Clausewitz On Nature And Character Of War
Clausewitz on Nature and Character of War
There are no universal theories to explain the true nature and character of war, and any war theories
are not a fact or absolute truth. All strategic principles are dynamic and contextual, so every age had
its own kind of war, its own limiting conditions, and its own peculiar preconceptions. The battlefield
environment of the 21st century will be the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, and nature of
war will be completely different because of the Revolution in Military Affairs. Highly advance

A theory is relevant to educate the mind of future commander and guide them to self education.
To developed the war theory, Clausewitz used the Dialectic approach, which is a method of
philosophical argument that involves contradictory process between opposing ideas to establish the
truth, propounded by the German philosopher G W F Hegel. His thesis on war is an absolute war.
According to him total or absolute war carry out with the utmost violence for unlimited aims, and
there is no logic limit to the application of available all power. On total war both warring fraction
could not suspend their military operation and hostilities until one or other side finally defeated, or
fully discharge His antithesis is historical evidence and his own experience of war. By interaction
between these thesis and antithesis, Clausewitz develops Synthesis (theory of war).
Nature and Character of War
Nature of war which usually remains unchanged irrespective of changes in environment or war. Four
elements of nature of war are; greater political nature , human dimension , uncertainty , and final one
is contest of wills. The trinity of war, Clausewitz s famous theory, comprises three basic elements of
warfare are people; the second commander and his army; and the third the government, essential basis
for successful military operations. He describes these three tendencies are must be balanced to

My Experience In Canada
Ever wonder what walking the Great Wall of China would be like? Ever dreamed of feeling the fresh
cold air of Canada? What s it like eating baguettes in France next to the Eiffel Tower? Traveling is a
popular dream among all of us, and making it a reality is a great learning experiences! I visited
Canada in April of 2017, and had a personal emotional attachment to the culture and the whole
environment, and the people I traveled with could say the same. Traveling is truly the most exciting
part in a person s life because it makes their dreams of meeting different cultures a reality and gives
them perspectives of seeing the world differently.
Traveling is an exciting learning experience. When people want to learn a different language, traveling
a different country will tremendously help them learn it. People usually learn their first language by
hearing it all the time by their family. When foreigners go to a different country, assimilating to the
language is much easier if they continue to hear it. When I visited Canada, and heard Canadian French
on the radio, in the streets, and in their music, it felt wonderful that I could understand what they were
saying and it made it easier actually processing the beautiful language. I always wondered why I
couldn t learn French that well in the United States of America, it s because I was so used to hearing
English all the time. This proves that traveling helps people learn languages better because hearing
that second language all

Long Beach Appraisal
Everyone involved in selling and buying of real estate in Long Beach has some unconditional interest
in appraisals. The result of an appraisal has something or the other to do with what the buyer, seller,
realtor, and lender are expecting out of the sale. If a property has been valued quite low by the
appraiser, the seller would then be needed to lower the market price he or she had set. If we consider a
Realtor in this case, it would mean a significant dip in commission. On the other hand, a high
valuation of a property may result in the buyer having to pay a lot more than its true worth. In this
situation, a realtor may receive high or low commission, depending on the final selling/buying price of
the property. With these situations, you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you are considering to hire someone to do this job, you should make sure that you approach a local
appraiser, having a number of appraisal years in his locker. If you reach someone who has recently
received the license, you may have to bear some frustrations in getting what you expect. However, an
experienced appraiser will save you from having sleepless nights. This is why you should always
work with an appraiser who comes with all the credentials. The appraiser may be hired, either by the
buyer or the seller; for different reasons, of course. A buyer would hire an appraiser to have an
accurate assessment of property, its price, and mortgage options. On the other hand, a seller would do
the hiring to know the value of his or her property. Based on the valuation and the areas of
improvement, the seller can make amendments to his or her property, if viable. This will help the
seller in coming up to a maximum price that he or she can get after selling his or her property. The
seller would work to get the most of his or her property and the buyer would look to pay as least as
possible. In all of this, it is very important not to forget the real reason why appraisals are done. An
appraisal report features many things, most of which are very hard to understand for a common buyer
or seller. Good appraisers will ensure that they go that extra mile and make buyers or sellers
understand things that

Curious Incident of the Dog
In the book the curious incident of the dog at night time written by Mark Haddon, an important idea is

Theodora Empress Of Byzantium By Paolo Cesaretti
Throughout most of history men have been credited with almost all of humanities major
accomplishments. The world of ancient Rome was no exception. Great emperors, philosophers, and
religious figures all came from this great empire. But as with everything there was an exception, in the
case of the early Byzantine Empire it was Theodora. This summer I read Theodora Empress of
Byzantium by Paolo Cesaretti, a book chronicling Theodora s life and accomplishments.Theodora was
born into that lowest rank of the empire in about 501, the daughter of the bear keeper of the blue
faction of the Hippodrome. As Theodora grew up she was put to work on the stage, as a help behind
the scenes and eventually as an actress. In time Theodora matured into a beautiful women and she was
using that to her advantage. She was said to use her body as a prop on the stage, often with little or no
clothing on. Eventually she started to take advantage of her looks off stage and was said to have
numerous lovers who paid to see her. But throughout all of her questionable years Theodora never lost
sight of her goals, she never stopped looking for an opportunity to become something more, and
eventually all her hard work payed off, she was summoned to the palace to see the soon to be emperor;
Justinian. When they met he not only feel in love with her body but also the mind that had managed to
get her from the lowest level of the empire to the highest. But this was only the beginning of
Theodora, the women who,

