A Report On Financial Institutions
Overview:
Financial institutions continues to be challenged by the inherent risks that are associated to the loss
of customer data through the compromise of security controls. As Information Security continues to
grow, the lack of effective security controls such as authentication continues to one of the key
components leading to data breaches across all industries.
For this purpose, SecureKey contracted with a leading independent security governance, risk
management and compliance (GRC) firm Coalfire Systems, Inc., to provide a security review of
their SecureKey briidge.net Connect solution.
Given that, in the age of Internet banking, recent data breaches continue to raise security awareness.
Consequently, many financial institutions are relying on guidance provided by the Federal
Financial Institutions Examination Council ( FFIEC ), in effort to prevent the risk of identity theft
and fraudulent transactions.
Our assessment of the SecureKey briidge.net Connect solution considered FFIEC requirements for
authentication in an Internet Banking Environment. The objectives of our security review included:
1.An assessment of the overall design and architecture of the SecureKey briidge.net Connect
solution;
2.Technical evaluations of SecureKey s mobile and web applications authentication capabilities; and
3.Monitoring network traffic to confirm that fields which are configured for encryption do not
appear to be transmitting clear text data.

Summary OfAll Summer In A Day By Ray Bradbury
In the story, All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury draws us in, as readers, with a story that takes
place on the planet Venus. The environment of Venus is as described in this quote, It had been
raining for seven years; thousands upon thousands of days compounded and filled from one end
to the other with rain, with the gush and gush of water...fall of showers and the concussion of
storms so heavy they were tidal waves come over the islands... (Bradbury, 1954) With an
environment like this, what type of people would those on Venus be if they had never felt, saw,
or experienced the sun before? The only one that has experienced and remembers the sun is a
young girl, Margot. Margot lived on Earth until she was four years old, unlike the others who
have been living underground in Venus for their entire lives. Because of this, Margot is
constantly facing problems regarding her classmates jealousy of her past opportunities. Without
the sun, she has become, as Bradbury writes, ...a very frail girl who looked as if she had been
lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the red from her
mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened
away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost. (1954, Bradbury) In this short story by
Bradbury, the theme is that jealousy and ignorance can blind us from seeing things how they
really are. This is shown time after time when Margot is harassed, depressed, and isolated
because of her classmates jealousy. To begin, a way that Bradbury shows us that jealousy and
ignorance can shield a person from the truth is through the main character, Margot, who is
constantly being harassed by her classmates. The only reason Margot s classmates harass her is
because she remembers the sun. This makes her different from all the others, who have lived here
on Venus since birth. In this way, they are uneducated or ignorant because they have never
experienced the sun. Because she is different, the classmates take every chance they have to harass
her in any way they can. Right before the sun came out, one of the rare events that Margot was
greatly looking forward to, the classmates ...surged about her, caught her

Compare And Contrast Odysseus And The Nostos
Nostos in its most simple form, means a heroes homecoming. It is a common theme used in
ancient Greek literary works. Homecoming is a great deal to heroes in the ancient epics, as it is
the final step to claiming their kleos (glory). Homer uses this as his main theme in his epic poem
the Odyssey, as it shows the main character Odysseusyearning to return home to Ithaca after
twenty years of being away. The poem portrays Odysseus journey home, however, during his
journey he is constantly driven off course. After ten years, with the help of his main protector, the
goddess Athena, Odysseus finally makes it back home to Ithaca where he reclaims his identity.
Later in 19BC, Vergil who was a roman poet, uses nostos as one of the themes in his epic poem the
Aeneid. The poem portrays the main character Aeneas as a dutiful hero, who has to flee his home,
Troy, and is destined to found Rome (Verg. Aen.1.1). Odysseus and Aeneas nostos are both similar
in the sense that they encounter some of the same sights, they leave behind woman in order to
continue on with their journey and they deal with supernatural forces. On the contrary, the two
heroes are completely different in their motivation. Aeneas reason for his journey is due to his
destiny and duty to establish home for his people. Odysseus, on the other hand has different
reasons as to why he longs to return home. Firstly, he wishes to return to his wife Penelope and his
son Telemachus. Secondly, he tries to attain his

Summary Of The Scarlet Letter Section 1 In The Scarlet Letter
Section 1: Section 1 of the Scarlet Letter covered chapters 1 3. These chapters set the premise for
the story. Speak out the name! That, and thy repentance, may avail to take the scarlet letter off
thy breast. Never! replied Hester Prynne, looking, not at Mr. Wilson, but into the deep and
troubled eyes of the younger clergyman. (58) This peaked my interest as I too wanted to know
who the father is. I also thought it was wrong the way they tried to bribe her into telling who the
father is. I chose this quote because I feel like that is a hint as to who the father is because she
looked at the clergyman .
Section 2: Section 2 we get to know more about Hester Prynne s little girl named Pearl and her
former husband Roger Chillingworth who vows revenge. An imp of evil, emblem and product of
sin, she had no right amongst christened infant. (77) I highlighted this out of my book because I
just completely disagreed with that statement. I feel like no matter how the child was brought into
the world it shouldn t be looked upon as an evil being. Every child is a blessing and has a purpose
so I just didn t agree with this and the fact it said she had no right amongst christened infants.
Section 3: I will never give her up! And here, by a sudden impulse, she turned to the young
clergyman, Mr. Dimmesdale... I will not lose child! Speak for me! Thou knowest, for thou hast
sympathies which these men lack. (94)

Advantages Of Talk And Chalk Teaching Method
PART 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
This section will discuss about the teaching strategy employed by the teacher in teaching
Accountings to the secondary school students. The Talk and Chalk teaching method will also be
discussed.
1.2Background to the Study
Rena (2010) informed that the UNESCO commissioned Report 2009 commented that Talk and
Chalk teaching method may not be appropriate to prepare students to move into the 21st Century.
Gatto (1999) commented that the traditional teaching is inappropriate, teacher centered with no
opportunity for students to learn problem solving skills and to experience the real world situation.
Abd. Aziz (2013) believed that too much emphasis on the pen and papers will result in students
being able to do well in written work but weak in communication skills. Hence, good grades do not

The aim of this study is to establish the challenges of teaching financial accounting in secondary
schools. The result showed that only 25 36 percent of the students in the 9 schools obtained a
credit and others are either failures or ordinary pass. It was recommended to use guided discovery
in order to teach effectively. Guided learning is the teaching of concept in an orderly manner from
general to specific.
Cantrell (2004) suggested that there are two different teaching methods to teach financial
accounting and they are exposition and inquiry. The exposition method is considered to be the
conventional way which involves leader centered, leader active, learner passive and content
emphasis. Some of the examples are lecture, traditional demonstration, discussion, panel discussion,
guest speaker, storytelling, reading of textbooks, drama and handouts or manuals. While the inquiry
method is characterized as leader facilitated, learner centered, leader facilitated, learner active and

Urban Development And Urban Areas
INTRODUCTION
This is the process by which the people are migrating from the rural area to urban area for the
searching the employment opportunities. In the processes increases the number of people living
in the cities among those people who are living in the rural areas. In the process the day to day
become a number of the people increased those who are migrating from the rural area to urban
areas. Most of the people are migrating from the rural to urban because of good quality of facilities
provided by the State. The urbanization is begun during the industrial revolution when workers
move the cities for the work in the factories.
The United Nations report says that the half of the world population would live in urban areas at the
end of the 2008.
The Urbanization is basically connected to industrialization, modernization and sociological
process of explanation. The term urbanization called the level of urban development related to
urban development to overall population. The urbanization means develop those cities where the
all kind of facilities are available for the daily life. Basically, in the urban cities all kind of good
quality of facilities is provided by the states. The rural areas people are know that in the urban
cities good quality of education, health facilities and better employment opportunities, are available
so that the people are migrated from the rural and also saw in the urban area big industries are

The Pacific Northwest Region Is A Good First Step
While we have been focusing on the whole Pacific Northwest region as a whole this class, we have
finally delved into a subregion that is close to all of us: the Inland Empire. This area in the Pacific
Northwest came into being during the late 19th Century and encompassed much of Eastern
Washington, the Idaho Panhandle and parts of Eastern Oregon. The people of this region were very
proud of their land and some even held more pride for the Inland Empire than their own state. This
fierce loyalty to one s home was just as much a product of economic growth as many of the other
changes being see all around the Pacific Northwestin general. The Inland Empire was, and is, an
important subregion that was born of economic development and competition with the cities on the
coast.
To set the stage for the Inland Empire, a broader look at the changes occurring throughout the
Pacific Northwest region is a good first step. Around the late 19th century, the region was
experiencing economic boom. Industrialization of many of the region s commodities like salmon
processing flooded the region with money and immigrants. These peoples came from the Far East
to work in the factories and lumber mills that were making Seattle and other cities such as
Portland and Tacoma booming hubs of trade. Foreigners took note of the changes as well, Rudyard
Kipling was just a young man when he visited the region but he wrote about the progress in his
journals. More Chinamen with yellow, crooked fingers,

