Anxiety is a multisystem response to perceived threats that produces physical symptoms like increased heart rate and sweating. It is a common human experience that everyone feels from time to time. There are several types of anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, agoraphobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, each with different irrational or intense fears.
