1. The Kennedy Legacy
Chapter 1.2
Hello! Welcome to the newest chapter of the Kennedy Legacy. Don’t mind the picture, Forrest is wearing one of my
favourite T-shirts, so I just had to take a picture of it. Anyways, quite a bit happened in the last chapter, but let’s recap:
In the last update, Vanessa graduated and was dropped off at an empty lot, which she had a house built on. Forrest
moved in and the lovebirds got married with the burping professor as a witness. After tons of searching, Vanessa and
Forrest went to the employment center and got their dream jobs, and Vanessa got pregnant soon after. Baby Jake was
born, and that’s where we left off. Now, on with the show!

2. After much scrimping and working, Forrest and Vanessa added an extra floor to the house and extended the bottom
floor in anticipation of their new arrival. Vanessa wanted a car, but unfortunately the only one they could afford was a
1969 Pinto. She didn’t mind, because it was still in very good shape.

3. “If I close my eyes, perhaps this wallpaper will disappear,” she said as she walked into their bedroom. Vanessa let
Forrest design their room, since he insisted he had a good eye. He claimed he was trying to capture Simaica on a
budget.
“Well, at least he tried. And I’m sure I will get used to it after awhile.”

4. There was also a small nursery attached to the bedroom, since Vanessa didn’t feel right having Jake upstairs all by
himself.

5. After the nanny arrived, they hurried out to the carpool. Forrest was even more excited to go to work, because he was
assigned to a special case and he wanted to solve it as quickly as possible. Vanessa was reluctant to go to work, mainly
because she wasn’t sure if Nanny Willow would take care of Jake properly, but her husband assured her everything
would be ok.
“You sure she’s not goin’ to catch the house on fire or leave Jake on the floor? I was watching Simline on TV last night
and they were talking about negligent nannies. One nanny in Riverblossom Hills burned down a whole house because
she was too busy soaking in the hot tub!”
“Now, now honey, not every nanny is like that. I’m sure she will work out just fine.”
“I hope you’re right….”

6. Nanny Willow definitely put all of Vanessa’s fears to rest. As soon as they left, Willow scooped Jake out of his bassinette
and gave him a warm bottle, changed his diaper, then put him down for a nap. Only after he was sleeping did she sit
down to watch some TV.

7. “MMpph…I missed you so much!”
“ ‘Nessa, it’s only been 9 hours!”
“Still…I missed you. My day has been so so stressful.”
Forrest didn’t want his wife to be all stressed out, so he gave her a nice massage once they went inside.

8. Forrest really loved his son. He made sure to give him all the attention he could when he wasn’t skilling or working. Jake
definitely enjoyed the attention, and sometimes even cried when he was left alone for more than a minute. ‘Nessa
worried that he was spoiling their baby too much, but Forrest didn’t think so.

9. They made sure to take some time off for each other so that their relationship wouldn’t get stale. Nanny Willow
volunteered to stay longer so they could have some alone time.
“Wow,” Forrest said as he grinned, “We haven’t done this in ages.”
“I know….we work too much. But hey, we will benefit from it later on, and Jake will have a much better life.”
“You know….there’s something else we haven’t done in a very long time.” Forrest grinned again.
“Hmm…what would that be?”

10. ……………………………………………….

11. Not long after the happy couple went to sleep, a shady character emerged from the darkness. Her eyes darted right
and left as she creeped closer to the house. Her footsteps quietly crunched the grass, her breathing shallow.
“Looks like I’m going to hit it big this time!” She whispered to herself.
A wolf howled in the distance, scaring the life out of her. She stopped, looked around, then continued.

12. Meanwhile, Forrest was having a dream about the TV.
“ZZzzzzZZzzz….no…don’t take TV…ZZZZzzzzz…”

13. The burglar sighed with relief when she realized there wasn’t an alarm.
“Now…lemme see…oh lookit that! A flat screen TV! I’mma get paid good tonight!”

14. The burglar gave herself away when she tried to bag up the TV, waking up Forrest. He saw her and immediately called
the police.
“Hello? This is Detective Kennedy. There’s a burglary in progress at my house…come right away!”
“Hehehehe! That idiot doesn’t even see me!”
“I heard that!”
“Darn…”

15. The police rushed over to the house, and she was soon in a fistfight with the burglar. Forrest looked on, confident that
the criminal would go down.
“Hey officer! I was just visiting! No need for the fists!”
“Yea right, Allyn! Who visits at midnight??” Take that!”