The Ethan Couch Case
Affluenza, the guilt or lack of motivation experienced by people who have made or inherited large
amounts of money. The case that brought the term affluenza about was the Ethan Couch case. The
case is about how Couch essentially killed four people but got out of doing time in prison because
of money and his inability to make good decisions thanks to his parents and wealth. The author of
this paper believes that Ethan Couch should have gotten harsher sentencing. The sentence should
have been what you get for vehicular manslaughter because four people died and two people were
severely injured. The reasons that Affluenza is not a valid excuse for getting away with a heinous
crime are, the term was only brought up by a witness during the Couch... Show more content on

Affluenza was used as a reason for Couch needing to have his charges lessened, but in looking
through reasons that someone can have their sentence lessened Affluenza was not among them.
The term itself is just a mix of affluence and influenza. Neither of these things would lessen a
sentence in court by itself, and affluenza is not term even used in any courts nor does it hold
weight as a term. Ethan Couch was old enough to make decisions by himself. He would have
known that drinking heavily and driving was a bad decision. If he had just acted his age he
would have either asked someone to drive him of gotten a taxi to go home, and avoided the
whole incident and not had to go to court. He was 16 years old at the time of the case so he
would have known what he did was wrong. The final issue with the term Affluenza is that the
term itself gives rich people the right to say that Affluenza was the cause of their crime. If
Affluenza is to be used as a valid excuse for a crime then other people would be able to create
their own special reason for why they did their crime. Any rich person or semi wealthy person
could say that they or a relative were affected by Affluenza and could get away with the least
possible punishment when they should have gotten a worse

Video Gaming And High Performance Gamming Computers
In the past decade gamming has evolved from the most simplistic of forms to one of the most
action packed entertainment that rivals that of a movie. Along with games the hardware use to
run those games has also evolved to some of the most advanced technology s we know. With this
new hardware there are different type of systems classifications like consoles, and high
performance gamming computers. Among these two classifications I believe the gamming pc s
are better than consoles. Here I am going to go over why I believe this based on price, functions
available, control of functionality, choices of games, and community size. To start off let s look
at the background of video games and how it evolved in to what it is today. Video gaming
started becoming popular around the 1970 s when Atari released their pong arcade machine.
(Atari, 99)during this time many first generation consoles started being released which included
the Magnavox Odyssey, TV Tennis Electronics, and Home pong. Alongside those consoles home
computers were starting to emerge like the commodore VIC 20, and the Amstrad CPC. (Bagnall
Melick)Even though video gaming at the time was still in its infancy it was still a large factor in
the market for selling of both of these consoles and computers. Also with such a big demand for
video games the technology for both video games and the hardware to run video games got better,
and cheaper. In a comparison that encyclopedia Britannica did between an Apple I Mack from

The Fur Trading Business Of British Columbia
The fur trading business in British Columbia was a struggle for power between the fur traders and
the first nations. Each side wanted to have bargaining power over the other in the tense situation.
However, it is clear that the fur traders held the upper hand in British Columbia in several different
matters. First of all, the fur traders held power of the first nationsmaterial culture, the natives began
to rely on the good fur traders were giving them. Secondly, the fur traders have a massive
advantage militarily over the first nations, allowing the fur traders to subjugate the first nations.
Lastly, the fur traders had control over Native tribes allowing them greater access to information. It
is quite clear that the first nations desired European goods, as they would consistently make
concessions to European fur traders. The new items that Europeans traded to the First Nations
drastically changed the First Nations traditional way of life, making way for European s cultural
imperialism. The introduction of metal tools would make Natives quality of life extremely better,
metal tools helped woodcarving and metal kettles made cooking easier. Natives eventually became
reliant on these imported items, especially gunpowder and ammunition. Conflict between tribes
tended to be decided by who had greater access to power and ammo. Thus, the tribes that refused to
trade with Europeans were left at the mercy of opposing tribes. Moreover, the guns that Europeans
provided to

They think that the girl was living with monkeys. She was name Mowgli after the Jungle Books.
They said when the workers that found her would come near her she would screech and act like a

Culture is something developed over time by a group of people not just created by one person.
Referring back to gender role in society this was not something that humans were born with but it
was created and reinforced over long period of time. Now more recently we can see these
behaviors changing where women work more, men help with chores, and the roles are starting
to merge. Culture also has a way of shaping one s view and values in the world. Culture also
shapes our behavior and our reason for doing certain things which is known as cultural behavior.
The difficult thing about cultures is that no two cultures are the same so it is not a one size fits
all. You have to take time to learn each culture and some cultures you will fit in better into than
others. This is like a work place have that has developed a culture that constantly changes as new
employees come and old one leave. If you are more laid back then you will fit into a work culture
that is more flexible then one that is tightly structured.
Social self is how you think others see you and if you belong and or connect with others around
you. Women in the US tend to prioritize differences and uniqueness construing the self in more
independent terms. This relates to the social comparison theory. The social comparison theory is

The Pros And Cons Of Religious Vaccination
There are several religious exemptions that followers can seem to justify but some cases seem to
be outrageous and a threat to society. One of these exemptions being, religious vaccine exemption
which seems to be a controversial topic even in today s society. Although, there is not an abundance
of religious followers who are against vaccinationa few do seem to rise publicly once in a while
which leads to a media frenzy. Religions such as, Christian Scientists and the Dutch Reformed
Church are some of the religions in the past having followers known of creating controversy in
this topic. In which then, stirs the public on establishing an opinion on who to side with and what
is right and wrong. For example, there are cases where children entering schools are not
vaccinated due to their parent s religious beliefs. Should this extreme violation towards safety be
allowed? No, I believe that most cases of religious vaccineexemptions are morally unjustifiable and
wrong.
Any act that unnecessarily endangers other human beings and society is morally unjustifiable and
wrong. I believe that when there s an option where something can be easily preventable and is
known to be avoidable then it should be accomplished with such method. When someone decides to
purposely chose an alternative option in which danger and negative consequences may become
pertinent and thus, the outcome it is wrong. There s no reason a sane human being should decide to
purposely make a decision which can

Inquisitive of what happened I looked outside and saw a truck flipped over and set on fire with

Since then the cartel violence have grown stronger and led to an estimated 40,000 deaths and

Los Zetas, El Cartel de Sinaloa, El Cartel del Golfo and La Familia MichoacГЎna. However, ever
since President Calderon s war on drug cartels there have been many new smaller cartels created

A Short Note On The Mexican Fusion Food
Koreatown is located in Central Los Angeles. The neighborhood is one of the most densely
populated districts in Los Angeles County with about 42,611 residents per square mile (3).
Koreatown began with the immigration of Koreans to the Mid Wilshire area and began opening
businesses. Many of the businesses include Korean food restaurants, which have become very
popular recently (10). Despite the name of the neighborhood the community is widely complex and
impacts areas outside their boundaries. Korean food has become one of the many elements that
have influenced the surrounding areas (2). Koreatown once catered to the Korean community yet
as a result of the growing Latino community Korean business owners now target this new
demographic (4). The growing Latino population has led to new business ventures and business
opportunities including new food creations and locations that cater to that. Korean Mexican fusion
food is one of the creations that have emerged from Koreatown, specifically the Korean taco trucks
(9). Koreatown evolving into the neighborhood that it is today, Korean restaurants, and Korean
fusion food have all impacted the Korean Americanexperience in the last fourteen years. However,
as the new food creations have been gaining popularity it leads to the question of whether this
fusion of food has overshadowed the growth of the Korean American community. Korean
immigration to the U.S. has been recent and not as long as the immigration history of their fellow

George Santayana And Transcendentalism
George Santayana was an influential 20th century American thinker. He was born is Spain in 1836
and arrived with his family to the United States when a child. Santayana spent a substantial amount
of his time working at Harvard teaching in the department of philosophy. Santayana is often
portrayed as a realist, a materialist, and a naturalist. These entitlements accompany Santayana well
with is his mature philosophy. He was skeptical about religious matters and believed that the
pervasiveness of religious beliefs and faiths are of value of understanding but not accepting or

Either we share Emerson s intuition or we do not. Either we see the beauty of the whole or we do
not. And if we do share Emerson s spirituality, we also share his category of mistakes, the
confusion of the logical relationship between good and evil with the possibility that good deeds or
characters may emerge in response to evil experiences. Later, Santayana concludes that Emerson is
optimistic in regards to his nature, his form of life, or his character rather than his thought.
Although Emerson thinks he is making a critical point, actually it is his gratuitous affection for any
and all things natural, in other words, his way of living rather than a theory or ways of thinking.
Emerson s optimism is something that has to be shown or exemplified biographically, not
vindicated metaphysically or epistemologically. In conclusion, Santayana believes
Transcendentalists think nature is a product of the mind, and without the mind nature would not
exist. Both Calvinism and Transcendentalism were beginnings to a presented belief. In order to
categorize one as such, Santayana describes the mind to be distressed, and have other radical
subjective criticism of knowledge. When these two ideas disappeared, systems ceased to be
sensibly understood. They became only sacred mysteries. Therefore making the transcendental

