Thesis Statement Of Architectural Drawing
CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
An artist can make a cart with square wheels, but an architect can t Louis Kahn, American Architect.
An architectural drawing is a technical drawing of a structure or building. These are used by
architects to develop a design, to communicate their ideas and concepts, to convince clients, to
enable a building contractor to construct it, and to make a record of a building that already exists.
Drawing, sketches and animations are just some of non verbal languages used by architects to show
their works. Truly, architects communicate through drawings. Architecturestudents are going to be
doing a lot of drawing in their five years. Sketching and drawing will seems to be the foundation ...

David And Goliath Compare And Contrast
In the poem Casey at Bat and story David and Goliath, a comparison of David and Casey shows
differences and similarities. In the story David and Goliath , David is similar to Casey from Casey
at the Bat because David isn t afraid to lose just like Casey. The text states that David was a sheep
tender, and Casey was a baseball player, their both different but they had one goal, to win! They
both were supposed to win anyway. Another way Casey from Casey at the Bat , and David from
David and Goliath are similar is because they are both boys. They are both boys because the text
states that David was a boy, because who would name their girl David, and Casey is a boy because
girls do not play baseball. This is a fact because people have been to baseball games and seen that
they are boys, girls play softball, boys play baseball.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The text states that Casey s goal was to hit the ball and not let his whole town down, and David s
goal was to kill the giant who was threatening his army and town because he said, ВЁGod will
protect me.ВЁ This is because David and Goliath were very different people with two of the same
goals, 1 to defeat the other opponent, 2 was to make their kingdom happy. In addition, one of the
differences between David from and ВЁDavid and GoliathВЁ and Casey from Casey at the BatВЁ
is that David is from the bible and Casey is a baseball player. This is known because the poem we
read in class about Casey is that he is a baseball player because baseball is the only game that uses
a bat. (and softball (female version of baseball) is too.) Also, David is from the bible because
people have read this story in the bible, so they are both different characters. The second
difference between Casey and David is that David is a young boy, and Casey was a man when he

The Child Of Polish Immigrants
Born on April 29, 1938 in Queens New York Bernie Madoff was the child of Polish immigrants.
Madoff showed little interest in his early years for finance. He went on to graduate from Hofstra
University and married soon after. Madoff used a modest $5,000 he had saved and $50,000
borrowed from his father0in law to begin his investment firm in the 1960s. On December 11, 2008
it all came to an end. Madoff would go on to plead guilty to 11 felony counts including but not
limited to securities fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and perjury. Prosecutors
would claim that over $170 billion was moved through Madoffs firm over the years, just prior to
his arrest 65 billion dollars was being shown on the financial statements. Bernie Madoff ran what is
by extreme measures the largest Ponzi scheme in world history. His investment company was
multinational and at its height handled more than five percent of the total trading volume on the
New York Stock Exchange. Ponzi schemes are operations in which the operator pays investor
returns from new capital paid to the operator by new investors rather than from profit earned. Ponzi
schemes often begin as legitimate investment businesses until the legitimate investment business

Leak About Thomas Perez Essay
Leak About Thomas Perez
Leaks of government affairs have always been common in Washington DC. When a person first
hears the word leak, they most likely think of a story that was not meant to be published or shown
to the public, but this is not always the case. Some politicians or government officials will leak
information just to see a reaction from the general public. This tactic is called a trial balloon. This
tactic is seen in an article that was posted in The New York Times in 2014 about the possible
nomination of Labor Secretary, Thomas Perez, for Attorney General.

A trial balloon allows the White House to test the response to a potential nominee and unleash a
round of public vetting before the president puts his prestige on the line . This shows that a trial
balloon is just a common tool for politicians in government to utilize. The president wanted to put
out his potential nomination in order to see the response he would get.
The author of the article then goes on to talk about the response from both sides of the political
parties. The author states that the nomination of Perez would be strongly supported from minority
groups while Republicans would strongly disagree with this nomination. The author shows no
preference as to whether he agrees with the President but instead examines both sides and the
different responses he would most likely get. He states that the Republicans think that Perez is just
going to bring in more illegal immigrants to take American jobs and that democrats believe his
modest upbringing and the fact that he worked his way through college would make him a good
candidate. President Obama can use all of this information when deciding on who he will
eventually nominate for Attorney

Essay on An Exploration of Vegetarianism
I.Thesis Definition
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the trend of vegetarianism and its steady increase in
popularity in the United States, the possible causes behind the existence of this trend, its effects on
our general society and the practicing population, and finally, the future of vegetarianism. For the
purpose of this paper vegetarianism is described as a plant based diet (fruits, vegetables, etc), though
the most important factor being the total exclusion of meat, not including fish for most practitioners.
While numerous sub levels of this lifestyle exist, including veganism (abstaining from the use of all
animal products) and semi vegetarianism (a person cutting back on meat intake), this study will
focus mainly on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1992, as the medical evidence supporting this lifestyle skyrocketed, the American Dietetic
Association officially endorsed vegetarianism, thus solidifying a prominent argument for the
credibility of the vegetarian diet. From the 1990s to present day, the amount of practitioners has
markedly increased, and appears to be continually growing at a steady rate. According to a 2008
study conducted by the Harris Interactive Service Bureau on behalf of Vegetarian Times magazine,
roughly 3.2 percent of U.S. adults, or 7.3 million people, follow a vegetarian based diet. In
addition, 22.8 million Americans maintain to follow a vegetarian inclined diet, while 11.9 million
are definitely interested in becoming a vegetarian in the future ( Vegetarianism ). While no concrete
evidence of a current rise yet exists, researchers speculate that, because of new environmental and
health concerns, more people are, and will be, turning to vegetarianism to assist these issues
(Rohrer).
III.Causes of Vegetarianism
Environment
Environmental vegetarianism centers on the ever increasing alarm that mass production of meat
and animal products, particularly through factory farming, is environmentally unsustainable. As
reported by a 2006 United Nations initiative, the livestock industry is ...one of the largest
contributors to environmental degradation worldwide, and modern practices of raising animals for

