Florida Hospital And The United States
Florida Hospital has grown to be one of the largest healthcare providers in the United States.
Impressively, Florida Hospital had a very humble beginning and a modest growth. In 1908, a
small group of Seventh Day Adventists in Orlando developed their vision of bringing health care to
the area. As part of their philanthropy, they were able to raise the funds necessary to purchase
Florida Hospitals first facility near Lake Estelle. It was a two story farmhouse that had a
wraparound porch and had once served those needing treatment for tuberculosis. The facility had
the capacity to care for 20 patients at any given time.
During the 1950s, Florida Hospital transformed its two story farm house to a structure that was
able to care for 160 patients. They were able to make improvements to the facility, such as air
conditioning, that allowed for year round care to patients. With each purchase of new facilities in
the decades to follow, Florida Hospital has grown to over 20 hospitals large, providing services to
many people who live in Central Florida and the surrounding areas. This has allowed the network
to include many leaders in their respective fields to offer care to patients in many different
specialized areas.
The mission of Florida Hospital was developed with inspiration from the study of scripture. Since
the founders of Florida Hospital, the Seventh day Adventist Church, were faith based, the mission
became to extend the healing ministry of Christ. This mission drives

The North Coast And Gulf Coast Of Florida
There were a total of 48 counties that were studied along the Gulf Coast. These counties were
used as the regions for how each state was subdivided. The coastal regions were made of 22 regions
in Florida, 2 regions in Alabama, 3 regions in Mississippi, 9 regions in Louisiana, and 12 regions
in Texas. When the entire coastline of Floridawas studied, Florida has 1,350 miles of coastline.
There are 35 counties that are along the coastline of Florida. One additional county was used that
is not along the coastline as there was a shark bite at a Disney park. Larger counties were
subdivided for a total of 55 regions; this is similar to the previous research conducted by Amin,
Ritter and Kennedy (2012) [1]. The East Coast and Gulf Coast of... Show more content on

It has a relative risk of 14.55 and a p value of 0.297. The p value again is greater than alpha of 0.05,
and it is concluded that there is an equal chance of being bitten by a shark across all regions.
Another purely spatial analysis was run to scan for clusters with low risk rates with a maximum
window size set to 50% as before. The resulting cluster was made of the counties of the northern
most part of Texas, all of the coastal counties of Louisiana and Mississippi and the most western
county in Alabama, which in Figure 9 12 is represented by regions 57 71. There is a relative risk of
0 and a p value of 0.000016 (see Figure 8). Since the p value of 0.000016 is less than alpha of 0.05,
the null hypothesis that there is an equal chance of being bitten by a shark is rejected; it can be
concluded that there is a lower risk in this region than all other regions studied as represented in
Figures 9 12. When the retrospective space time analysis is run in SaTScanTM for high rates,
produced four clusters, but none of the p values are less than alpha at 0.05. It appears that from
2004 to 2005, the risk of being bitten by a shark was heightened, and there is a relative risk of
22.46 (see Figure 13). When scanning for low rates, there was a relative risk of 0 from the coast of
eastern Louisiana to the central part of the Gulf Coast of Florida for 1994 to 1998 (see Figure 14).

Gender Roles In Argentine Tango And The Music Of Native...
There are hundreds, even thousands of styles music and each style from each place has its own
set of beliefs and traditions. A common tradition and theme in music is the role of men and
women and how each gender is perceived or included in a tradition. Tango is an example of this;
men are supposed to be a strong, masculine, even virile figure who lead the effeminate, submissive
female partner. Another example of genderroles in musicis in the musics of Native Americans and
First Nation people where traditionally only men were able to play the drums in the middle of the
circle at large gatherings such as powwows. There are several other instances our class discussed
in which gender roles helped define a musical tradition, but this short essay will focus primarily on
gender roles within the Argentine tango and the music of Native Americans and First Nation people.

This idea stems from the mythic figure at the center of tango known as the compadrito who is
supposed to be the urban version of the Argentine cowboy known as a gaucho. The male dancer
in tango is typically a flashy dresser who stands tall and has a cer5tain machismo about him. The
dance style of tango is supposed to display traditional gender roles of men and women and the
man in the dance is typically leading the women who is supposedly in need of a strong man and
is dressed in a way to exhibit her natural sexuality. The idea of a male within tango has shifted
somewhat due to Carlos Gardel who helped spread tango globally in the early 21st century.

Piety And Its Role As Powerful Positions During The Period...
Piety and its Role in Powerful Positions
During the period of early Arab conquests, massive transformations were taking place as a new
great confessional empire was emerging. During this time many conflicts and questions arose. Who
is the rightful Caliph once the prophet Muhammad dies? What makes a good Caliph? What is to be
done with the non Muslims? What does it mean to be a Muslim? One of the major themes that
arose from these questions was the importance of being pious when holding some form of
power, whether political or military. Primary sources demonstrate how this theme has come to
fruition, such as in a letter to the Caliph Umar II, and Tabari s The History of Prophet s and
Kings. The letter to Caliph Umar II is important in developing the role of religious devotion in
connection to holding power because it starts to question what exactly the role of the Caliph is.
It seems by this letter that the role of the Caliph is not just to be a political head for the
conquered land of the Caliphate, but they also need to be a religious leader as well. An
important part of being that religious head is being pious, to demonstrate to others how to fully
become devout and submit to God. The writer, Hasan al Basri, in this letter is asking the Caliph
to do away with luxury and go back to the simpler times because it is dangerous to dally in
decadence. It is a critique of the lavish life style of the recent Caliphs, with desert palaces and
extravagant mosques, and how that

For The Union Dead
What Killed the Union: For The Union Dead Analysis
Much of the human race strives to escape the sands of time as future generations will forge their
own paths and forget the great work of their relentless ancestors. No one wants to be forgotten, and
if they are, rarely ever are their works uncovered. However, when it happens, it seems as though the
whole world stops for a moment and appreciates what they have completed their work inspires the
work of future generations. As it turns out, maybe they were not forgotten after all.
Overtime, Boston s monuments have become run down and forgotten, which ultimately led Robert
Lowell to write For The Union Dead. Lowell uses strong diction, imagery, and euphemism to
display what war does to people and how great war heroes can be forgotten in the modern world
amongst the great accomplishments of the current century.
Robert Lowell was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He often implements themes of family, the past,
and the present into his poems. In his early years, he had a liking to bullying and violence towards
other children. Later on, Lowell fell into depression while attending Harvard. His psychiatrist
recommend that he take a break from the schooling. He was eventually diagnosed as a manic ...

