Criminal Justice Court Observation
I observed court operations at the Plantation Key Government Center in Tavernier, Florida twice: on
October 7th and November 4th. I observed Chief Circuit Judge Carlos Garcia in courtroom A. The
courthouse is located in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida and it s a state trial court with general
jurisdiction. The first visit was cut short, in part because it was a lighter criminal day than planned, but
also I was flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism that was present in the Florida Keys
courtroom. I m not sure if it s a court in Paradise problem, or something that is observed at other
courtrooms, however, I m disappointed in what I saw. Lack of professionalism was evident during
both visits from the actors and their actions. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They seemed laid back and like they were conversing amongst friends. I m not requesting duels
between the state and defense attorneys, but don t let the defense attorneys waste your time. It was
clear that the State was fairly prepared, at least enough to move on from preliminary hearings into
discovery, yet the state would grant continuances to February of 2015. I think it s great that it s not a
hyper competitive environment, but business still needs to get done. I believe to a certain extent, they
did defend their clients, I feel more zest could have been used, but my standard might be
unrealistically high. Judge Garcia came into court, well prepared, he knew the cases better than the
attorneys, and he was active. He had a very expressive face, and it was clear from his body language,
at times he felt frustrated or disinterested. I feel it was more from, being a former Assistant State
Attorney and the state not necessarily posing the best offense. I feel that many of the issues could have
moved on to the next step in the criminal process. For the cases that were resolved there on the spot,
Mr. Edwards was happy with his outcome Ms. Denum was upset, but not necessarily because of the
outcome. During the first visit, we were still early into the class readings and I had a difficult time
understanding what was occurring. By the second visit, I was able to understand more of what was
going on. The courtroom observation was

Essay about The Physic of Paintball
The Physic of Paintball
I.The Fundamentals of the Game of Paintball.
Paintball is a sport that is still fairly new in the world being not much more that a decade old. This
game as with other sports would not be possible without physics. Physics is essential to the game of
paintball. Some of physics that are involved in paintball are pressurized gas, projectile motion, and the
impulse of being hit by a paintball.
As with all sports there is necessary equipment needed to play. The most important piece of equipment
would be the paintball gun often called a marker. The marker uses compressed carbon dioxide to
propel the .68 caliber paintballs. Small carbon dioxide tanks are connected to the paintball markers the
tanks vary in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pressure caused by gases and gases being placed under pressure is used in our everyday life. Without
the use of gases we would be unable to fly in airplanes, play basketball or even have carbonated
drinks. Gases exert pressure on any surface with which they come in contact, because gas molecules
are constantly in motion. We humans have adapted so well psychologically to the pressure of the air
around us that we are usually unaware of it (Chang 155). The equation often used to measure the
pressure of gases is the ideal gas equation P=nRT/V. Where P is the pressure of the gas in atm, n is the
number of moles of gas, R is the proportionality constant (0.0821 L*atm) T is the temperature in
Kelvin of the gas, and V is the volume the gas occupies (Chang 160).
The gas used with paintball in is pressurized carbon dioxide. The gas is under high pressure in small
cylinders. The high pressure is created by forcing large amounts of gas into a finite area. According to
the equation given above the more gas forced into a restricted volume the pressure will increase.
III.Projectile Motion of Paintballs.
Projectile motion plays a valuable role while playing paintball. Unlike shooting a real gun a paintball
can be seen throughout its entire flight. They are big enough and slow enough to be seen easily. When
a paintball is shot it comes out of the barrel moving at 250 to 300 feet per second, and unfortunately is
easily affected by wind and air resistance.

Alexis Conso Research Paper
March was a busy month on Harper 2 but that didn t stop Alexis Fregoso. During the month of March
Alexis showed some great leadership by helping other residents on the floor study. Also Alexis was a
great advocate for my St. Patrick s Day event. He helped advertise it by word of mouth to a good
majority of my residents. Alexis has always shown support of my programs and he has nearly attended
every single one. Alexis is such a wonderful asset to my floor and he always brings such a bubbly and
interesting personality. He is great to have ad events especially one s I would like to get more
attendance to. Alexis also is a great role model to others on the floor. He frequently will go around and
check up on everyone to make sure they are okay and having a good day. I ve noticed that if he sees

Well Alexis is your guy. Alexis knows a great deal about cars and he has helped countless of my
residents with their car troubles. Not only has he helped my residents, he has also helped me. A couple
days before spring break, I decided to change the spark plugs in my car. Even though Alexis had three
tests the week before spring break he still was able to help me with my car. He really puts others
above himself. Another thing I love about Alexis is that he won t just leave you high and dry in a time
of need. When we changed the spark plugs in my car we must have smashed a valve because my car
could not be driven. By the time we noticed this problem it was time to go home for spring break. Not
only did Alexis go out of his way to help me change my spark plugs and help me figure out my
problem, he also drove me two hours home so I could enjoy my spring break with my family. He then
picked me and took me back to school at the conclusion of spring break. I couldn t thank him enough
for this wonderful deed he performed for me. I am very grateful I have Alexis on my floor as a

A Short Note On The De Los Datos
recopilada.

