2. Benefits And Benefits Of Benefits
Benefits Plan Benefits are a very important part of the compensation piece for Techtron. They can
often make or break a recruit s decision to accept a position with the company. Therefore it is
important that we offer a competitive benefits package while keeping the bottom line in mind. Within
the realm of benefits there are two types: Legally required benefits and discretionary benefits.
Defined, legally required benefits are protection programs that attempt to promote worker safety and
health, maintain family income streams, and assist families in crisis . The Social Security Act of 1935,
workers compensation laws which vary by state, and the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993 are all
mandated under federal law. Discretionary benefits are benefits that employers chose to offer. These
benefits fall under protection programs, pay for time not worked, and services (Martocchio, 2015).
Legally Required Benefits: The Social Security Act of 1935 provides for unemployment insurance,
Old age, Survivor and Disability insurance or OASDI for short, and means tested welfare programs all
of which were brought about by The Great Depression (Martin, P. Weaver, D., 2005). Social Security
is financed through a specific payroll tax. Both employers and employees pay 6.2% of wages up to the
taxable maximum of (2015) $118,500. The breakdown in the OASDI is as follows: OASI = 5.3%, DI
= .90%, Total = 6.2% (Retrieved from www.ssa.gov). Workers compensation laws vary by state. In

3. Rico s Story Meaning
I decided to pick the song Rico s Story Part II because of the intense story line. The song tells a story
of a man named Rico who is going through a lot of hard times with people and his own individual life.
The song is broken up into three portions but the second version is my favorite. It is the uprising of the
song where everything begins to fall into place and events start to unfold. The point of the song is
showing the The song begins with Rico, the main character, is on the run from the police. He is
wanted for crimes committed in part one of Rico s story. Previously, he was confronted by a police
officer and shot him in the head when he was pulled over on the highway. While he is on the run he

4. Society In Pre Colonial Society
Pre colonial society were easy to gain control of because they did not want to fight or have any war so
they decided on peaceful arrangements. Their religion also made it easy for colonizer to gain control
because they were very superstitious and would always need to consult the oracle before doing
anything. Pre colonial society was easy to gain control of since there was no one to lead the clan in
unity since they went off titles. The people of pre colonial society were very oblivion so they would
give the colonizers anything that they would ask for. The elements of pre colonial society that made it
vulnerable to the colonizers were that they were unwilling to fight, superstitious due to their religion,
had no leader and were oblivion. The Village of Umuofia was peaceful and the people were not
willing to fight for any reason and if it was possible they will rather settle it with a peaceful
settlement. In the second chapter, the village of Umuofia had a problem with the village of Mbaino
since one of Umuofia daughter was murdered in Mbaino and they gave them a choice to either have a
war or to give up a fifteen year old and a virgin of their own to replace the murdered daughter of their
village (11). The villages did not want to go to war with Umuofia when they have a problem because
that village is known for having strong men and so they will rather decide on a peaceful settlement
rather than go to war with them and loose. This gave the colonizers easy control of the

5. History of Medical Coding and Billing
History and Future Of Medical Coding and Billing John F. McMahon BU480, Central Methodist
University Abstract Medical coding and billing affects everyone during their lifetime and yet the
regulations of medical coding and billing are extremely complex. Examining the history, evaluation,
and effect of new regulations and their cost shed light on an already complex industry. We will review
government regulations, technological advancements, and requirements that providers will face in the
near future. We will examine our current systems and how they evolved through time and what they
may be in the future. We have reviewed articles from the Medical Billing and Coding Association, the

The ninth edition of the ICD codes were developed and pushed in a direction so that the codes could
be used for billing instead of just disease classification. (Department Health and Human Services,
1998) Medical coding after 1976 became the standard for health care providers to set cost and bill for
procedures based on the ICD codes. The ICD codes are taken from the different sources within
patients health care record, physician notes, lab results, x rays. Procedures performed on body parts
are all taken into consideration when assessing a value for services rendered. The fees associated with
each procedure are regulated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and by state
governments. Before this system of billing, physicians charged whatever they thought was appropriate
and in many instances bartered for their services. (Department Health and Human Services, 1998)
Government and insurance standards also regulate the cost of procedures that have been identified by
the coding system. The responsibility of making sure that accurate billing takes place falls to the coder
that use the ICD 9 and ICD 10 codes. These codes then tell the biller what to bill. Reimbursement
rates for procedures are controlled the US Department of Health and Human Services and state