What Steroids Can Do To Your Body
A bloodcurdling feeling spreads throughout the arena, a smell so menacing that even the men
inside the ring don t know what will happen next. The roars of men are zipping through the air as
bodies are torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago
were people competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been
a part of humannature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on.
Certainly competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a
daily basis, competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years
began to pass competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for
their lives fighting against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own.
Today, we no longer face the life or death bouts over a single meal. The sense of competition has
not dulled, yet it has been moved from a daily survival to more of an extravagance for viewers to
behold the abilities of others in awe. These days, the most anticipated competitions are held in
football stadiums, boxing rings, and weight rooms. The rewards for today s gladiators consist of
bragging rights over a rival, worldwide notoriety, and large sums of money. Being the best at what
we do, getting the feeling that you are number one is what we as humans have always strived for.
No matter what the cost had been we always took another step forward

Cause Of Mass Shootings
As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United
States history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed
58 and wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also
look at the Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane).
Shootings in America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that
nowhere is safe. The examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no
matter where you go there is now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone
who was in the Vegas attack. Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you
see someone next to you drop dead because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a
panic trying to get to cover. You witness people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles
up. How did this occur? Why are these shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible
situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health
Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass shootings are increasing with more lives being lost.
It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in
America. Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America
has 4.4 percent of the world s population, but has 42 percent of the world s

Population Health As A Unifying Force For Health Care...
History Population health is a unifying force for then health systems intervention from prevention
and promotion to health protection, diagnosis, treatment and care. Population health integrate the
balance and action between each of the following. According to the Public Health Agency (2015),
January 1997, the federal, Provincial and Territorial Advisory Committee on Population Health
defined population health as the health of a population as measured by health status indicators and
as influenced by social, economic and physical environment, personal health practices, individual
capacity and coping skills, human biology, early childhood development , and health services.
Population health builds on a long tradition of public healthand health promotion. In 1974, the
federal government s White paper, A New Perspective on the Health of Canadians, proposed that
changes in lifestyles or social and physical environments would likely lead to more improvements in
health that would be achieved by spending more money on existing health care delivery systems.
This report gave rise to a number of highly successful, proactive health promotion programs that
increased the awareness of the health risk associated with certain personal behaviors and certain
lifestyles such as smoking, alcohol, fitness and nutrition. Population health is important because it
focuses on the interrelated condition and factors that most closely influence the health of
populations over the life

Serena Joy, she used to be a powerful woman, but Galilea s government seems without freedom
or choice. She worked as a gospel singer and anti feminist activist and crusader for traditional
values in Pre Gilead times. After that, she used to give speeches as a television personality who
promoted an anti feminist about the sanctity of the home she was advocating the women return
to the home and submission to their husbands. Now, she s the commander s wife. Atwood makes
it obvious how unhappy she is in the current domestic situation, acting as a wife, she is broken
inside. This unhappiness derives from the restrictive and male dominated society. Gilead s
society cannot bring happiness even to its most powerful women. Only men have the freedom
of reading, and while he is in the room he opens the Bible and reads a verse that Serena Joy is
identified with, Give me children, or else I die. Am I in God s stead, who hath withheld from
thee the fruit of the womb? Behold my maid Bilhah. She shall bear fruit upon my knees, that I
may also have children by her. (88) This verse in the bible is talking about how she wants to bear
children. In Gilead, they make their people believe that if they cannot have children, then they
should die. If Serena could not bear children, she will be sent to the colonies to die. Atwood shows

Analysis Of Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding
Comparison Visual Analysis In the previous writings I wrote about Hendrick van der Burch, An
Officer and a Standing Woman . I wrote on how well he composed the figures, the use of color and
light throughout the image, and the amount of symbolism. I ended the paper saying I will compare
this painting to another, and I chose Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding. The contrast and the
similarities are great between the two the artist. First of all they re both oil painters and from
Northern Europe, specifically Netherlands. Although they re from the same location, the both lived
in two different time eras being 200 years apart from another. Starting with the composition of the
figures of Hendrick s paintingwe see three human figures and an animal. The male figure is
sitting down on a chair slouched drinking white wine, while wearing his officer uniform. The
other two female figures appear to look like servants; one standing next to the officer, and the
other in the background in another room sewing clothes. To compare this to Van Eyck s painting
this is similar. In the foreground they both have a man and woman together, both being the main
focus of the painting. The use of space in both of the images are quite beautiful. In one image we
have three figures and an animal, and in the other one it two figures and an animal. Hendrick
added another room to his image showing that it s a big room, while Van Eyck did something that
was pure marvelous. He added a small mirror to the back wall

The Theme Of Knowledge In Seed By Lisa Heathfield
Seed, a book by Lisa Heathfield, applies the idea that knowledge is power, but ignorance is bliss
through the character development of Pearl, the depth of settings and ambiguity. Seed s narrative
quality explores that knowledge does not always make one influential, however, not acquiring
knowledge is a relieving sensation.
The development of Pearl was highlighted through the narration of the book, explicitly describing
how she felt when Ellis would express his conflicting opinions on Papa S s practices. The narrative
of Pearl conveyed her as an innocent character who was unaware of the good from people outside
of her cult, named Seed. She preferred not to bother herself with teachings other than what Papa S
taught the cult. Nonetheless, her beliefs changed gradually from the appearance of Ellis. He told
Pearl about his experiences outside the cult, which signifies the power he could have with his
knowledge. Ellis was more educated than the children of the cult, therefore, he would ... Show more

which was unsettling and frightening for Pearl. Her reaction provided perception into how

Krishna s World View
The Bhagavad Gita uses the conversation between Pandava Prince Arjuna and his guide Lord
Krishna to portray Hinduism world view and Krishna s view on the different fundamental
questions. When he s facing a war, Arjunais guided by Krishna to be a selfless leader, and
dedication to the cause.
Origin, this fundamental question focuses on why is there something rather than nothing. One
important aspect of the Krishna world view is that, there is one ultimate reality in which everything
was already in existence. The Brahman, as the ultimate reality is known, is what manifested
anything that has been created. Thus, as it is stated in Rigveda, that existence was ... Show more