Shaw was an officer in the Civil War who led the 54th regiment. This was the first regiment of
African American men (Hill 7:73). These men lost their lives for a country that at the time did
not see them as social equivalents, though Shaw strived to see them as such. Because of this,
Shaw earned a memorial in the heart of Boston for all to see. The memorial portrays Shaw on
horseback as his men wielding bayonet equipped rifles follow him into battle. In addition, an angel
is depicted watching guard over the soldiers as they prepare to wage war.

Goals And Value Chain Analysis Of Dunkin Donuts
Dunkin Donuts Value Chain Analysis Even though Dunkin Donuts is an international business,
each individual store has its own set of goals and missions to achieve success. This is also
known as the value chain, which is the process or activities by which a company adds value to
an article, including production, marketing, and the provision of after sales service. (Oxford)
After observing and working for Dunkin Donuts, the business success is primarily based off the
happiness of their loyal customers and smooth teamwork of their employees. This particular
Dunkin Donuts on Western Avenue in Peoria, Illinois is faced with a lot of challenges, but with
the right approach to these challenges can make their business even more successful. A mission
statement is a formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization or individual.
(Oxford) Mission statements are important in business because it can be used to determine a
company s short and long term goals. Intelligent business owners use mission statements to remind
its employees why the company exists and how the company will be or continue to be successful.
Dunkin Donuts mission and vision statement is simple. It is to deliver high quality food and
beverages quickly, affordably and conveniently in a welcoming environment. Dunkin Donuts
being a fast food chain, has been relied on by its customers to provide coffee and breakfast at a
fast pace. This is how each individual Dunkin Donuts gains and keeps customers. When the staff
are all on the same page, the business runs smoothly, and customers remain happy, resulting in
repeat customers. Word travels fast and so does the coffee, with that in mind. Keeping customers
happy and meeting their needs will keep this business striving. Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats, also known as SWOT, is apart of every business. Businesses must
embrace and adapt to SWOT in order to make them successful. This could be by taking
constructive criticism through surveys by customers or changing things based on statistics. SWOT
is how a business will either fail or prosper, and good businesses know how to use it to their
advantage. Dunkin Donuts has strengths just because of their name and

News Media Bias Essay
News media has a largely, overwhelming influence on Americans in this day and age. Over the
years, audiences have been exposed to various types of broadcast journalism, each with their own
forms of bias to generate attention towards various topics. The audience perceive bias in news
media program. An in depth analysis of bias on opinionated news compared to non opinionated
news is key to figuring out how the news mediamay be sensationalizing a problem. The apparent
goal of some American news media particularly cable news shows and talk radio is to stimulate a
problem.
According to one news source, What works in cable television news is not an objective analysis
of the day s events but hard nosed, unstinting advocacy of a specific point of view on a sizzling
hot topic . Although individuals may turn on the television to get information on current events
and issues, they are likely to get the station s detailed, bias, perspective on it instead. One
instance where this has occurred is on the Bill O Reilly Show, which airs on fox. It is claimed
that 97% of the stories mentioned on the show are a result of O Reilly s own opinions and beliefs.

emotional impression than print coverage. These impressions can remain with people for a long
time and influence their views on political issues. For many Americans, television is a primary
source of news, compared to others such as newspapers and radio. This was highly evident
between the 2000 and 2004 U.S. presidential campaigns, where the percentage of people reported
watching broadcast news dropped from 45 to 35%, whereas the percentage of people who watched

Childhood Obesity Policy Essay
One Health and Social Care Policy which I am going to critically review is the childhood obesity
policy. The 2010 2015 government policy: Obesity and Healthy Eating was updated in May 2015
and states many ways for improvements to be made. The purpose of this policy is to try to reduce
the amount of unhealthy foods children eat in the UK.
A key factor of health in later life is childhood obesity. Childhood obesity is a medical condition
where excess body fat negatively affects a child s health or well being. Medical conditions are not
the only factor which causes children to be obese it is the parental/family influences as well.
Family influences on children are a huge factor because when children are younger they eat what
the parent s eats which can determine what the child ends up eating.

saw all the graves sitting there they then heard a loud ear blistering screech it sounded like a
dying duck mixed with a cat screech. The two girls turned their backs and saw something had
closed the gate! The two girls gasped and looked at each other. Then they heard what sounded
like a million moans. look at that over AHHHHHHH!! They both screamed because they saw
zombies! Their rugged, ripped, clothes were horrid and their bloody arms and legs they had
ugly faces and popping eyes, no literally. The two girls heard some rustling in the leaves behind

Analysis Of The Movie Memoirs Of A Geisha
Both Rob Marshall and Warwick Thornton have very distinctive and different directory movie
styles. However, In memoirs of a Geisha (Directed by Rob Marshall) and Samson Delilah
(Directed by Warwick Thornton) Both Warwick and Marshall are able to communicate their ideas
of exploitation similarly through a variety of shots and film techniques. These techniques are used
in great succession and are able to capture the audienceto sympathize with these characters at their
lowest points.
A scene in Samson Delilah that truly captured the essence of exploitation in modern day Australia
was a scene where Delilah tries to sell her artwork to an Aboriginal art gallery. The character

can t help but sympathize with Delilah. My immediate thought after this occurred was Why was
Delilah dismissed so quickly? This isn t fair! which I believe Warwick Thornton wanted his
audiences to think. Warwick managed to subtly instill discomfort into his viewers by putting us
in a situation we can t help but feel uncomfortable and sympathetic in which was used in great
succession. We then switch back to where the art exhibtionist is standing and watch as Delilah
walks off emcombringly out of the shot as there is a sharp focus on her while exiting. Once
delilah has vanished out of the shot we are quickly transitioned to the next scene as we see
Delilah sitting on a hill looking off into the distance. We then transition and see two school girls
sitting on a bench. One with on her phone and the other eating ice cream. The camera than shifts
focus from these two unknown school girls to Delilah who s watching in the background. This
shot stays on Delilah for 7 seconds and I believe that this is very significant. As previously
mentioned Delilah does not look like she fits in, in fact based on her

Artists of The Impressionism Movement Essay
Impressionism was born from the urge to break free from the constraints of Art forms in the 19th
century. Many studies under mentors who passed on the traditional styles painting form and figure,
but some spoke of revolutionizing the art world. World events and public attitude toward art
allowed impressionists to break free from the mainstream French Art scene.
Impressionism was initially forged out of a love for nature. The artists were interested in depicting
reality as they saw beauty in even the mundane facets of life. The brush strokes and color changes
are obvious and the choppy effect sometimes has to be viewed at a distance to determine the
picture s message. When viewed closely, the artist s emotion is easily discernable with ... Show