This is important to remember with a water molecule because the hydrogen bonds between individual

words, the concentration of hydrogen ions goes up the the further doe the pH scale you go. Bases are
any substance that accepts hydrogen ions in aqueous solution. Again, the more basic it is the lower the
concentration of hydrogen ions. 12. The pH scale is a scale used to measure the relative acidity or
alkalinity of a solution. The scale ranges from 0 to 14, and figures out the concentration of hydrogen
ions in a solution. The lower the pH number, the more acidic the solution is. The higher the pH
number, the more basic the solution. 13. At the chemical level, Johnny would be able to tell if
something was an acid or a base by the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution. 14. H+ refers to a
hydrogen ion: a lone proton that has lost its electron making it a positively charged ion. 15. Acids are
H+ donators: Acids release hydrogen ions in a solution, meaning the hydrogen ions concentration goes

Bases are H+ acceptors: Bases accepts hydrogen ions in a solution, meaning the hydrogen ion
concentration goes down and the pH

budget. Below we have collected some thoughts about differences of various types of lenses. Prime
Lenses vs Zoom Lenses A prime lens has a fixed focal length, while a zoom lens covers a range of
focal lengths. Zoom lenses are often more expensive as they contain more elements. Because prime
lenses are optimized for their fixed focal length and there is less light distorting elements used, they

El Nino Fidencio The Mythical Curandero Throughout the book Curanderismo: Mexican American

Even today el Niño is an important figure in many aspects of the belief system and practice associated

Followers of Fidencio and other spirits tend to have much more religious beliefs due to the fact that
they are wholly focused on doing their work through the guidance, protection and possession by that

connection that they have with the seen unseen realms associated with the gifts that mediums possess.

saint who will ultimately work through them. Others might choose to work alone, some for profit and

10. The Paleolithic And Neolithic
Many people wonder where they come from and how they became humans. There are two eras
throughout history that talks about how humans used to survive when there wasn t anything to make a
well constructed shelter, weapons or kitchen essentials to make food to eat. According to Garvin
Lewis in the book WCIV Volume 1. Boston: Wadsworth, Cengage Learning, 2012, the Paleolithic era
was the earliest and longest period of prehistory, when humans used simple stone stool (Lewis). The
Neolithic era was the period of human history characterized by advances in stone stool making and the
beginning of agriculture (Lewis). This essay is going to compare and contrast the people in Paleolithic
era and Neolithic. The difference between the people in the Paleolithic and Neolithic era was the way
they both obtain food, and how they both lived. The similarity that the people of the Paleolithic and
Neolithic era had was that each gender obtained somewhat the same roles. Lastly, the way that art was
used. In the Paleolithic era, people were foragers and gathers because they used to hunt wild animals
and forage wild plants (Diamond). In this era, everyone was constantly looking for food since they
didn t have no stored food and no concentrated food source (Diamond). Since they didn t have a place
to permanently live in they used to move around and find food as a small group and they used to
permanently stay in caves. In the other hand, Farmer of the Neolithic era were people that

history of illnesses, current mental health illnesses, or potential future development of an illness.
Along with coverage of pre existing conditions and prohibiting insurance companies to cancel
coverage if a person becomes ill, the act is the first act in history that ensures that mental health and
substance abuse treatment services are required benefits in all basic health insurance packages
providing health for a much wider range of people (ProCon.org). The Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act prohibits all health plans, including grandfathered plans, from rescinding a health
insurance policy once one is covered (ProCon.org). The only possible reason for a health insurance
policy to rescind ones coverage is if the enrollee has committed fraud or made an intentional
misrepresentation of material fact (ProCon.org). The universal coverage by this new act is a major
benefit in the structure of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. When determining if the
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is beneficial for America or not, it is important to look at
both sides of the argument. There are many positives that provide a strong argument supporting the
bill. When the bill was initially proposed, President Obama assured Americans that, if they so choose,