Antonio Bernini Research Paper
There were two Italian artists in two different time periods but artistic styles paralleled one another,
Gian Lorenzo Bernini of the Baroque movement and Antonio Canova of the Neoclassicism
movement.
Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a Baroque sculptor and created Apollo and Daphne (c. 1622 25) that
displayed in Rome s Villa Borghese. Made of Carrera marble, and is 243 cm and 96 inches (Bernini).
It s a mythological story of the God Apollo and his pursuit of Daphne but she, was an unwilling
participant who prayed to her father Peneus to transform her into a laurel tree. Bernini carved a life
like action was sensual. Both characters faces are visible from the side. Daphne s silhouette, torso, and
breast were one noticeable line (The Baroque and Age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cupid revived a lifeless Psyche with a kiss. The audience can view the design from several angles
(Neoclassicism, Romanticism, and Realism, 2015). Made of marble, Cupid and Psyche is 168 cm and
66 inches. Louvre, Paris at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg is where the statue calls home.
(MITLibraries DOME).
Canova s Cupid and Psyche depicted the image of two lovers in an embrace. Although this is more in
line with the Rococo style, the emotion, and real love between a man and a woman displayed and
detailed by Psyche s arms around Cupid s head and Cupid s arms around Psyche covering her breasts.
Audiences praised Bernini for his attention to detail, carving pieces to look life like. Apollo and
Daphne s expressive faces and bodies were original and Apollo s love for Daphne and his tenacity to
keep pursuing her even though he knew she didn t feel the same. Canova had the ability to capture a
dramatic moment in Cupid and Psyche s embrace as well as the love they had for one another, the
determination to go whatever it took as long as they were together shows contrast between both

What Is Restorative Justice
Before Restorative justice came along victims did not have a voice. They were the ones that had to cry
in silence while the offenders go on with their lives. Restorative justice repairs the harm caused by
crime. It is an approach to justice that focuses on the needs of the victims and the offenders, as well as
the involved community. Some of the main approaches are to punish the offender or satisfy legal
principles. Nowadays getting restorative Justice isn t hard there are so many people out there that want
to help. The comfort women who were exploited during World War 2 and Tulsa Race Riot of 1921
didn t have the resources we have today. It took years for them to get there justice.

Fear Of Public Speaking
As of 2015, more people in the United States were scared of public speaking than zombies or
volcanoes or even death. The fear of public speaking also known as glossophobia is a type of
performance anxiety, which is a subgroup of anxieties that include test anxiety, stage fright, etc. The
sensations felt by an individual could have been as minuscule as slight tremors, or as overwhelming as
gargantuan panic coupled with paralyzing fear. To have stated that glossophobia was a difficult fear to
overcome would be a tremendous understatement; it took forever and a day to break the vicious cycle,
with the mandatory addition of constant practice. Nevertheless, individuals have overcome their fear
of public speaking by carefully preparing their presentation, using correct breathing techniques before
and during the presentation, and by interacting with their audience frequently. Individuals who wanted
to reduce their fear of public speaking knew they could not just delete the root cause. As expected, it
required time, but with constant repetition, the effects the phobia had on one s life were weakened.
Moreover, an appropriate point to start would have merely been to have known the information cold.
The pathway to success was found by only by knowing what was needed to be talked about, as
memorization is unnecessary and unwanted. If the material was deeply understood, those who
presented were likely to have appeared as the epitome of confidence. Not only that, but one s chances

Demand and Supply
Demand and supply The term demand refers to the quantity of a given product that consumers will be
willing and able to buy at a given price. As a general common sense rule the higher the price of a
particular product the lower will be the demand for it . The term supply refers to the quantity of a
particular product that suppliers (producers and/or sellers) will make available to the market at a
particular price. The higher the price, the greater the quantity that suppliers will be willing to supply to
the market. Markets consist of individual or groups of businesses that are prepared to supply a
product, and customers who demand the product. Market price is determined by the interaction of the
forces of demand and supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the modern high tech world there are also important factors that influence supply. Nowhere is this
truer than in the development of new production technologies leading to the production of high
volume low cost goods. For example, in recent years Coca Cola has developed high tech canning
factories that use less costly and cheaper materials in the production of cans. Wants a want is simply a
desire for a product; it is not the same thing as demand. Effective demand refers to a desire for a
product that is backed up by a purchasing decision. For demand to be effective the consumer needs to
have the money required to make the purchase. Elasticity of demand refers to the sensitivity of
demand to a change in price. The more sensitive demand is (i.e. the more it changes) to a price change
the more elastic it is said to be. Actions Whats this? Using the buttons below you can download this