16. Allyn the burglar was arrested and taken downtown, much to her displeasure. As she squirmed around in the back seat,
she thought…a lot.
I will go back to that house, and I will clean them out! Watch…just watch!

17. *sigh* “I can’t believe that woman took my stereo! How am I going to dance now?” *sigh*
Forrest mourned the loss of his electronics for the rest of the evening, but decided to go out the next day and buy new
ones.

18. The next day, Jake’s birthday rolled around. Thanks to the insurance money, they were able to afford a couple balloons
and a cake for their dear son. Vanessa called a few college buddies over to join in the small party.
“Ok Jake, make a wish and blow!”
*drools*

19. The first thing Jake did after being set down on the floor was demand attention. Vanessa’s feelings of Forrest spoiling
Jake too much was true.
“Mama! Pway wiff me now!”
“Huh? How did you learn how to talk like that?” She thought, looking at her toddler son curiously.
“Now mama! I bored!”
“Forrest! You are so in trouble!”

20. Forrest decided to teach his son how to make a snowman, but it turned out Jake was doing all the teaching.
“Dad! Make snowman wound like bwall! It better dat way.”
“Hrmmm….I think you’re right Jake.”
He was totally oblivious to Jake’s demanding behavior.

21. Jake was a very good child at times, being engrossed in his activity table from morning to nap time. His crayons were his
favourite toy, and he enjoyed eating them too.

22. But most times he threw temper tantrums whenever he couldn’t get his way, which was often. Even Nanny Willow was
close to quitting when Jake demanded she spin him around after lunchtime.

23. “Honey, why don’t you finish potty training Jake? I’m getting bored.”
“Hmmph? Sorry ‘Nessa, I need to finish getting ready for work.”
Luckily for Vanessa, Jake caught on quickly, and was able to go to the potty on his own from then on out.

24. Forrest spent a lot of time with his son, teaching him how to walk and talk properly. He regretted spoiling him as an
infant, but there was nothing he could do now. He barely slept because Jake constantly demanded their attention, and
neither of them knew how to break the habit.

25. “Psst! Remember Brenda in Homicide? She did something so crazy the other day!”
‘What? I’m listening.”
*snickers* “Well she…*whisperwhisperwhisper*

26. “…and then she said, “what? It’s not like Sarge will find out or anything!” Then, Sarge came busting through the door
and boy was he mad!”
“Oh my, that’s insane!”
“I know!”

27. Jake climbed out of his crib, trying to get Vanessa’s attention. Instead, he was greeted with the shock of his life.
“Mama? Dad? Why you have no clothes????”
The memory of seeing his father in the shower and his mother on the toilet will haunt him for years to come.

28. “Good morning, Mrs. Kennedy. Fine painting you’re doing there.”
“Thanks! …..ummm, nice, umm, nice mohawk you have there.”
“Thanks, Mrs. Kennedy. Took me all morning to get it right.”

29. Vanessa was inspired to start her family novel, and started typing everything that was in her head from the night
before.
“Ok, let’s see…..Once upon a time….No that won’t do…it was a dark and stormy night…..no it wasn’t actually….darn I’m
never going to finish this dang thing.”
It appeared that her inspiration left her before she actually began.

30. “Hey! Look at this move! I call it The Forrest Glide. Think you could do this?”
“I think I will stick with this simple move. I’m not that athletic, ya know.”
Forrest really loved dancing, and for some reason he just had to invent new dance moves whenever his colleagues came
home with him from work.

31. “Who’s my special little guy?”
“I am Daddy!”
“That’s right! You’re such a smart boy.”

32. Jake was beginning to look more and more like Forrest. Vanessa nicknamed them the doublemint twins, since Forrest
was always around Jake and vice versa.
“I wuv you Daddy, more than my teddy.”
“Aww, I love you too little guy.”
Jake smiled. “Can you spin me ‘round now? I like dizzy!”
“Umm, you just ate. If I spin you, you are going to get sick.”
“I know! Spin, spin!”

33. Vanessa started taking on extra hours at the restaurant, so talking lessons were left up to him. Jake wasn’t an easy
student though.
“Say blue!”
“Nuh uh!”
It’s easy. Bluuuuuueeee.”
“Nuh UH!”
*sigh*

34. “Let’s try another colour then. Green!”
“Daddy!”
“Wow you said that perfectly! I’m proud of you son. Now, can you say green?”
“Daddy!”
*sigh* “This is going to be a long day.”