How Does George Orwell Use Total Control In Animal Farm
Imagine being convicted of a crime you did not commit. When you go to testify against the
accusation, there is evidence that proves you are guilty. Faked evidence. Photos of you in places
you were not. Forged documents with your signature on them. You are found guilty and charged
to life in prison. For crimes you did not do. This was the reality of almost twenty million
Russians during half a century during the Soviet reign. Government officials would fake photos,
documents and in one instance get the nazis to lie and say the person in question was a spy for
them. This was all so none of the arrests would look like they were faked or just because the party

past or future agreement with him was impossible. We also see how some strong individuals are
able to hold onto their memories and resist the censored propaganda put out by the regime. These
are people who refuse to believe what the regime wants them to because like Winston, they don t

Juvenile Delinquency In American Literature
For comic book enthusiasts during the 1950 s, Frederic Wertham was more threatening to the
reader than any fictitious villain that they had read of before. This is because Dr. Frederic
Wertham dedicated his career to attacking the negative impact comic books had on its readers.
Additionally, he discussed the atrocious social implications they produced in American culture.
Wertham took a similar viewpoint to Sigmund Freud in that he believed, one s morals are
strongly influenced by the society in which a person lives. With this view, Wertham sought to
answer the question; why is juvenile delinquency rapidly growing in the United States? In order
to answer this, Wertham decided to blame comic books for being the primary cause of the rise in
juvenile delinquency in the United States (Wertham 100). Wertham s attack on comics is as
Savage believes, most assuredly a pompous, polemical, biased, and poorly documented one
(Savage 96). In analyzing various comics, William Savage s book Commies, Cowboys, and Jungle
Queens, and an excerpt from Frederic Wertham s book Seduction of the Innocent, I hold the belief
that, although Wertham was melodramatic in his attack on comic books, he still held a valid
argument for the negative role comics played in the United States.
To start, I believe Wertham was justified in his belief that comic books constant display of sexism,
racism, and graphic violence, could have negatively impacted a child s development. In his book,

literature authors carefully use diction in order to project who their character is identified or how
they want to be portrayed. In this unit we study how authors creates the individual characters
identity. Focusing on Young man on sixth avenue , The metamorphosis , and Homage to my Hips
we will begin to further our understanding of the creation of identities in text.
Young man on sixth avenue tells the story of a man as he goes throughout the different stages of
his life. In this short story the individual creates his own persona by using different adjectives or
diction to describe his younger self. He spends a great deal of time discussing ... Show more content

Allowing us to assume the type of person they are. Gregor Samsa is another example of how the
author uses specific diction to describe the character, allowing us to characterize the subject.
Throughout the different phases of this story we begin to view him differently. For instance
when the author inputs this small flashback into the story On the wall directly opposite hung a
photograph of Gregor from his army days in a lieutenant s uniform, his hand on his sword, a
carefree smile on his lips, demanding respect for his bearing and rank . This piece of text is very
important because it allows us to identify him as a respectable member of society and not the
slimy scumbag (insect) that he is first viewed as in the story. We as readers sympathize with him
for how he is treated by his family; developing a level of respect for him. Seeing beneath the fact
that he is a bug at the moment. We view his as being a decent guy. Especially with how he
sacrifices his life in order to help his family despite how they treated him. These different ways
that he interacted with the people in the story allow him to create the innocent persona that he
was looking for. Homage to my hips shows us different side of the same coin in essence. On one
side we have a very strong and confident woman while on the other hand we have a slightly
insecure woman. Once again these ideas are

When I Don t Understand You
There are times when I don t understand you. But sometimes I wonder if I ever understood you
at all. As you stand there on the pier, staring out into that damn green light, I find myself sitting
here, chilled to the bone, my thin shoulders wrapped by a thick woollen blanket. I m too tired to
join you, but even if I wasn t, would you even want me to? I ponder this often; do you even want
my company? That green light, the golden girl you adore like no other, she s your alone. Your
vision, your dream, no one else s. The one thing you couldn t have. My arrogant backstabbing
cousin. I never understood what it is you see in her; sure you have a past together. Guess I ll
never truly understand. You do so much just to find her, you go to unbelievable lengths to make
her yours, and... well maybe one day it will happen. No... Maybe is too strong a word. A chance?
Still a little too strong. I still don t know what to make of it, though maybe it s better like this.
You turn your head standing on the cold spot of my back porch, our eyes meet. But all I receive
is a faint smile before you return to your anxious waiting, your vigil. As your hair blows in the
wind a moment of youth flashes across you, you look young. As the vision vanishes you return
as the self made cultured New York millionaire you ve become. The king of bootlegger lane. I
force myself to rise; I m going to do it. I can t stand this obsession anymore dammit, this
unrequited love or whatever the hell you call it. I ve never

Similarities Between Civil Rights And Civil Liberties
Civil Rights and Civil Liberties are two concepts that closely coincide with each other. Put
plainly, Civil Rights are freedoms given to citizens of a country by their government and, Civil
Liberties are their right to practice your Civil Rights. The easiest way to understand these words
is to retrace their first uses. The first use of the idea of Civil Liberties was in 1215, with the
signing of the Magna Carta. It granted the people of England very basic liberties such as protection
of church rights, and protection for barons from illegal imprisonment. As for Civil Rights, uses of
it can be traced all the way back to the Roman empire in the early 300 s. They were the first to
instate religious freedom, but the citizens were later forced to

Persuasive Essay On Whitewater Canoeing
Many people love the excitement of extreme sports. One of those sports is whitewater canoeing,
which involves going over waterfalls and battling strong currents. The problem is that the canoe
can get wedged between rocks and stuff, or the person may be thrown into the freezing water.
Some precautions can be taken, like wearing life jackets and helmets, but the sport is still
hazardous. Age restrictions should be set for whitewater canoeing, because serious injuries or
death may occur from the river features like rocks, branches, and waterfalls. Whitewater canoeing
is a very intense sport. The rocks are dangerous, and people may get hit by their friends paddles if
a collision knocks someone out the boat. Spring water and ice water

Japanese Internment In Canada
Japanese internment plays a big role in Canada s history. Canada s reputation for being nice and
polite is questioned by the internment of Japanese and Japanese Canadians during World War Two.
With a review of the past, it is absolute that the internment of the Japanese people in Canada was
not justified. Internment caused more problems than it solved as it ruined relations between
Japanese people in Canadaand other Canadians, it ruined the futures of all Japanese descendants in
Canada and innocent Japanese Canadians were taken from their homes and families and put into
the camps.
Though relations between white Canadians and Japanese in Canada were not great, internment
created anger and hatred on both sides. Most politicians in the time period ... Show more content on

When the government first started to distrust the Japanese people in Canada, measures were put
in place which marked the first steps of interment. Almost 22,000 of the approximately 24,000
people of Japanese descent living in Canada were removed from their homes and distributed to
various locations across Canada. Seventy five percent were Canadian citizens. ( World War II
Internment , n.d.) This is the result of the government creating a protected zone [160 km from
B.C. coast] which forced all Japanese descendants out of that area. Many of these people moved
were innocent first generation Canadians, still, they were treated as enemies and moved away.
The Japanese being moved sparked debate about whether or not internment was justifiable.
Canadian military officials and the RCMP felt that the Japanese Canadian population posed no
threat and opposed taking any punitive action against them. (McRae, 2017) While most politicians
and most white Canadians saw the Japanese in Canada as threats, some saw it as putting innocent
and harmless Canadians in internment camps. Looking back, those who believed the Japanese
people in Canada were innocent were correct. Their actions were monitored; their rights
suspended. Yet no hearings or trials were ever held and no charges of treason were ever laid ( Facts
Figures , 2011) The politicians and white

Landes Old Regime
Landes proposes that the collapse of the patriarchal Old Regime allowed for a more prevalent
gendering of the public sphere. Offering a revision of Habermas thesis, Landes argues that the
bourgeois public sphere is inherently masculinist, a characteristic that determines both its self
representation and its subsequent structural transformation (7). By focusing on the bourgeois
public sphere between 1750 and 1850 in France, she attempts to provide a feminist perspective on
the birth of the modern public sphere. She examines the social and political dynamics of the Old
Regime, including women s social power in 18th century salons in addition to Rousseau s dislike
of public women. Landes also considers the fate of women and feminism

Miso Park
It s my symbol and I ll cry if I want to
If enough writers use a given object or situation in enough works, we start to recognize and

пЃ¬Some symbols are very easy to detect (common)

In a situation where we encounter purely private symbols, there are some things we can fall back

пЃ¬Some symbols are harder to detect
пЃ¬They are private , meaning that you need a deeper analysis to uncover what the symbol

Use what you know (Foster 248)
пЃ¬What you learn from one book will also apply to future books as well
пЃ¬The only thing that can prepare you to read a certain book is to read the book
Every work teaches us how to read it as we go along (Foster 248)

Other literary example: In the Hunger Games, the Mockingjay pin seems to represent mocking jays

rebellion, and ultimately, Katniss herself; she becomes the Mockingjay.
Media/pop culture example: In Frozen, Elsa s gloves seem to be used to solely hide her magical
power to prevent hurting anyone but the deeper meaning is that the gloves represent Elsa s fear
of showing people who she really is because she is different than the others. Likewise, Hans uses