Exercise Dependence
Exercise may be the hub of a healthy lifestyle, yet some individuals become psychologically
dependent on it. The purpose of the current study is to examine the relationship between exercise
dependence and self determined motivation. An online survey was conducted used 185 participants
with a mean age of 20.22 years (117 females and 73 males) enrolled in Kinesiology 2276 at Western
University. The survey consisted of the Godin Leisure Time Exercise Questionnaire (Godin Shepard,
1985), the Exercise Dependence Scale (Hausenblas Symons Downs, 2002), and the Behavioural
Regulation in Exercise Quesitonnaire 2 (Markland Tobin, 2004). Results were collected and analyzed
with the use of the statistical software program SPSS v.20.0. It was found that exercise dependence
was positively correlated with constituents of the Self determination theory. Of these, introjected
regulation seemed to be the best predictor for exercise dependence. These results were consistent with

Borrowed Theory Nursing Theories
Nursing theories that incorporate the theoretical framework from non nursing disciplines are known as
borrowed theories. According to McEwen and Wills (2014), borrowed theories or practice theories can
readily be used to describe and explain phenomena that affect nursing and concluded that to limit
nurses to using only nursing theories in nursing research is shortsighted (p. 444). Borrowed theories
can be derived from physiology, psychology, sociology, and education disciplines. Electrosurgical and
laser surgeries have created a problem within the operating room related to surgical smoke. Lewin s
Change Theory is a borrowed theory that stems from a psychological discipline and can be used to
help with the given problem.
In this paper, the problem presented will be summarized and include the potential middle range theory
that could be applied. A borrowed theory that can be applied to the problem will be described. Next, a
brief history of the borrowed theory s origin will be provided. Then, examples of the borrowed theory
s previous application will be reviewed. Also, the application of the borrowed theory to the identified
problem and how incorporation of the theory can change practice will be discussed. Finally, why
application of both the borrowed theory and the middle range theory can be integrated to create the
most appropriate solution to the identified problem will be explained.

Expansionary Monetary Policy Essays
Expansionary Monetary Policy Expansionary fiscal policy, such as the Chancellor of the Exchequer
deciding to reduce the standard rate of income tax leads to higher aggregate demand and an increase in
equilibrium income and output. In this essay I will examine the factors that are important in
determining the macroeconomic effects should such a policy be installed by Gordon Brown
(Chancellor of the Exchequer), and I will comment on any suggestions I may have for Gordon Brown
in the preparation of his next budget with a brief description on the assumptions that my advice is
based.

An increase in aggregate demand leads to an increase in the demand for labour shown as a shift from
DL to DL1 which leads to increase in employment as a result of the wage rate increasing from 1 to 2.
However, due to the natural rate of unemployment the supply of labour shown as SL, shifts to the right
to SL1 where the wage rate is represented as 3 and employment returns to the natural rate.
IS LM Model
This example of short run and long run aggregate supply and demand brings us straight into IS LM
Model. The IS LM Model shows the combinations of both income and interest rates and shows how
equilibrium is reached in both the goods and money markets. This model involves two
schedules/curves, the IS curve and LM curve. The IS schedule shows the different combinations of
income and interest rates at which the goods market is in equilibrium and the LM schedule displays
the combinations of interest rates and income compatible with equilibrium in the money market. IS
LM schedule in equilibrium or the goods and money markets in equilibrium. The money market is in
equilibrium at all points on the IS curve. The money market is in equilibrium at all points on the LM
curve so only at point A are both markets in equilibrium.
With the exception of a fall in interest rates, any factor that shifts the aggregate demand curve
upwards, such as a decrease in income taxes will also shift the IS curve

Ethics And The Separation Of Law And Morals
Law and morality work together to guide our behavior; while law does it by punishing us if we do
something wrong, morality does it through incentives. In their articles, both H.L.A Hart in Positivism
and the Separation of Law and Morals, and Lon Fuller s reply to professor Hart in Positivism and
Fidelity to Law, discuss the concept of law post world war II Germany and their re imagining of
natural law as put forth by Gustav Radbruch s theory. In this paper, I hope to show how both law and
morality is needed to create just rules, more specifically drawing from the grudge informer case
mentioned in Hart s article. First, I will explain the dilemma of the grudge informer case and the
contradicting theory laid down by Radbrunch s. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her defense was that she acted according to the law of that time and had not committed any crime.
Hart agrees with her defense, saying that we should now applaud ourselves for punishing her for her
immoral actions because she adhered to the laws of her time, and was at that time not doing anything
wrong. Contradicting his view is Radbrunch s, who argued that extreme injustice is no law, meaning
that a particular social standard can lose its legal validity when it is extremely unjust. Hart, a legal
positivist, believes that law is law, and argued against Radbrunch s theory in servings as a solution to
fix Germany s judicial system. He argued against his theory and wanted a separation of law and
morality because he thought that it would only cloak the true nature of the problems, and encourage a
romantic optimism, rather than addressing the dilemma that the courts had in deciding on convicting
Nazi criminals. Though Hart acknowledges that this case poses a difficult situation for the law, he
does propose his own solution to the problem. With his positivist approach to the law, saying that the
laws are the rules expected of us, and enforced at a particular time, he proposes that the grudge
informer should be punished through a different and new set of laws. These laws he deems
retrospective laws, would entail punishing acts such as revenge and duplicity. However, this dilemma
between choosing if the grudge informer was innocent