After much persistence and rejection, by 1868 all of the Intransigents were displayed at the Salon.
Once they were in, they were dissatisfied with the profit driven atmosphere of the Salon and
sought to have their own exhibition. They had little success with their own exhibition and during
the Franco German war, their leader Bazille was killed in action. A young artist by Edward Degas
joined the group shortly bringing a renewed sense of passion for exhibiting their impressionist
works. The group began planning their first exhibition separate from the Salon.
The effects of the Franco Prussian war rippled throughout France years after it ended in 1871.
The government saw the need to rebuild France and sought to start by rebuilding the hopes of
the people in government through art. The Salon became the outlet for patriotic and rebuilding
themes since it was a State sponsored gallery. Many critics became aware of the problems with
this and spoke out on the lack of genius coming from French artists of that time. One critic,
Charles Blanc, compared the state sponsored gallery to a supermarket and suggested the artists
have more freedom in displaying their art. These series of events opened doors for the
Impressionists. By no accident, they displayed their own exhibition a week after Blanc s article
was published. The exhibition was held in the renowned photographer Nadar s studio and Degas

Two Colors One Land
TWO COLORS ONE LAND American Dream is a taboo for many people from different
nationalities who are pursuit of happiness. One of the former U.S presidents Bill Clinton defined
American dream as; if ones do the best that they can, all the doors will open to them in order to
reach happiness and to benefit from the opportunities. (Michael S., 2004) Throughout the world
many people day dream to be a part of American dream one day. However the missing point
which they do not know is that the expectations may be disappoint humans after they take one
slice of the big cake which is called American dream. Michael Schudson mentioned in his journal
that U.S is known as American dream for many people but indeed, U.S is not the land of
opportunities that people are assumed. When one takes one slice of the big cake he or she can
realize that the taste of the cake is not same for all races in U.S. There is a non ignorable
categorization between the races in U.S. Jefferson M. Fish defines racism: Treating people unfairly
because of their group membership . (2011) There are many advertisements that introduce U.S as
the land of opportunities and land of freedom. U.S is one of the most developed countries about
economic conditions and opportunities. There are many work streams, many opportunities that are

To Kill a Mockingbird Essay examples
Children look up to their elders for wisdom and advice. They rely on someone experienced and
with authority for guidance on how to live their lives. However, sometimes the people who are
accountable for youth mislead them; they may have good intentions, but are not mature enough to
exemplify their values and morals, or they simply are ignorant. In the novelTo Kill a Mockingbird,
Aunt Alexandra plays a negative role: she is a proper, southern lady with a strict code of
behaviour and etiquette, but is too closed minded and obstreperous to change her ways or view
the world from others perspectives. Calpurnia takes on the position of a positive role model by
disciplining the children in the Finch household. Miss Maudie takes on the role of a... Show more

less fortunate and therefore perceived as repugnant and unfit to be her niece s playmate.
...you can scrub Walter Cunningham till he shines, you can put him in shoes and a suit, but he ll
never be like Jem...Because he is trash. (Lee, 224 225).
These words indicate not only a vituperative nature, but arrogance and obstinacy. She believes white
people are better than black people. She refuses to consider anything positive about people she
finds reprehensible; she is steadfast on her opinions about people and would rather not get to know
them. She is also quite domineering and officious; she often meddles with Atticus fatherly role:
...it s bad enough he lets you all run wild... (Lee, 83), Aunt Alexandra put him up to this... (Lee,
134).
This grandiloquence is a manifestation of hypocrisy in the novel because her behaviour towards
others is atrocious, yet she expects the best manners from Scout. Calpurnia is a much more
positive caregiver, as she is a strict disciplinarian, but to a lesser degree than Aunt Alexandra.
Likewise she is not a hypocrite; she could comment on the ways of white people because she has
been raised in a white environment.

Calpurnia disciplines Scout Finch is when she takes Scout into the kitchen after she complains that

USEFULNESS OF THE BALANCE SHEET

Liquidity era tio ns
How quickly will my assets convert to cash?
By providing information on assets, liabilities, and stockholders equity, the balance sheet provides
a basis for computing rates of return and evaluating the capital structure of the enterprise. As our
opening story indicates, analysts also use information in the balance sheet to assess a company s
risk2 and future cash flows. In this regard, analysts use the balance sheet to assess a company s
liquidity, solvency, and financial flexibility. Liquidity describes the amount of time that is expected
to elapse until an asset is realized or otherwise converted into cash or until a liability has to be
paid. 3 Creditors are interested in short term liquidity ratios, such as the ratio of cash (or near cash)
to short term liabilities. These ratios indicate whether a company, like Amazon, will have the
resources to pay its current and maturing obligations. Similarly, stockholders assess liquidity to
evaluate the possibility of future cash dividends or the buyback of shares. In general, the greater
Amazon s liquidity, the lower its risk of failure.

Key Stakeholders
With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses.
However, they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between
businesses and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010),
In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government
agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s
product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30).
Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder
group, the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders
are likely to shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the
public. The key stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and
shareholders. The stakeholder model of corporate social responsibility considers obligations firms
may face as moral agents to employees, customers and other stakeholders. Most employees rely on
their employer to provide some type of health care benefits because most cannot afford health

(Babbitt, 2007), (Dedekorkut 2003) Both the federal and state agencies, along the American people

as Babbitt points out, is an example of a national commitment to large scale restoration of degraded
ecosystems (Babbitt 2007). However , currently, both the public and the political culture rely
heavily on natural resource science for answers the many phenomena that exist in water resource
policy. Traditional laws such as the Clean Water Act sets precedent regarding the nature of
pollutants and navigable water flows. The South Florida Water Management District decision to
dump these phosphorus pollutants into the Okeechobee River without the proper permission, is an
example of existing laws impacting state activities when it comes to water management. The
Everglades restoration project, which established to clean up ecosystems and waterways for both
current and future generations, has encountered many difficulties stemming from either damage
that has been done to the environment was in a fact a result of mother nature, or a result from the

Cognitive Load Induced by Design Elements of the Ribbon Model of Proteins
Problem Statement Student achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM) courses despite its importance in developing a generation of interdependent, innovative,
and responsible leaders is often difficult to accomplish (Abbas, 2017). Chemistry and biochemistry
departments experience this dilemma firsthand; much of the curriculum relies on students
successful comprehension of visual representations of concepts, such as three dimensional models
(Mnguni, Schönborn, Anderson, 2016). This is hindered by both the intrinsic complexity of
biomolecular structures and the comprehension ability of individuals (Mnguni et al., 2016). If the ...

