Are Teachers Professionals?
I've heard a lot of talk about teachers as professionals, or at least the desire for teachers to be professionals. I'm not sure many people would disagree that, in an ideal system, teachers would be at least close to on-par with doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc.

Auto time based current trends in education scenarioSubhash Jain
Now The time is to lay the foundation to ensure that our students evolve into critical consumers of content, understand the importance of digital citizenship, as well as possess the ability to create, analyze, and interpret an array of media messages
You can be involved with this game for 15 minutes or 35 years and you still learn, in leadership each day we experience new learning.
Those who are convinced that you are doing the right way may find suddenly that “Your Way” is challenged and that you have to change to suit a great leader/player.
What am I good at?
What do I enjoy doing?
What values are important to me?
The journey to success begins with the question “What do you want to do?”
Except you no one else can define success for you. For Donald Trump, success meant making lots of money. For Ted Turner, it meant building a media empire that could challenge the major networks. For Albert Einstein it meant unraveling the secrets of the universe. For mother Theresa it meant ministering to the needs of the destitute in India.
You won’t really succeed unless the things you accomplish bring you pleasure and satisfaction.
Education: What does it take to keep control of a class?: Managing groups of children is a fundamental skill of teaching, but theories differ about whether it is inborn, a question of trial and error or can be learnt.

The word “Yoga” originates from Sanskrit and means “to join, to unite”. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice; this has a holistic effect and brings body, mind, consciousness and soul into balance.

The principle of non-violent upbringing comes down to three words: respect the child. The practical application of this respect is also easily defined: treat the child as we would want to be treated. The bulk of what a child learns, he learns by imitation as if he were a mirror, determined less by what we want him to learn than by how we act toward him. Do we want him to know how to love? Let's love him. That he respect others? Let's respect him. That he be patient and tolerant? Let's be patient and tolerant with him. That he never inflict violence once he has grown up? Let's never inflict violence on him. That he have an independent personality. Let's respect his independence to the maximum. Understanding this is within anyone's grasp.
How do high performing nations evaluate teachersSubhash Jain
Who decides if a teacher is effective and how is that determination made? In most nations, teacher evaluation systems are essentially a “work in progress.
In 'global educational survey‘ OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Secretariat's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA),which ranked India 72nd out of 73 countries.
Education for All goals talk about all children but who are the all? Teaching and education should not be seen only as a technical exercise within a classroom but every teacher
should make efforts to reach out to all children in the school.
You have to be willing to use unusual tactics and be daring to win. You must be able to go into any room anywhere in the world and know there will be no one there who can point a finger at you say, that man did me down. Tactics can be the art of doing something in the best way, in view of person operating the strategy; but this includes morals and also consideration for other parties.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
1. Are Teachers Professionals?
I've heard a lot of talk about teachers as
professionals, or at least the desire for teachers to
be professionals. I'm not sure many people
would disagree that, in an ideal system, teachers
would be at least close to on-par with doctors,
lawyers, engineers, etc.
2. If the government suggested to doctors which treatment
they should prescribe to their patients, there would be an
outcry. If politicians tried to tell lawyers how to handle
individual clients' cases, they would face fierce
resistance.
So why is it that when ministers recommended a
particular choice of school subjects at age 14 – covering
maths, English, science, a language and a humanity –
over half of English schools jumped straight to it and
changed their curriculum offer?
Don't teachers have the same level of professional
expertise as doctors and lawyers?
3. INDIA: A Nation at Risk, our education system has been
fixated on raising student performance. Over the decade,
we have witnessed the coming and going of many
initiatives designed to achieve that end—through the
restructuring of schools and programs and the
development of standards, curricula, teaching materials,
and, yes, standardized assessments.
Yet, in spite of the billions of dollars spent, student
performance has been affected very little.
4. The main reason for that failure is that too little attention
has been paid to what actually goes on in the classroom.
As an old adage puts it, ―If you do what you’ve always
done, you will get the results you’ve always gotten.‖
In addition, professional development should
(1) deepen teachers’ knowledge of the subjects being
taught;
(2) sharpen teaching skills in the classroom;
(3) keep up with developments in the individual fields,
and in education generally;
(4) increase the ability to monitor students’ work, in
order to provide constructive feedback to students and
appropriately redirect teaching
5. Is teaching a profession? It is one of the controversial
questions in the modern society of India. Most
teachers in public and private schools are college
graduates with years training in teaching.
However, many people are thinking that if
"everybody boil water and coach basketball, then
they kind of feel the same way about teaching
6. When the teachers are to be professionalized, the
practitioner-client relationships should be changed,
too. As the patients choose the best medical doctors,
the students (and their parents) should have a
mechanism to choose the best teachers for a
successful education at school. Because of the
changing needs of the teachers will have to be
professionals, much like doctors.
7. Why Teachers are So Stressed...check it out!
When in School we always wondered why teachers
always seemed so mad I know the reason….because
they are so stressed out by kids
Why???????