23. We All Fall Down By Robert Cormier
Essay:
In Robert Cormier s novel, We All Fall Down, is a young adult thriller that explores the evil side of
humanity through a number of corrupt characters. Cormier, to a large extent, accurately depicts
manipulative and dishonest behaviour whilst also showing the evil lurking within the prominent
characters of Harry Flowers, Buddy Walker and Mickey Stallings who showcase the dark side of
humanity. Cormier explores this through Harry Flower s manipulative actions that result in the
suffering of others. Additionally, the constant dishonest behaviour is shown predominantly through the
main protagonist of Buddy Walker, who deceives the one he loves. Cormier continues to depict the
evil lurking in society through the theme of appearance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conjunction with Buddy s thoughts in italics emphasises his allowance for Harry to control his
thoughts. Proving that people in society such as Harry Flowers, are clear examples of the evil lurking
within humanity and that not everyone is good. Furthermore, Harry is able to escape justice and
selflessly takes the blame. However, his true intentions were to take control of Buddy s life and allow
him to live in fear. Harry condescendingly hides his true motives in saying, Admit it, Buddy. You
thought Harry would blow the whistle on you and Mary and Randy. (p.104). The use of third person
narrative clearly shows Harry s dominance over Buddy and his ability to easily manipulate any
situation. By saying, admit it, Buddy he torments Buddy throughout the novel into thinking that he
would blow the whistle on him and the others. By using a variety of positioning techniques, Cormier
depicts a manipulative and tormenting character of Harry Flowers.
Cormier continues to successfully depict morally corrupt characters, such as Buddy Walker and his
consistent dishonest behaviour. Buddy begins his relationship with Jane because of his overwhelming
guilt about the night of the trashing. He becomes obsessed with her and is convinced on absolving his
guilt, this is evident when he anonymously calls Jane, He had not given the picture another thought
until: Hello. And then: Who is this? (p.118). The binary opposition is used to exemplify Buddy s evil

24. The Importance Of Sleep In Personal Training
Have you been training and eating greta but still not losing weight as fast as you think you should?
Perhaps you need to look at how much (or how little) you are sleeping. The other day I was working
out with a personal training group early in the morning and one client was complaining about how
tired she was and how hard it was to get up so early come to personal training. I asked a simple
question, How much sleep are you getting? She explained that with work, errands, family
commitments, and cooking dinner, she never got time to relax so she ended up staying up late to read
or watch tv, and didn t go to sleep until close to 12 midnight. Now, when you are getting up at 5:00 am
to join your personal training sessions; that s not quite enough sleep. There are plenty of scientific
studies about sleep ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Less sleep causes an increase in ghrelin levels. If you don t get enough sleep you have more of these
hunger hormones telling you that you are hungry. Leptin hormones tell you when your body is full and
lack of sleep causes a drop in Leptin. If you do not have enough leptin your body doesn t recognize
that you are full and you can set yourself up for overeating. Lack of sleep can increase the production
of the stress hormone, cortisol. Cortisol is best known for increasing belly fat. If your sleep is
deprived; cortisol increases and you are at risk for higher levels of belly fat whether you are training
or not. Do you know how much sleep you should get? According to a 16 year study presented in 2006
at the American Thoracic Society International Conference; women who slept 7 hours or more per
night weigh less than women who slept 5 hours or less. Women who slept 6 hours per night were 6%
more likely to be obese and 12% more likely to gain at least 33lbs or more. Women who slept 5 hours
per night were 15% more likely to be obese and 32% more likely to gain at least 33lbs or

25. Essay on Severe Air Pollution in China
After many years of ignoring the air pollution, smog ridden China has finally begun to
take this issue more seriously. They are the worst country in the world when it comes to air
pollution due to their huge population and large demand of manufactured goods (AFOP). This
however is no excuse for what they do to the environment. This is a very important issue because
of how much environmental damage can be prevented as well as setting an example of pollution
reduction across the world. They must take this issue very seriously because air quality has
gotten to the point where people are getting sick and dying there (The News Tribune, 2014). I