You cannot make out what exists in it, yet it is there. It is this very fineness which ensouls this
entire world, it is the true one, it is the soul. and Everything that exists has its self in that subtle
essence. (1.4 1 7) * Krishna pointed out in Bahagavad Gita that the impermanent has no reality ,
that the spirit was not born; it will never die and thus, the spirit kills not, not it will be killed.
(2.16) in the same section, he also described the ones who thinks a spirit kills and the ones who
think a spirit can be killed, are both ignorant. The spirit then in Krishna s view, is immortal and
everlasting. * As the prince asked Lord Krishna on whether he should kill for the war, Krishna
used the arguments above and more to show that there would be transcendence and so on, and
when a person is killed , his or her spirit would just throws away its worn out body and enters a new
one.
Krishna also addressed the issue of the attachment over reality. * Krishna pointed out that most
people are afraid of death, and that the ignorance described previously is what preventing them
from achieving immortality. Only those who have realized that the impermanent has no reality and
the reality lies in the eternal; and have seen the boundary between these two would have attained
the end of all knowledge. (Bahagavad Gita 2.15) * He sees that the human seeks only the
gratification of desire as the highest goal; seeing nothing beyond; (Swami 16) is being

The Pros And Cons Of Anabolic Steroids
Anabolic steroids are a very controversial issue, commonly covered in the mainstream media of
today. Anabolic steroid is the common name for a synthetic version of the male sex hormone
testosterone, although the full terminology of these are androgenic anabolic steroids. Anabolic
being the synthesis of new muscles and androgenic meaning a boost of male sexual characteristics
(National Institute of Drug Abuse, 2012). Most commonly utilized by amateur body builders or just
people trying to bulk up, the synthetic testosteroneis banned in all levels of sporting competition, for
quite blatantly giving an unfair physical advantage to the user. Anabolic steroids are frequently
identified as the most effective muscle gaining supplements around, although studies have shown
how they can have negative effects over long periods of time, both physically and socially,
indicating reasons why the potentially dangerous supplements is illegal. This often brings up a lot
of controversial discussion surrounding their uses.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both men and women who regularly use gym facilities or find another effective means of
working out, especially those that are trying to put on more general muscle mass, will rightfully
argue that use of steroids is by far the most efficient method to do so. Anabolic steroids cut out
fat, allow for more oxygen to reach the muscles and make room for more pure muscle to grow
(Fahey, T.D. 1998). Socially they can enhance both the performance and aesthetic appearance of
the user, giving the user a new found confidence which can help them out in all areas of life and
interaction with other people. Sexual arousal and performance is also significantly boosted through
the use of steroids, being a positive for anyone in a steady relationship. These can be attractive
propositions to many younger adults and will have them supporting the legal use of these hormone

Unraveling Bolero Song Analysis
The Unraveling Bolero podcast was about Anne Adams who was once a cell biologist in cancer
research, and Maurice Ravel a composer. Born 65 years apart, Adams and Ravel were affected
by the same disease, Frontotemporal Dementia (Abumrad). Frontotemporal dementia involves
progressive nerve cell loss (Frontotemporal Dementia). After Anne Adams son was in a serious
car accident, she decided to stay home and help him recover. Once he was healed and walking
again, she decided to quite cancer research, and pick up painting. She had not painted since high
school, and now she was suddenly a full time artist. She would paint houses and buildings, then
strawberries, and many things in a repetitious way. She would paint the same theme for a while,
and then change. She became obsessed with painting, and sold her art. Then, she heard Bolero,
she could not stop listening to it. She painted it, every note was a color, and the size of each note s
colored rectangle depended on the volume of the note. She called it Unraveling Bolero. Six years
after this painting, everything changed. Adams started losing memory, and the ability to speak. She

Majority of the passengers died due to the lack of lifeboats that the ship provided. The survival rate

Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The following year, the group met once

response their productions generated the year prior. Now newly renovated (with the installation

Apollo 11 Footprint Essay
The Most Important Footprint
Twenty Six year old Laura Polacek tucked her children into bed at 8:30 P.M. on an exceedingly
warm Sunday in July. The exact date was July 20th, 1969. Laura walked back into her cramped
living room to join her husband, sister, two cousins, and mother. The television was on Channel 3,
broadcasting the coverage of NASA s first Moon landing. Apollo 11had landed on the Moon s
surface at 8:18 P.M. Six hours later, Neil Armstrong emerged from the capsule at 2:38AM,
climbed down the modules latter and became the first man to place his foot on the moon. Laura
Polacek s recollection, nearly forty seven years after the fact, of this event is similar to those who
watched all over the world (Polacek). From July 16th to July 24th, 1969, six hundred million
people had their eyes on NASA; more specifically, Apollo 11 (Reed). For this time, this had been
the most people to watch a broadcasted event on television ever. A combination of strenuous
preparation and dedication made it possible for the United States to be the first country to put a
man on the moon. This milestone left a tremendous impact on not only the United States, but other
countries as well.

Whatever way that I decide to go I will always be helping someone, somewhere. I have looked at

school, with a highly recommended nursing program. North Dakota is one of the only states left

not the right choice for me since I am planning to stay in North Dakota. This would mean I
would have to work in minnesota or take a job in North Dakota and work under a different title
with less pay and benefits. Another benefit that accompanies going to a four year nursing
program is if i wanted to higher my education it would be in my best interest to have the extra
two years behind me. My next step in becomming a registered nursing is a little sidetracked. I
want to be come a CMA. A CMA is a certified medical assistant. Once I become a CMA I will have

Historically, Quebec was not first colonized by British immigrants but the French, and claimed

Thoth Research Paper
The gods and goddesses of Greek culture correlate with those of other ancient polytheistic
cultures. Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, war and weaving, and one of the few female
wisdom gods in ancient cultures (Cartwright 1). In Mesopotamian culture, the goddess of wisdom,
arts, crafts and magic was known as Ea or Enki (Mark, Enki 1). Thoth was the Egyptian god of
wisdom, magic, and writing. Egyptians considered him one of the most important gods of their
culture (Mark, Thoth 1). They are all the centers of knowledge in their respective spiritual worlds,
but Athena also uses her wisdom to assist the people in battle and to help them fight strategically.