A Day Keeps The Cancer Away
Death. It s probably one of the things we are most afraid of. We re scared of losing our loved ones. We
re scared of leaving the ones we care most about alone. Unfortunately, death isn t something that we
can control. However, we can prolong it for as much as possible. We all know the saying, An apple a
day keeps the doctor away , but what if I said, Less bacon a day keeps the cancer away . If you aren t
up to date, author, Jeffrey Kluger, has recently released an article in TIME Magazine that ultimately
talks about how bacon and other meats could be held responsible for causing cancer, specifically
colorectal cancer (2015). America s favorite breakfast food, bacon, seems to be a prime suspect in this
case. However, bacon isn t alone in this. Hot dogs and other red meats are under suspicion as well. So
what can we do? Well, we could go cold turkey, but that doesn t solve anything. Instead, we need to be
smarter about the decisions we make when eating our meat, in order for us to live a healthier lifestyle.
Although I m in no position to tell you what you should do and shouldn t do, that doesn t mean I can t
give you a couple of tips. Before going into detail about what tips I can give you, first let s understand
why we should be smarter about the meat we eat. According to Kluger, In the case of processed meats,
the biggest risks are sodium nitrates, which are added to foods principally as preservatives. Once they

provocateur and feminist. Her choreography had a wide range of descriptions from beauty and humor
to darkness and sarcasm. The artistry of Bausch physically and emotionally express sentiments and are

The costume choice of this piece expressed that it is deemed appropriate for men to wear what they
want. As for the authoritative movements executed by the men, that represented the power that men
have just because they are men. The women dressed in white projected purity and innocence.
Although, the woman in the red dress was singled out and it seemed as if they were judging her.
Throughout the reading on Pina and Gender, this was labeled othering and after watching the
performance, I completely understood what they meant. The dim and dark atmosphere of the dance
represented that this issue is not addressed and is often left in the dark. The intensity of the music,
facial expressions, and style of movement all influenced my feelings toward the performance. Bausch
s choreography brought new meaning to music and I found that to be true. I felt anger when the bold
music played and the men exerted their presence. As the women danced to the softer music, I felt
empathy for the struggle they were experiencing. The facial expressions of the women changed

The Role of the Amygdala in Fear and Panic
The definition of fear has proved to be an elusive mystery plaguing scientists. While there is much
agreement as to the physiological effects of fear, the neural pathways and connections that bring upon
these effects are not well understood. From the evolutionary standpoint, the theory is that fear is a
neural circuit that has been designed to keep the organism alive in dangerous situations (1). How does
it all work? Learning and responding to stimuli that warn of danger involves neural pathways that
send information about the outside world to the amygdala, which in turn, determines the significance
of the stimulus and triggers emotional responses like freezing or fleeing as well as changes ... Show

The amygdala receives projections from frontal cortex, association cortex, temporal lobe, olfactory
system and other parts of the limbic system. In return, it sends its afferents to frontal and prefrontal
cortex, orbitifrontal cortex, hypothalmus, hippocampus, as well as brain stem nuclei (20). After this
point, neither the concrete definition as to the extent of the amygdala is not clear, nor is the exact
function of each of its subgroups. In the amygdala region alone, there is much controversy
surrounding the nuclear subgroups, resulting in classifications that range between 5 and 22 different
groups within the amygdala itself. Despite all of this, there are four main groups that have been
universally agreed upon. These are the Basolateral, Lateral, Central, and Basomedial nuclei. The
amygdala is considered to be the key component to the limbic system, a term that has also been
regarded with much recent controversy by researchers in the field of emotions. One of the biggest
surprises from LeDoux s work is that there may be no such thing as the limbic system a brain structure
that has been supposed to underlie emotion and motivation. All students are taught about the limbic
system, LeDoux said, but in my opinion, it s no longer a valid concept. (2) Reasons for his assertations
center around the investigations of the mechanisms by which the amygdala processes

Judith Flanders Murder
The Invention of Murder by Judith Flanders is written from an objective point of view. Flanders does
not follow a specific narrative throughout the entire story, instead she focuses on a specific aspect of
the crime like the reaction of the newspapers or police. Flanders discusses each murder in depth and
some of society s reactions. Many of the reactions she discusses are from people writing plays or
novels based off an aspect of the crime. All of the information Flanders presents is from research she
has done. Since there is little narrative to follow, all of the information is just research compiled about
a certain crime. Flanders is a reliable narrator since she does not insert her opinion about the crimes
themselves but occasionally her