Nazy Atrocities in the Movie Defiance
Defiance is not a typical holocaust movie, although there are scenes of Nazi atrocities, the story
is more about those Jews who escaped the German camps and fought back for their freedom. It
is based on a true story of the Bielski brothers, they led thousands of Jews to hide from the
Germans in the forests of Nazi occupied Belarus, and they managed to keep them alive for
several years. This movie is historically very accurate except for minor issues that happened in
the movie. The Bielski brothers were actually aggressive with each other to show power over the
rescued Jews, but what was not accurate that the film suggests Asael was much younger than the
other two, he was actually only two years younger than Tuvia, while Zus was four years younger.
In the film, Tuvia kills one of the police officers that killed his parents which was true but he did
not go into emotional distress because of it, he was sending a message that who would kill
Jewish people will be killed too and the fact he killed many others before this officer it did not
matter to him. What was also accurate, in Eastern Europe, the Nazis didn t immediately send
Jews to concentration camps, instead, they created walls around each city, where Jews were
forced to work as slaves, and kept in terror by frequent executions. Until the walls were destroyed,
the Bielskis had many plans to rescue the Jews and guide them to their camp in the forest. It was
daring from the brothers as they had a heave price for

Titanium Research Paper
I chose titanium because it is a very common element and is used for many purposes.
Titanium was discovered in 1791 by amateur geologist, William Gregor, as an inclusion of a
mineral in Cornwall, Great Britain. Gregor recognized there was a new element present in
Ilmenite, when he found black sand by a stream and noticed the sand was attracted by a magnet. He
determined the presence of two metal oxides: iron oxide and 45.25% of a white metallic oxide that
was unidentifiable. After realizing that the unidentified oxide contained a metal that did not match
any known element, Gregor reported his findings to the Royal Geological Society Titanium is
composed of 22 protons, 26 neutrons, and 22 electrons. Titanium has 8 isotopes, 5 are stable and
3 are unstable. Isotopes from Ti 46 to Ti 50 are stable isotopes, Ti 44, Ti 45, and Ti 51 are
unstable isotopes. Electron configuration of Titanium is shorthand [Ar] 3d2 4s2 and longhand is

obtained from iron ore slags. Slag is an earthy material that floats to the top when iron is removed
from iron ore by melting it down. Titanium is part of the metals class of elements. Metals are good
conductors of heat and electricity, most metals are malleable and can be flattened into thin sheets,
most metals are ductile and can be turned into wires, metals possess a metallic luster, metals are
opaque as thin sheets, and metals are solid at room temperature (except Mercury). Titanium exists
in a solid state at room temperature and is very brittle. Titanium is very unreactive and is resistant
to oxygen, acids, chlorine, and other corrosive agents. Titanium gets more reactive at high
temperatures and can also catch fire when exposed to oxygen. Pure titanium can exist

The Buddhist Religion And Its Move Into America
Until about a fifty years ago, most people in the United States did not have much exposure to the
Buddhist religion. Our only impression of it might have been statues of a grinning, bald
Buddha with a large belly at the entrance of most Chinese restaurants. Those statues seemed a
little scary and some thought they should nod or rub the belly as they passed as a gesture of
good luck. The religion has come a long way in the last twenty years. Hollywood celebrities such
as Richard Gere and Tiger Woods and Nobel Peace Prize winner, the Dalai Lama, may have
heightened the appeal and gave some prominence of this religion to the people of the West. The

happiness and relief of suffering is an eight step process. There are three qualities to maintain this
enlightened status: wisdom, mental discipline and ethical conduct. Unlike most Western religions,
there are not a lot of rules and regulations in the Buddhist religion, however there are three
fundamental principles upon which the religion is based. Buddha which is the finding the path of

central religious practice for Buddhists is the intense dedication to meditation. Meditation is the

How To Write A Narrative Essay About Moving
As much as we would like to, we can t plan for everything. Long before we re even aware of them,
these things happen and it s only within our control to make the best of it. One way I ve made
the most out of a decision I couldn t control was when my parents moved us from Naperville,
Illinois, a place I grew up and lived in for 15 years of my life, to Bakersfield, California. The
thoughtof change scared me because Naperville was the only place I had ever known.
The first time the idea of moving was brought up was when I was in fifth grade. One day, my
parents asked out of the blue how I would feel about moving away. My immediate response was
of course no, why would I want to move? I loved my school, my teachers, my house, and most
importantly my friends. I had everything I wanted. They didn t push much after that, they weren t
too serious about it after all. My mom had received a job offer in a different state but they both
agreed that with how young my siblings and I were, now was not the right time for us to move.
I never expected the topic to be brought up again. I always thought I would graduate from the same
high school both of my siblings did with my best friends at my side. I was shocked when sophomore

Christianity has quickly begun to lose its true meaning throughout the years. It s when people use
words like love and morals and common sense they just don t have the same meaning as they once

modernized in such ways that we have deceivingly altered things such as The Ten Commandments
to foolishly fit our desired lifestyles. We have begun a modernization of ChristianityI like to refer to

Christianity is no longer a category in religion, but also a category of specific people ranging
from, yes again, modernized Christians who talk the talk but have no desire to walk the walk; and
those who are called radicles because they live out the Gospel teachings going overseas and
devoting their lives to Christ. Now what are the differences between cultural (modern) Christian
and biblical Christian lifestyles? Well as David Platt put it in his book Radicle, We are settling
for a Christianity that revolves around catering to ourselves when the central message of
Christianity is actually about abandoning ourselves. Basically, David Platt was kindly beating
around the bush about us as an American culture, his book Radicle being strictly about American
Christian culture, being lukewarm in our faith, relationship and devotion to Christ in the way we

you out of my mouth. Harsh? Yeah, probably a little bit, and one might see this and do what many
do in this era; see it, curse it, and go about their lukewarm Christian lifestyle as they have been.

Literature Review On Psychotropic Drugs
Psychotropic Drugs: Is Prozac Being Overprescribed? As the world becomes more
knowledgeable about mental health, psychotropic drugs have become popular in the treatment
of major depression. For example, primary care physicians prescribe psychotropic drugs to
patients who seek help for and complain about their mental issues. According to Smith (2012),
Writing a prescription to treat a mental health disorder is easy, but it may not always be the
safest or most effective route for patients (p.36). Prozac, a popular psychotropic drug, has been
known to cause many uncomfortable side effects while treating major depression. Psychotropic
drugs, while still practical, are not the only treatment for dealing with major depression, and there
will be patients that respond positively towards the drugs while other patients require treatment
such as cognitive behavioral therapy. While the physicians try to cure their patients of the
symptoms of depression with Prozac, major depression often requires additional therapy
alongside the prescribed pills. This literature review considers whether the increased use of
Prozac is appropriate for treating major depression by responding to the following questions:
1.What are the implications of major depression? 2.Is Prozac effective at treating major
depression? 3.Is Prozac safe? 4.Is Prozac the best solution? Because written prescriptions have
become easily accessible, patients often are not aware of less risky treatments that could be more

Mathematics, study of relationships among quantities, magnitudes, and properties and of logical
operations by which unknown quantities, magnitudes, and properties may be deduced. In the past,
mathematics was regarded as the science of quantity, whether of magnitudes, as in geometry, or of
numbers, as in arithmetic, or of the generalization of these two fields, as in algebra. Toward the
middle of the 19th century, however, mathematics came to be regarded increasingly as the science
of relations, or as the science that draws necessary conclusions. This latter view encompasses

The Egyptians used sums of unit fractions (a), supplemented by the fraction B, to express all
other fractions. For example, the fraction E was the sum of the fractions 3 and *. Using this
system, the Egyptians were able to solve all problems of arithmetic that involved fractions, as
well as some elementary problems in algebra. In geometry, the Egyptians calculated the correct
areas of triangles, rectangles, and trapezoids and the volumes of figures such as bricks,
cylinders, and pyramids. To find the area of a circle, the Egyptians used the square on U of the
diameter of the circle, a value of about 3.16 close to the value of the ratio known as pi, which is
about 3.14. The Babylonian system of numeration was quite different from the Egyptian system.
In the Babylonian system which, when using clay tablets, consisted of various wedge shaped
marks a single wedge indicated 1 and an arrowlike wedge stood for 10 (see table). Numbers up
through 59 were formed from these symbols through an additive process, as in Egyptian
mathematics. The number 60, however, was represented by the same symbol as 1, and from this
point on a positional symbol was used. That is, the value of one of the first 59 numerals
depended henceforth on its position in the total numeral. For example, a numeral consisting of a
symbol for 2 followed by one for 27 and ending in one for 10 stood for 2 Г— 602 + 27 Г— 60 + 10.