Fortune 500 companies. These companies have instilled these tests in their company policies with all
new hires or promotional employees. These assessments are used to help all human resources
personnel in the decision of hiring or promoting employees. These tests are used as tools to improve

They also see logic and implement with the more comprehensive systems within a company. These
employees are usually very informed and enjoy expanding their knowledge.
The second most commonly used assessment is the Keirsey Temperament Sorter which which is used
among employers and school officials for the same purpose of hiring or promoting employees. Many
schools use this assessment to help the school therapists or counselors with teaching methods.
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter helps in the dysfunctional behavior of a person either children or
adults. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter is used for the following reasons: team building, conflict
resolution, career exploration, guidance counseling, relationship counseling or self understanding.
This assessment was developed by clinical psychologists by the name of Dr. David Keirsey. He had
worked for 20 years in the public school systems and had seen many types of behaviors among the
students. He had worked and experienced the interventional ways of behavior and focused in training
therapists for over 10 years. He specialized in pragmatics of coaching children, parents and spouses to
decrease conflict and to help them to increase cooperation. He wrote a best selling book Please
Understand Me . He wrote an expanded version for this book Please Understand Me II that focused on

Similarities Between Memory And The Movie And Movie
Memory and the Past Do you know that Rebecca was the best seller novel sold between 1938 and
1965? The novel was written by Daphne du Maurier in 1938. The story is a mixture of love and hate
for the primary characters in Rebecca novel. It begins when a young, poor woman who works with
Ms. Van Hopper meets Maxim de Winter. Then the young women, narrator, feels in love with Maxim
de Winter and decide to get married to go with him to Manderley. After that she meets Mrs. Danvers
and the narrator feels uncomfortable because she seems like a devil woman. The narrator feels deeply
frustrate and upset because she thinks Maxim loves Rebecca crazily. Then she founds the secret that
Maxim does not love Rebecca, so she becomes better and gets confidence again. Furthermore Maxim
meets Dr. Baker and he tells him that Rebecca is not pregnant, but she has had a cancer. In the end,
Maxim returns back to Manderley and sees his home burning. The director of the movie is Alfred
Hitchcock, and it was released in 1940. There are several similarities and differences between the
novel and the film. There are three main similarities between the novel and the film. The first
similarity is in the narrator character. In both the novel and the film narrator is naive, sensitive, very
shy, does not have enough experience in life and she is from ordinary family. Also ... Show more

the narrator fancy dress dance. In addition, there are three perspicuous differences, which are Maxim
de Winter suicide, Rebecca s death graphic in the novel, and lastly Mrs. Danvers fate is left
ambiguous. In my opinion, people should be careful in times of anger that may cause death for some
person. I think that court will help us to eliminate the criminals. So you should be warned legally to be

The Soul Has Bandaged Moments By Emily Dickinson Summary
Emily Dickinson s poem The Soul Has Bandaged Moments revolves around her interpretation of her
soul. The speaker explains that her soul goes through many phases. Her soul goes from being trapped
with extreme fear, to gaining the strength to escape, and finally being trapped once again. This poem
is ultimately about fear and depression, and the soul s inability to break free from the demon that it is
trapped by. In the first stanza, Dickinson repeats the title The Soul Has Bandaged Moments .
Dickinson s use of the word bandaged plays an important role in explaining how she feels about her
soul. The word bandaged implies that the soul is broken, weak, and unable to recover from what is
hurting it. She also states that the soul has moments when it is too appalled to stir meaning that there
are times when she is too afraid to even move. In addition, she mentions that she feels some ghastly
Fright come up and stop to look at her . These two lines emphasize how trapped the speaker feels.
Furthermore, the word fright is personified. She describes that fright stops to look at her. This could
suggest that fright is something more than a feeling; it could describe a demon that has a hold on her
soul. Ultimately, the fear paralyzes her and leaves her feeling In the second stanza, Dickinson
continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both cases, the bee, and the speaker s soul are unable to get what they need. However, once the bee
is reunited with his rose he is liberated and knows nothing more but Noon, and Paradise . In this case,
the bee in so elated that it does not know what to do with its freedom. Similarly, Dickinson is
constantly conflicted with the idea of her soul being free, and the idea of her soul being trapped by a
demon. In addition, the use of the word paradise indicates eternity which is ultimately what the
speaker s soul is longing

The Devil s Woods Research Paper
In a small farming village named Haten around 1648, a legend spread through the town. It said that if
a hunter lucky enough to find and shoot a blue spirit in the form of a rabbit with a bow and arrow in
the Devil s Woods, they could cure any illness that was afflicted with a human. Of course, many
people jumped at this myth, and set out to find those rabbits so they could cure the mysterious illness
the village leader had, as a great reward was being held. In their travels, many of them never returned
or came back with serious injuries, and more rumors told how a malicious beast named Raion, a
centaur with a lion s head, that wielded a sword and a magical bow wandered the forest, picking off
hunters one by one who dared hunt the blue rabbits. One hunter, however, was unfazed by these tales

The Ideologies Put Forth By Paulo Freire
The ideologies put forth by Paulo Freire including liberation education, pedagogy of the oppressed,
inequality and pedagogy of possibility gives educators hope. These are the educators who are
dedicated to bring about positive change in education and by extension society. Freire s contribution to
education through his research and theories resonates with Trinbagonian educators as it encompasses
issues of slavery, colonialism, post colonialism social mobility and democracy. Furthermore, Freire s
ontology is grounded in comprehensive philosophical underpinnings including that of John Dewey
and Jean Piaget. Their contributions have shaped education internationally as well as locally. Thus, the
authors critique of Freire s work in an attempt to restructure his theories is a worthwhile analysis and
allows for self reflection, critical thinking and the assurance of hope, in that, if education does nothing
else, it must inspire hope in reference to the school of pragmatism. Such an educational philosophy in
the words to Giroux (2007), points to a future in which democratic practices create the conditions for
each generation of youth to struggle anew to sustain the promise of a democracy that has no end point,
but that must be continuously expanded into a world of new possibilities and opportunities for keeping
justice and hope alive. (p.201)

Challenges Faced By Government Digital Service
Products and services invented are faced by the challenges they must overcome, these invention also
provide opportunities. Innovation is having a need, which requires a solution. Innovation is a process
of turning new ideas and putting these into widely used practices. (Joe TIdd) Government digital
service is a collection of government s cabinet office with the responsibility of transforming the
government digital service.
This essay aims to examine the innovation challenges faced by Government digital service along with
the opportunities, which arise with the invention of government digital service. The Essay focuses on
what is innovate about the government digital service, how sustainable is the operating model, if GSD
was disruptive, strategies GSD can use to establish platform thinking and how GSD can influence the
public s use of government s digital platform.
Inventions such as Government digital services are faced with challenges that incur as a result of the
invention. Due to the nature of government Digital service being a unit of government cabinet one
major challenge it faces is the culture of department silos and their relationships with the IT oligarchs .
Success in innovation appears to depend upon two key ingredients technical resources (people,
equipment, knowledge, money and etc.) and the capabilities in the organization to manage them. (Joe