How Did Marie Curie Contribute To The Modern World
A wise woman once said, I am one of those who think like Nobel, that humanity will draw more good
than evil from new discoveries (Brainy Quote). She was the first scientist to win two Nobel Prizes,
and the first to win the treasured prize in two different fields. She was the first female professor at the
University of Paris, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the first in many other major positions
and organizations as a woman. This is Marie Curie. Marie Curie was, and still is, a highly celebrated
scientist and person today. Curie revolutionized the field of physics and chemistry with her findings,
but that was not the only thing she did. Through her accomplishments, Curie empowered women by
sparking the women s rights movement. This incredible woman did all these things in life while being
a loyal and dedicated wife and mother. Marie Curie was a powerful figure who benefitted society by
discovering elements radium and polonium which is used to help cancer treatments, opening doors for
women by giving them power by being an accomplished female scientist, and creating interest in the
field of atomic physics/chemistry which led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marie and Pierre Curie both researched into radium s properties and the results implied that radium
could possibly be a cure to some diseases. From this, a new form of therapy developed: radium
therapy or Curie Therapy, as it was referred to in France (Koestler Grack Cures Cancer ). The healing
properties of radium are serviceable to the curing of diseases. Many suffered from incurable diseases,
such as types of Leukemia and Carcinoma, but radium treatment gave them hope for a cure. Now,
many diseases that were burdensome to treat in the past are of little to no consequence due to the
innovation of treatment from radium

Treating ADHD In Children
The statistics are stunning, an estimated 6.4 million school age children (ages 4 17) have received a
medical diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Have you ever wondered
what it is like to be diagnosed with ADHD? Take a moment and put yourself in the place of a child
who has received this diagnosis. Imagine what it is like to be the boy or girl who can t stop screaming,
fighting or fidgeting. The child who stares and does not focus. Imagine the parents of an ADHD child,
who takes their child out in public and he/she begins running around, climbing on objects, knocking
things over or just screams so people think you are mistreating him/her. I think that children with this
type of behavior should be put on medication ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone has an opinion about the role of medication in treating ADHD symptoms which leads to this
controversy. The results from the Multimodal Treatment Study (MTA) show that medication was the
single most effective treatment (Peacock, 2002) . For more than 40 years, stimulant medication has
been prescribed for ADHD. There is a lot of research showing that they are safe, effective and reduces
the symptoms of ADHD while they are being taken (Dudley, 2005). On the other hand, results from
the study also suggested that a combination of psychological and behavioral counseling with
medication is the most effective overall treatment (Dudley, 2005). Although the study suggest the use
of a combination of treatments, stimulant medication should be the first line of treatment based on
effectiveness. In the past, ADHD treatment has typically focused on medications. The specific class of
medication most commonly prescribed for ADHD is stimulants (Martin). Stimulant medication is the
best and safest way to control ADHD symptoms. Eighty percent (80%) of children respond well to one
of these medications ( ADHD Children and Medication , n.d.). Stimulants such as Ritalin or Adderall
are commonly prescribed, well tolerated, act quickly and in most children, have few side effects

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Paper
Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth said Lou Gehrig on Lou Gehrig

There are quite a few symptoms for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS. one of the first
signs a patient will have is muscle twitches. Then the patient will have slurred speech and will start to
trip or fall randomly. They will also have muscle cramps and foot drop, which means having trouble

Toys Are Today s Society Essay
Toys Are Us
In today s society, parents throughout the United States differ on their views towards children s toys.
Some children face different options and consequences when wanting a toy from the opposite gender
section. Occasionally, you will see in the headlines of a newspaper saying how progressive a mother is
because she allows her son to wear a princess costume. Mainly, the toys that are aimed towards boys
are associated with sports and aggression. Yet for girls, the toys that are aimed towards them are
associated with homemaking and glamor. These qualities are so recognized and known that I have
decided to do an essay on them to see what is alike and what is different in the areas of the toys. I
decided to follow two families for this analysis. These two families both come from a Mexican
culture. In household X, the family is both Mexican and American. In household Y, the family comes
from a strict Mexican culture. In response to my analysis, based on what I have seen in both of the
households I visited, I feel as though the children should choose what matters to them in relevance to
the fun. Allowing the children to have a variety of toys opens up different skills. Different toys bring
different challenges. Parents should not restrict their children to strong gender toys, as though it could
not help them develop physically, academically, artistically, cognitively, and musically.
In household X, the family of six had a young daughter who is approximately three years

The Importance Of Impression Management
Impression management is an inevitable part of human life. Impression management is a deliberate
and conscious form of desirability ... [that] requires cognitive effort (Uziel 202), or thought. It is not
supposed to be associated with one s actual behavior (Uziel 202), but, rather, impression management
is the image people portray of themselves by the use of behaviors to intentionally regulate the
impressions that observers have of oneself (Lewis and Neighbors 470). Patricia M. Rodriguez et al.
claim that people will present themselves in ways they believe will produce positive rewards and will
help them accomplish their goals (403), but different goals require different self presentations. Thus,
people must alter their impression management in pursuance of achieving their social objective. Mark
R. Leary and Ashley Batts Allen claim that people do not interact with others but rather make their
own impressions of that person (889). In other words, people go by their mental representations and
inferences they make about a person s character instead of who the person really is. In order to control
others impression of them, people may use manipulation and deception in their impression
management to present a favorable image of themselves. As a way to influence the perception of
others on themselves, people may use a strategy of being untruthful in their achievements and
behaviors that provide them with a mechanism to manufacture a positive outward image (Tyler and

