The research work is on determination of optimum dosage of soda ash or lime in
treating underground water in Makurdi metropolis. In the course of carrying out
the work, samples of borehole and well water from five different locations of the
study area (Makurdi) were obtained and analyzed in Benue State water works. The
sample were analyzed to ascertain the level of hardness in samples and to
determine the optimum values of soda ash (Na2CO3) and lime (Ca(OH)2) that will
be used in reducing hardness and treating the sample in the study area. The locations
were, North Bank, Wurukum, Wadata, High Level and Kanshio. The hardness level
in the study area was found to range from 200mg/L to 80mg/L averagely; this was
found to lay outside the WHO (1993) drinking water standards of 75mg/L to 100mg

Dickens is seen in various locations that help to thread the novel together. When new
scenes are presented to the reader, we are often given explicit details of the characters
surrounding and current environment to draw us into that particular moment. The city
is mainly described in a more negative light, with words such as ugly and
monotonous. In contrast, the countryside (away from the hustle of the working
town) is portrayed in such a way that it feels like a pure or sacred space, free of the
blemishes of the working town. Dickens creates an underlying importance with how
he describes the city versus how he describes the countryside, being that the latter
becomes the place of death for one of the main characters Stephen Blackpool. The
city of Coketown is a town introduced as an uncompromising, brutal, and fearful
place defined by its work and industrialization. The description that we are given of
Coketown makes it clear that it is not a place of enjoyment, pleasure, or nature. It is

As a beginner dancer at MHS, it is really important to go to dance concerts because
it will help us improve our dancing. The concert I went to was known as
SJDanceco, and this concert was located at Santana Row s park. This event had
started at 10 am and had ended around 5 pm. I had went at 10 am and left around
2pm because it was a really fun experience. I had seen many cool and different
choreographies with different types of dances. On the other hand this concerthas
occurred on 4/23/2017, which is on a sunday. There were approximately 88 91
performance groups that had gathered and performed on this special day. This was
SJDanceco s 15th anniversary, so this could be a reason why there were so many

The Structure Of The Church
I went to the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal on a Sunday morning for the Mass
service. I had never been to church before this, so my experience was a mixture of
awe, confusion, resistance and understanding. Initially, I was shocked with some
of the images presented, confused as to why certain practices happened, but open
to embracing this new experience to the fullest. One of the first things that
mesmerized me was the actual church building itself. The structure of the Church
was breathtaking. I was unsure of where to enter because of how big the building
was so, I followed behind a family. Upon entering, I was in awe with the inside of
the cathedral. Visually, I noticed the candles on my left hand side and the hard to
miss statue in the center of the church displaying Jesus the Christ on the cross. As I
sat down, I noticed the variety of different people attending this service. The
majority of the church was filled with seniors, parents, and their children. The
environment was more relaxed than I was expecting, as half way through the
service, a child began to cry and no one seemed to be annoyed because of this. The
service was held entirely in French and, as I do not speak French, I had a pamphlet
that guided me through the hour. The organs began to play five minutes before the
service began. After, the Priest walked in carrying a large candle and was followed

The research question that facilitated our asset map was simply What social outlets
are available for LGBT youth in the greater Los Angeles area? . We chose this
question because the majority of the young people receiving services at our site are
homeless, and as everyone knows, homelessness is a condition that can quickly lead
to despair. We firmly believed that locating LGBT themed social gatherings, groups,
and organizations would be an essential step in pointing these youths towards systems
of support that could help make their difficult circumstances more bearable.
Also, it was vital for us to focus only on social outlets that were LGBT centric for
these young people, being marginalized members of an already marginalized
community, the homeless have distinct needs that other individuals don t. And when
these needs aren t met, the consequences can be tragic. Research shows that
approximately 62 percent of homeless LGBT youth attempt suicide (Center for
American Progress, 2010). Before we began our work, officials at our site informed
us that they did not have a list of social outlets for the clients, which made our asset
map that much more important.

decision was made because many of the clients, being homeless, do not have the

Jesus Christ. I will first go over the differences I see in each of the four gospels and

First let s look at Matthews s account being that he was possibly one of the two