like teachers reading newspapers in class;
Doing correction, register work
Sitting means passive and expect active
participation of class (students) like students
are playing in ground and physical teachers are
talking.
Use your skills to help kids get on track — and
stay on track
21. Students often feel as though teachers are speaking a
different language and not much else. It's really hard
to learn anything when you can't understand a single
word the teacher says.
How among are you getting in my lecture and
following sincerely
JUST Same is happening in your class.....
22. While the phrase "Go to the principal's
office" has always conjured fear, school is
being haunted by a ghost.
Critics of zero tolerance policies
frequently refer to cases where minor
offenses have resulted in severe
punishments and instead make schools
more like a jail or a prison
Research shows that school suspension
and expulsion result in a number of
negative outcomes for both schools and
students.
No Child Left Behind, we can now
track how well individual students are
doing from year to year
23.
24. Be on time in school and class room
Sit only in staff rooms or in labs or library
Don’t sit anywhere in any empty classroom
Copy correction on time and with proper remarks
Should take attendance regularly in both meeting
Don’t feel jealous with others if they have given extra
work or duties, better try to learn from them so you can
be next….
25. Its foundation is built upon Four Building Blocks of
Education as promoted by the Council for Global
Education, USA:
Universal Values: the spirit ‘to be’
Global Understanding: the heart ‘to love’
Excellence in All Things: the mind ‘to discover’
Service to Humanity: the skills to ‘serve and make a
difference’

Editor's Notes
The following is a question on a physics exam at the University of Copenhagen: "Describe how to determine the height of a skyscraper with a barometer." One student replied: "You tie a long piece of string to the neck of the barometer, then lower the barometer from the roof of the skyscraper to the ground. The length of the string plus the length of the barometer will equal the height of the building." This highly original answer so incensed the examiner that he failed the student who immediately appealed on the grounds that his answer was indisputably correct. The university appointed an independent arbiter to decide the case. The arbiter ruled that the answer was indeed correct, but did not display any noticeable knowledge of physics. It was decided to call the student in and allow him six minutes in which to provide a verbal answer which showed at least a minimal familiarity with the basic principles of physics. For five minutes the student sat in silence, forehead creased in thought. The arbiter reminded him that time was running out, to which the student replied that he had several extremely relevant answers, but couldn't make up his mind which to use. On being advised to hurry up the student replied: "First, you could take the barometer up to the roof of the skyscraper, drop it over the edge, and measure the time it takes to reach the ground. The height of the building can then be worked out from this formula I have worked out for you on my text paper here." Then the student added, "But, Sir, I wouldn't recommend it. Bad luck on the barometer." "Another alternative", offered the student, "is this: If the sun is shining you could measure the height of the barometer, then set it on end and measure the length of its shadow. Then you measure the length of the skyscraper's shadow, and thereafter it is a simple matter of proportional geometry to work out the height of the skyscraper. On the paper is the formula for that as well." "But, Sir, if you wanted to be highly scientific about it, you could tie a short piece of string to the barometer and swing it like a pendulum, first at ground level and then on the roof of the skyscraper. The height is worked out by the difference in a gravitational formula, which I have determined here this time on a long sheet of paper with a very long and complicated calculation." "Or, Sir, here's another way, and not a bad one at all. If the skyscraper has an outside emergency staircase, it would be easier to walk up it and mark off the height of the skyscraper in barometer lengths, then add them up." "But if you merely wanted to be very boring and very orthodox about the answer you seem to seek, of course, you could use the barometer to measure the air pressure on the roof, and on the ground, and then convert the difference in millibars into feet to give the height of the building." "But since we are constantly being exhorted to exercise independence of mind and apply scientific methods, undoubtedly the best way would be to knock on the janitor's door and say to him 'If you would like a nice new barometer, I will give you this one if you tell me the height of this skyscraper'." The student was Niels Bohr, the only Dane ever to win the Nobel Prize in physics. NielsHenrik David Bohr (1885-1962)Danish physicist and one of the foremost scientists in modern physics. He was professor of theoretical physics at the University of Copenhagen and was later director of its Institute for Theoretical Physics, which he helped to found. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1922 for his work on atomic structure and the hydrogen atom. Classical theory had been unable to explain the stability of the nuclear model of the atom, but Bohr solved the problem by postulating that electrons move in restricted orbits around the atom's nucleus and explaining how the atom emits and absorbs energy. He thus combined the quantum theory with this concept of atomic structure. He was also known for his robust jousts, often humorous with Albert Einstein.More important than the actual improvements that individuals contribute, the true value of continuous improvement is in creating an atmosphere of continuous learning and an environment that not only accepts, but actually embraces change; such environment can be created where there is respect for people. We place the highest value on actual implementation and taking action. There are many things one doesn’t understand and therefore, we ask them why don’t you just go ahead and take action; try to do something? You realize how little you know and you face your own failures and you simply can correct those failures and redo it again and at the second trail you realize another mistake or another thing you didn’t like so you can redo it once again. So by constant improvement, or, should I say, the improvement based upon action, one can rise to the higher level of practice and knowledge.Fujio Cho, President, Toyota Motor Corporation 2002 Subhash spoke people ready to die, Gandhi spoke people march, but when Nehru spoke they claps.
