The Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Teens
It takes a village to raise a child, or at least it was once believed to. It seems each year parents are
getting younger in age, and the birth rate is rising higher. Mississippi has the highest birth rates in teen
pregnancy, and has held this title for the past few years. This problem has had such a rise to fame
because this is a problem that can be prevented. Parents and communities should take action to help
lower the teen pregnancy birth rate in Mississippi. Since the birth rate in teens is so high that means
there is more need of government assistance. This becomes such a problem in states because with
more government assistance come more money, and in states like Mississippi, who is ranked as one of
the poorest states in America, this falls back on everyone. Even though the birth rate has gotten out of
control, teen pregnancy is 100% preventable. With the right knowledge and explanations this problem
could be incredibly reduced. Teen pregnancy becomes an even larger problem because not only does it
affect the families involved, but it affects the economy. According to Newswire PR, Mississippi has
seen a 36% decline in the teen birth rate between 1991 and 2010. (PR). Also it has been said that teen
pregnancy could also cause higher rates with incarceration and child welfare, which are the main
concerns from the government (PR). For the past few years many have tried to come up with solutions
for teen pregnancy rates. One that comes across the board for years is

Report Of A Portion Of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc. ( Lactalis )
INTRODUCTION
This memorandum presents the findings of a review of a portion of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc. (Lactalis) s
waste stream that may potentially be sent offsite for disposal during a temporary shutdown of the
cheese production facility s whey dryer. This memo is intended to identify environmental risks
associated with the hauling and disposal of sweet whey offsite.
BACKGROUND
Lactalis operates a whey dryer to manufacture dried whey protein from the by product (i.e. sweet
whey) generated from the cheese production process. Lactalis is planning to remove the whey dryer
from service for a period of up to six (6) months to accomplish repairs to the system, and is
considering disposal options for the whey during this downtime period.
Lactalis local counsel, Givens Pursley, LLP (Givens Pursley) intends to identify regulatory and
environmental risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey dryer. Givens
Pursley will identify the regulatory risk, determine if there is a legal liability and see if there is
capacity for the whey to be absorbed by local facilities.
Forsgren Associates (Forsgren) conducted an analysis of the sweet whey to identify environmental
risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey facility.
SWEET WHEY WASTE STREAM ANALYSIS
Whey is a by product of the cheese making process which represents 90% of the volume and 50% of
the solids of milk used in the manufacture of cheese. It is a very dilute

Essay on The Black Balloon Movie Review
Would you be able to cope? That is the unspoken challenge laid down by The Black Balloon, a
harrowing, unsentimental portrait of a middle class Australian family whose oldest son has severe
autism compounded by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Would you find in yourself the
seemingly infinite reserves of love and patience possessed by the Mollisons, the movie s itinerant,
highly stressed army family who have just moved to the suburbs of Sydney? Maybe not. The Black
Balloon, directed by Elissa Down, was inspired by her experiences growing up in a household with
two autistic brothers, the younger of whom served as the model for Charlie (Luke Ford), a mute who
communicates in sign language and heaving, wheezing grunts. When ... Show more content on

No sooner has she left than Charlie begins wreaking havoc. The scenes of Charlie running amok are
agonizing. One afternoon he flees in his underwear and, with Thomas in frantic pursuit, dashes
through the neighbourhood and into a strange house to use the bathroom. In a supermarket checkout
line he flops onto the floor and begins bellowing when Simon asks him to return some items to the
shelves; eventually he has to be dragged out of the store screaming. At one point an angry neighbour
summons child services to the Mollisons home. In the most repellent scene, Charlie is discovered in
his room smearing his poo on the carpet and over his body. Thomas is expected to clean up the mess.
His growing sense of being trapped by his brother s disability is evoked in moments when he
anxiously listens to Charlie s noises and to the squall of the newborn through the door of his room.
The blooming puppy love between Thomas and Jackie lends The Black Balloon a welcome strain of
tenderness. Mr. Wakefield and Ms. Ward project the innocence of shy, sensitive young people for
whom a tentative shared kiss is a very big deal. But Ms. Collette s Maggie is the film s prime mover.
This wonderful Australian actress, who hasn t a shred of vanity, virtually disappears into the
complicated characters she plays, and Maggie is one of the strongest. With every forceful gesture and

Chinese Immigrant Experience
The second group of the new immigrants are the working adults, and they can differ from the legally
leaving China and illegally leaving China. The ones that are legally leaving China that comes to the
U.S. most of the time are looking for a better job opportunity. Just like universities in China, job
opportunities in China is also very limited and competitive. Thousands of people might be fighting
over a single good job title. Because of this, it is very hard to land a decent job. Even the people that
gets a job, because of how competitive it is people often faces harsh working environment, long
working hours, and minimum pay. Dean Irvine quoted in a CNN article May 8, 2013 According to a

Being a global citizen one must accept all those who are different from us, culture that sounds strange

ASU are extremely diverse. There are people from India, South America, middle east, and many more
places. We are all here gathered and involved in the same college society. Like it or not, it forces you

misunderstanding and not communicating. It is very important for students and working classes of

Professional, Ethical, and Legal Issues in Human Services
Michal Cash
BSHS332/Professional, Ethical, and Legal Issues in Human Services
Introduction Every day people are faced with dilemmas within their work place. Some of those
dilemmas are minor while others are major and go against the ethics that people have. Some of them
not only go against one s personal ethics, but work ethics as well. Some are able to look past these
dilemmas and continue on while others can t and feel the needs to confront the person or person s that
are involved. One has to remember that their values maybe different than others and that is more so
true within the work place than anywhere else s. The work place is full off different people from
different back grounds and all of these people are put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She does not feel comfortable going and confronting the teacher, but the principle will not do anything
to help her in the dilemma she is in. The teacher s assistant tells herself that she has done what she is
supposed to do and that got her nowhere. From now on if any situation arises like this one she will not
go to the principle, but to the administration over the principle because she know believes that even if
she goes to the principle she will not do anything to the teacher.
Conclusion
The biggest dilemma that we as humans face in the work place is what we as individuals see as
personal values may not be the same values that everyone else holds. We are each our own individual
and we have all been raised in different cultures with different values. We all come together within the
work place to not just do a job, but to try and work together with people that are different from
ourselves. When we find ourselves in a dilemma that goes against our ethics, one has to ask
themselves, how does this affect my values, and does it affect our values so much that we need to
report it to a higher authority . Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all
(Quotes About Ethics, 2012). If one see something that goes against their personal values and does
nothing about it than they need to reevaluate their values. If it is something important to them, than
they will do everything within their power to stop whatever they see is wrong.