Character Analysis Of King Loar s King Lear
Audiences love knowing who is the villain of a story. There s a certain power in seeing something not
visible to the other characters, recognizing a seed of hatred blooming behind the scenes. It brings a
sense of satisfaction, actively rooting against the antagonist so that the hero can win. Seeing the
difference between good and bad isn t easy in real life, but in a fictional world all of the rules change,
and the audience knows the truth. In King Lear, Goneril and Regan, daughters to the king, are almost
immediately cemented into the role of antagonists due to characters reactions to them and insider
knowledge the audience gains when listening to their private talks. However, we only make this leap
because certain characters in the play want us to. But what if those characters are wrong? Maybe the
world of the play already believes Goneril and Regan are the villains, but as an outside audience we
have the option to give the sisters a chance to prove themselves. Looking at their actions, listening to
their words, nothing about the two sisters implies that they re bloodthirsty or traitors to their family.
Instead, Regan and Goneril instead seem to be protecting themselves from an unloving and possibly
abusive father. In the first scene of the play, Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia must tell their dad how
much they love him in order to receive their inheritance. Goneril and Regan flatter their dad
extensively, but Cordelia refuses to speak because her love is too great to put

Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior
Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social
contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always
acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression
by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and
reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most
Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races.
Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. To be socially involved with them... as
a consequence of working with them. You get very close. You drink each night and people sleep with
each other. It s a sort of built in social life...In politics you can move between the various strata of
society. You can talk and mingle with people to whom otherwise you would have absolutely no access
(Michaud Aynesworth, 2000, pg. 11). Marxist or Radical theory The Marxists theory was developed
by Karl Marx who believed that modern capitalism had turned workers into a dehumanized mass who
lived an existence that was at the mercy of their employers which led him to conclude that the
character of every civilization is determined by its mode of production (Siegel, 2015, pg. 199).
Richard Quinney derived the radical theory which is derived from the Marxist theory and describes

Literary Analysis Of Eveline
James Joyce s Eveline is a short story about a nineteen year old Eveline, who contemplates
abandoning a life she is accustomed to and moving to a distant land with a man she hardly knows. In
one hand she holds the weight of uncertain happiness, in the other, inevitable misery. Eveline needs to
make a choice between two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other, a
respected wife. Following her mother s death, Eveline assumes the role of a parent and inherits all the
chores accompanying it. She works hard at home and the Stores (Joyce 74), but for all her troubles,
Eveline gets little respect in return. Now with one brother dead and other away on business, she is left
alone to keep the family together and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being at the bottom of the hierarchy, Eveline s only means of escape is a man who will take her hand
in marriage.
Eveline s father is the second most important character in the story, yet Joyce chooses not to reveal his
name. That is because he is only a father in a biological sense, falling short at every other fatherly
duty. Mr.Hill is a failed provider who takes his offspring s earnings only to hand it back, allowing him
to feel like a man of the house . He is abusive and flaunts his dominance by threaten[ing] (Joyce 73)
Eveline well into her adulthood. The threats seem unprovoked and random, indicating father s
attempts to instill fear rather than curb or abolish an offending behavior. Compensating for his
failures, the father uses aggression and control to get what he wants. Her father was becoming old
lately, she noticed; he would miss her (Joyce 75), the narrator draws our attention to the aging of the
father and impending helplessness following it. Though Joyce does not clarify how the father will
miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he would miss Eveline s help
around the house and money the most. Still, as she contemplates leaving, Eveline sees good in him
and tries to balance her father s increasing capacity for violence by remembering three random acts of
kindness (Trudell) that seemingly undue all the wrong he has done in the past. No matter

1.1 SUMMARY OF THE CASE STUDY OF GASCOYNE GOLD Tropical Cyclone Steve has
dumped so much rain in the northwest, which makes the Gascoyne River has broken its banks and
tens of thousands of tons of rich red topsoil has been washed out to the sea. This has made their soil

which causing them to have huge losses that cost millions of dollars. After that, the growers are back

The BCG also allows a multidivisional organization to manage its portfolio of businesses by
examining the relative market share position and the industry growth rate of each division which
related to the other divisions in the organization. The BCG model is based on the product life cycle
theory which can be used to determine which one of the product should be given the priority in the
product portfolio of a business unit. It is usually based on the observations towards the company s
business units that it can be classified into four categories based on combinations of market growth
and market share relative to the largest competitors that brings the name of growth share . As to make
sure that the long term value creation is made, the company should have a specification of the
products which contains both high growth products in need of cash inputs and low growth products
that generate a lot of cash. The BCG matrix portrays the perspective of the product portfolio, which is
the growth share matrix. This framework of tool categorizes products within a company s portfolio or
within the business units as stars, cash cows, dogs, or question marks according to growth rate, market
share, and positively or negative cash flow. By using positive cash flows a company can capitalize on
growth opportunities. From this analysis, it can be seen that the products that is growing

Why Should The Burqa Not Be Banned Case Study
An abundant deal of confusion surrounds the burqa and the dispute of it being worn in Western
countries. Lately in media, there has been several multiculturalism disputes surrounding Muslims. The
disputes are regarding whether or not Muslims should be permitted to wear burqas. Many would
concur that prohibiting burqas is discriminating against Muslims rights in choosing religion. In a
multicultural society such as America, individuals should be free to express their own religious faith
and display religious symbols such as burqas.
From an ethical standpoint, the burqa should not be banned. Any individual has the basic human right
to be able to live his life and to express himself in any environment that is protected and equal.