The ribbon model, adopted by Jane Richardson in 1979, offers a suitable subject of analysis in this
study due to its intricacy (suggesting a measurable amount of cognitive load) and its relatively
universal usage across the biochemical community (Morange, 2011). It displays a protein s
secondary structure as determined by algorithms, and includes shapes (alpha helixes and beta
pleated sheets, for example), the spatial arrangement of the protein (i.e. depth of its components),
and labels (Turnbough Martos, 2013). These features serve as viable aspects to test experimentally
and compare in terms of cognitive load imposed on those that examine and attempt to understand
the ribbon model. Although limited to a 13 week experience at Kennesaw State University, this
exploratory, quasi experimental investigation contributes to a broader study (funded by a grant)
and provides a basis for methods of examining the relationship between 3D models and cognitive
load. The independent variable is the different aspects of the ribbon model viewed (arrangement,
shapes, and labels) and the dependent variable is the amount of cognitive load induced, measured
by the magnitude of ERS (found using a Biosemi electrode cap, amplifier, and the software
sLORETA). Volunteers are recruited from undergraduate science majors as they are most likely

The definition of Pica is a term that is refers to ingesting, cravings or argues of substances that are
not foods items. Some of the most common items indigested by patients with pica are dirt, sand,
clay, glue, ice, chalk, beeswax, hair, and laundry starch. The reason for patients having this
cravings is because the patient is diagnosed with a nutritional deficiency state, such as iron

a neurotransmitter; a chemical that helps to relay the transmission of nerve impulses from one

a connection between abnormal low levels of dopamine in the brain and develop picadisorder. No

August 26, 2016, the first day Colin Kaepernick takes a knee during the National Anthem in a
pre season NFL game. Once people found out what he did, the country went crazy and people
starting taking sides immediately. Some think he should never be seen again, while others truly
supported him for the message he was trying to put out there. Once more players started taking a
knee or raising their fist in the air, the question came about whether college athletes or even high
school athletes should have the right to do the same. Technically they do have the right because
of the first amendment, but would that really show a good message to the fans of the team, your
teammates, or even your coach. What Kaepernick started is one of the biggest controversies our
country has had in a long time and I believe that we as people should not interfere with a situation
that doesn t involve us. Today it seems like people forget the reasoning behind Kaepernick taking
a knee because of why athletes are doing it in the present day. First of all, before Kaepernick even
started kneelingduring the Anthem, he sat on the benchduring the first pre season game of the
2016 season and no one even noticed. Wouldn t that be considered more disrespectful than
kneeling which use to be a sign of respect? The reason he started doing it was to help the Black

Macbeth Research Paper When studying literature or reading a play, our attention is drawn to the
protagonist or antagonist. Shakespeare directs our attention onto heroism, which can be seen across
all of his plays like Macbeth or Julius Caesar. The protagonists Macbeth and Banquo conquer the
evils that face them throughout the plot. However, the nature of violence that takes place
throughout Shakespeare s plays is in relation to the source of the killing of the soul (Macbeth and
the Nature of Evil). In Macbeth, Macbeth is known as a superhuman warrior, the characteristics of
being brave and having ambition. The main reason evil stirs up violence can be seen as examples
in Macbeth and Julius Caesar, which is caused by evil being incompatible with humanity
(Shakespeare s Play Themes). The murders in Macbeth and Julius Caesar are both examples of
the rotation of the natural order. The killing of King Duncan in Macbeth is a prime example
how evil and violence is shown into a comparison into Julius Caesar. Shakespeare uses a
common theme in all plays that all relates back to reality (The Killing of King Duncan).
Shakespeare also uses the literary device of repetition to create a theme (The Killing of King
Duncan). In Macbeth the word blood is repeated due to creating the theme and the word blood
allows the readers to remember that evil is a result to violence and anger. Blood is also

Hesitanity In Hamlet
In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet does not succeed to the throne after his father s death, but if he
had would he have been a good king? Due to the fact that he was highly educated and clearly
controls the people s perception of him very well he would have made a very competent king of
Denmark. The one factor holding him back from being the perfect king are his wild emotions about
his father s death and mother s quick mariage. Hamlethas been well educated and Shakespeare
makes it a point that we know that, mentioning the university of Wittenberg at which Hamlet
studied multiple times in act 1 scene 2. There is no doubt that Wittenberg was a respected school in
northern Europe. Wittenberg is also significant as it is the university in which Martin Luther taught.

factions present that are seeking their own foothold in the country s struggle over power.
However, this was not always the case and an examination will take place into weather the conflict

Therefore, it is important to identify the learner s perception, interpretation and response to the
social situation in which they are learning. This can be particularly important in the health care
environment. Learning and behavior occur because of the interaction of environmental and
cognitive factors occurring within a social context by observation, imitation, and modeling the
behaviors, attitudes and emotional reactions of others (Abbott, 2007; Ormrod, 1999). Bandura
(1977) uses a four step approach when implementing learning consisting of four phases: Attentional
, Retention, Reproduction, and Motivational. The attentional phase is when the learner observes
the role model. The processing and memorization of the observations takes place in the retention
phase. The learner performs the learned action or behavior in the reproduction phase. Lastly, the
motivation phase focuses on the learner s motivation to perform the behavior depending on their
perception of reward or punishment as a consequence. This is known as vicarious reinforcement
(Bastable , 2008).

The cost of the project is directly proportional to the accuracy and the features to be extracted
from the point cloud. Therefore, with an equipment like MMS with high accuracy, the building
can be built cost effectively and there will be no wastage of money. Secondly, the MMS
provides a rich dataset with a very high data density for close range acquisition. However, there
are a few factors which make the densities to vary significantly, such as, the driving speed during
acquisition, distance from the laser to surface reflecting the laser s energy and the laser
repetition rate. MMS is also capable of getting very high point densities of 5000 point per square
meter near the driven path. Hence, even a very small feature along the road is also possible to be
recognized and positioned at such high densities. Not only that, the lasers also provide a true 360
degree coverage, allowing the accurate location of both ground based and aerial features.
The MMS does not only contribute to the construction of buildings. MMS can also be adapted to
several different project data requirements. Transportation engineering projects such as railway,

The Role Of Media And Its Effect On The Nature Of Information
The Role of Media
Media is the main means of mass communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the internet)
regarded as collectively (The Oxford Dictionary). It brings information readily; thus, play an
important role in our society. Although vital arteries of information, these media have built in
biases that distort the facts (Lewis, 2007, p.267).
Media is affected by a number of factors that affect the nature of information received. These
include but not limited to constraints of space and time, market share, advertisers, private
ownership, recognizing bias, and the internet. As a result, media can be deceptive. These are
examples of why media can be deceptive: ownership, advertising, official sources, flak, and