Tips For A Sized Stroller System That Has All The Bells...
When you have a baby, you need to have stroller, if you are ever going to leave leave your house. Of
course, you will likely want to have a full sized stroller system that has all the bells and whistles.
Many of them are like baby Cadillacs. However, full sized strollers have some major liabilities. They
are heavy. In fact, they are often so heavy that it is impossible to get them into the car, so you can push
your baby around when you get to your final destination. If you are lucky enough to win the struggle
of getting the stroller in and out of your vehicle, the next task is setting it up. That can often be a
difficult task as well. If can be enough to convince any parent to not bother with the struggle and just
stay home. Lightweight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following are some of the factors to look at during your search for a new lightweight stroller. Type
There are two types of lightweight strollers, so your first consideration should be which one of these
two will best fit your needs. The most common type of lightweight stroller is the umbrella stroller.
This type of stroller is typically the one parents envision when they consider a second stroller that is
compact enough to take on the go. This type of stroller is generally basic and does not include any
extras that are common on full sized strollers. The other type of lightweight stroller is a bit bigger than
an umbrella stroller but not as big as a standard stroller. This type of lightweight stroller generally is
more comfortable and has a few conveniences such as under seat storage and larger sunshades. Budget
As with most items you buy, price is always a consideration. Lightweight strollers have a wide price
range, depending on the features you are looking for. It is not hard to find a lightweight stroller to fit
any budget, and it is equally as easy to find one that will break your bank account. So, it is a good idea
to set your budget before you start looking for a stroller so you can easily eliminate some choices right
off the bat. Durability Just as lightweight strollers come in a variety of price ranges, they also vary in
their durability. Before you purchase a

Going To A Magnet School
I remember back in fifth grade when we were taught almost every day to say no to peer pressure. The
idea of saying no seemed liked the easiest thing to accomplish back then, but as I grew older, I
realized nothing is as easy as it seems. I was at that age where life changing decisions were to be
made. It was that time of the year when students in 8th grade pondered upon themselves deciding on
different high schools to spend four years in.
I d like to describe myself as a very simple person. So going to a normal high school, that s close to
my house with almost half of the people from middle school sounded like the best decision ever. It
was however, deemed as a bogus decision to everyone around me. That s when this horrific peer
pressure incident happened. When I told my friends and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

consisted mostly of my parents and brother trying to convince me to go to a magnet school out of fear
that I might fall victim to drugs and violence at a normal high school. When it came to peer pressure,
all I had to say was no and leave, right? Let me just say that it is by far the hardest thing to say
especially when you have a pack of desperate people trying to play tug of war with you. After a while,
I gave in to their ridiculous reasoning s not because I was sick of their constant nagging, but because I

Folsom Powerhouse Accomplishments
Perched high above the shore of Lake Natoma, Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park displays the
work of men who were critical to the creation of electric power systems in use today. The
Powerhouse, with its original 1895 equipment, illustrates how power systems were constructed in the
late 19th century. It is the work of a General Electric (GE) Corporation team of many brilliant
individuals whose contributions were not always recognized in their lifetimes. Many attempts have
been made to describe the significance and stunning accomplishments of the Folsom Powerhouse. The
word first is commonly used. This claim is sometimes incorrectly applied and does not do justice to

In 1884, Judge Lorenzo Sawyer s ruling against the North Bloomfield Mining and Gravel Company
(for the full story, see Malakoff Diggings) ended hydraulic mining and created a base of unemployed
workers with journeyman skills in hydro engineering. Their experience with penstocks and monitor
nozzles was invaluable, and they were eager for work. As mine shafts replaced hydraulic mining, a
power source was needed to operate water pumps, air pumps, stamp mills, lighting, and other
machinery. Steam power plants required boilers, piping, the ongoing costs of coal or wood fuel, and a
significant workforce to run the operation. Even with the cost of building dams, hydroelectricity was a
less expensive option. One of the first recorded uses of hydroelectric power for mining in California
was the 1889 DC powerhouse for the Dalmatia mine in El Dorado County. Mine owners whose
facilities were distant from a water source were eager to try the new AC technology. Those that did

Ephesians
There s lots of times in our lives where we feel powerless. Maybe its tax season, the direction of the
country, control over our children or even our own lives. Yet God has promised Christians a life that
goes far beyond our fears of inadequacy. In Ephesians, Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus: Now to
Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power
that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations
forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20 21). This phrase: more abundantly beyond (NASB) is
translated various ways. Sometimes its translated as immeasurably more (NIV), or accomplish
abundantly far more (NRSV). Interestingly, far more abundantly and beyond are words from the same

Paul s is basically repeating himself here as if saying: abundantly, abundantly. The motto of the
country of Spain is: Further Beyond. I wonder if they came up with this sailing to the New WOrld.
Indeed, we can learn a lot about God s plans fro us in the Bible, but God has so much more in store for
us than we can even comprehend or read about. Concerning everything we could ask we can ask for
quite a bit! We sometimes pray: Lord, I want a million dollars, and a brand new car. Well, that s not
exactly what God is teaching here. How about opportunities to reach the lost? Prayers for patience?
Prayers for wisdom? We can think quite a few things as well: Can God really help me through this
temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)? Is God going to be there for me through the hard times (Psalm 23)?
Will He provided for my needs (Matthew 6:31 33)? Finally, the verse in Ephesians says: according to
the power that works within us. Its kind of scary to think of God working in us. We have a boss in
Heaven, and He expects us to work for Him. Yet He s the best and He ll help us go far beyond