As of now China is promoting green energy to help cut back the use of
fossil fuels, but this is a slow change and they are also reducing iron production (Barbara
Finamore). The implementation of these changes may be gradual but they must be in order to
keep up with China s energy needs. These changes will be very helpful towards this crucial issue
and though it may take time will eventually have a significant impact on reduction of air
pollution in China.
Another crucial step to reducing air pollution is changing energy habits. This goes hand in
hand with reducing air pollution. If China is to permanently change their horrible air pollution
they must not only reduce air pollution, but also switch to more effective energy sources. There
are many types of clean energy sources such as: solar, wind, and hydroelectric. These energy
sources are infinite, unlike coal and oil, which will eventually run out. As well as being more
plentiful they also leave no pollution behind (NRDC). Though not all of China s needs can be
26. filled by green or renewable energy but any little bit helps. Since China is so large the more
clean energy we use, the less air pollution being put out. This not only effects China, but the
whole world because they re pollution is contributing to global warming as other global issues.
With continued improvements China plans to have 13% clean energy by 2017 (Barbara
Finamore). This is a huge step towards reducing air pollution

27. The Baroque Style
The Baroque style helped change the role of the viewers. Italian Renaissance kept viewers at a
distance from the work but played with varying perspectives making them reflect intellectually on
what they were seeing (714). Bernini helped develop the new Baroque style by allowing the viewer to
see the sculpture from all sides. The new three dimensional perspective helps give David more lifelike
qualities by allowing the viewer to see the lean, sinewy body, tightly clenched mouth, and straining
muscles (717). Incorporating the viewer into the surrounding space, Bernini, implies the presence of
an unseen adversary somewhere behind the viewer recognizing the viewer as a part of the sculpture
and the action, a major component of the Baroque

31. The Meaning Behind Seeing By Raymond Carver
The Meaning Behind Seeing In the short story Cathedral by Raymond Carver, there is a very
insightful message spoken about the true definitions between having sight and being able to see. The
story focuses on three characters, and they each have emotions connected to one another, whether it be
trust, jealousy or compassion. These characters include a blind man named Robert, the narrator who is
unnamed in the story, and his wife who also does not receive a name for the story line. Each of these
characters have been through a series of obstacles which are clearly stated in the short story. Some of
the difficulties, however, need to be interpreted in between the lines, such as the narrator s alcoholism
issues and marital problems with the narrator and his wife. Quite a few of the difficulties the
characters come across in Cathedral , were based off of the painful life Carver lived. When Carver was
asked if his life moments were inspiration for his collection of stories his answer was, None of my
stories really happened, of course... but there s always something, some element, something said to me
or that I witnessed, that may be a starting place (Caldwell n.pg. 17). From Cathedral the audience can
become aware that ...Carver weaves into Cathedral a narrative of alcoholism, from addiction and
alienation to bitter self awareness and then, sometimes, a legitimate hope of recovery (Messer n.pg. 4).
This meaning, Carver wrote Cathedral to be a positive story about how a

32. Olaudah Equiano, A British Slave, And Frederick Douglass...
The autobiographies of Olaudah Equiano, a British slave, and Frederick Douglass and Harriet Jacobs,
American slaves, highlight the transition from the institution of British slavery pre American
Revolution to the 18th and 19th century American plantation slavery. The explicit differences between
the two systems suggest unique factors that either promoted or hindered each institution. In Britain,
slavery was generally driven by economic factors that relied on trained labor. Growth and expansion
of slavery in the United States, however, was deeply rooted in consistent oppression and exploitation
of slaves through physical and psychological abuses, which in turn gave slave owners unchecked
power that ensured the perpetuation of plantation slavery. The placement of slaves throughout
different regions of the world shaped individual experiences, allowing for the growth of varied slave
institutions. The life of Olaudah Equiano, a slave sent primarily to Britain and its colonies, in contrast
with the lives of American slaves, defines this clear difference. While enslaved, Equiano was taught
how to read and write, and was baptized as a Christian. These events marked the bridging of the wide
gap between African slaves and their European slave owners, as slaves in Britain participated in
aspects of society traditionally associated with Europeans. Equiano s apprehensions and
alarms...among the Europeans began to decrease, as he was continually being integrated into society