So, filmmaker Mark Achbar asks, what type of person would a corporation be? The evidence,
according to such political activists as Noam Chomsky and filmmaker Michael Moore and
company heads like carpet magnate Ray Anderson, points to a bad one, as the film aims to expose
IBM s Nazi ties and these large businesses exploitation of human rights .
The argument of this film is that the corporation is considered a legal person with no conscience and
is assigned attributes that suggest that it has a psychopathic nature. This assertion was confirmed
when the corporation exhibits all of the characteristics of a psychopath. According to the
documentary, these traits include:
Callous unconcern for the feelings of others.
Incapacity to maintain enduring relations.
Reckless disregard for the safety of others.
Deceitfulness: repeated lying and conning others for profit.
Incapacity to experience guilt.
Failure to comply with social norms with respect to lawful behaviours. (approx. 18 40 min)
The extent to which the validity of the argument emerge is displayed by the corporation when it
display self interested, deceitful, and willing to break the law to get its way; unable to feel guilt,
and yet able to mimic caring and altruism (approx. 40 42 min; Yamey, 2004, para. 7). The
corporation is viewed as a monster and is a result of modern capitalist. The film does not suggest
that the

Essay On Bone Repair
Trelles et al.1 examined the characteristics of bone repair using low energy laser after bone
fracture fractures in the tibia of mice. histologically via controlling its reparation after exposure
to 632 nm laser in doses of 2.4 Joules in one point was used. The radiation was directly applied to
the area of fracture through the application of 12 treatments , they used a single treatment every
second day, by optic microscope they observed, in the treated animals, a drastic increase in
vascularisation and faster formation of osseous tissue with a dense trabecular net compared to the

no differences from the non irradiated control side were seen. No significant difference was seen in
the amount of tooth movement between the irradiated and non irradiated group.
Asnaashari et al 5 evaluated the Reduction of pain while Using Low Level Laser Irradiation in
Single Visit root canal patients randomly received either LLLT ,or placebo laser after the
completion of root canal treatment for their first permanent upper or lower molars. In the laser
group, the patients received a single dose of low level laser for 80 second per tooth. Post
treatment pain intensity was recorded using the basic Mc Gill questionnaire and a Visial
analogue pain rating scale at 4, 8, 12, 24, and 48 hours. Visual analogue scale is a 10 cm line
scale with no pain at one end, and worst pain imaginable at the other end. they concluded thatthe
significant pain reduction in LLLT group at 4, 8, 12, and 48 hours after root canal treatment,
LLLT seems to be an effective and non pharmacological approach for the reducing post operative
endodontic pain. Anaashari et al 6 presented a case presentation on the Diode Laser and Low

The Importance of Giving Back to My Community Essay
Many people do not care about where they come from. Many people are selfish with their time
and effort, but not me I do care about where I came from and I devote most of my time and effort
to make many people happy. I try my hardest to do the right thing and to give back when I know
I should. Giving back to my community is an important thing to me. People should care and
protect about their communities. Three reasons why giving back to my community is important
to me is because my community has done so much for me, I take so much pride in where I am
from, and because I want people to see how wonderful my community is. My community has done
so much for me. Giving back to my community is the least I could do for what all it has done for...

To look at the mass of woodland and the Emory River is a sight that will take your breath away.
Oakdale is full of so much history its unbelievable. Looking at the old building structures is just
enough to show how much history Oakdale has hiding. This is one reason why giving back to
my community is important to me. I want to keep my community beautiful and I want everyone
to know just how marvelous Oakdale really is. One other reason, is because I want tourists and
anyone visiting my community to feel humble and welcome. I want the best for my community.
Whenever someone comes to visit, I want them to be amazed by my community, and I want
them to see what I see and feel what I feel about my community. By giving back to my
community, I can make sure that it stays a clean, safe, and an enjoyable place to be. I do not
want anyone to leave Oakdale and say anything negative about how bad the community was. By
my contribution I hope that I can make everyone a little happier. I dislike graffiti or anything of
the sorts and if I see any I make my best effort to cover it up. Liter is another thing that I can not
tolerate; I will get rid of it if I see it, because I want my community to look its best at all times. In
conclusion, giving back to my community is very important to me. The main reasons why giving

The Melting Point And Boiling Point
Results The results show that the highest melting point was 4 Hydroxybenzoic Acid and the lowest
melting point was Sulfosalicylic Acid. The highest boiling point was Octanol and lowest boiling
point was Methanol. When it came to the percent error the highest percent error calculated was
pentanol and the lowest percent error was Propanol.
Discussion
During this lab the melting point ranges and boiling points were recorded from several
substances. Based upon the structures of these various samples certain trends were expected to
be followed. For example, with the melting points of pure substances are usually higher than the
melting points of impure substances. In this lab the melting point of Benzoic Acid, Salicylic
Acid, 3 Hydroxybenzoic Acid, 4 Hydroxybenzoic Acid, and Sulfosalicylic Acid were taken. If we
apply the concept of pure substances having higher boiling points, it was expected for substances
like 3 Hydroxybenzoic Acid and 4 Hydroxybenzoic Acid to have higher melting points and for
substances like Benzoic Acid and Salicylic Acid to have lower melting points. As for Sulfosalicylic
Acid, its melting point was the lowest so it was assumed that the substance was the most impure. It
was proven that the fewer impurities call for higher melting points. This is due to the crystalline
lattices structure of repeating ions or molecules. This lattice is held together by intermolecular
forces that create a strong, stable structure. The solid must be heated to a certain

The Blocker Burn Unit At The University Of Texas Medical...
Introduction The Blocker Burn Unit is a six bed Burn Intensive Care Unit located at the
University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. It has a long and storied history of
providing innovative burn care to its patients. The Burn unit was initially founded after a massive
explosion in Texas City Harbor that injured hundreds of people in 1944. Since inception, the unit
has dealt with disaster both fabricated and natural. In 2008, the BBU was one of only a handful
of services to remain open and operational after Hurricane Ike landed and dealt massive injury to
UTMB. The BBU not only sustained operations but also briefly expanded to provide pediatric burn
care when Shriners Burns Hospitalwas subsequently unable to reopen post hurricane. This paper
will detail the realities confronted by the BBU both currently, and in the future, with an exploration
as to those implications on fiscal outlook and provision of care.
Current Realities of the Blocker Burn Unit (BBU)
Burn Care Hospitals The American Burn Association (ABA) is the accrediting body for burn
centers in the United States. Currently the number of ABA verified centers listed is 64. Other ABA

The Morality Of General Sherman
The Morality of General Sherman s March to the Sea
William Tecumseh Sherman was one of eleven children born to a distinguished Ohio family.
Sherman was orphaned at a young age and was enrolled in the United States Military Academy
by his legal guardian, Senator Thomas Ewing. He graduated sixth in his class, but never saw
extensive action on the battlefield. He tried other professions for a few years, but the outbreak of
the Civil War called him back into service. During the early years of the war he served in the
battles of Bull Run, Ft. Donelson, Shiloh and Vicksburg, and slowly moved up the chain of
command. Following his successful capture of Jackson, Mississippi, Sherman was promoted to
Commander of the Western Theatre, by his boss and friend, General Ulysses S. Grant. It was after
this promotion that Sherman set out for the Southern industrial hub of Atlanta and soon after began
the famous March to the Sea ( William T. Sherman. ). This march, from Atlanta to Savannah, was
about two hundred and eighty five miles long and lasted for about three weeks. Sherman s men
stole food and livestock, burned houses and barns, and attempted to scare the state of Georgia into
surrender and collapse the Confederate war effort. During this time, Sherman and his men
encountered little resistance. The only battle was a small skirmish outside the town of
Griswoldsville that the Union won handily. After this failure, the Confederates began to retreat and
initiated a scorched earth policy.