With Elauf s impressive application, she highly captivated the assistant store manager whom she met.
The reason for Elauf not obtaining the job was because of her headscarf. The headscarf conflicted with
the company s look policy, a code derived from Abercrombie s focus on what it calls East Coast
collegiate or preppy style (Liptak). Elauf did not reference her headscarf in the course of her interview
and did not specify that she would need an accommodation from the Look Policy. Elauf s interviewer
likewise did not comment on the headscarf, though she made contact with the district manager, who
advised her to decrease Elauf s evaluation on the appearance portion of the application. Decreasing
Elauf s evaluation in turn lowered her overall score and prevented her from acquiring the job. Due to
these circumstances, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued Abercrombie and Fitch on
Elauf s behalf. Ultimately, this case made it to the Supreme Court level in 2015. The Supreme Court
ruled against the merchant Abercrombie and Fitch, whom may have violated workplace discrimination
laws when it turned down a Muslim job applicant because she wore a hijab. An employer may not take
an applicant s religious practice, confirmed or otherwise, a factor in employment decisions quoted by
Justice Scalia ( Supreme ). The outcome of this case can be tremendously agreed upon. An individual,

Identification Of Civilian Population By The Hampshire...
The document is an from an archive taken from the Hampshire Record Office which includes a
government poster published in Britain during the time when WW2 had just began and evacuation
process had started to take place. Whilst carrying out research it is important to be able to understand
more about the context of this time. To some extent this poster is able to help us with our
understanding surrounding some of the details about the evacuation process as well as being able to
analyse some of the information that the government provided the citizens with during this time.
Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records were kept and
handled, this document specifically is able to provide some insight into the different areas across Great
Britain and possibly develop upon this in order to compare and contrast research that is compiled over
a period of time.
The title of this document is Important announcement Dispersal of civilian population , this clearly
shows us that the purpose of the document was to inform civilians and to provide them with important
information that was necessary for the majority of the public to read and understand attentively. The
first section of the poster is titled, Children under 15 . In this section of the poster, it addresses the
issue of children under 15 travelling and how they must be accompanied by their mothers or another
responsible adult at all times. This suggests that the

Myth Of Mekos
Mekos, a warrior among gods, served a series of oracles known as the Congregation of Intellect. After
being struck by a course of flashbacks it was revealed to him that he was a prosperous war hero who
led his army of Aspians to many victories. He was struck down by a ruthless king. During his siding
with death, the oracles resurrected him with an agreement for him to serve the Congregation of
Intellect. These oracles created the Law of Burdening which cast a source of dark magic onto every
entity in the land. This magic bound all the organisms including humans to have deformities which
either enhanced or decreased their physical and mental capabilities causing them to all be equal. The

family. Include how your future plans will involve service to others.
Write a 300 500 word essay on the above topic.
In my four years as a Fairfield Eagle, I have come to a new understanding of our school motto, A
Tradition of Excellence. Excellence in our school is something that we boast about regularly
throughout our community. For example, what community can boast of a football program that, in the
last decade, has been to more state championship games than any other school? What community can
boast of a girls basketball program that held a 104 0 record with three back to back titles, and a total of
four? My answer: Fairfield can. Therefore, nothing is a bigger source of pride or, more inspiring than
being a part of a community that should never have achieved such a high level of success.
Consequently, through A Tradition of Excellence , we commit ourselves to the path of becoming
something better, and what better to take with us into the future than the desire to constantly push for
the best that we can hope to be? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Support Language Development
There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et
al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through
copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and
individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that
through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain
key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro
(2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new
target vocabulary. Hurrell (1999) criticises the motion of copy writing: as it gives the children too
many things to focus on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a very difficult task especially in a foreign language with differing word structures and
sentence conventions. Another criticism of copy writing is that children often make assumptions that
copy writing is easy which means they do not necessarily pay full attention, meaning they make
careless mistakes which result in the little recall of the vocabulary (Macaro, 2006). Alternative
activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008),
encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of
their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises
phonetic awareness. It is important for children to improve their phonetic awareness when learning to
write in a foreign language alongside being allowed to make mistakes without fear of second language
anxiety, as outlined by Levine

Tsar Nicholas II And The Russo-Japanese War
The two essays I have selected take different approaches concerning Tsar Nicholas II and his decision
making process. The two men take not only different approaches to the tsar but arrive at different
conclusions. Rotem Kowner s essay, Nicholas II and the Japanese body: Images and decision making
on the eve of the Russo Japanese War, examines Nicholas s attitude toward the Japanese and how it
affected his decision. Raymond Esthus s essay, Nicholas II and the Russo Japanese War, shows
Nicholas s commitment to autocracy and a stubborn resolve to defend Russia s honor. Ethmus
dismisses the idea of Nicholas being weak minded and easily led. It was the mismanagement of the
administration that caused Nicholas to misread the political realities the Russian nation was
encountering. The Russians were not aware of the threat they were to the Japanese, as the Russians
pushed for the completion of the Trans Siberian Railway. Russia s management of the situation was an
idea of avoiding a conflict Kowner sees the increasing strain on the relationship between Japan and
Russia as the tsar meddled with the work of the ministries in the capital. While Ethmus sees the
administration as mismanaging the situation, Kowner would agree with the tsar misreading the crisis
but not where the mismanagement came from. He places the blame directly on the tsar. Had the tsar
realized the full military potential of his enemy, Russia could have prepared better for war, and
strategic decisions, such

Healthcare Coverage of the Americans
Legislative Position:
When U.S. President Barrack Obama signed the health care reform bill into law in March 2010,
opposing political pundits were quick to brand the initiative as government takeover of the healthcare
system and pejoratively described it as socialized medicine. I considered it my civic duty to look a
little deeper into the pros and cons of the issue as earlier research findings had reported 45,000
Americans died annually for lack of health care coverage (Robertson, 2009).
The first amazing fact I discovered is that every modern westernized country, with the exception of the
United States, broadly accepts and runs some form of socialized medicine. England passed their
National Health Service (NHS) Act in 1948, and from that year has provided free physician and
hospital services for all her citizens. Government takeover is a concept that contributed to the
European approach where government not only owns the hospitals but doctors are also public
employees.
The health reform bill was enacted by the Congress based largely on the free market and has been
criticized for significantly enhancing government regulation of health insurers. However, critics of this
law have failed to highlight that it established a system that relies on private companies and the
government neither nationalized doctors, nor seized control of institutions offering health care to
citizens.
Since the law established exchanges that drove private insurers to compete to provide coverage

