right in order for someone to receive a decent amount of money. If one
manages to receive a grant, most of the time the money one receives isn t enough to pay for the entire
fees/tuition.
Yes, there are a lot of scholarships out there, but if one doesn t have the right ACT score, the best
Grade Point Average, or excellent writing skills, chances are one isn t going to be selected to receive
that scholarship money.
If all else fails, there s still loans, but they aren t a good option. Most student loans do come with low
interest rates and don t have to be payed back as long as the person stays in school, but because of this,
it is easy to be convinced that loans are acceptable. An average college graduate leaves school with
about 25,000 dollars in student loan debt that they have to start paying off a few months after
graduation. A college degree doesn t equal a good job. One may not realize that the chosen major won
t lead to a successful life. Most college students change their major seven times while they re in
school, costing them valuable time and

Tacit Agenda Of A Literary Approach To The Bible
Bible can be approached not only historically or generically but also literarily and this article, The
Tacit Agenda of a Literary Approach to the Bible, focuses on Leithwort which is repeated word that
helps to see Bible literarily. Buber and Rosenzweig think that Bible is more than just a Biblical text,
but it is more beautiful and well crafted literature and they also view the bible philosophically and
looked for deeper meaning. Rosenzwig claims that author s meaning could be interpreted differently
to the readers as one word has multiple meanings. Also, there is word called Leithwort. Leithwort is
the one of the way that Bible uses as a literature method of expressing the idea. Leithwort means
repeating same rooted word and by saying same rooted word over and over again it holds a powerful
meaning. Therefore, Burber says that it is important to understand and interpret properly Leithwort for
readers so that they could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leithwort is very powerful tool that author could show authorial intent to the readers but how the text
posses Leithwort is not clearly stated. Author uses Midrash, Jewish traditional reference, to find out
the meaning in the Leithwort and hidden meaning. Midrash is the fundamental raw material that
author uses to translate Bible and support their opinion. This article focuses on the Leithwort and says
how important Leithwort is. As mentioned above, Leithwort is repeating same rooted word over again
in the text and emphasize its importance of the repeated words and also convey author s intent to the
readers by using this method. However, in some culture, such as Korea, Leithwort would not be the
way of showing author s importance meaning or emphasizing what author wants to express to the
readers. Even it is obviously repeating same words, it does not give special meaning in some cultures.
Since the word is repeated people may think logically it could be

  • 2. The Passionate Shepherd Marlowe s The Passionate Shepherd to His Love, and Raleigh s The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd, are both amazing poems that we can t help but want to compare and contrast. The sassy Nymph who turns away the Shepherd s declare of love. The Shepherd, who offers material objects to show his love, and the Nymph, the fair maiden who denies his feelings; the tales of unrequited love. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love portrays a world of love and feelings. The Shepherd offers wondrous gifts to his love in hopes that he will capture her heart. Marlowe used soft imagery, making the poem feel lovely and sweet. The Shepherd is seen as a man with a good heart and appears to have good intentions. The Shepherd offers a bed of roses, and a gown of the finest wool. And we will sit upon the rocks, seeing the shepherds feed their flocks, by shallow rivers to whose falls melodious birds sing madrigals. In this quote, he offers her a lovely day of peace and love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Shepherd s gifts, forgotten and unwanted, for they are material items that can wither. The Nymph accuses the Shepherd for lying, saying that he holds no truth to his words. The time passes, and it as if she says that she doesn t want to waste her love and time on someone who promises empty words. The imagery in this poem is much darker, making the happy imagery from The Passionate Shepherd to His Love rough and cold. An example of the Nymph changing the imagery is, Time drives the flocks from field to fold when rivers rage and rocks grow cold, and Philomel becometh dumb; The rest complains of cares to ... The Text of the Gettysburg Address Soon after Everett s overall appropriated comments, Lincoln gave his address that lasted only a couple of minutes. In this short time, he used ten sentences to aptly summarize the war and the way ahead for the United States. The five known composition copies of the Gettysburg Address are named for the individuals who obtained it from Lincoln. Lincoln provides a copy to his private secretaries, John Hay and John Nicolay. Both of the aforementioned copies were composed around the time of his November 19 address, while the other three duplicates of the speech, the Bliss, Bancroft, and Everett duplicates, and were composed by President Lincoln for philanthropic purposes. These copies were sent well later to November 19, the actual date of the famous address. Since then these copies