Non Polar Amino Acid Chromatography Paper
Hypothesis: If a polar amino acid is adsorbed by a polar matrix, then the polar matrix will not move
as far along the matrix as a hydrophobic amino acid. If this is so, the Rf value of a polar amino acid
will be relatively small to that of a non polar amino acid.
Introduction: In order to identify whether an amino acid is polar (hydrophilic) or non polar
(hydrophobic), the process of chromatography is used, which separates the amino acids and
identifies them based on specific chemical traits given by the R groups. The process is preformed
by placing spots of the sample(s) on the origin of a matrix, or chromatography paper, letting it dry,
then placing the edge of the paper with the samples on it into a solvent (in this lab, it was alcohol).

The Importance Of Plagiarism In College Students
In short: Don t do it. But in truth, that is not good enough.
I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college
students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If
you are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you.
You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of
college or having a mark on your high school record.
1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two
students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and
kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the
plagiarizer.
2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something
(by matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly
obvious to the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always
spotted immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to
you (like House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet.
Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your
grade. Just don t do it.

Slap Tear
SLAP Lesion Tear
A SLAP lesion tear is an injury to the shoulder. This can cause painful symptoms and difficulty
with overhead activities whether they be athletic or those of daily living. In 1985, Andrews et al
were the first to describe the superior labrum tear. In their experience, they identified tears of the
labrum from throwing athletes located anterosuperor near the origin of the bicep tendon. The
cause of the lesion to tear was the bicep tendon being pulled off the labrum from the force
generated during the throwing motion. As time went on, the labral tears got categorized into four
different types of classifications called SLAP lesions by Snyder in 1990. A SLAP lesion, as
described by Snyder involves tears of the superior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SLAP lesion can develop due to the repetitive forces of the throwing motion. Athletes that are
involved in overhead activities tend to develop a struggle in glenohumeral internal rotation. Both
internal impingement and peel back mechanisms can cause that to happen.
Walch et al first described the internal impingement as an intraarticular impingement of the rotator
cuff in the abducted and externally rotated shoulder. With 90 degrees of both abduction and external
rotation, the articular surface of the posterior superior rotator cuff becomes pinched between the
labrum and the greater tuberosity.5 The authors separated the labral lesions from SLAP lesions
which extended anteriorly to the biceps anchor at the supraglenoid tubercle, concluding that internal
impingement may be responsible for a subset of patients with isolated posterior SLAP tears.5
Burkhart et. al presented the peel back (posterior superior) mechanism that causes SLAP lesions.
The peel back has its origin in a biceps vector change in the position of abduction and external
rotation resulting in torsional forces to the labra bicipital complex.6 Once the posterior superior
labrum gets fatigued, it will start to rotate medially over the upper rim of the glenoid. This could
happen in a late cocking position of

20th Century Western Development
The role of the federal government in the formation of the modern West, holds to a wide range of
factors. The role of the government remained small in until the beginning of the 20th century, but
later in history, its reach became far more apparent and noticeable. An understanding of the
foundations of settlement in the West is important to address. The basics of in these foundations, in
modern urbanization, are influential to the direct role the government plays in the lands to the
West. In this discussion, I will examine some of the major contributions in which federal
government involvement was apparent in the West. Mainly, how the Western land was used in the
form of reformation by the federal government. Moreover, how using the water resources... Show

п‚· What are the differences among valuation, depreciation, amortization, and depletion? Is it
appropriate to calculate depreciation using two different methods? Why?
п‚· Which depreciation method provides you the highest depreciation expense in the first year?
Why?
Valuation refers to the asset being recorded and disclosed at current market price regardless of
whether that price is above or below cost. Depreciation is the allocation of the cost of a plant asset
to expense over its useful or service life in a rational and systematic manner. There are three
methods that can be used for depreciation and a company must pick which method they want to use

When the contractual interest rate and the market interest rate are the same, the bonds are sold at
face value. But when the contractual interest rate and the market interest rates differ then the
bonds are usually sold below or above face value. If the market rate of interest is lower than the
contractual interest rate then the investors will have to pay more than the face value for the
bonds (premium). When a company issues 12% bonds at a time when other bonds of similar risk
are paying 15%. Most investors will be more interested in buying the 12% bonds and their value
will fall below their face value, which is called selling at a discount.
A company should comply with the matching principle, which shows that bond discounts should be
allocated systematically to each accounting period benefiting from the use of cash proceeds. The
straight line method of amortization of bond discount allocates the same amount to interest expense
each interest period. By using this formula: Bond Discount divided by Number of Interest Periods
equals Bond Discount Amortization.
Amy did a good job explaining the contractual rate which is the rate in which the interest payments
are calculated. How do we gauge our return on our investment, what comprises that rate, and what
can affect that/