35. Tons of working odd hours and raising a difficult son didn’t fade their love one bit. Forrest and Vanessa always snuck in
flirts and kisses when they didn’t think Jake was paying attention.

36. One day, the matchmaker came by with a special present. It was from Aunt Tanice, and she stuck a note to the side of it
with directions.
“I sure hope nothing bad happens,” the matchmaker said as she walked away. She knew genie lamps could be a very
good thing or a very bad thing, depending on who used it.

37. “Here comes the tickle monster! Booga booga boo!”
“No mommy! Tickle monster go away!”
Vanessa took the day off to spend time with Jake. Today was his birthday, and she wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Sometimes she felt bad because she didn’t get to see him a lot during his toddler years, but she was going to do her
best to make up for it now.
“Mommy, I want blue cake! And blue everything!”
“Ok, you can have that. Now, let’s go wash up before the people get here for the party.”

38. Forrest invited his pals from downtown to celebrate. He was nervous and excited all at once.
Did I do a good job with him? He thought. What if he grows up to be a spoiled brat? What if he gets out of control?
Jake’s voice snapped him back to reality. “C’mon Daddy, lets blow out the fire!”
“Alright kiddo. Ready? 1…2…3!"

39. Jake blew out the candles, with a little help from Forrest. He was excited to grow up, and was struggling to be put
down.
“Daddy, put me down, I want to be a big boy!”
“Ok, ok….I will put you down.”
Forrest put jake on the ground, then watched as his little boy grew up.

40. After wolfing down two pieces of cake, Jake started doing the smustle, which got everyone else’s attention. Pretty soon,
everyone in the house was dancing.

41. His birthday present was a brand new bedroom upstairs, complete with a space theme. Jake requested it, of course.
And he preferred the walls and carpet to be blue.

42. “Mom! Dance with me!” Jake exclaimed as he hopped on Vanessa’s feet.
“Sure, honey, but can you calm down? You’re about to knock me over.”
“Sorry……let’s dance now!”
‘You sure are demanding…”

43. Jake surprised his parents when he voluntarily cleaned up after all of the guests left. He wanted to make his mom and
dad happy with him, mainly so that he could get whatever he wanted. Jake would never admit that though.

44. Time flew by, and Jake’s demanding behaviour stayed. Eventually, they got used to it, and made it part of their routine.
“Dad, read me a story now!”
“Jake, try saying please. It’s the polite thing to do.”
*sigh* “Ok…please?”
“That’s better……ok once upon a time there was a bear named Teddy. He lived in the woods with his mother and
father.”

45. “One day, Teddy’s mom gave him an xylophone as a present. Teddy loved it very much. So one day, he decided to make
a special song just for his mom.”

46. "But then, he got bored with the xylophone and started playing wit his toy car. He made sounds like vroom vroom and
beep beep.”

47. “But he got bored with that too, and flushed all of his toys down the toilet. His parents found out
though, and he got in trouble. He was grounded for one week. Then, after that, everything was fine and
they lived happily ever after. The end.”
“Dad, can I flush my toys down the toilet too?”
“Erm….son that wouldn’t be a good idea.”
“But…”
“No.”
*sigh*

48. “Hey! You threw the ball a little too hard! That’s not catch! You trying to take my head off, Dad?”
“Of course not. Sorry Jake. Sometimes I forget my own strength.”

49. Jake did return the favour a few minutes later. This is what happens when two grouchy sims play catch. Unfortunately,
they always played catch, and it always turned out like this.

50. “Hahahahaha! You run slow dad!”
“No..*pant*…..I…*pant pant*….don’t! I just gave you a head start!”

51. Jake found his true calling in Fitness, and insisted that Forrest took him jogging everyday. It was important for Forrest to
keep himself fit, but he wasn’t used to jogging five miles a day. He did feel embarrassed that his 7 year old son could
outrun him, and he hoped no one from the police station witnessed that.

52. Nanny Willow and Jake were good friends. When she wasn’t working at the Kennedy house, she would call and check
up on him. She was the only one he wasn’t demanding with.
“Hello? Oh Miss Willow how are you?”
“Fine, fine. How’s everything? Are you listening to your parents?”
“Everything’s fine. Dad taught me how to jog, and Mom said she had a surprise for me soon.”
“But are you listening to your parents?”
“Yea, sometimes.”

53. Yet another night, Vanessa had to work late at the restaurant again, and the two boys were left alone. Since Forrest
didn’t want to cook, he ordered pizza instead.
“Jake, why are you so interested in fitness? Why not cuisine or music like your mother and I?”
“Dad…”
“I just want to know. There’s nothing wrong with it.”