Similarly, Thoth, the Egyptian God, was born from the forehead of Set, a leader among the
Egyptian gods. Unlike Athena, Thoth created himself through the Seed of Horus before erupting
from Set (Mark, Thoth 1). Enki was born, unlike the others, in the usual manner. His parents were
the Sun God, Anu and Namunu, the mother goddess (Mark, Enki 3). Athena and Thoth s birth
from the head symbolize their wisdom and focus on knowledge. Athena s physical appearance
contradicts that of Thoth, but is comparable to that of Enki. Athena s femininity distinguish her
from the other gods of wisdom. She, like the other Greek gods, has the body and appearance of a
human being, but her beauty outshadowed those of the humans. Enki had wings and a long beard,
but otherwise has a human figure. He looked as though he was an elderly philosopher, which was
fitting because he was the holder of all knowledge in the Mesopotamian culture. Thoth s head was
that of a blue bird, and his body was muscular. He did not have human beauty and was known for
being inhumanly strong. The masters of wisdom s beauty and grace reveal that they are more than

Energy Crisis Interrelated to Global Warming....
Energy Crisis Interrelated to Global Warming. Photovoltaic Cell A Possible Solution Abstract
The world s energy crisis has worsened in recent years, as oil prices dramatically increased due to
the limited amount of available oil. Global warming is considered as a byproduct of energy crisis,
because as oil continues to burn in the refining process, CO2 is constantly emitted to the
atmosphere at a fast rate and in heavy concentrations, which in turn, worsens the global warming
situation. Photovoltaic cell technology converts sunlight into direct current electricity. This source
can be a possible solution to solve the energy crisis as well as the global warming issue.

One of the possible solutions to solve these problems is the replacement of renewable energy,
solar energy, which converts sun energy directly to usable energy such as electricity. This will
possibly slow down the process of energy crisis and global warming. 3 Results and Discussion
Almost everything in our daily lives depends on oil as a major energy source, automobiles,
freeways, commutes, air travel, food and heater/air conditioning. Since the production of oil is
considered cheap and convenient in economic terms, people rarely consider alternative sources
of energy. Until recently, the energy crisis has worsened. This is indicated by the rising of oil
prices. The world, especially the U.S. is highly depending on the Middle Eastern oil because oil
productions in other places are constantly declining. Not only city residents are dependent on oil,
but also the farmers. Farmer represents 2% of the American population, but they can produce
enough food for the rest of the 98% of the population due to the help from the oil powered
machineries. It is estimated that it takes approximately one ton of oil to produce one steer. (The
Coming World Energy Crisis, 2005). Since oil is a non renewable energy source, the oil
production will definitely be depleted. The world has already consumed about half of the
endowment of oil, and the discovery rate for new oil has decreased in the past 40 years. As the
world population increases, the corresponding

Flannery O Connor s Good Country People has a steady demonstration of irony, much of it based

This biblical allusion to the way Jesus washed away the shame and sin of his followers
demonstrates the way Hulga views Manley s innocence in contrast to her all knowing capabilities.
The irony is that Hulga s assumptions about Manley again demonstrate her own ingenuousness.
When Hulga is left in the barn without her leg, the reader knows that a different Hulga will
emerge. O Connor indirectly specifies that the theft of her leg and the betrayal by Manly leaves her
totally dependant on the grace of God. Ironically this makes Manly the lashing force of grace upon
which Hulga is now dependant.
O Connor shocks Hulga out of her state of satisfaction by bringing her into an awareness of her
meagerness in the eyes of God. This happens in a way that is emotionally cruel to her. Since the
beginning of the story and throughout, Hulga shuts herself off from a spiritual union with God. She
thinks she possesses everything she needs to be a functionally whole person; however the reader
can see that this isn t so through her incident with Manly and how heavily she becomes dependant
on someone else. In effect, Hulga s situation can be expressed as an argument between religions

Argumentative Essay On Horoscopes
Horoscopes are frequently consulted in day to day life. They are a diagram of the heavens,
showing the relative position of planets and the signs of the zodiac (Dictionary.com, 2015) that
use the time of a birth to foretell events in a person s life. People have attempted to explain the
seemingly illogical events of life such as: wars; weather abnormalities; economic hardship, and the
link between people s lives to the stars above. This resulted in the making of a combination of
religion and science astrology(Grabianowski. E, 2005). While most people who read daily
horoscopes treat them as nonsense, others use them to guide their lives are more than likely
influenced by them. There has always been an argument about the reliability of horoscopes and
whether people should blindly place their faith in them or not. It needs to be determined whether
astrology should be treated as a real science instead of a pseudoscience; whether people should live
by their horoscopes; if different religions have their own way of reading and making horoscopes;
and what people use horoscopes for.