33. J Alfred Prufrock Allusions
In the struggle of everyday life, taking a somewhat small risk can sometimes feel like an incredibly
daunting task. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot describes one such experience as a
man, Prufrock, describes his evening with a woman with whom he d like to be in a relationship with.
However the task of bringing this up to the woman appears too daunting for Prufrock, and as his
insecurities overtake him, he fails to gather the courage to ask her. The use of allusion in the love song
of J. Alfred Prufrock by Andrew McCulloch analyzes several literary allusions throughout The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and eventually comes to the conclusion that only those who relate to the
poem will gain full emotional satisfaction from it. The article begins by giving a brief description of
modernism in literature and how The Love Song Of J. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McCulloch then goes on to describe how elliots work as a whole relates to traditional literature and
how The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock serves as a departure from the victorian age of literature. T.
S. Elliot s opinions on the Metaphysical poet, John Donne are highlighted in the next section to further
emphasize Eliot s views on how experiences are key when relating to poetry. In a direct quote from
Eliot he criticizes most metaphysical poets for ransacking nature and art for illustrations, comparisons
and allusions however he compliments Donne for his use of relatable ideas to create emotion.
McColloch makes the argument that Eliot s admiration of Donne clearly influences his work and the
modernist movement as a whole. Through the

34. Factory Working Conditions Of Bangladesh
Factory Working Conditions In Bangladesh Does it take a catastrophic event for the factories in
Bangladesh to become know for the harsh working conditions? Most Americans don t understand, nor
do Americans see how the factories and sweatshop workers are affected by the unsafe environments,
the illegal use of children, and the minimal pay with no compensation. Americans take for granted the
pay received, and the type of working conditions that are set in order to for the business to operate.
Child labor laws in Bangladesh are very few in number, and the few that are set in place don t
completely protect the underage children working. Working in such a hazardous environment the
workers should be compensated in either pay or benefits. The working environments and conditions in
Bangladesh are not only harsh, but unsafe, and the workers are under compensated for the conditions.
Factories in Bangladesh have some of the worst working environments for workers to operate in.

some of the most catastrophic work hazards happen in the factories. In

35. Essay On Ethnicity And Multiculturalism
The meaning of music and its value has evolved over the years of its birth. In the present world, music
is now interpreted and taken as one can imagine it. The idea and worth of music to an individual or
group can mean anything to them. There is no consistent meaning of music because anyone can create
their own meaning rather than following another s. Ethnicity on the other hand has a solid definition.
From the Oxford Concise Dictionary of Sociology, Ethnicity defines individuals who consider
themselves, or are considered by others, to share common characteristics which differentiate them
from the other collectives in a society within which they develop distinct cultural behavior. (Marshall,
1994) Ethnicity in a sense is the idea and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt like there was no diversity when it came to the repertoire that the ensembles performed. I bring
this up because I grew up in an environment that is filled to the brim with different cultures and
backgrounds, but the music that the children learn only represents one group. I feel like the town s
music program could have been so much more but it fell stuck to traditions. By doing this, children
immediately become uninterested in music and dislike taking music classes and only a handful of
children stay within the program. Their only reason to take the class is to fill the requirement then
afterwards never take a music class again. In the end, the students have more trouble finding their own
identity, ethnically and musically. They had to explore the music for themselves and find what they
like.
I believe it is important to showcase all of the distinct genres and styles of music in a music classroom
because they are all important to whoever is listening and it helps show the students that they should
be proud of what they identify themselves as. It is disappointing to see such a great and well funded
music program such as South Brunswick Township to fall under traditions and norms, and not further
explore other music that can help students find themselves. It is vital to show children different
composers and artists that are like them and are more invested into and better represent them

There once lived a hobbit Frodo Baggins, who lived in a beautiful hobbit hole in the Shire. Frodo was
a peaceful hobbit at the time, but not for long...
Many years ago, he helped destroy Mordor, a great and powerful realm with millions of orcs. At that

the safety of the people, was to destroy the ring for good. Frodo was successful, and saved all of the