54. “Well, I just like being strong…ya now, like Sim Man on TV. That way I can beat all the bad guys and stuff.”
“Bad guys? Hmm….perhaps I have been bringing work home too much.”
“I heard that some kids at school are bad guys, that’s why I wanna get strong before Monday.”
“Don’t worry Jake. You have your whole life to get all the muscles you want.”

55. Since Forrest’s promotion, his hours were perfect enough that the nanny didn’t have to come over often. He greeted
Jake as he got off of the bus.
“Hi son! How was school?”
“Hey Dad! I got good news!”
“What?”

56. “I got an A+ on my first try! Aren’t I awesome?”
“Good job, Jake! You are awesome! How about some ice cream as a reward?”
“Chocolate, right?”
“Of course.”

57. Penelope, Sharon and John Mole’s daughter, came home with him. Unfortunately, she was a very nice and trusting sim,
which made her a good target for Jake’s shady chess playing.
“Hey Penelope, there’s a pink and white unicorn with wings over there!”
“Really? Where?”
*snickers*

58. “Jake, I didn’t see it. I guess I- HEY! You moved my guy!”
“Me? Nooooo…I think you forgot what move you made. See? You put it here, then over there. Now it’s my
turn….checkmate!”
“I don’t wanna play anymore.”
“Chicken!”
“Am not!”
“YUH HUH!”
“Nuh uh!”
“Wanna play catch?”
“Ok.” *snickers*

59. Nanny Willow came by when both Vanessa and Forrest was at work and prepared a delicious pepperoni pizza for
dinner. She knew they were hesitant about her preparing meals, so she made sure she stayed next to the stove to
prevent any horrific fires.

60. Autonomous PDA’s were definitely a part of the Kennedy household’s day, when they were actually in the house at the
same time. Forrest wanted to make sure Vanessa was loved and cared for.

61. “See you later, hun, I’m working late today.”
“Ok…be careful.”
“Of course! I’m always careful.”
Vanessa finally had a day off, so she brushed up on her painting since Jake was at school.

62. A couple hours later, a police cruiser pulled up in front of the house. The officer sat there for awhile, talking on the
phone. She finally got out of the car and went towards the house.

63. “Mrs. Kennedy? I’m Officer Bates. I used to work with your husband.”
“Oh yes! How have you been?”
“Good. I have your new pet in the car. Follow me.”
Vanessa adopted a new puppy for Jake, since that’s all he could talk about for the past few weeks. She hoped he would
be happy with the pup when he got home.

64. And happy he was. As soon as he got off of the bus, he saw the black puppy yapping away on the porch.
“Awesome! A doggy! Just what I wanted!”
“Yipe yipe!”
“Hmm…I think I will name you George. We’re going to be best pals forever!”
George swished his tail in agreement.

65. Just as she promised, Allyn came back for revenge. She didn’t realize that the house was better equiped than before
though.
“Ha! Now I’m going really get everything I want from this house! You can’t—damn! An alarm!”
Before she could make her escape, the police sirens were getting closer and closer. Allyn panicked, forgetting to run
away.

66. The combination of the alarm and the fighting woke up the entire house. Vanessa worried from a distance, while Jake
cheered.
“Oooh man, bad joo-joo all over my house! I better call my aunty. We might need a priest up in here!”
“Yea! Get ‘em police guy! Pop ‘em one!”
“Jake Henry Kennedy! Go to your room!”
“But ma…!”
“Now!”
“Awww man…”

67. *Officer Rockabilly* “You are under arrest….again. Why don’t you just give up? Clean your life up and do something
honest.”
*Allyn* “This is honest! I honestly come in, and I honestly take stuff! I’m not lyin’ about it!” *sigh*

68. Vanessa watched the cop drive Allyn the burglar away for the second time. Forrest stood behind her and gently rubbed
her back.
“There’s bad joo-joo in this house now, Forrest. And I can’t take it out. Where did I go wrong?”
“You didn’t sweetie. Things like this happen. Maybe she really likes this house or something.”
Vanessa kept worrying until her husband lead her inside.

69. Forrest knew how to distract his wife. After all of these years, it still worked too.

70. Jake distracted himself by playing in the tree house that he helped build with his father. He pretended it was is fort, and
that he was killing evil pirates and monsters.
“Ahoy there! Prepare the cannons! Enemy ahead!”