How To Describe A House Essay
The street I live on has a lot of houses on it, and mine just happens to be one of them. Each house
has its own driveway each one unique in its own way. Most of them are paved driveways, but mine
happens to be made from hard pack. I can picture the driveway when it was built, still in the same
place and still being made of rocks. The driveway to my house is a narrow driveway about as wide
as one and ВЅ car widths. The driveway separates my house from my neighbors and serves as a
place to park cars. It s not perfect and doesn t appear to have been made by professionals. It
doesn t have sharp clean edges, instead it just fades away at the ends. Its composition is not
uniform. Millions of small rocks scattered throughout the driveway, each rock varying in size
from a grain of sand, to a small stone the size of a ping pong ball. Each rock varying in color,
size, shape, and type of rock making each one unique. A strip of grass runs down the length of
one side forming a boundary between the driveway and my neighbor s house. A small concrete
wall runs down the length of the driveway closest to my house and extends out a couple feet. On
the wall is a pit of white colored gravel which is used for drainage. This allows rain dripping from
the roof to land in a gravel pit instead of allowing rain to erode the surface of the driveway. It has
some weeds growing along the edges that sometimes invade bits of the driveway sprouting up in
almost random locations nowhere near the grass.

Death Is Not Bad For Anyone
Death is not Bad for Anyone
Epicurus writes, the argument that death is nothing to us, because when we exist, death is not yet
present, and when death comes, we no longer exist. There are three reasonable previews to support
his view, including: something is bad for someone as long as it must be bad for that person at
specific time; Death cannot be bad for someone when they are dead because the person does not
exist at that time; Death cannot be bad for someone before death actually come. Among these
three reasonable previews, Epicurus draw his conclusion that because there is no time at which
death is bad for someone, so death is not bad for anyone. I m agree with that Death is not bad for
anyone , because death can t affect us since we are died. Although the objection is reasonable, I
still think the Epicurus s response is stronger. The objection is that death can be bad because it
is a deprivation of the good things in life. Our life is full of good things. We have time that we
stay with our parents or hang out with our friends; we have time that we do our hobby and go
traveling to see the world; we have time that we go shopping and eat delicious foods; though
there are still sometimes bad things happens, it emphasis happiness in our life and make our life

A Summary Of Bayer Aspirin
As a result of the calculations made above the concentration of the pure ASA in the 10.0mL of
NaOH in mg/mL, based on the Beer s Law plot found in figure 1.0 was 0.0978mg/mL.
Presumably, the mass (in mg) of pure ASA based on the two consecutive dilutions was
approximately 97.8 mg this value is unsuccessfully proven to match the associated theoretical value
due to the overall percent yield, which will be discussed further. Also, according to the same
calculations made in calculation #1, the calculated mass for Bayer Aspirinwas inaccurate as the
calculated value was less than what was said by the company. In other words, the Bayer Aspirin
did not contain 325mg of ASA, instead it actually contained 283mg. The percent purity of ASA
was calculated to be 65.0 % and based on the reaction table, the limiting reagent was salicylic acid
and manipulations were made with the actual and theoretical yield which gave an overall percent
yield of 53.4%. Furthermore, since this value is less that 100%, it is considered to be a small
percentage yield, this is an indication that the actual yield was less than the theoretical yield. The
reason for such a small value can include the incompletion and/or loss of sample during each part of
the experiment.
Beer s law was involved in the calculations in order to solve for the concentration of the pure ASA
when using the absorbance reading of the prepared ASA in table 3. This method was helpful in

The Characteristics Of Growing Up In The 21st Century
Growing up in the 21st century, it can be very eye opening and intimidating. A majority of
people will start their day by sitting down and watching the news including stories about how
seven just died from a stabbing or another bomb was dropped in the Middle East. As I continue
to grow up, I start to notice the things that are not being talked about, and more specifically, the
topics on news. They will very rarely will pick a positive story over any negative one. The
people that make the world a better place are constantly lost in the shadows of the inconsiderate
acts of inhumanity everyday. There is a small amount of people who are praised or even
recognized for their generous actions, however, there are numerous people that should get this
recognition. For children in this century, having a role model is very important because that
inspires them to become better people, to make a stand for what they believe in, or believe they
have a voice. When one becomes considered an admirable person, there are numerous traits that
make them who they are. Selflessness is almost always lost in society due to the idea of fame and
fortune. A selfless person stands out because they are putting others before themselves, which is not
common in the world. They believe other people are just as important as them, and with
selflessness comes a trickle of other traits like being compassionate and generous. There are many
other characteristics that can stand out in a person, and in addition to

Sex, Gender, Racial Identity, And Stereotyping And...
Art has an interesting way of reinforcing itself through popular culture in western society. A culture
that has a population mixed with many different racial identities, yet cultivates its pop culture
through a black and white preface. The U.S is known to categorize diverse races into one;
highlighting the inferiority other races face while living within our culture. Women have been
idealized and compounded into western society as sex symbols and housewives. Women from other
races non white or Black are not only seen the same way, but are also included in the melting pot of
diluted racial identities formatted from whitening groups. Racial identity hardly sways the
expectations in Women that society sees as normal; rather it highlights the racial discrimination we
reinforce in western culture that derives from improper stereotyping and labeling. Historically,
women are subject to unbound methods of reinforcing genderroles. Today, their sexuality is
exploited so frequently in popular culture, that they have become a sex object, rather than a
housewife. Tom Fords image of a naked female ironing men s pants grasps the concept of both
stereotypes, appealing to the young adults in the United States. Initially, this ad promotes the
ideology of mans superiority over women. Understanding how gender is really portrayed in western
popular culture allows individuals to conceptualize the inferior attitude many ads display towards
women. Through methods of observation,

1)Getting Out of the Comfort Zone.
Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone
Robert Allen, Co author, The OneMinute Millionaire
Remaining in comfort zone it feels good for everyone. To be truth, everyone of us are limiting
ourselves to do things. Moreover, everyone has the fear to learn new things because there are

2)Structural Tension
Structural tension is a type of mechanism in our brain from perspective of psychology. We need
to list our main goals in a separate book called goal book. Then, we need to read it everyday and
make it as habit or discipline. This will activate our power of desire. When our power of desire
increases, our brain closes the gap between the current reality and the vision of our goal.

DACA Informative Speech
In our English class we have been watching the Channel one news, we have been told to pick one
topic to write about. Have you ever wondered what DACA is and what it has to do with the United
States? Do you wonder why the government recently shut down? I m going to be writing about the
DACA program and the effects that is has/had on the United StatesGovernment. President Trump
has to sign a paper to agree with the DACA program and the democrats. The government has shut
down on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 and was reopened on Monday, January 22nd, 2018.
(Collins) The government was shutdown due to a bill called an, appropriations bill . The bill
needed to be signed by President Trump by midnight on January 19th, 2018. The congress failed to
pass a bill that would keep them operating, although the government was shut down not every
government employee was sent home. The workers that were considered to be important on the job
were kept to work. There are many things that will remain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The government reopened on January 22nd, 2018 and is back up and running. The DACA
program is still being discussed and they have not come to a decision on the topic just yet. The
DACA program is used a protection for those that were brought to the United States as children.
It is used as a shield to protect the from being deported, the program also lasts for 2 years at a
time. To be in the program you have to be at least 16 so, if you were brought here before and you
are not at the age of 16 you must go back home. Families do not believe that is a fair agree but
that is the price they have to pay. The government being shut down was a big issue from people
that work in the White House to those who work in the national parks. People were going without
pay and some even going without jobs. The government being shut down was a big effect on many.
Let s hope President Trump gets those papers signed on

St. Thomas More, God s Humble Servant
St. Thomas More, God s Humble Servant Thomas More was a great saint because of his trust in
God and because of the virtues he developed. As a young boy Thomas More was a page of
Archbishop Morton. He excelled at almost everything, and soon became one of Archbishop
Morton s favorites. Archbishop Morton recognized a brilliant mind when he saw one, and
enthusiastic little Thomas certainly was one. The Archbishop asked Sir John More if it would be
ok if he sent Thomas to Oxford University. Sir John hesitated because he wanted Thomas to be a
lawyer not a philosopher. Eventually, The Archbishop persuaded Sir John and Thomas was sent to
Oxford. Sir John only allowed his son a penny every day pennies were worth more than they are

His father was very angry at him because he did not want Thomas to be a priest he wanted him
to become a rich and respected lawyer. Thomas lived like the monks did. He even wore a shirt
that was so rough it would often cause bleeding. Thomas met a monk named Erasmus who
wanted to reform the Church. Thomas promised to help Erasmus. Four years after first coming
to the Charterhouse Thomas decided that he wasn t worthy to be a priest so he went to an Inn
to stay instead. However he still kept to the monastic way of life , and also kept wearing the
rough shirt. Later, Thomas was elected into the Parliament, and even though he was a new
member he was soon to play a key role. The king called a meeting, and asked for ninety thousand
pounds. even though the members of parliament thought the request was unreasonable there was
no one willing to stand up to him. The king was very sure he was going to get his money but
surprisingly Thomas argued so strongly that they only gave the king forty thousand pounds. The
king was so angry he made Sir John More pay one hundred pounds! Sir John told Thomas that he
should get married. Thomas married Jane Colt to the relief of his father. Thomas moved to
Bucklersbury with Jane. They had four children: Margaret Elizabeth, Cecily, and John. Sadly,
Jane died, and Thomas was left with four kids to take care of. He remarried a widow named Alice
Middleton who had a child named Alice. Soon afterwards, Henry VII died and King Henry VIII