However, sand is not the only material needed for making glass containers. Other materials are
also added to the process to help glass with its working properties at high temperatures and to
provide it with chemical resistance in use(Saint Gobain). In addition to new raw material, Saint
Gobain Containers is also a Green Company which uses as much recycled glass as possible.
Glass is one of the few packaging materials that can be recycled indefinitely (Saint Gobain).
Melting Glass melting is a HOT process. When melting glass a continuous heat of over 2500
degrees Fahrenheit is needed in order to obtain optimal quality. This is done by Saint Gobain
Containers by using reliable energy resources such as natural gas and occasionally fuel oil.
Being a Green Company includes using energy resources which provide low emissions. Natural
gas provides a low emissions level and thus is Saint Gobain Containers main source of heating
energy. This is also less expensive overall when compared to oil fuels. Other energy comes from
an electric boost which is used to operate machinery and air supplies for the heating sources. Using
efficient heating sources has been one of the leading factors in lowering the operating cost of Saint
Gobain Containers in the last two years.
Conditioning
Once the heating process is completed conditioning must take place in order

The Development Of Nature And Nurture In Language Development
The basis of language development theories revolves around the idea that, either nature or nurture
are more influential than the other in the development of language in children. Language
development as defined by, Menyuk, is the acquisition and growth of a societies chosen method of
communication, which occurs due to a culmination of cognitive growth and environmental
experiences (2005). Nature, is concerned with the biological makeup of an individual that
influences their ability to acquire language including, genes and brain function, alternatively,
nurture is environmental factors including, culture, family, and experiences (Fellows Oakley,
2014). Nature and nurture both play vital yet highly diverse roles in the acquisition of language
and its development. Analysis of the process of language acquisition will reveal that both nature
and nurture are vital for successful language development of children. The process by which
language is learnt or acquired differs by theory, specifically two alternate perspectives display the
basis of nature and nurture. The first theory to be discussed stems off the basis of nurture, the
behaviourist theory. This theory draws upon the concept of nature, suggesting behaviour is learnt
through experience and reinforced by rewards (Fellows Oakley, 2014). This perspective states
children learn from and imitate their surroundings and they are rewarded by responses and the
success of their communication, this is an exemplar of acquisition

Francesca s Style in Canto V of Dante s Inferno Essay
Francesca s Style in Canto V of Dante s Inferno
Canto V of Dante s Inferno begins and ends with confession. The frightening image of Minos who
В«confessesВ» the damned sinners and then hurls them down to their eternal punishment contrasts
with the almost familial image of Francesca and Dante, who confess to one another. In a real sense
confession seems to be defective or inadequate in Hell. The huddled masses who declare their
sins to Minos do so because they are compelled to declare or make manifest in speech the
character of their offenses and although they confess everything (each soul В«tutta si confessaВ»,
v. 8) it is not an admission of guilt prompted by true contrition or the timely desire to reform their
lives. In Hell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dante structures the Commedia in such a way as to enable the pilgrim to function as a
progressively more sophisticated reader of confessional texts throughout his journey, and as such he
becomes a reflection of our own possibilities as interpreters of these canti. Our initial attempts at
interpreting the equivocal texts provided by the sinners are fitful, inadequate, and constantly in
need of later correction and reassessment, thus reflecting the pilgrim s own progress. In the
reading and re reading, these confessional passages and canti define themselves as exercises in
humility: as understanding becomes the product of a series of misreadings and revisions of the
text. In the case of Francesca we have a confession that is more a literary rationale for her
offense than an admission of individual culpability, for Francesca seeks to use the language of
dolce stil novo poetry as a kind of cloaking device to hide herself as the historical agent or subject
who bears responsibility for her

The Pros And Cons Of Modern Monetary Theory
Modern monetary theory (MMT) Modern monetary theory explains exclusively how the
government, central bank and the commercial banking sector interacts, with some economists
arguing that understanding of reserve accounting is critical to understanding monetary policy
options. This theory was developed by a group of economist including Randal Wray (2009) and
Bill Mitchell. All of the commercial banks will also have an account with the central bank. This
permits the banks to manage their reserves that is, the amount of available short term money that a
particular bank holds. So when the government spends, treasury will debit its cash operating
account at the central bank, and deposit this money into private bank accounts (and hence into the
commercial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most countries, commercial banks reserve accounts with the central bank must have a positive
balance at the end of every day; in some countries, the amount is specifically set as a proportion
of the liabilities a bank have that is on its customers. This is known as a reserve requirement. At
the end of every day, a commercial bank will have to examine the status of their reserve accounts.
Those that are in deficit have the option of borrowing the required funds from the central bank,
where they may be charged a lending rate which is also referred to as the discount rates on the
amount they borrow. In a balanced system, where there are just enough total reserves for all the
banks to meet requirements, the short term interbank lending rate will be in between the support
rate and the discount rate. Both the Treasury and the central bank are involved in these reserve
management operations to maintain interest rate stability (Palley, 2012). This applies to the
relationship between the Central Bank of Kenya and its regulatory requirement to maintain a
capping that is below 14%. CBK finances commercial banks at much lower rate on their borrowing
so that the banks can fix their interest charges on borrowed money at certain percentage that must
not exceed the limit set by the

Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay
Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and spectacular stories or
deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and many other cultures, the birth of these
heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets them, apart often even before birth, from common
mortals in Greek mythology. Birth is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into
the world (Leeming). For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. A
mundane birth is simply not an option for a hero, whether by the machinations of the gods or
prophecies from an oracle, even the events surrounding their conception must be spectacular. From

Theseus, born of Aethra and Poseidon, grew up secretly in Troezen keeping him protected from
those who would harm him. Thus, claiming the items his father left him and setting out for Athens,
he started on the path leading to many great and heroic adventures. Hercules, born of Alcmena and
Zeus, was conceived when Zeus took the form of Alcmena s husband and lay with her. Her true
husband lay with her again later that night and she conceived twins. One would be born to her
human husband, and the other fathered by Zeus himself (Hamilton). Zeus bragged about his
soon to be born son alerting and infuriating Hera to Hercules existence. Hera was notorious for
tormenting her husbands illegitimate offspring since she couldn t harm Zeus outright for his
infidelity (Hamilton). Hera persuaded Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piquГ©,
almost killing her (Hamilton). Alcmena in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in
some accounts Hermes) stole him away to Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast while she
lay sleeping, granting him immortality (McLeish). When Hera awoke during the suckling she
pushed Hercules away and the milk that sprayed out formed the Milky Way (Leeming). Zeus took
the infant and placed him back in his crib before departing to Olympus again. Enraged Hera sent
two massive serpents to kill Hercules and his brother as they lay sleeping