71. Jake also had Patrice, Penelope’s sister, come over for a game of cops and robbers. She was more of the serious type
though.
“Pow pow! Drop yer weapon crook!”
“Hey! I don’t like this game, unless I’m the sheriff.”
“Can we take turns then?”
“Umm….ok. You better mean it though. Penelope told me you lie sometimes.”

72. Vanessa got demoted to executive chef all because she tried to expand the restaurant to airports all over SimCity.
“Dammit! I should have stuck to shopping malls! *sigh* I thought…I was doin’ the right thing….” *kicks pebbles*

73. She threw a demotion party to get over it. Even George the now big puppy dog joined in. He was easily amused.

74. Forrest was the first one to discover the genie lamp that was left on their porch weeks ago.
“Huh…I wonder what’s in side…whoa! Purple smoke? Prince, is that you?”

75. “NO, IT IS NOT PRINCE! I AM GENIE GENIE FO FENIE BANANA NANA BO BENIE, BUT JUST CALL ME GENIE. WHAT CAN I
DO FOR YOU?”
“Who on earth named you?”
“My last master did, back in 1985. Now, what do you desire? Hurry up, I’m missing Bewitched.”
“You have a TV in there?”
*SIGH*
“Sorry….hmm…well you know, I wouldn’t mind some money. My wife always wanted to redecorate the place, but we’re
short on funds. Can you help me out with that?”

76. Genie Genie Fo Fenie waved his hands, then disappeared in a puff of smoke. Two seconds later, a large bag of simoleons
dropped from the sky.
“Wow this stuff is real! I better not tell ‘Nessa, she might think it came from some bad joo-joo or something.”

77. Later, Jake came running to Vanessa when she got home from work.
“Sweetie, what’s the matter? Why are you so sad?”
“I don’t want to grow up, Mom. Chad at school said once you grow up you die.”
Vanessa squatted to his level and rubbed his shoulders.
“That usually doesn’t happen until you get really really old, or if you get electrocuted, struck by lightening—”
“I get it, Mom. So, I won’t die when I grow up?”
“No, you won’t. Cheer up, being a teen will be fun.”
“I hope so.”

78. That night, Allyn decided to try her chances yet again after getting bailed out by her friends.
“Damn! I thought that maybe it would be broken or something! Can’t get a break can I?”

79. Officer Rockabilly, who was now good friends with Forrest, came speeding down the street and ran into the house.
Everyone in the house witnessed the horrible fight, this time in the living room.

80. It seemed like bad experiences turned them on for some reason. As soon as the police officer drove away for the THIRD
time with Allyn in tow, Forrest embraced Vanessa in their bathroom.
“You know, I wouldn’t mind playing cops and robbers myself if you know what I mean.”
“Ohh, that sounds like fun. Get the handcuffs. It’s my turn to be the police.”

81. Jakes birthday was on a Saturday, so Forrest took him out to the local park for a little father son time. Jake had been
bugging his parents to go fishing for weeks, and now that he was actually there, waiting for fish to bite with his dad, he
wasn’t so sure what he was doing.

82. “Dad,” Jake said, breaking the silence. “I’m not sure if my party is going to be great. I mean, I know you and mom always
have good parties, but I don’t have as many friends as you do.”
Forrest smiled. “Don’t worry, it’s not how many people you have at the party that makes it fun. It’s enjoying yourself
with whoever is there. Once you grow up, you will see how great your party really will be.”
Jake smiled and put his attention back to fishing.

83. They both managed to catch boots, but eventually they caught enough fish to last for a few days.

84. “Dad?”
“Yes?”
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome, Jake. Ready to celebrate?”
“Yea! As long as I have some chocolate cake.”
“I think your mom already knew that you would ask for that.”

85. Back at the house, the weather was nice and warm, and Vanessa set up the entire backyard for some serious partying.
Everything was in blue, Jake’s favourite colour, and the cake was chocolate with vanilla frosting. The guests were
showing up little by little.

86. Jake even invited Penelope and Patrice to the party, and they were having a ton of fun. He was nervous as he thought of
what to wish for.
“Hmm…”
“Wish for something, Jake,” Patrice said between horn blows.
“Ok, ok hold on.” I wish to be successful in life.

87. As he spun around, sparkles surrounded him. He smiled as he saw his friends and family cheering him on.
Dad was right, this party is awesome! He thought as he transitioned into teenagerville.

88. Cliffhanger! Yes..well a mini one... How will Jake grow up? Will he Grow out of his demanding stage? Stay tuned to the
next chapter of the Kennedy Legacy!