He is an individual who fades in the light of the general.
The setting of the story is in a war torn part of Dublin where the sniper is perched on a rooftop. He
aims at and kills two people stealthily of which one is shot merely because she might have been an
informer . Doing this, the sniper is himself wounded and has to attempt an escape from his position.
To do this, he must kill a rebel sniper on the opposite roof. He does this with great ingenuity first
faking his own death and then shooting the sniper in cold blood. This death however, is highlighted by
a depiction in slow motion as the rebel falls into an empty bullet torn street. Witnessing this gruesome
death, a contrasting remorseful feeling fills the sniper s mind as the
lust for battle dies in him. As he prepares to leave, emotions make him curious to know the identity of
his victim. After risking his life in this act, he sees that he has shot his own brother. Beginning as
twilight faded into night, the action of the story instantly becomes more dangerous. The course and
characters of this story are not unique to this one situation but are an index to all violence everywhere.
When the Republican sniper finds out that his victim was his own brother, he learns how cruel war is.

A tidal salt marsh is a community of plants and animals that thrive in wet saline conditions (ADBC,
2010), which rely on the tides to bring nutrients, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorous. As the
tide leaves the wetlands, pools are exposed which shorebirds can feed on larvae without competition
from fish that was impossible during the time period of water diversion and dam construction. The
land became baron; an area of waste land, until 1967, when the water originally diverted for irrigation
of fields, was redirected to the lowland area. In 2006, a tidal inlet was successfully opened after 107
years, allowing the tide to flow to various parts of the wetlands which had previously been closed off
(ADBC, 2010).
During the process of Bolsa Chica environmental change, much has been learned about ecosystem
destruction and restoration. Wetland areas are as Wright states among the most productive ecosystems
on earth, rich in breeding grounds for many species of fish, shellfish, and waterfowl (2008).
Interfering with the natural biogeochemical cycles can have devastating effects, completely wiping out
ecosystems. Lessons learned are valuable for other restoration projects, many of which are in progress

community, lack of tidal rhythm reduces

Hazard Communication Essay
According to OSHA website, in 1970, Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Act to
assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing
standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. This act created the

The Purpose Of The Athenian Army
Part 3
1) The Athenian Army
The purpose of the Athenian army was to was to secure Athenian democratic society. The army fought
battles against other Greek states and foreign states most often against oligarchies and aristocracies.
The army was managed by a polemarch (senior military title), along with ten generals from the ten
tribes of Athens.
The largest component of the army was the infantry composed of hoplites (citizens fighting in a full
set of armour). They went into battle protected by a helmet, breastplate, and greaves (shin guards),
carrying a large round shield and long spear. The state would sometimes issue such equipment to
citizens who could not afford a set of their own.
The Athenian army was primarily male citizens, who were made to enlist at the beginning of the year
following their 18th birthdays. For two years, new cadets (known as ephebes) trained full time. After
training, they rejoined public life, though they were committed to the army for 40 years. At any time,
they could be called to duty to defend Athens. The people elect two athletic trainers and instructors for
them, to teach them their drill as heavy armed soldiers and to use the bow, javelin, and sling.
Richer Athenians enrolled in the cavalry, as always, a smaller elite military force made up of those
wealthy enough to own and maintain a good mount. The state would call upon an inspection and

Defense Attorneys
I feel that defense attorneys are typically viewed negatively by the general public, after all, isn t their
job to find the loopholes in a case in order to get someone accused of a heinous crime off scot free? To
be fair and honest, I have felt that way in the past. That is, however, until I began researching some of
the numerous wrongful conviction cases that are coming to light in the United States. According to the
National Registry of Exonerations, there have been 2102 exonerations in the U.S. since they began
keeping track in 1989 ( The National Registry of Exonerations Exoneration Registry, 2017). That is
over 2,100 people whose lives have been irrevocably altered by being convicted of a crime they didn t

As we saw in the video clip, defendants aren t always upfront with the fact involved in their cases.
Sometimes it can be likened to pulling teeth or herding cats, not a job for the faint of heart. When you
combine the lack of information, long hours, low pay and an overwhelming caseload, you get a career
that is equal parts rewarding and frustrating. I feel that defendants tend to have a lack of faith and trust
in their attorneys, especially those that are appointed. According to our textbook, those facing serious
charges and long jail terms tend to have less confidence in their attorneys, particularly court appointed
attorneys. It s a common rhetoric that the public defender s office is both understaffed and
overworked. But, as our textbook goes on to state, those defense attorneys that take little time they
have to develop relationships with their clients tend to garner their client s trust (Siegel, Schmalleger
Worrall, 2015). Perhaps, the accused is feeling overwhelmed by the process, or they are feeling as if
they are not being heard and by spending a little time with them the attorneys allow the defendant to
feel, at least for a little while, as if they have some control over their

Advantages Of Securitisation In Nigeria
This paper seeks to discuss securitisation as a viable, and an alternative way of raising additional
capital for business organisations. Business organisations and other corporate entities require
substantial capital to grow and expand their ventures. When the financial resources of a business entity
are stretched to the limit, equity capital is scarce and therefore expansion is stalled. Therefore, in order
to improve their financial liquidity, the shareholders may not be ready to relinquish their holdings by
issuing stocks to the public. Hence, they have resorted to innovative ways of raising additional capital
with minimal cost. Securitisation has been found to be a convenient way of raising funds by
transforming unmarketable assets/receivables into tradable securities through the instrumentality of
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). For this reason, the securitisation market has continued to grow.
Securitisation has witnessed exponential growth from a non existent industry in 1970 to $6.6 trillion
as of the second quarter of 2003. As it has been revealed in numerous instances, SPVs have been put

The Pros And Cons Of 3D Printing
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION: ARMY PRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
The Economist (2012) titled its article about 3D printing as The Third Industrial Revolution , implying
that 3D technology has a potential to do so. Will it really be happen? The answer remains to be seen,
but considering the capabilities of 3D technology, it seems absolute. When we look back to history,
wheel, steam engine, and light bulb were all breakthroughs that shaped the way societies lived. In the
21th century, 3D printing is the biggest nominee for the title of new breakthrough or game changer .
Taking into account the varieties of products that are the harvest of 3D printers, 3D printing has
already deserved that title and changed many traditional production rules. 3D printing or AM is used
not only in civilian logistics but also in military applications. Although it has some implications and
drawbacks, 3D printing provides great opportunities for humanity, if used correctly. On one hand, it
can reduce costs and help us to gain more; on the other hand it can save the lives of people who are in
need of urgent medical help.