Jesus also points out the sin she has committed and instructs her to submit her life and worship
the Father in Spirit and in truth, and then finally introduces Himself to her. Also Jesus by
washing the feet of His disciples shows how He becomes a servant and show the love he has for
them, in the same manner the most effective type of evangelism is love, compassion and serving
like Jesus. At first the failed to approach evangelism the correct way. The disciples fail to
prioritize evangelism and they overlook the woman or see her spiritual needs. They fail to
realize the spiritual harvest ripe before them (John 4:35) they weren t able to see how big the
harvest could be, but instead not knowingly they try to distract Jesus by telling Him to eat.
Evangelism in the early church is different then evangelism in the church today. Today some
churches do not even share the truth but only talk about money and how to make the church
bigger. Some churches do not share the whole true and are not bold like the early church because
they are afraid that they will lose members because of the truth. Also in some churches there is a
lot of division. In the early church like stated earlier, they were unified and helped each other out.
Now there is a lot of gossip and others try to excel above others in the church.
Jesus is our best example and we must love Him above all things and love others as He loves us,
always being filled with the Holy

Introduction
There are primary neurological brain abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia. According to
Fusar Poli (2009), schizophrenia is delineated by prefrontal activity and elevated striatal
dopaminergic functions. These elevations in striatal dopamine activity and prefrontal cortical
dysfunctions (Fusar Poli, 2009). Along with other abnormalities in white matter as well as, having
been observed in the right superior frontal gyrus, left middle frontal gyrus, bilateral
parahippocampal gyrus, adjacent to the right caudate head, right thalamus, left insula, left lentiform
nucleus, left fusiform gyrus, and bilateral claustrum (Antonius, 2011). The study of these findings
may assist us to understand their role in the severity of the schizophrenia disorder symptoms
(Antonius, 2011).
This research paper will provide an a comprehensive look of this disorder by providing the essential
features, enhanced knowledge on neurological pathology, recent research on the field that aids in
the comprehension of the neurodevelopment of schizophrenia, demographics including, prevalence
rates, and gender differences, an extensive review of differential diagnosis, the use of anti psychotic
medication and therapy as forms of treatment, the etiology of the disorder from the biological and
cognitive perspective. Although the key pathological features are white matter abnormalities that

Compare And Contrast The Chesapeake Colonies And New...
The seventeenth century brought thousands of immigrants to the New World in pursuit of freedom
and a new life. Many wanted a chance to be free from the poverty in England, others desired
freedom from religious persecution. As a result, the American colonies were created, Even though
all colonies had English descent many separated into different regions like the New Englandand
Chesapeake colonies because of religious, social ,and political differences. The Chesapeake
colonies were created to profit off of gold but their warm climate and fertile land turn them into
cash crop giants. On the other hand the New England colonies were trying to escape the religious
havoc in England. New England s cold climate encouraged a diverse economy and compact towns
which led to many advancements in their religion and education.... Show more content on

Exchange brought livestock and sugar to America and gave Europe many new foods and tobacco.
After seeing Columbus success through trade, European nations like England, France, and Spain

Colonization were the Native Americans who lost their land, families, and were used as slaves.

The owners did not allow the crew to touch anything, which was difficult for setting up lighting
equipment and necessary props. Deakins felt that balloon lights to light the interior would work
the best, however, the ceilings were very low and there was no room. These kinds of lights are
also broad sources that do not create the soft, selective wash that Roger Deakins was looking for.
The chief lighting technician of this crew, Chris Napolitano, had previously worked with Deakins
on No Country for Old Men and True Grit. He remembered a favourite lighting solution to the
lighting predicament and helped employ it for the shoot. This technique required clear, 60 watt
globes to be put into large ring lights that are fitted with forty to sixty standard, medium base
sockets. They would then install these light units around chandeliers that already exist in the
mansion s ceilings. This technique was the perfect solution to Deakins problem because it helped
create a soft pool of light around the existing fixtures and did not intrude on the space on the floor.
Deakins wanted to shoot 360 degrees, which required an empty floor, so this solution was the best
approach. The only time Deakins brought in floor lighting was to light the occasional

The Shoemaker And The Tea Party Summary
Book Analysis: The Shoemaker and The Tea Party
This book, The Shoemaker and The Tea Party is split into two different sections. The first part is
about the events that happened in Boston through the eyes of George Robert Twelves Hewes. The
second part is written about the Author, Alfred Young, who asks the question When Did They Start
Calling It the Boston Tea Party . This book is written about the memory that Hewes had of the many
events that he participated in. These events included the Boston Massacre, The Boston Tea Party,
and the tarring and feathering of people. The recollections of Hewes helped Americans to realize
that we are all equal, and all capable of doing great things to help our country.
The first section of the book is a recollection of memories that Hewes explained to two different
men, James Hawkes and Benjamin Thatcher. When Hewes finally explains some of these
events he is ninety years old and is trying to recall memories from many years before. Hewes
grew up very poor, and was a shoemaker but was very humble with the life that he lived. He
played a big role in the destroying of the tea in the Boston Harbor that was later named the Boston
Tea Party . The Boston Tea Party happened because of the large amount of taxes that the
Parliament in England was making the colonies in America pay. One of these taxes was the tax on
tea that was imported to the colonies. The citizens of Boston had realized that there was going to
be a large shipment of tea

