the finishing details in my poster

The Little Touches
Once the format of the poster was established we did
many different re-drafts to create a professional looking
poster.

2. {
 ‘Daguerrotype’ was our most
professional looking edit, so
we decided to make a full
edited version of it. However,
we didn’t use this draft
because after the name change
reviewing the fact that it
looked more like a
‘Hollywood’ poster. Because of
the ‘big name’ actors
convention used at the top of
the poster. As this is a short
film, and it’s likely our
audience won’t watch it
because of the actors. Draft 1

3. {
 After the title change, we tried
to add more conventions of
short films like presentation of
film festivals on the posters, to
replace the ‘big actor’ names.
However, the layout was all
above the place.

4. {
 After changing the layout and
font until we liked it, we
decided to create a studio logo
and also add in a tagline. We
also drawn on another short
film poster convention, which
is unusual layout. So we put
the tagline under the arm
instead of in the middle.
However, after removing some
the content from the poster to
make it emphasis the image
more, we made another draft.

5. {
 We removed more of the
fillers on the poster and added
another festival. One big name
:Aspen and one smaller one:
East London. We also took off
the logo we created for the
studio because it was very
distracting from the poster
image.

6. {
 After playing around more
with the layout, we decided
put the tagline back in but in a
different format. We also
changed it a little bit to make
sense with our film.. We felt
like the framing of the poster
and the final layout makes our
poster look professional.