have ended up being the standard content of Lincoln s Gettysburg Address (LoC, 2012). • 6. Abraham Promises The Bible teaches that God s longing to redeem the world has always been His desire, but sinful man has refused God s grace. The appeal to man to turn from his selfish ways dates back to the Old Testament and is clearly displayed in the actions God puts into place with Abraham and the formation of the nation of Israel. These activities are evident in Abraham and the nation of Israel through promises made, examples to show His glory, and Israel s comparison to the Church today. Promises Made In Genesis, God promised blessings to Abraham that would carry to his descendants (Gen. 12:2 3 [NASB]).1 Through these blessings, one man and his family would benefit the whole world and begin a process of ingathering from the darkness and disintegration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As part of those activities, the Scripture clearly indicates His desire to declare Himself to all nations, tongues, and tribes. Walter Kaiser explains that the Old Testament unfolds a plan (Gen. 12:3), a purpose (Ps. 67:1 7) and the need for participation (Exod. 19:4 6) by the nation of Israel.11 There are three significant areas that serve as evidence of God s intentions. They are the use of the Israelites to reach the world as a proclamation, Abraham s specific calling to become a priestly nation, and the nation as an example. God s plan and work are directed to the entire of humanity with His desire to save all of mankind.12 However, man s struggle against God is apparent in events such as the attempt to reach heaven at Babel (Gen. 11:1 9) and the universal condemnation of wickedness, which caused the great flood (Gen. 6:5).13 Israel was designed to be a solid foundation for other nations to turn to. Verkuyl states that even the nations who oppose God will one day celebrate in restored fellowship.14 Israel will become the permanent presence of God s people acting and relating with the world. God s word even makes provision to those who choose to join the nation and accepts them as one born into the community (Exod. 12:48 49).15 While they were never to become part of the world, Isreal was to live in the world and be set aside for the purposes of ... Cheerleading has gone from cheering on sports to All Star cheer, competing. Many people have said cheer isn t a sport, but there are rules and requirements that make cheer a sport just like football or soccer. Cheer was founded by Johnny Campbell, he lead the first cheers on November, 1898 at the Minnesota University American football game. Campbell helped the crowd cheer for their team and helped their team to wins by cheering and encouraging. Cheerleaders have been required to lift up and throw people in the air, along with tumbling, jumps, and dance. These require the strength of football, grace of dance, and agility of gymnastics. Winfield Scott, the man sitting aboard an elegant game cock (left), tips his hat as he slowly pulls ahead of Pierce. Pierce (right), on the other hand, is about to fall off his mount, a goose. Reincarnation is the center of the Faith, the teaching that all things become unified through living many lives. Lying, cheating scumbags, who were greedy and did not assist the poor could be reincarnated upon death into a life of poverty and illness. With a little hope, such a soul would learn a valuable lesson and the next time around would be a bit more comfortable. Some Hindus also believe that a human can be reincarnated as an animal. Deciding what she wants to do for the rest of her life is very stressful. Emily mentioned that she worked with the second grade class at church and always enjoyed her time with this age group. She wonders if this interest might be something she should pursue. As Emily s academic advisor, I suggested some helpful steps she should take that would assist her in making these important decisions. Assessments One of the first steps in helping a student who is undecided about their degree is to suggest useful assessments. Career and personality assessments are beneficial in several ways. They can help provide insight into personality traits, skills, and interests of a student. The results in turn can help students make connections between these traits and careers that they are well suited for. There are two tools in particular that I find beneficial. In 1585, Sir Walter Raleigh launched a colonization expedition to Roanoke island that failed. But when Sir Francis Drake arrived in 1586 the colonists wanted to go home. The lack of supply ships made them eventually abandon the colony with only one clue to where they went, a word carved into a tree, Croatoan . On May 31, 1607, about 100 men and boys left England for what is now Maine. Approximately three months later, the group landed on a wooded peninsula where the Kennebec River meets the Atlantic Ocean and began building Fort St. George. By the end of the year, due to limited resources, half of the colonists returned to England. Late the next year, the remaining 45 sailed home, and the Plymouth company fell dormant. • 12. Summary Of Babe Ruth With the way the author, Bryson describes George Ruth s upbringing and the tough hand that Babe was dealt with at such an early age, it seems as if he painted a fairy tale with happily ever after at the end. To read and to try and grasp what Babe Ruth was able to achieve, it is the most unbelievable underdog story that I have ever read. While I was reading, I had the feeling that Bill Bryson believed that George Ruth