My childhood was filled with adventures of Kansas City, my grandmother was always provoking new experiences and understanding of the world
around us. Naturally, I knew the perfect person to accompany me along this adventure. The site that was selected for this review was the historic ethnic
neighborhood known as Strawberry Hill. Unfortunately, The Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center is only open on weekends, at an almost
impossible times for me to attend. Although, on this adventure the most amazing event occurred. Saddened by the change in holiday museum hours,
my grandmother and I began walking away, until one of the museum staff members popped out to ask if we needed any assistance. She was full of
wonderful historical insight. There is so much rich history within this neighborhood, and such a special find in Kansas City. The staff member
encouraged us to further explore the neighborhood, and research the webpage that is chalked full of information of the history. I will incorporate some
photos take on this adventure, while connecting the research I have conducted with my experience of the site. Strawberry Hill is located off of fourth
street near the riverfront in Kansas City, Kansas. As expected, being located near the river the neighborhood is facing much of our industrial sector.

Since 2011, some 4.1 million refugees have fled from Syria in an attempt to find asylum in Europe. The NPR article written by Greg Myre, "The
Migrant Crisis," estimates that the total amount of Syrians who have been displaced is as high as 7.6 million. This has placed enormous pressure
of European countries to take in refugees, though many of these, especially the Eastern European bloc countries of Hungary, Croatia, and Serbia,
refuse to let the flood of migrants into their country. This has left millions of refugees stranded without a home, food, shelter, or hope. As early as
September of 2015, refugees have been denied access into Hungary, which could easily serve as a means of getting into Germany and Austria. To be
granted passage into Hungary, hundreds of people wait outside of a single white trailer with one door, being processed one by one. This has caused
many to feel trapped, and compelled them to seek asylum in Serbia, Slovenia, and Croatia. Many are attempting to head to Germany and Sweden,
where the governments have recently passed bills to insure thousands of refugees sanctuary. These Eastern European countries, however, are not able to
handle such an influx. Deep–seated ethnic rivalries, failing economies, and constant border disputes have made the Balkans an exceptionally difficult
region to travel through, and the pressure to take in refugees has placed even more pressure on countries, mainly Serbia and Croatia, and caused ethnic
rivalries to resurface.