The text states that David was a sheep tender, and Casey was a baseball player, their both different but they had one goal, to win! They both were supposed to win anyway. Another way Casey from Casey at the Bat , and David from David and Goliath are similar is because they are both boys. In addition, one of the differences between David from and ВЁDavid and GoliathВЁ and Casey from Casey at the BatВЁ is that David is from the bible and Casey is a baseball player. This is known because the poem we read in class about Casey is that he is a baseball player because baseball is the only game that uses a bat. (and softball (female version of baseball) is too.) Also, David is from the bible because people have read this story in the bible, so they are both different characters. When a person first hears the word leak, they most likely think of a story that was not meant to be published or shown to the public, but this is not always the case. Some politicians or government officials will leak information just to see a reaction from the general public. This tactic is called a trial balloon. This tactic is seen in an article that was posted in The New York Times in 2014 about the possible nomination of Labor Secretary, Thomas Perez, for Attorney General. The author of the article then goes on to talk about the response from both sides of the political parties. The author states that the nomination of Perez would be strongly supported from minority groups while Republicans would strongly disagree with this nomination. The author shows no preference as to whether he agrees with the President but instead examines both sides and the different responses he would most likely get. For the purpose of this paper vegetarianism is described as a plant based diet (fruits, vegetables, etc), though the most important factor being the total exclusion of meat, not including fish for most practitioners. In 1992, as the medical evidence supporting this lifestyle skyrocketed, the American Dietetic Association officially endorsed vegetarianism, thus solidifying a prominent argument for the credibility of the vegetarian diet. From the 1990s to present day, the amount of practitioners has markedly increased, and appears to be continually growing at a steady rate. According to a 2008 study conducted by the Harris Interactive Service Bureau on behalf of Vegetarian Times magazine, roughly 3.2 percent of U.S. adults, or 7.3 million people, follow a vegetarian based diet. In addition, 22.8 million Americans maintain to follow a vegetarian inclined diet, while 11.9 million are definitely interested in becoming a vegetarian in the future ( Vegetarianism ). While no concrete evidence of a current rise yet exists, researchers speculate that, because of new environmental and health concerns, more people are, and will be, turning to vegetarianism to assist these issues (Rohrer). The roars of men are zipping through the air as bodies are torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago were people competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been a part of humannature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on. Certainly competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a daily basis, competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years began to pass competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for their lives fighting against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own. Today, we no longer face the life or death bouts over a single meal. The sense of competition has not dulled, yet it has been moved from a daily survival to more of an extravagance for viewers to behold the abilities of others in awe. These days, the most anticipated competitions are held in football stadiums, boxing rings, and weight rooms. The rewards for today s gladiators consist of bragging rights over a rival, worldwide notoriety, and large sums of money. • 13. Cause Of Mass Shootings As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack. Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass shootings are increasing with more lives being lost. It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America. Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America has 4.4 percent of the world s population, but has 42 percent of the world s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Analysis Of Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding Comparison Visual Analysis In the previous writings I wrote about Hendrick van der Burch, An Officer and a Standing Woman . I wrote on how well he composed the figures, the use of color and light throughout the image, and the amount of symbolism. I ended the paper saying I will compare this painting to another, and I chose Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding. The contrast and the similarities are great between the two the artist. First of all they re both oil painters and from Northern Europe, specifically Netherlands. Although they re from the same location, the both lived in two different time eras being 200 years apart from another. Starting with the composition of the figures of Hendrick s paintingwe see three human figures and an animal. The male figure is sitting down on a chair slouched drinking white wine, while wearing his officer uniform. The other two female figures appear to look like servants; one standing next to the officer, and the other in the background in another room sewing clothes. To compare this to Van Eyck s painting this is similar. In the foreground they both have a man and woman together, both being the main focus of the painting. The use of space in both of the images are quite beautiful. In one image we have three figures and an animal, and in the other one it two figures and an animal. Hendrick added another room to his image showing that it s a big room, while Van Eyck did something that was pure marvelous. He added a small mirror to the back wall ... The Theme Of Knowledge In Seed By Lisa Heathfield Seed, a book by Lisa Heathfield, applies the idea that knowledge is power, but ignorance is bliss through the character development of Pearl, the depth of settings and ambiguity. Seed s narrative quality explores that knowledge does not always make one influential, however, not acquiring knowledge is a relieving sensation. The development of Pearl was highlighted through the narration of the book, explicitly describing how she felt when Ellis would express his conflicting opinions on Papa S s practices. The narrative of Pearl conveyed her as an innocent character who was unaware of the good from people outside of her cult, named Seed. She preferred not to bother herself with teachings other than what Papa S taught the cult. Nonetheless, her beliefs changed gradually from the appearance of Ellis. He told Pearl about his experiences outside the cult, which signifies the power he could have with his knowledge. Ellis was more educated than the children of the cult, therefore, he would ... Essay on Krishna s World View Duncan Guarino James Joiner PHI150 Mar 26, 2013 Krishna s World View The Bhagavad Gita uses the conversation between Pandava Prince Arjuna and his guide Lord Krishna to portray Hinduism world view and Krishna s view on the different fundamental questions. When he s facing a war, Arjunais guided by Krishna to be a selfless leader, and dedication to the cause. Origin, this fundamental question focuses on why is there something rather than nothing. (2.16) in the same section, he also described the ones who thinks a spirit kills and the ones who think a spirit can be killed, are both ignorant. The spirit then in Krishna s view, is immortal and everlasting. * As the prince asked Lord Krishna on whether he should kill for the war, Krishna used the arguments above and more to show that there would be transcendence and so on, and when a person is killed , his or her spirit would just throws away its worn out body and enters a new one. Krishna also addressed the issue of the attachment over reality. * Krishna pointed out that most people are afraid of death, and that the ignorance described previously is what preventing them from achieving immortality. Only those who have realized that the impermanent has no reality and the reality lies in the eternal; and have seen the boundary between these two would have attained the end of all knowledge. Since the production of oil is considered cheap and convenient in economic terms, people rarely consider alternative sources of energy. Until recently, the energy crisis has worsened. This is indicated by the rising of oil prices. The world, especially the U.S. is highly depending on the Middle Eastern oil because oil productions in other places are constantly declining. They are a diagram of the heavens, showing the relative position of planets and the signs of the zodiac (Dictionary.com, 2015) that