These resources include coal and iron, which are mined out of the mountains to the west. Oil, lumber,

Totalitarian Government In 1984, Big Brother Is Watching You
In 1984, Big Brother Is Watching You. Someone couldn t take two steps without bumping into a poster
of a stern looking man (known as Big Brother) seeming to stare into the soul of the viewer. Big
Brother acts as a Godlike figure to the citizens of Oceania, a super nation constantly at war with the
other two super nations. The government of Oceania, the Party, keeps citizens in a vice like grip
through constant surveillance and laws placed on every aspect of human existence. The only loyalty
allowed is to the Party. The Party controls the past, the present, and the future through its control over
anything and everything. The government set up in 1984 directly reflects that of a totalitarian
government. Totalitarianism as it exists in George Orwell s 1984 exhibits key features which bare
striking resemblance to modern governments. The Party in 1984 uses Emmanuel Goldstein as a face
for the people of Oceania to project their hate onto (in order to unite the people in hate.) The Two
Minutes Hate is a ritual performed by the members of the Outer Party, as pictures are displaced for the
people to scream and curse at. Its purpose is to strengthen the Party s position by giving the people
someone to be mad at (that isn t Big Brother.) If the people feel a lack of control over their own lives,
they re able to channel that into hate of the evil Emmanuel Goldstein and East and Eurasia (instead of
being mad at Big Brother.) During one of the rituals, Winston explains that although

Effects Of Magnesium On Botany
Magnesium is an essential mineral in the diets of cattle. It is necessary for the normal and healthy
function of the animal s body. In healthy cattle, the concentration of magnesium in the blood is
approximately 2.25 mg/100 mL of blood, and it is very important that this magnesium level is
maintained to ensure the wellbeing of the animal (Kellems, 2010). A deficiency in magnesium, either
because the diet does not provide enough or because the magnesium cannot be absorbed due to other
factors, can lead to major issues in the cow s health. Hypomagnesemic tetany, commonly known as
grass tetany, is a disease that can lead to fatality caused by a deficiency of magnesium in the animal s
body. This disease most commonly occurs in lactating beef cows ... Show more content on

Magnesium influences the membrane potentials of neurons, keeping the resting potential further from
threshold, so that the neurons requiring a larger amount of stimuli to send signals from neuron to
neuron and result in muscle contractions and extensions. When magnesium is not within the proper
range in the body, the resting potential of the neurons remain closer to threshold, so less stimuli is
required to move the action potential down the neurons and cause the contraction of muscles. This is a
major problem associated with grass tetany (Fentenot et al, 1988). Symptoms of grass tetany are
commonly not observed in time to save the cows. Symptoms of the disease include the cow appearing
to be blind, excitable, and suffering from convulsions. In less severe cases, the cow will be more
sensitive to touch and sound she typically is, urinate often, and appear stiff and uncomfortable. If any
of these signs are seen that indicate tetany, the cow should be placed on magnesium solution IV. Often,
the cow is discovered dead without any symptoms being witnessed because once the convulsions
begin, the animal will most likely die within a few hours (Stewart,

The Etiology of Autism Essay
Autism is a behavioral syndrome usually presenting behavior abnormalities before the child is 30
months of age. These behavioral abnormalities include marked social deficits, specific language
abnormalities and stereotyped, repetitive behaviors (Piven, 1990). Although the exact etiology of
autism is not known it is now believed that it is a dysfunction of one or more unidentified brain
systems and not the result of parental and environmental influences. Variations in symptomology and
in prognosis among autistic persons depend on both the severity and the extent of the underlying brain
dysfunction (Repin, 1991). Several studies have been conducted including neuroanatomic imaging,

Throughout their lives autistic children avoid eye contact and are unaware of other people s feelings.
They are unable to make friends and do not learn to play with other children. They often prefer social
isolation.
Many autistic children have some sort of language disorder and this will often be another presenting
complaint to the doctor from the parents. Some children are mute and understand little; others speak
late and produce unintelligible sentences with no desire to communicate. These children often
memorize television commercials and recite them with perfect imitation of the tone of voice and the
rhythm of the speaker they are imitating. Although these children are unable to verbally communicate,
they also rarely use gestures or imitate actions to communicate. They often will retrieve things and try
to do things for themselves rather than try and ask for them.
Autistic children need routines and any deviation from routine severely upsets them. Repetitive
movements such as rocking, humming and flapping hands is characteristic behavior. As these children
become older, they may spend weeks to months learning about one specific topic.
The intelligence range of autistic children varies from profound mental deficiency to superior
intelligence. Idiots savants is the name referred to autistic persons who have a superior skill in a
narrow range of abilities such as calculations or rote verbal memory (Repin, 1991).