Japan And China
Chinese and Japanese economies both make up large areas of the worlds economy; however, there are
many differences in these countries with respect to economic development and current economic state.
Analysis of Japans and Chinas economic development requires the observation of historical
components as well as current actions to stimulate economy. The history of Chinese and Japanese
economies holds many similarities and differences. Both Japan and China experienced growth in the
1400 s, driving for a more advanced societies, with improved economic policies. However, in Japan
the economic advances were more significant, especially when taking into account their trade with
European nations in the 1500 s, allowing for stimulation of their economy from more outside sources

Conversely, Japan s economic growth was not significant in the early 1900 s, due to their push
towards militarization. Once the 1930 s arrived, Japan began to invade China, at this point, both
economies were not expanding greatly, most of their resources were being put towards battle as
opposed to the trade that was necessary for their economic growth. After the second world war, Japan
and China were attempting to repair and grow, despite this, China began to experience a shift in
government which would greatly affect their economy, the end of the Chinese Civil War marked the
rise of a communist dictatorship. Japan, in the 1960 s experienced immense economic growth, with
US investing in their munitions and their lack of focus on militarization, Japan experienced 10%
average growth. The Chinese dictatorship under Mao can be partially attributed to Japanese growth,
due to the fear America held towards the spread of communism, if the United States held influence

Case Study Psycho Oncology
INTRODUCTION
Psycho oncology is the psychological response of a patient and their family to cancer of all stages of
the disease and also the psychological, behavioural and social factors that may influence the disease
process (Holland et al, 2010). Cancer is a distressing disease, the psychological effect of being
diagnosed with cancer can be significant and therefore, holistic care is essential to ensure that patients
physical and mental needs are met and to encourage adherence to ongoing management of their
condition (Holland 2001). In holistic patient care, it not only involves the physical heath but also the
emotional, psychological, social, spiritual and environmental areas of an individual s life too. In psych
oncology, all this conditions are managed together to treat the patient as a whole.

Examples Of Religion In Lord Of The Flies
Religion in Chaotic Societies Such as Brave New World and Lord of the Flies Differences dominate
the varying cultures and societies of the world. Differences appear everywhere, from cultural norms to
forms of government. Most, if not all civilizations rely on some form of religion. Whether a society
relies on a singular extraterrestrial force as a god, or many gods who exist as one, each culture relies
on religion to calm the chaotic nature of the world. The 20th century novels, Lord of the Flies by
William Golding, and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, both use the of Christ like archetypes,
upon which societies depend when they fall into chaos, in an attempt to calm the disarray of everyday
reality. Human nature naturally gravitates towards a religious figure when reality becomes
overwhelming. Selflessness and sympathy build the archetype of a Christ like figure. Christ like
figures work to aid the society, demonstrating selflessness and generosity. In Lord of the Flies, Simon
remains selfless in the face of adversity. While the other boys obsess and fight over hunting and fire,
Simon helps take care of the littluns. To the littluns, Simon acts as a Christ like figure: Simon found
for them the fruit they could not reach, pulled off the choicest from up in the foliage, passed them
back down to the endless, outstretched hands (Golding 56). Golding shows how Christ like figures
demonstrate selflessness to others, providing the best for other people rather than for

Walk-In Clinic Case Summary
Facts:
UHS offers medical care to Harvard University students, staff, faculty and their dependents and is a
prepaid system for 90% of the potential users. UHS has annual budget of $10m of which Walk In
clinic accounts for 20% share. The clinic had 12 treatment rooms with 37,400 patients visiting
annually at an average of 143 patients per day. The Walk In clinic had 150 physician hours available
per week and was staffed by 2 registered nurses, 11 nurse practitioners and 22 physicians. Approx.
45% of nurse practitioner hours were available for walk in. Physicians spent approx. 12/40 hours a
week in Walk In clinic.
Situation:
Dissatisfaction with the Walk In Clinic is widespread because of waiting time between sign in and
treatment. Patients also found UHS cold, inefficient, and impersonal.
UHS was dealing with two major problems:
How to reduce the waiting time for patients without affecting the quality of service? Also, should they
expand the 13 Nurse Practitioner guidelines and further define roles of Nurse Practitioner and

The current strategy of that time for Sealed Air Corporation was customer orientation and they had
manufactured products according to the needs of the customers regarding packaging. So they
manufactured a number of products including InstaPak foam in place systems. Later on due to the
continuing drop in demand for coated products the company needed to change their strategy and
Hauser proposed to produce low cost uncoated bubbles in a short time with no major capital
investments. Hauser was himself unclear about the marketing plan for the new product because the
launch of new products and the new marketing program would increase the cost to the company and
so the company would be needed to make certain adjustments in its overall policies.