The Change In Modern History Have Been Influenced By Many
The change in modern history have been influenced by many factors. Many which have to do with
progress, enlightenment, and new inventions. Three key factors that have changed us into a
modern society are steam engines , mass production and corporations. The invention of the steam
engine, specifically in transportation, has helped this change by helping with speed and efficiency
in transportation and businesses and influencing social lives. Another one of the factors of change
is Mass production, whether it was positive or negative, has had a huge effect on the transformation
to the modern age. It has helped evolve the modern world through economic and social changes
such as the dehumanization of workers, the reversed idea of individualism... Show more content on

The mass production of things affected the skills of the workers because they were no longer
doing multiple things in factories. The workers specialized in one part of the process because of
the use of assembly lines. Therefore, they didn t have the skills that they would ve had if each
person did everything or more than one things. Therefore, they got paid less as a result. The 19th
century assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the
rest so if one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed
in the movie Metropolis.
Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they
were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little
and could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller
Girls (formed in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any
special importance to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a
mass ornament, which doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do
with the the changes made to assembly lines and factories. Workers got paid less since they were
not skilled, and since it was at a faster pace there was more production. The faster pace kept
everyone in check. Therefore, profit

Hazing In Cyberbullying
The internet and the increase in social media use have created a whole new dimension to
bullying and hazing. While cyber bullying is relatively young in comparison to bullying and
hazing, it is no less vicious in nature, and like the Internet, it continues to evolve over time (
National , n.d., p. 1). Policies and procedures need to be continually updated as technology and
the way students communicate rapidly change. There are countless examples of social media
used to bully students. In a case in Iowa, Kiana Phelps was cyber bullied because of her success
in track (Naughton, 2016). According to Naughton (2016), jealous students posted Social media
photos of her working out accompanied with rude and sarcastic comments. The students went so
far as to claim online that Phelps only gets attention because her older sister had died of anorexia
(Naughton, 2016). Obviously, this situation became personal and very hurtful for Phelps but the
school board did not take any action (Naughton, 2016). Another bully case started in a high school
locker room. According to the victim, Sophia Dama, Victoria Neuman, took cell phone videos of
two of the girls, Brianna Kopp and Jenifer Kempka, sitting on the toilet. Sophia Dama later told
her father that Neuman took a picture of her dressing in a stall (Richmond, 2016). According to
sources, Neuman also recorded a teammate put her bare butt on Sophia s head (Richmond, 2016).
The three girls involved in the creating the videos were

Gender And Age Differences In Servant Leadership Analysis
Both articles delivered exceptional valid information while providing reliable surveys. Surveys are
a good indication that the information provided isn t just someone s personal opinion but facts
about any given topic. Both articles alike were difficult to find using a combination of related
keywords in the search engine. For Gender and Age Differences in Servant Leadership, I used the
extended search option to gather a wider selection of articles related to the topic on leadership.
The article, Book by Tulsa psychologist links personality with workplace success, failure, was the
first article I found with reliable information and sources linking personality to leadership style. It
was not as hard to find but took a couple of different tries... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When you are born with certain characteristics, leadership can sometimes come easy. Like Dr.
Brian Hemphill said in the video, age does shape natural born qualities on leadership. A person
at 10 years old that is born with leadership qualities will think differently of those qualities at 40,
50, or 60 years old. In order to gain a following, it is however important to posses these qualities.
Courage is a quality I have difficulty with. I have had this issue since I was a little girl and still
struggle with it in my day to day activities. I find is scary to step out of my comfort zone,
especially if I am taking a big risk on something. It is hard for me to have courage because I don t
like rejection or failure. I have leaded by watching this video that leaders don t become leaders in
a shell. It is necessary to acquire courage and perfect that quality. I could start practicing courage
by giving myself courageous task weekly. An example of this would be gaining enough courage to
cast myself on the ballot for different employee groups at