Positive And Negative Effects Of The Columbian Exchange
Columbian Exchange The Columbian Exchange was a way exchanging new resources between the

these exchanges too, such as diseases. Made it easier to interact with other cultures. Jamestown First

A major point to bear in mind with the way is that the airlines/handling agents are also being updated
on estimates of arrival and departure. Therefore it has to be agreed by all the party s concerned on who
will be responsible for the updating the information.
Airlines and handling agents know of new flight information and if both parties have the ability to
create new flights then a minute difference in time can create two flights instead of the one.
ATC information can be used to create mandatory statistics required by some Government agencies
such as the National Air traffic Service (NATS) who use the information for planning purposes and in
some case for airspace usage.

Creation Myth, Myths And Beliefs Of Creation Traditions
All throughout ancient cultures, there are stories, legends, and myths. Many of these cultures share
similarities within their origin explanations. The recurrences of these stories are called motifs. From
great floods to benevolent creators, all creation myths share similarities within at least one other myth,
whether it be Babylonian,Christian, Greek, or Cheyenne. There can always be a motif found in any
creation myth; the most popular of which include man being created from organic materials, the
creator breathing life into the creation(man), and the earth and sky forming from the body of the
creator(s).
Man being created from organic materials One of the most commonly known creation myths is about
the Christian/Hebrew creation of man. In this myth, the first man is made from organic materials and
the first woman is made from a rib taken from the first man. Ancient cultures realized that they were
made from the same things as the environment around them, so it would only make sense for their
creation myth to involve man being made from all sorts of organic materials. This inclusion of this
motif shows that ancient cultures had at least a basic understanding of the elements and what makes
up everything on the earth. In the Cheyenne creation myth, Maheo also uses one of his ribs to create
the first human. Humans are respectively made from dirt clods, rocks, clay, demon bones, trees, mud,
stone, white corn, pea pods, and tears throughout various creation myths. Every