use the time of a birth to foretell events in a person s life. People have attempted to explain the seemingly illogical events of life such as: wars; weather abnormalities; economic hardship, and the link between people s lives to the stars above. This resulted in the making of a combination of religion and science astrology(Grabianowski. E, 2005). While most people who read daily horoscopes treat them as nonsense, others use them to guide their lives are more than likely influenced by them. There has always been an argument about the reliability of horoscopes and whether people should blindly place their faith in them or not. It needs to be determined whether astrology should be treated as a real science instead of a pseudoscience; whether people should live by their horoscopes; if different religions have their own way of reading and making horoscopes; and what people use horoscopes for. Definition of Astrology The prefix astro in astrology means a combining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, astrology has declined in credibility and is now regarded as a leisure activity and a pseudoscience. In addition to new raw material, Saint Gobain Containers is also a Green Company which uses as much recycled glass as possible. Glass is one of the few packaging materials that can be recycled indefinitely (Saint Gobain). Melting Glass melting is a HOT process. When melting glass a continuous heat of over 2500 degrees Fahrenheit is needed in order to obtain optimal quality. This is done by Saint Gobain Containers by using reliable energy resources such as natural gas and occasionally fuel oil. Being a Green Company includes using energy resources which provide low emissions. Natural gas provides a low emissions level and thus is Saint Gobain Containers main source of heating energy. This is also less expensive overall when compared to oil fuels. Other energy comes from an electric boost which is used to operate machinery and air supplies for the heating sources. Using efficient heating sources has been one of the leading factors in lowering the operating cost of Saint Gobain Containers in the last two years. • 41. The Development Of Nature And Nurture In Language Development The basis of language development theories revolves around the idea that, either nature or nurture are more influential than the other in the development of language in children. Language development as defined by, Menyuk, is the acquisition and growth of a societies chosen method of communication, which occurs due to a culmination of cognitive growth and environmental experiences (2005). Nature, is concerned with the biological makeup of an individual that influences their ability to acquire language including, genes and brain function, alternatively, nurture is environmental factors including, culture, family, and experiences (Fellows Oakley, 2014). Nature and nurture both play vital yet highly diverse roles in the acquisition of language and its development. Analysis of the process of language acquisition will reveal that both nature and nurture are vital for successful language development of children. The process by which language is learnt or acquired differs by theory, specifically two alternate perspectives display the basis of nature and nurture. The first theory to be discussed stems off the basis of nurture, the behaviourist theory. This theory draws upon the concept of nature, suggesting behaviour is learnt through experience and reinforced by rewards (Fellows Oakley, 2014). This perspective states children learn from and imitate their surroundings and they are rewarded by responses and the success of their communication, this is an exemplar of acquisition ... • 42. Francesca s Style in Canto V of Dante s Inferno Essay Francesca s Style in Canto V of Dante s Inferno Canto V of Dante s Inferno begins and ends with confession. The frightening image of Minos who В«confessesВ» the damned sinners and then hurls them down to their eternal punishment contrasts with the almost familial image of Francesca and Dante, who confess to one another. In a real sense confession seems to be defective or inadequate in Hell. The huddled masses who declare their sins to Minos do so because they are compelled to declare or make manifest in speech the character of their offenses and although they confess everything (each soul В«tutta si confessaВ», v. 8) it is not an admission of guilt prompted by true contrition or the timely desire to reform their lives. Dante structures the Commedia in such a way as to enable the pilgrim to function as a progressively more sophisticated reader of confessional texts throughout his journey, and as such he becomes a reflection of our own possibilities as interpreters of these canti. Our initial attempts at interpreting the equivocal texts provided by the sinners are fitful, inadequate, and constantly in need of later correction and reassessment, thus reflecting the pilgrim s own progress. In the reading and re reading, these confessional passages and canti define themselves as exercises in humility: as understanding becomes the product of a series of misreadings and revisions of the text. In the case of Francesca we have a confession that is more a literary rationale for her offense than an admission of individual culpability, for Francesca seeks to use the language of dolce stil novo poetry as a kind of cloaking device to hide herself as the historical agent or subject who bears responsibility for her ... • 43. The Pros And Cons Of Modern Monetary Theory Modern monetary theory (MMT) Modern monetary theory explains exclusively how the government, central bank and the commercial banking sector interacts, with some economists arguing that understanding of reserve accounting is critical to understanding monetary policy options. This theory was developed by a group of economist including Randal Wray (2009) and Bill Mitchell. All of the commercial banks will also have an account with the central bank. This permits the banks to manage their reserves that is, the amount of available short term money that a particular bank holds. So when the government spends, treasury will debit its cash operating account at the central bank, and deposit this money into private bank accounts (and hence into the commercial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most countries, commercial banks reserve accounts with the central bank must have a positive balance at the end of every day; in some countries, the amount is specifically set as a proportion of the liabilities a bank have that is on its customers. This is known as a reserve requirement. At the end of every day, a commercial bank will have to examine the status of their reserve accounts. Those that are in deficit have the option of borrowing the required funds from the central bank, where they may be charged a lending rate which is also referred to as the discount rates on the amount they borrow. In a balanced system, where there are just enough total reserves for all the banks to meet requirements, the short term interbank lending rate will be in between the support rate and the discount rate. Both the Treasury and the central bank are involved in these reserve management operations to maintain interest rate stability (Palley, 2012). This applies to the relationship between the Central Bank of Kenya and its regulatory requirement to maintain a capping that is below 14%. Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and spectacular stories or deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and many other cultures, the birth of these heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets them, apart often even before birth, from common mortals in Greek mythology. Birth is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into the world (Leeming). For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. Hera persuaded Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piquГ©, almost killing her (Hamilton). Alcmena in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in some accounts Hermes) stole him away to Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast while she lay sleeping, granting him immortality (McLeish). When Hera awoke during the suckling she pushed Hercules away and the milk that sprayed out formed the Milky Way (Leeming). This book is written about the memory that Hewes had of the many events that he participated in. These events included the Boston Massacre, The Boston Tea Party, and the tarring and feathering of people. The recollections of Hewes helped Americans to realize that we are all equal, and all capable of doing great things to help our country. When Hewes finally explains some of these events he is ninety years old and is trying to recall memories from many years before. Hewes grew up very poor, and was a shoemaker but was very humble with the life that he lived.