  • 2. A Report On Financial Institutions Overview: Financial institutions continues to be challenged by the inherent risks that are associated to the loss of customer data through the compromise of security controls. As Information Security continues to grow, the lack of effective security controls such as authentication continues to one of the key components leading to data breaches across all industries. For this purpose, SecureKey contracted with a leading independent security governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) firm Coalfire Systems, Inc., to provide a security review of their SecureKey briidge.net Connect solution. Given that, in the age of Internet banking, recent data breaches continue to raise security awareness. Consequently, many financial institutions are relying on guidance provided by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council ( FFIEC ), in effort to prevent the risk of identity theft and fraudulent transactions. Our assessment of the SecureKey briidge.net Connect solution considered FFIEC requirements for authentication in an Internet Banking Environment. The objectives of our security review included: 1.An assessment of the overall design and architecture of the SecureKey briidge.net Connect solution; 2.Technical evaluations of SecureKey s mobile and web applications authentication capabilities; and 3.Monitoring network traffic to confirm that fields which are configured for encryption do not appear to be transmitting clear text data. • 3. Summary OfAll Summer In A Day By Ray Bradbury In the story, All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury draws us in, as readers, with a story that takes place on the planet Venus. The environment of Venus is as described in this quote, It had been raining for seven years; thousands upon thousands of days compounded and filled from one end to the other with rain, with the gush and gush of water...fall of showers and the concussion of storms so heavy they were tidal waves come over the islands... (Bradbury, 1954) With an environment like this, what type of people would those on Venus be if they had never felt, saw, or experienced the sun before? The only one that has experienced and remembers the sun is a young girl, Margot. Margot lived on Earth until she was four years old, unlike the others who have been living underground in Venus for their entire lives. Because of this, Margot is constantly facing problems regarding her classmates jealousy of her past opportunities. Without the sun, she has become, as Bradbury writes, ...a very frail girl who looked as if she had been lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost. (1954, Bradbury) In this short story by Bradbury, the theme is that jealousy and ignorance can blind us from seeing things how they really are. This is shown time after time when Margot is harassed, depressed, and isolated because of her classmates jealousy. To begin, a way that Bradbury shows us that jealousy and ignorance can shield a person from the truth is through the main character, Margot, who is constantly being harassed by her classmates. The only reason Margot s classmates harass her is because she remembers the sun. This makes her different from all the others, who have lived here on Venus since birth. In this way, they are uneducated or ignorant because they have never experienced the sun. Because she is different, the classmates take every chance they have to harass her in any way they can. Right before the sun came out, one of the rare events that Margot was greatly looking forward to, the classmates ...surged about her, caught her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare And Contrast Odysseus And The Nostos Nostos in its most simple form, means a heroes homecoming. It is a common theme used in ancient Greek literary works. Homecoming is a great deal to heroes in the ancient epics, as it is the final step to claiming their kleos (glory). Homer uses this as his main theme in his epic poem the Odyssey, as it shows the main character Odysseusyearning to return home to Ithaca after twenty years of being away. The poem portrays Odysseus journey home, however, during his journey he is constantly driven off course. After ten years, with the help of his main protector, the goddess Athena, Odysseus finally makes it back home to Ithaca where he reclaims his identity. Later in 19BC, Vergil who was a roman poet, uses nostos as one of the themes in his epic poem the Aeneid. The poem portrays the main character Aeneas as a dutiful hero, who has to flee his home, Troy, and is destined to found Rome (Verg. Aen.1.1). Odysseus and Aeneas nostos are both similar in the sense that they encounter some of the same sights, they leave behind woman in order to continue on with their journey and they deal with supernatural forces. On the contrary, the two heroes are completely different in their motivation. Aeneas reason for his journey is due to his destiny and duty to establish home for his people. Odysseus, on the other hand has different reasons as to why he longs to return home. Firstly, he wishes to return to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus. Secondly, he tries to attain his ... • 5. Summary Of The Scarlet Letter Section 1 In The Scarlet Letter Section 1: Section 1 of the Scarlet Letter covered chapters 1 3. These chapters set the premise for the story. Speak out the name! That, and thy repentance, may avail to take the scarlet letter off thy breast. Never! replied Hester Prynne, looking, not at Mr. Wilson, but into the deep and troubled eyes of the younger clergyman. (58) This peaked my interest as I too wanted to know who the father is. I also thought it was wrong the way they tried to bribe her into telling who the father is. I chose this quote because I feel like that is a hint as to who the father is because she looked at the clergyman . Section 2: Section 2 we get to know more about Hester Prynne s little girl named Pearl and her former husband Roger Chillingworth who vows revenge. An imp of evil, emblem and product of sin, she had no right amongst christened infant. (77) I highlighted this out of my book because I just completely disagreed with that statement. I feel like no matter how the child was brought into the world it shouldn t be looked upon as an evil being. Every child is a blessing and has a purpose so I just didn t agree with this and the fact it said she had no right amongst christened infants. Section 3: I will never give her up! And here, by a sudden impulse, she turned to the young clergyman, Mr. Dimmesdale... I will not lose child! Speak for me! Thou knowest, for thou hast sympathies which these men lack. The Talk and Chalk teaching method will also be discussed. 1.2Background to the Study Rena (2010) informed that the UNESCO commissioned Report 2009 commented that Talk and Chalk teaching method may not be appropriate to prepare students to move into the 21st Century. Gatto (1999) commented that the traditional teaching is inappropriate, teacher centered with no opportunity for students to learn problem solving skills and to experience the real world situation. • 8. The Pacific Northwest Region Is A Good First Step While we have been focusing on the whole Pacific Northwest region as a whole this class, we have finally delved into a subregion that is close to all of us: the Inland Empire. This area in the Pacific Northwest came into being during the late 19th Century and encompassed much of Eastern Washington, the Idaho Panhandle and parts of Eastern Oregon. The people of this region were very proud of their land and some even held more pride for the Inland Empire than their own state. This fierce loyalty to one s home was just as much a product of economic growth as many of the other changes being see all around the Pacific Northwestin general. The Inland Empire was, and is, an important subregion that was born of economic development and competition with the cities on the coast. To set the stage for the Inland Empire, a broader look at the changes occurring throughout the Pacific Northwest region is a good first step. Around the late 19th century, the region was experiencing economic boom. Industrialization of many of the region s commodities like salmon processing flooded the region with money and immigrants. These peoples came from the Far East to work in the factories and lumber mills that were making Seattle and other cities such as Portland and Tacoma booming hubs of trade. Foreigners took note of the changes as well, Rudyard Kipling was just a young man when he visited the region but he wrote about the progress in his journals. • 9. The Ethan Couch Case Affluenza, the guilt or lack of motivation experienced by people who have made or inherited large amounts of money. The case that brought the term affluenza about was the Ethan Couch case. The case is about how Couch essentially killed four people but got out of doing time in prison because of money and his inability to make good decisions thanks to his parents and wealth. The author of this paper believes that Ethan Couch should have gotten harsher sentencing. The sentence should have been what you get for vehicular manslaughter because four people died and two people were severely injured. The reasons that Affluenza is not a valid excuse for getting away with a heinous crime are, the term was only brought up by a witness during the Couch... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Affluenza was used as a reason for Couch needing to have his charges lessened, but in looking through reasons that someone can have their sentence lessened Affluenza was not among them. The term itself is just a mix of affluence and influenza. Neither of these things would lessen a sentence in court by itself, and affluenza is not term even used in any courts nor does it hold weight as a term. Ethan Couch was old enough to make decisions by himself. He would have known that drinking heavily and driving was a bad decision. If he had just acted his age he would have either asked someone to drive him of gotten a taxi to go home, and avoided the whole incident and not had to go to court. He was 16 years old at the time of the case so he would have known what he did was wrong. The final issue with the term Affluenza is that the term itself gives rich people the right to say that Affluenza was the cause of their crime. If Affluenza is to be used as a valid excuse for a crime then other people would be able to create their own special reason for why they did their crime. Any rich person or semi wealthy person could say that they or a relative were affected by Affluenza and could get away with the least possible punishment when they should have gotten a worse ... • 10. Video Gaming And High Performance Gamming Computers In the past decade gamming has evolved from the most simplistic of forms to one of the most action packed entertainment that rivals that of a movie. Along with games the hardware use to run those games has also evolved to some of the most advanced technology s we know. With this new hardware there are different type of systems classifications like consoles, and high performance gamming computers. Among these two classifications I believe the gamming pc s are better than consoles. Here I am going to go over why I believe this based on price, functions available, control of functionality, choices of games, and community size. To start off let s look at the background of video games and how it evolved in to what it is today. Video gaming started becoming popular around the 1970 s when Atari released their pong arcade machine. (Atari, 99)during this time many first generation consoles started being released which included the Magnavox Odyssey, TV Tennis Electronics, and Home pong. Alongside those consoles home computers were starting to emerge like the commodore VIC 20, and the Amstrad CPC. (Bagnall Melick)Even though video gaming at the time was still in its infancy it was still a large factor in the market for selling of both of these consoles and computers. Also with such a big demand for video games the technology for both video games and the hardware to run video games got better, and cheaper. First of all, the fur traders held power of the first nationsmaterial culture, the natives began to rely on the good fur traders were giving them. Secondly, the fur traders have a massive advantage militarily over the first nations, allowing the fur traders to subjugate the first nations. Lastly, the fur traders had control over Native tribes allowing them greater access to information. It is quite clear that the first nations desired European goods, as they would consistently make concessions to European fur traders. The new items that Europeans traded to the First Nations drastically changed the First Nations traditional way of life, making way for European s cultural imperialism. The introduction of metal tools would make Natives quality of life extremely better, metal tools helped woodcarving and metal kettles made cooking easier. Natives eventually became reliant on these imported items, especially gunpowder and ammunition. Conflict between tribes tended to be decided by who had greater access to power and ammo. Thus, the tribes that refused to trade with Europeans were left at the mercy of opposing tribes. Moreover, the guns that Europeans provided to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Culture is something developed over time by a group of people not just created by one person. Referring back to gender role in society this was not something that humans were born with but it was created and reinforced over long period of time. Now more recently we can see these behaviors changing where women work more, men help with chores, and the roles are starting to merge. Culture also has a way of shaping one s view and values in the world. Culture also shapes our behavior and our reason for doing certain things which is known as cultural behavior. The difficult thing about cultures is that no two cultures are the same so it is not a one size fits all. You have to take time to learn each culture and some cultures you will fit in better into than others. This is like a work place have that has developed a culture that constantly changes as new employees come and old one leave. For example, there are cases where children entering schools are not vaccinated due to their parent s religious beliefs. Should this extreme violation towards safety be allowed? No, I believe that most cases of religious vaccineexemptions are morally unjustifiable and wrong. Any act that unnecessarily endangers other human beings and society is morally unjustifiable and wrong. I believe that when there s an option where something can be easily preventable and is known to be avoidable then it should be accomplished with such method. The neighborhood is one of the most densely populated districts in Los Angeles County with about 42,611 residents per square mile (3). Koreatown began with the immigration of Koreans to the Mid Wilshire area and began opening businesses. Many of the businesses include Korean food restaurants, which have become very popular recently (10). Despite the name of the neighborhood the community is widely complex and impacts areas outside their boundaries. Korean food has become one of the many elements that have influenced the surrounding areas (2). The growing Latino population has led to new business ventures and business opportunities including new food creations and locations that cater to that. Korean Mexican fusion food is one of the creations that have emerged from Koreatown, specifically the Korean taco trucks (9). Koreatown evolving into the neighborhood that it is today, Korean restaurants, and Korean fusion food have all impacted the Korean Americanexperience in the last fourteen years. He