Clausewitz On Nature And Character Of War Clausewitz on Nature and Character of War There are no universal theories to explain the true nature and character of war, and any war theories are not a fact or absolute truth. All strategic principles are dynamic and contextual, so every age had its own kind of war, its own limiting conditions, and its own peculiar preconceptions. The battlefield environment of the 21st century will be the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, and nature of war will be completely different because of the Revolution in Military Affairs. • 3. My Experience In Canada Ever wonder what walking the Great Wall of China would be like? Ever dreamed of feeling the fresh cold air of Canada? What s it like eating baguettes in France next to the Eiffel Tower? Traveling is a popular dream among all of us, and making it a reality is a great learning experiences! I visited Canada in April of 2017, and had a personal emotional attachment to the culture and the whole environment, and the people I traveled with could say the same. Traveling is truly the most exciting part in a person s life because it makes their dreams of meeting different cultures a reality and gives them perspectives of seeing the world differently. Traveling is an exciting learning experience. When people want to learn a different language, traveling a different country will tremendously help them learn it. People usually learn their first language by hearing it all the time by their family. When foreigners go to a different country, assimilating to the language is much easier if they continue to hear it. When I visited Canada, and heard Canadian French on the radio, in the streets, and in their music, it felt wonderful that I could understand what they were saying and it made it easier actually processing the beautiful language. I always wondered why I couldn t learn French that well in the United States of America, it s because I was so used to hearing English all the time. This proves that traveling helps people learn languages better because hearing that second language all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Long Beach Appraisal Everyone involved in selling and buying of real estate in Long Beach has some unconditional interest in appraisals. The result of an appraisal has something or the other to do with what the buyer, seller, realtor, and lender are expecting out of the sale. If a property has been valued quite low by the appraiser, the seller would then be needed to lower the market price he or she had set. If we consider a Realtor in this case, it would mean a significant dip in commission. On the other hand, a high valuation of a property may result in the buyer having to pay a lot more than its true worth. In this situation, a realtor may receive high or low commission, depending on the final selling/buying price of the property. With these situations, you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you are considering to hire someone to do this job, you should make sure that you approach a local appraiser, having a number of appraisal years in his locker. If you reach someone who has recently received the license, you may have to bear some frustrations in getting what you expect. However, an experienced appraiser will save you from having sleepless nights. This is why you should always work with an appraiser who comes with all the credentials. The appraiser may be hired, either by the buyer or the seller; for different reasons, of course. A buyer would hire an appraiser to have an accurate assessment of property, its price, and mortgage options. On the other hand, a seller would do the hiring to know the value of his or her property. Based on the valuation and the areas of improvement, the seller can make amendments to his or her property, if viable. This will help the seller in coming up to a maximum price that he or she can get after selling his or her property. The seller would work to get the most of his or her property and the buyer would look to pay as least as possible. In all of this, it is very important not to forget the real reason why appraisals are done. An appraisal report features many things, most of which are very hard to understand for a common buyer or seller. Good appraisers will ensure that they go that extra mile and make buyers or sellers understand things that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Theodora Empress Of Byzantium By Paolo Cesaretti Throughout most of history men have been credited with almost all of humanities major accomplishments. The world of ancient Rome was no exception. Great emperors, philosophers, and religious figures all came from this great empire. But as with everything there was an exception, in the case of the early Byzantine Empire it was Theodora. This summer I read Theodora Empress of Byzantium by Paolo Cesaretti, a book chronicling Theodora s life and accomplishments.Theodora was born into that lowest rank of the empire in about 501, the daughter of the bear keeper of the blue faction of the Hippodrome. As Theodora grew up she was put to work on the stage, as a help behind the scenes and eventually as an actress. In time Theodora matured into a beautiful women and she was using that to her advantage. She was said to use her body as a prop on the stage, often with little or no clothing on. Eventually she started to take advantage of her looks off stage and was said to have numerous lovers who paid to see her. But throughout all of her questionable years Theodora never lost sight of her goals, she never stopped looking for an opportunity to become something more, and eventually all her hard work payed off, she was summoned to the palace to see the soon to be emperor; Justinian. When they met he not only feel in love with her body but also the mind that had managed to get her from the lowest level of the empire to the highest. • 12. Fear Of Public Speaking As of 2015, more people in the United States were scared of public speaking than zombies or volcanoes or even death. The fear of public speaking also known as glossophobia is a type of performance anxiety, which is a subgroup of anxieties that include test anxiety, stage fright, etc. The sensations felt by an individual could have been as minuscule as slight tremors, or as overwhelming as gargantuan panic coupled with paralyzing fear. To have stated that glossophobia was a difficult fear to overcome would be a tremendous understatement; it took forever and a day to break the vicious cycle, with the mandatory addition of constant practice. Nevertheless, individuals have overcome their fear of public speaking by carefully preparing their presentation, using correct breathing techniques before and during the presentation, and by interacting with their audience frequently. Individuals who wanted to reduce their fear of public speaking knew they could not just delete the root cause. As expected, it required time, but with constant repetition, the effects the phobia had on one s life were weakened. Moreover, an appropriate point to start would have merely been to have known the information cold. • 13. Demand and Supply Demand and supply The term demand refers to the quantity of a given product that consumers will be willing and able to buy at a given price. As a general common sense rule the higher the price of a particular product the lower will be the demand for it . The term supply refers to the quantity of a particular product that suppliers (producers and/or sellers) will make available to the market at a particular price. The higher the price, the greater the quantity that suppliers will be willing to supply to the market. Markets consist of individual or groups of businesses that are prepared to supply a product, and customers who demand the product. Market price is determined by the interaction of the forces of demand and supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the modern high tech world there are also important factors that influence supply. Nowhere is this truer than in the development of new production technologies leading to the production of high volume low cost goods. For example, in recent years Coca Cola has developed high tech canning factories that use less costly and cheaper materials in the production of cans. Wants a want is simply a desire for a product; it is not the same thing as demand. Effective demand refers to a desire for a product that is backed up by a purchasing decision. For demand to be effective the consumer needs to have the money required to make the purchase. Elasticity of demand refers to the