The Revolution Of The Haitian Revolution

the slaves in Rome led by Spartacus, The Zanj Rebellion in the Middle East, and The Civil War in the
United States. However, The Haitian Revolution is one of the most effective and swift Slave revolts of
all time. The causes of the Haitian Revolution were quite simple and was similar to any other kind of
slave revolt. Many ideas carried around by slave traders at the time such as treating slaves as property,
using social/racial classes, and oppressive control ultimately tipped the slaves over the edge. Ideas of
independence also sparked the revolution, and one key inspiration to the cause was The French

Because these people were being treated like property, they were accommodated with the barest
necessities and were given little to no food. These slaves looked for a way to vent their frustrations.
Through the Christian Religion, these slaves were able to unify under one belief. They grew confident
and more unified knowing they outnumbered the whites of the island ten to one. Some slaves escaped
their owners, and became what were known as Maroons. These escaped slaves lived in the mountains
of Jamaica. These rebels laid down the foundations of a black resistance towards the slave owners and
whites. They carried out plantation raids, the killing of white militiamen, and the freeing of slaves.
These Maroons alone threatened the British prospect of the sugar and slave industry. Slavery is one of

will have top cover form outside parties involved and they can take a look at the historical legislative
involvement in overseeing or regulating professional football.
After the NFL commissioner came under scrutiny from Washington lawmakers on whether or not the
injuries in his sport were the cause of traumatic brain disease. The commissioner enacted a policy that
players had to pass a series of test by a neurologist prior to them being allowed to return to play(
Grove, J) This policy change is similar to a normal employee passing a physical from their primary
Doctor before they could return to work. The Commissioner enacted this policy to prevent players
from returning to the game to soon. The current NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wasn t the first
recognize that his sport had a problem taking care of its players. In 1962 the rule of no Face masking
was enacted. This rule prohibited a player from grabbing another player s facemask (Grove, J 657). In
the late 1970 s an additional rule was enacted. The NFL finally passed a rule prohibiting players from