  • 2. Florida Hospital And The United States Florida Hospital has grown to be one of the largest healthcare providers in the United States. Impressively, Florida Hospital had a very humble beginning and a modest growth. In 1908, a small group of Seventh Day Adventists in Orlando developed their vision of bringing health care to the area. As part of their philanthropy, they were able to raise the funds necessary to purchase Florida Hospitals first facility near Lake Estelle. It was a two story farmhouse that had a wraparound porch and had once served those needing treatment for tuberculosis. The facility had the capacity to care for 20 patients at any given time. During the 1950s, Florida Hospital transformed its two story farm house to a structure that was able to care for 160 patients. They were able to make improvements to the facility, such as air conditioning, that allowed for year round care to patients. With each purchase of new facilities in the decades to follow, Florida Hospital has grown to over 20 hospitals large, providing services to many people who live in Central Florida and the surrounding areas. This has allowed the network to include many leaders in their respective fields to offer care to patients in many different specialized areas. The mission of Florida Hospital was developed with inspiration from the study of scripture. Since the founders of Florida Hospital, the Seventh day Adventist Church, were faith based, the mission became to extend the healing ministry of Christ. This mission drives ... • 3. The North Coast And Gulf Coast Of Florida There were a total of 48 counties that were studied along the Gulf Coast. These counties were used as the regions for how each state was subdivided. The coastal regions were made of 22 regions in Florida, 2 regions in Alabama, 3 regions in Mississippi, 9 regions in Louisiana, and 12 regions in Texas. When the entire coastline of Floridawas studied, Florida has 1,350 miles of coastline. There are 35 counties that are along the coastline of Florida. One additional county was used that is not along the coastline as there was a shark bite at a Disney park. Larger counties were subdivided for a total of 55 regions; this is similar to the previous research conducted by Amin, Ritter and Kennedy (2012) [1]. The East Coast and Gulf Coast of... The p value again is greater than alpha of 0.05, and it is concluded that there is an equal chance of being bitten by a shark across all regions. Another purely spatial analysis was run to scan for clusters with low risk rates with a maximum window size set to 50% as before. The resulting cluster was made of the counties of the northern most part of Texas, all of the coastal counties of Louisiana and Mississippi and the most western county in Alabama, which in Figure 9 12 is represented by regions 57 71. There is a relative risk of 0 and a p value of 0.000016 (see Figure 8). Since the p value of 0.000016 is less than alpha of 0.05, the null hypothesis that there is an equal chance of being bitten by a shark is rejected; it can be concluded that there is a lower risk in this region than all other regions studied as represented in Figures 9 12. When the retrospective space time analysis is run in SaTScanTM for high rates, produced four clusters, but none of the p values are less than alpha at 0.05. It appears that from 2004 to 2005, the risk of being bitten by a shark was heightened, and there is a relative risk of 22.46 (see Figure 13). When scanning for low rates, there was a relative risk of 0 from the coast of eastern Louisiana to the central part of the Gulf Coast of Florida for 1994 to 1998 (see Figure 14). • 4. Gender Roles In Argentine Tango And The Music Of Native... There are hundreds, even thousands of styles music and each style from each place has its own set of beliefs and traditions. A common tradition and theme in music is the role of men and women and how each gender is perceived or included in a tradition. Tango is an example of this; men are supposed to be a strong, masculine, even virile figure who lead the effeminate, submissive female partner. Another example of genderroles in musicis in the musics of Native Americans and First Nation people where traditionally only men were able to play the drums in the middle of the circle at large gatherings such as powwows. There are several other instances our class discussed in which gender roles helped define a musical tradition, but this short essay will focus primarily on gender roles within the Argentine tango and the music of Native Americans and First Nation people. ... This idea stems from the mythic figure at the center of tango known as the compadrito who is supposed to be the urban version of the Argentine cowboy known as a gaucho. The male dancer in tango is typically a flashy dresser who stands tall and has a cer5tain machismo about him. The dance style of tango is supposed to display traditional gender roles of men and women and the man in the dance is typically leading the women who is supposedly in need of a strong man and is dressed in a way to exhibit her natural sexuality. The idea of a male within tango has shifted somewhat due to Carlos Gardel who helped spread tango globally in the early 21st century. • 5. Piety And Its Role As Powerful Positions During The Period... Piety and its Role in Powerful Positions During the period of early Arab conquests, massive transformations were taking place as a new great confessional empire was emerging. During this time many conflicts and questions arose. Who is the rightful Caliph once the prophet Muhammad dies? What makes a good Caliph? What is to be done with the non Muslims? What does it mean to be a Muslim? One of the major themes that arose from these questions was the importance of being pious when holding some form of power, whether political or military. Primary sources demonstrate how this theme has come to fruition, such as in a letter to the Caliph Umar II, and Tabari s The History of Prophet s and Kings. The letter to Caliph Umar II is important in developing the role of religious devotion in connection to holding power because it starts to question what exactly the role of the Caliph is. It seems by this letter that the role of the Caliph is not just to be a political head for the conquered land of the Caliphate, but they also need to be a religious leader as well. An important part of being that religious head is being pious, to demonstrate to others how to fully become devout and submit to God. The writer, Hasan al Basri, in this letter is asking the Caliph to do away with luxury and go back to the simpler times because it is dangerous to dally in decadence. It is a critique of the lavish life style of the recent Caliphs, with desert palaces and extravagant mosques, and how that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. For The Union Dead What Killed the Union: For The Union Dead Analysis Much of the human race strives to escape the sands of time as future generations will forge their own paths and forget the great work of their relentless ancestors. No one wants to be forgotten, and if they are, rarely ever are their works uncovered. However, when it happens, it seems as though the whole world stops for a moment and appreciates what they have completed their work inspires the work of future generations. As it turns out, maybe they were not forgotten after all. Overtime, Boston s monuments have become run down and forgotten, which ultimately led Robert Lowell to write For The Union Dead. Lowell uses strong diction, imagery, and euphemism to display what war does to people and how great war heroes can be forgotten in the modern world amongst the great accomplishments of the current century. Robert Lowell was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He often implements themes of family, the past, and the present into his poems. In his early years, he had a liking to bullying and violence towards other children. Later on, Lowell fell into depression while attending Harvard. Over the years, audiences have been exposed to various types of broadcast journalism, each with their own forms of bias to generate attention towards various topics. The audience perceive bias in news media program. An in depth analysis of bias on opinionated news compared to non opinionated news is key to figuring out how the news mediamay be sensationalizing a problem. The apparent goal of some American news media particularly cable news shows and talk radio is to stimulate a problem. According to one news source, What works in cable television news is not an objective analysis of the day s events but hard nosed, unstinting advocacy of a specific point of view on a sizzling hot topic . Although individuals may turn on the television to get information on current events and issues, they are likely to get the station s detailed, bias, perspective on it instead. A young artist by Edward Degas joined the group shortly bringing a renewed sense of passion for exhibiting their impressionist works. The group began planning their first exhibition separate from the Salon. The effects of the Franco Prussian war rippled throughout France years after it ended in 1871. The government saw the need to rebuild France and sought to start by rebuilding the hopes of the people in government through art. The Salon became the outlet for patriotic and rebuilding themes since it was a State sponsored gallery. Many critics became aware of the problems with this and spoke out on the lack of genius coming from French artists of that time. One critic, Charles Blanc, compared the state sponsored gallery to a supermarket and suggested the artists have more freedom in displaying their art. In this regard, analysts use the balance sheet to assess a company s liquidity, solvency, and financial flexibility. Liquidity describes the amount of time that is expected to elapse until an asset is realized or otherwise converted into cash or until a liability has to be paid. 3 Creditors are interested