The market of the protective packaging products was divided into two major classes, uncoated bubbles
and coated bubbles. Thus different types of packaging products were Positioning, Blocking, Bracing,
Flexible wraps and Void fill (uncoated bubbles) and AirCap (Coated Bubbles). In this regard the
competitive structure of the market for uncoated bubbles was high with a number of competitors
whereas in the category of coated bubbles, Sealed Air Corporation was the only producer and market
leader and so they offered this product at a premier price.
The customers of all these products were companies and organizations through select distributor

Environmental Benefits Of Green Roofs
Introduction
There are several ecological and environmental benefits of green roofs which have consequentially
brought in increasing interests in this technology. A green roof, as a carpeting of plants on the roof of
buildings, offers many benefits in addition to enhancing its aesthetic value. Primarily, green roofs have
the ability to delay the storm runoff peak occurrence, thus reducing the peak flow rate and mitigating
flood risks. Another benefit is its thermal insulation potential that reduces the urban heat island effect.
They also help with pollution abatement, carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and general
improvement of life quality in urban ecosystems (Xiaosheng et al. 2014).
Green roofs generally consist of a rather simple layering covering the rooftop, including a waterproof
layer, a water retention layer and a drainage/filter layer topped with substrate with different depths
according to both maximum load capacity of the roof and vegetation type to be grown (Nardini et al.
2012). However, while there has not so much attention about the relative importance of vegetation
structure and composition in determining the ecosystem and technical functions of green roofs, in the
last years, a number of studies have reported significant impacts of vegetation type on stormwater
runoff management (VanWoert et al. 2005).
In this paper, I aim to review existing research literature and summarize the process and importance of

makes the entry and tries to solve his predicament, by suggesting him to combine best of both his
parents culture as well as their wishes.
The second cultural plus religious conflict happens when Antonio tussles mentally to believe and
accept Catholic God. This is an extension of the above conflict, because Antonio gets torn between his
mother influenced Catholicism based Spanish culture and his father s indigenous roots. However, after
learning about the Golden Carp story and from his experiences, Antonio questions the existence of
Catholic god. He further doubts god s presence, as many evil things are going on under his watch,
without any stopping. Towards the end, with the guidance of Ultima, Antonio comes to the
understanding that one can form their own religion based on their beliefs from various religious
sources.
The third language conflict makes the appearance when Antonio goes to school, where English is the
medium of instruction. With Antonio being raised in the hotbed of indigenous cultures, where he was
taught only Spanish, he struggles to grasp and learn English. He finds the behaviour of the children in
his classroom quite alien to

Healthcare Reform Implementation
Healthcare Reform Implementation
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the implications of healthcare reform in the United States and
specifically, Ohio. The impact of healthcare reform in Ohio will be discussed with distinct focus
placed on positive and negative outcomes as well as the financial implications of the initiatives.
Healthcare Reform Overview According to the Garber Skinner (2008), the United States spends more
on health care than other nations but continues to score below other nations in numerous areas of
measurement. These scores in, consideration with amount spent, suggest that healthcare is the United
States is inefficient. Additionally, the United States has a significantly large portion of under ... Show

In Ohio, the financial aspects of ACA implementation are numerous. A large amount of Ohioans
received an average tax credit of $244 per month while about half that number, 41% of enrollees, were
able to secure insurance for $100 or less (United States of America, 2015). One million dollars was
received in research grants for Marketplace innovation and improvement and funds that were
originally spent on salaries and marketing were diverted to care improvement through the 80/20 rule
(United States of America, 2015). Large amounts of funds were made available to combat premium
increases which have saved approximately one billion dollars nationally (United States of America,
2015). Over $217 million has been made available for primary care services in community health
settings with an additional $33 million ear marked for prevention and public health needs (United
States of America, 2015). I believe this feature will have the greatest impact on health in Ohio.
Increased funding for community projects naturally leads to increased preventative measures and
decreased health care costs overall. Close to $235 million was saved in prescription costs by those
enrolled in Ohio Medicare through the closure of the medication coverage gap (United States of
America, 2015). This results in an average saving of $980 per

The First Only Atomic Bomb
The atomic bomb, also known as the atom bomb or fission bomb, a weapon whose explosive power
originates from the fission of atomic nuclei, a reaction in which an atomic nucleus splits in two. When
the nucleus of a heavy atom, such as the element uranium 235, which is what the atom bomb is made
out of, is split, a certain amount of mass disappears and an equivalent amount of energy is released.
This was expressed by the equation E=mc2 (energy = mass times the speed of light squared). This is
the energy that powers an atom bomb. On a pound for pound basis, the U 235 in an atomic bomb can
release on the order of one million times as much energy as TNT, a high explosive. The atomic bomb

Through the atom bomb, scientist have discovered how to harness the power of nuclear energy.
Nuclear power plants are far more efficient than traditional power plants. The medical field has also
taken advantage of the atomic bomb. Technology used in the atomic bomb is also used for CAT scans
and chemotherapy.
What Was The Outcome Of The Manhattan Project?
In 1945 the United States covert operation known as The Manhattan Project achieved its goal to create
the first atomic bomb. Since its inception in 1939, scientist had struggled to find a way to harness the
power of fission. Through the combined efforts of many, a test bomb known as Fat Boy was finally
created. On July 16, 1945 in a desert in New Mexico the worlds first nuclear test, codenamed Trinity,
was conducted and ushered in the Atomic Age. The Trinity test success led to the creation of two more
atomic bombs that would be used in WWII. On August 6, 1945 the American B 29 bomber known as
the Enola Gay released the first atomic bomb to be used in warfare. The 9,000 pound bomb
nicknamed Little Boy detonated in Hiroshima, Japan. Little Boy s explosion was catastrophic and
resulted in 66 thousand instantaneous deaths. Total vaporization from the blast measured one half a
mile in diameter. Total destruction ranged one mile in diameter and serious blazes extended as far as
three miles in diameter. Three days after the release of Little Boy a second bomb named Fat Man was
released on the town of Nagasaki.

Multicultural Psychology Essay
The methodical study of human behavior in situations in which people from different cultural
backgrounds interact defines multicultural psychology. Many consider multicultural psychology a
fourth force in psychology study. Communication, interactions, research, and investigations into
human behaviors give insight into how different cultures interact socially and how they live among the
different ethnic groups. Many issues have emerged in multicultural psychology. Two issues discussed
in this paper, cultural identity and baby boomers, describe some of the effects on multicultural
psychology.