was skeptical about religious matters and believed that the pervasiveness of religious beliefs and faiths are of value of understanding but not accepting or practicing. And if we do share Emerson s spirituality, we also share his category of mistakes, the confusion of the logical relationship between good and evil with the possibility that good deeds or characters may emerge in response to evil experiences. Later, Santayana concludes that Emerson is optimistic in regards to his nature, his form of life, or his character rather than his thought. Although Emerson thinks he is making a critical point, actually it is his gratuitous affection for any and all things natural, in other words, his way of living rather than a theory or ways of thinking. Emerson s optimism is something that has to be shown or exemplified biographically, not vindicated metaphysically or epistemologically. In conclusion, Santayana believes Transcendentalists think nature is a product of the mind, and without the mind nature would not exist. Both Calvinism and Transcendentalism were beginnings to a presented belief. In order to categorize one as such, Santayana describes the mind to be distressed, and have other radical subjective criticism of knowledge. You are found guilty and charged to life in prison. For crimes you did not do. This was the reality of almost twenty million Russians during half a century during the Soviet reign. Government officials would fake photos, documents and in one instance get the nazis to lie and say the person in question was a spy for them. • 19. Juvenile Delinquency In American Literature For comic book enthusiasts during the 1950 s, Frederic Wertham was more threatening to the reader than any fictitious villain that they had read of before. This is because Dr. Frederic Wertham dedicated his career to attacking the negative impact comic books had on its readers. Additionally, he discussed the atrocious social implications they produced in American culture. Wertham took a similar viewpoint to Sigmund Freud in that he believed, one s morals are strongly influenced by the society in which a person lives. With this view, Wertham sought to answer the question; why is juvenile delinquency rapidly growing in the United States? In order to answer this, Wertham decided to blame comic books for being the primary cause of the rise in juvenile delinquency in the United States (Wertham 100). Wertham s attack on comics is as Savage believes, most assuredly a pompous, polemical, biased, and poorly documented one (Savage 96). In analyzing various comics, William Savage s book Commies, Cowboys, and Jungle Queens, and an excerpt from Frederic Wertham s book Seduction of the Innocent, I hold the belief that, although Wertham was melodramatic in his attack on comic books, he still held a valid argument for the negative role comics played in the United States. To start, I believe Wertham was justified in his belief that comic books constant display of sexism, racism, and graphic violence, could have negatively impacted a child s development. Gregor Samsa is another example of how the author uses specific diction to describe the character, allowing us to characterize the subject. Throughout the different phases of this story we begin to view him differently. For instance when the author inputs this small flashback into the story On the wall directly opposite hung a photograph of Gregor from his army days in a lieutenant s uniform, his hand on his sword, a carefree smile on his lips, demanding respect for his bearing and rank . This piece of text is very important because it allows us to identify him as a respectable member of society and not the slimy scumbag (insect) that he is first viewed as in the story. We as readers sympathize with him for how he is treated by his family; developing a level of respect for him. Seeing beneath the fact that he is a bug at the moment. We view his as being a decent guy. Especially with how he sacrifices his life in order to help his family despite how they treated him. These different ways that he interacted with the people in the story allow him to create the innocent persona that he was looking for. Nazy Atrocities in the Movie Defiance Defiance is not a typical holocaust movie, although there are scenes of Nazi atrocities, the story is more about those Jews who escaped the German camps and fought back for their freedom. It is based on a true story of the Bielski brothers, they led thousands of Jews to hide from the Germans in the forests of Nazi occupied Belarus, and they managed to keep them alive for several years. This movie is historically very accurate except for minor issues that happened in the movie. The Bielski brothers were actually aggressive with each other to show power over the rescued Jews, but what was not accurate that the film suggests Asael was much younger than the other two, he was actually only two years younger than Tuvia, while Zus was four years younger. In the film, Tuvia kills one of the police officers that killed his parents which was true but he did not go into emotional distress because of it, he was sending a message that who would kill Jewish people will be killed too and the fact he killed many others before this officer it did not matter to him. What was also accurate, in Eastern Europe, the Nazis didn t immediately send Jews to concentration camps, instead, they created walls around each city, where Jews were forced to work as slaves, and kept in terror by frequent executions. Until the walls were destroyed, the Bielskis had many plans to rescue the Jews and guide them to their camp in the forest. It was daring from the brothers as they had a heave price for ... Presumably, the mass (in mg) of pure ASA based on the two consecutive dilutions was approximately 97.8 mg this value is unsuccessfully proven to match the associated theoretical value due to the overall percent yield, which will be discussed further. Also, according to the same calculations made in calculation #1, the calculated mass for Bayer Aspirinwas inaccurate as the calculated value was less than what was said by the company. In other words, the Bayer Aspirin did not contain 325mg of ASA, instead it actually contained 283mg. The percent purity of ASA was calculated to be 65.0 % and based on the reaction table, the limiting reagent was salicylic acid and manipulations were made with the actual and theoretical yield which gave an overall percent yield of 53.4%. Furthermore, since this value is less that 100%, it is considered to be a small percentage yield, this is an indication that the actual yield was less than the theoretical yield. The reason for such a small value can include the incompletion and/or loss of sample during each part of the experiment. As I continue to grow up, I start to notice the things that are not being talked about, and more specifically, the topics on news. They will very rarely will pick a positive story over any negative one. The people that make the world a better place are constantly lost in the shadows of the inconsiderate acts of inhumanity everyday. There is a small amount of people who are praised or even recognized for their generous actions, however, there are numerous people that should get this recognition. For children in this century, having a role model is very important because that inspires them to become better people, to make a stand for what they believe in, or believe they have a voice. When one becomes considered an admirable person, there are numerous traits that make them who they are. Selflessness is almost always lost in society due to the idea of fame and fortune. A selfless person stands out because they are putting others before themselves, which is not common in the world. They believe other people are just as important as them, and with selflessness comes a trickle of other traits like being compassionate and generous. There are many other characteristics that can stand out in a person, and in addition to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Sex, Gender, Racial Identity, And Stereotyping And... Art has an interesting way of reinforcing itself through popular culture in western society. A culture that has a population mixed with many different racial identities, yet cultivates its pop culture through a black and white preface. The U.S is known to categorize diverse races into one; highlighting the inferiority other races face while living within our culture. Women have been idealized and compounded into western society as sex symbols and housewives. Women from other races non white or Black are not only seen the same way, but are also included in the melting pot of diluted racial identities formatted from whitening groups. Racial identity hardly sways the expectations in Women that society sees as normal; rather it highlights the racial discrimination we reinforce in western culture that derives from improper stereotyping and labeling. Historically, women are subject to unbound methods of reinforcing genderroles. Today, their sexuality is exploited so frequently in popular culture, that they have become a sex object, rather than a housewife. Tom Fords image of a naked female ironing men s pants grasps the concept of both stereotypes, appealing to the young adults in the United States. Initially, this ad promotes the ideology of mans superiority over women. Understanding how gender is really portrayed in western popular culture allows individuals to conceptualize the inferior attitude many ads display towards women. Through methods of observation, ... • 46. St. Thomas More, God s Humble Servant St. Thomas More, God s Humble Servant Thomas More was a great saint because of his trust in God and because of the virtues he developed. As a young boy Thomas More was a page of Archbishop Morton. He excelled at almost everything, and soon became one of Archbishop Morton s favorites. Archbishop Morton recognized a brilliant mind when he saw one, and enthusiastic little Thomas certainly was one. The Archbishop asked Sir John More if it would be ok if he sent Thomas to Oxford University. Sir John hesitated because he wanted Thomas to be a lawyer not a philosopher. Eventually, The Archbishop persuaded Sir John and Thomas was sent to Oxford. Sir John only allowed his son a penny every day pennies were worth more than they are today... Thomas lived like the monks did. He even wore a shirt that was so rough it would often cause bleeding. Thomas met a monk named Erasmus who wanted to reform the Church. Thomas promised to help Erasmus. Four years after first coming to the Charterhouse Thomas decided that he wasn t worthy to be a priest so he went to an Inn to stay instead. However he still kept to the monastic way of life , and also kept wearing the rough shirt. Later, Thomas was elected into the Parliament, and even though he was a new member he was soon to play a key role. The king called a meeting, and asked for ninety thousand pounds. even though the members of parliament thought the request was unreasonable there was no one willing to stand up to him. The king was very sure he was going to get his money but surprisingly Thomas argued so strongly that they only gave the king forty thousand pounds. • 47. The Change In Modern History Have Been Influenced By Many The change in modern history have been influenced by many factors. Many which have to do with progress, enlightenment, and new inventions. Three key factors that have changed us into a modern society are steam engines , mass production and corporations. The invention of the steam engine, specifically in transportation, has helped this change by helping with speed and efficiency in transportation and businesses and influencing social lives. Another one of the factors of change is Mass production, whether it was positive or negative, has had a huge effect on the transformation to the modern age. It has helped evolve the modern world through economic and social changes such as the dehumanization of workers, the reversed idea of individualism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mass production of things affected the skills of the workers because they were no longer doing multiple things in factories. The workers specialized in one part of the process because of the use of assembly lines. Therefore, they didn t have the skills that they would ve had if each person did everything or more than one things. Therefore, they got paid less as a result. The 19th century assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the movie Metropolis. Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little and could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller Girls (formed in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any special importance to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a mass ornament, which doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do with the the changes made to assembly lines and factories. Workers got paid less since they were not skilled, and since it was at a faster pace there was more production. The faster pace kept everyone in check. Therefore, profit ... • 48. Hazing In Cyberbullying The internet and the increase in social media use have created a whole new dimension to bullying and hazing. While cyber bullying is relatively young in comparison to bullying and hazing, it is no less vicious in nature, and like the Internet, it continues to evolve over time ( National , n.d., p. 1). Policies and procedures need to be continually updated as technology and the way students communicate rapidly change. There are countless examples of social media used to bully students. In a case in Iowa, Kiana Phelps was cyber bullied because of her success in track (Naughton, 2016). According to Naughton (2016), jealous students posted Social media photos of her working out accompanied with rude and sarcastic comments. The students went so far as to claim online that Phelps only gets attention because her older sister had died of anorexia (Naughton, 2016). Obviously, this situation became personal and very hurtful for Phelps but the school board did not take any action (Naughton, 2016). Another bully case started in a high school locker room. According to the victim, Sophia Dama, Victoria Neuman, took cell phone videos of two of the girls, Brianna Kopp and Jenifer Kempka, sitting on the toilet. Sophia Dama later told her father that Neuman took a picture of her dressing in a stall (Richmond, 2016). According to sources, Neuman also recorded a teammate put her bare butt on Sophia s head (Richmond, 2016). The three girls involved in the creating the videos were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was not as hard to find but took a couple of different tries... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When you are born with certain characteristics, leadership can sometimes come easy. Like Dr. Brian Hemphill said in the video, age does shape natural born qualities on leadership. A person at 10 years old that is born with leadership qualities will think differently of those qualities at 40, 50, or 60 years old. In order to gain a following, it is however important to posses these qualities. Courage is a quality I have difficulty with. I have had this issue since I was a little girl and still struggle with it in my day to day activities. I find is scary to step out of my comfort zone, especially if I am taking a big risk on something. It is hard for me to have courage because I don t like rejection or failure. I have leaded by watching this video that leaders don t become leaders in a shell. It is necessary to acquire courage and perfect that quality. I could start practicing courage by giving myself courageous task weekly. An example of this would be gaining enough courage to cast myself on the ballot for different employee groups at ...