was a good person and even coming from such a rough city such as Baltimore. He even disagreed with what babe said in his autobiography. In the book, Bryson says The opening sentence of Ruth s autobiography is, I was a bad kid. Which is no more than partly true (Bryson 107). By just the second sentence in the second paragraph, it is clear that Bryson thought, even since Ruth s childhood, he is a good kid who was stuck behind the 8 ball. Coming from an impoverished family, having almost all of his siblings die, losing both his father and mother who were distracted anyway. His mother slowly dying of tuberculosis and his father single handedly running their saloon during all of his waking hours just so they could have money to survive (Bryson 107). While reading this initial background on Babe Ruth, I didn t know just how rough he had it. I assumed like most of the athletes in today s world, his family was able to pay for him to have baseball lessons and training with some of the best trainers that money can buy. After a few days of torture, a person s urine becomes darker than usual and then jaundice, (a yellowish discoloration of the skin) appears. Jaundice and the dark urine indicate that liver is not functioning properly in removing a reddish yellow pigment called bilirubin from the blood. • 18. Organic Compounds Organic Compounds CH3CH2 O CH2CH2CH2CH3 This chemical is known as butyl ethyl ether. It is a type of ether that is a colorless liquid and falls within the R O R functional group (Chemical Book, 2012). The compound is extremely flammable, and as such, fire and other safety professionals must take great care when handling chemical fires burning with the substance. The research shows that the compound will be easily ignited by heat, sparks or flame, but also that vapors may form explosive mixtures with air. Vapors may travel to source of ignition and flash back (Chemical Book, 2012). This makes the vapor from this organic compound incredibly dangerous in terms of fire risk in doors, but can also cause problems outdoors as well. Fire and safety officials must be careful in enclosed areas. Often, this flash will spread throughout lower lying areas, such as basements and sewers. Moreover, it is incompatible with oxidizing agents, making it unsafe to try to extinguish chemical fires of this nature with water (Chemical Book, 2012). With the restructuring and bankruptcy of Chrysler and General Motors, and the ongoing recession in the auto sector, employment in the nation s automotive manufacturing industry will most likely shrink in 2009 and 2010 as additional assembly, powertrain, and auto parts plants close. Economically the automobile industry is an oligopoly. This is why the Big 3 remains the Big 3. The nature of building cars makes it difficult for small players to enter the market. The cost of entry is high. As an oligopoly, the Big 3 also tend to pay more attention to one another than to customers or competitors. If GM adds airbags, Chrysler and Ford add airbags. That includes bad cars. But during recessions, automakers lose billions of dollars just maintaining operations. This is basically due to the high fixed costs. Literary Commentary In All The Pretty Horses Literary commentary essay In the excerpt on pages 147 151 of All the pretty horses Cormac McCarthy shows through various literary techniques such as imagery and diction. As well as his use of language and the structure of the passage to show how the horses are such a big part of the story, how they are not just a way of transportation for John Grady Cole and Rawlins, they are almost everything to them. From friends to their life s passion these horses are what really drives them and neither of them would be the same without them. Throughout this passage there are multiple effects that come from Cormac McCarthy s choices of literary techniques and structure of the passage. They all mainly focus on the horses and their impact with John Grady and Rawlins. Throughout the passage Cormac McCarthy shows that the horses are a connection to the things that John Grady and Rawlins love, you never really see them upset when they are with horses. McCarthy displays this on pg 147 when it says They rode hard hazing the wild manadas out of the high valleys and they camped at their old site on the south slope of the Anteojos where they camped with Luis. This is something that both Rawlins and John Grady love doing and it is closely tied to the horses. Part of the problem is that in the large major cities youngsters who are suffering from boredom, despair, and poverty can easily be enticed into the idea of being part of a gang. With these ideas of involvement, it is increasing the gang membership in larger cities. Studies have shown an increase in gang involvement since 2003 but now is stabilizing. This is a growing problem because if we do not increase activities such as prevention groups or getting the police involved in community programs in cities encouraging youth participation it could begin to rise again over a few more years. Police need to not be just a figure in a uniform, but get involved and let youth and adults know that the figure in the uniform is a person who cares about them and the community. What is a gang and what do they do? There are many definitions for what a gang is. According to The National Gang Center website, one definition of a gang is a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate closely, often exclusively, for social reasons, especially a group engaging in delinquent behavior such as a gang of thieves.