As each group processes distinct characteristics, a constant exchange happens and the original cultural
beliefs and make up of the culture begins to be changed for one or both groups. The impact, either
negative or positive for both cultural groups will result in a congruent blending of each culture or a
cultural breakdown or confusion of one s culture. A person may have to choose whether he or she
want to or not and the expectations of his or her own culture may cause identity crisis (Shvoong,
2010).
Baby Boomers
Baby Boomers or the sandwich generation defined as adults between the ages of 45 and 55, who
married later in life, and raising children as well as caring for aging adults will impact future society.
The impact of these demographic changes has resulted in changing ideas in the expectation of
childcare, elderly care, and the role of woman. Most Baby Boomers have higher education, both
partners work fulltime in jobs held for more than one year and confidently and competently care for
both children under age of 21 and elderly parents under one roof (Belden, Russonello, Stewart and
Research/Strategy/Management, 2001). .Baby Boomers getting older will begin to have health
problems may entertain the thought of retiring from work and will live longer. Many have adapted
healthier lifestyles and could live longer and work beyond age 65. Those choosing to work longer will

Band Aids
The Smallest of Things can Make a Big Difference
Although there are many types of inventions, I think that Band Aids have impacted the world today in
several different ways. Band Aids are adhesive strips with small fabric of gauze stuck in the middle so
that you could easily wrap around your wound or cut. They have been very helpful for minor injuries,
have easy applications, and without them, there would be more bacteria in the world. And for my
entire life, every time I had small injuries, I depended on Band Aids, and clearly, they are my hero.
First of all, Band Aids are helpful since they can protect injuries with coverage, in which this reduces
pain and exposure. When I was younger, I remembered that I tripped on ... Show more content on

were highly opaque. In the phase of Nationalization Social control, there was there was total neglect
of rural agricultural sector. Due to the dominant role of government in economic activity, Indian
Financial system catered only to the needs of planned development in a mixed economy framework.
Financial markets were segmented underdeveloped with lack of instruments. There was existence of
complex structure of interest rates arising from social economic concerns. The regulation of lending
rates, led to regulation of deposit rates to keep cost of funds to banks at reasonable levels, so that the
spread between cost of funds and return on funds is maintained. The lack of recognition of the
importance of transparency, accountability and prudential norms in the operations of the banking
system led also to a rising burden of non performing assets. These lacunae in the policies system made
India lag behind in growth with its counterparts. For a long period of around 40 years, India s growth
rate remained average less than 4 percent per annum, while other less developing countries achieved a
growth rate of over 5 percent per annum. Moreover, countries like Japan East Asian countries were

The alternative book cover features Marjane Satrapi at four different stages of her life. The pictures
represent a transition and provide an overview of Satrapi s life from her childhood to her return in
Iran. It depicts Satrapi s personal life as well as the social and political progress towards liberalism in
Iran in the span of her departure and her return, which is few if any at all. The first picture is Satrapi
during her childhood in Iran, just after the Iranian Revolution, which deposed the Shah and allow
Ayatollah Khomeini to rise to power. Ayatollah Khomeini began by reforming many aspects of life in
Iran, shutting down schools in order to reform education policies, and requiring all women to wear

self, where she was refrained from exploring other ideas such as punk music and Marxism and must

close relatives takes care of her. She had to live in churches and with her friends in order to survive.
The third picture is Satrapi at around sixteen. At that point, she has changed drastically in physical
appearance. She also tried a new, more punk, look. She began hanging out at parties and in the woods
with her friends. Her habit of substance abuse, such as smoking marijuana, also developed during her
time with her friends. However, her relationship with her friends also began to fall apart at that point,
and she was kicked out of her boarding house. She found lodging at Hanse Niese Weg 1, owned by

Becoming A Successful Engineer Or Architect
Throughout my high school career I have learned a lot of things in my engineering classes, but my
junior year I have learned many things I can use in my future profession. From Studying skills to
dealing with social issues, this class has aided me in dealing with them all. From taking this class it
has prepared me a little more to try and be an architect or an engineer. I still have much to learn, but I
am heading in the right direction. Once I graduate from college I will have amassed enough
knowledge and experience to become a successful engineer or architect, I haven t really made up my
mind yet. In completing the numerous engineering projects in this class I have been tasked with many
types of group activities. When we worked on these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it performs well they move on to the next stage to refine and tweak it for the final product. However
if there we some problems they would have to identify it and fix it so that it functions properly. This
method is something that all engineers use and will be a key aspect in my field so I had better get used
to using it. The method I mentioned is something we used in all of our projects, even those that were
done individually. In a project of constructing our own nontraditional paper airplane, we had to
incorporate the method to construct a paper airplane without folding it like a simple paper airplane
usually is made. Initially I thought it would be a very simple project. Although after a series of failures
I had to change my approach. I brainstormed ideas for a while before I thought of a Han glider design.
Han gliders already fly or glide by themselves without any engine or power supply, and they are
aerodynamic in design to get me the required distance and then some. I drew up the sketch and the
draft with scales and all. Then construction of the Arius glider I began. Its first test flight was
successful, but I knew that it could be pushed further. After more drafts and tweaks to the design, I
developed the Arius glider VI that incorporated a coin to act as a weight and give more distance and
acceleration to the plane. All of this was made possible through the engineering process and what I
took from it. The majority of the projects we

landscape and it is the world s largest piece of limestone. It is located 30.7678 degrees south and
128.9700 degrees east. The Nullarbor Plain is elevated at 64 metres above sea level. The name
Nullarbor comes from the Latin for no trees , but the landscape is covered in small hardy shrubs such
as bluebush that are drought resistant and salt tolerant. The Nullarbor Plain has an average yearly
rainfall of less than 250mm, so there are no streams on the plain. The small amount of rain that does
fall either evaporates or is lost to the limestone.