sensitivity of demand to a change in price. The more sensitive demand is (i.e. the more it changes) to a price change the more elastic it is said to be. Actions Whats this? The purpose of the current study is to examine the relationship between exercise dependence and self determined motivation. An online survey was conducted used 185 participants with a mean age of 20.22 years (117 females and 73 males) enrolled in Kinesiology 2276 at Western University. The survey consisted of the Godin Leisure Time Exercise Questionnaire (Godin Shepard, 1985), the Exercise Dependence Scale (Hausenblas Symons Downs, 2002), and the Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Quesitonnaire 2 (Markland Tobin, 2004). Results were collected and analyzed with the use of the statistical software program SPSS v.20.0. According to McEwen and Wills (2014), borrowed theories or practice theories can readily be used to describe and explain phenomena that affect nursing and concluded that to limit nurses to using only nursing theories in nursing research is shortsighted (p. 444). Borrowed theories can be derived from physiology, psychology, sociology, and education disciplines. Electrosurgical and laser surgeries have created a problem within the operating room related to surgical smoke. Lewin s Change Theory is a borrowed theory that stems from a psychological discipline and can be used to help with the given problem. In this paper, the problem presented will be summarized and include the potential middle range theory that could be applied. A borrowed theory that can be applied to the problem will be described. Next, a brief history of the borrowed theory s origin will be provided. Then, examples of the borrowed theory s previous application will be reviewed. Also, the application of the borrowed theory to the identified problem and how incorporation of the theory can change practice will be discussed. Her defense was that she acted according to the law of that time and had not committed any crime. Hart agrees with her defense, saying that we should now applaud ourselves for punishing her for her immoral actions because she adhered to the laws of her time, and was at that time not doing anything wrong. Contradicting his view is Radbrunch s, who argued that extreme injustice is no law, meaning that a particular social standard can lose its legal validity when it is extremely unjust. Hart, a legal positivist, believes that law is law, and argued against Radbrunch s theory in servings as a solution to fix Germany s judicial system. He argued against his theory and wanted a separation of law and morality because he thought that it would only cloak the true nature of the problems, and encourage a romantic optimism, rather than addressing the dilemma that the courts had in deciding on convicting Nazi criminals. Though Hart acknowledges that this case poses a difficult situation for the law, he does propose his own solution to the problem. With his positivist approach to the law, saying that the laws are the rules expected of us, and enforced at a particular time, he proposes that the grudge informer should be punished through a different and new set of laws. These laws he deems retrospective laws, would entail punishing acts such as revenge and duplicity. However, this dilemma between choosing if the grudge informer was innocent ... While there is much agreement as to the physiological effects of fear, the neural pathways and connections that bring upon these effects are not well understood. From the evolutionary standpoint, the theory is that fear is a neural circuit that has been designed to keep the organism alive in dangerous situations (1). How does it all work? Learning and responding to stimuli that warn of danger involves neural pathways that send information about the outside world to the amygdala, which in turn, determines the significance of the stimulus and triggers emotional responses like freezing or fleeing as well as changes ... In return, it sends its afferents to frontal and prefrontal cortex, orbitifrontal cortex, hypothalmus, hippocampus, as well as brain stem nuclei (20). After this point, neither the concrete definition as to the extent of the amygdala is not clear, nor is the exact function of each of its subgroups. In the amygdala region alone, there is much controversy surrounding the nuclear subgroups, resulting in classifications that range between 5 and 22 different groups within the amygdala itself. Despite all of this, there are four main groups that have been universally agreed upon. These are the Basolateral, Lateral, Central, and Basomedial nuclei. The amygdala is considered to be the key component to the limbic system, a term that has also been regarded with much recent controversy by researchers in the field of emotions. • 35. Creation Myth, Myths And Beliefs Of Creation Traditions All throughout ancient cultures, there are stories, legends, and myths. Many of these cultures share similarities within their origin explanations. The recurrences of these stories are called motifs. From great floods to benevolent creators, all creation myths share similarities within at least one other myth, whether it be Babylonian,Christian, Greek, or Cheyenne. There can always be a motif found in any creation myth; the most popular of which include man being created from organic materials, the creator breathing life into the creation(man), and the earth and sky forming from the body of the creator(s). Man being created from organic materials One of the most commonly known creation myths is about the Christian/Hebrew creation of man. In this myth, the first man is made from organic materials and the first woman is made from a rib taken from the first man. Ancient cultures realized that they were made from the same things as the environment around them, so it would only make sense for their creation myth to involve man being made from all sorts of organic materials. This inclusion of this motif shows that ancient cultures had at least a basic understanding of the elements and what makes up everything on the earth. In the Cheyenne creation myth, Maheo also uses one of his ribs to create the first human. Humans are respectively made from dirt clods, rocks, clay, demon bones, trees, mud, stone, white corn, pea pods, and tears throughout various creation myths. Every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ms. Friend states that she is Mr. Yourprop s fiancé, but lately things in their relationship had begun to sour. She produces a thumb drive she says Mr. Yourprop gave her earlier that day. She tells you Mr. Yourprop told her to keep it safe and asked her to bring it home with her at the end of the day. Ms. Friend tells you she really likes her job and has no interest in being wrapped up in whatever Mr. Yourprop has done to invite negative attention. 1. How would you package the thumb drive for shipment to the lab? Be specific as to what materials you would use, and why? First off with any evidence, I would make sure that it is sealed and labeled as evidence in an a plastic evidence bag. Evidence tape is designed to indicate tampering by easily fracturing. The ... Aceves Task Organization during Operation Anaconda The war in the Middle East was in full effect and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) already had forces in the Afghanistan area of responsibility (AOR). These pre positioned troops were the result of intelligence reports that showed the Taliban and al Qaeda were hiding out in the Shahi Khot valley in Afghanistan. CENTCOM S poor task organization for the multiple coalition forces on the ground and air contributed to the breakdown of Task Force Mountain s battle plan. (Fleri, Howard, Hukill, Searle, 2013) The Joint Task Force (JTF) did not have the TACON it should have had with the SOF. Prior to the start of the JTF Mountain, the SOF operated under the control of the Joint Special Operations Task Force and bypassed the Joint Commander. SOF groups needed to be inserted at a time when the air support was not bombing the valley. Task force command and control (C2) was a major issue when key staff elements were not present. The continuing air support need for the attack on the valley required more air controllers than CENTCOM would allow the JTF to have in the AOR. Without enough air liaisons for each group they began to us the air control elements of the Airforce. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They commit their evil deeds not to achieve some goal, but just because of the sort of people they are. Terry Eagleton Are people evil or their behaviours evil?