  • 2. Criminal Justice Court Observation I observed court operations at the Plantation Key Government Center in Tavernier, Florida twice: on October 7th and November 4th. I observed Chief Circuit Judge Carlos Garcia in courtroom A. The courthouse is located in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida and it s a state trial court with general jurisdiction. The first visit was cut short, in part because it was a lighter criminal day than planned, but also I was flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism that was present in the Florida Keys courtroom. I m not sure if it s a court in Paradise problem, or something that is observed at other courtrooms, however, I m disappointed in what I saw. Lack of professionalism was evident during both visits from the actors and their actions. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They seemed laid back and like they were conversing amongst friends. I m not requesting duels between the state and defense attorneys, but don t let the defense attorneys waste your time. It was clear that the State was fairly prepared, at least enough to move on from preliminary hearings into discovery, yet the state would grant continuances to February of 2015. I think it s great that it s not a hyper competitive environment, but business still needs to get done. I believe to a certain extent, they did defend their clients, I feel more zest could have been used, but my standard might be unrealistically high. Judge Garcia came into court, well prepared, he knew the cases better than the attorneys, and he was active. He had a very expressive face, and it was clear from his body language, at times he felt frustrated or disinterested. I feel it was more from, being a former Assistant State Attorney and the state not necessarily posing the best offense. I feel that many of the issues could have moved on to the next step in the criminal process. For the cases that were resolved there on the spot, Mr. Edwards was happy with his outcome Ms. Denum was upset, but not necessarily because of the outcome. During the first visit, we were still early into the class readings and I had a difficult time understanding what was occurring. By the second visit, I was able to understand more of what was going on. The courtroom observation was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about The Physic of Paintball The Physic of Paintball I.The Fundamentals of the Game of Paintball. Paintball is a sport that is still fairly new in the world being not much more that a decade old. This game as with other sports would not be possible without physics. Physics is essential to the game of paintball. Some of physics that are involved in paintball are pressurized gas, projectile motion, and the impulse of being hit by a paintball. As with all sports there is necessary equipment needed to play. The most important piece of equipment would be the paintball gun often called a marker. The marker uses compressed carbon dioxide to propel the .68 caliber paintballs. Small carbon dioxide tanks are connected to the paintball markers the tanks vary in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pressure caused by gases and gases being placed under pressure is used in our everyday life. Without the use of gases we would be unable to fly in airplanes, play basketball or even have carbonated drinks. Gases exert pressure on any surface with which they come in contact, because gas molecules are constantly in motion. We humans have adapted so well psychologically to the pressure of the air around us that we are usually unaware of it (Chang 155). The equation often used to measure the pressure of gases is the ideal gas equation P=nRT/V. Where P is the pressure of the gas in atm, n is the number of moles of gas, R is the proportionality constant (0.0821 L*atm) T is the temperature in Kelvin of the gas, and V is the volume the gas occupies (Chang 160). The gas used with paintball in is pressurized carbon dioxide. The gas is under high pressure in small cylinders. The high pressure is created by forcing large amounts of gas into a finite area. According to the equation given above the more gas forced into a restricted volume the pressure will increase. III.Projectile Motion of Paintballs. Projectile motion plays a valuable role while playing paintball. Unlike shooting a real gun a paintball can be seen throughout its entire flight. They are big enough and slow enough to be seen easily. When a paintball is shot it comes out of the barrel moving at 250 to 300 feet per second, and unfortunately is easily affected by wind and air resistance. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. A Short Note On The De Los Datos 4.4. • 8. The Soul Has Bandaged Moments By Emily Dickinson Summary Emily Dickinson s poem The Soul Has Bandaged Moments revolves around her interpretation of her soul. The speaker explains that her soul goes through many phases. Her soul goes from being trapped with extreme fear, to gaining the strength to escape, and finally being trapped once again. This poem is ultimately about fear and depression, and the soul s inability to break free from the demon that it is trapped by. In the first stanza, Dickinson repeats the title The Soul Has Bandaged Moments . Dickinson s use of the word bandaged plays an important role in explaining how she feels about her soul. The word bandaged implies that the soul is broken, weak, and unable to recover from what is hurting it. She also states that the soul has moments when it is too appalled to stir meaning that there are times when she is too afraid to even move. In addition, she mentions that she feels some ghastly Fright come up and stop to look at her . These two lines emphasize how trapped the speaker feels. Furthermore, the word fright is personified. She describes that fright stops to look at her. This could suggest that fright is something more than a feeling; it could describe a demon that has a hold on her soul. Ultimately, the fear paralyzes her and leaves her feeling In the second stanza, Dickinson continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, many people jumped at this myth, and set out to find those rabbits so they could cure the mysterious illness the village leader had, as a great reward was being held. • 10. The Ideologies Put Forth By Paulo Freire The ideologies put forth by Paulo Freire including liberation education, pedagogy of the oppressed, inequality and pedagogy of possibility gives educators hope. These are the educators who are dedicated to bring about positive change in education and by extension society. Freire s contribution to education through his research and theories resonates with Trinbagonian educators as it encompasses issues of slavery, colonialism, post colonialism social mobility and democracy. Furthermore, Freire s ontology is grounded in comprehensive philosophical underpinnings including that of John Dewey and Jean Piaget. Their contributions have shaped education internationally as well as locally. Thus, the authors critique of Freire s work in an attempt to restructure his theories is a worthwhile analysis and allows for self reflection, critical thinking and the assurance of hope, in that, if education does nothing else, it must inspire hope in reference to the school of pragmatism. Such an educational philosophy in the words to Giroux (2007), points to a future in which democratic practices create the conditions for each generation of youth to struggle anew to sustain the promise of a democracy that has no end point, but that must be continuously expanded into a world of new possibilities and opportunities for keeping justice and hope alive. • 15. Character Analysis Of King Loar s King Lear Audiences love knowing who is the villain of a story. There s a certain power in seeing something not visible to the other characters, recognizing a seed of hatred blooming behind the scenes. It brings a sense of satisfaction, actively rooting against the antagonist so that the hero can win. Seeing the difference between good and bad isn t easy in real life, but in a fictional world all of the rules change, and the audience knows the truth. In King Lear, Goneril and Regan, daughters to the king, are almost immediately cemented into the role of antagonists due to characters reactions to them and insider knowledge the audience gains when listening to their private talks. However, we only make this leap because certain characters in the play want us to. But what if those characters are wrong? Maybe the world of the play already believes Goneril and Regan are the villains, but as an outside audience we have the option to give the sisters a chance to prove themselves. Looking at their actions, listening to their words, nothing about the two sisters implies that they re bloodthirsty or traitors to their family. Instead, Regan and Goneril instead seem to be protecting themselves from an unloving and possibly abusive father. In the first scene of the play, Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia must tell their dad how much they love him in order to receive their inheritance. Goneril and Regan flatter their dad extensively, but Cordelia refuses to speak because her love is too great to put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races. Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. To be socially involved with them... as a consequence of working with them. You get very close. You drink each night and people sleep with each other. It s a sort of built in social life...In politics you can move between the various strata of society. You can talk and mingle with people to whom otherwise you would have absolutely no access (Michaud Aynesworth, 2000, pg. 11). Marxist or Radical theory The Marxists theory was developed by Karl Marx who believed that modern capitalism had turned workers into a dehumanized mass who lived an existence that was at the mercy of their employers which led him to conclude that the character of every civilization is determined by its mode of production (Siegel, 2015, pg. 199). Eveline needs to make a choice between two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other, a respected wife. Though Joyce does not clarify how the father will miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he would miss Eveline s help around the house and money the most. • 26. Support Language Development There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro (2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new target vocabulary. Alternative activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008), encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises phonetic awareness. Rotem Kowner s essay, Nicholas II and the Japanese body: Images and decision making on the eve of the Russo Japanese War, examines Nicholas s attitude toward the Japanese and how it affected his decision. Raymond Esthus s essay, Nicholas II and the Russo Japanese War, shows Nicholas s commitment to autocracy and a stubborn resolve to defend Russia s honor. Ethmus dismisses the idea of Nicholas being weak minded and easily led. It was the mismanagement of the administration that caused Nicholas to misread the political realities the Russian nation was encountering. The Russians were not aware of the threat they were