Police Officers Die From Vehicle Crashes Alone
Every year about 60 police officers die from vehicle crashes alone. About another 90 police officers
die from other related causes every year. Vehicle accidents are the top twenty leading causes of death.
Police officers are paid a significant amount of money because their job can be very dangerous at
times. Police officers spend most of their time in a police cruiser and when an incident occurs, they
should be able to rely on the vehicle to get them there safely or to keep them safe. Police cruisers
should have top of the line equipment and safety features just in case of a crash.
Every year approximately 32,000 people die from motor vehicle crashes and about three and a half
million people are injured from a motor crash (Quick Facts 2014). Police cruisers are designed more
efficiently and safely so that police officers have a slighter chance of being hurt in the field. Whether it
is chasing after a fleeing suspect or completing a traffic stop, an officer should be able to feel
comfortable in their vehicle to keep them safe in a bad situation. In the Police Chief Magazine John
Batiste noted, 42 percent of law enforcement officers killed in traffic crashes were not wearing a
seatbelt. Police departments could have prevented many deaths if there was a policy that required
officers to wear their seat belts. Police officers should not give someone a ticket for not wearing their
seat belt if they are incapable of wearing their own.

  • 2. The Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Teens It takes a village to raise a child, or at least it was once believed to. It seems each year parents are getting younger in age, and the birth rate is rising higher. Mississippi has the highest birth rates in teen pregnancy, and has held this title for the past few years. This problem has had such a rise to fame because this is a problem that can be prevented. Parents and communities should take action to help lower the teen pregnancy birth rate in Mississippi. Since the birth rate in teens is so high that means there is more need of government assistance. This becomes such a problem in states because with more government assistance come more money, and in states like Mississippi, who is ranked as one of the poorest states in America, this falls back on everyone. Even though the birth rate has gotten out of control, teen pregnancy is 100% preventable. With the right knowledge and explanations this problem could be incredibly reduced. Teen pregnancy becomes an even larger problem because not only does it affect the families involved, but it affects the economy. According to Newswire PR, Mississippi has seen a 36% decline in the teen birth rate between 1991 and 2010. (PR). Also it has been said that teen pregnancy could also cause higher rates with incarceration and child welfare, which are the main concerns from the government (PR). For the past few years many have tried to come up with solutions for teen pregnancy rates. One that comes across the board for years is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Report Of A Portion Of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc. ( Lactalis ) INTRODUCTION This memorandum presents the findings of a review of a portion of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc. (Lactalis) s waste stream that may potentially be sent offsite for disposal during a temporary shutdown of the cheese production facility s whey dryer. This memo is intended to identify environmental risks associated with the hauling and disposal of sweet whey offsite. BACKGROUND Lactalis operates a whey dryer to manufacture dried whey protein from the by product (i.e. sweet whey) generated from the cheese production process. Lactalis is planning to remove the whey dryer from service for a period of up to six (6) months to accomplish repairs to the system, and is considering disposal options for the whey during this downtime period. Lactalis local counsel, Givens Pursley, LLP (Givens Pursley) intends to identify regulatory and environmental risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey dryer. Givens Pursley will identify the regulatory risk, determine if there is a legal liability and see if there is capacity for the whey to be absorbed by local facilities. Forsgren Associates (Forsgren) conducted an analysis of the sweet whey to identify environmental risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey facility. SWEET WHEY WASTE STREAM ANALYSIS Whey is a by product of the cheese making process which represents 90% of the volume and 50% of the solids of milk used in the manufacture of cheese. It is a very dilute ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on The Black Balloon Movie Review Would you be able to cope? That is the unspoken challenge laid down by The Black Balloon, a harrowing, unsentimental portrait of a middle class Australian family whose oldest son has severe autism compounded by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Would you find in yourself the seemingly infinite reserves of love and patience possessed by the Mollisons, the movie s itinerant, highly stressed army family who have just moved to the suburbs of Sydney? Maybe not. The Black Balloon, directed by Elissa Down, was inspired by her experiences growing up in a household with two autistic brothers, the younger of whom served as the model for Charlie (Luke Ford), a mute who communicates in sign language and heaving, wheezing grunts. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No sooner has she left than Charlie begins wreaking havoc. The scenes of Charlie running amok are agonizing. One afternoon he flees in his underwear and, with Thomas in frantic pursuit, dashes through the neighbourhood and into a strange house to use the bathroom. In a supermarket checkout line he flops onto the floor and begins bellowing when Simon asks him to return some items to the shelves; eventually he has to be dragged out of the store screaming. At one point an angry neighbour summons child services to the Mollisons home. In the most repellent scene, Charlie is discovered in his room smearing his poo on the carpet and over his body. Thomas is expected to clean up the mess. His growing sense of being trapped by his brother s disability is evoked in moments when he anxiously listens to Charlie s noises and to the squall of the newborn through the door of his room. The blooming puppy love between Thomas and Jackie lends The Black Balloon a welcome strain of tenderness. Mr. Wakefield and Ms. Ward project the innocence of shy, sensitive young people for whom a tentative shared kiss is a very big deal. But Ms. Collette s Maggie is the film s prime mover. This wonderful Australian actress, who hasn t a shred of vanity, virtually disappears into the complicated characters she plays, and Maggie is one of the strongest. With every forceful gesture and glaring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The ones that are legally leaving China that comes to the U.S. most of the time are looking for a better job opportunity. Professional, Ethical, and Legal Issues in Human Services Michal Cash BSHS332/Professional, Ethical, and Legal Issues in Human Services Introduction Every day people are faced with dilemmas within their work place. Some of those dilemmas are minor while others are major and go against the ethics that people have. Some of them not only go against one s personal ethics, but work ethics as well. Some are able to look past these dilemmas and continue on while others can t and feel the needs to confront the person or person s that are involved. One has to remember that their values maybe different than others and that is more so true within the work place than anywhere else s. From now on if any situation arises like this one she will not go to the principle, but to the administration over the principle because she know believes that even if she goes to the principle she will not do anything to the teacher. Conclusion The biggest dilemma that we as humans face in the work place is what we as individuals see as personal values may not be the same values that everyone else holds. We are each our own individual and we have all been raised in different cultures with different values. We all come together within the work place to not just do a job, but to try and work together with people that are different from ourselves. When we find ourselves in a dilemma that goes against our ethics, one has to ask themselves, how does this affect my values, and does it affect our values so much that we need to report it to a higher authority . Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all (Quotes About Ethics, 2012). If one see something that goes against their personal values and does nothing about it than they need to reevaluate their values. If it is something important to them, than they will do everything within their power to stop whatever they see is wrong. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This type of stroller is typically the one parents envision when they consider a second stroller that is compact enough to take on the go. This type of stroller is generally basic and does not include any extras that are common on full sized strollers. The other type of lightweight stroller is a bit bigger than an umbrella stroller but not as big as a standard stroller. This type of lightweight stroller generally is more comfortable and has a few conveniences such as under seat storage and larger sunshades. Budget As with most items you buy, price is always a consideration. Lightweight strollers have a wide price range, depending on the features you are looking for. It is not hard to find a lightweight stroller to fit any budget, and it is equally as easy to find one that will break your bank account. The idea of saying no seemed liked the easiest thing to accomplish back then, but as I grew older, I realized nothing is as easy as it seems. I was at that age where life changing decisions were to be made. It was that time of the year when students in 8th grade pondered upon themselves deciding on different high schools to spend four years in. I d like to describe myself as a very simple person. So going to a normal high school, that s close to my house with almost half of the people from middle school sounded like the best decision ever. In 1884, Judge Lorenzo Sawyer s ruling against the North Bloomfield Mining and Gravel Company (for the full story, see Malakoff Diggings) ended hydraulic mining and created a base of unemployed workers with journeyman skills in hydro engineering. Their experience with penstocks and monitor nozzles was invaluable, and they were eager for work. As mine shafts replaced hydraulic mining, a power source was needed to operate water pumps, air pumps, stamp mills, lighting, and other machinery. Steam power plants required boilers, piping, the ongoing costs of coal or wood fuel, and a significant workforce to run the operation. Even with the cost of building dams, hydroelectricity was a less expensive option. One of the first recorded uses of hydroelectric power for mining in California was the 1889 DC powerhouse for the Dalmatia mine in El Dorado County. Concerning everything we could ask we can ask for quite a bit! We sometimes pray: Lord, I want a million dollars, and a brand new car. Well, that s not exactly what God is teaching here. How about opportunities to reach the lost? Prayers for patience? Prayers for wisdom? We can think quite a few things as well: Can God really help me through this temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)? Is God going to be there for me through the hard times (Psalm 23)? Will He provided for my needs (Matthew 6:31 33)? Finally, the verse in Ephesians says: according to the power that works within us. A tidal salt marsh is a community of plants and animals that thrive in wet saline conditions (ADBC, 2010), which rely on the tides to bring nutrients, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorous. As the tide leaves the wetlands, pools are exposed which shorebirds can feed on larvae without competition from fish that was impossible during the time period of water diversion and dam construction. The land became baron; an area of waste land, until 1967, when the water originally diverted for irrigation of fields, was redirected to the lowland area. In 2006, a tidal inlet was successfully opened after 107 years, allowing the tide to flow to various parts of the wetlands which had previously been closed off (ADBC, 2010). During the process of Bolsa Chica environmental change, much has been learned about ecosystem destruction and restoration. Wetland areas are as Wright states among the most productive ecosystems on earth, rich in breeding grounds for many species of fish, shellfish, and waterfowl (2008). Interfering with the natural biogeochemical cycles can have devastating effects, completely wiping out ecosystems. Lessons learned are valuable for other restoration projects, many of which are in progress throughout the United States (U.S.). Business organisations and other corporate entities require substantial capital to grow and expand their ventures. When the financial resources of a business entity are stretched to the limit, equity capital is scarce and therefore expansion is stalled. Therefore, in order to improve their financial liquidity, the shareholders may not be ready to relinquish their holdings by issuing stocks to the public. Hence, they have resorted to innovative ways of raising additional capital with minimal cost. For ten years, the company remained successful with its unique AirCap protection packaging product however, unfortunately the market trends were rapidly changed and the technologically advanced coated bubble was replaced by the inexpensive and regular uncoated bubble products. The current strategy of that time for Sealed Air Corporation was customer orientation and they had manufactured products according to the needs of the customers regarding packaging. So they manufactured a number of products including InstaPak foam in place systems. Later on due to the continuing drop in demand for coated products the company needed to change their strategy and Hauser proposed to produce low cost uncoated bubbles in a short time with no major capital investments. Hauser was himself unclear about the marketing plan for the new product because the launch of new products and the new marketing program would increase the cost to the company and so the company would be needed to make certain adjustments in its overall policies. Analysis of the Competitive Structure of the Market The market of the protective packaging products was divided into two major classes, uncoated bubbles and coated bubbles. Thus different types of packaging products were Positioning, Blocking, Bracing, Flexible wraps and Void fill (uncoated bubbles) and AirCap (Coated Bubbles). In this regard the competitive structure of the market for uncoated bubbles was high with a number of competitors whereas in the category of coated bubbles, Sealed Air Corporation was the only producer and market leader and so they offered this product at a premier price. • 34. Environmental Benefits Of Green Roofs Introduction There are several ecological and environmental benefits of green roofs which have consequentially brought in increasing interests in this technology. A green roof, as a carpeting of plants on the roof of buildings, offers many benefits in addition to enhancing its aesthetic value. Primarily, green roofs have the ability to delay the storm runoff peak occurrence, thus reducing the peak flow rate and mitigating flood risks. Another benefit is its thermal insulation potential that reduces the urban heat island effect. They also help with pollution abatement, carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and general improvement of life quality in urban ecosystems (Xiaosheng et al. 2014). Green roofs generally consist of a rather simple layering covering the rooftop, including a waterproof layer, a water retention layer and a drainage/filter layer topped with substrate with different depths according to both maximum load capacity of the roof and vegetation type to be grown (Nardini et al. 2012). However, while there has not so much attention about the relative importance of vegetation structure and composition in determining the ecosystem and technical functions of green roofs, in the last years, a number of studies have reported significant impacts of vegetation type on stormwater runoff management (VanWoert et al. 2005). In this paper, I aim to review existing research literature and summarize the process and importance of vegetation selection criteria for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