in short term liquidity ratios, such as the ratio of cash (or near cash) to short term liabilities. • 27. William Shakespeare s Macbeth Essay Irene Pantazis Mr. Dudley Pr Ap English III 4 December, 2015 Macbeth Research Paper When studying literature or reading a play, our attention is drawn to the protagonist or antagonist. Shakespeare directs our attention onto heroism, which can be seen across all of his plays like Macbeth or Julius Caesar. The protagonists Macbeth and Banquo conquer the evils that face them throughout the plot. However, the nature of violence that takes place throughout Shakespeare s plays is in relation to the source of the killing of the soul (Macbeth and the Nature of Evil). In Macbeth, Macbeth is known as a superhuman warrior, the characteristics of being brave and having ambition. The main reason evil stirs up violence can be seen as examples in Macbeth and Julius Caesar, which is caused by evil being incompatible with humanity (Shakespeare s Play Themes). The murders in Macbeth and Julius Caesar are both examples of the rotation of the natural order. The killing of King Duncan in Macbeth is a prime example how evil and violence is shown into a comparison into Julius Caesar. Shakespeare uses a common theme in all plays that all relates back to reality (The Killing of King Duncan). Shakespeare also uses the literary device of repetition to create a theme (The Killing of King Duncan). In Macbeth the word blood is repeated due to creating the theme and the word blood allows the readers to remember that evil is a result to violence and anger. Blood is also ... The Syrian Uprising is an ongoing armed conflict in Syria between forces loyal to the Ba ath government and those seeking to oust its regime. The conflict has many complex entities with factions present that are seeking their own foothold in the country s struggle over power. However, this was not always the case and an examination will take place into weather the conflict can be defined as either a civil war, an insurgency or a proxy conflict. The definition of the type of conflict is relevant as it is critical to whether or not intervention is necessary and how states may go about it, for instance, the laws of war are different from the laws of armed protests. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, it is important to identify the learner s perception, interpretation and response to the social situation in which they are learning. This can be particularly important in the health care environment. Learning and behavior occur because of the interaction of environmental and cognitive factors occurring within a social context by observation, imitation, and modeling the behaviors, attitudes and emotional reactions of others (Abbott, 2007; Ormrod, 1999). Bandura (1977) uses a four step approach when implementing learning consisting of four phases: Attentional , Retention, Reproduction, and Motivational. The attentional phase is when the learner observes the role model. The processing and memorization of the observations takes place in the retention phase. The learner performs the learned action or behavior in the reproduction phase. Lastly, the motivation phase focuses on the learner s motivation to perform the behavior depending on their perception of reward or punishment as a consequence. This is known as vicarious reinforcement (Bastable , 2008). However, there are a few factors which make the densities to vary significantly, such as, the driving speed during acquisition, distance from the laser to surface reflecting the laser s energy and the laser repetition rate. MMS is also capable of getting very high point densities of 5000 point per square meter near the driven path. Hence, even a very small feature along the road is also possible to be recognized and positioned at such high densities. The highest boiling point was Octanol and lowest boiling point was Methanol. When it came to the percent error the highest percent error calculated was pentanol and the lowest percent error was Propanol. Discussion During this lab the melting point ranges and boiling points were recorded from several substances. Based upon the structures of these various samples certain trends were expected to be followed. For example, with the melting points of pure substances are usually higher than the melting points of impure substances. In this lab the melting point of Benzoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, 3 Hydroxybenzoic Acid, 4 Hydroxybenzoic Acid, and Sulfosalicylic Acid were taken. If we apply the concept of pure substances having higher boiling points, it was expected for substances like 3 Hydroxybenzoic Acid and 4 Hydroxybenzoic Acid to have higher melting points and for substances like Benzoic Acid and Salicylic Acid to have lower melting points. As for Sulfosalicylic Acid, its melting point was the lowest so it was assumed that the substance was the most impure. It was proven that the fewer impurities call for higher melting points. Sherman was orphaned at a young age and was enrolled in the United States Military Academy by his legal guardian, Senator Thomas Ewing. He graduated sixth in his class, but never saw extensive action on the battlefield. He tried other professions for a few years, but the outbreak of the Civil War called him back into service. During the early years of the war he served in the battles of Bull Run, Ft. Donelson, Shiloh and Vicksburg, and slowly moved up the chain of command. Following his successful capture of Jackson, Mississippi, Sherman was promoted to Commander of the Western Theatre, by his boss and friend, General Ulysses S. Grant. It was after this promotion that Sherman set out for the Southern industrial hub of Atlanta and soon after began the famous March to the Sea ( William T. Sherman. ). This march, from Atlanta to Savannah, was about two hundred and eighty five miles long and lasted for about three weeks. Sherman s men stole food and livestock, burned houses and barns, and attempted to scare the state of Georgia into surrender and collapse the Confederate war effort. During this time, Sherman and his men encountered little resistance. The only battle was a small skirmish outside the town of Griswoldsville that the Union won handily. I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If you are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you. You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of college or having a mark on your high school record. 1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the plagiarizer. 2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something (by matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly obvious to the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always spotted immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to you (like House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet. Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your grade. Just don t do it. ________________________________ Check out our new science podcast, Ikonokast. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cause of the lesion to tear was the bicep tendon being pulled off the labrum from the force generated during the throwing motion. As time went on, the labral tears got categorized into four different types of classifications called SLAP lesions by Snyder in 1990. A SLAP lesion, as described by Snyder involves tears of the superior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... SLAP lesion can develop due to the repetitive forces of the throwing motion. Athletes that are involved in overhead activities tend to develop a struggle in glenohumeral internal rotation. Both internal impingement and peel back mechanisms can cause that to happen. Walch et al first described the internal impingement as an intraarticular impingement of the rotator cuff in the abducted and externally rotated shoulder. With 90 degrees of both abduction and external rotation, the articular surface of the posterior superior rotator cuff becomes pinched between the labrum and the greater tuberosity.5 The authors separated the labral lesions from SLAP lesions which extended anteriorly to the biceps anchor at the supraglenoid tubercle, concluding that internal impingement may be responsible for a subset of patients with isolated posterior SLAP tears.5 Burkhart et. al presented the peel back (posterior superior) mechanism that causes SLAP lesions. The peel back has its origin in a biceps vector change in the position of abduction and external rotation resulting in torsional forces to the labra bicipital complex.6 Once the posterior superior labrum gets fatigued, it will start to rotate medially over the upper rim of the glenoid. This could happen in a late cocking position of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the contractual interest rate and the market interest rate are the same, the bonds are sold at face value. But when the contractual interest rate and the market interest rates differ then the bonds are usually sold below or above face value. If the market rate of interest is lower than the contractual interest rate then the investors will have to pay more than the face value for the bonds (premium). When a company issues 12% bonds at a time when other bonds of similar risk are paying 15%. Most investors will be more interested in buying the 12% bonds and their value will fall below their face value, which is called selling at a discount. A company should comply with the matching principle, which shows that bond discounts should be allocated systematically to each accounting period benefiting from the use of cash proceeds. The straight line method of amortization of bond discount allocates the same amount to interest expense each interest period. By using this formula: Bond Discount divided by Number of Interest Periods equals Bond Discount Amortization. Amy did a good job explaining the contractual rate which is the rate in which the interest payments are calculated.