to the Japanese, as the Russians pushed for the completion of the Trans Siberian Railway. Russia s management of the situation was an idea of avoiding a conflict Kowner sees the increasing strain on the relationship between Japan and Russia as the tsar meddled with the work of the ministries in the capital. While Ethmus sees the administration as mismanaging the situation, Kowner would agree with the tsar misreading the crisis but not where the mismanagement came from. Healthcare Coverage of the Americans Legislative Position: When U.S. President Barrack Obama signed the health care reform bill into law in March 2010, opposing political pundits were quick to brand the initiative as government takeover of the healthcare system and pejoratively described it as socialized medicine. I considered it my civic duty to look a little deeper into the pros and cons of the issue as earlier research findings had reported 45,000 Americans died annually for lack of health care coverage (Robertson, 2009). The first amazing fact I discovered is that every modern westernized country, with the exception of the United States, broadly accepts and runs some form of socialized medicine. England passed their National Health Service (NHS) Act in 1948, and from that year has provided free physician and hospital services for all her citizens. Government takeover is a concept that contributed to the European approach where government not only owns the hospitals but doctors are also public employees. The health reform bill was enacted by the Congress based largely on the free market and has been criticized for significantly enhancing government regulation of health insurers. However, critics of this law have failed to highlight that it established a system that relies on private companies and the government neither nationalized doctors, nor seized control of institutions offering health care to citizens. In the first passage A Joint Effort The characters were determined to win this. They would keep on looking as much as they could just to win something. They never gave up though sometimes they think they couldn t do it. They wouldn t give up on trying until the competition was done even if they won or not. • 35. Effects Of Magnesium On Botany Magnesium is an essential mineral in the diets of cattle. It is necessary for the normal and healthy function of the animal s body. In healthy cattle, the concentration of magnesium in the blood is approximately 2.25 mg/100 mL of blood, and it is very important that this magnesium level is maintained to ensure the wellbeing of the animal (Kellems, 2010). A deficiency in magnesium, either because the diet does not provide enough or because the magnesium cannot be absorbed due to other factors, can lead to major issues in the cow s health. Hypomagnesemic tetany, commonly known as grass tetany, is a disease that can lead to fatality caused by a deficiency of magnesium in the animal s body. This disease most commonly occurs in lactating beef cows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Magnesium influences the membrane potentials of neurons, keeping the resting potential further from threshold, so that the neurons requiring a larger amount of stimuli to send signals from neuron to neuron and result in muscle contractions and extensions. When magnesium is not within the proper range in the body, the resting potential of the neurons remain closer to threshold, so less stimuli is required to move the action potential down the neurons and cause the contraction of muscles. This is a major problem associated with grass tetany (Fentenot et al, 1988). Symptoms of grass tetany are commonly not observed in time to save the cows. Symptoms of the disease include the cow appearing to be blind, excitable, and suffering from convulsions. In less severe cases, the cow will be more sensitive to touch and sound she typically is, urinate often, and appear stiff and uncomfortable. If any of these signs are seen that indicate tetany, the cow should be placed on magnesium solution IV. Often, the cow is discovered dead without any symptoms being witnessed because once the convulsions begin, the animal will most likely die within a few hours (Stewart, ... • 37. The Etiology of Autism Essay Autism is a behavioral syndrome usually presenting behavior abnormalities before the child is 30 months of age. These behavioral abnormalities include marked social deficits, specific language abnormalities and stereotyped, repetitive behaviors (Piven, 1990). Although the exact etiology of autism is not known it is now believed that it is a dysfunction of one or more unidentified brain systems and not the result of parental and environmental influences. Variations in symptomology and in prognosis among autistic persons depend on both the severity and the extent of the underlying brain dysfunction (Repin, 1991). Several studies have been conducted including neuroanatomic imaging, microscopic neuroanatomic observations and positron ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout their lives autistic children avoid eye contact and are unaware of other people s feelings. They are unable to make friends and do not learn to play with other children. They often prefer social isolation. Many autistic children have some sort of language disorder and this will often be another presenting complaint to the doctor from the parents. Some children are mute and understand little; others speak late and produce unintelligible sentences with no desire to communicate. These children often memorize television commercials and recite them with perfect imitation of the tone of voice and the rhythm of the speaker they are imitating. Although these children are unable to verbally communicate, they also rarely use gestures or imitate actions to communicate. They often will retrieve things and try to do things for themselves rather than try and ask for them. Autistic children need routines and any deviation from routine severely upsets them. Repetitive movements such as rocking, humming and flapping hands is characteristic behavior. As these children become older, they may spend weeks to months learning about one specific topic. The intelligence range of autistic children varies from profound mental deficiency to superior intelligence. Idiots savants is the name referred to autistic persons who have a superior skill in a narrow range of abilities such as calculations or rote verbal memory (Repin, 1991). • 38. The Revolution Of The Haitian Revolution Many times throughout history, we can see the effects of independent thought. There was the revolt of the slaves in Rome led by Spartacus, The Zanj Rebellion in the Middle East, and The Civil War in the United States. However, The Haitian Revolution is one of the most effective and swift Slave revolts of all time. The causes of the Haitian Revolution were quite simple and was similar to any other kind of slave revolt. Many ideas carried around by slave traders at the time such as treating slaves as property, using social/racial classes, and oppressive control ultimately tipped the slaves over the edge. Ideas of independence also sparked the revolution, and one key inspiration to the cause was The French Revolution. This is not very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because these people were being treated like property, they were accommodated with the barest necessities and were given little to no food. These slaves looked for a way to vent their frustrations. Through the Christian Religion, these slaves were able to unify under one belief. They grew confident and more unified knowing they outnumbered the whites of the island ten to one. Some slaves escaped their owners, and became what were known as Maroons. These escaped slaves lived in the mountains of Jamaica. These rebels laid down the foundations of a black resistance towards the slave owners and whites. They carried out plantation raids, the killing of white militiamen, and the freeing of slaves. These Maroons alone threatened the British prospect of the sugar and slave industry. Slavery is one of the most frowned upon act humans have ever done. Condemning humans to back breaking labor with no pay at all with constant abuse is surely going to meet some kind of resistance The slaves were not the only black inhabitants of Saint Domingue. The free black inhabitants were called Mulattoes. Like the slaves, they too were oppressed in some way. Abraham Lincoln famously described our national foundation as a government of the people, by the people, for the people , and for such a statement to be true, it is necessary that voices of US citizens be heard. The right to peaceful resistance in America can be tied back to our nation s true beginning: The Declaration of Independence. The document proclaims that it is the Right of the people to alter or abolish a government in order to create a safer and more secure system (Mirkin 64). If you are experiencing pain that doesn t go away with a correct latch and isn t due to plugged ducts, you could have thrush. Thrush is a common fungal infection that affects breastfeeding moms and infants. What is Thrush? The same fungus that is responsible for those dreaded vaginal yeast infections (candida) is the same fungus that is responsible for thrush. • 42. Should The NFL Be Held Liable for Injuries Suffered by... The topic I will be discussing in this draft is the debate on whether the National Football League should be held liable for injuries that their employee s sustained while playing professional football. The injuries that I will discuss are concussion and traumatic brain injuries related to multiple concussions. In years past this injury wasn t know n to be as prevalent because that game was played at a much slower speed. Players in todays game are bigger, faster and stronger than ever. It has been documented that the players themselves willingly know the risk they are taking yet still take the chance at playing the game. Players and player group representatives are now seeking compensation for their player and player s families. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The HMO would be more likely cover such an injury like a concussion or concussion related symptoms, but the NFL is less likely to do so. The NFL can debate that players make a conscious decision to participate in a sport where this risk is involved.. The players that are granted coverage will have top cover form outside parties involved and they can take a look at the historical legislative involvement in overseeing or regulating professional football. After the NFL commissioner came under scrutiny from Washington lawmakers on whether or not the injuries in his sport were the cause of traumatic brain disease. The commissioner enacted a policy that players had to pass a series of test by a neurologist prior to them being allowed to return to play( Grove, J) This policy change is similar to a normal employee passing a physical from their primary Doctor before they could return to work. The Commissioner enacted this policy to prevent players from returning to the game to soon. The current NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wasn t the first recognize that his sport had a problem taking care of its players. In 1962 the rule of no Face masking was enacted.
